This was my second visit to Gouqi, and once again I was blown away by the experience. To start, we got crispy fried chicken and prawn/dragonfruit salad; the chicken was full of flavour - unlike anything I’ve had before. For mains: the lamp was marbled like wagyu, worth visiting for this alone; the sea bass was cooked beautifully, accompanied by iberico pork; and the jumbo prawns were cooked beautifully, quite rare to find. Although comfortably full, we were tempted by the desert menu — and once again, shocked by the quality and creativity. We chose a selection of three deserts, each of which had contrasting flavours and textures which were the perfect way to round off the meal. We can’t wait to come back to see what’s new on the menu, and experience the great service once more. Couldn’t recommend Gouqi any more!

French Gillardeau oysters are my favourite! This time, I chose the Thai-style hot and sour approach, after frying, but still retained the tender and juicy taste inside. Gillardeau is known as the oyster world "Rolls Royce", 59 breeding techniques &more than 4 years before they can be marketed, the meat is plump and plump, and it is said to be generally only served in the Michelin three-star Oh.

Had a great experience with my girlfriend last weekend! This was our second time to come to the restaurant. We were a bit surprised that we were given a private table. The Peking Duck was fantastic! The skin had little fat and was crispy. Combined with the caviar, the meat tasted super nice. The lobster soup with crispy rice was so fresh that we finished every single bit! The cocktails, however, were not our favourites. We ordered Mu Long and Gouqi Island 2.0, but both tasted too bitter for us. Finally, appreciate the restaurant for keeping the umbrella we forgot there! Will definitely come back!

I booked the Afternoon Tea Experience to celebrate my sister's birthday, and calling it outstanding doesn't quite capture how wonderful Gouqi truly is. The interiors were splendid, with incredible attention to detail, from the beautifully embossed seats to the perfect lighting and soothing music. The staff made us feel comfortable and welcomed from the moment we arrived. Andyson was exceptional—kind, warm, and genuinely made us feel at home. He enthusiastically described each beautifully crafted dish, and the flavors were absolutely extraordinary. My sister hasn't stopped raving about our experience since. We will certainly be back.

Stunning food! I attended a function in their private dining room and was left with a very favourable impression. The service, the food, the presentation was all impeccable. Nicely styled restaurant. Well placed in Central London. A hidden in plain sight gem! If you want to impress someone with high-end Chinese cuisine then this is the place to visit All the food is excellent but the Peking Duck is definitely a must!

I am so glad to be awarding this restaurant a 5 star! What a place! 🥰 Is it the food, service, staff etc they all went over and beyond to ensure it was a fantastic private dining experience. So we had this customised menu which gave us the opportunity to eat about 12 courses of great food. Oh my daze, packed with flavour, texture, colour, presentation, service...they are super excellent! This is authentic Chinese cuisine and the price was sooooooo great value for money. Location wise, the closest tube station is Charing Cross and it's a 4 mins walk from Trafalgar square. The staff were professional and attentive, super friendly and accommodating. The layout and decor showcased Chinese culture and they stay true to it. Though the toilets are located at the basement (stairs by the entrance, it doesn't take away from its beauty. The dim sums, duck pancake, beef and chicken in black sauce, the crab starter, everything ticked the box so right! When you see the Chinese eating in a Chinese restaurant, you can be rest assured you are having the real deal. The bar area is sufficiently stacked and there are 3 other semi private dining areas. In all I will definitely visit again and again and recommend to everyone who cares to know that Gouqi is the best Chinese restaurant I have visited 🥰

Managed to get a last minute booking. I saw Chef Tong on Saturday Kitchen and decided there and then I had to try! Great service of course and helpful staff on hand to guide you. We had the Peking Duck ( I ordered in advance) as well as Sweet and Sour pork ( The best I've ever had!), Beef Ho Fun, Hot and Sour Seafood Soup, Salt and Pepper Squid and Kai Lan Vegetables. Simply divine but the Peking Duck is theatre and flavour in one. Duck Skin, Duck in Pancakes and lastly Minced Duck in lettuce wraps. Sublime. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Its not cheap but well worth a splurge for the family

One word- exquisite. I booked this venue after an intense search and research. I came across this venue from TikTok and started researching more about the hx of the chefs and my God did they deliver. I rented the private room for my gender reveal and everything about the whole evening was on point. The service was top notch, very mindful, very demure. We was a demanding group and everything was taken care off. The waiters was amazing, very fast and also did try their best. You can tell the training and experience was 10/10. The food was delicious! Every single option I picked was cooked to perfection. As this was a private booking I did request some off menu items which the restaurant accommodated and made. Prior to my big day I had a brief meeting with Alan who was reassuring and we went through the menu options together. - some advice - those ribs and noodles was AMAZING- please add it on the menu. I m soo impressed with everything and soo grateful with the outcome especially being someone who always wants to be in control this was such a great event. Everyone spoke very highly of the team, venue and of course the food. Thanks so much to the whole team. I really appreciate it and you will see me soon !!!! Some pics I have uploaded. But the DUCK ! The DUCK!! Amazing.

