Housing equipment from bygone era, the building was used as the Telegraph Office until the late 1970s. Then in 2012, this historic Building was converted to a family friendly Gastro pub having kept much memorabilia from the telegraph days. Today, customers walk through the door and step in to the past. The Telegraph Taphouse where friends and strangers gather to talk over good food and great beer. Through locally-sourced ingredients and globally-inspired recipes, The Telegraph aims to create a truly multicultural, truly ‘Canadian’ cuisine.

Excellent spot, for drinks and food, center of the town too with things going on around you. My family often enjoys going there, I do feel bad for the server Maddy with the glasses I believe, they tend to give her a hard time for whatever reason... Wish to make it up to her some how, be happy to share my info in an update response if interested. Happy holidays!
We went here for my son's 20 birthday. Overall it was a very good experience. We would definitely come back! The restaurant is the old AGT telegraph office. They've done a great job with preserving the history of the place. The food, overall was really good. They take a lot of pride with sourcing locally and have a farm to table mantra, which I always appreciate if I'm going to spend money on dining out. Lots of local Alberta beers on tap too! There was a large group of us so I won't go into details on everything. The burger my son had was amazing! The fish and chips were great. The batter was light and crispy and not to greasy. The fish tacos were very fresh however it needed more seasoning. They were a little on the bland side but that's a minor complaint. One thing of note is the kids grilled cheese stated on the menu that it came with bacon on it, but we were told by the server she would have to ask whether or not it was. It turns out that even though it stated it was complimentary on the sandwich that it was not and it's because the menu wasn't updated. They should have compt'd it and update their menu. The one last draw back was one of the beers that was ordered was completely flat. We were told that it's because it was at the end of the keg and they never know when it's getting there until they pour flat beer. They did offer my friend another drink which was a Ceasar and he said it was great. Our server was very kind, prompt and professional, so all in all this was a good enough experience to want to come back in the future.
Stopped in for a light dinner with a friend on a Monday and it was okay. Nothing noteworthy really. I had the lamb burger with a garden salad. I thought the salad was good and nicely presented. Service was decent.
A group of us from Medicine Hat stopped here for a meal before going to the Yates Centre which is just around the corner. Our server, Andrew was fantastic. Have to say he was a big part of our great experience. Food was delicious and prepared quickly. Definitely a treat to eat here!

Telegraph Bar's Oktoberfest had its moments, but it was a bit of a mixed bag. The setting was fantastic, with festive decor, great entertainment, and lively music that got everyone into the spirit. Early on, the beer was flowing, and it was top-notch—until they ran out. That's when things took a turn. Instead of more of the good stuff, they tried selling and that can only be described as "piss," all while blaming a beer shortage on a rail strike—which felt like an excuse. The food? Decent, but overpriced. I was hoping for simple, classic brats, but while they hit the spot, the price tag didn’t match the simplicity. Once the beer dried up and the night fell, the event morphed into an outdoor club, complete with terrible music and worse beer. If you go, go early, because things definitely go downhill later in the night. Despite the hiccups, we still managed to have a good time—but there's plenty of room for improvement
My bride and I were in the area and thought we'd give this place a go. The little downtown area was cute. There was no wait on a Tuesday afternoon about 5:30. We chose to sit outside. There were a few other couples and it was in the shade on a very warm afternoon. The staff was professional, attentive and took good care of us. The classic and bison burgers came out looking delicious and tasted the same. The beer menu was diverse and had a cider my bride enjoyed. The two beers I had were delicious. Thankful for the large selection. The downside was no fault of the establishment. Not sure how to be PC about it, but the state of the folks laying on the sidewalk nearby were like "Zombies". There was one that I would keep an eye on to make sure he was breathing, he was a few meters from our table. His "friends" kept checking on him as well. One approached the table as we ate, asking for food, the same happened to the couple next to us. One "Zombie" took an ATM/daily special sign and walked away with it from inside the building. Two of the young staff had to get it. As we walked the area, we discovered more "zombies". They were all over the cute park that was across the street. This could have been an enjoyable dinner date and stroll around the area. The food and drink were good and the staff was awesome. It saddened us that choosing to eat outside diminished the experience. As an outsider, we felt bad for the area and the Taphouse. It is unfortunate this is happening to an otherwise lovely town and we hope for the sake of the community something changes.
Good selection of rotating international and domestic beers on tap. The beers only last until the last pint is poured. I came around 3pm and it wasn’t busy. I wanted to try something from Alberta. Ordered a pint of Eighty-Eight Good Morning Vietnamese Coffee Stout ($9.75). Bitter, dark, and really satisfying. I ordered the Rustic Fries ($5 - the only dish available that day from their happy hour menu) and they were crisp and a good foil to the beer. Next I tried the Jasper Babe Tangerine Dream ($9 pint) as recommended by the server. Wow, really flavorful. Just like a Mimosa like he described but beer. The place is small but cozy. Music is soft. Servers are friendly.
The food is exceptional. You can tell they use fresh and local ingredients. The beer and cider list has something for everyone. Andrew gave us the best service Ive experienced in a long time!

