Chef Stella | Diner & Catering in Lethbridge

Dropped in for a late supper while shopping downtown. Hot chicken sandwich and ceasar salad left me fully satisfied. Picked up a gift box of jams and jellies to share too. Thanks to Chef Stella and the staff for a meal well done!

The restaurant wasnt that bad homemade sausage patty was horrible and the one waitress the older one doing the training had a completely horrible attitude and I will never return because of it

I have watched Seinfeld for a very long time and I always thought... Who just hangs out in a diner day after day? This place makes me want to be that kind of person. I want to come back often because I felt like a regular on my first visit, the food was all enticing and I cant wait to try something new on every subsequent visit. Edit: we made it for the brunch buffet and it did not disappoint. A wide selection to satisfy every breakfast craving. The hash is amazing but the biscuits and gravy.... Yet another delicious meal four of them, actually at this downtown Lethbridge gem this morning. Like always; everything came out fresh and piping hot. The Italian breakfast bowl was exactly as great as I was expecting. And watching my 10 year old son wolf down a man-sized meatball sub at 9:15 a.m. was pretty hilarious. We will be back again. And again. And again. And

THE absolute best food and service in town. We look forward to Sunday brunches and leave just stuffed with homemade Italian food and some extra snacks for later!

My husband and I recently returned to Lethbridge for the first time in 30 years since we were students dating at the local university. During our 3-day visit, we stumbled upon a hidden gem Stellas a cozy, family-run restaurant offering a delightful buffet breakfast. The food exceeded our expectations, with everything made from scratch. The homemade gravy on the scones was absolutely delicious. It s clear that a lot of love and care goes into every dish. Our server, Simona, was incredibly friendly and attentive. After we shared our story of coming back to Lethbridge after three decades, she generously gave us a senior discount, even though we re not quite there yet! It was such a thoughtful gesture that made our experience even more memorable. If we find ourselves in Lethbridge again, Stellas will definitely be at the top of our list. :)))

Absolutely delicious! We have stopped for breakfast every day on our drive west across Canada and this was the best one yet by far. So glad we made the short detour off hwy 3 to eat here, its well worth it if you are passing through Lethbridge.

We come here every once in a while and it is always great. Delicious, homemade food at a respectable price point. They also do fantastic catering. It was delicious, economical, professional, and logistically carefree. Truly amazing.

For our small backyard wedding Cheff Stella did drop off catering for the event. Her staff set everything up for us we are ecstatic with the service we got. We ordered pulled pork sandwiches with fixings, and multiple salads. Everything was delicious and all guests had plenty to eat. Please consider Chef Stella for your next event.

OMG!!! Brunch was soooooo good. I can t even pick a favourite dish. They all were. Special mention to the pancakes, perogies, and zucchini muffins.

I will start by saying that the service was fantastic. We were seated quickly and our server was over to our table in a minute or two. The food, however, was quite poor. We were here on a Saturday so only the breakfast buffet was available. The scrambled eggs were bland, the fruit salad was made of unripe watermelon, grapes and canned pineapples. The pancakes were horribly salty. They were inedible; I suspect someone mixed up the sugar and the salt. They also had lasagna and cauliflower chicken as part of the buffet, which makes it seem like they were getting rid of catering/dinner service leftovers. In all fairness, they did try and address the miss on the pancakes, which is why they have two stars instead of one. Good service, however, does not make up for poorly prepared and inproperly seasoned food. There wasnt one redeeming buffet item that any of us thought that was good!. Our family loves breakfast and we were really looking forward to eating here based on the reviews. I wish that we had gone elsewhere.

Went on Saturday around 11 and were excited for the bunch as it was my first time here. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, scrambled eggs were not over cooked, could definitely tell the baked goods were done by hand and not premixed. Since it was a brunch the lunch options were a nice choice nothing to heavy. I plan on going again no doubt about it and suggest that anyone that wants a great positive atmosphere with really good food to head to this Cafe.

Stellas serves great home made comfort food and my boyfriend and I eat here for their brunch often! The staff are fun, sassy and efficient and the food is always consistently good. Definitely reccomend.