Excellent dim sum - delightful variations of traditional favourites in a tranquil atmosphere. The truffle har gau was amazing. Booked a table of 2 for lunch on a weekday but there were plenty of tables. There are 3 semi-private tables at the back that could comfortably sit 4-5, maybe 6 with a squeeze.

August 22, 2024

Food was below average. Beef comes in small portions (costs £45!) and tastes bare salty, had me drinking water the entire evening to stay hydrated!! You can get much better authentic Chinese food elsewhere with so much cheaper prices! Service was okay, food was subpar and definitely not worth coming

Booked a table here for two on Friday night, but neednt have bothered as the place was only 10% full. Reading the menus, the duck seemed to be a specialty here, so we were keen to try it. Ideally we wanted a duck with pancakes, but the menu choices were either the Legendary Peking Duck (£128) which comes with pancakes or the Gouqi s Signature Roast Duck (Half) (£39.50) which came without. Not a problem I thought, Ill just order the half duck with some pancakes on the side. Not a chance. My simple request was met with complete intransigence by the waitress who told me this wasnt possible. She said I however could order the legendary peking duck as a half. Great, I said, how much would that be. The same price as a full one she replied. So instead we ordered the rack of lamb (£52) and Kung Pao Chicken (£27.50), Dried and Fresh Scallop Egg White Fried Rice (£31.50) and Baby Pak Choi (£23.50). While the food tasted OK, portions were small, particularly given the extortionate price. I have had much better in China town for a fraction of the cost. Entry level wine was £60 (South African Gewürztraminer). All-in-all the bill came to just under £300 and we left leaving hungry and disappointed with the inflexible service that seems happy to treat customers like idiots. If you find this place by accident my advice would be to have a five minute walk up Haymarket to China town for a better meal at a fraction of the cost.

I had the most amazing time celebrating my birthday with 18 guests this past Saturday. I could not recommend Gouqi more. Nathaniel the assistant manager offered impeccable service, even from when I called to make my reservation. The whole reservations team were extremely professional and polite, truly customer-forward. The Co-founder Alan Tang also emailed directly to ensure menu orders were arranged. On the day itself, the team graciously upgraded us to the private dining room (which was stunning) and we had the signature menus. There was more than enough food and it all came in a timely manner, not rushed, and piping hot. The actual food itself was divine, very inventive - the duck salad was beyond my guests expectations, there was a lot of tender meat paired delicately with honey dew melon. For anyone who is a fan of Yuatcha, Hakkasaan et al. I couldnt recommend more and it has a much more intimate vibe than those, with beautiful pods in the main room. At the end of the night, although it was past closing, the team were still constantly smiling and encouraged us not to rush. I will definitely be back again as will many of my guests who did not have one bad bite! Wheelchair accessibility: No steps

GouQi in London has quickly become my favourite Chinese restaurant, especially for its unbeatable location near Trafalgar Square. My recent dining experience there was nothing short of spectacular, with both the dim sum and Peking duck standing out as culinary highlights. The dim sum menu was extensive and offered a wonderful variety of traditional and innovative options. Each piece was crafted with precision and care, resulting in delicate, flavourful bites that were simply unforgettable. The prawn dumplings were plump and juicy, while the BBQ pork buns were soft, sweet, and savory. The variety ensured that every palate was catered to, and each dish was a testament to the Chef Tong s expertise. The Peking duck, however, was the star of the evening. Served with all the traditional accompaniments, the duck was carved at our table with impressive skill. The skin was perfectly crisp, and the meat was succulent and flavorful. The combination of the duck with the delicate pancakes, fresh cucumber, and rich hoisin sauce was pure perfection. I was so lucky to have Chef Tong himself preparing the fresh Peking duck. In addition to the outstanding food, the service at GouQi was exemplary. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations and ensuring our dining experience was seamless. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall enjoyment, with its elegant decor and comfortable seating providing a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. For anyone seeking an exceptional Chinese dining experience near Trafalgar Square, GouQi is a must-visit. Their dim sum and Peking duck are truly top-notch, making it the best Chinese restaurant in the area. Highly recommended!

