What an amazing experience! The food is absolutely delicious, the Biryani is out of this world ! I never tasted a Biryani as good as the one I had in Quilon, the only thing was, I found the lamb a bit dry by the rice just simply amazing! The rest of the food was superb, I had the Crab cake as a starter and it was really delicious, I tried the Black Cod and Scallops from my colleagues and there were cook to perfection and very fresh Staff are very attentive and professional it was a great experience and I would definitely be coming back!

The food was really good, but the presentation was even better. The mini masala dosas were delightful and packed with flavours; however, the real MVPs were the chutneys that came with it. I really enjoyed their cocktail “Botanical Garden”. I found it complimented the every course rather beautifully. The asparagus, beans and edamame was good, but forgetful. It provided a balanced flavour among all the other items ordered, but I’d recommend you skip this item. What you must absolutely get is the Southern s-a-a-t— these crispy idlis had the perfect crunch, topped with tangy and spicy chutneys with ginger balancing the spice in every bite. Amazing. The staff was lovely, and the service was excellent. The most memorable bit was receiving a printed photo from the staff! I do think it’s still missing the ambience you’d expect, especially with the harsh overhead lights. Introducing softer yellow lights would make it much more comfortable.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had! They also make incredible cocktails! Very friendly and informative staff! If you’ve never had southern Indian(specifically the seafood) this place is definitely worth a try! I could eat here for the rest of my life!

We first read about Quilon a couple of years ago as they offered a tasting menu accompanied with beer instead of wine which sounded interesting. We finally got round to visiting and were not disappointed. After an excellent cocktail each in the bar (the Qojito is amazing) we took our seats in the restaurant and chose the seafood tasting menu to eat. The beer option didn't seem to be there so we went for a bottle of white wine to go with the seafood. From the fantastic poppadoms and chutneys to the delicious desserts the food was all tremendous. Particular standouts were the scallop and the black cod, however all the food was top notch. The portions didn't look small but they were very filling and we certainly didn't come out feeling hungry. Great food, excellent service and reasonable value - it's fair to say our experience at Quilon was worth the wait.

We had an evening with friends at Quilon. Happy with a couple of dishes. Service was good. Could have been better. We were served a couple of dishes complimentary. However that could not make up for the mistakes made with appetizers and main course. The fish and shrimp for appetizers were overcooked. We had the mango fish curry and the gravy lacked flavor. The fried okra was done well, however was missing salt and/or seasoning. The Lamb shank was undercooked. Desserts was good. Chicken pepper was excellent. Cocktails were excellent. I will be back but would stick to finger foods and cocktails at the bar.

I felt as though I was in some paradise landscape in Kerala or near the Indian coast with the absolutely delectable smells and tastes of some of the best regional Indian food I've ever had. This Michelin star gem will not disappoint and everytime I've been here it has been superb in food, service and ambience. I find the restaurant very refined in all ways especially the other patrons who are far more civilised than the guffawers in other high end establishment plus Quilon are way more generous in their servings and palate cleansers as well as wonderful value for money Don't delay book now and treat yourself!

The food was amazing, authentic yet creative and delicious, service could be improved as some of the staff were a little on the back foot. Atmosphere was not up to the standard, dark when it was nice and sunny outside, no music at all and we were seated deep inside a dark nook when the restaurant was empty!

Cocktails 10/10, Starters 10/10, Main course / desert 7/10. The cocktails were outstanding and well presented. Same goes for the starters and they served them on a per person plate basis rather than to share which was also great. The mains (vegetarian choices) are okay with some dishes being better than others. The jackfruit biryani isn't anything memorable and honestly I've had better. The more south Indian orientated dishes such as the mango curry were definitely much more impressive so would recommend choosing those. Overall the service was good. The decor is more traditional inside and can at times feel a bit gloomy when it is quiet. However the main suggestion would be to have some background music or ambient sound as when we went it was not very busy and so felt awkwardly quiet to sit there in silence. Would recommend for the food and drink if you are looking for elevated south Indian food to Michelin standard. Decent choice for vegetarians too.

