9a Irving St, London WC2H 7AH, United Kingdom
Warm, energetic eatery serving Italian & Sicilian favourites alongside beer, wine & cocktails.
We visited this restaurant on September 7th, and the service was far from pleasant. We noticed that this restaurant is affiliated with the meat restaurant next to it, so the waiters were moving between both restaurants. There are no kitchen, bar, or toilets in this restaurant. If you need any of these, you have to go to the other restaurant next to it. Unfortunately, our table was forgotten for most of the time we were there, as the waiters were busy talking amongst themselves in the meat restaurant. The food was very average, nothing special. I would not recommend it.
Vespa is one of two restaurants that share a menu, and my family and I stopped in for dinner. Two of us ordered the Margherita Pizza which was very basic. The crust is good and crispy, the tomato sauce has limited flavor and the cheese was fresh. My partner ordered the Penne Arabiata, and enjoyed the spicy meal. Two others ordered pasta dishes and felt the sauces were very basic. Overall, good Italian food, not great.
Have to say I was a little disappointed. The reviews looked great. We had carbonara lasagne and cheesy garlic bread. The lasagne was over done with solid/burnt bits of pasta( the sauce as nice though. The carbonara was like scrambled egg pasta, the sauce should be creamy ( I know with no cream) not like pasta through scrambled eggs. The cheesy garlic bread should have been ace! The dough was lovely and loads of cheese but it had been drowned in olive oil so it was absolutely dripping. The staff were great though and their beer was nice.... just a bit disappointed with the food
Reservations are recommended during peak times and holidays. Ambience was good, food options were good, since we were vegetarians upon request they agreed to serve us pesto pasta (it was not in the menu). Spicy level was bit low for us but they had salt and pepper bottles on every table, which can makeup the spicy level. The quality and quantity of food was good for the price. Recommended for vegetarian food (since I have tasted only vegetarian).
So we came tonight at 1930 for a anniversary meal, we arrived at 1920 and were seated straight away with a choice of indoors or outdoors, we chose outdoors as it was a lovely evening. A server immediately offered us water and a drinks menu and it was ice cold and clean glasses all round. We ordered food and drinks almost immediately as we had prechecked the menu. The drinks we ordered was delivered really quickly certainly within five minutes and we're to the standard expected. The starters were served within 10 minutes and they were delicious! We had bruschetta and garlic bread and it was fresh hot and delicious, it had a real Mediterranean feel and tasted like it had been prepared immediately for serving. The mains we ordered were spaghetti carbonara and tagliatelle Bolognese and they were exquisite. Fresh pasta used in both, sauces were the finest examples I could find this side of the Chanel and the flavours were balanced wonderfully. The servers were very attentive and it felt like a really personal experience, the only thing I could add which would give it 5 stars all round would be some music but arguably the overall atmosphere of Leicester Square provides a great back drop. I fully recommend a visit if you want a authentic Italian experience in London.
Great little place right near Leicester sq. Loved the meatballs ,pasta and pizza. Great customer service at this place, very friendly vibe. Nice touch with the Vespa outside the restaurant and decor indoors is equally good. Very easy to get to, perfect for pre-theatre, allow yourself 2 hours and let them know you have a show to go to and you will be well looked after !!
Nice restaurant in the center of London. You are welcomed by kind and friendly staff. Nice authentic Italian atmosphere. Delicious dishes, following the original Italian recipes. good value for money. It is worth a try.
Staff were super nice and friendly. The place is so dog friendly that dogs were served water before we even placed our order. Food was delicious. Great atmosphere in general. Highly recommended
We loved it here. We ordered the Buffala Pizza and Carbonara pasta, and both were great. Staff were really nice and made the atmosphere even better. Great value for your money! :) Vegetarian options: Has vegetarian options and the possibility of making it vegan
Lovely people, and excellent food. You have to try.
