4 St James's Market, London SW1Y 4AH, United Kingdom
Hip, wood-hued eatery serving artfully plated seasonal flavors from Australia to India & Ireland.
This was my second visit but I hadn’t visited since 2018 when I had an excellent time. I’m happy to say it lived up to expectations again. The food was delicious and full of flavour. We opted for the 2 courses for £60 but between the three of us, we got a different starter and main to share. As starters, we shared the arepa with eggplant sambal and labneh (loved the flavour and texture), monkfish cheeks (tasted like a deconstructed laksa) and crispy pork belly (good). For the mains, we shared the forbidden black rice (unique dish to Scully and had really interesting but tasty flavour), seabass (well cooked) and the beef cheek pastrami (this was melt in your mouth and so good) as mains. The portion sizes were generous which is uncommon at establishments like this so it was refreshing to see. The service was thorough, helpful and attentive.
Overall the food was good. We had the lunch 3 course tasting menu. The starters we ordered were a miss for me personally. The pork belly with the anchovy sauce was a little too salty for my liking and th monkfish cheeks were just alright. The fish w pistachio sambal main eas a star though! The pastrami was decent as well. For dessert, we had the basil popping dish which was fantastic. Would definitely recommend. We did not really like the pineapple blueberry dessert. It was not very balanced, the blueberry compote was too overpowering. Would have done better with a vanilla or tonka bean cream or ice cream. The service was excellent though and we were offered the arepa and eggplant sambal on the house which was very good. Would recommend ordering that!
Such a special restaurant with incredible food, great service from a welcoming team and a genuinely cool vibe. The flavours were enormous and soundtrack kept you chilled. I will be returning soon to check out the new season menu.
I love the atmosphere and friendly service of this restaurant, dishes were served quickly but you have a lot of time to enjoy them. The portions are very generous and they are of great taste if you enjoy flavours, though you might found some dishes a little bit heavy on the use of oil. Generally it is a restaurant I would revisit with friends, especially given the relaxed environment, you can see their kitchen and service being really friendly.
"We found the eating experience unique in offering shared portions and innovative food combinations. The staff were incredibly well informed and able to give in-depth detail which made our tasting explorative and stimulating. We will definitely be back soon, thank you."
Scully St James’s truly has it all. Incredible food, atmosphere and service. Chef was incredibly kind to accommodate our late arrival and cook some amazingly flavorful dishes - highly recommend the tasting menu, but come hungry. We started with mushrooms, fried octopus and tomato salad. The sauces here deserve their own awards. Our starters and mains are shown in the pictures, and each was its own work of art in addition to be delicious. The other standout? Luis and his fellow waitstaff. They didn’t make us feel rushed, offered suggestions and had great senses of humor. What else could you ask for? Oh, excellent cocktail and wine list - check. We enjoyed their take on an old fashioned and elderflower gin fizz, followed by Georgian, Spanish and French wines/champagne. Plan to spend two hours, enjoy the open kitchen and laid back feel. Cannot recommend more.
Quickly became my favourite restaurant in London (and I am a foodie). I’ve been to 1 and 2 Michelin stars, but to me nothing compares to the experience Scully provides. The richness of flavours, the details, the innovative approach, the portions, the fact you basically have a chef’s table experience and get to watch him working up closely throughout the whole dinner, it’s unmatchable. Never had a better wine flight either - the wine pairing with the arepa it’s unbelievably good. My brother in law is vegan and he said he was the best tasting menu he had too. And the chef is so approachable and nice! I could spend hours writing about the incredible alchemy is done in here, but I will just say: BOOK YOUR TABLE.
What a wonderful experience. From start to finish everything was perfect. The hostess greeted us without even asking our names, then sat us in a nice area in the restaurant where we could see everything. The kitchen has an open concept, so it’s nice to see what they were doing without sitting at the counter. We were served our food at a nice pace and in enough time to catch our play at the theatre. Favourite dishes were the pork belly and spiced cake dessert. The aubergine was served cold, which would have been more complimentary warm or hot. The crispy rice cracker had a beautiful texture too.
Great Tasting menu with interesting and wonderful food combinations. The wine pairing was well thought through and explored some wines you wouldn t usually go for. Service was the perfect balance of being friendly and informative while also being subtle and attentive
I went on the 23rd November for my birthday and it was honestly amazing , my girlfriend booked it as a surprise and honestly couldn t have asked for a better experience, we unfortunately had some problems with the hotel and were 45 minutes late and we rang up and they said no worries , we went in and deeply apologized for being late and having worked in hospitality myself I understand if a booking is as late as 45 minutes majority of restaurants can turn us away but they told us it was no stress and sat us on a table that over looked the kitchen , the hostess was lovely and sympathetic about our reason for being late , the food was divine , and I even received a small plate with happy birthday in chocolate writing with a basil sorbet , the food and service was just amazing , it is at a high price but it is worth it , the chefs were amazing , highly recommend Scully St James , we shall be back without a doubt .