A Taste of South-west Coastal Indian Cuisine at Quilon As a food enthusiast, I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Michelin-starred Quilon, a restaurant that offers a tantalizing glimpse into the diverse and flavorful cuisines of Goa and Kerala. The Weekday Set Menu I had the privilege of experiencing was a true culinary adventure, showcasing the rich and nuanced flavours of Southwest coastal Indian cuisine. The meal began with two exquisite starters. The Broccoli and Spinach Galette in Plum Sauce was a delightful combination of textures, with the crisp, golden-brown pastry encasing a creamy and flavourful filling. The Baked Halibut coated with Malabar Spices served with curry leaves and kokum, was a delightful display of the restaurants mastery of seafood preparations. The fish was cooked to perfection, with the spices adding a depth of flavour that complemented the natural sweetness of the halibut. Moving on to the mains, the Manglorean Chicken (Kori Gassi) Curry was an absolute standout. The succulent pieces of chicken were cooked in a finely ground fresh coconut-based sauce, infused with a medley of aromatic spices. The result was a dish that was both comforting and bursting with flavour. Next, the Kothu Lamb, with its marinated lamb pieces sautéed with onion, chilli, ginger, and tomatoes on a scorching hot griddle, was a true testament to the chefs culinary prowess. The blend of textures and the intense flavours left a lasting impression. The accompanying side dishes were equally impressive. The Asparagus Beans and Edamame, sautéed with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and green chilis, were a delightful play on textures and temperatures. The Mango Curry, featuring fresh mango cooked with yoghurt, and green chillis, and tempered with mustard seeds and curry leaves, was a delicate and refreshing palate cleanser. And the Malabar Paratha, a soft, layered bread cooked to perfection with pure ghee, was the perfect accompaniment to soak up the rich curries. To conclude the meal, the Bibinca, a Goan speciality served warm with ice cream, was a fitting end to this culinary journey. The warm, custard-like texture of the Bibinca paired beautifully with the cool, creamy ice cream, leaving a lasting impression on my taste buds. I forgot to mention the Mango lassi was simply divine and the mocktails were refreshing. Throughout the entire dining experience, the service at Quilon was impeccable. The team was attentive, and knowledgeable, and ensured that every aspect of the meal was perfectly executed. I would highly recommend Quilon to anyone seeking an authentic and delightful exploration of southwest coastal Indian cuisine, whether its for a casual catch-up with a friend, a business lunch, or a memorable date night.

Quilon is an amazing experience. From the time I made the reservation, I was treated with such respect. Upon arrival, we were offered the option of having a drink in the bar before taking our table. At no time did we feel rushed in anyway. They have a unique selection of exotic cocktails available. The atmosphere is very inviting, and romantic. We were then shown to the dining room, where we were offered one of three tables. The wine list is very extensive, we chose a bottle of Tattinger to begin the evening. The dining room manager is very helpful with regard to selecting Starters, appetizers, and entrées based on your taste. I cannot say enough about the service. Because it was exquisite. The entire staff was very approachable, very welcoming and very accommodating. Vegetarian options: There are tasting menus, both with meat, seafood, or vegetarian Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating for vegetarian, and vegan

The food is always great and waiting staff are all good but the Manager Ashish he is extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming ! I believe he needs proper customer service training and kept well away from paying customers . what a shame the class and level of this Michelin restaurant has come down after this person joining! We went to Quilon with a lot of expectation since it was our first Indian Michelin star experience. Having previously tried one two and three star restaurants in western cuisine, we were excited. We had the Beer tasting menu for dinner. While the food was decent, Im not sure if it was worth the one star Michelin. The different elements within the courses lacked coherence. Somehow I missed the Michelin experience we got the other times we visited Michelin restaurants. The only high point was the beers in the Beer tasting menu. That was really good.