Honestly pretty mid pizza especially for the price. It wasn t very soft or nearly as tasty as I expected. Rudy s pizza in London is simply loads better.
We ordered 3 different pastas, they all did n taste good at all
best restaurant
Great restaurant ! Me and my wife love it here !! Great food , great service always . Thanks
Food and service was great! Prices reasonable. Food : 5/5
Good restaurant
Food was bang on
A simple Italian restaurant with readonable menu at affordable prices. Not the Ritz but nothing to complain about
Touris trap, no else to explain
Pizza was OK. Drink bottle was dirty, toilet too, no paper. Would invest more energy in hygiene than in customer acquisition
We were there as a group of 3 people and still had a wait of 40 minutes. The cheese on the pizza was also too greasy and everything was generally overpriced.
Delicious food and friendly helpful staff.
Great family run italian restaurant !! Good food and price for the area Kid-friendliness: Gave my little one a high chair and made him laugh always going the extra mile Food : 5/5 |
Nice Italian restaurant
good vibe and great discount on the Folk!
I ate better here than in Italy
Do yourself a favor and get some food at Vespa. We tried a variety of pastas and one of their pizzas, and everything was cooked to perfection and made with fresh ingredients. The flavors were incredible and the service and atmosphere were good. I would 100% eat here again.
Another find on the Fork app offering 50% off the food menu. Vespa is nestled between two larger Italian restaurants, and opposite another on the edge of Leicester Square. It is definitely going for the authentic and slightly rustic feel. The menu was basic but good quality. The lasagne and the ravioli were our choice and both were delicious. Very speedy service. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Overall the experience was good, although it didn t raise the roof. I d almost suggest cheap and cheerful. Ideal for pre-theatre.
Lasagne was clearly microwaved, the insides of the lasagne was cold but the outside was piping hard. Came back home with an upset tummy- so would not return again
Very mixed review. I wanted seafood Pasta and it wasnt available so I opted for prawn linguini which I had to send back because it wasnt seasoned. My partner had spinach ravioli which was nice. Our order took over 30 minutes to arrive because the printer in the kitchen broke down and the order didnt make it to the chef. No apology, discount or complimentary drinks offered for the delays or poor quality dish.
Glutenfree pasta ! Chef style Food
A great toilet, it was great to shit, the pizza was also great, I highly recommend it
A place in London where you can find real Italian flavors. You should definitely try their pizzas.
Particular and always a guarantee for good food!
Charged us twice and refused to refund. Endless emails and no response. Check your receipt before leaving the restaurant., youve been warned.
The food is very meh .. Had the bruschetta to start and the bread was pretty much inedible. The mains came where I got my second choice (they had no carbonara or lasagna) and they were just pretty rubbish. No real taste to the pasta and the pizza tasted like it was made from bread dough. The tomato sauce was bland. We had the pre theatre menu as the prices for the pasta was ridiculous at around £19. The girl serving us was nice and did strike my meal from the bill but it really wasn t great.
Pre theatre meal here for my daughters 16th birthday. Very well looked after, great food, reasonably priced. Would definitely return.
We were a slightly larger group who were there. The wait was extremely long for what we got. The pizzas were very small. The waitress said that you could easily order this for two people and both of them would be full. In the end, not even one person got tired of it. Many things were forgotten or done incorrectly. The food wasnt particularly tasty either and tasted more like water. In the end we got ice cream for the long wait, which was on the house. The service was okay.
Unfortunately you cant give zero stars. We were in a group of 14 people. The meal took over an hour. When asked, the portions were enough for 2 people. However, a simple pizza is far too expensive and far too small for just one person and tastes like cardboard with tomatoes. The one star is for the toilet, which was very nice. Our orders were also mixed up, e.g. Gultenfrei was forgotten and had to be remade and dishes were booked twice or incorrectly. Apparently the staff also noticed this and we got a little ice cream on the house. All in all, a bad and, above all, expensive visit. Too bad
Great kindness of service. Small but very delicious pizzas
Freshest delicious ingredients on the pizza . I highly recommend for lunch and dinner.
