Accessed via a discreet doorway on Rupert Court, Evelyn’s Table at The Blue Posts is an intimate counter dining experience in the former beer cellar of the pub, serving a five-course Modern British menu. Evelyn’s Table has held a MICHELIN star since 2022.
Here, guests can watch the chefs meticulously prepare each course, which I personally am a fan of, as this close interaction with the chefs offers a rare glimpse into the behind the scenes of every dish, making each bite even more special.
An unforgettable experience that transcends dining—it’s a journey for the senses and the soul. Evelyn’s Table is more than a Michelin-starred restaurant; it’s a place where food becomes art, and emotions take center stage. One particular dessert, with its delicate white chocolate notes, transported me straight back to my childhood—a testament to the power of culinary storytelling. Each dish is a masterpiece, from the aromatic Cornish Pollack to the exquisite Mallard, presented with precision and passion. The wine pairings were equally extraordinary—each glass came with its own story, like a captivating bedtime tale for adults, perfectly complementing the meal. The open kitchen adds to the magic. Watching the chefs work in seamless harmony, creating dishes with such finesse and without a sound, is nothing short of mesmerizing. The waitstaff are equally remarkable—attentive, knowledgeable, and committed to ensuring you feel utterly pampered. We floated on a cloud the entire evening, completely immersed in the experience. This is, without a doubt, one of the finest restaurants I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. I hope these words do justice to the brilliance of Evelyn’s Table.
Not worth it to try. Not at the level of Michelin one star. Only the appetizer is good. 5 course on the memu are very ordinary, Third course Very salty(Very!!) Pork is very dry abd difficult to chew. I didn't expect this level of food to be rated Michelin star. There's one more important thing⚠️ the final dessert with cleaning the countertop together!just next to each other. The hygiene situation is worrying.
An amazing experience with phenomenal Chefs! We celebrated birthdays and every part of the dining experience exceeded our expectations. Emma…Thanks so much for excellent coordination efforts and assistance with special requests. The food was absolutely amazing, every dish was created with attention to detail and flavor pairings that wowed us each time. Unforgettable and amazing sums it up! Thanks again!
Evelyn’s Table is located under a busy bar in Soho, very close to Chinatown. The menu changes every two weeks, offering customers a varied experience. Tonight, I tried the Scottish native lobster and Cornish pollock, along with tender pork belly, beautiful peach raspberry desert—very new English style . Surprisingly, you have to pay for the 5-course tasting menu before your visit. The food was cooked to perfection, top quality, and it was a lovely time for dinner between 8:45 PM and 11:00 PM.
The food was great, specially the starters and desserts. Each dish showed great skill and a wide array of techniques. The service was vey kind, attentive & knowledgeable at all times. Unfortunately the day I visited the seating area felt a bit crammed making of my experience somewhat similar to eating in an airplane. Suggest early arrival to snatch the two solo seats at the back.
Overall good experience / decent quality but I think it’s overrated on Google/social media. The summer menu feels to me a very strong association and seasoning with seaweed (from starter to main dish) which is both very sweet and savoury (probably too salty). So unfortunately I can’t say it’s a balanced and well designed menu.
Very good experience. They have maintained its quality since the start 6-7years ago. Really loved the wine options and the hospitality from even before starting dinner. Was a personal fan that they have a couple of Sake options
Truly remarkable... it offers a definitive experience with outstanding food and a completely immersive atmosphere.Amazing!
We ve been coming here for years. Food and service are consistently impeccable, and the no/low alcohol pairings are very thoughtful. Cannot praise this place enough!
Pros: Great food Great service Cons: Have to wait for everyone else in the slot before eating The eating area is way too small - imagine eating in a tiny basement Seats (kitchen stools) are uncomfortable over an extended period of time Very hard to have a private conversation because everyone is squished next to other. If youre unlucky enough to get the corner seats you basically have to share the space with the people next to you Overall, the food is Michelin star worthy but the environment is similar McDonalds - just fewer seats
The food was spectacular a true delight! Watching the chefs cook right in front of you made for an incredible experience worth the £250 per person. The chefs put in great effort to explain each dish in detail and answer any questions, adding to the enjoyment. While the seating is a bit tight and not the most comfortable, this is understandable given the small space. However, I felt that the wine pairing could have been better presented, and a few of the wines didn t quite match the high quality of the food.
We loved it!
Wonderful experience at Evelyn s Table with a drink at the Mulwray beforehand. The wine pairing, food, service were all impeccable. Even though it s a counter of twelve people, at times you feel as if it is a purely private experience just for you. The head chefs passion for his menu was tangible.
Delicious meal, each course was well thought out and surprising in a good way. Service was very good but I thought it was a little too salesy in places (like the truffle supplement/bar cart). I d also say you probably don t expect to be sat in a crowded basement next to the stairs and toilet for a meal like this, but that s the only thing that lets it down.
Fantastic counter dining experience. The food was superbly presented, very tasty with lots of contrasting flavours and local produce from the UK. The sauces and dressings were beautifully paired. We had three fish/seafood courses, a meat course with pork and the dessert, plus opening snacks and sweet treats. The beverages pairing of half/half proved to be the right amount of alcohol to go with the evening.
The food was amazing. Loved the interaction with the chefs. The wine pairings were world class. From start to finish. As good as it gets.
We dined here yesterday and the entire experience (both at the restaurant and the wine bar upstairs) was phenomenal. The food was excellent and the staff really looked after us and went out of their way to ensure we had an unforgettable evening.
Staff was great. I don t remember all of their names but they all were great. I guess I have to say Isabelle stood out along with the person from Ecuador. That is not to diminish the service provided by the gentleman they were also great. Thank you very much, worth the trip from the USA.
