Great renovated restaurant and the best fish & cops and breaded shrimp

All you can eat fish yummy. The newly renovated restaurant is very fresh. Very neat. Very very updated. Management and staff are incredible. This business is locally owned and operated. Love Joeys. Have been a customer for years.

First time at this restaurant since the renovations. Menu is now incredibly limited and I realize this is a fish restaurant but you d think they d have chicken strips or something for non seafood eaters accompanying their family. Meals are served on metal trays that made the amount of food look pathetic and also it was just awkward to eat off a tray. Ordered battered shrimp and it was nothing like I ve had in all of my previous visits. Hardly any batter at all and very greasy. Was served some fries that were luke warm and had to wait for the rest of the serving, those arrived quite a bit later but at least they were hot. Gravy was lumpy and cold. Used to love this restaurant so overall it was really disappointing. Would not recommend and will not return.

Recently renovated and looks beautiful! The food is fantastic with some fantastic deals and the staff are absolutely the sweetest, inviting you in with a smile and warm welcome!

This experience was very disappointing. I went with friends. I used to love the food and was really looking forward to this. It has been years since I was here. It was Joeys only. The restaurant was clean and inviting. We were greeted. It was a bit of a longer wait to receive our food but not bad. I only seen one Chef and they had other orders. He was doing what he could. Upon ordering, there was a gluten free fish order. It came out on a separate, lets call it platter, along with the reg battered fish. It was brought to my attention and said to take it back and fix it please. I suggested to redo it as arts of yhe meal would get cold. His wife said she would take it so they have it to her instead and didnt fix their mistake. He ended up eating a reg fish which didnt compute why they would order a special meal. The presentation wasnt up to par. It was served on a small cookie sheet with brown parchment to line it. The fish was dry. I tried the indian infused batter. It was bland. The Mango pickle tarter sauce was inedible. I wont be back

The fish has gotten so thin and over fried, while the fries are under cooked. No more coleslaw with all you can eat. Slow service. Wife had a bad tasting piece of fish last night and now has food poisoning. Sadly our favorite fish place since I was a kid in the 80s and a place I worked for in calagry is no longer what it used to be at all. Wont be returning.

The service here is always very good. The food is fresh. The fish is great, and therere a selection of tasty menu items if fish isnt your favorite. I eat here with my family because they really like fish and its generally not my favorite, but even when I decide to try some here, I have to say, its very good.

I came for dinner with ny mom and granny. And the hostess was so nice she rushed to the door to hold it open for us so I could bring my granny in with her wheelchair. And they where very accommodating of us needing a table for her chair. :)

Not a great return. Well we returned to give Joeys a second chance since the renos. Well the place does look great. The food went down hill. We ordered the halibut 3 piece 2 pieces were raw. Such a turn off. We will never return now. Our server was very gracious and discounted our meal.

Since renovation, I ve only done take out but it looks great at the Lethbridge location. Fish is always light and crispy! Even with take out, just a few minutes in air fryer and fish n chips are kitchen fresh again. Great staff too. Parking: Ample parking at strip mall location

We went to Joey s after the new renovations, and were pleasantly surprised by the uplifting and attractive decor! We ordered calamari and clam chowder for appetizers, and both were excellent. We had the fish sandwich and chicken sandwich as mains. The plating is innovative, if a bit restrictive. The meals were good enough, but the buns were a tad burnt, and the brown rice a wee bit dry. For desserts, we ordered the non-baked lemon cheesecake and the deconstructed carrot cake. Both ideas promised more than what was delivered, mind you. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. We will go again

The renovation is very nice and was much needed. We like the higher booth,feels a little more private. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla ,it was bland and on the cold side. Wasn t impressed with it ,won t get that again. My wife ordered the street tacos which she usually loves but they also where on the cold side and not as tasty has had been in the past. Seemed like it took longer than usual to get our food

My husband went and picked up an order of fish and chips last night I rarely ever give reviews but I must today They were the worst fish and chips we ve ever had in our 65/75 years! So very disappointing There was NO fish at all!!! The pieces were less than 2 wide !! We measured them I m including a picture My husband wanted to head right back and if it were not for having to babysit our grandsons we would have ! Needless to say we won t be going again and that s sad because growing up in the Maritimes we love Fish and Chips!

The building is renovated . Looks fantastic .. however the staff and very slow and 18 minutes for 2 piece fish . On all u can eat Tuesday. . And forever for fish refil ... wont be back .. to many chances given . Know is Time to voice my opinion

The new reno is absolutely beautiful. I really like the design elements! The service was really friendly and prompt. Our meal was delicious! I was nervous about the gluten free pan seared option but it far exceeded my expectations. We ll be back! :)

My girlfriend and I both Seniors went back again tonight for supper. We had already been last night for their 2 for1 special & were so impressed with the renovations which were recently done, the all over cleanliness, the friendly staff, the service but most of all the quality of the food. This was the last night to enjoy the promotion of the 2 for 1 & we again had the Haddock, 2 delicious & large pieces of fish with homemade fries for $22.00. Will be going back again for sure. I would recommend Joeys to anyone. Thanks Joeys for a wonderful supper 2 nights in a row. See you again soon. Parking: Big parking lot. Very good fish & chips. Although the last time we went service was very poor. Restaurant was about half full. 2 waiters up front- one came by once when we first got in to give us menus- we had a coupon so we already knew what we were getting. We presented the coupon to her and assumed she knew what we wanted especially because she didn t come back to the table for 20 minutes. She came back 20 minutes later and asked us what we would like to order. We both looked at each other and laughed because we had been sitting there for 20 minutes and we had already presented the coupons you d think she knew what we wanted or if she didn t she would come back sooner to actually take our order. I understand mistakes happen, she obviously forgot about us lol.