Very original and tasty dishes. Friendly and prompt service and nicely decorated. Open kitchen so you can see what is being prepared. Definitely recommended.
A lot of care in the service, The food at times, in some dishes, had too many flavors and I didnt understand them, perhaps in some dishes there were sauces that overpowered more delicate flavours. We had three courses each which allowed us to try more dishes. The pork belly w bagna cauda was special, coconut mojito very good, the tomatoes with Thai sauce really good even if the tomatoes were a little floury. The chicken was very juicy and the skin was crispy. Since it was my cousins birthday they also brought a dessert with a candle, I must say they were very kind. Chef Vivian also came to the table which I really appreciated. I recommend this place because they treat the raw materials excellently and the service is friendly but also friendly. Handsome!
We had an absolutely stunning experience at Scullys. The food was superb, and our waiter (unfortunately didnt get his name) gave us excellent recommendations for both food and drinks. Would absolutely recommend, and we are very much looking forward to returning soon!
one of best restaurants in London with good price, top quality, nice serving size and very original
This restaurant is fabulous. The food was delicious and the staff were great. Highly recommend
Hands down, best meal we have ever had. 100/10 recommend. Service was impeccable- Sienna was top notch. Highly, highly recommend.
Amazing experience.
I had the best dessert Ive ever had in my life (the chocolate sorbet dish), and the candied baby pinecones in the manhatten were a revelation. The service was good, and so was the rest of the food. Very good in fact. But it wasnt what I think of as fine dining, and I kept thinking, this is delicious, but I could get it in soho for at least a third less. I had the black rice for main, which was the size and had the variety of flavour of a side dish. My friends ordered better.
Wonderful - uniquely delicious food and charming, engaging staff in an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere. We took our mum for her birthday and it was one of the best meals we ve had together. I d absolutely come back. Thanks so much!
10/10

Went for dinner and was blown away. One of the best meals I ve ever eaten. Had a bigger party and they were very accommodating. Sienna was a great server, and the chefs took care of us. 12/10
I love this gem of a restaurant. Fine dining with a relaxed atmosphere. Every mouthful is like eating food for the first time! And every dish in the tasting menu builds on intensity of flavour. The staff are lovely. Big fan of the chocolate pot (not on tasting menu) which is worth going for on its own.cant wait for my next visit.
Dear team and respected administration of the restaurant Scully! I am pleased and looking forward to thanking you for a pleasant soulful evening in a warm atmosphere, amazing host servise & exquisite food. Gratitude for the amazing history of the creation of the restaurant and the history of food through which the most pleasant administrator immersed us. Many thanks to the chef Scully for his exquisite dishes and golden hands! The best restaurant I have visited recently, the best fish I have eaten in London! I can safely say that I will come more and more often, recommend it to all my friends and be sure to inspire my subscribers with my stories and snaps from this restaurant. Sincerely, Svyatoslav !
The food was incredible and overall it was a great experience. My girlfriend is lactose intolerant, The team were really helpful in booking considering this and Scully even changed the dishes to cater for her! Dietary restrictions: Contact the team beforehand with dietary restrictions and they can help you out.
Lovely restaurant, super service and fabulous food.. Thank you Scully xx
The food is incredible! We ve been dinning in different Michelin restaurants in England, just came back from Lake District and Edinburgh This is definitely one of the best. I feel confident to say this is our favorite restaurant in London. We ll definitely come back! Keep it up the great work, chef!
Absolutely perfect! The service and the tastes blew my mind
Dining at Scullys in London was definitely an extraordinary experience. The menu is a testament to Chef Ramael Scullys talent and passion for food. Each dish that came to our table was a symphony of flavors, perfectly balanced and meticulously presented. The combinations of ingredients were innovative, surprising and executed with precision. It s rare to find a place where every bite offers something new, where the flavors unfold on your palate in a way that leaves you in awe. The entire staff at Scullys - Luiz, Fernando, Sienna, and the entire team were not only attentive but also clearly passionate about the food and the restaurant. Their enthusiasm is infectious, and they effortlessly create an atmosphere where you feel like a valued guest rather than just another diner. Its clear that they take great pride in being part of Scullys, and it elevates the entire dining experience. Chef Scully himself is approachable and so enthusiastic. The fact that he takes the time to engage with his guests speaks a lot about his dedication to creating not just exceptional food, but an unforgettable experience. Every aspect of our dinner was flawless, from the inventive flavors to the incredible service. Its the kind of place that makes you want to return again and again, knowing that each visit will offer something new that will delight you. Kudos to Chef Scully and the entire team for creating a dining experience that is truly out of this world. We cant wait to come back and see what culinary wonders await us next time!
good good nice nice Food : 5/5 |
We had an absolutely stunning experience at Scullys. The food was superb, and our waiter (unfortunately didnt get his name) gave us excellent recommendations for both food and drinks. Stand outs for us were the octopus and tomatoes from the snacks, the pork belly starter, the pastrami main, and the popping candy basil pot for desert. Would absolutely recommend, and we are very much looking forward to returning soon!
