This is the only place in London that transports me back to Trinidad through food. I honestly could eat roti everyday so it’s good this is not too easy to get to. I enjoy everything every time.

These individuals (i believe their names are Robin and Nisha from an article i read online) are honestly some of the kindest, sweetest and most welcoming owners I've ever had the pleasure of meeting in the hospitality / food industry. My family and i visited Roti Joupa based on the reviews we read and videos we saw online and we were very eager to try Trinidadian food for the first time. From the time we walked into the restaurant we were greeted with a warm smile and friendly hello from Nisha, who enthusiastically made some suggestions on what we should try and we placed our order. Later on, Robin also came to have a friendly chat with us too, which was nice. The restaurant was clean and the service was efficient and attentive. We tried a variety of dishes including Doubles, Buss Up Shot, Mac and Cheese, Fried Fish, Curry Goat, Rice and Peas, Roti, Pholourie, and Sorrel Drink too. Our absolute hands down favourite were the Doubles. Definitely unlike anything we'd tried before and this is where they really shine. Chickpeas cooked to perfection, robust, dynamic flavour profile and all the textures worked extremely well together. Trinidadian cuisine tastes quite different from your typical Jamaican cuisine, which i thoroughly enjoy...and I've tried loads as I'm a foodie for life! So please just bare that in mind and don't visit this restaurant with that expectation. The flavours are a lot more subtle and understated, yet still pleasant. We'll definitely be visiting again and I'd highly recommend others to go along and experience the food, graciousness and excellent customer service for themselves too. Trini roti with duck curry! Discovered more Caribbean food so I had to try it. Caribbean food is not just jerk, goat curry, patties and dumplings but there is more! Down south of the Caribbean, you will find Trinidad and Tobago which are two islands that form one nation. Their cuisines are quite similar to Jamaican yet very different. What got me curious was Trini food because they have duck on the menu. Their roti's are interesting because it looks like a wrap with curry inside. I got the duck curry roti which was interesting because it comes on the bone even though it is in a wrap so I'm guessing you eat it open. The duck curry tasted like Indian spinach curry with a savoury taste so I really liked it. The texture of the roti was different as it was quite crumbly like gluten free wraps. Also tried the mac and cheese which was really tasty made with penne. For drinks tried the mauby which is made with tree bark. It is an acquired taste so if you like aniseed with bitterness, that's your drink.
We had the curry chicken and mixed veg with buss up shot, which were very very tasty. The mac and cheese (which we did not need to add between the two of us) was covered in tamarind sauce and delicious.
A really lovely cosy place to eat delicious Caribbean roti. The food is tasty, filling and soul warming. The people running this place are full of love and you can taste it in the food. Left with a full belly and warm heart. Will definitely be coming back - (so great for veggie options too )
I use to go to there Clapham branch, but coming from Ilford, Stratford is a lot closer. Their quality is always on point, as is the staff. I've been there almost every week since they have opened and should be there twice this week and I'm picking up food for a neighbour as well. I've added some pictures but they don't really do the Roti and Doubles justice

The food was tasty, but I had ordered a goat curry roti, and I definitely was given chicken curry roti. It tasted good but the detail missing was slightly disappointing.

This is truly the best tasting, authentic Caribbean food in London! Robin and the team are such lovely people and really know how to make you feel welcome. I grew up in Trinidad and the food they serve here brings me back to my childhood. It is a proper gem and whenever Im in town, I have to stop by for a doubles or a roti if im starving. Exactly what Id expect from a soul food takeaway. Though the staff were a lot friendlier. Good portion sizes and lovely food. A good menu selection and reasonable prices. Recommended Parking: Parking Im guessing changes depending on the time. There were plenty of spaces mid evening. Theres a bay for about 6 cars outside which I think are free for a short period in peak time and free off peak.

Good food and great service
Food missed the mark in my view. Had pholourie, buss up shot with duck, a shrimp roti and some sorrel. The buss up shot was decent & the shrimp & channa was good however, the pholourie was not good at all & dhalpourie was a too thick. Maybe just a bad day but didn t feel worth it for the food. The sorrel was excellent, just like back home. Would go back if the food significantly improved.

I got roti, pholourie and doubles and the food tastes authentic and full of flavour. The portion sizes were great and friendly customer service. Will definitely be ordering from them again. Came for the doubles and the buss up shot with goat curry. Soo yummy. Tried the sorrel drink which was delicious. Very friendly owner. We had such a nice chat with her. Highly recommend. Will try the fish next time as I saw someone get that and it smelled delicious.
I had high hopes for this place but I didnt like the roti fillings that much. I sincerely wish thus business all the best and will Try them again. Food : 3/5
Everything about my experience was a 10/10. The staff were polite, patient and helpful. The food was great and very authentic. The wait time for the food wasn t long at all and the establishment was very clean.
Dont find much Trini food in east so big ups to these guys. Owners are lovely and food is on point

Amazing food and service
Went in for lunch earlier. It was great as a vegan, I had the mixed Veg roti. The roti was hot and fresh as were all of the fillings. The veg was very flavoursome. The lady taking my order was very patient and helpful in pointing out the vegan options. Service was great too, I will definitely be returning!
Me and boyfriend decided to check it out as we are locals, as soon as we arrived we had a warm welcome and plenty of recommendations. Services was fast, food was hot even after walking home & the flavours were unreal! The doubles was the best thing I ve tasted in a long time.. the rest of the food was banging too. Can t wait to try all the other options

Lucky to be introduced to this beautiful family run business by my Trinidadian colleague back when they originally used to be in Clapham. My first taste of doubles blew my mind!! Their goat roti is my main go to and I m so glad they re at Stratford now, as it s closer for me. This means I dont have to go too long without a Roti hit! I d share a photo but that would mean I d have to pause before eating it, which is a hard feat.