Food is ok, the owner is cringe.
Good food and very nice service. They where very kind helping me to remove a stain in my shirt. Totally recomended!!!
Tourist trap
They were quick, they knew: we were in a hurry to get to the airport. We ate a wonderfully delicious thin crust pizza. The service is very polite! Anyway, everywhere! London, New York, L.A. Everyone smiles kindly. I really like this!
Love the restaurant. The food was great, not noisy at all.
Warm atmosphere, welcoming staff, and good quality Italian pasta. Wine was also nice. Recommended experience.
Everithynk ok super location , but what made our vacation was the service and caindenes of the blonde girl think her name was Greta top top person
Nice small Italian place. Very cosy and delicious pizza
we were deceived. They told us the menu price and then when it came time to charge us they charged us triple. United that the girl who told us the price then did not want to know anything about us and a basic and more than simple meal. I wouldnt recommend this restaurant if you dont want to pay a fortune for a more than basic meal. In London there are a lot of excellent restaurants and at more than good prices. Dont be fooled like we were.
An amazing little restaurant close to the theatres. Loved it. Would definitely recommend going there.
Lovely place .food was simple but delicious. The only disappointment was the 14.5% service charge on the bill .no problems paying service charge, but when the actual % is not printed against the service charge it feels a little sneaky. Be upfront with your customers the service was great and I am sure majority of people will accept and pay this charge.
Lovely brunette young lady on the door welcomed us in who was very kind - rest of the service was disappointing and I overheard a supervisor shouting at staff . Please treat your staff with respect
Over priced and under delivered. Small portions, below average food. Really dont understand the hype, would rather go elsewhere. Even Bella Italia would be more worthwhile.
The bolognese tagliatelle and spaghetti carbonara were excellent, portions were decent size as well. Our server was very attentive yet not hovering.
The food and service was excellent. The calzone was a great size and was delicious according to my son! We all loved it. Stuffed doughballs were unique and amazing. Food
Real Italian
We had 5 people eating and they put us at a small table for 4, and the plates barely had room. The flavor of the food is not bad, but the quantity was poor. The price is very expensive for what it is.
Food was good but portion was very small, specially my pasta. My husband order arrived when I finished mine...very disappointed for our date night!
Look for Julio Caesar , he served us very well while we were in UK, we even went back twice. 10 stars for Julio..
Too bad the pasta wasnt al dente, the sauce was very good. Very friendly and helpful staff. Heated environment also outside.
We came to this restaurant because it was open till late on Christmas day and we really wanted Italian food. So our options were very limited. The food was just okay, service was slow but people were good. The place was cozy, but our table in particular was not too comfy.
Very good true Italian experience in the middle on London. We tried the lasagne and the chicken and both were very well tasty and portions were also generous Cannoli was great also, nothing to envy to those we ate in Sicily If you want a true Italian experience, come here.
Amazing food and good ambience Vegetarian options: Good options Food : 5/5 |
Good Italian cuisine, fresh homemade pasta.
We had Quattro formaggi and Penne Arabiatta. The pizza was the best I have ever taste and the pasta as well, but the portion of the pasta was a bit small than expected. The stuff is great, especially Martina was helpful from beginning to end.
We had lunch, on a lovely sunny day, at this perfect, independent and beautiful restaurant! The drinks and the antipasti are to die for, especially the burrata, and the service from the staff was very dedicated and kind! I recommend highly for a lovely meal!
Went here before theatre. Great vibe, friendly and caring staff, comfort food made with love. The restaurant itself was clean, and the decoration set the scene and made it inviting. Im definitely returning here.
Had spagetti cabonara and all the arrabbiata. By far one of the best noodles Ive eaten recently. Highly recommended!
