Inspired by Heston Blumenthal’s fascination with historic gastronomy, Dinner is one of the world’s most celebrated restaurants. First conceived in the late 1990s, the idea for Dinner sprung from Heston’s fascination with the savoury ice creams of the late 1800s, the theatre of the Tudor dining experience and the dishes featured in Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Through his research, Heston realised that obsession with food is no modern day phenomena, and together with Chef Director Ashley Palmer-Watts worked with food historians and the team at Hampton Court Palace, as well as reading cookbooks such as those by the royal chefs of King Richard II.
This is an iconic restaurant that l've been eyeing for a long, long time. The setting is stunning with a very spacious and elegant space overlooking Hyde park. Service is what you'd expect inside a restaurant in a mandarin oriental - extremely professional, friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the way the meal was themed, with Heston's medieval inspirations being a large part of the story. Starters were very decent and fresh, classics with a twist. Mains were well executed with some great, yet more subtle flavors going on. We got his famous triple cooked chips, too - not sure they were much better than somewhere else, but it seems to have originated at the hands of HB. Desserts (both the pineapple tart and strawberry) were absolutely delectable, we left nothing on the plate. Overall a great experience, expensive as expected but a lovely location for special occasions if one enjoys well executed British flavors.
Incredible Sunday lunch! From the minute we arrived my family - including a 9yr old and 5yr old - felt welcome. A cocktail in the bar set the tone for a lovely afternoon. Food superb and creative, yet sympathetic to the essence of a home cooked quality Sunday lunch. If you want crazy Heston, you might feel you're missing some fireworks but settle in, the food is great. Service was brilliant: professional but not over bearing. Danielo was a charm and deserves a special nod. He was lovely and took my children for a tour of the kitchen. Nice touch. You get what you pay for; a fabulous afternoon and I'm glad we booked in!
The food is exceptional and designed with professionalism. Isabella looked after us amazingly and went beyond her duty. She gave my son a special birthday celebration plus gave us a few pens because my family wanted some. She also made small conversations with us which made the event more memorable. It was a shame our family couldn't sit together in one table. Otherwise it was a very enjoyable experience.
You can’t go wrong here! HEADLINE Well cooked food with a delightful atmosphere where the staff are extremely knowledgeable and give you as much (or little) detail as you wish! COST Went for the lunch time 3 course set menu at £65pp - very reasonable! FOOD Extremely well cooked and prepared. Meals all over background and list the inspiration where they came from. Highlight recommend you try Heston’s signature Triple Cooked chips regardless of what you are ordering! SERVICE Second to none. I also brought my own bottle of wine and was able to bring it before hand for them to assess and decide when best to open etc. Upon arrival, I could see them preparing the bottle ready. Note: Corkage is applied, the bottle i brought was a 1964 vintage and they handled it with great care and attention to detail EXPERIENCE Unforgettable. You are given a way to choose how you wish enjoy the meal, from the staff going through each dish in detail to being able to enjoy your meal with minimal descriptions. Staff are always on hand, from the moment you get up to leave to the rest room, they are straight in folding your napkin (in a very calm and controlled manner, they aren’t sprinting over) but these details are what make it special. CONCLUSION Will I come again? Yes. Do I recommend this? Yes. Will I order the Chips again? Yes.
My husband and I had an amazing dinner here few days ago for my birthday. The food was excellent, from start to finish. Our main course was the prime rib and it was the best we have had in a v long time - don't have a picture of it cos we devoured it! we loved everything and the staff made the dinner special by being very attentive, nice and welcoming.
For a lunch service it definitely stuck as one of the most memorable I've had in London for a while. The flavours that go into the meals are extremely rich and truly some flavours I have never experienced in my life before. The steak for those who are rich meat eater does not disappoint. The Hereford Beef really stands out for how tender and flavoural. For the fish dish, a lot of care can be seen with the sauces that compliment it. I only had a bite so can't really delve fully into all elements of the dish but the texture, flavour and smell of the dish was splendid. I had the lamb with bed of cucumber and for me the contrast between the cucumber and lamb was superb and amazing. I never knew what amazing flavours you can get from simply a cucumber. One of my favourite dishes had in the restaurant. The mushroom parfait honestly was the most surprising in terms of depth and flavour. While it may not have an extravagant appearance the taste of it completely blew my mind. It needs to be had to be believed. Service of the staff was to the standard expected of the restaurant and they were to make suggestions based on vague request like sharing dishes and time limits. Overall well deserved 5/5 experience.
The multi-course tasting menu was a culinary journey, each dish thoughtfully designed and flawlessly executed. We had an amazing dinner. Every plate was a work of art. Every detail, from the attentive staff to the meticulous presentation of each dish, reflected the restaurant’s dedication to excellence.
I had a mixed experience with the dishes. Some were delightful, while others fell short. Nonetheless, I appreciate the effort and creativity put into the food. What really stood out was the unique service approach of picking a card to show how much information we wanted about the food. This allowed us to enjoy our conversations without too many interruptions, which was a considerate and smart touch. Regrettably, we encountered a hygiene issue when we discovered a short, curly hair in one of the dishes. It was extremely off-putting, and honestly not something I would expect at a high-end restaurant with two Michelin stars. On the bright side, they promptly replaced the dish and didn't charge us for the dish, which was the least they could do. However, they took too long to address the issue, and they could have handled the situation better. Other than that, all the dishes were beautifully presented, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The location being close to Harrods and the park was also a plus, considering there aren't many good restaurants near Harrods.

Lovely dinner, very attentive serving staff and delicious food as would be expected, thoroughly recommend.
It s beyond me how this restaurant has retained 2 Michelin stars. We had the A la carte menu and all dishes were delivered lukewarm or cold. The dishes tasted very nice, but we had much better recently at Leroy which has one Michelin star. I m sure the dishes would ve been elevated if they had been served hot. We mentioned our starters were cold and our waitress said they would speak with the manager. We heard nothing. Then our mains were delivered cold and we told our waitress. We heard nothing. Eventually we pulled the manager aside ourselves and asked why they re delivering mains cold. It was explained to us that the kitchen rests the dishes to preserve the textures of the food. Steak can be rested for 10 - 12 minutes!!!!! I m sorry, but if you re leaving steak that long after cooking it s not going to be warm still. Also, the textures with the steak weren t really anything special, probably slightly chewy actually. If your concept as a restaurant is to serve food room temp, then don t serves sides hot. The chips and parsnips were both hot, but the rest of the dishes lukewarm or cold. We left half the steak and, as a big steak fan, I ve never done that in my life. The service was OK but flat. Felt quite like staff were going through the motions. It felt like this was could ve been a Michelin star restaurant a few years ago but lost their way and lost their enthusiasm to deliver outstanding experience They removed the two main dishes from our bill but it was still £280. We ve had much better for less. The standout of our meal was our red wine. We had The Ridge wine from California and it was really exceptional. We d never been to a restaurant with two Michelin stars and were extremely excited for the experience. However, I d be very surprised if they continue to retain these stars. You can do much better in London which has an abundance of outstanding restaurants. We re visiting Gymkhana next month so hopefully this will make up for a rather drab experience here.