If you are near Buckingham palace, this restaurant is a must visit. Yards away from Victoria station, Try their weekend brunch which is available on Saturday and Sunday. It is a priced at £48 pp. For 5 very authentic and creative courses. Each course was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. We were very full at the end of it. Just the dessert could have had a choice we felt. It was still very good but another option would have made it even more memorable. Service was impeccable. Ambience was calming with subtle Indian instrumental music transporting you to the wonderful Kerala. There is adequate space between tables to enable you enough privacy. Service is efficient and attentive without intruding your personal space. There is no additional charge whatsoever added to the final bill, so no hidden costs like other restaurants. The icing on the cake was to see the celebrity head chef Mr. Sriram Aylur, whose over 20 years of hard work here has earned them a Michelin star. It is also ideal to celebrate a special occasion such as birthday or anniversary. It is now my favourite restaurant in London, I preferred it to Banaras and Gymkhana. But is neck to neck with Jamavar. Go for it. It is owned by a highly prestigious five star Indian restaurant chain, Taj Hotels. They have a Taj hotel right next to it. This is Taj s second restaurant in London, they also have Bombay Brasserie, which is also awesome. I don t understand some poor reviews, if this is not for you, I don t know what can please you! Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Great veg selection. Try their jackfruit biryani. Mango Lassi.

AFFORDABLE LUXURY Michelin-starred brunch YOU MUST TRY Quilon: An Exceptional Gastronomic Experience Located in the heart of London, Quilon is a true haven for Indian cuisine enthusiasts. I had the pleasure of trying their brunch, served every Saturday and Sunday and I was absolutely delighted. A Dream Brunch The Quilon brunch is a feast for the senses. Served at the table, it features an array of exceptional dishes created by their talented chefs. The cuisine is South-West coastal Indian, with a Michelin star to its name. Cocktails and Delights The cocktails are a must-try: the Qojito with green chili-infused vodka and the Closer to the Edge with tequila and house-infused spices were my favourites. As for the food, I sampled both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian brunch menus. My highlights? The kosambari in a watermelon cup, herb-crusted seatrout, mini shrimp dosa, Malabar lamb curry, paneer, and tempered asparagus. I even asked for seconds of the best paratha I ve ever tasted! For dessert, the almond and berries roulade stole the show. And let s not forget the masala chai the best I ve ever had, even compared to my trips to India! Ambiance and Service The service is impeccable: cheerful and well-prepared waitstaff make the experience even more enjoyable. The location itself is fantastic, setting the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. In summary, Quilon is a culinary gem that deserves a visit. I can t wait to go back!

Quilon at Taj 51: Disappointed Expectations While Quilon, the Indian restaurant at Taj 51 Residence & Suites, boasts a mesmerizing decor with intricate details, it unfortunately fell short on the culinary front. The staff, however, deserves a shoutout for their welcoming and friendly service. However, when it comes to the food, Quilon pales in comparison to other Michelin-starred Indian restaurants like Jamavar or Gymkhana. The dishes we tried were, at best, average and lacked the depth and complexity of flavors one would expect from such a highly-rated establishment. We left feeling rather disappointed, especially considering the price point. Dishes: Unfortunately, there werent any stand-out dishes that we could wholeheartedly recommend. The only thing I would recommend, as it was decent but not mind-blowing is the Fisherman s Catch ; a picture is in this review to highlight this food item. Getting There: If youre planning to visit Quilon and using public transport, the journey is fairly straightforward. Take the Victoria Line on the London Underground and get off at Victoria Station. From there, its a short 8-minute walk to the Taj 51 Residence & Suites on Buckingham Gate. Recommendation: While the friendly staff and beautiful decor create a pleasant ambiance, the food, unfortunately, doesnt live up to the hype. If youre looking for a truly exceptional Indian dining experience, wed recommend exploring other Michelin-starred options like Jamavar or Gymkhana. Vegetarian options: There is dosa and some vegan food items. Kid-friendliness: Yes, they are kid-friendly. However, it s a restaurant that is of high opulence and diners liking an element of tranquil.

