Had our Christmas lunch here and I’m so glad we did. We were warmly greeted by our host and server. Staff were attentive, friendly and “on the ball”. The atmosphere was pleasant and cozy. Our food came quite quickly and it did not disappoint. Large serving, excellent quality and we did not wait long at all. It was hot and tasty!! Would definitely recommend and will be back again soon!! Thank you Queen’s Bistro for making our Staff Lunch so special.
Really great selection on the menu, with amazing affordability. The food was prepared well, using good quality ingredients (you could tell the fryer oil was clean, which always indicates a good restaurant!). The portions were really generous for the price point too! The service was also amazing (I doubt my mom will sleep tonight after the amount of coffee refills she had, lol), and the restaurant and bathrooms were really clean too. I will definitely be back!!!
Does the owner not realize that one bad experience handled poorly can turn off a customer for life? I’ve been coming to Queen’s bistro for a year, about 3 times a week on average, sometimes more. The food is generally good, reasonably priced, and so forth. My family has never had reason to complain about our meals over all those visits (I ignore minor issues) - we’re good, regular customers, and today was literally my first time having an issue. Today, the veal in the veal parm was dry and overcooked like jerky. It literally could not be cut with a steak knife. I was simply hoping to get a new piece. The chef/owner outright refused, saying he put extra on the plate. Well, there was one small piece and one larger piece. The smaller piece was dry but edible. The larger piece was the aforementioned jerky. But since he put “extra”, we were ineligible to get the inedible piece replaced. No chef should have been happy with what was put on the plate. And if you’re going to put it on the plate, then you should stand by it and ensure your customer is happy. Not insult them by telling them that the garbage you served was you being generous, and essentially making us feel like we should be thankful for the right to be your customers. Do better, guys. You were given multiple opportunities in-restaurant to correct the issue in ANY way. You did nothing but succeed in turning off a regular customer.
2nd visit for breakfast and just as good as the first! Don't let the outside look fool you. The food is great and well varied options. Staff (owners??) friendly and helpful. Whereas most restaurants prices are now through the roof these were still reasonable and the food was great. You could also get liquor and beer for easily under $10. Highly recommend.
One of the only spots in the area open on labour day so we ended up here. Nice vibey local spot to grab lunch or dinner. Portions were decent and service was great — had a nice conversation with the owners. Unfortunately the butter chicken was way too sweet, had to add some salt to counter the sweetness. The garlic naan paired with was really good.
We were satisfied with our order! Coffee good Food good Atmosphere calm and cozy Husband got a breakfast plate I got a poutine. Fries were great. Gravy was nice and rich. Great portion size too. The server..she is so sweet. Fast service and a cozy place to eat. We will be returning again, that's for sure !
This is a treasure! Excellent food with nice presentation; it is clear the chef here cares about their craft. The place has an unassuming atmosphere with its diner vibes, but do not be mistaken, the culinary experience here is among the top end, as is the extremely friendly service. Seriously, if you are in town, don't think twice about stopping in! Perfectly made fries, and the best stir fry I've ever had.
I visited with a friend. We were delighted by the authentic Indian dish butter chicken bowl. The spices and flavors were extremely impressive. Also had appetizers ,fish & chips. Everything was fresh and delicious! I’d love to visit again. I'd highly recommend it as a nice place to go with friends, family, or a partner.
This is used to be one of my favorite spots, but not anymore. Took my wife out for dinner, she had chicken Tetrazzini...they ruined it. Went for breakfast on three separate occasions and found a long black hair in my food!! I am NEVER going back. I had told them over and over to have the young cook wear a hair net, he would not. What else..is he not doing??

I always get the butter chicken. It has stayed consistent until tonight. I was disappointed to see half the amount that is normally served. The Naan bread was also less than usual. I hope this was a one off occurrence and not a cut down on the meal portions to increase profits.
A lunch visit fish and chips: real fish filets and nice fries. Excellent value: good portion size, and well prepared
This has become a regular restaurant for us and we love the food and the service. The price is very affordable. Favorite foods....butter chicken, burgers and chicken wings.

We had breakfast. Eggs Benedict and a breakfast bowl. The food was very good. The service was great, fast, friendly and attentive. We will be back for lunch or dinner in the future.

Update: The last two times I ve come to the Queen s Bistro, it s been terrible. Food was just edible, service non existent, flies dive bombing you while you eat. Waitress singing loudly behind the bar, then she blared music. It was 11am. Too bad, used to be really good when the owner was there. I haven t seen him in a while. Excellent food, service and affordable!!

