Was excited to have lunch there with my family and when we were seated the waitress told us that our two kids would eat for free, because that is their Sunday promotion. We proceeded to order and eat and when the bill came the kids meals were on the bill. I asked why this was and a different waitress told us that kids only eat free after 2pm. It was 2pm on the dot at this point. I told her what we were told when we were seated and the waitress just shrugged and said her coworker made a mistake. Then said next time you can get this deal. However we won t be going back. Very disappointed they mislead us and then didn t honour it. It was their mistake. Parking: Lots of spots.

Really good food and service! My only complaint was I had a really good steak but the accompanying rice and vegetables were very bland.

Came in at 3pm on a Tuesday afternoon after a work meeting. My coworker and I ordered cocktails an appetizer and two mains. I received a mango strawberry daiquiri and they received their b52. my daiquiri was garnished with a withered up strawberry. i promptly removed it and placed it on the side plate that the server had given us earlier. Our appy was the bruschetta flatbread which came with a very thick dark black hair on it. We decided to remove it and continue eating as we hadnt eaten all day due to meetings and location and and were very hungry. We did bring it to our servers attention after it was placed on the side plate. Mains come and surprise surprise another hair! This time we returned the food got our cheque and started on our route back to our city. We didnt even make it to the next ton over before we had terrible stomach aches and had to stop. Im positive we got food poisoning or salmonella!

Visited there once wont visit again , employees does not get wages on time food is so bad and expensive. Running such a big place and employees doesnt get paid. The services are the poorest, cheap but food quality not up to the mark. I found things that I wanted were out of stock, after I get was also not so good. I wasted my time and money going there. I would recommend everyone not to visit there if you want to save time.

Our server, Noor, was so helpful, cheerful, and patient with us. She made us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in to the time we left, even though we were there late. The petit filet and the pasta Fresca were yummy, and the hummingbird cake is our favourite.

This particular Symposium Cafe is very good. It is a chain restaurant and weve been to others all around GTA and while the menu is the same food was terrible. This location is great in that regard, food is consistently good and the service is decent as well. Menu is pretty big so youll definitely get something for everyone. You should try their cakes as well, they are amazing. Weve been going back fairly frequently. Vegetarian options: Decent selection of menu items for vegetarians.

This was my first visit to The symposium Cafe, which left me disappointed with the food quality, as my Cuban sandwich had dry pork, overcooked egg slathered with dripping mustard. The Mediterranean salad was floating in dressing but was very fresh. I was horrified when I got my bill of $13.95 for a piece of stale supposedly hummingbird cake! My waitress was amazingly attentive to my needs. I probably will never return.

This is the first time my wife and I have stopped back to the symposium in about 8 months. We ordered our go to items which is the steak bites, broccoli cheese soup and Mediterranean salad. The steak bites were over cooked and not the same recipe as before. My wife thought they were pork chops cut into little pieces. The broccoli cheese soup was Luke warm and the flavor was not broccoli not cheese flavor. The salad was just a vinegar salade not greek flavor at all. But the only good thing was the waitress was very understanding and very helpful. I would not recommend coming here as over priced for bad food.

Absolutely dreadful. Been coming here for the past 3 years for their steak bites. Food drastically changed. Always got the steak bites and broc/cheese soup. Steak bites looked like dead meat and tasted like pork. Soup was barely luke warm and salad was just vinegar. So sad. Do not eat here. Only thing half decent was the wine until I got the bill $22 for a 9oz!!!!!! Got ripped off as it was happy hour. Wasnt worth the argument or hassle by the end

After looking at SO many menu choices, I was really happy with what I ordered: the vegetable sandwich was warm and simple tasty, the coffee was awesome, then the dessert I had was so incredibly memorable (ice cream and fruit over a waffle). What a treat! The manager checked in with us to make sure we were happy and gave me a window tour of the other desserts I could try next time. This was an out of town visit for me. Not sure when I will get back. And highly recommended!

Tonight my husbands and I finally were able to have a date night as my mom watched our three children, our plan was to go to Kelseys but they are renovating and Boston Pizza was so so busy! So we thought we would go to the Symposium as a couple years ago we had a great meal there. WELL LET ME TELL YOU THIS, SAVE YOUR MONEY! DONT GO THERE!!! We ordered the Spinach Dip and it was so oiley and had thick big chucks of spinach, never in my life have I ever seen such terrible Spinach Dip! so we put it to the side, Now normally anywhere else I have been when you put something to the side that is untouched they would be right over to you asking whats wrong but not once did our waitress attend to us! Finally she comes over to us with my husbands meal and sees it and asks what is the matter? I told her and she takes it with such aditude. So here we are hubby has his food and Im still waiting for mine , 5 minutes later she comes back with mine, I ate the bread it came with and some of the noodles but I quickly put that to the side, as the sauces was watery which left my Chicken Alfredo very tasteless! All I could taste was plain noodles I was able to share my husbands ribs and wings and frys as that was yummy But when she finally came back to check on us, I told her what was wrong with my pasta and she gave me this face and smirk (like so rude) She comes back with the bill and omg she charged us for it and I didnt even touch it other then a couple noodles and the 1 slice of bread.17.95 for the noodles and then you pay 7.00 to have the chicken put in the Chicken Alfredo, so I spoke up and I said youre charging us for it? I said I hardly even touched it, it didnt take me long to discover it was terrible and because I ate the bread and a couple of noodles she has to charge me for it that is just ridiculous :/ So here we have spent 3.50 each on a fountain drink, my husbands meal and then my meal with a total of 72$ only for me to be HUNGRY AND UPSET in the end! So if you have been here and had a good experience youre very lucky, but if you havent been I dont recommend going the waitresses are rude, the service is horrible and the food is terrible! We definitely will never be recommending or going back to the Symposium in Lindsay,Ontario again!