This meal was genuinely the best I have ever had in my life to date. I cannot recommend this place enough and very much look forward to dining here again. The staff was absolutely incredible with an astounding attention to detail. The meal of course was out of this world. I genuinely don t think I could have dreamed up a better experience. Thank you Evelyn s Table team xx Dietary restrictions: They will meet your dietary restrictions as they email before you attend your reservation
Portion was huge and we loved every bite of it!
Fantastic food and experience all around!
Amazing food and ambience! We cant wait to go back.
This is an amazing experience! We went for our anniversary and were really impressed. Food was outstanding and considering the experience really reasonably priced. Service was very friendly and professional. Definitely recommended!
The food had a bit Japanese fusion to it, overall well prepared and presented but the dining environment is the major drawback: the restaurant only had bar table and is located at the basement with no air con. Ventilation is not great especially when there s charcoaled dishes.
One of the best experiences we had in London so far!
This was an amazing experience! This is my third taster menu experience and my first time here and I m impressed. The food was exquisite, the service was informative and fun, the atmosphere was intimate and relaxed. I ll definitely be back again!
One of the best intimate fine dining experiences with a creative seasonal menu in London. Love.
Incredible meal service. All plates presented beautifully and carefully paired with a top shelf wine selection. There is a lot of care taken with everything they do to make your meal a memorable one. Highly recommended!
A wonderful tasting menu experience. My guest doesnt eat red meat and they were very accommodating. Great friendly service. Highly recommend.
It was literally a perfect evening. Outstanding food, delightful & informative staff, good value for money and - thankfully - no loud and intrusive music. Thank you and we will be back.
Best meal of my life! Impeccable service, beyond delicious food and if youre able to you simply ust go.
Being a 12 seater restaurant the feel is pretty private and cozy. I think it sits best for a romantic dinner out or for a private celebration (birthday/anniversary). The service is impeccable and you get the whole experience as you dine while watching the chefs cooking and assembling the servings right on the counter where you sit. As you can imagine it doesn t come cheap. Good selection of wines and interesting wine pairing if going for the suggested selection. Food was of course amazing. Recommend if you are looking for these type of experiences.
Holy smoke that was one of the best meals of my life. The food, the service, and the wine just wow! Dietary restrictions: Catered to pescatarian
What an experience! Out of this world delicious food and great atmosphere watching the chefs cook in front of you. We loved the blend of flavours and the high quality of the ingredients.
This dining experience was absolutely outstanding. Weve had the opportunity to eat at some world class restaurants... and this was absolutely one our top (some 3* ones really pale in comparison). Loved it and cant recommend highly enough.
Absolutely incredible place, food, coffee, music, service and vibe was all 10/10. Jason served me and was very attentive and doing an excellent job. Bravo
The most incredible dinner. Worth every bit of money. The service was incredible and personal and the food was sensational. I will be returning.
Excellent service, food and drinks were amazing. We had a wonderful evening here, and would be come back again Intimate setting, great and unique dinning experience Parking: No parking
A fancy, gourmet experience to be sure. The courses are thoughtful and well executed. You will wish there were 10 seats and not 12 based on elbow room. Even the staff was pushing each other out of the way. But, they were friendly and personable.
Amazing food experience
This is a difficult to get type of restaurant. The space is an intimate basement 12 seater counter with 3 chefs that cook and present their creation in front of you, and 2 sommeliers that guide you through the possible combinations of wine pairing. We were 2 and chose the traditional pairing and the natural wine pairing in order to explore the taste and flavour combinations. The food is extremely good, the flavours range from modern to classic to experimental, with mods to seasonality, Asian influences, modern British, techniques are classic like the usage of beurre blanc, salsify, yuzu and other touches that let you grasp the complexity of the cooking which went into each carefully prepared dish. They have 2 seatings, we had the 6 pm one, and there is another at 8 pm if I remember correctly. The tasting of Cornish fish to start with was sublime, followed by an Outstanding British iberico presa dish, the Orkney scallop and the venison with mushroom and smoked juniper, some stout bread with a crème fraiche and beets ( delicious) plus the Jerusalem artichoke dessert followed by a chocolate log with a ganache of hazelnut inside. The service is great, attentive, and full of enthusiasm, the 2 sommelier are both passionate, competent and fun to interact with, the chefs are friendly and very polite, the food is incredible. The only suggestion I have is to have a dedicated pastry chef, as the desserts are the last part of the meal, and I thought that, albeit being good, they were not as delicious as the mains. Anyway, the dinner was magical and I am looking forward to see this place gaining a 2nd Michelin star !
New York look and feel restaurant, seating around the bar where you can interact with staff and see the chefs prepare the food. Delicious set course menu - except for the artichoke dessert which was not sweet enough to my liking. The wine list is pretty spot on too. Must book ahead as it s a really small but special venue.
We had the most fantastic evening! Starting with a wonderful warm welcome we felt relaxed straightaway. The concept, all dishes and wines were explained extremely well. The food was exceptional and each course blew us away with the interesting flavours and ingredients that all paired beautifully. The attention to detail down to the cutlery on the menu showed how well planned and well executed everything was. We would absolutely recommend to friends and definitely want to come again!
