I went there for a company Christmas lunch.Amazing staff. Great food. Also has smaller rooms, but as we were only enough for one table, in the room that we got, there were about 4 different events at the same time, so when trying to have a civilised conversation, we had to scream as if we were in a pub with sky sports and England was playing. Also 10% automatically added to your bill. I know that goes 100% to the staff, but I also always feel its just an excuse to pay the staff less.

The service was amazing , so was the food. We went for Christmas brunch and Zina was very friendly and helpful. Very nice ambience and the was such a nice place to have get together with your friends during christmas.

Good value festive menu, £49 for 3 courses I think, and right next to the theatre. The pork belly was delicious and so was the apple and plum crumble. The serving staff were prompt and amazingly cheerful given how busy it was even at 5.30pm. I liked the lavish Christmas decorations!

A scrooge-like experience with the festive set menu that wed booked online. Meagre portions (2 roast potatoes, tiny veg portions) with missing items (pigs), nothing like their website photo. Nothing festive about the table (no crackers etc until we noticed, halfway through our meal, that others had them - we were told they were only for larger groups but that we could have them since wed asked), main course arrived 1.5 hours after being seated, then a long wait for a tiny xmas pudding, ate as fast as we could but still asked to leave as soon as wed finished our pudding and before we could ask for the bill - because our time was up. Bill was incorrect in their favour (which was remedied when I pointed it out). Restaurant was cold. Plus point - staff good at checking for allergies. Otherwise, a miserly experience I wouldnt want to repeat. edited to add, having now visited Browns Cambridge, there is a stark difference between these two branches. Cambridge had Browns branded crackers on ALL tables, and their own brand crackers contain nicely packaged, higher-quality gifts (things you could actually use). Browns CV had non-branded crackers that had measly gifts, eg a paper maze. I didnt eat the festive menu at Cambridge, having been so disappointed at CV. But I could see the turkey dinner being taken to other tables and it looked very very different. The price of the set menu at Cambridge was much lower than in London, and the quality was so different I can only think these are franchises, and the CV Browns is simply in it for the profit. My advice to Londoners is, hop on a train and go to Cambridge. Its a totally different experience.

This was booked months in advance for a company christmas meal, but from arrival to departure it was one mistake to another. I would not recommend going.

Very friendly service but very average food - everything was a bit rubbery and tasteless.

1st time at Browns Covent garden. Been to Browns many times before. 1st it was 1pm the welcome we received was quite cold and abrupt! Took a while to get served. Starters came out quickly, goats cheese lovely, the prawn cocktail consisted of Brown bits of lettuce prawns and very sipid sauce with hardly any flavour! Mains took 50 minutes although lovely mine came out without vegetables. Had to ask for them . Will not return.

The food was very delicious and the hospitality was outstanding. Its a perfect place for a DATE and the family.

Bafflingly awful Christmas lunch. Three peoples food was cold, portions were all over the place, nearly everything was over or underdone, the berry coulis needed to be *scraped* off the plate, and the accompanying veg would make a hospital meal blush. Couldnt believe it for such a stunning venue.

Really enjoyed our pre-theatre meal. It was peak lunch period and Gersi was very attentive and pleasant, also had a great sense of humour. Would definitely come back another day

The venue is lovely. And the staff tried really hard. It was very busy so that may explain the issues we had. We had the champagne afternoon tea. Champagne was delicious! The food sadly not so. The sandwiches had clearly been made a while as the bread was dry and ever so slightly turned up. The scones were the most disappointing - plain scone was hard and dry (inedible) - the fruit one not so bad. We live in Cornwall - jam and cream scones are a staple to us so we know a bad one when we have one. We didnt complain to the staff, it was very busy (lots of Christmas lunches by the looks of it) and they were working hard. We both felt slightly deflated and just wanted to leave.

Had dinner for a work Xmas party, all pretty good. Speed of service could have been better but theres always a bit of an issue when serving more than 20 people.

Ambience was excellent and very festive. Staff were friendly. Afternoon tea was tasty. However we had to wait 50 minutes for our food to arrive in spite of two prompts to the staff. Our original waiter who took the order was nowhere to be seen. Lady who sorted our bill could not have been more helpful and demonstrated the great customer service Ive always had previously at Browns

I visited Browns on Sunday afternoon for a family lunch. Unfortunately during my meal my handbag was stolen containing my phone, purse and door keys. When I alerted the already very slow member of staff serving us she initially did nothing. When she came back to the table about 10/15 mins later to ask us if we needed more drinks she then called the manager Korina for me. Who told me she had just started her shift and went off to review CCTV footage. When I went to leave in order to contact the police and card companies. I asked at the front desk if I could speak to Korina again to leave my details I was first told she wasn t on shift but an incredibly unhelpful member of staff. She couldn t not have cared any less and laughed. Considering whilst had just taken place in their restaurant which must have been a fellow diner who took it.