Highly recommended. Here you can eat refined South Indian cuisine, served as set tasting menus. We ate the fish and shellfish menu with appetizer, eight small courses including a soup and a main dish. The class of the kitchen is evident from the balance between the herbs, spices and the very expertly controlled temperature of the preparations. That was a hit with every bite. Highlights were a crab croquette, a salty-sour herb-lentil-tomato soup (rasam), a shrimp and tamarind curry, fish in coconut sauce, green asparagus and beans with coconut-mustard seed crumble. The freshly baked puff pastry paratha roll was phenomenal. We asked for and promptly received a second one. The dessert may not have been Indian (pistachio chiffon cake with chocolate and a glass of Sauternes), but it was a perfect fit. The atmosphere is stylish and quiet. You can just listen and speak, without drunken screaming people messing things up, which is exceptional for London on a Friday evening. There is no flat Bollywood decor, no loud music and good lighting so you can see your plate. The service is young but reassuring, loose, knowledgeable about the ingredients and never bossy. We took the wine pairing with five suggestions, which was good quality (British, South Africa, Italy, Argentina and French) but perhaps a beer would have been good too. Considering the irrational madness of price inflation in post-Brexit London (April 2024), we paid a very correct all-in price.

A disappointing Michelin experience. The food was really just mediocre with much of it lacking the depth of flavor for which Indian food is famous. In particular, the chef s specialty black cod was bland (albeit, cooked very well). I found the same to be true of the Fisherman s Catch appetizer (save the scallop). The waitress thought that I had not ordered enough and was insistent I order more which made for an uncomfortable circumstance. It created a weird dynamic for the rest of the meal where it felt like she was unhappy with me. Overall, I found the restaurant to be overpriced and not memorable. I think much better Indian can be found in London.

The food is very good but be careful the dishes marked as spicy really are! Masala is 3 chili peppers out of 3 according to the scales we have here. The coconut chicken I would say 1.5 out of 3. I gave it 4 stars because I had the impression that the server was pushing consumption a little by offering lots of sides. Really excellent dessert in the photo (pistachio ball and black sesame pistachio cake)

Decidedly disappointing, especially considering what you are expecting from a Michelin restaurant. Primary server was very professional and accomodating with solid recommendations, but after that there were some clear short-comings as it relates to the service of the food, which is one of the primary things your are paying for. In fact, it seemed like some of the staff was being trained during live dinner services which should never be done. Had to continually ask for water to be refilled, food was bought to the table while one of the two was in the bathroom which meant there was no explanation for what everything was, asked for a spicy and was average heat at most. Overall, for the price paid, was the most disappointing dinner in London for th 5 nights we were there. Would not recommend - go to a mid-level (non-Michelin) indian restaurant and you will be much happier.

*BE AWARE OF BULLY SERVERS* I have come along with my pregnant wife and been bullied by servers behind my back. They were laughing at us with finger pointing, and when we looked at them, they were dispersed silently. Bullying customers is shocking in 2024. I recommend not considering this restaurant, even though the food is nice. Note to the bully servers: We have come as customers, not beggars. Treating every customer equally matters. We have paid £96, even though we didnt fully have our brunch meal. Due to this humiliation, we left the place immediately.