The cuisine menu was adorned with an array of Japanese-inspired elements: varsity uses of miso, fish roe, seaweed, etc. all intricately woven into the dishes to add nuanced touches rather than dominate, maintaining a European fusion essence. Started with an exquisite two-ways of Cornish fish appetizer, which was, without a doubt, my highlight of the evening. The warm dish was a marvel of texture and taste tender fish enveloped in konbu leaves, roasted to achieve a perfect balance of moisture retention and flavor infusion. The sauce was a delicate blend of fish roe and seaweed powder that enhanced the umami, making the warm dish an embrace of comfort. The cold dish offered a refreshing contrast, with sashimi brought to life with leeks and a zesty apple sauce. Continued with a first main course of Iberico pork, showcasing three distinct cuts shoulder, butt, and leg drizzled with basil leaf oil. The dish was paired with a non-alcoholic drink left a lingering spiciness, courtesy of jalapeño, that was nothing short of mesmerizing. The second main dish scallop sliced and accompanied with four distinct methods of swede preparation. Sourdough and beetroot cream cheese came to transition between courses, striking a rare balance. The final Lake District venison served a decent conclusion to the main courses, although didnt quite captivate as the previous dishes had. The predessert rejuvenated the tasting experience lemon jelly and panne cotta-alike milk custard accompanied by a trio of honey and fruits embodies a balance of sweet and sour. The dessert, ambitiously combined the homemade vanilla ice cream and hot truffle caramel sauce, was a bit overwhelming, at least to our tolerance. The intention was bold, but the presence of black truffle felt out of place, casting a shadow over the otherwise harmonious blend of red beans and ice cream. Overall, I enjoy the boldness of experiencing the combination of different flavours, truest adventurous and worth trying
Truly unique flavours, incredible attention to detail.
When a friend suggested joining her at Evelyn s Table, I wasn t sure as it seems expensive. But I am so happy I decided to go. The food was amazing, service mostly good. Each dish explained and everything a pleasure except perhaps dessert on the day we went (far too cloyingly sweet) but every other dish was spot on! Atmosphere (ie other diners) was rather subdued as there was an air of quiet seriousness about food (I think we were given a couple of looks for laughing as we were chatting - but it was just the day we went. It is a 12-seater restaurant so very dependent on who is there on that sitting). All in all I would recommend going at least once. PS you can arrive early and have a drink at their bar upstairs.
One of if my favourite places in London (if not my favourite). Getting a reservation isnt easy but the staff are very helpful and friendly. When you arrive there is still an air of mystery as you dont know what the menu is but it most definitely did not disappoint. Chef table type concept but with multiple chefs. Each course was amazing and there was much discussion about which was the best dish (proper hair splitting). We took a dear colleague for dinner as she is returning to Oz so we opted for the wine pairing. It is extravagant but it really set the whole experience off. If you enjoy food (the art and the science) if you are able the then make reservation and be prepared for a real treat. I will return, it is not a visit once type of place. The sommelier was brilliant as were all the staff and chef. It was an intimate atmosphere that Ive never experienced before. Superb
A really special experience!
Amazing evening with delicious food. Attentive staff and excellent chefs. Incredibly grateful to the team for helping us celebrate a big birthday. Thank you. Dietary restrictions: Edited dishes to cater to members of our party who did not eat certain foods. Provided a low/no alcohol wine pairing as well
Unreal experience, food was amazing, chefs attention to details is well noticed. Front of house are brilliant and recommend great wine.
A feast for the eyes and taste, a unique dinner
If I had to describe this restaurant in one word, it would be: alluring. Because Evelyn s Table was every sense of that word and more. From the moment we stepped into the little place, tucked away in the heart of London, we were greeted by a quiet and cosy atmosphere. As we sat at the bar table, the sommelier advised us through their wine options and the chefs brought explained each piece of the menu they placed before us. Would highly recommend this place!
The food was excellent but it all felt a little rushed. We didnt get to finish our glass of wine that went with one course before the other one arrived already. Same with the food. It was clear that a next shift was coming which is a shame for this kind of experience. Very friendly service by everyone of the crew. Overall conclusion: it was a nice night out but a bit pricy for the overall experience.
Loved my experience here. Service is top notch! Food was one of the best. The space is a bit tight but it doesn t really matter.
Absolutely fantastic meal. Incredible value for money too. A lovely dining setting with great service and the attention to detail with the food was outstanding. One minor negative point was the service from the doorman as we entered the restaurant (you enter through the side door of a pub). He was unfriendly and in my opinion quite rude. I was not expecting to be told just go to the bar and get a drink, we ll get you when we re ready when we arrived on time for our table sitting at a Michelin starred restaurant. And I definitely didn t expect a response of okay just wait in the pub, we ll get you when we re ready when I told the doorman that we didn t want a drink in the pub. In fact - it really annoyed me, which just goes to show how good the restaurant is. I ve still given it a 5 star review and it was one of my favourite meals. Maybe have a word with the doorman though!
The most incredible experience. Cannot fault the service, food and incredible atmosphere, everything was perfect! We loved the langoustine and venison in particular, but were blown away by every course. The sommelier and chefs were so lovely when explaining our pairings and dishes - Book in advance and absolutely make this a must visit. Thank you!!!
Food was exceptional, great intimate space, and the staff fantastic! Shout out to our sommelier Isabelle for some excellent pairings.
On paper this place ticks all my favourite boxes. Was it my favourite place, no, was it good, yes but it could have been soo much more. Its a nice experience, the setting it great, intimate, you feel special but... It was the first tasting menu that I was hungry afterwards, the chef interactions were pretty poor, it was expensive and didnt feel it valued the bill at the end. We did have a nice time, our waitress was fantastic, and it was a good group of people at the table. 4 stars
Useless restaurant
Could really not have loved this anymore. An intimate experience, delicious food, excellent service, passionate chefs and sommeliers I ve definitely paid more for less fabulous tasting menus. Will definitely be back next season! Thanks to everyone in the team for such a lovely evening
We have been lucky enough to visit these guys on a few occasions, each one of them special. Exquisite food, fun atmosphere, and of course Aidans wine selections are the best.