I had a great time dining here! The food was delicious, and Adas service was exceptional. She was friendly and attentive, making our experience even better. Highly recommend this place!

Very slow service for ordering, no body bothered to ask if everything was ok or even if we wanted more drinks. Food service extremely slow, roast dinners serviced nearly cold, whilst the fourth member of our party wanted even longer for their order but at least that was hot. Very disappointing as we have been customers at Browns and their sister companies for many years.

Lovely meal and reasonably priced for London

The food was delicious. Portion sizes were a bit small. We had to continually ask for water and drinks to be refilled so it would have been nice if that had been done continuously by the server without asking. 7:30pm was quite a late start for our private event so ideally this timing could be moved forward to 7pm or earlier so guests dont have to wait so long to eat. We arrived five minutes early and werent able to go to our private room until exactly 7:30pm but this meant that people went to the bar for drinks which further delayed dinner. So ideally the event could start a bit earlier. Other than that, food was really delicious!

We booked in for afternoon tea in the upstairs courtroom only to be told that we would be downstairs. (This wasn t much of an issue as we were mainly there for the food) After being seated, we had to wait half an hour just to receive our hot drinks from a rather resentful looking waiter and then had to ask twice for milk and then sugar. The food came after 45 minutes and due to how it was set up, the tiered stand fell apart spilling food all over the table. Once everything was resolved, the bread on all of the sandwiches was stale, and some of the pastries were soft and undercooked. We even had to ask a waiter for some plates!!! For such an expensive experience, my family and I were expecting a much higher level of service. Everything felt disorganised and there clearly wasn t enough staff. I m very disappointed.

We were seated for around 10 minutes before anyone came over to take even our drinks order and then had to ask twice for tap water to be provided. The food was OK but not amazing. We had the festive set menu. I had grilled goats cheese and beetroot. It did not look as though the goats cheese had been grilled and it wasn t warm. My companions had the parfait with toasted broiche. The brioche was cold. Having said that the starters tasted ok. There was no blade of beef available which I was disappointed about. We all had the turkey. Some of my turkey was very dry and hard and the gravy was very salty. Overall it was decent enough but for Browns I would expect better hence a mediocre score of 6. More like pub grub. I wouldn t rush back. Dietary restrictions: They did check for allergies

I frequent Browns on Old Jewry and always treated well. That s why I went to Browns in Covent Garden and Claudio was super. Made great cocktails and very friendly for myself and my date. Thanks to Browns for being exceptional no matter what area!

It was really disappointing to wait 45 minutes for a table, and then when we received our table the team were split between 2 tables which wasnt ideal at all given it was a HSBC xmas party. Very disappointed that the table was dressed for xmas, i.e, no crackers etc especially as the cost was £48per head. Every xmas party weve joined, at Cotes and other london venues have made it special, and this certainly was not as expected. The lady at reception was very unhelpful ,and didnt provide any discount for the inconvenience even though i advised its not acceptable and 1/3 of our party had to leave due to booked trains and therefore didnt even get to eat their deserts.

Food and service were reasonably good, but the crowds and the noise made for a less than pleasant experience. Unlikely to return.

Arrived and immediately told by rude receptionist thst we only have 2 hours to eat meal. 8 of us crammed into a small space. Restaurant clearly overbooked to make maximum profit. Service poor, slow, food average, overpriced.

The atmosphere inside is good Food takes too long After waiting for a long time, the food that came out was very salty and tasteless. Compared to the breakfast restaurant I went to the day before, the price was more expensive, but the taste was not very good. It took too long because the employees were just playing around.

Nice large venue however it was too busy, too crowded never got our drinks after waiting for 20 mins and the food wasnt great. It was just like a school lunch didnt feel special at all. However our server Ada was great.

A friend and I went to Browns for lunch on 12/12/24 before going to the theatre. It was very busy when we arrived as there were lots of large Christmas work parties going on and I was a bit worried as to how the service and food would be at such a busy time. It was faultless! Despite being extremely busy the staff were attentive, professional and cheerful. There was a fantastic festive atmosphere in the restaurant Congratulations to the amazing staff in the kitchen and front of house!

