The bbq pork rice was very tasty and big pieces of meat! Sweetn sour pork was ok. Bit too much sauce. Wonton soup was delicious! The service was extremely fast and the lady was so friendly. Will definitely return !
Food and service were amazing!
The food was bland, had the chowmein fried rice and beef with black bean sauce. The chowmein and fried rice had to add a lot of soy sauce it was so bland. I will say the portions were really big
First time trying Shangri la since they moved locations. Portion sizes were great and the food was amazing. Very grateful that they are open again. Hopefully, they get a buffet!
My first time going to this place surpassed my expectations with everything; the food, service, and kindness. I cant remember the name of the noodles but they were very good and the sweet and sour pork was just as good, i 110% will be coming back regularly and recommend it to anyone else as-well. The people working were very kind and talkative and the food was absolutely delicious. On-top one of the guys gave us a discount and coupon after only our first time in which im very grateful for and plan to be a continued returning customer for their great food and service.
Apparently a 14-year staple in Lloydminister, this delightful surprise (to me) had recently moved to its new location right along Highway 16. The old business sign was still up on the building so I drive past it at first. The owner is in the process of refurbishing and has done a great job inside - assume the exterior will be done in the future. Regardless, the food was delicious and price was great! Will definitely stop on again on our travels!

Passing through Lloyd on a roadtrip and as we were driving along looking for somewhere to get fast food from, on a whim we decided to get food to go from Shangri-La. Wow. The veggies in the Shrimp and Broccoli were so fresh and the veggies and shrimp were cooked to perfection! The Beef Shanghai Noodles were so flavourful, the beef slices were incredibly tender and juicy, and the noodles were cooked really well; not too chewy and not smooshy soft either. We also had the Shrimp Shanghai Noodles and they were equally delicious and perfectly cooked! Nice amount of bean sprouts, sliced onion, and sliced cabbage, and a wee bit of julienned carrots for some colour. The Sweet and Sour Ribs were in a really great tasting homemade sweet and sour sauce (if you'relooking for that red gluey kind of s&s, keep going, because this is not the kind they use here!). They aren't boneless ribs, and are actually the kind with the white gristle-y bones...these are my favourite kind and I was ecstatic to discover them! Every piece had a nice big juicy chunk of pork that was cooked to perfection and fall off the bone! The Spring Rolls (4 pcs) were also very yummy and nice and crispy! They seem homemade, with a very tasty bit of flavourful veggies inside. We got everything to go and all of it was ready in less than 15 minutes. If you're really in a hurry, you could call ahead. If you're eating on the go, be sure to ask for chopaticks/utensils, as none came in the bag, but there was plenty of soy sauce and plum sauce. The inside of the restaurant was very cozy and cute, with some beautiful massive koi in a tank in the middle of the restaurant. Definitely would order from here again on our next trip through!!!
Recently got food poison from this place. Puked all night. Will never go back. The Diner taste better and is cheaper anyway.

My go to is normally the beef lo mein with spring rolls and it s always good quality and you get what you pay for when you become a regular.
I remember eating at shangri la back in the 90 s when it was in the Lloyd motor inn the food was great and the portions were crazy huge for the price Mike and May are awesome people do they still work in the restaurant because I want to stop in on my way through
10/10 experience. Stopped with 4 kids on a long road trip and the gentleman was cooking, serving and cleaning and effortlessly serving everyone in a timely manner. Food was amazing, best we ve had in a long time, we will definitely be back.
Food is classic Prairies Cantonese adapted for a contemporary pallet. Staff pay great attention to customers. Clean washrooms. Great hooks for coats.
Went in to this restaurant, it was not busy (many empty tables). Was seated by the host, and wait 15 minutes before any menus or anyone spoke to us. Waited another 10-15 minutes without being spoken to, and with being ignored. 2 other tables who came in after us already had their food, before we were even asked for our order. We left without ever being asked for our order, after sitting there for 30 mins without any service. No service. Very upsetting. Do not recommend.
5/5! Ended up stopping here for a few hours because we were in the area due to car troubles. We were pleasantly surprised! Amazing service - great food. The owners/staff took amazing care of us and let us stay for a couple hours while we sorted out our car issue. Our lunch was delicious! and we stayed warm with delicious tea. The staff/owner even kept our kids busy by letting them help feeding their aquarium fish. Amazing customer service and such kind-hearted people. Thanks Shangri -la!

Very good service and theee FOOD WAS SO FLAVOURFUL and mouth watering. Me and my family will definitely be returning for more especially with the prompt friendly service ! Everything was freshly cooked and served with a smile. I highly recommend this place especially if you have a great love for Chinese food. My compliments to the cook and also to the host ! Good Job
Do not order from here. First and last time eating here. Had surprise meat that was supposed to be beef. Days old chicken fried rice if you call that chicken fried rice. Overall nothing good about our order. So disappointing.