Have been coming here for breakfast with a group of other fellows for awhile now, and breakfast is always great. The service is friendly and attentive, and the coffee flows. Today, Chef was making lasagna for pickup later, so I reserved a 1/4 pan with a Caesar salad for dinner. We just finished, and I think that is the best lasagna Ive ever eaten, including the times Ive been to Italy. It was unbelievably delicious, and the Caesar salad was fantastic. To quote John Catucci, Youve gotta eat here!

Was in town for an event, and coming here for breakfast both days was arguably the highlight. Food and service was amazing, with a relaxed atmosphere. Everything I ate was delicious, and I dearly miss the pink lemonade. DO NOT skip the pink lemonade. Its out of this world! Tried out this great little diner and absolutely loved it! We didn t wait long for food and it was delish! My hubby had a sub sandwich and I had a breakfast hash. The gluten free bread I had with it was impressively good and the cinnamon spread is divine! It s clear that it s all homemade, even their salad dressings and sauces, which makes it so much better! Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. Definitely going back again! They also have things you can buy and take home, which we did! Dietary restrictions: Most of their items can be ordered gluten free and it doesn t mean they just leave off the bread. They give you really good gluten free bread!

I went to this place today for lunch. They had brunch buffet, and it was quite delicious. The food was warm and tasty, and the staff were polite. Very nice little restaurant.

I came here with my son and I was excited to see the menu. However, on the day we came in they were only serving brunch and the menu was incredibly limited. I had a hash brown bowl with eggs, bacon, and hollandaise sauce. It was ok...I cant say it was great or terrible. They have a small kids menu and I liked my sons chicken fingers and fries better than my brunch options. This restaurant also operates as a market? There are things all around the restaurant for people to buy like jams and pickles. The one wall near where we sat was just large coolers filled with food for their catering and market foods for people to buy. Overall I was not very happy with my experience here. The restaurant is crowded and not overly comfortable. The market aspect of the place adds to how crowded and busy it felt. I was disappointed with the food for the price I paid. The staff was very quick and friendly and they treated my son like a king, which I found sweet.

This is my favorite place to eat. Great comfort food, everything is homemade, even things like the jam, salad dressings, the sausage, etc. Its just so tasty! Portions are good, I never walk away hungry. I highly recommend the Bacon Breaky Bowl if you go there for breakfast, it is so delicious! They also have a lot of market stuff for sale, like their jams, chips and dip, frozen meals, etc. I always recommend eating here, its a must.

Chef Stella put together the most delicious Valentine s meal for two- We couldn t finish it all! Mama s spinach and ricotta Cannelloni was amazing. You could tell it was made with all Mama s love! We honestly didn t know where to start eating- Tiramisu first? Now we are just digesting! Stella s Diner made our Valentine s evening extra special We ended with tiramisu for two (avec strawberries) and a lovely movie. A perfect evening, indeed. Thank you Chef Stella and crew!

My mom suggested we try Chef Stella for Sunday brunch - heads up they serve brunch only Sundays - bit the selection will leave you wanting for nothing! Excellent potatoes, and the typical breakfast fare- eggs, fluffy pancakes, ham, and bacon. All good quality. But the piece de resistance was for me- their fruit sauces. Nice tartness to their peach and cherry sauces meant for the pancakes, but I topped their maple apple crisp with whipping cream and fruit sauce- to die for!! Reservations appreciated. Good service. Definitely plan to go back when we are back in town....... and mom lives here locally and will also bring friends she said!! Oh wait - the homemade Italian chorizo sausage! Yum!

If you are craving soul food, you need to come here. Not only the food is delicious, but the service is great. They were kind enough to spoil me with Mammas Italian Morning, a dish that hasnt been on the menu for 6 years! 100% recommended.

My son and I have been going to Chef Stellas for the last 3 or so years ( my son is turning 6 ). We have made it a tradition to go for brunch when able! The brunch has changed multiple times over the years, but one thing has always remained GREAT FOOD and amazing choices! For the breakfast you can usually find pancakes, scrambled eggs, crumbled Italian sausage and peppers (spicy) bacon or ham, fairly new to the menus has seen homemade biscuits and as well as the popular eggs Benny.The lunch choices are just as varied anything from taco bake,pulled pork, perogies or lasagna ( best in the city According to both me and my son) !! Then you can find the baked goods which you may get to eat scones, doughnuts, or pies. Everything in this family owned restaurant is crafted and made from scratch by hand by amazing chefs with care and love. The buffet is running the first weekend of the month consistently. Don t sleep on this amazing place to eat, if you do you re missing out for sure!! This has always been and will continue to be our go to brunch spot!! We have always enjoyed Chef Stellas diner - in-store and take-out -- a downtown treasure. Last night we had Chef Stella provide a catered feast, a Feast! for a family special occasion. Spectacular meal, rave reviews from all, and so happy we went to Chef Stellas, and gave her and her team space and time to create! The only complaints were from people who took too much for their second, or third, helpings. Now we are looking forward to left-overs, tonight.