Had an amazing experience! It all began with a warm welcome from Jeffrey, who even gave us a tour of the place. Each room is magical, with its own unique story, bespoke rare artwork, and stunning paintings on the walls. The highlight was the flying dragon centrepiece. Chef Tong prepared food right in front of us, exceeding every expectation with impeccable service. Ive travelled the world and never encountered duck cooked in so many ways! Fun fact: Gouqi is pronounced Goji, like the berry, and is also a small area in China. Every dish was flawless. I cant wait to visit again!

I ate with my friends and ordered the signature roast duck with caviar in advance. Maybe I am a rough person and the caviar feels fishy and I can t appreciate the duck skin. It s not the crispy type. The service is quite attentive. The waiter is quite humorous and keeps serving, but it s a Chinese restaurant. There is no special tea set for making tea, which is a bit awkward. Then I mistakenly ordered a dish I hadn t ordered and hurriedly withdrew it. My friends said it was okay. The salted egg yolk barbecued pork and the Regal Fried Rice were okay, mainly because I didn t know. Is there any other Chinese restaurant in London that can compete with Royal Treasure House? So I can t decide. This restaurant s experience is just okay. If you want to eat, you can try it. This meal for four people without ordering drinks is about 500.

Went here a few months ago for the Peking duck tasting set. The food is not bad, although the ordering of the menu is kind of strange. Also eating duck on its own without other dishes is a bit strange for a Chinese person. What I hated was the wine pairing. 65 pounds for 5 glasses, each pour less than a two sips. When we asked the sommelier about it , he was very haughty, all we can t pour you more, you d be having too much wine! . I ve never been to a restaurant where the wine pairing was insufficient to go with the food we were consuming. Ridiculous. Won t be going back. The music was terrible too. My overall experience was deeply disheartening, beginning with the lackluster service upon our arrival. Despite being walk-ins without a reservation, the reception we received was surprisingly unwelcoming, leaving much to be desired in terms of hospitality. The noticeable delay in receiving our drinks only added to the frustration, a perplexing occurrence given the near-empty state of the establishment. Upon finally receiving our drinks, we were eager to enjoy our meal, only to be met with further disappointment. The food, unfortunately, fell short of expectations; it was dry and lacked the attention to detail that one would hope for in a dining experience. From the presentation to the taste, every aspect seemed to miss the mark. In the end, the combination of poor service and subpar food left a lasting impression of dissatisfaction. Its unfortunate that what could have been an enjoyable dining experience turned out to be quite the opposite.

What a terrible experience all around. 1. When we got there before our reservation time at 20:00 we were greeted by a large crowd gathered at the front entrance of the restaurant. Wait staff said people with reservation at 19:30 aren t seated yet because guests arrive late and refused to leave when their time slot is up. We got our table at 20:35. 2. Cutleries were directly placed on the empty table. Initially I thought its their serving style but when the waiter brought out plates, napkins, chopstick rest for the 2nd round I realised they simply didn t tidy our table when we sat down. 3. First dish that came was the desert. 4. All dishes served was cold or lukewarm. We complained about the sticky rice dish which needs to be eaten hot and got a replacement, which was also lukewarm, and they charged us for the replacement. 5. We reserved a £120 roast duck 3 days before our reservation, was told it needs at least 45 minutes to prepare as if they are making it on the spot. Then it took almost 2 hours to arrive cold. 6. Restaurant manager s reason for duck being cold is because he worked in hospitality business for years with experience at shangrila that s how peking ducks were served: cold 7. We were offered discount due to the horrible experience, and then the final bill was wrong with extra item and portions added to the bill. They took more than £30 off the total cost after they removed incorrect items. For a restaurant that wants a Michelin star and is charging more than £150 per person, we had a horrible experience throughout and the limited menu food was mediocre at best. It showed how incompetent they really are. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

We were much looking forward to visit Gouqi Restaurant, led by Alan Tang MIH - Restaurant Director. It was an absolute pleasure to come for dinner and experience such a warm hospitality. My girlfriend and I were impressed by the kind welcome and expert knowledge of all people we came across with. The entire experience was sublime from start to finish. I would also like to extend a very special mention to the Team, particularly to Eglantino, Haki, Oltion, Nathaniel and Alan - who provided the service of food and drinks throughout the evening, they were all excellent and impeccable. Please do pass my most sincere well done to everyone involved, Culinary Team alike. The food served was sumptuous and the cocktails were equally divine, all underpinned by first-class service from the whole team. The feedback from my girlfriend who was celebrating her special 28th Birthday, has been marvellous and we are looking forward to returning in the not-too-distant future. Until then, thank you again for a truly exquisite experience and I look forward to seeing you real soon.