Very disapointing, fish overcooked, had it replaced but stil not very good. Waiter was very good. Even my drink was wrong, i ordered a southern comfort with lemonade, it came in a half pint glass so asked for a shot of soco to make it better but they bought a whiskey. That then ruined the drink and that had to be replaced. Although done i felt this along with burnt fish spoiled our evening.

Great Christmas night out here. Food was excellent, good sized portions. Great window table location. Only thing better would be a bit more attention from the staff on when youre ready to pay the bill because it took me about 5 attempts to get attention and I dont want to shout across tables. Had private room top of building whcih was spacious and can accomodate 25 persons. Foos was great especially the blade of beef and from what others said so was the turkey dinner. Staff friendly although group was large.

Bottomless brunch menu was a poor selection and food very average. Veggie beefburger had £3 supplement added to it - was clear on the menu but not quite sure what else we got for £3. Would recommend not doing this option and just go for main menu. Staff were great, was extremely busy but served quickly, they were attentive and friendly.

I was so disappointed. I had been looking forward to eating in this festive restaurant with my daughter on our annual December getaway, and had every expectation we d love it. The food was bland and generic, and the kitchen simply couldn t handle the crowd of the after theatre rush. Our server was wonderful and did her best with the food and service the kitchen provided, bit we could tell she understood how poor everything was. Add to that, the restrooms were beyond filthy. Find somewhere else

Last minute booking after matinee show at Dominium Theatre, London. Easily booked on phone. Got convenient time too. Busy but not rammed. Brilliant staff and service as usual. Clean and tidy. Good selection if food on menu. Only had to wait about 10 minutes for 1st course, main arrived in good time. Nice sized portions so couldnt manage desert! Shame as there was a good selection. Always on our itinerary when in town.

Too many people

The table was booked for 7.45, we sat down at 8.20. There was no apology, no effort to recompense us. It was a birthday dinner. We were a table of 7. They were tired because 5 of them had been skating. It kind of spoiled the whole day. We were made to wait in the bar, it was overcrowded, there was no where to stand, let alone sit. The staff had to ask us to move because we were standing by the pick up point for waiting staff delivering drinks.

I was in London with my mother for her birthday. We ended up at Browns because its right down the street from our hotel and we had the best time, it was so nice that we came back three times in a row because we had such lovely evenings. Thanks to our waiter Nikos, who served us on two evenings, we felt so very comfortable and special. He was incredibly attentive, charming and overall fantastic! The food was excellent and we particularly liked the Earl Grey tea. :) The overall atmosphere, great food and wonderful service made our evenings very enjoyable and exceeded our expectations. As soon as we are back in London, we will definitely be back! Thank you for the great experience!

Terrible service waited so long that we actually left before anyone noticed we had arrived. Its been the same for years but thought we would give it another go in case things had changed!

We arrived 5 minutes earlier but waited more than 20 minutes to be seated. Staff were just standing there, and a lot of tables were not set again in the dining room. The food was average at best. The Filet Steak was not even the right part of the Steak. It is way too overhyped and overpriced.

Excellent meal, good value. Restaurant very crowded. Very good staff. Only complaint was the noise level. Piped music quite un-necessary and it made conversation difficult at times.

We went to Browns for afternoon tea. I must say that as soon as I entered I was worried given the so much noise, but the afternoon tea room, in the upper part of the place, is very quiet compared to the rest (as well as very pretty). Very good food, especially the savory part. Excellent experience overall, definitely not cheap but London on the other hand is not. We went for 4pm and then didnt have dinner, certainly enough to replace a meal.

Vida provided fabulous service and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Vida the head waitress was so lovely. She made our meal feel more special. We will definitely come back.

I ordered the half lobster dish for £30. Shortly after, the dish arrived and oh boy. The dish I am certain was put in the microwave. The yellow sauce was lumpy. The lobster was dry, a clear sign of having put in the microwave. There were no more than two bites worth of food. McDonalds quality fries. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Id go for a beer but not worth spending money on food there.