Two Michelin stars, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal On the G floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, you can see the view of Hyde Park outside the window, which is great and comfortable. Its a British restaurant. The butter on the meal kits is average, but the bread with foie gras is so flavorful. The well-cooked steak is also great. Overall, this is a restaurant I will come back to.
terrible acoustics of the restaurant. you do not have the impression of being in a 2 Michelin star restaurant. It is not clear how this category could have been
This restaurant has nothing to do with michelin star restaurants. Mediocre design, food and service. Kind of lost faith in Michelin rating. Try and see... :(
Perfect views over Hyde Park, great, informative but not overbearing service with unvelievable food. Absolute favourite London restaurant.
Great food, great service.
Very creative take on classic English dishes. Well taken care of by the staff. Glad there s an Ala crate option
Phenomenal food and amazing service. Came here to celebrate my 18th Birthday and they didnt dissapoint. We even got a tour of the kitchen.
I came here two weeks ago for my wifes birthday. The lunch menu has three courses and each course is delicious. This is definitely a one star Michelin restaurant.
Spectacular flavors and unique tastes.
Dining at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal at The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is a journey into the depths of British culinary history, executed with Heston Blumenthals inventive flair. With a concept rooted in historical recipes, each dish takes inspiration from Britains gastronomic heritage, researched by food historians with assistance from the British Library. The ambience echoes vintage British charm, immersing you in a space that feels like a time capsule of refined elegance. To begin, we savoured the Hay Smoked Salmon, a homage to 18th-century smoking techniques. This beautifully presented dish revealed the delicate flavours that make Heston s creations so unique the gentle smokiness balanced with freshness, showing how tradition can be elevated through modern culinary finesse. The Meat Fruit was a revelation, truly living up to its reputation as one of the restaurant s most iconic dishes. Inspired by a recipe from the 16th century, this imaginative starter is a feast for the senses, appearing as a vibrant mandarin but actually encasing a luscious chicken liver parfait. The parfait s silky texture and subtle richness, complemented by the delicate mandarin gel, were both surprising and delightful. Moving onto the Roast Cod & Green Sauce, we found a perfect harmony of flavours. The cod, roasted to tender perfection, was paired with a green sauce bursting with herbs like parsley and basil, blended with olive oil, garlic, and lemon juice. This bright, zesty element balanced the cod s richness, a true testament to Heston s approach to breathing new life into historical recipes. The Fillet of Hereford Beef, a 19th-century creation, was another standout. This high-quality cut of beef was cooked gently to retain its tenderness and juicy flavours. Paired with a traditional mushroom ketchup, an earthy condiment with a centuries-old history, the dish delivered a depth of umami that enhanced the beef without overpowering it. Then came the pièce de resistance: the Tipsy Cake, served in a cast-iron pot with a golden, caramelized brioche top. The warm, custard-soaked brioche, subtly infused with brandy, was decadent yet balanced. Accompanied by a slice of spit-roasted pineapple, caramelized to juicy, tangy perfection, this dessert was a seamless blend of warmth, sweetness, and a hint of acidity. The Tipsy Cake is a perfect example of Heston s skill in transforming simple ingredients into something extraordinary, rooted in British tradition yet utterly contemporary. Dining here is more than just a meal; it s an experience that showcases the artistry and heritage of British cuisine, brilliantly reimagined. Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the magic of history on a plate.
Decided to try out this two-star restaurant during my one-day stay in London. It was fun to be able to choose whether or not to hear the whole stories behind each dish. Until today, I never knew pigeon and artichoke tasted so good. I wish I could have the Meat Fruit everyday. One of the best liver pate Ive tasted.
We were there for a 3 course lunch. The service was extremely accommodating, friendly and attentive, a huge compliment to everyone. The 3 course menu was very good and impresses with its very classic cuisine. Lunch was very good for the price
Beautiful presentation of food; taste itself fell a bit short for some dishes. Wonderful service and ambience
Very nice service and the food is extremely tasty. The lobster starter and duck main dishes are the best.
It was our second time at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, we were back many years after the first year this venue started out. But it impressed us even more. Entering the mandarin hotel with all its lush flower decorations and marble was just wauw, the short walk to the restaurant brings you in a vibrant mood of enjoyment, walking past the bar and the glass wine cellar . The restaurant staff is very professional without becoming distant. We went for the a la carte menu and the portions were just great. Flavour wise we were in awe how deliciously complex the dishes can be here. With wonderful presentations. You can choose a card and set it on your table to signal the staff to what degree you want an introduction the the magical culinaire world of Heston, which was very nice and thought us a lot. The wine advice from the sommelier was brief but spot on, we couldn t choose which wine was the best, all so delicious and well paired. We wish we lived closer by, to enjoy this great place more often. A must go!
Wonderful Service, great atmosphere, amazing food!!
Exceptionally amazing and expensive place. Dishes are all dated with the historical date they came from. Long stories available for every dish if you select the right card. Food beyond amazing (as you d expect for the price)
Had lunch here on a stopover coming back to the States from South Africa. Not sure if the lunch menu is the same as the dinner menu. Lots of delicious dishes with all the polish and refinement you would expect from a 2-star. To be perfectly honest, dessert and the views were more memorable. They do try to be fun with their card system of information where you can choose what kind of info you want to learn about the dishes and food. A little kitchy but everyone is doing it now these days.
This is an outstanding restaurant. It is also outstandingly expensive, however, one is paying for world class service, imaginative food and selected wines. Once in a life time experience.
Food was absolutely stunning, enjoyed the story about the food history, we enjoyed our almost four hours dinner.
Amazing dining experience with great service.
Amazing food, with some real standout dishes. The service was formal and professional, the wine pairings were great with the food. Standouts of course was the meat fruit paté, the lobster additional course was brilliant, the soft tender lamb main course with rich dark flavourful sauce, and the boozy rum baba dessert was a perfect ending.
Service was amazing! Violeta, Paul and team were awesome! Food was really good, amazing presentation Food : 5/5
Had the luncheon menu with wine pairing. Food was delicious, loved the wine pairings, friendly team
Just WOW! I went for their lunch set menu with wine pairing. Service was excellent ! I ll be back again for sure !!!
An incredible dining experience with some magical food. A must visit.