Had driven by many times decided to try it out was ok coconut shrimp good and mozzarella sticks, hot turkey was real turkey, beef dip was like leather overcooked and found a grey hair in food, kids spegetitti and meatballs was good kids liked it. Lots of varieties on menu.
Place is a little loud because of accoustics but the food and the service is fantastic. I had the chicken curry which is medium-hot for those who love curry but cant take the heat. The naan bread was perfect. Just the right level of soft and hard. The chicken couldnt have been better; so tender, so delicious! I had the deepfried strawberry cheesecake for dessert and will be back with my wife for more as a regular ritual. I cant say more positive things about this place! My price listing was because I had two pints, entre and dessert. Vegetarian options: Tell the server and they are happy to help where they can. Dietary restrictions: Tell the server and they are happy to help where they can. Parking: They have their own parking and free parking on several intersecting streets. Kid-friendliness: I will be bringing my kids back with me. Simple, pleasant atmosphere. A little loud but very family friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: Parking lot to front door. No stairs. We had a pet with and we re allowed to sit in the patio. Our waitress was excellent and even brought a bowl of water for our little dog. I would recommend this eatery if your ever in the Lindsay Ontario town.

Cant even believe how good the food was at this little spot. I had the butter chicken. My husband has the hot hamburger. Clearly everything is home made. Amazing . Cant wait to return to try something else
We used to order here regularly but the last few times we have definitely questioned the quality. The salad I had today was terrible, all kinds of brown lettuce hidden beneath the leafy green lettuce on top. I was only able to eat about 1/3. For the portion sizes, quality and cost, it s not the same place that we first started ordering from when they opened.

Amazing food, big portions, reasonably priced for what you get. Found service slow so dont be in a hurry. Three of us, each paid separately. Server did first ticket then walked away. We had to go get her after 5 min to come finish. Had a take-out order that was getting cold. All in all though, definitely recommend.
Amazing food, huge menu with tons of options for everyone, even kids. Parking is limited but there is some street parking. Service was slow but the 2 staff were overwhelmed as it was busy. Highly recommend the Chicken Fingers & fries and the Philly Cheesesteak! Give this place a try, you won t be disappointed!
We went there thinking it would be a good place to eat well the waitress was rude food was not good I asked for grilled potatoes she said she had to charge me for them got charged for rye toast that wasnt even toasted my peameal didnt taste right had to ask for more coffee I wont be going back there
Food was terrible. I had peamal Benedict, it came with cheese. The hollandaise had no flavour. The food almost tasted sour. My mom had peamal and eggs, it was our first time there and we assumed it was grilled breakfast potatoes but they were deep fried, My mom asked for grilled and waitress said she would have to charge for them. Get the bill and they were $6 bucks! Terrible breakfast. Meals dont come together. Wont be back.
They messed up our food and the food tasted horrible and then they made my boyfriends mom pay extra after messing up and then got rude and they over charge I will definitely never go back there and I don t recommend any one to go there

Not everyone likes liver & onions. The chef knows how to cook it. Melts in your mouth. Service excellent - want to make sure you are satisfied. Will go back - try the menu - you won t be disappointed

Good selection of food for breakfast, lunch and supper. beer is cheaper than other places in town. Look for the sign with the specials as the server doesnt always mention them. Parking: May have to park on the street during peak times.
I tried my second meal at this restaurant and found the food to be without equal in any establishment I have visisted in my 70 years. Please keep the chef and anyone involved in the food. Whether it is cooked in a microwave or grown in the backyard, I shall return. Wish I had more thumbs to turn up.

Every time we have been to Queens Bistro we have been impressed. The food is plentiful, the prices are good and the owner always goes above and beyond to make sure your experience was a pleasant one. I order the Chicken Curry, and it was delicious one of the best I have, definitely the best in Kawartha Lakes. I will order again. Kid-friendliness: Called information, they were very helpful, and answered the questions I had before I ordered.

We stopped in while driving through from out of town based on Google reviews. Highly recommend if you need a stop to fill up on some yummy comfort food. Friendly attentive service, lots of food options, good prices, and spacious clean interior.