One of the finest fine dining restaurants in London. Aiden and his team are indeed the best, and I hope to come back again if I can get a table.
Food journey across a delicious tasting menu - 1st time @ Evelyn s Table. Would recommend my best friends (Y/N: YES! Setup: Party of two, at a fully booked 12-Seat counter restaurant. We would have preferred a little bit more space - but it was sufficient. The vibe is low key with dimmed lights and classy decoration. Menu: We opted for one vegetarian and one pescatarian version of the menu. Both convinced, however, the vegetarian lacked some alternatives and instead had elements removed Food: The food tasted fantastic - quality ingredients executed with a innovative twist and great versatility of flavours - to be expected at £120 a head. Service and drinks Did not disappoint, however, drinks felt pricy even for a Michelin star restaurant. Details below: When: Nov 22 Party size: 2 Atmosphere: 8/10 Service: 8.0/10 Food: 8.5/10 Drinks: 7/10 Value for price: 7.5/10 Favourite: Daikon Mini-Burger and Celeriac with blackberries and chocolate dust Disappointed: no disappointments
The only sad thing about the meal was that it wasn t enough. Could have definitely eaten more. Best scallops I ve ever had! Wine pairing was also perfect!
An absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, to our after dinner drinks in the wine bar upstairs (Which you need to book a table) it was outstanding. We are lucky enough to have eaten at Tom Kerridge, Heston Blumenthal (I appreciate that other people may have eaten in many Michelin star restaurants) and this experience was outstanding!! Its personal and emersive, it only 12 covers in an intermediate bar/kitchen environment. It makes you feel very involved and the center and intention, I highly recommend Evelyns table, we will be back, I hope
I have no words to describe this restaurant. Starting from the first course to the last everything was delicious. Especially the pumpkin dessert, I only wish I could have had two!!! The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make the evening even more special. Even the music was on point! I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be going again.
Incredible
Perfect from start to finish.
What an experience! The food was incredible!! Chefs were on top of the game. Thank you. I would just recommend a slightly faster service on drinks so they would come before the food is served. But apart from that, it was exceptional. Thank you everybody for your high level service.
Fabulous, Amazing
Disappointing to say the least. Felt very chaotic from the start - there was no introduction from the Chefs, given this is a bar and kitchen-theatre experience and a tasting menu, this should have been the start to the night, like every other Bar style dinner tasting menu / Omakase experience I have been to. The food was average and very poor substitute for those who dont eat Shell Fish (an avocado square, a extremally salty mushroom fried and a rolled up picked vegetable). I mentioned to the host that I didnt want to eat the Pigeon leg dish and they offered absolutely nothing as a substitute. So I, along with 2 of the other guests missed the course, with no offer of an alternative or even a gesture of goodwill. Instead we sat there without a dish infront of us, while everyone else on the bar ate - Not even a slice of bread. This set the scene for the rest of the dinner. The sassy attitude from one of the hostess was abrupt and unhelpful to accommodate the party. Still to mention, the full price was paid for regardless of not eating an entire course and no acknowledgement of this was addressed. The 5 courses were disappointing and nothing exciting in terms of the flavours. The only saving grace of the dishes was an extra dumpling that they created as a tribute to china town. Being a regular diner at The Barbary and loving the food and atmosphere there, I was excited to try the restaurant groups Michelin started restaurant, But instead I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth. This was not only about the atmosphere or service of the evening but the last dish of the desert was so acidic and pungent, so much so that I left it with only 1 bite taken. The rude leaving gift I received from the hostess was a comment everyones taste is subjective! Not something that I expect from an establishment that has been awarded a Michelin Star. They mention on their website that everything is designed to provide a kitchen-theatre experience - there was no such thing to my experience. No introduction to set the experience, no continued conversation or interaction with the guests to have them involved and limited to little accommodation for alternative options. I left with a negative feeling about this experience and one I will not be recommending to others. The Barbary yes, but Evelyns table unfortunately not!
The most amazing food I have ever tasted along with impeccable service! A hidden diamond!
Great little spot for dinner. Cant say the wine pairings set the heataher on fire. But food was excellent, friendly service and chefs. Would recommend but go rogue on your own wine selection.
Everything was very delicious and well presented. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, willing to tell us about each dish as they made or served it.
When the restaurant Cancels your reservation that was booked 2months prior the day before you are due to attend! Would not recommend. Been before recently and seen around the building The thick layers of dust in the pub along with on the ceiling out the back in the food storage areas surely is a health and safety issue?!
A truly special treat ideal for a romantic evening out. Absolutely loved the food; interesting drinks. The experience was seamless and the service from beginning to end was so smooth.
We had a great time at Evelyn s Table. All dishes are well presented and explained by the lovely staff. Can only recommend, it s a great experience, amazing food and great playlist. The team even reserved a table for us for a pre dinner drink in their wine bar upstairs. Only point to mention is that we felt a bit rushed - they have two sittings a night at 6 and 8.45pm.
It s definitely one of the best Michelin starred restaurants dinning experienced I had. British produce, and Scandinavian and Japanese techniques and classic French touches. It s really difficult for me to decide which dish is the highlight of the day. Worth visiting and will come back again
Phenomenal. Reminds me of Momofuku Ko in NYC before they moved to a larger space. Intimate and great vibe. The dishes were unique but approachable and nothing was forcing the issue. Used a lot seasonal produce which I appreciate. There are a few inbetween dishes that were off the charts but I won t ruin the surprise. Drink pairing was great. The team are super nice. This was by far the best meal I ve had in a long time and it s much more reasonably priced than most other places in their class.