Food is super unique and delicious and the staff couldnt be sweeter. We will be returning to try the rest of the menu. Its just brilliant here!
STUNNING! Stunning food. Stunning staff. Stunning everything. Food : 5/5 |
Interesting.... My son and I shared each dishes so we could have a good taster of what was being cooked. Two dishes were delicious; the eggplant and black rice dishes were full of flavour and texture. The other vegetarian options we tasted, the asparagus and cucmber melon, were a little odd in combination and tbh I dont think worked, nice to eat rather than delicious they were odd, maybe thats the intention. Atmosphere great. Wine splendid Service friendly
Tasting menu is as unique as it gets. Scully gave us a few plates on the house. Service was very personal and on point. One of the best menus I ve eaten.
Certainly! Here s a poetic reimagining of a review for Scully St James s: --- Nestled in the heart of St Jamess, Scully is more than just a restaurant; it s an odyssey of flavors and an artful celebration of culinary innovation. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance envelops you in a warm embrace, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The menu, a symphony of meticulously crafted dishes, showcases a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. Each plate is a canvas, vibrant with colors and textures that promise to tantalize the senses. The use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients is evident in every bite, reflecting a commitment to quality and sustainability. Scully s dishes are a revelation, each one telling a story of its own. The flavors are bold yet nuanced, with a perfect balance of spices and herbs that dance on the palate. From the first appetizer to the last dessert, every course is a testament to the chef s creativity and expertise. The service is impeccable, with a team that is both knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring that every need is met with grace and efficiency. Their passion for the craft is palpable, adding a personal touch that enhances the overall experience. Scully St James s is not just a place to eat; it s a destination where food, art, and culture converge. It s a journey that leaves you with a lingering sense of wonder and a desire to return, time and again, to explore its ever-evolving culinary landscape.
Phenomenal dining experience from start to finish! The staff was so knowledgeable and we could feel their joy of their work shine through. I highly recommend dining here.
We ate here during New Years Eve from a very extensive menu. Food was delicious. Nice experience, nice to experiment.
Wonderful dining experience. The service the presentation the flavours were excellent. A new London favourite.
This was meant to be a very special night for our anniversary, but sadly the evening turned into an unpleasant experience. I tried to call the Restaurant Manager, Fernando, sent an email to report the below constructive feedback six weeks ago and chased once, but have never heard back - very disappointing for such a hyped, highly rated restaurant. Here is my critique: 1. Coffee machine: we were given the choice to either sit in the far left back towards the till and staff exit/entrance, on the right side along the aisle or on the left side at the window front. I chose the window front, in the hope that we will benefit from some natural daylight and views. About 30mins into our 5-course vegan tasting dinner, early diners started ordering coffee, and the machine, which sat right above my head behind me made such a loud noise that I could not hear my partners voice anymore. This happened a number of times in short succession, which was very unpleasant, given this evening was about quality time and positive vibes, which didnt quite hold up against the coffee machines noise. 2. Bread crumbs/setting the table: After the second course, there were breadcrumbs on the table. The dishes were cleared ahead of bringing the third course, but then the fresh plates and food were placed on the dirty table, which should have been wiped/cleaned between courses as there was sufficient time in between and this level of service can be expected at a restaurant of self-claimed high standards such as the Scully. Between dishes two and three, we had our cutlery cleaned away, but were not given a fresh set of it, so by the time the hot main course arrived, we did not have cutlery ready to start eating. This meant the dish was getting cold while trying to get a waiters attention. 3. Ingredients: the third course (at this point we have been handled by three different team members already) we were served by a waitress who explained to us the ingredients/components of the dish in front of us. Unfortunately, she forgot the fifth and last ingredient, apologised and smiled and walked away. I totally understand that we are all humans and make mistakes or forget things, but at a pricey restaurant with sky-high reputation like the Scully, I would have expected staff to manage remembering 5 ingredients. That waiter also didnt care to find out what the final ingredient was and come back to us with the answer... 4. Smoking staff: I was sat facing the end of the room, looking toward the back exit/entrance next to the till. Staff was going in and out frequently. Whilst this would not have bothered me at all, the fact that they lit cigarettes in vicinity to us, well visible through the window front, was not very nice. I also did not get the impression that they wouldve washed their hands after coming back in, which left me with an unpleasant thought. Nothing against staff being allowed to keep their habits, but ideally not visible to guests. 5. Anniversary: despite placing the note in my reservation that this dinner was our anniversary, none of the staff (neither the hostess, nor any of the 4 waiters we had that night) mentioned a word about it and obviously also did not surprise us with a small gesture. This was very disappointing and whilst we wouldnt have expected to get anything, at least the mention and acknowledgment of it would have made us feel more welcome and valued. Sadly, I wont return to this restaurant under current management as I did not feel valued and there was a clear lack of value for the money.