There I was, wiping away tears on Chinese New Year s Eve as a Chinese, instead of celebrating. It was the close of the Year of the Rabbit, and all I wanted was to dive into authentic Chinese cuisine with my friends, sharing the flavors I cherish deeply. We picked this restaurant for its rave reviews authentic dishes, an atmosphere buzzing with energy, and the promise of a dragon dance that brings any celebration to life. Despite a frustrating start with our booking, the actual meal blew me away. The food? Spot on, every single dish. The vibe, with dragons dancing through the room, and the teams kindness made it unforgettable. It was supposed to be a night about the joy of sharing food, not frustration. But getting to that point was a headache. I tried to tweak our booking to fit more friends in, avoiding a set menu that was a no-go for me (thanks, lobster allergy). All I asked was to shift our night out by a week. Simple, right? Wrong. The restaurants director shut me down with a cold No, you can t. It s $100 each if you reschedule now... That s the policy. before that I already have several phone calls with them. What got me was OpenTable said fees were for no-shows or cancellations, not pushing a date back. This felt like hitting a wall when I was just trying to share a piece of my world. In the heart of China, food transcends mere taste it weaves emotions, memories, and a sense of belonging into a rich tapestry of communal experience. Fuchsia Dunlop captures this essence beautifully, noting the enduring impact of a meal on our souls. Yet, before even setting foot in the restaurant, the anticipation was marred by procedural sourness. Now, having dined there, both I and my friends are all praise for the food and vibe. I Its just a shame that the journey there was marked by such unnecessary stress.I hope future guests can enjoy the great food and ambiance, feeling welcomed by the genuine warmth and flexibility that epitomize true Chinese hospitality. The meal was delicate, the service was excellent, and the signature cocktail was good. But so what? Halfway through the meal I had a sinking realization that I was heavily overpaying for humble offerings Lessons learnt: (1) Pick the tasting/set menu, perhaps you will get a better bang for your buck. (2) Don t go by yourself. The menus are meant to be shared and once again, you will taste more offerings if you are sharing amongst friends or family.

I absolutely love the stunning decor, stylish furnishings and overall vibrant ambiance. The highlight was undoubtedly the dim sum and duck, both of which were incredibly delicious. The service was top-notch too. My only complaint is the cucumber and leek that came with the duck were dry and the sauce was a bit too sweet for me. For the second course of the duck dish, try !

Ever since hearing of the opening I was interested in paying a visit to the restaurant. Given the chefs past experience I was intrigued to see how it will pan out. Walking in without a booking and I was greeted by Ashton who was very friendly and welcoming from the first moment. I mentioned it s my first time and he made sure we were comfortable. Going even further than that he took the initiative to show us around the restaurant and explain some of the features. The interior is very contemporary and modern whilst not being intimidating. I especially liked the chopstick holder. The mocktail I ordered was the dark horse. I wasn t a fan of it originally but it grew on me. An extra point for a metal straw. Johnson was our server and from the first moment he was very attentive. Anytime I had a question about a dish he was able to answer the question with ease. On top of that, he would make sure our drinks were topped up, table was cleared (including crumbing down). With every dish he asked if he wanted any chilli oil or sauce to go with it. The part that showed me a high level of service is when he saw my friend struggling with chopsticks on one dish so he brought over cutlery without us even thinking about it. This was anticipating our needs and going above and beyond. The service also never feels rushed. They really let you enjoy the food give you plenty of time between courses. For the food, we had the pleasure of speaking to the restaurant director, Alan. He was very friendly and was happy to run through the menu. We went for all of his recommendations and they were all as he described it. The seafood spring roll melted in my mouth and had an incredible flavour. The salt and pepper squid was amazing. The texture and flavours were amazing. The chicken and chive dumping was also really good. I like the different textures that came on that particular dish. The Angus beef with black beef sauce was extremely tender and had a lot of flavour. The kung pao chicken was out of this world. The chicken melts in your mouth. I don t know how they do it but I would return just for this dish. For dessert we had the golden sesame balls. It wasn t my favourite filling but that s just down to personal choice. But it was a nice and warm, if you re a fan of custard then it s right up your street. Overall I can only highly recommend Gouqi. From the moment you come in you are looked after and the food is some of the best Chinese food you will find in London. The chef has done an incredible job on the menu. The service is some of the best I have experienced and I ve been to many high end restaurants in London. As mentioned in the title, this is a Michelin star quality restaurant in every aspect and it has a great future ahead of it. Kudos to the chef and the whole team.