This was an absolutely incredible experience. The food was amazing while being creative and of the season. The wines were wonderful. The chefs and sommeliers seems like they loved their jobs. Definitely worth it!
Amazing experience! Loved the intimacy of chefs table and the food was next level good! 5/5
This is one of the best tasting menus we ve ever had. Incredible food - all courses stood out as exceptional. Good service and great setting too.
Imagine a restaurant that can give you surprise in every dish, difficult right? Evelyn s table did it. The most impressive dish for me would be the lamb shoulder potato ball pairing with rose. Quite strong and powerful taste from the lamb s original flavor. Pairing with rose brings the flavor to the next stage. Pretty amazing. Also, the steamed cod is great as well! I have tried many steamed cod before and most of them are with a special soy sauce and it s the first time i try it with creamy sauce. Great! My favorite wine would be fiction . It s just like a movie, vivid and dynamic. It comes with smooth first, and acting with oxygen to give a sour flavor after several minutes. Overall, would definitely love to see you guys again!
Made our trip to London. Thought the staff was amazing and the ambience could not be beat. Everything we had was excellent.
What a fabulous evening and amazing gourmet experience! The food was delicious, the wines excellent and paired perfectly, and the service flawless. The setting is unique and intimate, contributing to the overall experience with the food being prepared in front of you. Truly one of the biggest highlights of our London dining adventures.
Pretty good
Everything was wonderful - as soon as we entered until we left the building, it was wonderful - the food, the service, the drinks - I could do it all again.
Amazing evening of delightfully prepared dishes of a 5 course set meal with a couple of additional surprises. Attention to detail on every course. All prepared in front in an intimate setting. Only 12 covers.
My friend requested no raw fish dietary requirement, and got answer OK. But still served with cold smoked trout, and one of the chefs argued smoked is cooked.. Cant believe it.
A marvellous meal. To ensure a relaxed seating process (and likely upsell of decent plonk) you ll most likely be escorted to the wine bar upstairs before you are seated in the basement restaurant space. Do not fill up on the addictive bar snacks (come back when you re not dining downstairs) I ve been a fan of the food from this restaurant group for years - the menus not cheap but the food is consistently good which is a mark of quality. The last time we ventured downstairs the food was Italian, tasty but pricey and as we kept ordering to try more dishes it ended up being quite pricey. This visit we found the front of house team at Evelyn s Table the right amount of friendly and the chefs good natured in the face of a silly amount of cellphones during service (which I too am guilty of) Like most good tasting menus, you ll find yourself pleasantly full despite the Lilliputian portions. Whilst the secret slash bonus dishes (sorry, courses) deliver the perception of value, they re so fun and tasty you ll wish there are more hidden courses. Recommended for those who genuinely like food and flavours, British seasonal produce with a typically London mix of flavours and cuisine and aren t looking to be seen and just want a nice dinner. The price point makes it more of an occasion than a weekly dinner, and I m looking forward to visiting each season for a pay day treat
Its a joy watching the chefs prepare the dishes with such care on flavours and presentations. Food was delightfully delicious! Left out drinks as we re allergic to alcohol. Service impeccable!
Amazing food paired with amazing wine, sake and bubbles. Only 12 seats available and that delivers a unique dinner experience with chefs creating their master dishes in front of you. Would 100% recommend. They definitely deserve their Michelin star.
Relaxed, informal and extremely delicious. We loved the way you can chat to every chef as they each take turns to present different courses. Super place I would love to go back in the future. We also had a pre dinner seating at the wine bar upstairs which is a must to get the full experience, the sommelier is top class.
Outstanding food and overall experience
We had a wonderful evening. Very small restaurant with only 12 seats at the Bar im Keller. The food was high quality and excellently prepared. The wine and sake selection was fantastic. The service was very friendly and funny. We would love to come back.
A very intimate space for 12 diners in the basement of a very old pub. You are seated at a counter with the kitchen on the other side of the counter. You watch the chefs use sophisticated techniques to create the most tasty, delicious food you ve had in your life. The wine pairing adds a whole other dimension. This is more than a meal, and should not be missed.
Excellent food, wine pairing and service. While the intimate setting contributes towards the experience, spacing between guests is a (very) small detractor.
Absolutely fantastic experience of French/Japanese inspired cuisine! A very worthy use of a rare evening out. I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys delicious and interesting food in an intimate setting with the best hosts. The alcohol pairing was also one of the best Ive had - very thoughtful and delightful choices which commented the food perfectly!
The atmosphere was great, the servers and chefs kept us entertained throughout the night and were very knowledgeable. The food was amazing, and the wine pairing was surprisingly good. We enjoyed the night very much.
Everything was amazing. It feels very intimate with only 12 diners & great to be able to watch the chefs at work. We went for the wine flight, which added to the experience. Loved it.
This placed deserves more than one Michelin star! The food was incredible, the chefs were so attentive, and the ambiance was cozy and intimate.
Amazing dining experience, fantastic staff in an intimate setting with some of the best food I ve ever had. Highly recommend this restaurant.
My partner and I visited this restaurant last week. There was a worm in a dish. However, the chef took the worm out of the plate and crumbled it to say it was bean skins. It is unacceptable for a Michelin star restaurant. The atmosphere was not good though. Some guests have to wait for the course whereas the others have already finished this course.