I visited this restaurant on the 19th of April with my wife for a nice meal out. The food on the whole was ok and packed a fair bit of heat. Although this wasnt far off the quality of my local 0 Michelin star restaurant. I found pieces of crab shell in the crab cake and nearly chipped a tooth. However the scallop and Halibut were fantastic. I told the waiter and this was acknowledged somewhat and forgotten about. They had also forgotten to bring a dish to the table that was ordered with no apology, just a want to correct me for saying it was mango instead of pineapple. (We didnt have the menu to hand to look at). Upon finishing our mains which were nice (lamb was unbelievably tender and the chicken tender and moist), the waitress was quite pushy and offended that we didnt eat all the food. She told us we could take our time and finish despite being quite clear we had eaten enough. I eventually asked for it to go to stop the awkwardness with her hanging around the table watching us. I noticed that this happened to another diner sitting opposite us, who cut her food up (to look like she had tried some) in a bid to stop the interrogation from the wait staff as to why she didnt want anymore food. They were approached multiple times and again the same awkward standing and staring. I also found it frustrating being told how to eat my meal when the food was set down. Being told to use my hands with the bread and to dip it in the curry sauce. Seems pretty straight forward to me and when I am paying £200 for a sub par meal, Ill eat it how I want. Dessert did not live up to the expectations either with the panna cotta being rather lumpy, grainy and bland with a bland, runny sauce poured all over. I was left disappointed as this was absolutely not Michelin star service or food. Average food, large amount of misplaced pretentiousness and a lacking experience.

This is perfectly nice food. But its a very long way from Michelen star, I honestly dont know how they got it. Were it a regular restaurant, this is a 4/5 . But at this price and the claimed reputation, its a 2 / 5. My tomato rice was warm but bland. The chicken fine, but not particularly succulent and the flavours flat and singular. My local Indian takeaway in Cascais, Portugal is better TBH. Which is a shame as I really wanted to love this place.

I ve dined at over 20 Michelin starred restaurants and this one is the worst of them. Food was served while I was away to the washroom. The only drinks We ordered was one sparkling water and one distilled and they could still the mistake by giving us only distilled water. The presentation of dishes was dull and the taste was lack of excitement. However, £50-60 for lunch is rather cheap for the whole package.

Our first Indian experience. We didnt really know what to expect. Had an aperitif upon entering the bar. This was prepared correctly. We got a quiet table for 2 of our choice. The wall had some splashes, it needs to be cleaned sometimes. We were given a choice of 3 menus. Only seafood, mix, veggie. We chose the mixed menu. We got some dips but it was not very well explained how this all worked... . One by one they were tasty but very spicy. At the same time came a leaf soup, equally spicy. Then 3 more dishes with different components. Very tasty. The matching wines were also delicious! Great experience! Price quality really ok!

Myself and my partner dined at Quillon a few months back and I had forgotten to review but I have to say that this was one of the most disappointing meals Ive had in a restaurant. With starters that were bland and a curry which wasnt any better than you would find in your average Indian restaurant. The price tag of £170 for a basic meal with bad service meant I could only give it a 1 star. Maybe my expectations were high for a Michelin star restaurant but I was severely underwhelmed and over charged. Save your money and go get a ready meal, youll feel just as satisfied.

My visit to Quilon left me with mixed feelings. While the restaurant deviates from the typical Indian menu with its Goan-style offerings, it caters predominantly to seafood lovers. As someone less inclined towards seafood, the experience fell short of expectations. The prices, akin to Michelin standards, felt steep for what turned out to be a less-than-stellar overall experience. The portions were on the smaller side, and the service, particularly the wait for the bill, was notably average, having said that the lady who saw us off today and offered to put my childrens coats on them was extremely kind and is an asset to the restaurant. Despite some positive aspects like the lamb shank, the lack of a vibrant dining atmosphere leaves room for improvement. For those not enamoured with seafood or Goan cuisine, alternative options may offer a more satisfying Indian Michelin experience in London.

The food was quite good, as one would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. We got the seafood tasting menu and quite enjoyed the first few courses. However, Quilon missed the mark with everything else. The cocktails were average, the atmosphere wasn t ideal - with bright lighting and the music too loud to enjoy a quiet, relaxed meal. Most disappointing were the service and level of hospitality, which were certainly not up to the mark - despite the many staff members flitting around, we were not offered tea or coffee, were ignored for a long time after the dessert service, and generally did not feel like we were well taken care of. Disappointed with the overall experience despite enjoying the food.