Our friends recommended this place and I book it on the evening of the day we arrived at London. Warm and friendly staffs, some took times to chat with us. I opted for the 2-course prix-fixed and my wife ordered an entree a-la-carte. The Crispy Pork Belly, Fish Caramel, Sweet-Heart Cabbage & Pomelo Slaw was mouth watering and brought me back to familiar childhood flavors (south Vietnam), the BBQ Onglet, Padron Peppers, Spring Onions, Jerusalem Artichokes, Taleggio was just as fantastic and the portion was perfect. My wife loved her Sea Bass, Baby Leeks, Pickled Mustard Greens, Tauco. We shared the Popping Candy Basil Pot, and the flavor exploded in each bite. Since we were the the only guests at the restaurant, we had photos taken with Chef Scully. What an honor to dine at this fabulous restaurant. Strongly recommended.
Nestled in the heart of the city, Scully is a culinary gem that offers a dining experience like no other. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted by extremely welcoming staff. Our evening at Scully began with a delightful array of appetizers that set the tone for what was to come. The Masala Chickpeas with Butternut Squash and Tahini were a burst of exotic flavors that danced on the palate, while the Salt & Pepper Shimeji Mushrooms with Yeast Vinaigrette provided a savory umami kick that left us craving more. The Arepa topped with Eggplant Sambal and Bergamot Labneh was a true revelation, blending textures and tastes in a way that was both comforting and exciting. The BBQ Asparagus with Burned Butter Tzatziki and Datterino Cherry Tomatoes was a dish that celebrated the freshness of the ingredients, each bite bursting with summer flavors. The Scallops with Friarielli and Green Peas were a highlight of the meal, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. We also ordered the sea bass, which was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. To end our meal on a refreshing note, we savored a dish of melon, pimelo seeds, and alfonso mango that was a symphony of sweetness and tanginess, the perfect way to cleanse the palate and leave us feeling satisfied. Overall, our experience at Scully was nothing short of exceptional. The creativity and skill of the chefs shone through in every dish, and the attentive service only added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. If youre looking for a dining experience that will both surprise and delight your taste buds, look no further than Scully.
A beautiful vision executed perfectly on a plate. Every bite was a marvel and a mystery unwrapped by your own imagination. Personally, I tasted flavour combinations that sparked my inner child. I was grinning from ear to ear. With all my joy and happiness, I found myself asking this burring question! Why are they feeding me like I am in an orphanage? I know its fine dining but come on bruh they didnt have to do me like Oliver Twist. Food so good I would have licked the plate. I shall return but next time just add an extra beef cheek or two.
We decided ti share dishes among our group of 6. What a great choice! Scully s menu is very sophisticated in an unpretentious way. Amazing flavours, quite complex even, enjoyed in a very relaxed way. Truly great place, will definitely visit again.
One word... Wonderful! A very special experience.
I have already recommended to friends who love a food experience. Scully is a genius
The service was great
Fantastic food and service to match, we left satisfied and will definitely be back to try new dishes.
Scully is a unique place with unique dishes. Hats off to the chef and his team. I visit London a lot and I eat here every trip. It deserves a Michelin Star!
Went with some expectations which were blown away! Wait staff attentive, friendly and passionate about the chef - Scully - and their restaurant. Amazing combinations of ingredients that far surpassed expectations. Scully in mind, and palate, is a genius at putting plates together and it shone throughout the team. Well done guys! Will definitely go back as the experience was great value.
Every course was absolutely delicious and an amazing atmosphere!
Best restaurant in London- great creative food and good service!
The best food experience I have had so far!
My second visit, and look forward to returning. This time had the tasting menu - every course an innovative, flavourful delight, with great service on top and an ambience that s conducive to actually having a conversation. Scully s is fast becoming one of my absolute favourite London restaurants. Thank you!
A great dinner at Scullys good food and great direction. Suggestions from the waiter were the grilled asparagus to start, gurnard for main and then the lime creme brulé for desert. The asparagus was nice light and pleasantly different, the gurnard was a great piece of fish however Im not one for steamed fish skin. The lime brulé was immensely pleasing and all in all I would highly recommend this restaurant. Also the rest of my party loved it! Vegetarian options: Great options and even some smoked tofu on the menu!
Best meal I ve ever had.
Amazing meal! The food was delicious, and Scully and his staff really know how to take care of you. Highly recommend.