Ive visited Evelyns Table twice before when it was run by the Selby brothers. This year, James Goodyear took over as head chef. The format remains the same, with a tasting menu featuring five main courses and two accompanying snacks. The dishes retain some Japanese elements in their seasoning. While the flavors werent as impressive as my previous visits, they were still quite good overall. However, my experience was marred when I found a wriggling insect in my bowl while eating the Day Boat Fish dish. Likely it came from the decorative plants. When I informed the chef, he brought over James, who after examining the bug, removed it with tweezers and crushed it, assuring me it was just the skin of a bean and not to worry. I can understand the occasional insect in organic vegetables, and even if they explained that they couldnt replace the dish due to limited servings, Id understand. However, simply destroying the evidence and offering such an explanation made me feel unpleasant.
Food was amazing, really enjoyed the entire experience! If youre into your food go for it. Only think I can say is the white pairing isnt great if you dont like white wine, but this is just a personal preference
I cannot fault the food, it was exceptional. Particularly the trout which was sublime. Service was also exceptional. However Im a wine lover and the pairing was beyond bad at £80 I expect the the best given we getting 125ml per course. The intrusion of a cider was nonsensical, it was bubbles all the way down and mostly white with the only red tasting flat, Im not even going to mention the dessert wine. If you go, order a bottle of wine and be done with it, cos the food is fantastic
There aren t words to describe how wonderful dinner was at Evelyn s Table. They should have more than one Michelin star. The entire experience was perfection from the second we walked in the door. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the chefs were very personable while making mind blowingly good food. Every dish was fantastic and the wine pairing was very unique and exploratory. Even the music selection was perfectly executed for the feeling of the space and the meal. It is worth every penny and second invested in having a meal here.
The food was truly delicious. The wines were well paired and explained with wonderful enthusiasm and genuine knowledge of the wines. All staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Only slight downside is the space is quite compact so you might find yourself accidentally clashing elbows with a fellow diner, but the food is 100% worth it. A delightful place - we really enjoyed our evening.
Amazing food, the service was impeccable. I loved the intimate setting and the staff were unmatched. Absolutely amazing evening, would definitely recommend and would love to go back.
Good experience with good value
Outstanding meal. Had a fabulous time last Monday. Very excited to have finally got a seat at this great place. Very well looked after by the 2 lovely, enthusiastic and charming front of house gals. Great to have the chef explain everything and the wine pairing was brilliant. Thank you for making our meal such a pleasure and so delicious. Hope to be back soon when I can get a seat again. Sophie
Adorable intimate dining, only a dozen or so seats and all at a counter overlooking the chefs working, great experience, food was exceptional, staff were super friendly and informative. Highly recommend the half-half on the drinks pairing that way you can venture into more adventurous drinks!
They really deserved that Michelin star!
wowzas! I ve been to some incredible restaurants, but this was something else. The intimate basement setting was the perfect stage to this culinary experience. Watching the chefs at work, both mastering the kitchen and hosting the guests in a personal, fun manner brings the whole evening to life. The delicately curated dishes were a sensation on the eyes as well as the taste buds. My favourite part however, has to be the wine pairing and the deeply thoughtful and eloquent introduction to the vineyard, production technique and grape, the sake was like nothing I d have before, the sommelier was so passionate and warm. A really unique and special place.
Very nice food but the service is a bit less of satisfactory
OUTSTANDING! Visiting from NYC and I had the best experience. So lovely. Thank you.
Great food and amazing service. To the lady who looks like Dadi Freyr, can we be besties?
This place is amazing, hidden gem worth going to. Best experience and the food is magical
Henry and Co. really know how to throw down in the kitchen. Id skip the wine pairing next time though.
Visited the restaurant earlier in the year and it wasnt even as good as social media rumours had it...the only thing that was good was the tiramisu at the end.
We somehow managed to go despite the reservation, which opens on the first day of every month and fills up within minutes. Its a good thing we were persistent. It was a great experience overall. It was already a visual feast, and on top of that, we had a delightful experience by getting great information about both food and wine. Thank you very much. I recommend that you start with 1-2 glasses of wine upstairs beforehand.
Best restaurant I have been to in London
One of the best fine dining experiences in London. Perfection- food- and service-wise.
Amazing food. Great service. Great place!
The most delicious flavour experience you will ever have
The most amazing and intimate dinning experience I have ever had... To anybody wanting to try great food, paired with fantastic wine served with a smile look no further. Get yourselves booked in long in advance as there are very limited seats.
Wonderful experience, super intimate, incredible food and it was amazing to watch the chefs work so calmly. Extensive and really interesting wine list. Such a treat!
Simply the best meal I have ever had
If I could give Evelyns Table more than five stars, I would. Not knowing what to expect when walking down to the restaurant, which is in the basement of a Soho pub, this was an unbelievable dining experience. Intimate but not intimidating, beautifully presented food full of flavour, and a great 90s hip hop playlist. The vegetarian options were creative and delicious. The chefs were personable and explained each dish as it was presented to us. We were delighted with the variety of the dishes and it was an experience to watch them being prepared in front of our eyes. Cant wait to go back.
The new standard by which to judge any meal I consider best
The best value for money Michelin 1 star restaurant in London. Oriental crossover is a trend in European dining these days, and although it is usually disappointing, this restaurant is excellent. Asian Touch European Fine Cuisine recommended by Asians
Beautifully prepared ingredients from the British Isles with a delicate Asian influence. We enjoyed the well designed tasting menu with the wine paring. Practically perfect in every way.
I took my wife here for her Birthday and we were not disappointed. Amazing food & drink, ambience and exceptional service!
Phenomenal experience end to end. Creative and innovative.
Great dinning experience
Visited this place after reading all the rave reviews and all I can say is, believe the hype! Evelyns table is absolutely phenomenal, we enjoyed every single dish presented and the brothers explained in intricate details what each dish contained. The venue is intimate without feeling squashed and the staff were extremely attentive.