Loved it,fantastic food
best italian i hv ever had
Very very friendly, everything was really good...its a shame the holiday didnt last long but we will definitely be back...
finally an Italian restaurant without Alfredo pasta!
Good food, nice staff. Often full, so make sure to book a table.
Food was amazing with outstanding service. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Strongly recommend for a gorgeous Italian meal.
An absolute gem! The restaurants warm ambiance, friendly staff, and mouthwatering dishes left us in awe. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and the presentation was impeccable. A must-visit for any food lover!
Had a wonderful meal there. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Cute little place. I will definitely be going back. Vegetarian options: I had Bruchetta for the start and 4 cheese pizza for main. Dietary restrictions: All I know is that they definitely do vegetarian. I believe but dont quote me, that they do gluten free
Phenomenal atmosphere. Food was equally fantastic. Highly recommend.
Vegetarian options: Should offer Halal meat Food
Went here today with my teenage daughter for a late lunch, what a little gem of a restaurant. Nice staff, brilliant decor and generally a good vibe. Prices pretty good for central London too. The food was amazing my daughter had the tagatelle bolognaise and she loved it, my Lasagna was the best I can remember ever having. We WILL be back on future trips to London.
We dine in here last wednesday. We were meant to go to other italian restaurant however this young lady from vespa proactively approached us in a friendly manner. She didnt force us or anything. She just offered assistance and guess what. We ended up here for our dinner. Food is so tasty and authentic. It looks few on pictures specially the pasta but im telling you its a lot. (For me). Aside from the food. The service and ambience is really great. Family friendly should i say. Thank you vespa!
Nice place to be ! The service is gentle, the atmosphere is good. I took a pizza, which was very correct. The dough was well made, the cheese tasty ! But what a disappointment for the carbonara ! The egg yolks have been cooked due to overheating, which led to an omelette rather than a creamy cheese sauce. But dont fear this restaurant for that. They have the correct recipe for the carbonara (without cream and use of guanciale). Good cannoli for dessert. You can go there for a correct lunch.
The food was not what i expected the chicken was dried and very little sauce and the potatoes wedge was burn and just a few potatoes. I give it 3* waitress not very friendly a bit disappointed with the food.
Super friendly and nice waiters and staff, excellent value for money. It feels like being in Italy Super approved Perfect for Italians on holiday looking for a place to feel at home. Languages spoken: Italian-English
Very friendly, welcoming staff, great food and a lovely atmosphere!
Rating very much affected by the seafood to pasta ratio in the Linguine allo scoglio which i had. A Lot of pasta and maybe 2 large and 6 small clams, 2 shrimps and 1 miniscule peace of squid Also this was not a cheap menuitem. Food
Amazing Italian food. Fresh pasta, great service and the Aperol spritz was damn good. And my wife said they have the best tiramisu she has ever had. And she knows tiramisu.
Excellent quality food, served very attentively. The best prices on the block
Pizza was nice. Staff were rude. Music was way too loud and didnt fit theme of the restaurant
Great food and excellent service
Good food, reasonably priced, the staff were welcoming and friendly. Its an independent Italian restaurant which is always nice to find. Music very loud even though they turned the volume down for us
pretty good cooking! but service not great Vegetarian options: some dishes are vegetarian
Very nice I like the vibe and the decor, food is lovely. Great restaurant Kid-friendliness: Waiters are kind and helpful to all customers including children Food : 5/5 |
Very good food for the price
Lovely place, food and atmosphere, next to the National Gallery, great!!
Great staff especially Mauricio
Thank you so much for making my birthday meal sepical
A corner of Italy in London! Highly recommended
The atmosphere is good, and they came to eat for good reviews and really wanted to eat. But they brought a very salty pizza, it was impossible to eat (very upset and angry)
Very nice place, excellent service and excellent quality food. True Italian cuisine!!!!
I had a lovely meal at Vespa. Tucked away amid busy chains, it was the only place in London where we were received with smiles and a welcoming service. The food was excellent and delivered with excellent service. Highly recommended.
