I got Married Feb 15th, 2024. We ate at Friendly Chinese Restaurant for our reception. We were allowed to decorate if needed and had the back of the Restaurant to ourselves. The owner and staff were kind, and efficient. Food was hot and amazing. Lots of choices and the cheese wontons were a hit! I highly recommend My Husband unfortunately lost his wedding band sometime from the venue at the Lindsay Lounge to Friendly Restaurant. The owner and staff checked garbages, floors & , security cameras. She the owner went completely out of way as she knew how important my husbands wedding was to us. Such an wonderful group of people and the food is incredible too!! Update my husband found his original wedding band. Dietary restrictions: Under special circumstances the owner allowed us to bring in outside food for a child. Thank you for your kindness and understanding.

Wasn t too happy waiting almost 2 hours for my delivery after calling a few times to figure out where my delivery was. Every time I called, they kept saying an hour not very happy with how the delivery is especially when you ask them kindly to track where the driver is other than that the food is good just wasn t happy with their delivery They need temp proof communication with that

If I could give zero stars, I would. Absolutely terrible. We Ordered delivery, after an hour and a half I called the restaurant. They had no idea what was going on. I asked what the status of my order was, they then told me it would be another 20 minutes. About 10 mins later, I got a call from the delivery driver asking if i ordered, I said yes. He then told me they gave him the apt number506. I said no, and gave them the correct number. He said he had been there and would come back. Few minutes pass and he calls me again saying they tried to get in and couldnt. I then went to our lobby to retrieve my order and the lady with him asked ME if it was already paid for. When we got our food, it was cold and they had forgotten our drinks as well. For the price of the food, this is unacceptable service. We will never be a customer here again.

Stopped here for the first time. It was fantastic, we had to wait a little while since the buffet didn t open until 11:30, however food was delicious and lots of selection. We waiting a little too long for our drinks to arrive but overall it was a good place!

Theyre remodelling so hopefully a better atmosphere for others. For me it reminded me of San Francisco. The Americanized food, with the authentic peanut oil smells from the kitchen staffs lunches. You do get value for your money here. they have adapted their menu and service style to reflect the dining crowd. If more people come with a higher class and events, the management will provide service that reflects that. The retail store next to it has amazing finds from Amazon and comicons. A sure visit to walk off those carbs. Vegetarian options: Lots of vege options

Was nicely surprised at how good the buffet was. Great selection. Keep in mind it s a small buffet so once some of the dishes run out, they don t get refilled. Salad was good, main options were good, dessert was OK. Cheese Wontons were the best I ve ever had!

I am absolutely appalled at this restaurant. I went there this evening with my family. Yesterday I called at around 3:30 and asked their prices, I was told by an employee for lunch and dinner that they charge $3 for children 2 and under and $17.75 for adults. Tonight, I was charged $47.98 for my husband and myself and $8 for my 2 year olds. That in total is $14.48 difference that I was charged vs told on the phone. Which may not seem like a lot but for a young family who wants to have a nice night out that $15 is a lot! I called them this evening to speak to a manager, and she was rude and reiterated the prices over and over like I was stupid and didn t understand what I was being told. And then to put the cherry on top, I was hung up on by the manager before I was done speaking. So naturally I called back and my call was declined. So I called back again and spoke to a different person to finish what I was saying. I will never step foot in this restaurant again. Horrible customer service. The food was mediocre for what they are charging. If I could give 0 stars I would.

We were in town for medical appointments and decided to go here for dinner, Very Disappointing, food was only Luke warm and limited. Service was very poor, the waiter disappeared and had to go ask for someone to clear the table and refill our water. There has to be new owners since we were there last.( it used to be very good). Definitely will NOT be back.