Ive yet to be disappointed here! This is a great little place with a wonderful atmosphere and staff. Food has always been excellent and the prices are comparably very low now.
We had a hockey tournament in Lethbridge on the weekend of Dec 6-Dec 8 and were looking for some places for a team meal. These guys shut their doors to the public for our booking of over 40 people. The pre planning and pre ordering was great and the time of the team meal was absolutely seamless!! Great organization and amazing food !! Thank you!

i have only been here twice but both times have been fantastic !! soups are to die for and food is amazing. Andrew always goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience. Anna was also super sweet and very attentive. couldnt recommend this place enough !!

We booked our ringette team here for supper and the service was excellent as well as the food! They got us through in record time and we enjoyed being able to eat at a nice establishment!
The Nachos are fantastic. The ground chuck and extra cheese are worth the cost. Don t be afraid to insist on the cheese being melted properly because there is a tendency for the kitchen to rush them out a little bit. But some of the best nachos around

Had the salmon eggs Benedict. The salmon was quite fishy tasting like it was old and the eggs were cooked hard but the salad was pretty good. Portions were quite on the small side but we had excellent service. Dietary restrictions: Had gluten free options
I have been going to the Telegraph Tap House since its earliest days...am not related to, or a friend of, anyone who owns it or works there. I can honestly say that Ive never experienced any poor service or substandard food - indeed, both are usually very good to excellent. Sometimes they are slammed, and things slow down, but that just comes with good beer, good food, good people and a lovely atmosphere! I appreciate what they bring to downtown Lethbridge.

Took our 4 month old puppy to the patio area. They brought water and treats for our dog and had delicious beer with nachos.
Havent been back in a while... however I dont think I will be returning after today. Our meals didnt come out how we asked then to be cooked then the server argued with us about it. Also the price on the menu isnt what you pay the server said they are outdated and it makes the difference okay I guess it was a great place once upon a time, but not anymore.

Yesterday my cousin & I decided to enjoy a night out. We went to the Telegraph tap house. There we met Dennis who suggested we should try a whole rack of pork ribs. It came with fries. We agreed & it was absolutely delicious!!! Dennis was attentive to our requests and took excellent care of us. The atmosphere was wonderful! We will be back!

The 2 stars is for the phone going straight to voicemail. Tried to reserve a table for my wedding party and the number didnt work so ended up going with a different restaurant. Its very disappointing because I really like this restaurant and the food / service snd atmosphere are all AMAZING. But if I cant reserve a table with the number provided then whats the point
The atmosphere was cozy and romantic for Valentine s Day, the music was not to loud and staff was attentive to us from the time we walked in to the time we walked out. The food was nicely portioned and decently priced for the amount.
Very tasty! My family is doing a food blog to find the best burger in southern Alberta. So we came here. Our server, Alex, was so very kind. She was all by herself but she got us our food quickly. The burgers were nice and tasty. Salad was good too. Kid-friendliness: Kids are allowed in and there are plenty of non alcoholic beverages
I cant share any food/service details but my wife and I were seated quickly. We eat out quite often but as soon as we opened the menu we were so surprised at how over priced everything was that we got up and left.

The place was pretty empty - only one other table of 3 or 4. Unfortunately I ordered a salad which had seen better days: brown lettuce and mushy grape tomatoes . I *think* the rest of my group enjoyed their lunch although none of us are the complaining types. We were there to visit.
Love the atmosphere here and the service at the bar is amazing! Aaron has the best beer recommendations and his cocktails are unmatched! Will definitely be returning. Edit: Although I did originally give 5 stars I will have to switch it to 1 star after finding out their front of house managers won t tip out staff and will cause people to be unable to play their bills. I wouldn t support this business, your tips will be going to greedy people.

Update: this place is still great, highly recommend. Original post: Run dont walk to this place, its fantastic! We came in for dinner and drinks on a Saturday night and had a great time. The atmosphere and service here are top tier, 5 stars! The beer options were some of the best Ive ever seen. I had a flight with 3 fruit beers and one stout, I loved them all! And such a great presentation. The menu has a great selection of lighter foods and big meals. This was fine dining in a fancy pub! Our server was very attentive, we didnt feel rushed and our drinks were rarely empty. I like the location and I cant wait to go back! The only hiccup was that my friend ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich and it was swimming in sauce. I highly recommend the tomato cheese toast with soup, that was amazing! And the sticky toffee pudding was hands down the most delicious dessert Ive ever eaten. Guys, run! ... To the telegraph taphouse. Lol

The staff are great. Inside is fun to look around, as you will see something different every time. Food is awesome (bacon wrapped perogies are to die for) and a great beer selection. Sitting on the patio in summer is a lovely time watching the world go by, or listen to the buskers on the stage in front.