I went to the restaurant today and a amazing host took great care of us. She was very kind and was always kin to help. So a great thank you to Paula. Food : 5/5
Nice. Tasty
Paula is charming, has excellent treatment and is super attentive. The very delicious pizzas and the tasty spaghetti bolognese from the childrens menu
Paula, very nice and charming, we felt at home. 100% recommended
Very good place to eat, they have a girl called Paula, welcoming people, super nice, the girl speaks perfect Spanish and if you are like me, very bad at English, she helps you with the menu, recommends what to order, etc... all places should have a person like Paula working. And with respect to the food, everything was very delicious, a 10, totally recommended. Kid-friendliness: They have childrens menus
Italian restaurant very close to Leicester Square. We had pasta bolognese for dinner and some delicious pizzas. Special mention for Paula, a charming girl who welcomed us and helped us with whatever we needed at all times. Thank you Paula and good luck
I was very well received by Paula. She is very friendly. Speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese. I ordered a margherita pizza and an American drink. The food and drink were amazing!! Congratulations to the entire team at this charming Italian restaurant. I will definitely be back!
The food, service, and atmosphere in the shop are great I thank the employee at the reception for her good behavior I highly recommend the restaurant
Good food, fair price and awesome staff. Real Italian.
Very good Italian dishes and a waitress, Paula, at the top. I highly recommend
Came to London with my family for a day out. This was the perfect place for dinner! Food was amazing, service was exceptional really helped make the day special! Thank you to all the staff involved in our familys visit. Kid-friendliness: Really friendly, lovely people!
Update (Aug 23) 2 Star What a fall. I m really saddened by the massive deterioration of quality at Vespa. Pizza overly acidic, no seasoning, cheap cheese. Pasta overcooked, bland, average. Service was good but the food and wine standards have fallen off the charts. What happened to this place? Original (Sep 22) 4 Star Luigi (The gentleman waiter) made us feel like we were back in Rome. We ordered spaghetti carbonara and pasta amatriciana (off-menu, prepared at my request) and both were absolutely splendid. Great value, great service, amazing quality. We will be coming back often.
It is one of the best Italian restaurants I have eaten in my life, very authentic and really nice atmosphere. The waiter Alfi was super nice and lovely. as well as the manager. To sum up, go to the Vespa!! Wheelchair accessibility: Is accessible
Delicious food, ate the ravioli the best I ate in London! Amazing and kind staff, our waiter name was Alfie and he was super kind and helped us with everything! Highly recommend!!!!
It should be mentioned that the food was more than exquisite, and the best thing was Paulas attention, who helped us a lot when choosing the best Italian food we have tried in London. Excellent host, very grateful for her attention and kindness.
Excellent food, extremely professional and friendly, fair price. I recommend it to everyone and not just Italians.
Every time we go to London, whether for work or on holiday, we never miss the opportunity to come to you for lunch, dinner or just for an aperitif. That Maurizio then, a master, very good, an enchantment. He was able to make us drink 5 types of wines of different ethnicities. We went away singing Maurizio, Maurizio. I recommend it to all Italians
Everything was delicious, every bite took me home more and more Friendly staff and all-Italian charisma!
A real discovery in the center of London. First, Paulas attention was wonderful, explaining the letter with passion and professionalism. Then the attention of the rest of the team, always attentive. The delicious food. Pizza and pasta with very natural, very authentic ingredients. Finally the price, very very tight for London. A complete success and highly recommended.
Worst pizza my partner and I ever had. Just a dollop of tomato sauce with cheese and ham sliding all over. Quattro formaggi was just a stodgy base with a layer of what appeared and tasted like processed cheese on top. When we said the food was poor and requested the service charge removed from the bill we were pretty much met with silence and apathy, no apology, no attempt to make amends. Were pretty easily pleased with a pizza too so we definitely arent difficult customers. Id avoid this place.