Today on 1st of January we went to explore Lindsay, while doing that we saw friendly restaurant and checked for reviews its 3.5 doubted and decided to give a try. Ordered beef fried rice waiter said 1/2 hour for order to be ready we placed and went out and went back after 1.5 hours still said not ready yet. Somehow they gave my order after another 1/2 hour we went out and tried in our car. Literally I swear on god taste like white rice. No egg, veg or any kind of favour. Just 4 tiny shaving beef. Paid $9.60 with tax. Then I realize how come its even got 3.5 star rating? In one word it the worst fried rice I have ever tried in my life so far. Shame on chef who prepares food with no passion. Shame on you guys.

Didnt care for the egg rolls, or beef and broccoli. Shrimp wasnt deveined. Chicken balls were mostly dough. Noodles, lemon chicken, and skewers were good. Jello fish were adorable. Staff were friendly, if distracted.

Cheap and promising, voila the food was almost inedible, wontons were just rough and doughy. Sesame chicken was also gristly and tasted almost like cinnamon.

Literally watch the owners son, who is approximately between maybe four and six, play with the food in the Buffet. My family witnessed him open a bottle of Coke at the bar, laugh and dump it on the floor, while seniors were making their way up to the Buffet. I witness this kid take chicken balls out of the Buffet And throw them against the wall, where his mother picked them up and threw them back into the Buffet. Disgusting, this child is not supervised and his privilege to do whatever while people are eating. Screaming and acting like he s wild was so annoying and uncomfortable. I would never return to this place ever. It s a public health health issue

Amazing family owned buffet! Absolutely loved the food. Great selection and amazing price for all you can eat. The cream cheese wontons were to die for and so were their noodles. Although my fiance and I came in an hour to close, they made sure we had the best service! They greeted us and sat us at a table immediately and told us if we wanted something that has run out in the buffet area, they would be happy to fill it for us! They were also very quick to fill our drinks and take away our dirty plates. Amazing service! Was very very pleased. I also loved the atmosphere in general. Gave me nostalgia from growing up going to family owned buffets. I will definitely be back and recommend this place to everyone.

We had the dinner buffet, everything we had was good, service was very good.

The food is always great. I love their fried rice, spring rolls and wonton soup. The pork with veggies is so yummy! The only dish I wish was a little better is the General Tao chicken. The breading is not very crispy and the chicken isn t coated in the sauce. So it doesn t all get sauce when you mix it at home.

Gotta appreciate the value of these reviews. I was literally sitting in the parking lot of a competitor when I decided to check the reviews. I couldnt get away from there fast enough and head here, to Friendlys. I had the buffet. I dont need to go into more detail other than to say that the other positive reviews are accurate. Good value, good food, clean place.

Easily the most blandest Canadian Chinese buffet I ve had in years. I ordered the lunch buffet and a Coke. I came around midway through their lunch service. I started out with the noodles and beef and broccoli. These were OK, but then I tried pork spareribs and lemon chicken, and felt my tastebuds die in sugar syrup. All these dishes were very boring and plain, but for $18 I didn t expect much. Even the Coke tasted like it was watered down. The service was fine, and the wait staff were nice. Bathrooms were old, but clean. I don t plan on ever eating there again, and I feel like I wasted my money. I would ve had a much tastier experience eating anywhere else.

If I could give it a 0, I would. In my top 3 worst Chinese restaurants I have ever ordered from. Egg rolls tasted like they were rotten. The Lemon Chicken was completely full of gristle. The Wonton soup was awefull, especially the pork. The only thing barely edible was the rice. I couldn t eat more than a few forks full. The entire order went straight to the garbage. I will never return to this establishment. They should be condemned. Just threw away $32.00. However, the can of Coke was good.

First time disappointed. One dish we ordered was Beef with Vegetables and Almonds. It had Beef slices on top, Pork on the bottom. Didnt get what we paid for.

If you dont feel like reading this. Take my advice and DO NOT EAT HERE. We only ever get take out from Friendlys, and for years its been good. Not great but a bang for the buck, and all the food got eaten. I dont know who took it over but I wasted $50.00 yesterday, and will never return. I think the frozen Chinese food from the grocery store is better than what they are dishing out right now! The food was horrible! The only thing edible was the fortune cookies and egg rolls. I dont know what mystery meat they are using but it actually made my wife sick to her stomach. Im really sad this place changed hands. Time to look for a new Chinese place!