Worst food ever, no chicken in the chicken fried rice they serve old food, nothing is fresh. I went there years back still the same thought it would be different but nope.. the old lady was VERY RUDE! I asked if the meal came with a drink she said nowhere they give drink I joking said yea McDonalds a&w ect.. she told me to go eat there. The food is just horrible thats all I can say. Go to sunnys or anywhere else for that matter.

I have lived in Lloydminster my entire life. Growing up, it was just my mom and my two siblings. Money was tight, but when we ate out, we ate at Shangri-las. As adults, we would physically go down to the restaurant and order food to take out if they didnt answer the phone. The food was world-class. The best Chinese food I have ever eaten. Since the new owner has taken over the food quality and taste has gone downhill. We have always spent $150 or more on each order and we are so dissatisfied with our orders as of late. The owner needs to hear our pleas and bring back the original rrecipes. He will lose alot of money from the lifers who will just stop going there.
We love the food! The egg rolls are freshly made and delicious. The shanghai noodle is a family favorite. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Best food in town. We regularly make the half-hour drive just to eat here. Hands down best salt and pepper calamari I have ever had. Everything else we have tried on menu is top notch. Always order more than we can eat but leftovers are awesome. Fast attentive service.

Wings, 4 spring rolls, ginger beef and Cantonese chow mein for $66. This is the most disgusting Chinese food I have ever had, by far. Skip refunded 50% but it should have been 100% refund. If you can imagine what food poisoning tastes like, this would be it. Straight to the garbage it goes.

Ordered a combination dinner from Shangri-La through skip and found a larva within, unacceptable for a culinary establishment.
They have changed up their ginger beef recipe and it s so disappointing. May the waitress told me they switched up the recipe when the store changed owners and that I needed to tell the owners that we didn t like it. So this is me telling the owners of shangra la that your ginger beef sucks. It s the only reason I come to your restaurant so now I won t be returning.
We expected that the pork has bbq sauce on it. This is stir pork with vegetables. You should have a photo of each of your menu in your website. So that we customers wont get disappointed in our order. This is the first time we ordered here. Were very disappointed, also the staff is not approachable you should speak clearly & calm when you talk to your customers, dont yell!

Overall, food was sub par. Some items were ok, some horrible. Of note the sauce for the chicken balls was terrible and left a lingering taste that ruined the rest of the meal. Ginger beef and fried rice was, ok, but given the price will be going elsewhere next time.

The beef Shanghai noodles were nicely balanced between beef, vegetables and noodles. The Combo B fried rice was lackluster. There was no veggie and no flavor. It was rather disappointing. Yet, the chicken balls were well fried and ribs flavourful and well cooked.
It was unexpected to eat Chinese food that tasted so good. It tasted really good. The environment is quiet, the service is good, the dishes are affordable, and the prices are reasonable. Very good dining experience!

Best food I have had in a long time. Meats were tender, veggies, crisp perfection. Lots of food. Taking lots home. Fabulous atmosphere. Just beautiful. Great service. So sad I live an hour and a half away. Next time Im in Lloyd this is the place. Yummmm.
By far the best Asian food period. The Ginger sauce they use for the Ginger Beef and Ginger chicken absolutely can not be beaten. The new location is definitely a welcome change from the older smaller that was on the Saskatchewan side of lloydminster. Inside it was not really changed from the Rickis restaurant that used to be in this location, so it is still pretty nice inside. Back to the food... the special fried rice has everything in it, including chicken, pork, beef and shrimp if you want shrimp. The portions and quality of the ingredients are top quality for asian food. Basically if you like Chinese food you better hit up this place and if there is an older lady serving you, tell her the place is awesome cause she is named May

Just got take out from a place we love and talk up. Son picked up. For home. Bowl of rice was it wrong name and number. Called nicely to inform lady at counter of the mix up and was told if wanted meal still its been sitting there for half hr. No duh. We r in the country. I said I will gladly come back for fresh order and not the cold soggy mess. Needless to say we will never eat at such a poor place ever again. Disgusted with the service after willing to drive 40 miles round trip again!!

I love their deluxe wonton, nothing like it anywhere!! and the chicken chop suey, ginger beef, so good and large portions as well, they do get busy and overwhelmed sometimes, but such great people..and now moving to a larger venue..right on!! Egg roll was soaked in grease. Fried rice that came with the combination dinner 1(d), very bland and a small portion. Waitress didnt come check on how our meal was until the end, and that was only because we asked for a take out container. Not overly impressed. 1st time eating here, Probably wont be back.

Ordered food through the phone. They delivered my food really fast considering i live the other side of town. Love their bbq pork with vegetables and beef and broccoli and crispy wanton. They always come with delicious crispy spring rolls and sweet and sour sauce for dipping aside from the plum sauce. When i called she asked me if im ordering rice. I said no. And my food came with rice...again. now im having food coma bcoz my tummy is happy and at the same time i dont know what to do with the rice. I need to go there and pay for the rice me and my kids ate.