Very good food and very friendly staff, especially the waitress Paula!
Wonderful experience, fabulous food and above all the attention of Paula, who received us in an extraordinary way and in a very friendly way. Congratulations for the essence that the result projects and for having a staff that gave us such an extraordinary moment... we will return without hesitation
Amazing!!!!
Horrible manager. There was a miscommunication with a new waiter about the quantity of the pre-theatre menu option (1 specified main + 1 specified starter for £17.90). We were told that the quantities would be the same as if we ordered a la carte. Then the quantity was less when the starter came. The second waiter apologised, however the manager then came and tried to explain, but just ended up arguing with us instead, including talking over us, ignoring us and shouting, to the extent we felt we had no choice but to leave. People at the entrance were very good, but have no say inside. We donated 20 pounds extra cash for him to shut up and just let us go. The 4.2 rating is extremely undeserved. They might have been good in the past, but the manager doesn t listen to his own staff and does not respect the decisions they make. Please go to any other Italian on the street and you will not be disappointed like this.
This was my first time at the restaurant. The food itself is acceptable but by no means remarkable as Italian restaurants go. Despite the distinctly average food, the venue is cute and the staff are absolutely lovely! Alfie was our waiter and went out of his way to converse with us, remembered our names and was found common ground to connect. He was really lovely as were all the staff. The lovely vibe offset the food quality to make it an overall pleasant visit.
Very beautiful little restaurant, excellent food and impeccable service especially thanks to the waiter Alfie who is just an incredible person. ALFIE MY GATE Jimmy and Jessica from France
Food and service was excellent, thanks Alfie for perfect service
Delicious authentic Italian dishes accompanied by great customer service!
The 62 host Alfie was such a friendly face to welcome us in. He clearly takes care of his appearance and would not look out of place in the england rugby team. The food was lovely with a good selection. Thilley (our server) made sure we were well catered for. We were sat outside at a quiet time so the atmosphere was a tad flat but you can tell that a few more tables would bring it up. Couldnt recommend more, will return on the next london trip
Have to say I was happily surprised when I came for dinner with my wife. Our host Alfie was unbelievable, he spoke to me in my native tongue and even made my wife laugh which is not easy to do. Hope people take a chance on this place on a road full of Italian restaurants, will be returning when I come back to England.
From Alfie welcoming us in, to the delicious risotto, Vespas was a great place to stop for a meal. I picked it based on the menu and on Alfies friendliness as I walked along looking at the menus from multiple restaurants. The family sitting next to me was from Italy. They were quite pleased with the food!
very good food and Paula, a very open and cheerful girl who helped us choose the food
Came in with no reservation for a table of 7 - the staff were incredible - my daughter (8) who was getting tired from a long day was being fussy and the staff couldn t do enough to accommodate her food requests - not something you would get from a food chain. The food was phenomenal , priced really well and the decor was fab and quirky. Would definitely go again
Paulas attention was spectacular, very kind to us and the little ones. Very delicious pizzas, we will definitely recommend. Kid-friendliness: Very attentive, they left them some paintings and my daughters drawing of the whale stayed in the restaurant as a souvenir.
Great service in particular my waiter Alfie. Pizza great! Would recommend
Excellent service (michele, the waiter, is very polite and knows how to take care of a costumer) Very good food and atmosphere, the music is a plus Food
Fresh back from a week in Italy, the food here is authentically delicious. Highly recommended.
I came there at Christmas 2022, it was a real pleasure. This evening its just as pleasant with a little extra, Paola at the service, who speaks French, which helps when you have poor English or Italian like me. I recommend everything...
Excellent ITALIAN cuisine, everything very good and very friendly guys. I recommend without any doubt
After two days of McDonalds and various fast food outlets, finding a reliable restaurant that serves Italian food was a mirage. The Italian waiters who welcomed us were very kind and didnt let us miss anything. Highly recommended, I will definitely return if I have the chance.