Thurs is hands down the best food Ive ever had, every course was fantastic. The service was so good as well. Absolutely loved it here
Worth every penny ! This Michelin star restaurant is just that for a reason. Very knowledgeable and professional staff all around. The food was absolutely incredible, nothing less. More importantly, their carefully selected wine pairings were equally as impressive. 10/10 recommend. Must eat here if you are in London!
Without a doubt my best food experience in London. Amazing atmosphere and the food is great. Surprised of the value for money! Absolute worth it!
We had a great meal at Evelyn s Table and it was so worth the 5am alarm setting to grab a reservation. They have the whole process down from welcoming you, to offering a cocktail and getting you settled. Each of the five courses (and a few surprises) were unique, beautiful and most importantly delicious! We normally don t do the wine pairing (tend to select our own) but given the unique nature of the dishes, we left ourselves in their hands. They had great wine and sake selections and explained each one. The meal was perfectly paced and we didn t feel rushed but also it wasn t drawn out like some tasting menus can be. Highly recommend having a glass of wine before or after your meal at their upstairs wine bar The Mulwray (they ll arrange a spot for you). Can t wait to return.
3 chefs, 5 stars. Amazing. No further questions.
Absolutely phenomenal meal, arguably one of the best I ve ever eaten?! I went here back in January 2022 and realized I never left a review so here I am going back to make sure I share! I was recommended Evelyn s Table from a family member and visited there solo while visiting from New York. I was blown away. I left very full, quite buzzed (the sommelier is next level!!!) and just so impressed. The intimate experience, music and especially the service leaves an impression on you. They are warm, attentive and have the evening down to a science. The food is perfect. It made quite the dent on my wallet but is most certainly worth it. I ll be back next time I m visiting from the states!
It s too good tbh. Almost ate my own tongue
The food and service here are amazing and well worth the hype and difficulty of getting a reservation. Every course was a winner and the drinks pairings really worked. Well be back!
Beautiful, intimate setting and seeing the Selby brothers in action at the kitchen counter seats! The menu during my visit seemed to be Japanese influenced, which was right up my alley. Every set was commendable and the flavours all combined well together! Will definitely be back.
Faultless.
Exquisite food experience
Wonderful experience. We stayed in this intimate restaurant and it was all wonderful. mennu made up of 5 courses and recommend pairing with wine. Everything was perfect from eating to drinking to serving. Very nice to eat and see the chefs cooking for you and the very knowledgeable sommelier put us at ease. Really Recommend!
Always perfect. My favorite restaurant in London!
Very nice food with detailed description and friendly service.
Its comfortably up there in top 5 all time restaurants. The food is wonderful and theres a few surprise dishes which I wont post pictures of to try and keep it that way.. Difficult to pin point a stand out when every dish had something unique, and was really tasty. Special mentions for the oyster with tempura with all kinds of wizardry on top and the version cooked to perfection. Its fine dining food without the pretentiousness. The setting is really special watching all the talented chefs at work. Its a lovely touch with each course they explain all its components. The 2 additional staff are really friendly and welcoming and the playlist was great. Loved it all.
Wow! We visited here last night and had the wine pairing menu. The food and service were both incredible. Really cool atmosphere and not pretentious, like you can sometimes experience with this level of dining. Loved it. Will be back and hugely recommend! On a side note, they have the best playlist too.
Wonderful hidden gem. Worth the effort to get a booking. The food was perfectly executed and mixed traditional European and Japanese flavours RTO great success. The staff were all lovely. Great non-alcoholic drink options as well.
Great dining experience - definitely up in the top three in London. Much better than some of the michelin star spots in London. Amazing service and attention by the three cousins. All yays, only nay - no matter where you get the coffee from no espresso shot in London is worth £7, especially when you don t disclose on the menu. Espresso aside will keep coming back for more
Amazingly good food, especially the cacio e pepe
Great food. Small space. Make sure you sit at the counter and watch your food prepared
Third time and still great. Highly recommend.
Relax whilst you watch the experts create deliciousness, just for you. Then devour. Brilliant.
Fantastic restaurant, cosy environment with mostly counter seats watching the chefs prepare. Aubergine and Truffle linguine for starters. Plaice and skate for mains. Chocolate fondant and Tarte tartine to finish. And all dishes without exception were delicious. Excellent kitchen!
Seems like theres a new chef and menu. Food is now very much modern gastro pub style... I feel it doesnt really fit the vibe and atmosphere of the open counter bar, and while the food was really tasty and theres nothing really to complain about, theres nothing really new or exciting about it either.
Found under a small pub off Piccadilly Circus, this really is a hidden gem. It has just 12 covers available, all sitting at the chefs counter, resulting in an intimate dining experience. The Italian food tastes great and is beautifully crafted in front of your eyes. Its a perfect venue for dinner for two or date night, especially if you apprecaite good food.
I honestly think this might be the best place Ive eaten in London. Ive been twice and you absolutely have to start with the Linguini, its perfect. For mains Ive tried the beef short rib and the Skate, both were amazing but the short rib definitely wins out. The desserts are also amazing, I cant recommend this place enough!
Fantastic experience. U might be bothered with some smells or smoke due to the cooking process happening in front of u but wont stick to ur clothes when u leave. Food was superbbbbb. I had the best ribs ever. The quality of the meat with chief experience made an ultimate dish. My wife had the linguine pasta and was places in a bed of foam clouds equally as good. Deserts were great thx to the mastery of the chiefs at its best. I believe the place is very undervalued and could easily b a michline star contender. Few items on menu but all with superb impact. Best of u get to see the magicians in the kitchen doing their dance of preparing these amazing meals. A must do with ur partner
I love to eat at the counter and this is the best I have tried so far. Everything is perfect, the counter is large enough, the chefs that cook in front of you are very clean and prepared as well. The food is really good: we tried a lot of small dishes and the star of the night was the beef tartare with an ouster and oyster leaves as well. Really good experience
My favourite restaurant in London!