My husband and I had mixed feelings about our visit to Quilon. We tried the Non-vegetarian tasting menu. On one had we loved the duck roast, the lamb curry and artichokes! Also thank you for the anniversary cake at the end. It was a sweet gesture which we really appreciated. On the other hand, I was not impressed with the service and overall experience due to following three points: 1) My duck roast had two mustard dips while my husband s duck roast came with one mustard and other green chutney dip. 2) the glasses in which we were served rasam were not clean. We had to wipe the glass base in order to be able to hold the drink without getting our hands dirty. The server also didn t explain us what she brought. After looking at our confused faces she just asked it s Rasam , you know what it is right? 3) I had a hair on the bottom of my red velvet cake! See attached photos. The manager was very kind. He apologized and waived off 20 pounds from the total bill to compensate. We had come to Quilon expecting much better quality. Due to this experience, we ve been offered a 25% discount voucher for next dining experience but I m not sure if I wanna go back! Will definitely edit my review in case we go back.

Eating at Quilon is sheer unalloyed pleasure. The food is a treat for the tastebuds. The ambience is relaxed and transports you to a household in the ancient kingdom of Quilon in Southern India. The staff are friendly but professional, with nothing seemingly a problem; not even an ultra mischievous 5 year old and her clumsy Dad! Vijay, who served us was affable, attentive and a paragon of patience. Chef Sriram and his team are magicians in the kitchen and the long standing association with the Michelin star is of course fully deserved. Would recommend very strongly and go again and again.

Restaurant: Great ambience, clean toilets. Service: exceptionally good service. Food: portions are small for the price. The complimentary papad and rasam were really good and adds that surprise package to what restaurant has to offer. Starters: mini masala Dosa was good. It was just decent Dosa. Sambar was not great. Very mild and could have been little spicy. Southern saat was exceptional. Broccoli and spinach gallette was slightly oily but tasted really good. Main: Tava parathas were really good with lots of layers. Mango curry is a must have. As a south Indian myself, I must say this is the must have in this restaurant. Cottage cheese and colored peppers was decent. I was particularly disappointed with the use of basmati rice in both tomato and lemon rice given that south Indian rice recipes do not call for flavoured rice. Lemon rice very tangy. Tomato rice was much better with flavours balanced. Drinks: we tried multiple drinks qojito and frozen mango margarita. Both drinks failed to capture any essence of south India for me. But they were decent nevertheless. Dessert: We had room for very less dessert so we ordered only one baked yoghurt. It was so good that we ended up ordering another one. It comes with three flavours: mango, lychee and jaggery. Jaggery one is ultimate. Overall the food is really good though the portions could have been better for the premium price. Vegetarian options: Separate menu section for vegetarian varieties.

We were greeted well, with the waitress taking our coats and showing us to our reserved table. My family and I got the vegetarian taster menu and a few cocktails. The food is very low risk with basic tastes. Hardly any spice and even dishes where you may feel they could make it more sour or add a tangy kick it never came. The cocktail was not very strong either. Service was friendly and explained the dishes but were not very attentive in refilling water. One star Quilon Good Indian food, I ordered the non-vegetarian Tasting Menu ~ There are three appetizer sauces on the right in the picture 1, the one on top is lemon peel , super sour! The one down there is extremely spicy! Thanks to my favorite Mango Lassi for coming to the rescue [laughing] The first dish is just right. The green one on the right is broccoli pancake with plum sauce, and the crab cake in the middle. Needless to say, the dark red one on the left is beet pancake with fried skin. Its crispy, but actually soft and glutinous when you bite it. Its served with mango sauce, which is sweet and sour. My favorite is Lemon Sole . The fish fillet in the third picture is green because it has been marinated in a sauce containing a lot of coriander. The fish was made, soaked in spices, and then fried, and then took a bite of the Thousand-Floor Pancake. The waiter even asked me jokingly if I wanted another piece of fish [face covering] followed by a cup of tomato soup with a lot of spices added in it. After drinking this glass of poisonous wine the main course is neither praise nor criticism, but it is amazing, curry chicken breast, garlic fried asparagus and snow peas, lamb fried fragrant rice, the white one is a yogurt sauce sprinkled with a few pomegranates and diced mango; Pre- The desert is passion fruit blackberry mousse, and the dessert is pistachio cake and ice cream, which is nothing special. Finally, the dinner ends with a pot of Darjeeling tea