We visited for lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant was not too busy at the time. After seeing the discreet signage outside, the venue definitely makes an impression once you enter. The decor was very opulent, but it was done in a tasteful way. We were seated in one of the 3 semi private booths at the back of the restaurant which had a darker, lounge type theme relative to the main restaurant. The two of us had pre-ordered the Peking duck, and in addition ordered the squid rolls and octopus as starters, and the black pepper beef, choi sum and egg fried rice as mains. We were accompanied by our two young kids and the kitchen was kind enough to prepare an off-menu sweet & sour chicken for them. The food was excellent! The Peking duck was a big commitment at £120, but it was probably the best version I have tried to date. The black pepper beef too was a standout dish, and even the sweet & sour chicken was highly enjoyable. The octopus and squid starters were not as exciting as the rest of the food, but still not bad at all. For dessert we tried the signature chocolate mousse as well as the honey yuzu option. The chocolate mousse was very nice (ordered a second one!), but the honey yuzu less enjoyable. Cocktails were another highlight with all 3 of the ones we tried being expertly prepared. Service was very good. Our primary waiter was just the right level of engaging and despite our private location out of line of sight we never had to wait too long for servers to check up on us. The only negative part of our experience was the bill! The damage came to £480, of which £130 was spent on drinks. Comfortably £200 per head if excluding the kids, which is comparable to somewhere like Park Chinois and definitely at the highest end of what you could pay for Chinese food in London. That said, the whole experience - decor, service, food - felt special and I look forward to many more visits (budget permitting!).

The dishes are average, the price is expensive, not recommended

December 22, 2023

We dined here on Monday 1st May 2023. We ve been longstanding fans of Hakkasan, Yauatcha and HKK so we were very excited to see Chef Tong s new venture open in London. We ordered a range of dishes including: prawn cheung fun (although the prawns were juicy, the cheung fun skin was too thick, especially for a fine dining restaurant. We ve had better at local casual Chinese restaurants). We usually enjoy duck salad as it is a favourite of ours (from other Hakkasan group restaurants) but the one here was average. The salt and chilli squid/prawn was nice and we appreciated the technicality of this dish. The mains included sea spiced aubergine (ok), chicken (ok), char siu roast pork (we had to send it back, it was not roasted enough, and the meat was tough. The manager said the chef tasted it and agreed that it was not up to scratch as the quality of meat wasn t good so they took it off our bill. What I don t understand is, if you knew the quality was sub par, why would you still send out the plate of food? The egg fried rice was definitely not worth the £18 as it was clumped together - none of the other Chinese restaurants of a similar level charge this much ie Hakkasan is £12, Yauatcha £10, Kai Mayfair £12. Our bill came to approx £214 for 4 for lunch. On a more positive note, our waitress was friendly and kind. It turns out that Chef Tong was actually off on the day we visited so I m not sure if that affected the quality of the food, but we will definitely not be in a rush to return unfortunately.

Set on a corner of Trafalgar Square, Gouqi has bought a luxurious slice of Mayfair-level dining to what has always been a very touristy spot. As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, Hakkasan (Hanway Place in particular) has always been my favourite restaurant in the world - UNTIL NOW!! What a delight to see Chef Tong (former Hakkasan Executive Chef) pop up with Londons hottest new Chinese restaurant. And what an experience. The restaurant is beautifully designed, the service is world class and the food and cocktails are on another level. In particular the Dim Sum Platter and the Signature Peking Duck are the best I have ever had in London! Having the duck delicately carved at the table was incredible. Hats off to you for that attention to detail. I will definitely be back again in the coming weeks.