My entree filet of steak was ordered medium rare. It was served well done and tough so I requested medium rare. It came back so tough that it wasnt edible. The waitress kept coughing without covering her mouth. I politely gave them every opportunity to make it right but they didnt. Will not return under this management

Today I went to symposium with my friends and I tried their Cappuccino, JD petit filet medium and Browine fudge cheese cake the food was so yummy. Good place with good food and ambiance. Good spot in Lindsay.

I still enjoy coming here bc they have a dish or two really enjoy. Theyve had more off days the last year or so though. The food wasnt as good or the servers (always very polite and kind) had to ask multiple times about drink or food orders. They need to put some more effort into some of their dishes (like the Portuguese style dinner, which my boyfriend said the sauce just tasted like Franks and didnt go well with the rice) and maybe give their waitstaff something to write orders down on or better training. Ill keep coming back in hopes they reach the standards they previously had and because of the zucchini and butter chicken bowls though.

Good food but noisy spot

Went twice today, first and last time . Ordered portebello mushrooms and fries , hubby had fish and chips , both were way over cooked and all batter . The mushrooms had a thick batter like the fish so no mushroom filling . Fries way over cooked and both meals tasted of heavy oil . Coleslaw was dry no dressing and the blue cheese dip for mushrooms was thin and not a chunky blue cheese dip. Hubby said his cold beer was the best part , I had a Caesar and it tasted like water from the quantity of melted ice ..Left both meals there paid the bill and walked out . Won t go back again .

Open when all are closed.. it was a treat, with the hosts of the place at service and ready to serve. Very efficient and responsive. My creme moccha cold coffee was awesome, and I think the rest of the people in our group enjoyed their meals as well..

The large plate is another restaurant in Lindsay. The small plate is what you get at the symposium. I have been a long-time customer for many years. A particular waitress will turn on you over a little piece of dessert, actually yelling at me because she sent me the wrong order and tried to blame me over it. So we no longer go there. And we spent at least $3,000 a month. There are many nicer places in Lindsay now. I wont say the name, but Ill give the initials. OIJ. The food is awesome, and the portions are huge. And the price is right, great wine, fresh food. Now we only spend $1,500 a month LOL.

Been a long time customer of symposium. My daughter found out she was pregnant and lived in Toronto. Se wanted to celebrate at symposiums here in Lindsay where I live. So we ask a particular waitress.to book a table for 8. She was very rude and told us well, what time do you want to come? So we set a time and she said you better be on time. That comment was absolutely shocking. Maybe she had a hard day but it was not called for. I no longer go to symposium and found a new place in Lindsay where the food is fresher, better atmosphere and the pricings are unbelievable. And the waitresses are so much more friendly. Not getting in bad moods like they did at symposium because theyre overworked. But being overworked doesnt justify being rude to customers. The new place we go to now is initialed OIJ....I wont mention any names, but theres the initials. They are awesome! Try them out.

The food was tasty, the portions large and the prices good. Our server was nice, and took her time with us when we asked about different menu items, . The ribs and wings are good. The salmon was cooked to perfection. The fish with the fish and chip done perfectly. Our only complaint was that they needed another server when the place got busy. The service was slower than a turtle took 30 minutes to get drinks an hour to get appetizers and then a little bit later got food worst place for time I couldve walked home and back and the food still wouldnt be there. one other time I got the chocolate milk and it was nesquick never coming back also had to send back food 2 times

Really cozy place for a catch up with friends. I ordered the fish tacos and it came with fries and a clam chowder. All the food was good and big portions, I ended up taking a full taco home with some fries too. The waiter was friendly and service was quick! Very fair price too! I d go here again.

It was an enjoyable experience at symposium, The burgers and fries were excellent and the atmosphere was great with a variety of music playing in the background. The decor is a collection of modern style around the bar with an impressive wall of wine on display; in contrast the rest of the interior is fashioned in ancient artwork and stone on the walls. Its really well done and worth visiting.

First visit and will be last, loud music is NOT conducive to good digestion to begin with... appetizer was great main meal was halibut special which was tasteless frozen piece of halibut which was cold and partially cooked watery and pasta was waitress returned back to kitchen, to end it all the 9 oz glass of merlot was 23.00.... per glass .. $160 dinner and never again at symposium.