A few months ago, I had their tasting menu, and it was sensational. The food was outstanding, and the service was impeccable. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the experience. Kid-friendliness: Yes, all the staffs are so friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Yes they have wheel chair accessibility
Very first Michelin experience and it was quite a wonderful one, even if the price tag did make me second guess my choices! I appreciated the detailed explanations and attention from servers and the sommelier. Wasn t stuffy at all and the food was incredible. Very cool way to learn some British history through food.
The food was amazing and was accompanied by interesting stories of the recipes and their history. Although some of the interactions seemed a bit rehearsed and automated the stories really added to the experience and appreciation for these classic British dishes. We really enjoyed speaking with the sommelier who helped to enhance the dishes with thoughtful wine pairings and walked us through all the tasting notes. Definitely a special occasion kind of place so be prepared to spend £300+ per person.
Having visited their branch in Dubai before this one , this feels like a cheesecake factory compared to the on in Dubai .. they should consider some huge changes .
Way too much money for luke warm food, service was slow and table wasnt clean, I do not recommend.
A typical Michelin restaurant in a historical atmosphere. Right in the Mandarin Oriental.
Very ordinary. 1h20 minutes for first service of tasting menu to arrive, 25 minutes exactly after pairing wine was served. Food is good, but service in a 2K meal is so important.
All the rooms very lovely and very nice
Went here 2 months back because my wife had wanted to do a tasting here since I met her. So we were visiting London and has to go! They had some off cuts tasting and we were like ok lets just do it. It was terrible. Only reason this is not a 1 star is because the service was good.
Gorgeous atmosphere, very very tasty food and a brilliant celebration
Overall very good, but I think the experience has declined over the years. The somm. was quite dismissive when my fiancée said she didnt want alcohol - and then failed to bring her NA drink. We also had to wait about half an hour from sitting down to taking our orders, which is far too long. I think this was a broad issue - at one point the lady at the table next to us starting banging the table and chanted hungry, hungry, hungry, which while hilarious, was a bit concerning. It ended up taking 2h30 for a 3 course meal. When present, the service was very good however (somm. aside), so I suspect theyre understaffed. The food overall was excellent, but the meat fruit was disappointing. Ive had it before, and perhaps its rose tinted glasses, but I remembered it being more flavorful. As it is, the Mandarin orange doesnt really come through, and so it just ends up being dominated by the pâté. I would recommend the duck main, the marrowbone starter and the tipsy cake dessert.
Food was amazing, the combinations of flavours, the interesting notes that hit your brain. The staff are well informed and freindly, maybe a hint of too much rehersal with how quickly they talked about the story of the food. The only major downside is the tables were too close together (there was plenty of empty tables), the table next to us were enjoying a celebration too, however it became hard to hear each other and the staff at times, my guest kept getting bumped into anytime someone needed to place or take a plate from the other table and when members of the other table needed the toilet. This didnt ruin the experiance for us as the food and service was incredible, i do plan to visit again just hope there will be more room next time.
Amazing experience at Dinner by Heston. Great good and excellent service. Highly recommended to everyone who came to visit London.
Fantastic dinner experience. Clearly they pay close attention to the details. You wont forget the Meat Fruit -- so uniquely presented, and equally delicious. Only reason for taking one star off for food is the duck -- unfortunately was a little too chewy for us. Overall would definitely come back to try their a la carte menu. If its your first time, tasting menu is worth the splurge.
Nice service good food
I dont think we can find a better experience. For a meal between food enthusiasts. Tasting menu with wine pairing. A pure delight in the mouth! A service with the greatest attention. The choice of wine is very surprising (uncommon country and grape varieties) which opens us up to new discoveries. Wheelchair accessibility: We dont see it, its possible to have access through another door.
Fantastic restaurant with views to Hyde Park, with a really interesting system if you are interested in learning about the history and preparation of the dishes. You are given 3 cards to choose if you want to be served in silence or to listen about The history and/or preparation. Food is great, I chose truffle and duck and they both were delicious. The desserts are also really tasty. Lovely enviroment and really helpful service
Great food here.
Creative dinner, unique favours and fine service!
The food was fine, but you pay more for the name than for the quality. the salad with tomato was very tasty and the fries were also very tasty. The cod cheeks were fine, but nothing special (and therefore not worth the money). And the cheese board was downright disappointing, with cheeses that could also have been bought at a good supermarket. The worst was the service, which, although friendly, had little knowledge of the products. The cheeses on the cheese board were only explained after we specifically asked and they only knew 4 of the 5 names and could not tell us anything about the taste or origin. She would come back to the name of the last cheese, but that never happened either. We also had water packages, but always had to ask for a refill. Which was very difficult because the service was not attentive and we therefore had to wait a long time. The location and interior are of course very beautiful and therefore make up for the amateurism of the service and the disappointing dishes. But for that money you would be much better off eating somewhere else.
Underwhelming and expensive. Our service was excellent and the servers were knowledgeable and passionate. I enjoyed the concept however would not recommend dining here. These recipes should have been left in the 1500s where they belong. The atmosphere of the restaurant meh for such a gorgeous hotel. We ordered 8 items from the menu The food was pretty bland, we even added truffle to the duck dish which had no aroma or taste. Meat fruit was pretty much the only memorable and good item.
Very cool experience tasting chef Blumenthals menu. You can see lots of thoughts are put into the dishes. We absolutely loved the meat fruit!
Food was fantastic.
Was an enjoyable experience
The service was impeccable. The best aspect was the option to choose the degree of information you received - not many establishments cater to personal preferences of attentiveness or discretion.
Amazing experience with a great staff! I advice to take the wine selection
We went yesterday for dinner for my dad s birthday. Usually on Saturdays they onnly offer menu options but they agreed to allow us to chose a la carta. I had the meat fruit which was absolutely delicious. My partner and mum had the rice flesh which was just as good and my dad really loved his lobster soup. The prime rib for two is by far the best meat i have ever taste. You can tell it is sourced from the best grass fed farms in uk because it truly makes a difference. I highly recommend if you are hungry. The chocolate bar was offered to us and a nice chocolate and card was presented to my dad for his birthday. Probably the best restaurant in London were it is nit too pretentious and prices are worth it without being unreasonable.
My husband and I were here in 2012 and came back today (2024) with our 4 year old. It was a lovely experience as it was back in 2012. Such great and attentive staff, amazing food, and they were lovely to our child. I dont eat sea food and they modified the tasting menu and it was delicious. Still my favorite in London. Kid-friendliness: Its as kid friendly as fine dining can be. They were lovely to my 4 year old, and even made her a nitrogen ice cream although the minimum order was 2. She is a very well behaved child which makes things easy. Definitely not somewhere youll have your kid running around.
Wonderful food in a beautiful setting. Not only was the meal delicious but the service was professional and friendly. 10/10 and will definitely be back!