Took my pops out for an early Fathers Day lunch here. Almost empty despite being a Saturday but this added to the charm. Very laid back relaxed atmosphere. Front of house were all terrific. Particularly Michael. He attended to our table. Genuinely courteous. Made some suggestions. Was respectful to my folks. Tick tick tick. So on to the food. Well it s expensive. Very expensive. But I knew this. So I was hoping, indeed anticipating, to be slapped about with flavour bombs. The prawn Cheung fun was just adequate. Prawns were juicy. The dough slightly thicker than I was hoping and the soy perfectly salty but with an oddly bitter after-note. Sweet and sour Iberico pork again tantalised the taste buds but again no fanfare. I was getting a little concerned. Beef ho fun at a hefty £35 per serving was going to save the day, surely. Sadly no. Perfectly acceptable but if I wanted perfectly acceptable I d spend £15 on a larger portion in nearby Chinatown. To create a fine dining experience the chef has seemingly veered away from the raw intensity that comes from flash frying in a seasoned molten hot wok and transferring steaming hot dishes to the table. The dishes thus far were pacified safer versions of what they should be. No bueno. Thankfully all was not lost. The salt and pepper squid stuffed with minced prawns were wonderful spicy moorish parcels of seafood yumminess. Back on track. And now for the showstopper. The humble roast duck. We hadn t been prepared enough to order their Peking duck 24 hours ahead. This was the plainer barbecue roast duck. But wow oh wow this was absolutely delicious. Best Chinese roast duck I ve ever eaten. Fat rendered to perfection. Skin glistening yet snap in half crispy. It made me smile with each mouthful. And a quick mention for the steamed rice. Cooked on just the soft side of al dente. Thumbs up. So if you ve a couple of hundred quid spare for lunch or dinner, should you go? Yes you should. Would I go again? Probably yes. Would I go again if I had a chance to go to Yauatcha Soho instead? Probably not.

Loved the service, the head waiter, and the concierge were all so welcoming, great attire on all employees, everyone was happy to serve the customers. The interior was ofcourse satisfactory for Londons standard. All cutlery was cleaned well, with a great design . Suprised to admit it, but for a luxury restaurant, they are also baby friendly and understanding. It was a happy experience with friends and family. Unfortunately the food was slightly cooler than I had expected the dishes to be. Some constructive criticism I would advise on them on doing is to use heated plates in order to ensure the food remains warmer for a longer period of time; given that the portions of each dish are relatively smaller than average dishes of that price, the food is easier to cool down on a cold plate, other than that I enjoyed GuoQi. Thanks for the great service Parking: Behind the backways there are certain spots to park your car, or the upper hill area near the residential space there are also parking spots available (paid) Kid-friendliness: The concierge hostess and waiters were all so kind and loving towards my child, they were completely understanding and smiled all the time Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is easily accessible for wheelchair and pram users

We were fortunate to discover Gouqi from recommendations in the internet. If you are into hi end Chinese fine dining with quality food, wine, excellent service, this is it. This is a newly opened restaurant (3months). The chef and also owner Mr Tong hails from Malaysia and Singapore. The restaurant is named after him and with an apt meaning coming back to dine at home . We had its two-course Peking duck with condiments similar to what we are used to back home. Duck with pancake skin wrap and duck meat cooked with pine seeds and ate with lettuce wrap. The duck was served roasted warm. We were amazed that the meat was tender, succulent with crispy thin duck skin. We also had fried rice, kailan vegetables with garlic and a bottle of Grenache red to go with the meal. The experience is not inexpensive but well worth the carefully prepared dishes. We highly recommend. Look for the Canadian embassy. The restaurant is directly opposite across the road.

We had a nice lunch here, the food was pretty tasty but I didn t think it was worth the super high price tag, especially compared to other similar restaurants such as hakkasan. The stand out dish was the squid stuffed with prawns. The service was great- one of the dim sum was not very warm so they gave us extra dessert Vegetarian options: Good amount of vegetarian dim sum options

The service is good but the food was not amazing, especially considering the high prices. There are better places to get dim sum for similar prices (the dim sum was sometimes cold and the cheung fun wrappers were too thick), but it seems the main attraction is the mains. On a sunday lunch the place was quite empty so the atmosphere was quite flat but maybe it s because their new.

Had the duck menu here and it was delicious. To me, duck is the fundamental building block of life, Ive been to many duck restaurants in the UK and this place wins as the best peking duck in the UK. 10/10. Service was attentive and friendly too. It is pricey but fair for the amount of duck. Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible.

I booked the restaurant after months of looking for a fine dinning Chinese restaurant which has a great intimating feel. I must say Gouqi restaurant fitted the bill and more!!!! They went above and beyond in helping organise my proposal, and I cant thank them enough. Special thanks to Dan Lai for his warm, diligent, and dedicated support throughout the entire process, from inception to the end. The food, drinks, and service were simply amazing, creating a truly unforgettable experience. I highly recommend Gouqi for any special occasion or dining experience! So much from E!!!