If you are an Asian person who is sensitive enough to see racial micro-aggression, I would like to strongly discourage your visit, though one female staff struggled to liven up the air of our table.(those 2 stars are for her.) Otherwise, please refer to other reviews. Food
Really impressed with the starters (we had the roasted pumpkin & the arepa)- I could ve just had those and been happy! The mains were good too, but less impressive (at least the fish was- it was good, but could ve used a bit more Flavour). The kombucha was delicious but felt unreasonably priced at £12. Service was great, very friendly & attentive staff.
I have never left a bad review and really didnt want to, however at £270, I have to. The restaurant came with glowing reviews, however the vegan tasting menu is some of the worst food I have ever had. Im sure the regular meat menu is amazing, as the restaurant was full of people seemingly enjoying their food. I cannot emphasise how bad the vegan tasting menu is. One of the redeeming qualities is how polite the staff were.
Palate cleanser was the only thing we liked. The vegan tasting menu is simply not tasty. Im sure non vegan dishes must be spectacular as this restaurant has really good reviews, but I cannot recommend for anyone vegan to eat here. The first dish perhaps was the least bad. The second dish lacked flavour completely, the third was really where we lost hope (noticed by staff and chef too). The replacement dish offered by the chef was okay, but not spectacular (as you would hope from the pricing). We decided to skip the last dish and went straight to dessert. Before dessert we had a palate cleanser which was nice, subtle, tasty and fresh. The dessert however, was not. Did not think it to be possible to get a chocolate sorbet wrong, but alas, it is. In essence, all dishes were acidic and vinegary, and when paired with Kombucha (again, acidic and vinegary) you kind of dont want to eat. The staff were nice, although whilst we were clearly not having a good experience, and then hearing the staff speak about us whilst we were there (albeit not saying anything offensive) you feel as though they lost all professionalism. Cant recommend. Dietary restrictions: They cater to vegans, but I would not recommend this menu at all.
Fantastic food from an amazing team. Such clever flavours and ingredients. Not sure? Just blindly trust, you will not be disappointed.
Nice
We were a large group and managed to order just about the whole menu. The celiac accommodation (gluten-free) was fine, although there were several dishes I wanted to eat but could not. Overall the food was excellent, and I was excited to eat here after cooking from the Nopi cookbook for many years. The service was variable, often slow, and at times abrupt. Dietary restrictions: OK gluten-free accommodation, but there were several dishes I wanted to eat, but could not.
A great place and location, but it was very busy last night when I visited... The wait was too long and the food was a bit cold.
Fantastic tasting menu. So many different and interesting flavours. London has so many different restaurants but this felt very unique. We were very happy we chose it. Thanks to master chef Scully! Give this place a Michelin star (or two!).
The combinations of flavours in the tasting menu just wow Outstanding food
Nice place with innovative dishes and a pleasant atmosphere. We tried the tasting menu which had some tasty creations. However, it can be a be a bit too creative. Pieces of pork belly, scallops and starfruit placed randomly on a plate is not a good combination.
Good
Absolutely everything was remarquable. Flavours bursting with every bite, proper portions, beautifully dressed plates and warm and amiable service. The best restaurant Ive been in London for several years. I highly recommend!
Potentially to do with what we ordered but the food but thought the balance of flavours could have worked a bit better. Definitely on the sour side. Duck was very chewy and difficult to eat though could have been just the piece we got. I liked the pork belly, but potentially more than my partner. Cocktails were ok. The old fashioned was very strong and missed a bit of balance. blue margherita was very heavily salted on the rim. The Beef tendons were very good. Basil pot was interesting tastes. Had a bit of an odd situation with the waiter removing one of our main courses without asking, even though the plate was half full. he returned it. Overall, didnt hit the the heights of a previous visit which is a shame. Cant get it right all the time!
Amazing service, relaxed armosphere, delicious food.
I booked this restaurant for a family celebration and so I was really keen to make sure everything was planned well as we have some quite specific dietary requirements within the group. The team at Scully s could not have been more helpful, they took on board all our groups needs and then checked in with us when we arrived also. We arrived early for our booking but were still warmly welcomed. Everything we ate, was stunning, it was fabulous to watch the Chefs work in the open kitchen environment and the front of house staff couldn t have done more to accommodate us. The restaurant is well laid out and has a really lovely feel to it. A lovely experience all round and would definitely recommend.
Outstanding. From the first drink until the final morsel. Found myself dumbfounded by almost every course on the tasting menu. Each was perfectly balanced and exciting - a delight to eat. You are unlikely to have experienced such an eclectic palate in London. Cannot recommend the place enough.
This evening the team were simply superb. I would not often have cause to comment on exceptional service in a central London restaurant, but this was way above and beyond the norm. The food was as innovative and amazing as ever. You are really getting it right, keep going!!
Great, interesting food and a nice buzz, even on a wet Tuesday evening. Will certainly go back Dietary restrictions: One of party was gluten free and that was no problem
Fabulous innovative menu!!