Very pleasantly surprised. The soo guy chicken was tender, crispy and divine. Veggie fried rice was perfect. Egg rolls good, and the chicken chow mien was filled with fresh crispy sprouts, shreds of carrots, and succulent pieces of chicken.

I dont enjoy sharing negative reviews but I have decided its time for me to speak. I started eating from the restaurant 2 years ago during the pandemic. My family and I really enjoyed the food. But a year later the food wasnt as enjoyable as it used to be, this is because the next day there would be something negative awaiting. I got diarrhea twice after eating from this place, I have vomited once after eating, and most recently I have gotten nausea from eating. But I have also experienced our order being 2 hours late to arrive which my second experience of diarrhea occured the following day. I didnt say anything sooner because my family still really loved it and I kept thinking; Maybe its just this once, or maybe it is just a coincidence. But since I dont get sick often and I have gotten sick 4/7 times I have eaten there, I have made my choice to give my review.

Hardly anything on the buffet table

Not as good as it used to be before closing for COVID. Not sure if its under new ownership or what. The buffet had lots of empty dishes as the kitchen didnt seem in to much if a hurry to refill them. The fried rice had an off taste and the ain rice was like a brick... While it was ok we wont be in a hurry to return.

Every time I order pickup from this place, it is never ready on time. I called today to order only 1 dish, which shouldnt be too difficult to manage, one might think. I even called 90 minutes in advance, but when I got there to pick it up, it wasnt ready. We are just packing your food now I am told. 5 minutes later, they are still packing the food. I walked out, will never try them again.

Very fair prices. The food was was very fresh and it was a very clean place. I would definitely go back. Dont let the old sign out front fool you. it does no justice to how good and clean it is on the inside.

Terrible food, In my opinion this is the worst Chinese food restaurant in Lindsay. While the buffet my be feasible for the Lindsay folk, the food is expensive when ordering single dishes delivery which is common during the time of covid. The General Tsos chicken was very embarrassing, you can get actually good food at other local Chinese restaurants for cheaper. My Gf accidentally made a $70 order because it was the only Chinese food place open. When it arrived and I found out it was friendlys I let out a sigh and said what a waste, she agreed after viewing the contents.

We ordered yesterday for the first time. The family dinner for five. Everything in the order was really good tasting and they were good portion sizes as well. The only thing I noticed was that the breaded shrimp wasnt de-veined but I was able to it myself without issue. I will definitely order again. Thanks!

So I was there this past Sunday to pick up my takeout order which I was told would be ready for 1715. Upon arrival, I noticed there was nothing to sanitize my hands with anywhere in site. With covid I would expect that at both entry points to the restaurant. There were 3 people ahead of me when I arrived waiting for their orders as well. It took a solid 20 minutes or so before staff even acknowledged me standing there and asked for my order number. At one point someone came in after me and their order was ready before mine, talk about frustrating. I get the phone was ringing but customer service needs to improve. It took an additional 40 minutes from the time I was told my order would be ready for pickup (1715) to when I walked out the door. Was offered to take a seat while I waited but that wasnt happening since I didnt know when things were last cleaned. When I asked for a discount because I had to wait an extra 40 minutes, it was as though the staff had to think about it. I mean come on customer service. When they said yes they wanted to know what free item I wanted right then and there, not to mention she wrote my info down on their hand. I was looking for a discount on the meal I just ordered not a free item. I will not be going back here and I would not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends. Im all for supporting local businesses but I will not be taking my business back there until I see some vast improvement.

Would not recommend this place! Chicken wings were black on the inside, rice was burnt, soup was bland and chicken was tough and dry. Charged for plates and cutlery but didnt not inform they were doing that. Waited over an hour and a half for delievery. Not impressed with the food quality at all.