Service from the junior staff was a bit touch and go. I would this down to new staff under training. The managers were very hardworking though.

What a disappointing lunch. We ordered a mixture of dim sum and a la carte items. The dim sum was lukewarm coming out from the kitchen - something is is entirely not acceptable. I have never had Cheung fan that was almost hard because it s cooled down. We then ordered a mix meat platter of char siu and roast pork belly. The char siu was entirely inedible. This is meant to be a fine dining restaurant and the food we got was worst than your average china town eatery but at 4x the price. At no point were we even asked what we thought of the meal so we were not able to share the feedback.

Late business lunch, which meant we were the last ones in there towards the end of the meal, which always kills the atmosphere a little. That cant take away from the food though, which was fantastic, service was also excellent - highly recommend.

I saw the chef on Saturday Kitchen preparing dim sum, and my wife and I booked a table and flights from Berlin a couple of weeks later. It did not disappoint. The dim sum platter was the best dim sum Ive ever tasted (and Ive eaten a lot of dim sum, including venerable places in Hong Kong). The xiao long bao reminded me that there is a level on how you expect great to taste, then theres levels above that you didnt even consider exist. And then we had duck, soft shell crab, and king prawn xo.... Every dish we were thinking: it couldnt get better and then it did. Wine and food all in was £350 or so for 2 people. Total value for money, considering the artistry involved. Thanks Chiara for the great service!

This restaurant was awesome . The service was spectacular, the guy who was taking care of our table was very sweet, decent and knew his job very well . Though we went there to eat some delicious duck, but unfortunately it wasnt available. The food was delicious and so was the wine. Just the Gin had a very less quantity so Im cutting 1 star for that. The place is a bit expensive as well.

We came here for my brothers birthday. The staff were attentive and ready to explain any dishes and give recommendations. We got the whole duck which was superb. Chef Chee Hwee Tong came out to slice the duck at our table. We also had the lobster which was delicious. The dessert platter was a grand finish to our meal.

We had the duck menu with the wine pairing. All of the courses were excellent. The duck salad and the dessert really stood out. I wasnt sure what to expect, but both dishes were very creative and tasty. The wine pairings were spot on and the service was excellent. Nicklas was our waiter, but I didnt catch the name of our sommelier. I wish I had because she was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and provided exceptional service.

The high-end Chinese food next to Trafalgar Square in London evokes the atmosphere of the Tang House, which is both delicious and delicious! Today I came to this restaurant adjacent to the north of St James Park to have a non-vegetarian meal. I have always heard that their chef is very good! Let me briefly share with you today s experience~ First of all, great thanks should be given to Mr. Bradley for serving us with smile politely and patiently! Excellent experience! The black truffle shrimp dumplings have black truffles on the top of the dumplings, and the shrimp meat is so delicious, and the middle is super layered! Scallops and shrimp are full of protein! Its tender and chewy after one bite, and it feels like a feast. Its such a blessing to be able to taste the freshness of shrimp and scallops! The spinach and shrimp green spinach dough is a surprise! The spinach flavor of the filling will be very delicious, but it does not feel astringent at all. The shrimp and spinach together are another kind of sweetness! Crispy Shrimp Fried Wonton Today is the shrimp dim sum feast! The golden-brown fried shrimp wontons stand on the tray. They are crunchy and crunchy when you take one bite. The shrimps are also filled with lots of meat! The shrimp wontons are made using the red oil recipe. The pork is added to make the taste softer and more elastic! Red oil soup base plus spicy pork yyds! Too delicious to stop eating! The fried eel rice rolls on both sides are the only snack that is not shrimp. The thin rice roll wrapper is wrapped in crispy fried dough sticks, and inside is the soft and fragrant grilled eel. It melts in your mouth. I really love it! Casserole with tofu and braised pork belly is really delicious! The pork belly is crispy and very tasty! What s even more special is the tofu and shiitake mushrooms. You can taste the super delicious soy sauce flavor in one bite, and the tofu and shiitake mushrooms are especially fresh! My friend showed off five pieces of mushrooms and tofu, it was amazing! Stir-fried cloud fungus is a very light and fragrant vegetarian dish. It contains fresh cloud fungus, lily, shiitake mushroom, colorful pepper, cabbage sum and yam, as well as sugar-coated fried walnuts as an extension, enriching the taste. Its amazing! Danzi Mushroom Fried Noodles Wow, their mushrooms are also delicious! The mushrooms absorb the spices of the fried noodles, and the bean sprouts and eggs are also paired with it. It is so satisfying! Overall, their dining experience is great~ Whether its the park or the restaurant, the service is also very meticulous! like! The location is right next to St. James Park, so families are rushing!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gouqi in London, and it was an exceptional experience. The Beijing Duck, both the first and second courses, were undoubtedly the highlights of the meal. The flavors were rich and satisfying, leaving a lasting impression. The culinary expertise showcased in these dishes truly set Gouqi apart. Equally noteworthy was the impeccable service provided by the staff. Their professionalism and friendliness added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. Its evident that the team is well-trained and committed to ensuring a positive dining experience. The restaurants location near Trafalgar Square is a definite plus, making it incredibly convenient and central. The atmosphere and decorations further enhance the dining experience, creating a pleasant and inviting ambiance. In summary, Gouqi exceeded my expectations with its delectable cuisine, attentive staff, and prime location. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience in London.