Fantastic little restaurant. Small venue.. maybe Seats 12-15 at a time but the food is exceptional. All prepared right in front of you. Extensive and very good wine list. Service as you would expect for such a small venue is attentive without being intrusive. Love place... happily go again tomorrow Circa £500 for 4 (10 plates, 4 bottles of red wine plus dessert and a few other drinks)
Delicately balanced and carefully presented dishes. Book in advance as it does not seat more than ~20.
My partner and I had dinner at Evelyns Table last night. Its a small space with seating at the bar or on one of the 2 person tables. Its super cute and dimly lit, great for a date or special occasion. The menu is simple with all italian dishes designed to share. The food was incredible, the service was great too! Highly recommend.
This is a very special place serving fusion food. I was going there in couple. The service was extraordinary and the food unbeatable. I recommend the Pavlova dessert.
Fantastic setting, food and service. Would highly recommend
This is my absolute favourite new find! Only seating 11 people in a chefs table concept. It feels like you have found a hidden gem when you get there. The chefs and food were incredible. Will be back for sure!
Friendly service - appropriately priced food and alcohol.
Tiny former beer cellar of an 18th Century pub for Modern European dishes and lesser known wines.
Small and pleasant
3rd time coming tonight and still hands down one of the best restaurants. Small and intimate, great counter view of the Chef s at work, able to see their focus on the details. Luke and team are wonderful and so is the food. The tomatoes and basil sorbet is a must. Wow. Great take on a traditional bowl of tomatoes. The hake on sweet corn purée with girolles is an explosion of flavours and delicious. But my all time favourite is the cacio e pepe. Best I ve ever tried and consistently mind blowing. All round, an amazing dining experience. Lovely staff? Super helpful, delicious food and even a great music playlist!!
Fantastic! Really cool place, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something special and different. Fresh food all cooked in front of you from talented chefs, tiny place in the basement.
Great food.
Yesterday s dinner was absolutely incredible! The entire building is compact, charming and they utilize every square centimeter to its full potential. The Blue Posts is a pub, a cocktail bar and a restaurant. We d have loved to grab a pint at the pub before dinner but only made it to our reservation in the nick of time (which is a must to dine at Evelyn s Table, they were totally booked on a Thursday night, it appears we got quite fortunate with our last minute reservation). The restaurant is small, cosy and romantic. With the chefs preparing each dish right in front of you, it makes for a really interactive, intimate dining experience where most dishes come straight from the chef s hands to your dining space and though there are only two servers, they are so attentive and welcoming, we had a great time. After dinner, we decided on a quick cocktail upstairs, where service and drinks were equally amazing. A total must if you re in London :)
Absolutely gorgeous food! We shared 5 plates between 2 and everything we had was cooked to perfection. The flavours were stunning. Presentation was beautiful. Staff were all really lovely and helpful. Everything that other people had that we didnt we also really wanted! Everyone should try the hake! Will be coming back ASAP!
OMG ! The picture will talk for themselves... It tasted even better than it looks. The service is outstanding (Just make sure to not be late to avoid being a bit rushed by the waiters), the drinks good and the chef brings the food to the next level. Good value for money. The concept of 11 seats only and the dinner at the counter make this a full and unique foodie experience.
Didn t like the meat menu. The steak was too gamey. Later heard the place is famous for seafood but not sure willing to visit again.
What an absolutely amazing experience! Super impressed with the food, service, wine and atmosphere! Whats not to love! Plate licking is necessary and welcome!
Loved it! Cozy, great food, friendly service :-)
Good atmosphere, amazing beer.
Tiny little place with really friendly staff and welcoming. Food is superb but does come in small plate selections.
Cool pub, staff very attentive. Apérol Spritz was very good. Different selection of beers. There are also ciders and wines.
Excellent Brussel sprouts, spaghetti cacio e pepe, and special dessert with Earl Grey Ice-cream.
I visited Evelyns table on a Saturday, booked a few weeks in advance. I think I had high expectations, comparing this establishment to other counter seating experiences. Upon arrival for our 9:30pm reservation, we were asked to wait until the table was ready. This was in the noisy ground floor bar. Could have been offered a drink or to take coats but these were not options. Then, we were led to our spots at the counter, which was right next to the door of the stairs (which opened often, and was next to the bathroom). This was already a cramped and busy feeling, asked to push my chair in and take my belongings off the back to not get knocked off. The first questions asked were, still or sparkling, and do you need any help with the menu ... I was expecting more of an introduction and welcome. They were also out of the truffle, which wasnt explained until we ordered, and had more than 1 person assisting us which made it confusing. We had the pizzetta, beef tartare, risotto, sea bass, sirloin, and brussel sprouts. The first three dishes came without explanation or interaction with the kitchen (which is the reason why I wanted to book the counter to engage with the chefs?). Then came the two mains and the sprouts, which the chef did speak to us about. So it seemed a bit odd when he came in half way through the meal. It was a nice gesture that the server took the beef tartare off the bill as we communicated that we didnt care for it. The mains and brussels were really good, and the special fondant dessert was memorable as well. Basically, the meal/experience got better as the night went along, but I wished there was more consistency from the beginning. I would hope to try again, and maybe have a better start to finish experience, and also a better seat! :) Thank you