Had a great dinner at Dinner service was a bit slow as we tried to order some wine to enjoy with our starters but food came first and by the time we finished it we got our drinks order. Overall had a delicious experience with signature dishes
Excellent experience. You won t leave hungry, that s for sure! Parking: For evenings, best to park for free around Belgrave Square or Wilton Crescent Food : 5/5 |
Fantastic, upscale, very fine dining, great food, renowned service, freindly team.
Dietary restrictions: Great alcohol-free options Food
The best restaurant in London! Every dish was delicious, a perfect blend of flavors and presentation. The service was exceptional, exceeding all expectations. It was a delightful experience from start to finish.
We went for the Luncheon experience. The choice and inspiration behind the dishes was absolutely fantastic, same with the delivery. Very good value for money as well. We were a bit disappointed with the stories and explanations behind the dishes (we chose the option to hear a full story), which were very generic and brief. The wine pairing was very disappointing as well - not only was the choice of the wines rather random and not much to do with a pairing, we also found out that the markup on the prices was absolutely insane. The wine pairing is £49, each of the 3 very small 100ml glasses of wine we got sells at £15-£25 per bottle in retail. I understand retail price would be different to the restaurant price, but given the quality and size of the wines we were served, this is unacceptable for a restaurant of this prestige.
the food is undeniably deserving of its michelin status. our meal started off well but as the lunch shift ended so did any attention to our table. food was delicious and i loved how they offered the choice on how much you wanted to know about the dishes (the tarot looking cards). just before dessert was served we were asked if we wanted to add on the nitrogen ice cream experience - we said yes but after an hour plus of waiting we were getting impatient. no sight of our original servers in the room any more, most diners gone, water glasses empty - so we decided to cancel the order. they apologized but it was a disappointing end to the meal. i m sure this is more of a 1-off type situation, but still rating it as it was.
Truly one of the best dinners of my life. The food was magnificent, the sommelier and his recommendations were brilliant, and the service was very attentive. One of the waiters very kindly let us step into the kitchen to watch the chefs at work. Loved every minute of this dinner!!
This place seems to be more about creativity than flavour. The food just simply isnt tasty. We had the duck as a main and not a single item on the plate had any flavour. Ended up leaving the plate. Cannot fault the service, they were attentive and tried to compensate but sadly I wasnt interested in an alternative dish.
Enjoyed the whole experience, the food was excellent and the theatre exceptional
Visited on the recommendation of a friend. I arrived feeling physically and mentally exhausted due to personal circumstances, but thanks to the top-notch service and wonderful food, I was completely rejuvenated. Choose the luncheon course consisting of appetizer + main + dessert. Appetizer: Ragoo of Pigs Ear on Toast (1st photo) Main: Batalia Pie (2nd photo) Dessert: Poore Knights (3rd photo) I irregularly requested extra cheese, but they kindly accommodated my request. The a la carte also looked delicious, so I would definitely like to visit again. Reservations are required.
One of the best meals I ve ever eaten. From the setting, to the hands on service, to the food. Just perfect. We were a table of three, and each and every item ordered was divine. I loved the entire experience, from the server describing each item ordered to savouring the medley of flavours so beautifully incorporated in the dish. Wheelchair accessibility: There was a separate entrance for people with disabilities
10/10.. absolutely exquisite. Just go ahead and book, it won t disappoint! Food : 5/5
Definitely one of the best culinary experiences from my first trip to London! I dined late in the evening and hence, had to pick from the a la carte menu. Looking at the reviews and a lot of customer suggestions I tried 3 dishes. The first was the Meat fruit, though delicious I realized chicken liver parfait is not really my cuppa tea as its tad gamey for my liking. I did finish it since the bread complimenting it made it tastier. The Turbot main was just perfect! Truly wowed with the cook on the fish, and was wondering like how do they get such a perfect sear on the fish mmm...the eucalyptus and parsley flavours emboldened the dish almost making it surreal! And...the Tipsy cake, while reading a lot of reviews I was like, how good can a cake be? Yet on the first bite itself...I was on cloud 9. OMG I just wanted to keep eating and never stop, even though I was full from the main and the app. I might totally consider visiting this place the next time Im in London
An exceptional evening at Hestons Mandarin property. No faults whatsoever - fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic atmosphere.
Very good meal that I would categorize as bistronomic with dishes of historical inspiration but reworked in a more modern way. The smoked trout is delicate, the duck is remarkably cooked. Typical setting of a hotel restaurant: even if the tables are spaced apart, it is very noisy because there are a lot of people. The service is attentive and the dishes are explained according to the wishes of the guests.
A culinary experience one must indulge in! From the moment I was greeted at reception I was blown away by their warm welcome and beautiful smiles. I was escorted to my table and was attentively looked after throughout my stay. The evening was blissful as was the food (Didn t take many photos) and the drinks were exceptional. Id highly recommend to mark a memorable evening. Thank you to the whole team last Friday evening (24th May)
We had an incredibly great evening here. Everyone looked after us and fulfilled our wishes perfectly. The food was incredibly good and the wine on offer made the experience even better. We can only say thank you.
Absolutely amazing service and food. The meat fruit appetiser and tipsy cake are to die for.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Dinner and I truly enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, living up to its Michelin-star reputation. The service was equally impressive, with attentive and knowledgeable staff. However, I would recommend enforcing the dress code for guests and advising against wearing sports shoes, considering the elegant ambiance of a one-star Michelin restaurant. Additionally, I had a park view table, but two large touristic buses parked in front of the window were quite disturbing and detracted from the full dining experience. Overall, it was a delightful evening that I would highly recommend.
Sublime complex flavours grounded in ancient British cuisine. Some glorious taste surprises that only Heston can create.
Great food and great service. We decided to order the 3 course set lunch. And the staff explained what each dish with details of its history. Its a great approach and concept. We had such a great experience. Highly recommended.
Outstanding service and attention to detail from everyone. We ordered the set lunch on a Sunday which was delicious and good value for such a setting. We were celebrating a birthday and there was some really thoughtful touches.
Really mediocre and doenst deserve any stars or the prices tag they charge... Was unimpressed. They did nothing wrong. But just didnt live up to expectations. Just look at my steak picture. £60 + 15% service fee. I could do much better in my own kitchen. Ate there with 12 friends. And we ordered ala carte and ordered the whole menu. no one had anything good to say except for the truffle bread and tipsy bread. Tasty. But still... Not overwhelming. Spent ard £130 per pax Would not recommend
Fantastic experience, loved the thought behind the dishes, how they were delivered and exercuted.Definately a treat ,it is expensive but the whole enviroment speaks for itself.