Fantastic food exemplified by incredible customer service by Nathan and Bradley. Such staff has come from established popular hotels such as the Shard and the Corinthians. I was overwhelmed from such customer service This restaurant is a hidden gem owned by former head chef of Hakkasan. We opted for a duck tasting menu, the peking duck was incredible as was the dessert. All the food is halal, so I d highly recommend. I highly recommend this Chinese restaurant, very modern and elegant. We were provided with a private booth due to celebration of a promotion dinner, whereby complimentary dessert was provided. I am super impressed by this restaurant in a fantastic location, I will be revisiting! Thank you again for a fantastic experience - one of the best Chinese restaurants in the country.

A brand new place that serves beautiful food which actually tastes amazing. Came here to celebrate my aunt s 65th birthday with some of my friends. Eglantino and Nathaniel were so kind and generous. We got the Steamed Vegetarian platter which was amazing. All the dishes were served and the Sole fish was deboned at the table. We even got a cake-desert with a candle for my aunt. The Gouqi Symphony 3 dessert was absolutely gorgeous. I cannot imagine the hard work that has gone into creating something so spectacular. Loved this experience. I will come back soon and try some more of the fabulous foods served.

I booked this restaurant for me and my boyfriend for his birthday and it didnt disappoint. We were running incredibly late and the restaurant were so understanding and super accommodating and they helped to save our table. We were VERY lucky otherwise wed have been cold and hungry with no reservation and I would have lost a few brownie points. The waiter, Hakim, was wonderful, super knowledgeable and attentive. Thank you Hakim for your services. The food was beyond delicious - the duck we had was the most juiciest duck I have ever tasted! Special shout out for the desert also! The entire meal was so well balanced and beautifully presented we left feeling well fed and satisfied. Highly recommend for any special occasion - date night, birthday, business meeting a life achievement or just fancy treating yourself to some amazing chinese food!

The service and the cocktail was the only Good thing about this meal. The actual meal was horrible. Probably the worst Chinese food Ive had for a long time. The octopus was dry old and rubbery, the aubergine was so garlicky and oily it made me feel physically sick. The noodles were also just coated in oil. Just because its a fancy setting with high prices doesnt mean its good, you can go to China town and get the same (if not better) meal for way cheaper in a less pretentious space. Have to re mention, the Zen garden cocktail was delicious, the lady working behind the bar also was lovely, as were all of the waiters

We followed many guides recommendation for this restaurant. We had lunch and prepaid for the duck menu. It was a rollercoaster in terms of dish, an excellent duck salad, an average soup, a delicious duck, a pasta dish that ruined the menu and then a delicious mango dessert. A small negative point: the plates are not hot and the duck becomes cold very quickly, especially if you ask for more pancakes

Gouqi a modern restaurant with a great atmosphere. We went on a Monday, l and it was quiet, which we had no problems with. It still had a good atmosphere and the service was fantastic. The theatre set menu was great, albeit small portions. The dim sum platter was so good, we had to order another. We loved all the flavours and the presentation. Dessert was not quite to our taste but still beautifully presented and we had a good experience trying them. Will definitely be going back.

Came here on a recommendation of the owner of Home Chinese restaurant in Manchester whos opinion I trust 100% and Gouqi delivered the goods and then some. The signature duck was a show stopper with crispy, translucent skin and buttery, mellow fat to complement the deep meaty flavour. This was a happy dimsum was also very very good.