In a nutshell , Michelin service with a standard curry . The three of us went last night to celebrate a birthday , i wanted a taster menu (£110 per person) but the waiter said we all had to order tasters or its a la carte for us all , it made no sense at all . so we opted a la carte . I have to say the food was super average , we live in North London and the standard and quality of Indian food is at its highest level with mounting fierce competition all around us the taste of good Indian food is really high in this region. So in comparison we ended up paying alot lot more (£279.00) just for the bells and whistles. We booked this place as it was a Micheline star but im sorry the food did not match the status . But the level of service was top notch .

Overpriced. Was not blown away for this extortionate price. Was a bit deceived by the waiter when only 2 of us wanted starters and he said he would share it over 4 plates but we were instead charged for 4 starters costing more than the main courses! Nice ambiance and friendly service for my mothers birthday celebration, but the food was definitely not worth the money. Found the signature quilon fish curry pretty bland unfortunately and the lobster was over salted. The prawn curry was one ok dish, being quite flavorful. As we are a family with South Indian origins, we were expecting a lot from this Michelin starred restaurant and were quite disappointed. I would not consider dining here again since there are so many more reasonably priced options that are much tastier!

While we have been here several times in the past, we visited a few weeks ago to relish their seasonal Onam Sadhya. As always, excellent atmosphere and the signature Taj service marked a great experience overall. The sadhya (traditional kerala assortment menu) was served in a carefully curated setting (rasam served in a goblet, dosa folded in to a starter, mattu karuppan boiled rice served as coconut rice etc). The rasam was from out of the world!! I had nearly 6 servings and still couldn t get enough! The rest of the items were well prepared and carefully chosen to provide a great experience. If one thing they will need to get better at (only marginal room for improvement) is work on the authenticity of some of the main course dishes as felt they were slightly adapted to widen the target audiences. Remember, we never temper with the grand mother s dish. As they say in Italy, do what you want, but, don t change the tortellini s. Else apart, a great experience and their Onam special menu is fabulous. Will certainly get back for the next season. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options Kid-friendliness: They were warm as ever and welcomed my four year old and provided a well placed table to ensure guests without kids didn t have to experience kids right beside.

The staff are very courteous, the service is great. The ambience is good too. We were let down though by the vegetarian food. Firstly there are hardly 1 or 2 vegetarian starters and very limited choice on the main course too. Both the vegetarian dishes we ordered were pretty ordinary. They lacked the quality and taste. Not a standard that we expected from a Michelin Star restaurant. It was disappointing. However, there are plenty of non-vegetarian options and the food ordered was liked better. On providing the feedback at the time of dining, one of the key members of staff apologised and removed the vegetarian food charges completely. It was a very appreciative gesture. Not many restaurants do that. Also as it was nice of them to offer a celebratory gesture as it was a special occasion for us. I appreciate the restaurant reaching out to me again asking for a detailed feedback and they have apologised again mentioning that they are taking the feedback very seriously and will act on it. Its okish, for the main course did not stand out for me personally. I had higher expectations considering its awarded a Michelen Star. So essentially the exam question is Is it worth the premium price you pay?