This location has been home to many failed restaurants over the years. However, I think this one is going to be the one to stay in business for a long time. The food prices in my opinion are very competitive. The menu is very diverse including breakfast items, lunch items and entrees. My personal favorite is the Chicken Tetrazzini and my wife loves the Beef Dip au jus. We typically take out, however we did have a sit down meal there recently. The service was very good and the staff was very attentive. The dining area is on the smaller size.
Food ( breakfast ) was served hot and fresh and delicious...we enjoyed the clean atmosphere, the very attentive staff and the awesum chef ...gonna go back and try other items on the menu

Unfortunately have put a little bit of an Indian spin on their dishes lately. Chicken souvlaki now has a curry tasting sauce on chicken Im not too fond of. That was the only dish i ever ordered there. Their toasted western is very good that is my standby now.
Today, I got the butter chicken and it was absolutely delicious! Best in town. Large portion, great service. Everything Ive had here has been excellent. I highly recommend the Queens Bistro

Great food, lovely staff - a very nice family run restaurant. The portions were huge, and so many different varieties of food. We came with a group of 10, and everyone was able to get exactly what they wanted! Would definitely come back next time we re in the area.

The phone/internet orders get priority at this place... We sat at a booth last night for 15 mins while our server took phone orders, instead of ours...then when did take our order they had no ice for drinks ,,,waited another 10 mins drinks never came,,,other customers were being served that arrived after us... Will never go back again

I can t rave enough about this amazing restaurant. The food is exceptional and the customer service is even better. My dad and I live out of town but were in the area, we remembered how much we loved the food/service at Queen s Bistro; we stopped in and had the pleasure of being served by Sathes. What a wonderful person, so friendly, attentive and kind. All the servers are friendly ensuring we were taken care of and had what we needed. If you ever have the opportunity to check out this amazing restaurant you won t regret it. Also, they make the BEST butter chicken! Kid-friendliness: Truly amazing team, every time we have stopped by the service has been lovely.

Was doing takeout for dinner. Place was steadily busy, servers were helpful, and food was delicious. I had the steak sandwich, and it was one of the best Ive had in a while. Just the right amount of steak for every juicy bite. Im definitely going back to try other foods.

Great food and service with reasonable price and serving size
We went for breakfast. They have very good prices and a varied menu. The waitress was friendly and efficient. We had the salmon benny and the florentine benny. Both were not exactly traditional but quite good. They added a little fetta which was a nice touch also mushrooms, tomato. The homefries were a little over cooked and bland.

There were more items on the menu than expected... Lots of typical North American dishes (burgers, sandwiches, fries, etc), but also some more ethnic-fusion-type items like various rice bowls and butter chicken poutine. Bonus: All day breakfast!!! Would definitely consider going back.

We had our food delivered. They called to let us know that they are running late, very impressed. Food was hot, upon delivery Friendly staff. The portions were huge but very favourable, and enjoyable. Best burger to have delivered, coming from my boyfriend. My mother-in-law fully enjoyed her liver and onions. I had the Meditation bowl, so delicious. Will definitely order again.

The place is very outdated. The tables in the one are glass patio tables. The service to my table was very ignored. And had to ask for things more than once... Half of the food came wrong due to the waitress lack of interest of writing down the order on a busy Sunday. So me and my guest had our breakfast at separate times . The food. Was nothing to rave about very bland . And the ham was very over cooked . I would not recommend coming here if your looking for frendly clean or delicious food .

Cool breeze when door is open. They will need to figure something out for the winter or their customers are going to freeze. There is lots of room to make a small enclosure with a second entrance door

My boyfriend and I adore this place. The service is warm and professional, the food is excellent, and the prices are so reasonable. I love coming here for breakfast, and I really recommend the nachos to share. This place has so much heart in it. I hope people continue to love and support this business.

Our first visit to Queens Bistro, we ordered the Fish & Chips, Lumberjack Burger and the Coconut Shrimp. The food was served hot and fresh, the only issue was that the batter on the fish was not cooked all the way through. The burger and shrimp were both good. Overall the Restaurant as a whole needs a cosmetic makeover, the patched drywall, the narrow doorway to the restrooms that an older gentleman with a walker had a difficult time getting into and the dingy paint. The saving grace is the staff, they are super friendly, attentive and quick on their feet. Will need to come and try the breakfast the next time were in town.
The waitress answering the phones is so unprofessional and rude, slamming the phone in someones ear after taking their order. The orders are missing half the product and they charge $5 more for a meal if picked up? If you want half the meal you paid for and then have the management offer you nothing but excuses, feel free to visit this dump!