Wonderful creative and genuine food from the heart. I love this place. Thank you Scully and team for a wonderful evening.
Visited with my best friend we both had the vegan tasting menu. The food was excellent in every way but the service elevated everything! From the moment I walked in I was well looked after, I just had to mention the word phone charger and somebody grabbed one plugged it in by my table before I d sat down. The service was at the right level of a mixture between formal & relaxed. Out waitress despite only having worked there for 2 weeks was knowledgeable, delivered great conversation and most importantly was passionate about her job. I ll be back next time with my wife for a special occasion.
Decided to come here for partner s birthday after reading all the amazing reviews, we wouldn t normally go for fusion food but thought give this a try given the chef s background. The food was interesting but I wouldn t say the flavoring was ground breaking like many others. For me it s more like a nostalgic taste and as if eating a combination of childhood flavors. Guess this is still a really nice thing. It s fine the place didn t recognize the special occasion but we weren t impressed by the male staff who served us in the beginning; he was overly indifferent and then too busy chatting up the ladies next to us. Maya was super nice serving us in the end.
We had a wonderful pre theatre dinner on the 16 July. Food was fantastic and the staff superb.
Excellent !!! We really liked it The mixture of flavours and types of cuisine gives it an international essence worth visiting
Food, service and atmosphere were all exceptional. Friendly waiter Wellington made us feel so welcome and knew everything about the food and the accompanying wine, adding to the experience. Each course and wine pairing worked perfectly together and we only felt full after the last bite. The chefs were interested in our feedback for their new Cherry-based desert, showing how much care they put into every dish. We were a group of 4 people who ate the tasting menu with wine pairing. Overall - exceptional, can t recommend this place highly enough
Our new favorite restaurant! An exceptional experience. Chef Ramael s dishes were exquisite and Bianca s wine pairings were perfect. Thank you for the spectacular evening. We can t wait to come back.
Scully and his team are incredibly talented, a spectacular dinner as always. Good advice is to come really hungry as every serving is as generous as it is delicious. One of the best quality food restaurants in London, and definitely the most down to earth fine dining experience.
No words are good enough to describe the experience. As always delightful, yet unexpected new compositions every time. Fireworks for the taste buds.
I had dinner with my daughter while traveling to London. We set at the counter in front of the kitchen. One of the better experiences I had, the food, the amazing service, watching the kitchen staff. Everything was perfect.
We were looking for a good restaurant in London and fortunately came across Scully St James. It was an amazing experience- the staff was very friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and the ambience great. Highly recommend!
Excellent food (the salt and pepper snack and the arepa starter were so good) and great service
Really friendly staff who are passionate about the food they serve. Food was delicious, melted in my mouth, best restaurant I have been too in a very long time, highly recommend, thank you
The food here is EXCELLENT and Ill definitely be back. The restaurant is smart but has a nice relaxed atmosphere with friendly & attentive staff. We went with the a la carte menu which we felt was good value given the quality of the food and including a glass of prosecco was a nice touch. Every dish was outstanding - the enoki mushroom and watermelon snacks were a highlight, and every dish that followed was delicious, with inspriation from so many parts of the world. Honestly cant wait to return and try all the dishes we didnt get to order. Well done Scully & team :)
We were very happy with everyone. Clear recommendation!
Fast service with very warm and knowledgeable staff. Food was so creative and absolutely delicious!
Lovely restaurant with different choices on the menu. The service was excellent and prices are reasonable for the area. Definitely recommended
Best place to eat worldwide, nothing less then that. Thank for the chef and the crew
The food was excellent and the staff was very accommodating of our requests
Delicious food, great service. Would definitely recommend!
An unforgettable culinary experience What an extraordinary evening we spent at the Scully St-James restaurant. The dishes served for the 7 courses were all exceptional, without exception. Having eaten in countless restaurants in my life, I can certify today that I will have known one of the best. As far as Im concerned, Scully St-James s ranks number 1 on the list of gourmet restaurants. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to Chef Scully and his team for this family evening that will remain forever etched in my memory.
I booked this restaurant for my partner s birthday dinner based on the existing high reviews. Food was good but nothing special, time between dishes was long and they forgot about the aubergine Sambal we ordered. I was also disappointed a birthday plate wasn t prepared.
Great
Food 8/10 Mochi Dumpling: LOVE. Absolutely a must get. It was not shaped the way that I was expecting, but it was super flavorful and textured, in a pleasantly surprising way. The combination of ingredients really blew me away. Arepas: Yummy but quite small, and I even liked the eggplant dip, even though I usually dislike thta vegetable. Crisped Pork Belly: Could be passed on, it was a little cold and too fatty without enough crisp. Cod: Too creamy sauce for me, but it was very tender. Dark Chocolate Sorbet: Very yummy, surprisingly rich for what it is made of. Not the happiest about the 9 pound shot they added to my kombucha drink. Atmosphere 10/10 Love the modern interior, very clean and perfectly temperate. Spacious between tables and lighting was super cool. Service 7/10 Slightly lacking in attentiveness and were acting a bit defensive when I asked if there was any alcohol in my kombucha, but besides that, good service.