The waitress, the slightly smaller girl Paula, was very personable, you could talk to her really well and she knows how to talk to the guests.
Very nice places, one of the best restaurants among the Italian restaurants nearby.
So very good and plaisant !!
Excellent food like in Italy Excellent service Abundant dishes
I wish there was a zero star option. Awful service, waitress managed to knock over my wine onto my 11 Yr old lap, so we had to buy him something else to wear (not good having a child who stinks of booze) I ordered gluten free carbonara which I sent back once as pasta was undercooked, only to be brought another bowl of undercooked pasta....when I complained again, she spoke as if I were an idiot say we cook our pasta Al Dente and slower Al Dente To which I responded yes I know what Al Dente is, but this is more than that, its really not that difficult and dont talk to me like Im an idiot, I cook better than this at home Thats the thing, when you are paying all that money but know you can do a better job at home for next to nothing! I told her I was only prepared to pay for 1 mea and drinksl (because my son ate all his) and the other 3 dinners werent going to be paid for. She then tried to charge me for a drink my son hadnt ordered, after saying shed take it off the bill....and then said Ive taken the service charge off for you too I should bloody hope so!!!!!
Delicious food and super helpful staff
This is not the prettiest place on the block but the food is fabulous. A hidden gem amongst a bunch of Italian restaurants. The food was freshly made!
Excellent service and friendliness of the staff. Very correct food at a fair price.
Simple but good dishes, which take you back to Italy for an evening
A simply delicious place!! Looks the simplest but the food is just wow!! We followed the proverbs here on Google and were not disappointed at all Very highly recommended!!
On my first day in London, I just went to the place I saw. Giant pizza is delicious haha
The food was delicious. The place is small, and the music was very loud. Very friendly staff.
Mikele was very friendly and the food was great.
Italian food, we ordered a variety of dishes and everything was delicious!
It doesnt deserve this score. 24pounds for a burnt-edged, ordinary-tasting pizza and a peroni. If you dont have any expectations for taste, you can go there.
The food was delicious and was served in a short time. Service was great as well. Would recommend.
Lovely evening, food was top class and atmosphere was everything you could hope for.
Brilliant little Italian, well priced and fantastic food, all staff exceptional and cant do enough for you. Cant fault this place at all, will definitely be back. Kid-friendliness: All staff made a massive effort with our little girl for her fourth birthday, made her feel like a princess!
The food is great! The service is the best Ive ever had!
One of the pizzerias in London. Highly recommended.
A lovely little restaurant. Food was very tasty and the service was great.
High quality fresh ingredients. linguini with very fresh fish and ravioli, both well prepared. even a simple scoop of ice cream seems home made. Friendly staff.
Great food and service! Especially a big THANK YOU for a Birthday present! Food
All in all ok, pizza a bit chewy, and a bit pricey for what it was.
Great atmosphere and food in ideal location
Very friendly staff and great food. Not a chain, so they really make authentic Italian food
Highly recommend! Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and of course delicious authentic Italian food! Perfect location for dinner before a musical/theatre.
The staff are extremely helpful, but the food didn t match. My main course had to go back, although I can recommend the bruschetta. As one of my party said it s a Leicester Square what do you expect??
Excellent experience!! 10 out of five stars. Attentive yet relaxed service, authentic atmosphere, and as good as any meal we have had in Italy. The garlic bread was actually fresh pizza dough served piping hot straight from the oven - which sounds weird but was delicious! Lasagna was good, the Tagliatelle Funghi e Salsiccia was to die for!! And we enjoyed visiting with the personable owner - who is actually from Rome - about the food and the restaurant. Pleasantly surprised for Leicester Square. We highly recommend this place.