Very beautiful
Lunch was cheap for a Michelin 2 star standard. Still, it is expensive enough including service charge, etc. But the taste wasnt up to par and was just so-so. Especially except for the starter, everything was just like that. I have more than half left. In many ways, I don t think I will come next time.
Went for dinner with my boyfriend as a treat, this is not something we have done before. I cannot recommend it enough. Form the service to the food and drinks, everything was incredible. They have a cocktail menu, however you can order any cocktail you wish and they will make it. We ordered the fillet steak with chips and a side of truffle mash potatoes (its pricey but worth it). Hands down the best steak Ive ever had. To finish off we shared a tipsy cake, which was so light and delicious. I cannot fault a single thing. Truly a fantastic start to our weekend away. I have already been recommending it to friends and family
Delicious food experience! It was a lovely dining journey in the private room, taking us through the ages and a story with each dish. The dishes were very well put together and each one was delicious. Overall the experience was very enjoyable and worth the wait.
Fantastic lunch experience. Attentive and friendly service paired with exceptional food. Loved the new sustainable set menu!
Great restaurant where you can personalize your gastronomic experience! At the beginning, you receive three Tarot cards to choose which information you want from the waiter: Maverick (tells you the history), The Guide (ingredients and preparation), Adventurer (they dont say anything, for blind tasting) ... the chosen card can be changed during the dinner. With the extended tasting menu, I opted for pairing with organic wines. The sommelier has excellent sensibility and is a great professional who personalizes the user experience! The waiter was very polite and provided information in the right dosage. The smart casual dress code is not respected, people come in with T-shirts and designer sneakers, either change the dress code or respect it so that other guests who do respect it dont feel bad. Tasting menu: I - Hay smoked trout, smoked trout carpaccio with citrus sauce and caviar, balanced not too strong, parts of sorrel salad unnecessary (excellent wine pairing) 8/10 II - Meat fruit - slow-cooked parfait of chicken liver in tangerine gel, shaped like a mandarin, delicate and fine and visually distracting (excellent wine pairing) - 9/10 III - Buttered crab loaf - meat loaf of crab, crab and celery salad, golden trout caviar and cucumber emulsion, complex and balanced 9/10 IV - Rice&Flesh - smoked eel on saffron mayonnaise base, with chicken skin chips, reduced chicken broth and cubes, 10/10 - umami taste V - Duck&Turnip - duck with crispy duck liver with confit, carpaccio and turnip puree, 10/10 - sleek umami taste VI - Tipsy cake - brioche with vanilla sauce, cream puff and Napoleon brandy, pineapple slow-cooked for 5 hours and topped with apple, caramel and lemon sauce, 10/10 (the brioche is absolutely insane!) Recommendation!
Incredible how they have managed to maintain there standards over a long time. Exquisite food, elegant service, great atmosphere
The restaurant is in the gorgeous Mandarin Oriental Hotel and overlooks Hyde Park, so vibe is already 10/10 even just at the entrance. The tasting menu was quite creative. The highlight was the chicken liver mousse that looked like a mandarin, which probably pays homage to the hosting hotel. The tipsy cake was another amazing treat. Wine list is superb. They do serve the exquisite and expensive wines by the glass aka Dom, Dyquem, etc. Service is top notch. They offer 3 levels of explanation for the food from just letting you figure out the food yourself to giving all details including history of the dish.
Everything was very good and very delicious.
In short, fantastic.
I had the pleasure of experiencing the Mother s Day special dinner at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, located in the Mandarin Oriental hotel in London, courtesy of my thoughtful son. The evening was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The ambiance was elegant and inviting. The culinary journey curated by Heston Blumenthal himself was truly exceptional. Each dish was a masterpiece, meticulously crafted with exquisite flavors and presentation. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. I can t thank my son enough for this memorable experience, and I highly recommend Dinner by Heston Blumenthal to anyone looking for a culinary adventure in London. It s a dining experience that will linger in your memory for years to come!
Interesting concept, culinary history education in a modern setting, but the dining is mediocre- the apricot duck too salty and chewy, the smoked trout was good but not superb. Ridiculously overpriced wine pairing and tasting menu A chef entertaining himself Food
You come for the name on the door, but it is the people that cook your meal and serve you, that determine your experience. And this was one of the best dining experiences I ve had. The food was amazing but the service was absolutely exceptional. Had the tasting menu and the premium wine pairing and chose the Maverick service where the history and technique was shared for both the wine and meal on every course. Exceptional in all ways.
Facing the blue sky and white clouds of Hyde Park, everything you eat is beautiful and comfortable. A service option similar to tarot cards. It was the first time I encountered it. It was interesting and considerate.
The most amazing experience i had in a restaurant. The food staff the place were truly beautiful. Definitely worth a visit
Visited Dinner By Heston Blumenthal for the first time with my partner and was absolutely blown away by the caliber of the food, marvelous service and sophisticated ambience. Hyde Park acts as a fitting backdrop plus you get to watch the chefs at work because it s a ceiling-to-counter glass panel that wraps around the kitchen area. We went for the ala carte menu because there s more options and our customized menu spanned 2 starters (rice & flesh, meatfruit) a side (truffle mash, very generous with the black truffles) 2 mains (duck & turnip, Hereford beef) dessert (tipsy cake, ice cream experience) 2 carafes of red and white wine and 2 cocktails so it was worth it. Special mention to Suparth, Maria and the sommelier whose name I did not manage to get, rendered impeccable service to our table. The banter, stories about the inspiration behind the dishes are really what ties the whole experience together. The front of house staff are also welcoming and courteous and they make for a good impression already before we even set foot in the restaurant. This is a place that warrants repeated visits and I am already looking forward to my next visit!
Service was so good! The staff were really energetic and i loved the explanations before each meal. The tasting menu was good but a little too one dimensional. The meat fruit and sous vide duck was really good. The rest of the dishes were a little one dimensional - rich and creamy mostly. A palate cleanser in the middle wouldve been great! Having different textures would also help with the dynamics. The view and atmostphere were really great though!
Service was amazing. The portions were pathetic for £100+, but very filling. Absolutely delicious food, not very many children friendly options.
Wonderful experience
Good vary nic
Perfect! If I were to find a fault (and I mean really search for one) then it was a bit slow for coffees and the bill. The food was incredible. I ll never have pie and chips like this off the charts good! Service was amazing. The whole team are phenomenal and the culture of the workplace really shines. The team are harmonious. I m already missing the place and I m still full 5 hours later! Dietary restrictions: Tell them in advance and they ll cater for you according to everything I ve read Kid-friendliness: Didn t bring kids but another table had young children who were catered for
Yummy
The food was enjoyable (we had the luncheon menu), and well presented. I thought the Batalia pie could have used more vegetables or something to balance out what was actually quite a large amount of meat. We went for the Maverick level of experience and the staff were very attentive and provide thorough explanations that were easy to follow with regards to each dish and accompanying wine. Its quite a large restaurant and did get surprisingly loud at times for a late Sunday lunch (it was about half full), though looking around theres very little on the walls or ceiling to dampen the sound. This take away slightly from the dining experience, hence the 4* atmosphere.