Really friendly staff. The food was delicious!
Another great evening at Scully s. Wonderful food, lovely atmosphere and great staff
Took my friend for her birthday as it s one of my favourite restaurants. All the staff were super lovely and attentive, food was delicious (as always),and we all had a wonderful evening - thank you! Vegetarian options: It s a small menu, but I ve never had something I didn t like!
We had the best time at Scully for my partners bday! The food was insanely good and just general good vibes from all of the team in a beautiful setting. We ve been talking about the food all week since our visit. Truly a great experience!
The food is inventive and extremely delicious. Every dish is beautifully crafted and the service is excellent. Every time I eat here, I want to come back again!
incredibly delicious and imaginative creations, enthusiastic and knowledgeable waiters and a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely one of the best restaurants in London!
Great place, very pleased Vegetarian options: Brilliant Food : 5/5 |
We did the pathetic good restaurants near me .scullys was number one. So we went. Best meal we ve had in five years. Excellent service, great wine recommendations and food was so original and delicious, we had the mushrooms, zucchini, pork, cod and hangar, all beyond fantastic! Our servers were amazing, loved the experience!
Amazing food and service! Also, my friend left her iPhone and they called us right away, plus charging the phone while waiting for us to get it!! Super sweet
Best expérience in London. You can sit at the Bar and observe the delicous preparation of the food. Scully and his team are funny, special and wonderful Chefs.
Cannot say enough good things - incredible food and incredible service. We had our five month old with us and were sat at the bar to watch the kitchen. It was a privilege to watch Chef Scully and his team work. Everyone was incredibly kind and the meal was second to none!

We will keep coming back- the food is always delicious and with every new menu brings an even higher standard. Plus its always easy with my husbands Celiacs disease- almost every dish is naturally gluten free and they are so careful to make sure it s safe for him. Get that tasting menu, it s worth it! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
Gorgeous food and such good service
One to return and recommend. It was an honour watch Scully & his team at work and enjoy the food. The dishes are balanced and packed with flavour. The chefs counter is a real treat.
Scullys kitchen is always inventive, well-balanced, tasty, pretty with attention to details on everything. the cod yesterday was cooked perfectly... translucent... Special kudos for the service with attention to details too Food : 5/5
They claim they are michellin 1 star, but their services are below average.
We loved every minute of our time dining at Scully last night, every dish was delectable! Can not wait until we are visiting London again for a repeat. Cheers to a magnificent Chef and team, Lea and Rick Food : 5/5
This was our first time doing a fine dining tasting menu. We were looking for something that had all of the mind blowing elements of a fine dining/tasting menu experience without the judgey atmosphere that often costs near $800 for two. Every single staff member here was welcoming and kind throughout the meal. We re New Yorkers and are used to rushing through meals, however, we thoroughly enjoyed taking our time here for a few hours and taking pauses in between bites. The chef stopped by our table at the end of the night and he was also very warm and welcoming. An all around amazing experience!
Great place! Delicious food and excellent service.
Fantastic experience! Delicious food and top-notch service.
Outstanding place to celebrate a special birthday with friends and family. The service was exceptional - will be back again very soon!
Very creative food with a delicious mix of flavours
Brilliant meal Should be a Michelin star restaurant Thank you Food : 5/5
Totally delicious, every mouthful. Our server Nosshy was knowledgeable and really charming. New favourite restaurant!
I have eaten at quite a few excellent restaurants in London. This is up there with the best. If you are thinking about booking, do it! The staff were terrific, and the food was out of this world! Thank you for a fantastic evening. We will be back :)
I just love this place - it s incredible!
Have been coming here since it opened, 5 or 6 times. We are experienced diners including at highly rated restaurants around the world. This is probably our favourite anywhere. Always inventive and interesting, always delicious, and the chef and staff are first rate and very friendly. We take our most discerning foodie guests and they have always been back to try other menu options. Such a pleasure. Thank you.
Fantastic, innovative food. Loved the black fig starter which is to die for - such interesting flavours which work so well together. Wonderful wine, great service and relaxed professional ambience. This restaurant sets a high bar and deserves to do well.
Thankssss
Wow what an experience! We had the vegan tasting menu, and my goodness it was great. The staff were super friendly and the drinks suggested to be paired with each course were on the money. Thanks for having us! Vegetarian options: Very much not an after-thought on the menu, very enjoyable!
As expected, every single dish was absolutely delicious. The desserts in particular are always such a joy to have, and once again we were not disappointed. The excellent service coupled with the delicious food makes this our favourite restaurant in London.