I cant give it less than 1 star but if I could it would. When we walked in no one sat us for 5 mins we almost walked. Then we were never told the special. The food was very salty and over priced for the size of our portions. The server only came to see if we need anything or want refills. Will never be back

Amazing bar in downtown lethbridge. Nice stock of local craft beer and from the food that I did try, it was pretty tasty. The building itself is an old telegraph communications building so that makes the place even more exciting.
Came here for drinks and the atmosphere and service were perfect! Very cool place and our server was attentive and kind. Long list of drinky poos on tap. We didn t have any food but IT SMELLED AND LOOKED SO GOOD! Will be back to try the burgers soon.

Went for brunch and was shocked at how bad the service was and then was more shocked when I saw his name tag said hes the manager. He was behind the bar on his phone for the most part. There didnt seem to be any other serving staff. The eggs Benny was okay but came with the sadest amount of hollandaise sauce and we all know thats the best part.
Amazing food, very quiet around 1pm on a Friday. We were just looking for a place to eat while spending some time in lethbridge, I would absolutely recommend this place if your looking for some good food and a good atmosphere. Picky girlfriend loved her food 10/10 Zuko would do well taking his girl here.

I remember sending a telegram from here and I worked with the company that transformed it into an office. I discovered excellent beer here 9 years ago. My son and I made a date to see if the beer was still good! It was! But I had fish and chips and they were terrible! The fish was wet and broke into small bits that had to be eaten with a spoon! The fries were overdone and dry. Asked if I wanted gravy, I got 3 ramekins filled with mustard and ketchup besides! Mustard with fish? The price is the reason for my complaint! It was $23 for fish and chips! I was prepared to pay $9 for a pint of beer, but the finest restaurants in Lethbridge dont think so much of themselves they ask $23 for a $12 meal! I wont be back until someone says they had decent fish and chips. I was very disappointed.

Cute and intimate gastropub with quick service, tasty food, and a great selection of drinks. We were actually shocked at how quickly our food arrived, and it was hot! They seem to accomplish what other pubs and restaurants cant, in a cozy atmosphere.

We came on a Thursday night to try this place for the first time. The food was horrible. We got the fish and chips, beef dip and the high top with a ceaser. Things were either over cooked, dry, over seasoned or under seasoned. None of us finished our food due to this. We also had barely any service the whole night despite it not being busy. The server took our drink order fine but then we had to ask another server to grab them for our food order. Then they only checked on us once right after our food got set down so we hadnt even tasted anything yet. Otherwise they did not come over even after we were done eating and wanting to leave. After 15 minutes we had to find them and tell them we wanted to leave. The other servers also completely ignored our table as we werent their section. We were very unhappy with the entire experience and would not recommend telegraph.

Weve recently enjoyed Telegraph Taphouse on two separate occasions: both times we came away quite satisfied with our experience. The food was fantastic and the prices were fair; the service was excellent, leaving nothing to be desired. The atmosphere of the Taphouse glowingly elevated the entire experience.

Always good, with a avergae service at most. But not anymore! The service was no less than perfect this time. We got nice recommendations from the personnel about drinks and food and they were always attentive to what we needed.

Food was amazing and there drinks fantastic ordered a blue Hawaiian and was not disappointed. The waitress mixed up our burger orders when placing them down. I had no idea until my friend complained about having lettuce on hers. And i was like mine was lacking spice but thought it was just the burger then we were told they mixed them up. Not mad at all because i mean we all fully enjoyed our meal and Im looking forward to trying the texas burger next time around!

Great service. Good location. Servers are always very welcoming. Parking: You have to park on the street but in evenings and weekends its free. Just have to find a good spot. Wheelchair accessibility: There is definitely a great amount of places to park a wheel chair, especially in the outside seating.

I didnt really enjoy my visit here tbh (reasons below.) There are a lot of things to talk about. Ordered a beef dip, and their toffee pudding as dessert. A little bit pricy. For the beef dip, it said pretzel bun in the description of the dish, but it came out with the bread that looked like a white, regular bun. I asked the server and he said it s always like that. Then I showed him the pic I found here on the map. Then he said oh, maybe they changed the recipe. done. I mean, you could ask the chef just to check in? Or edit your menu! It s not a big deal but the way addressing this question was not professional. And the reason why I asked, is because that bread was dry and no flavor.. so did the beef. The whole dish was overall salty. The dip was the same, helped the dry part but salty with dull taste. Only thing l ll say good in this dish is their fries. Still, my recommendation, toffee pudding was delicious. Love the date taste inside. Warm, moist, and soft. Sweet but not heavy. But, I was charged more than the price on the menu. It was only $0.5+ so it was fine, but again, just edit the menu. Last, kinda personal, but the server guessed my nationality by saying are u from ____? It was not appropriate. Even if you are curious (in a good way,) use May I know where r u from? Instead of your assumptions. The server was a nice person for sure, but has to learn more about how to handle things.

Great place to relax over a drink. Does this or any eatery in town have a vegetable oil free menu. as in no canola or margarine or other manufactured fats?? We are going to avoid menus soaking in cheap canola oils.