Really just sublime. Exceptional food and service (its great hearing all the backstory to the different courses from the staff). While its obviously not cheap, the set lunch is a bit of a bargain if you want to experience the full fine dining experience without the usual price tag.
Traditional British cuisine is also delicious, but it costs a lot more Overall, everything was good, especially the beef cheek and truffle risotto. However, the venison part of the main meal was relatively ordinary. It should be due to the quality of the venison itself. It would be better if it was replaced with other types of meat. The dessert part is very delicious for British desserts. Unfortunately, I had lunch very late that day so I couldnt eat the dessert. I really felt guilty Overall it s pretty good, but it s still not as detailed as French cuisine. If you want to try Michelin-starred British cuisine, come here! PS: The bread before the meal is very unpalatable. It is recommended to eat the bread from the appetizer Chicken Liver! This bread is so delicious
This was the best dining experience I have ever had! All the staff were attentive and very helpful, the cards giving you the choice about the level of information of the dish was fantastic (and I wish more places did this). The food was out of this world! I went for the 7 course taster menu to try a bit of everything. Every course looked great and tasted even better. My particular favourites were the meat fruit and the flesh and rice, and if you want a real show stopping finale to your meal, get the nitrogen ice cream, such theatre and lots of ooos from the surrounding tables! Cant wait to come back.
Very inspiring food. Food is good but I wouldnt say the same thing about the tasting wine menu. You get 3 glasses, with a very small amount each. I would expect better wine. Service was excellent and very considerate.
This was quite a let down all things considered. Ideally this would have capped our last visit to London but we found it underwhelming and decidedly not worth the price. Conceptually, its a fascinating approach to a menu and I really looked forward to trying modernized traditional British recipes, some of which date back to the medieval period. Unfortunately, nothing we had really excited or amazed the palate. The best of the lot was the rice and flesh, a sort of risotto adjacent dish. It was tasty but nothing outstanding. We followed that up with a Filet Royal and the Powdered duck breast. The filet was fine, but that was more due to the quality of beef than anything done to it in the kitchen while the duck was a little off putting. There was a strange, almost medicinal, flavor to the sauce (cherry? I think) that diminished every bite. Also, the skin was not crispy in the least. It was flabby and a bit chewy. I did not care for it. We finished with the tipsy cake. Like most of our selection, it was fine but unremarkable. It reminded me of a pineapple upside down cake. It transported me more to 1958 rather than to 1858 as the menu claimed. One last note was the outright poor service. The waitstaff was delinquent most of the meal. Wine glasses went unfilled for long periods, no one was present to answer questions when needed, and cocktails and plates seemed to take a very long time to come out. My duck was barely warm when it arrived. This is unacceptable for a restaurant of this supposed caliber. For the £600+ we shelled out for this meal (for two people) it was one of the worst cost to quality experiences Ive had in a fine dining establishment. We arent rich. We save up for fine dining experiences when we travel so it really stings when a place under-delivers to this degree.
wonderful, worth the trip and the price. definitely fine dining but the atmosphere is not snobbish at all. so much fun and many surprises throughout the meal~ definitely try the ice cream when they ask if you re interested!!
Interesting experience of old English recipes. Spectacularly delicious food and nice ambience. I found the service a little bit too pretentious however. Needs to be toned down a bit. Apart from that, it was an almost perfect experience.
Good direction
Recently dined at Dinner by Heston, and the experience was delightful. The chicken liver parfait was a creamy delight with a generous portion, and the tipsy cake was a standout. The overall food experience was excellent, complemented by attentive service. Excited to explore more of Hestons creations in future visits.
One of the best dining experiences I ve ever had - we ll be going back every time we visit London! We have dined at many top restaurants around the world including Michelin starred, and Dinner by Heston will be on my shortlist of favourites for three main reasons: 1) A dining experience that builds your appreciation for the food you will eat; 2) Flawless food that will leave you talking about it for days; 3) Impeccable but personable service At the beginning of the service, the waiter will present you with three cards that let you decide what kind of experience you want - we chose the Maverick which meant our waiters shared lots of detail around how the dish originated, the history and the preparation + effort behind the food in front of you. You can see how passionate the staff are and it s easy to see why. The food was flawless and flavours perfectly balanced - I couldn t pick a favourite from what we ordered (everything was fantastic!) but if you re dining a la carte then you can t go wrong with the meat fruit to start your Heston experience. After hearing the waiter explain the history, thinking and effort that went behind the dish, you immediately build a greater appreciation of the food you re eating. I wish more fine dining restaurants gave us this glimpse into the thinking of the chefs behind the scenes. In addition, I was dining with my mum who wanted her duck to be more medium than the recommended medium rare. At a normal restaurant, this usually means we are presented with a duck that is so overcooked, however the chefs cooked it perfectly medium and she s still raving about it days later. Lastly, a big thank you to Alberto, Emmanuel and George who made our dining experience so enjoyable, personable and fun. You made it an amazing experience, an 11/10. We will be back soon!
Absolutely excellent. Service was welcoming, attentive, and can adjust to your preferences. The dishes we tried were pure perfection with wines to match. This is a special dining experience, and were very grateful to have enjoyed an evening here.
It was an unbelievable experience. The food, the experience, all the serving options, and the history information all were above amazing. I had a tasting menu but, I asked to change main course from duck to beef and order a different dessert, which the changes were accommodated happily. Every thing was delicious and the flavour were unique and designs were so interesting. One of the must go places for food lovers in London
Located in the mandarin oriental ground level. It doubles up as their breakfast location for guest of the MO. Interior, views of Hyde park, laminate wood table, no white table Cloth. Glass kitchen walls- good view of the dozen or so chefs in the kitchen. Service- warm welcome. Three styles of presentation for food- different take on service. First bottle of wine we ordered was out of stock, next bottle, they were on their last bottle. This needs consideration for future guests. Three course lunch- interesting dishes as non one has very often. Opted for the ragoo of pigs ears on toast- rich and heavy dish, very nicely cooked. This was followed by mains of Batalie Pie which is sweet bread- also very heavy and nicely cooked meat, which was presented by serving in a pie with little carrots and onions on the top . The rhubarb and corriander tart was good. The poore knight was excellent with a lovely sauce and orange segments on the top. Service was good- warm and welcoming. Shame about the wine that was unavailable.
One of the few Michelin-starred restaurants that I came back for the second time. Will come back for more.