Brilliant food and great service. The general manager, Bianca, who greeted us at the door and served some of our courses was especially nice. I had the vegan tasting menu and it really exceeded my expectations. My mum had the regular tasting menu and thought it was great too. Every course was delicious! Also, thank you for the complimentary birthday dessert for my mum.
Everything was absolutely amazing. The food uses a bunch of ingredients that are a little unusual, with months of preparation going into each dish. I had three courses and some sides, by the end I was so full the only thing that got my plate clean was how tasty it all was. I highly recommend you try it out!
Tasting menu was superb, amazing flavours and very personable staff
The best restaurant in London you ve never heard of. PROS -vibrant menu, not sticking to one cuisine, a nice fusion of various tastes -presentation of dishes is beautiful, thinking of the curry courgette which looked like a caterpillar -small, cosy and romantic restaurant; available for booking -good location just off Piccadilly -honestly some of the tastiest food iv had in London in 15 years -chef Scully himself visible to customers as he is cooking in the open plan kitchen -menu changes seasonally -we got a free dessert as it was my friend s birthday which was an olive sponge cake, very interesting combo CONS -expensive but given you are getting Michelin-star type food, it s fair -not many vegan options -fairly small portions so you ll need at least 2 courses to feel full
Love this place!
Thank you Scully for helping us celebrate my wife s birthday. Fantastic dining experience made all the better by a knowledgeable, friendly and attentive team.
One of the best dinning experiences I had in a very long time. Top-notch all the way from food to service. Thank you for the great experience and our full tummies.
Great service from a wonderful team and a fabulous meal to celebrate our sons 26th birthday.
Exceptional - nothing less . Really well done chef(s) and also really well done to the serving staff too . Knowledgeable and attentive . Could not fault it all, a sentiment echoed by my three guests . I dont normally write reviews - but this place was special and the team deserve all the credit coming to them. Top tip.. go with a group of 4 and then order pretty much the whole menu to share between you. You will not be disappointed . I ll be back .. as a certain American actor says!
It was beautiful! Like a wonderful dream-umami mammy mammy Vegetarian options: Amazing for a vegetarian special occassion-indeed any occassion-the vegetarian dishes make your heart sing Food : 5/5 |
Not good i have later dünnschiss Not Good !!!!!!!
A truly wonderful restaurant- fantastic from start to finish. Amazing food with outstanding attention to detail, a wonderful atmosphere and lovely attentive staff. One of my favourite places to dine in London!
Brilliant dinner. The aubergine sambal was exquisite and the Tallegio sauce was gorgeous on the onglet. Nice orange wine from Georgia. Perfect Super service as well. I really recommend Scullys.
My partner had been wanting to go here for ages and chose his birthday as the perfect time and it absolutely was. Everything was perfect. The food was honestly insane, we shared the pork starter and the egg plant Sambal as our starters. And both had the BBQ Onglet as the mains. I can t fault anything - at all. It was divine!!! The service was amazing too and we mentioned we were full and had cake at home for my partners birthday but my partner was still brought a little sweet treat and was excellent!!!! Superb food and service 10/10 from us. On the way out I had to tell Chef Scully it was AMAZING! We hope to return soon!
Cannot fault the food or service. Wonderful evening all round and thank you to all the chefs and staff.
A wonderfully different menu that leaves you wondering exactly where in the world the chef s influences come from. Pairing beautifully cooked pork belly and its perfect crackling with a cold cabbage slaw and rhubarb sauce that had a touch of sweetness to it is a work of genius. Sounds bonkers, tastes wonderful. The hanger steak was cooked to perfection and the concept of a telaggio (cheese) dipping sauce works beautifully. Our waiter was even good enough to tell us how to recreate it at home. 2 courses for £55 isn t the cheapest pre-theatre menu you ll find, but it is definitely going to be about the most interesting. It made a nice change to not be able to pigeon hole a restaurant to a particular cuisine. It was varied, interesting and bloody tasty. The staff were excellent and the venue very pleasant, not fussy or trying too hard
Best meal I ve had in YEARS
Another amazing evening savouring Chef Scullys genius. Everything was delicious; in another league. The arepas and cornbread are particularly outstanding amongst an outstanding meal overall. The maitre d is always so delightful and welcoming. All the waiting staff were great. Thank you so much for a hugely memorable feast. Vegetarian options: This is the place to go for vegetarians. Everything is delicious.
We came in November but couldnt post review until now. Horrible service. Dark haired waiter was very aggressive. He seemed very angry about us being last table and we overheard him complaining about us in very rude manor yet it was one more hour before what stays as closing time on Google page. He also smelled like sweat and cigarettes. This truly made for very uncomfortable experience and not as we expected our friends reunion would go.
The food and service was exceptional. Had the taste of a Michelin Star restaurant without being pretentious. A great balance!