We had our works Christmas night out on 23rd November and had a fabulous pre theatre dinner at Browns. Our lovely hostess Vida was brilliant, she was very helpful, friendly, attentive and a credit to the Browns team. She made us feel really welcome helped with the menu and cocktails she was right the gingerbread mule was a winner and I also loved the five go foraging. She also looked after one of party who had some very strict dietary requirements. Thank you

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Browns Covent Garden, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. We really enjoyed our visit to Browns. We had dinner on Friday, and really enjoyed the food, the drinks and the vibe was fantastic. Staff was friendly. We got served by Ada, and she was very welcoming and attentive, and made great suggestions. Highly recommended.

very well located for the theater district. The food was good. I had the cod the outside of vegetarian dish and also the fish and chips the waiters SERGIL was excellent. He was accommodating he couldn t do enough to help us with our allergies, the front reservation area was accommodating. I didn t have reservations, but they did accommodate me. Also the general manager couldn t have been better when I told him I needed to make a phone call and I didn t have a phone he graciously let me his phone, which again is something that was beyond the, call of duty I highly recommend this race restaurant to the location, but for the staff that makes everyone welcome when they come through that door no matter how crowded they are Dietary restrictions: they had vegetarian items and they had the listing of all the ingredients to the you knew what you should order

What a wonderful restaurant! Just as I remembered it from a couple of years ago beautiful decor and atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service. Vida, in particular, was impeccable: so attentive and knowledgeable, paid attention to make sure were having a great time, and she was friendly and warm, making our lunch even more memorable. The food was beyond reproach, the starters especially, ingeniously thought out. I could not recommend this highly enough to do it justice, I wish all restaurants aspired to reach this standard. Please never lower your standards in any regard. We will be back.

Came for Afternoon Tea! Was sat in upstairs restaurant/dining room, it was ridiculously very dark! Difficult to see food, companions and drinks menu! Couldn t eat the sandwiches as the bread was dried out! Manager advised that they had been pre-made earlier in the day and central kitchen couldn t make fresh ones! Dietary restrictions: Didn t have soya milk to have with tea!

I have been for afternoon tea today with my friend it was a treat for her special birthday in December.was very disappointing we were booked in for 1pm taken to our table which was very small.we then had to wait 35 minutes before we got our afternoon tea.we only had the table for 90 minutes,the afternoon tea was very nice but a bit pricey for what you got.dont think we will go back

The food and service were perfect 10/10. Also i really like Ada she was very good.I will recommend it as a place to visit.

Absolutely wonderful place, the food was delicious!! Shout out to our waiter Nikos, who looked after us amazingly! The only issue I had was there was a lot of background noise, and as a hearing aid user, I found this quite distracting, but other than that, a wonderful place!

Very lovely breakfast at Browns! Our server Ada in particular was excellent! We had the cherries pancakes, salmon omelette and some blast forest cocktails and they were all very yummy! :)

Nice place for a family dinner. Our waiter, Sergio, was friendly and great with our two grandchildren. Nice food and busy atmosphere .

Everything was perfect, we ate very well, the environment was very welcoming and the staff were very kind!!! In particular, a girl named Suada was super kind and very good, she suggested good food and also information on things to see! Very very happy with this place!!

5 Stars A Fantastic Experience at Browns Brasserie and Bar, Covent Garden After a brilliant afternoon at a Freemasons lodge meeting, I was reminded we had a dinner booking at Browns Brasserie and Bar in Covent Garden. I d never been before, so I wasn t sure what to expect but I m glad I went, because it turned out to be a fantastic experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and warm. We were shown to our table straight away, and everything just felt so well-organised and friendly. Our server, Ada, was absolutely brilliant attentive, personable, and genuinely dedicated to making sure everything was perfect. Honestly, if they gave out awards for best service, Ada would have a trophy shelf full of them. I opted for the three courses from the theatre menu, and let me just say: wow. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. You know it s good when you find yourself quietly plotting a return trip before you ve even finished dessert. And here s the kicker: the price was incredibly reasonable for the quality of food and service. I actually did a double take when the bill came delicious food and my wallet survived? Win-win! All in all, Browns is one of those rare gems where the food, service, and atmosphere all hit the mark. I d highly recommend it and won t hesitate to return. Thanks for a great evening!

Vida service excellent

I hate to rate places this low but I was very disappointed . Browns and cote have always been an easy go to for me and my intolerances but this visit has put me off from the chain. They served me a starter that wasn t even near the original dish. They doubled checked the main course as I had concerns and it turns out the only main dish I can have is steak. If I was vegetarian what would be the options , side dishes? I didn t want steak but it was my only option, they offered me plain pasta with no sauce . They need to be better educated in allergens and the chain needs to work on being inclusive. It s ridiculous Dietary restrictions: Don t go if you have issues with allergens it s not worth the expense and hassle of finding out you have no options

Came here for my birthday, all the waitresses said happy birthday & Vida our nice waitress sang happy birthday for me and was very sweet. All the food was delicious, place looked lovely, couldnt of asked for more.