My partner had ordered the pan fried snapper a month ago and we were sat right near the kitchen and heard the staff asking if they were still subbing the pollock in place of the snapper, which the manager agreed. No one came to the table to confirm the change was okay. I guarantee at that place you are NOT eating what you think you are. We walked out after canceling our order prior to getting it. The manager claimed he did not know that pollock and snapper were different fish.

Update 2023 Really glad Joey s has survived the last 2 years. It s still one of our favourite places to eat in Lethbridge. Great food and service. This Joeys is always busy because their food is excellent. Its the only Joeys Only that has never disappointed. Went again. Tried the tempura green beans and a special treat from the owner, a deep fried pickle. I couldnt believe how delicious the pickle was! The beans were also very good. We are always treated very well by the owners and staff. The food is delicious. I dont recommend other Joeys but I highly recommend this one. The atmosphere and seating are much nicer than others weve been too. The food is hot fresh and so good. They were more than happy to let me brew and make my own sugar free iced tea. We had the fish and chips for 2 for $20. Includes endless beverages a huge pieces of their battered fish...more than I can eat at lunchtime with chips and their yummy coleslaw and you get to share any dessert from the menu. We chose the kit Kat cheesecake that was excellent. We also took advantage of the 3 appetizers for $15 deal so we could try some new items. Everything right down to the dipping sauces were well matched and perfect accompaniments. I had to get half of my meal and dessert to go. It was enough for supper. For fish and seafood the prices are quite reasonable with something on special each day of the week. You wont leave hungry. We have always been very happy with the food the selection new menu items the service and the bill.

Took my Aunt out tonight to celebrate with my partner and I gotta say what an extreme disappointment this was. The service was okay not the best by any means. The food was terrible and that s putting it nicely! It came out on a tin tray! Honestly reminded me of prison food! I was absolutely in shock and embarrassed that I took my Aunt and partner here. The food presentation was a joke and especially just slopped onto the prison tray ! Last time I ate here they used plates and bowls! The food came out cold and just overall didn t taste very good! I actually sent mine back and it came back the same if not worse but I tried my hardest to take a few bites and had to call it quits! I wouldn t feed it to my dog! Nothing was compensated ! I love paying for terrible food and bad service! I should have known by how disgusting the bathrooms were just to leave at that point! I could only imagine how the kitchen looked! Also I had the chance of overhearing the waitress saying to another waitress that nobody has been cleaning the tables! I would never recommend coming hear ever! Completely avoid it and I will never come back!! $70 for trash! | Editing this review id give this now a half star because this was 2 months ago and as you can see the manger has commented below and did email me but since then has done nothing to help with the situation or anything! I even emailed back to see what could have been done and nothing from them. They obviously just comment on here to look good without actually fixing anything! Awesome food great service, however the older male server told me that the next I come, Ill have to show a vaxx code. I told him, not on your life will I do that. He smirked at me, and I left. I met with the owner regarding some excellent business, but never heard back after a few texts. All good though, I still enjoy the fish. I may go back one day for sure

floor was sticky, tables werent cleaned. Only two people working a cook and a waitress, one more person working would have been nice to at least clean up after people leave, wiping down tables.

Poor service. Like they barely acknowledged us and then we sat for 20 minutes with no menus none of the tables were very clean, they had a cook in the back with no hairnet on his beard that s a obvious health violation. We just got up and left. I will be complaining to their head offices about it too cause that s just ridiculous.

The food was excellent as always. The service was very good. The restaurant was busy, but we still got our food quickly. Our table had the fish and shrimp combo with sweet potato fries and coleslaw, fish tacos and calamari rings . The portion sizes were huge! Good thing we shared. The food was hot and fresh and very good. For dessert we all had the deep-fried mocha mud pie, which was very good. We missed the 5 for 25 off the old menu, but were satified with the food we ordered . We missed the instore homemade cheesecake, but still enjoyed our meal so much. The food was good the service was terrible. When we walked in we were told to sit and waited over 10 mins for a menu. They were not busy. We ordered appetizer and got it after we had a our supper.

We ordered Fish and Chips through Skip the Dishes. When our meals arrived, the chips were cold and limp, the fish was soggy and did not come with tartar sauce or lemon as promised on the menu, the coleslaw was bland. I could not finish my meal so into the bin it went. I sorely regret that I spent $30+ dollars (including tip) on something that was so unpalatable.

After were a bit disappointed on Sunday, because they were closed until 12PM, we got us fisch and chips on Teusday. Not much of fisch it was more doughy but the fries were good. Too bad because I use to love Joeys. Food