Chef, Stella prepared the food for our sons gift opening brunch the day after his wedding. It was on a Sunday and Manu came in on her day off to prepare the food for us, so that we wouldn t have to reheat food from the day before. The food was amazing. And at a very reasonable price and they even let us borrow the warmers to keep the food hot during the morning. I can t say enough about this business and I would recommend them to anyone. Absolutely amazing

She helped out with diet restrictions and limitations, had hot, delicious, homemade pastas and salads ready to go promptly. The homemade cream puffs for dessert were incredibly delicious. We had a late lunch of pulled pork with homemade chips which sent everyone into a frenzy. Everyone could not get enough of the delicious food. All the servers did such a great job too. They were so helpful to all our guests and were so friendly. All around the best experience. Chef Stella s is amazing and I would recommend to everyone on the planet. Such a great job! So so so so so good.

Was working in the area and went in and ordered my lunch. Was the best burger and fries I have ever had in years.. food is all homemade. There was absolutely no short cuts in making their food. To be honest that place goes beyond with their food, service. Best place ever. I recommend them 100%.

Absolutely phenomenal. I used to live in Lethbridge and loved this place, now I live in Calgary and every time you we MUST go to Stella s. Best brunch in Alberta! Do yourself a favour and get the scone, translucent with butter and so amazing with jam. Shout out to Simona for todays stellar service!

Had a lovely breakfast. It was a large portion, more than I could eat. They were very accommodating to make slight changes to my breakfast, which was very kind & made it that much more delicious. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Parking: Right out front. Lots of spots.

I want to give a big shout out to Chef Stella diner & catering! I have been very eager to eat there as I heard amazing reviews! Well they do not disappoint! For real, if you like a meatball sub theirs is the best hands down! As is the Mozzarella mushroom burger topped with a homemade mozza stick! The fries are homemade and seasoned perfectly! Their creativity and passion shows in their delicious food! They also make homemade delicious jellies, scones, antipasto, and now my absolute favorite Cinnamon Spread! Talk about nostalgic! This brought me back to my childhood! My dad always had Cinnamon spread in the cupboard for me and my brother! Stellas makes their own and its better then the original! Thank you for bringing me down memory lane! Please if you are in Lethbridge head to down to Stellas for breakfast, lunch or dinner! They cater too! Think about hiring them for your special event! They even have Christmas and New Years Day dinner takeout! Please support local businesses!

We were in Lethbridge on Saturday the 2nd for The Big Christmas Market and wanted to check out a local restaurant. We decided on Stellas as we were in the area! It was a busy day everywhere downtown but we only had to wait a bit while they bussed their empty tables. The menu at the door was way more extensive than the menu that was handed to us. Im assuming thats because theres a dinner menu as well?? I was going to ask our waitress but she was run off her feet as they were super busy! We ordered the Mushroom Burger with fries and the Ham and Tomato Eggs Benedict. The Eggs Benny was delish but the cubed hash browns were way overcooked (side fruit was fresh). The Mushroom Burger patties were dry but seasoned well and the mushrooms were cut so thin you could see through them. The fryer must have been too hot because the fries were as overcooked as the hash browns. I left satisfied because I ordered the Benny but my BFF left unsatisfied and down $25. We gave the farm cats her leftovers but I ate mine for breakfast the next day. She is just going to have to order the Benny next time she visits (if she wants to go to Stellas again that is!) EDITTED to include: When my BFF comes back for a visit and if we make it to back to Lethbridge, we will try Stellas again. I will let the staff know who we are so that they can make it up to my pal! Thanks Stellas for offering this to her! Parking: Parking downtown Lethbridge has always been a nightmare! Nice thing is evenings and weekends are free! I feel bad for businesses downtown.