I would avoid the place.Waited 30 min for drinks. Drinks were watered down all three of them.We left it unfinished. Appetizer came eventually and had a large piece of white ceramic in it. They still charged us for the drinks.We left right after that.

The Server was lovely, polite and attentive. The food was awful. I ordered the Spinach Cheese Dip - the pita bread was dried out and the dip was made of heated mayo, frozen spinach and a blob of cheese on top, that looked suspiciously like a Kraft cheese slice, melted. My friend had the Half special. Half a wilted salad and half of what was supposed to be bruschetta but looked very much like dried bread with chopped tomato and parsley on top. It was bad! The portions of food were very large (every person took home a doggie bag) and the service was great. We had 2 children under 3 and they were very accommodating in all of their needs as well.

This was my first time here, lovely place. Friendly staff , they took our drink order first and we told the server we just needed a bit more time to think about what to order for lunch. After 10 mins, the server didn t return. So we asked another one near by. The food was very good . I had the Chicken Bacon Club Delicious !! My mom had the Clam Chowder, it was wonderful. Thank You Wheelchair accessibility: It has wheelchair access but the door on the outside didn t open today when the button was pressed. This needs attention.

Went to the Symposium in Lindsay this evening and it was fantastic! Our server Yulia was super efficient and friendly as was the manager Nicky who gave us suggestions as to where to visit in the area and where to find more Symposium locations. The food was fresh , hot and was served without delay.

Took friends for dinner there in October 2022. The food was good. They never showed us a drink menu, ordered red wine. Cost $22 a glass, could have gone next door to LCBO and bought the same wine in a bottle for $20. Service was slow and not very friendly. Extremely disappointed, will not return and do not recommend.

Not great. We came in on a Sunday, very busy for the amount of staff. Everything took a very long time and food came out cool and old tasting. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Fries were cold. Chicken was dry and cold. It was seasoned with fennel, which is weird for chicken and waffles with maple syrup. The coleslaw was made with rice wine vinegar giving it an asian flare. The whole dish had mismatched flavours-it was weird and gross. Left 90% of it and never saw our server again after she initially brought the food out. Didn t receive any drink refills. She didn t seem to care/ ask when she took plates away. Will never return

As the only people in the restaurant over Thanksgiving weekend, we were able to overhear the manager Roxanne talking extremely condescendingly to all members of her staff at the bar and making her employee cry, then having the audacity to ask her why her eyes are watering . It made us beyond uncomfortable. When pulling the girl aside to ask if she was okay - Roxanne came running over to our table to interfere and was rude giving us our final bill. Her service and demeanour left us with more than a bad taste in our mouth. We left as soon as possible because of the environment. Inexcusable behavior from a manager, not to mention she is a white woman with a racially diverse staff.

Pretty subpar breakfast. I ordered the eggs Benny with regular bacon and it came with peameal bacon anyway. The meal needed a good amount of salt added and lacked flavour.

Not great ...75 dollars for breakfast for 3 service was good but price forwhat you get was out of line, bacon was microwave ready crisp definitely not worth what we paid.

Menu is a little overwhelming there are so many choices. But once youve decided, the food was good - although one of my group was not impressed with the country sausage. Service was excellent - wide open venue, would be great for sports event or large group.

Went for breakfast with thirty other seniors. They knew we were coming. Arrived at 9:30 finished at 11:30.(some at 9:00) No coffee served until 10:00 breakfasts came 11:00 all mixed up Excuse was evening cook can t cook breakfasts. Won t be back

It looked great but failed to deliver flavorful coffee and cake. No parties in a cafe was a let down. You really are resto. Not a good coffee place.

Our waitress, Lorian, was attentive and friendly. She didn t hover but often looked over to see if we needed anything, then came promptly if we did. She was training Shelby, who was quick to learn and helpful. Food was great. We will definitely come back!

So We had picked up garbage old soggy southern fried chicken and chips and butter chicken dish with a 15$ slice of carrot cake and almost 70$ later I decided to call them about the meal The lady was reasonable and offer to replace the meal 30-40 min later this guys call wanting a picture of the food I told him was in the garbage and he wanted a picture so here it is!!!! CHEF: 1 taste your food 2 dont question old food 3 do your job! and cook the food you sell the same day I will never ever again dig in my garbage to prove to you its in the garbage even if i ate it its still junk and no where near 25$/per plate like this the fact you called 30-40 min after the lady had already told me she would replace the meals, next time you can just refund the money and keep yo7u food or i will never go again as you cant be trusted to fix a cheese sandwich Lovely day Cheers>

Friendly, fast and efficient! Noor is an excellent ambassador and represents this establishment in a very professional manner! Also note ...the clam chowder was amazing.

I regularly come to Symposium. The staff are always amazing and accommodating. The Portuguese chicken is delicious. The special each day is worth checking out. Noors service today was exceptional. And the manager and owner are very good people. Recommended!

Everything was pretty good, they ran out of what we came for and it was still early in the evening. Our server was wonderful and very kind.