Title: A Delightful Italian Oasis in London My recent experience at VESPA Italian Restaurant was nothing short of delightful. From the moment I stepped in, the atmosphere of the building enveloped me in a warm embrace of authentic Italian charm. The strategic placement of lush plants and the artistic display of Vespa bikes on the walls created an ambiance that truly transported me to the heart of Italy. What truly set this establishment apart, however, was the staff. Their approach was not just professional; it was familial. The teams welcoming demeanor made me feel like more than just a customer I felt like part of an extended family. Their genuine hospitality added a personal touch to my dining experience, leaving a lasting positive impression. Moving on to the culinary aspect, the food was nothing short of impeccable. Every dish reflected a commitment to authenticity and was a testament to true Italian cooking. The attention to detail in the preparation of each meal was evident, and the flavors resonated with the true essence of Italian cuisine. Its rare to find such dedication to authenticity, and it truly elevated the dining experience. In conclusion, my visit to VESPA Italian Restaurant was a culinary journey through the heart of Italy, complemented by an atmosphere that embraced the authentic Italian feeling. The welcoming and attentive staff, combined with the impeccable food, makes this establishment a must-visit in London. Whether youre a connoisseur of Italian cuisine or simply seeking a memorable dining experience, VESPA Italian Restaurant has earned my personal recommendation for your next visit to London.
Ordinary. Overpriced for the quality of food offered. Will I come next time - NO.
A very cozy and amazing atmosphere, perfect served the waitress had an eye for every detail. The food was amazing. I ll recommend the place 10000% Dietary restrictions: They ask for every allergy s and are observant for everything
Nice little Italian restaurant with a bit of a 60s vibe. Food is excellent. But best of all is the service. The manager/owner of the restaurant is a true gentleman. My little girl was upset as she realised she had ordered the wrong thing and really wanted pasta not a pizza. When he saw she was upset he came over to check everything was ok. When we explained what had happend he offered to swap the meal for what she wanted. Thank-you for making our little girl happy.
this was a few weeks back. I am still shaken from this night. Not one thing went right that night.Me and my girlfriend, now ex, went out to Vespas italian restaurant. For starters, Empty restaurant in the middle of london???Just shut it at that point! Secondly, weird and somewhat creepy atmosphere, We noticed a few of the workers faking an Italian accent. we were also seated in a very uncomfortable seat by the bar, not having a single second of privacy. For the food we had a peppery, anemic and chundery carbonara which no one clearly enjoyed because others were seen returning their whole meal without even taking as much as a nibble. This was followed by a sloppy pizza - just not what you would expect from an Italian restaurant. I had to comfort my girlfriend for HOURS after this night, but sadly this night proved it too difficult for us too move on into the future as a couple :(.I would personally steer clear of Vespas. But i hope they have a good turnaround for the restaurant as the area was quite nice. Wheelchair accessibility: no. the seats are very high.
One of the worst Italian restaurants I have ever eaten in my life. Raw pizzas and very un-Italian dough. The pasta has no flavor. We also ordered beers and tap water and it took them half an hour to bring it.
I was with my family on vacation. We went for dinner, spectacular service, waiters and the owner were super friendly. The pizzas are very good. They speak Spanish. I recommend it 100%. When I return to London I will repeat.
One of the worst experiences Ive ever had in a restaurant. I booked for 2 adultsn 4 children. We showed on time, we were showed to a table at the back, then completely ignored. They served 3 other tables with people who arrived after us. I asked the guy if we can get some service. Nothing. We walked out. My only reasonable theory is they wanted to discourage so many children taking seats away from other guests (its a tiny place in an area with a lot of customers). Rude and offensive behaviour. The prices are also much higher than what they display on toptable. Avoid!!
This is a very subjective review, we found the menu limited for vegetarian dishes. Considering many restaurants we have been to of the same cuisine. Being busy they accommodated us a table and when we were cold we did get moved inside. We did have to ask for cutlery quite a few times, which should really be the first thing/basics. Vegetarian options: Limited options for vegetarian! Not sure about vegans!