We started visiting this establishment 20 years ago and food was fresh and they topped up the dishes at regular intervals. On our visit back, post Covid, on Aug 8, 2021 the food was terribly dry and at the dinner hour of 5:45pm most of the chafing dishes were empty with no intention of replenishing them. I requested for them to bring more food and was told that it is on the way after waiting for over 30 minutes nothing had been replenished but was told again it was coming. Theyve hiked the price for the buffet to $17.95 and its not worth it when they cant even top up the food available during the dinner hour. Would rather save my money and go to a Mandarin. When I told the owner how disappointed we were she comped out tea (which is worth $1.00) so they really do not care. Not ever going back after this awful experience.

I used to eat here regularly but I will never be returning after tonight. We got there over an hour from the end of the buffet. Basically everything was empty. One of the lady comes up and asks us what we want as thats all they will make and they wont make alot... It was rudely worded but I let this go. It continued to go down from there. The food quality has gone terribly down. Tasted like cardboard and boardering on not edible. I wouldnt have left a review for these things but the final problem almost caused me to lose it. One of the workers had their young son at work. He spent the majority of the time running around the dining area SCREAMING. He noticed my service dog tucked politely under the table and proceeded to stand behind us screaming, jumping towards her, running away doing everything to distract her. I suffer from seizures and this can be down right dangerous and to see a staff members son doing this. I asked the lady at front can you please get control of your son. Her response was to laugh at me!!! It took another lady speaking up and saying something for them to do anything. After taking there kid to the back they spent the remainder of the time talking between themselves on how they should have us leave. Completely disgusted

Grocery store Chinese foot Is 10x better. The general tso has clumps of BBQ sauce on it, the chicken balls have no flavor but batter, the chicken noodles is a mixture of Mr noodles and soy sauce, absolutely disgusting.

Worst Chinese food ever! Switched out dishes as they ran out of bbq pork even though I ordered for dinner at 2pm, mushroom fried rice had no mushrooms and tasted like plastic, no wontons, lemon chicken full of grizzle, overall a very bad experience!!

Do NOT order for Christmas Eve. Ordered my family s dinner for 6pm days ahead. Was then told I ordered it for 7pm (not the case) and when we went to pick it up again at 7pm we waited in line for an hour and finally got the order at 8pm.

Since new owners took over the restaurant has taken a 360 turn for the better. Their buffet is the largest by far in our area. The food is better and the front end staff are friendlier. The dining area is generally clean. My biggest critique is parking. It is always limited at that location.

It has a great buffet, great service, not to busy, they were very diligent on refills for our beverages. The food wasnt anything to crow about but its probably the better Chinese food in town, plus its an all you can eat buffet, I will go back for a lunch sometime.

I have been here before, wasn t impressed. We got take out last year, forgot items and food was bland as could be. Recently craved Chinese food, was the only one open sooo thought what the hell... and omg was I surprised! The Cantonese chow mein was delicious! The wonton soup was delicious! EVERYTHING was delicious! Have since ordered again and still has good! Thank you for pulling your socks up! Very impressed and don t think twice about ordering from here now!

Oh my lord. The woman that works there is absolutely disgusting. We ordered take out. And she had salad dressing all over her mouth. Trying to chew back some sort of salad as she gave me my food. Get some class lady. Hard to believe shes allowed to handle food. And they dont put enough meat in their food. Ill never be back. Place is pretty gross inside as well.

The place has great food and the price is fairly cheap

Main course is okay but seriously no good dessert ever now. Cant even have chocolate ice cream. Thats basic.

Classless place, waitresses standing around with hands in their pockets. No uniforms or name tags, one woman wore a batman shirt, how unprofessional is that. Bought takeout, new owner must be cutting costs, red sauce was thin and runny, lemon chicken had barely any sauce so heating it up this morning there was no point ): My take out wasnt hot when i got home? Why do i only have to bring cash for just take out? After i reheated it, it was good.

buffet had no flavor food was all greasy server looked like they didnt want to be there.

Food was fresh, hot and super tasty!! Great deal with the dinner for 4. Our new go to for Chinese!