Exceptional service and food from many knowledgeable and experienced professionals. We were so well looked after and thoroughly enjoyed our celebratory dinner. Thanks to all at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal!
I mean, I m not even going to make a review about the food, he s in my opinion, the best chef in the world, so anything you order will be espectacular. The only thing I will recommend is one of the sides, order the smash potatoes, you will be delighted.
Mocun Gu guide London food tour introduction continues Dinner by Heston Blumenthal with two Michelin stars The fat duck headquarters that has been popular all over the country for more than ten years has lost its business in Mocun and Maicheng has closed down because of an orange. There are so many interesting things connected with this magical chef The London store is opened in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel The high-end status of this old-money location is evident Generally speaking, the pomp and service are worthy of two Michelin stars. They are professional and polite without being disrespectful. The problem is the dishes I have relied on this orange and Tipsy Cake for more than ten years to survive to this day. It is also a masterpiece It can really only be found in London, England. Such a place that remains unchanged can be like this. You can say it is traditional or stick to the rules The food The quality and production are consistent and the steak tastes good The heat is just right How can I say it? It is recommended to try it once but for me It s enough to say it once. There is no freshness and the orange chicken liver pate has shrunk by more than half. The price/performance ratio is extremely low... $130 per person can only be said to be quite satisfactory. This time I came to London and I got a few stars. BTW Wine It s great but super expensive Guide Gu s Tasting Rating Tasting Standard If the score is below 2 points, it is not recommended If the score is above 4 points, it is highly worth checking in Taste 4/5 Environment 4.5/5 Service 4/5 Value for money 3.5/5 Recommendation 4/5 Melbourne Melbourne Life Melbourne Food Melbourne Shop Exploration Mocun Guidance Australian Life Australian Food Australia Shop Exploration @ filled Classmates @ #Mo Guguide London Tour[Topic]# # MelbourneGuGuGuideLondon Tour[Topic]# #melbournegudao[topic]# #melbournegudaofood[topic]# #melbourneguideguidetour[topic]# # Melbourneguideguide[topic]# # guide[topic]## guidetour[topic]# #melbournegudaogoogle.com s high-scoring store sharing[topic]# #Mocungudaogoogle s high-scoring store sharing[topic]#
Very nice
Ive been here three times - the last two times Ive been in town. I love the unusual, historic take on the menu and everything is always delicious. The staff is top notch - my waiters all had culinary aspirations and came to work for Mr. Blumenthal. Cant wait to eat there again!
An exceptional moment spent at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal.
Really interesting menu with things you wont get to try elsewhere. Perfect service, they even let you decide how much interaction with staff you want. The tasting menu is also superb. Youre in good hands here. Cant recommend enough!
Very good food. Very good service. We had a good time there. Got 2 bottles of wine. Would definitely come again Food
Amazing experience. To start you get to pick 1 of 3 cards which decides how much of an explanation you get about the food. We went with the alacarte menu sharing dishes. For starters we got the meat fruit was fantastic. Not a fan of pate much but this was so creamy and tasty. Definitely a must recommend. We also got the rice and flesh which was like a risotto with beef, also very good. For the main I got a fillet which was very tender and soft. It came with some amazing chips with a mushroom ketchup which was delicious. My partner got a roasted version that was softer than my fillet. Both dishes were great. For dessert we got the tipsy cake. I was expecting it to be quite strong with alcohol but it wasn t and it was probably one of best desserts we have ever had. We also got some homemade ice cream made right in front of us. It was good but after the tipsy cake we just wanted another one. Overall an amazing experience and we would recommend this place.
Excellent service and dining experience in the private dining room inspired by King Arthur round table Dietary restrictions: Dairy free, gluten free Broad bean allergy
My favourite restaurant in London, the food is incredible and the staff are passionate and attentive. The energy and atmosphere with the kitchen is great to see.
Usually a Michelin-starred restaurant, we were frankly disappointed by this one. The setting is similar to a noisy brasserie, the service is really poorly coordinated (repeated questions, forgotten accompaniment...). In terms of the menu (£160 +15% service), the dishes sometimes lacked finesse (large slice of bread in the middle of the plate). As for the wine pairing, the price is incredibly excessive (£135 for the most affordable) considering the quality (we had Lillet!). I do not recommend this restaurant.
Restaurant below my expectations for a 2*. The food was OK but not exceptional. The service was friendly but messy (several servers asked the same questions several times). The atmosphere was too noisy for a restaurant of this standing (brasserie type).
overpriced
A fantastic meal with some memorable food and great service. We enjoyed the 7 course tasting menu, with wine paring and the interaction with the staff (especially the sommelier) added to the experience. Our favourites were the Meat Fruit and Tipsy Cake but the salmon starter was beautiful also. Nice touch with heart shaped jammy dodgers for valentines also.
Very creative but not tasty, especially the ice cream. A yeasty smell, sour and salty. The caramel is very sweet. The environment is a bit noisy, and although the waiters are friendly, I think the most important thing about Michelin is the taste. Sorry, I dont appreciate it.
Amazing food and impeccable service. The building was so beautiful and everyone so welcoming, kind and attentive. Would recommend for special events :) Food
We had a lovely experience at heston s for our son s 21st birthday! We chose the chefs table and 8 courses tasting menu. Wow ! You get to choose from 3 different experiences from the waiters / chef , essentially asking us to pick a card in relation to the level of information around each course, basically you could choose to not know and just eat without interruption through to knowing everything about the produce to that age ie 1900 of which the original recipe came from and then made into Heston style. The food from start to finish was incredible, we had a pairing wine and non alcoholic one for our son as he doesn t drink, that was a lovely change for him as many companies do not do non alcoholic drinks and or pairings. Fantastic ! The mandarin is an experience in itself and then to bolt on viewing the chefs working and then the personal service was just incredible ! The chef Jake brought dishes over to us and explained with passion every course, that in itself was an experience of course , but his passion and clear enthusiasm for hestons turned up the experience a few notches. Thank you Jake. The drinks waiter and explanation connoisseur Nikon was just incredible , again full of passion and enthusiasm, what a lovely fella .thank you Nikos. The other waiter Paul again absolutely great with his explanation of all courses and working alongside Jake , awesome service again, thank you Paul. With regards to the food , it was all just amazing , the chefs table is a lovely experience albeit you have to be happy spending £1800 for 4 people including pairings and service charge. You then of course have your rooms so overall I would say it s very worth it but it is a bit choppy , my opinion of course. Other than that the whole experience was incredible and impeccable. Hestons workers are clearly valued and looked after , no Gordon Ramsey shouting just calm and collected all around professionalism. Well done hestons and the team .
Chefs table was amazing. A great experience I will never forget.
Words are not enough ! Fantastic dinner and atmosphere! We will be back !