The scallion pancakes are delicious. You can refill them for free after eating. Everything is delicious. The tea is delicious.

Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in London. Quilon and Amaya are my favourites in town. Better than Chutney Mary or Veeraswamy and much better than the likes of the overhyped Dishoom etc.

Delicious food. Complex flavors perfectly executed. Pricing is alright for this level of cuisine. Just the service was not so great, but saved by the great variety and quality of dishes

Hooray for a quiet ambience, so rare in todays London. Food is beyond excellent, lovely blends of spices and succulent lamb, chicken, and fish. Staff friendly and efficient. Cant wait to go again.

Good address offering recipes from South-West India whose specificity is seafood/fish. Not my favorite Indian restaurant but its a change from Butter Chicken.

We booked Quilon for our sons birthday lunch. We were told that the menu would be a set menu but we were not disappointed. The service was top class and the food spread was quite good. The affair was mostly South Indian and tasted authentic. Giving 4 stars for the atmosphere as I expected a bit more from a Michelin Star restaurant, but the food and service were top notch and hence 5 stars for them.

Excellent food. Different menu to regular Indian restaurants in London. Staff are very attentive and suggest flexible tasting menus. A lot of vegetarian options as well. Good selection of drinks. Nice ambience - not at all noisy. Great for a catch-up with friends/colleagues Vegetarian options: Lot of choice

I highly recommend that people do not go here. The food was pleasant enough however the restaurant rips people of then lies to them. I am OK paying top prices for good food and service however they charged me £130 for 2 beers. Yes 2 beers. Thought I was paying £13 (£6.5 each). They then, in writing, after I questioned this outrageous day light robbery, told me how exclusive the beer was - Blah - Blah. I then showed them that I can buy it online for £5.50. Exclusive...hmmm! Now, Im ok paying £15/ beer as its a nice ambience etc. but £65. Honestly, this is outrageous. They have lost my companys business and also my clients business for the foreseeable future until this is rectified Quilon - penny wise, pound foolish DO NOT GO - If I could make this a ZERO star I would

It is evident that the quality of the raw materials is excellent, as is the friendly treatment of all the staff and the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant. However, the waiter recommended a menu that for our taste was very spicy and a lot of food.

While visiting London for Thanksgiving, we came here after a great meal six years ago. Today s meal was very disappointing. We were seated at too large a table for the group so it was difficult to share dishes with each other, some dishes were only lukewarm, staff rushed us through the meal, small portions for the prices, some dishes just were not tasty and presentation was uninspiring, staff were cleaning up while we were still eating. Not worthy of its Michelin star. Would not come here again.

Very much just ok indian food. Came here beacuse they hold a michelin star, very expensive for what it is. The restaurant is at the Taj hotel. Very nice.

Very bad approach. Please dont go in there with normal dress and style they wont mind. They only even talk with people with high standards.

This was our first time eating South Indian cuisine so the waiter guided us on what to order. Every dish was flavorful, original and delicious. What surprised us is how light we felt at the end of the meal. Usually we feel really heavy after eating Indian currys. In contrast the South Indian cuisine made us feel full but light. Instead of cream and ghee they use spices and coconut milk so the food is easier to digest. The staff were on point; friendly and accommodating, attentive but not intrusive. It might seem a bit expensive but the prices are appropriate for the high level of service and quality of the food. There is also no tipping so the prices are reflective of the entire experience. Thank you Quilon, we loved our evening with you!

High end innovative and unusual Indian cuisine. Staff is very courteous and friendly, the atmosphere is elegant, and the food very good. We tried the sampler and had a very good experience. The prawns were excellent and the baked bass was super. Overall a great memorable, evening. Vegetarian options: Veg options are available and they also recommend dishes worth trying.

One of a kind experience. Known for coastal south Indian food Kerala and goan style. The food and the drinks were up to the class. We went in with chefs recommendation. Both veg and non-veg starters tasted delicious.
