The Schnitzel Shack is a local family-owned take-away restaurant located in both Port Hope, and now Lindsay, that specializes in Schnitzel. Awesome food...had the Pork schnitzel and wife had the Farmers schnitzel...very good. Freshly made and very flavourful. Potato salad was very tasty and reminded me of my mom's German potato salad. Service was fast, staff was polite and lots of food. Highly recommended.
We purchased our lunch here and took it across the street, where we had a lovely picnic lunch with a beautiful view. Note that the street is currently under construction. We parked across the river and walked over the bridge. The food was good and plenty. And, the price was right. See menu.
Fantastic food. We loved everything we've tried. The chicken and pork schnitzel are both some of the best I've ever had. The potato salad is great and the mayo they have is magical. Great spot. If you get the chance. Give them a try
Ordered the pork schnitzel and it was delicious and massive. The schnitzel was pounded thin and perfectly cooked. Two schnitzel's to each sandwich. I barely finished half a sandwich. There are a few outside tables. Great value for the money and service with a smile. Totally recommend The Schnitzel Shack.
Wow! The schnitzel on a bun with frietsaus was delicious. My sandwich included 5 layers of perfectly seasoned, golden brown, moist - yet crispy, pork cutlets, with plenty of tomato and a wonder mayonnaise type sauce. There are a couple of tables outside for eating and plenty more across the street at the locks to have a fun picnic and watch the boats. Food was ready within 10mins and the prices are reasonable.
Great little takeout spot in Lindsay. HUGE portions and great quality. Sandwich was amazing and a great, classic poutine. Will definitely be back whenever in Lindsay!
The meat was extremely dry and felt like I was just eating the coating/flour. Barely had any meat in there anyways. But it comes in 3-4 pcs of schnitzel in a bun - somehow generous. The potato salad was good tho (not in the photo - already devoured it lol) I’m not from Lindsay, I’m from Toronto so I can’t really beat this place down when it comes to the local reviews so yeah sure here’s your 5-star for the sake of it - maybe for the potato salad. Thanks.
This location is the same as the original Shack in Port Hope. Just as delicious, friendly, helpful, and courteous. Don't bother asking yourself why you haven't been there yet? Ask yourself why you're not there now?!
Was really good, sort of out of the way, had no idea it was even there but will definitely be back.
Portions are massive and an excellent value for the price. The food was also delicious and you could tell made fresh with quality ingredients. Will be back
Fast and friendly service for some of the best food in town. Try the Schnitzel Poutine with Sauerkraut! Vegetarian options: Eggplant Schnitzel as an option.
Its hard to go through Lindsay and not stop. Great food and prices.

Very confused after reading T.O. reviewer that gave a fake 5 stars....more questions than answers. I would say totally disregard that and listen to the rest because this place is awesome! Huge portions and delicious food. Try the hunters special its unreal.

I had an amazing Farmer s Schnitzel Sandwich. The pork was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. The sauerkraut had just the right amount of acidity. Come hungry or share the other half with a friend!

Some constructive criticism: These are the best sandwiches in town! Any town! The bun is perfect Two suggestions: 1. Make sure the meat stays in the sauce until its served. 2. Meat is good, sandwich is good but it lucks some flour: for this you can make these as side dishes and charge $0.25 each so you have lo loss. Stewed Mixed peppers and sauté mushrooms will add all the flavor thats now missing which most of your clients dont know yet. Eventually, and this will take expertise, rapini as a side condiment since its my favorite . I know that you will greatly succeed. Carlo.
Huge portions, excellent food!
We have really missed The Little Schnitzel House in Lindsay since it closed. We have been trying to find a new local place with excellent schnitzel. We were unsuccessful....until today!! While walking along the waterway we happened to notice the sign for The Schnitzel Shack and we thought wed give it a try. Wow! Excellent schnitzel, fantastic fries, huge serving size! We paid under $40.00 for 2 meals and drinks. Great value and quality. We were lucky enough to snag a table today, but our backup plan was to have a picnic back near the water. (They had 3 tables). We will definitely be back and will bring the family or even take-out to bring home!
Met the owner, he seemed like a great guy. Gave me 2 very big and delishes pork schnitzel on a bun they were fresh made in front of me. I will be back

Excellent, fresh food. It was ready on time. Very friendly service. Will definitely be coming back. Too bad the landlord next door is a d...k and wont allow for parking especially due to the road construction. Food : 5/5

Absolutely top notch!! Everything we tried was a home run. Like out of the park! Cant sat enough good things about the food, this place, or the great people who work there. The only bad thing I could say is that I live too far away in the US to come back as much as we would like to.
Was fun and food was Amazing! We have been to the Port Hope Location many times, but same delish food and nice location by the locks here! Unfortunately some construction currently on the road in front, but should be complete soon( mid June) You can still walk in! Its so worth the short walk!!