Excellent service, very friendly and accommodating with our new born. Main (fillet steak) was a little disappointing but the rest of the food was great.
**-Michelin restaurant that bridges classic British recipes with modern techniques
Just perfection for a birthday lunch end of 2023. Festive plum version of the iconic meat fruit, so good. My new addiction though, triple cooked chips dipped in mashed potato. My party went maverick & we will be back for more.
Absolutely excellent food and service from A to Z. Nothing was missed. The best meal we have had in London in recent memory.
Absualtely amazing experience. The whole journey was great, especially with the cards. The food is really delicious. I will definitely return.
The tipsy cake is a huge disappointment
Everything is great, but how expensive is it...
Simply top notch.
Excellent experience and with wonderful atmosphere. The food was deliciousl! A must try
One of the worst Michelin star restaurants. The food was overall alright by very basic by Michelin standards. The execution of letting customers pick cards and listen to stories behind each dish was extremely poor. We felt like they were reciting from their grade school textbooks rather than having personal connections towards the British cuisine. We were dining in a loud and messy atmosphere and did not feel at ease. I do not recommend spending over 400 here for any of your special occasions.
Chips and tipsy cake.
Had a pleasant evening at the Dinner by Heston at the Mandarin Oriental. Was looking forward to this for months! It was ok. It didnt live up to the expectation. Not bad, but not great. The tipsy cake was outstanding! The staff were fantastic and knowledgeable.
The experience!!! There is nothing more to say.
Good
Sadly it was not as good as when Heston had his restaurant in Melbourne Australia high prices and service spasmotic
What a fabulous experience Outstanding food with an outstanding story. Food
Incredible service, looked after my two young boys exceptionally well and they were well entertained by the nitrogen ice cream. Food was interesting and highly innovative based on old English recipes so different to the more European influenced modern cuisine. Treat for the whole family. Great venue and views.
Fabulous experience! Very attentive and welcoming service starting from when you entered the Mandarin Oriental hotel. The food went superbly as well, especially the Mandarin liver parfait is defo a must-try! Will re-visit this lovely 2 starred Michelin restaurant soon:)
Beautiful place friendly service and delicious food. I have tried set lunch with Hay smoked salmon for starters and slow cooked pork belly which belly pork very tender and delicious and then spiced custard tart.
Celebrated my birthday with my brother and I have to say the best food I have ever eaten. I was blown away by the flavours and combinations not to mention the presentation was outstanding. Food
What an absolutely exquisite experience! I cannot recommend it for a special occasion enough. The team were attentive to every detail making my Husbands 40th birthday incredibly special. I dont want to share photos of the food because honestly, I think you should go and be surprised! As fans of Heston Blumenthal this was a long-time plan that had been saved up for and it did not disappoint! The set menu was well-balanced. I had the vegetarian set menu and my husband had the regular set menu. I didnt feel left out. The flavours were complimentary and the food journey matched throughout. Thank you to the entire staff for making the evening as close to perfection as Ive ever seen.
Overrated and dated. Meat fruit is cool, but needs new ideas.
We had a wonderful evening with excellent food. All in all, what remains is an impression of perfect service, friendly and attentive staff and of course a culinary experience as one would expect in a star restaurant. I can without a doubt recommend a visit there and recommend it to everyone. The pictures show the 4-course menu.
We came on 03/12, we had a superb evening, the cuisine and the service were perfect, a big thank you to Jordan the Sommelier.
Very attentive staff, great from reservation to changing to the actual lunch where I was 15 mins late. The menu is inspired by old receipts dating back 1600s which is a really cool concept. Portions are generous with lots of appealing choices. They also demo how to make nitro ice cream and it tasted so good! Great service too you get these little cards to tell the servers how much information youd like, very considerate!
I could not honestly say that it was anything better than just alright. Upon arrival, we were told that we would not have time for the 6-course tasting menu as it was too late in the evening with no offer of accommodation or apology for the inconvenience. The first individual that served us seemed to be inexperienced and did not calibrate to our energy which further soured our first impression. In addition, the restaurant is brightly lit and does not really have any atmosphere of which to speak. We found the food itself rather unexciting. Neither of us found that any of the courses were memorable or unique. The food presentation was also quite bland. In the interest of fairness, we did both enjoy the truffle mashed potatoes but that can hardly be described as a dish of great complexity. I would not say I would likely return and am a bit mystified at the glowing reviews. There are much better options in London.
The beef cheeck and rice starter is just heavenly
A superb experience
Came for a dinner during the holiday time. So disappointed with the very overcooked beef, the overpriced menu and underwhelming service overall. Food
This is one of the most memorable date nights we have had. Absolutely cannot fault this place one ounce and makes all the 5 star ratings I have given before not even live up to the experience we had here. From the booking to the staff and attentiveness- second to none, loved our som s recommendations for the wine pairings. The way they handled our food allergies and my husbands intolerance was fantastic. The food was absolutely delectable and looked incredible. We didn t take any photos we just completely enjoyed our evening. Been dreaming of coming back ever since well worth the price point. Dietary restrictions: Absolutely fantastic catering to allergies and intolerances
Pricey but what would you expect. However the service and food match the prices. Good selection of food. Service was attentive and you can choose the level of interaction by your server. There is a bar attached to the restaurant for pre and post drinks. Overall a good night out!
A magical dining adventure. The food was absolutely stunning, beautifully presented and tasted sublime. The service was faultless and added greatly to the dining experience. Thank you!
Rather a disappointing experience. Next to no non-alcoholic drink selection, the server seemed at a loss when I refused the offered nonalcoholic fizzy rose wine (never been a fan) and I was served a rather insipid grapefruit/ice cocktail that cost fourteen pounds but didn t taste of a whole lot. Foodwise, the mains of duck and pigeon were divinely cooked and the tipsy cake was a glorious sweet stodgy mess. I enjoyed the mince pie petit fours, but it was disappointing that there was nothing at the start of the meal. My sherry scallop starter was a truly bizarre dish, all wrong and full of contradictory flavours. The broth would have been excellent with venison or game but completely overpowered some nicely prepared scallop. My husband had the meat fruit, which is a nice chicken parfait but hasn t changed much in the seven years since he last ate it. Good bread but I ve had better at many other establishments. For the price tag, definitely dated and lacking in care. Our one Irish server was lovely, but when she didn t appear we didn t really get much description or theatre when our dishes arrived, particularly as the restaurant was winding down.
There are times in your life when one must treat thyself to truffle mashed potatoes. When you must devour a chocolate bar unlike any other. When your expectations must be met after a long journey. Why do we toil so hard day after day? To enjoy experiences like Dinner by Heston. The team in Knightsbridge set the standard for what it means to take pride in your work. Be dazzled and enjoy this unique meal. 100% recommended.
