Good English breakfast

We stopped to eat at midday. The food wasnt bad but not exceptional! A packet of mayonnaise is out of date. The service is OK but we are refused to close the door even though it is cold in the restaurant. Even the waitress puts on her vest.

We shared a delicious burger, chips, and salad. We were able to sit outside and not get rained on. Very pleasant.

We chose the Afternoon Tea for two and it was great! Largely sufficient quantity and quality, it was very good, I recommend.

Well located, comfortable place with good views of the street. But the food is too expensive for what it offers. I ordered a traditional English cream tea and it came with a separate loaf of bread with butter, cream and jam for us to assemble on the spot.

The prices are unreasonably high, the food is tasteless, and the service is not the best. Stay with ukraine

The absolute worst food and worst service I ever experienced in London. I asked the server about the wing sauce and she told me I wouldnt know since I havent tried it. There were two servers and both of them had the most amazing attitudes I have ever experienced. They have a mandatory service charge because their service is so terrible they know that their staff would never be tipped. Horrible experience. ALL AMERICANS DO NOT SPEND YOUR AMERICAN DOLLARS HERE.

Kindly asked a member of staff if I could use the loo and she said yes, on my way out I got told off by another member of staff. Been here a few times on our visits and left a previous 5 star review which I have removed. Won t be coming back as a customer.

Was in mood for breakfast that is more elevated then a grab-and-go but not a full on heavy spread. Nice relaxed and intimate vibe. English breakfast options in addition to options like eggs Benedict, omelette, etc. Decently priced for the area. Nice to go to a non-chain restaurant.

The restaurant had a charming and cozy atmosphere, and the menu items sounded promising. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. The beetroot avocado salad was bland, tasteless and lacked flavor. The steak sandwich was excessively greasy, and the seafood paella was underwhelming in taste. The service was not bad.

We came in for an afternoon snack after several hours of sightseeing on a hot day. Unexpectedly, the food here was barely Mediterranean at all. The Med dishes ordered were mediocre/inauthentic at best; fish and chips were good but quite underseasoned. Comfortable cafe with nice bathroom. One waitress was nice and one was surly. Also quite expensive; I get that this is a popular tourist area but considering the quality of food, we hoped for better. The cakes at the back looked quite nice, but we were put off trying them. Kid-friendliness: Fine for kids; not sure if there was a kids menu but ours ordered off the regular menu.

Lovely cafe, generous cake portions, nice coffee and theyve provided a lot of phone charger ports for their customers. Well worth stopping by!

So awful. Started with chicken wings - you get 2. The menu does not specify that you only get 2 wings. And its £10!!!!! Got the pork ribs - supposed to be honey glazed - they were smothered in gravy. They were so dry and tasted like they had been cooked the day before and reheated that day. Friend had the steak salad - steak came out well-done - he wasnt asked how he wanted it.

Definitely not your typical Mediterranean restaurant. I would say not at all. We werent given any of the menus stated here and it ended up being rather pricy. More like £30 per person

Be careful when you pay! We split the bill and the waiter rushed the card reader in front of the face of the last person without saying clearly the price, he then overcharged us £10 in the end (i.e. on top of the service charge). When this was spotted he claimed it was just a harmless calculation error. Suspect this is a little tricky to bring in some extra money! Suspicious.

Nice cafe with friendly staff. There are sockets at every table where you can charge your cell phone. I had a fruit tart that was really top notch, although £7.50 is a bit excessive. But thats probably how it is in London.

Next to Trafalgar Squad you can have coffee and delicious cake. Opposite La Roche is the Duke of Yorks theatre, which gives it a significant air of talent. The meals they offer look phenomenal. Quiet atmosphere ideal to enjoy a coffee in London. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a small access ramp to the premises, so it is fully accessible.

Had the chicken ceaser salad that came with fried egg. Totally awesome meal!!!

Grottenschlechtes Essen zu überhöhten Preisen, das Fleisch meines Steaksandwiches war total ungenießbar und ich würde mich genieren, so etwas zu servieren geschweige denn Geld dafür zu verlangen. Das Fleisch des Burgers war ebenso ungenießbar und die Bedienung ist nicht freundlich, Ambiente auch mehr als fragwürdig, absolut keine Weiterempfehlung.

The lamb shank was 10/10 and the staff are lovely too. Definitely recommend:)

Not tasty

The Breakfast-in-a-burger was absolutely grande in every sense. It was tasty, huge, and reasonably priced! The name is a bit deceiving, it should probably be called the breakfast-and-lunch-in-a-burger!

Pleasant little eatery adjoining St Martin in the Fields. Good choice of Lebanese and Middle Eastern cuisine, especially the steak and avocado salad, pleasant atmosphere and very friendly service. Reasonably priced too considering its location.

Lots of variety of breakfasts and very delicious. The service is very friendly and they have a very good musical selection, I recommend it 100% Dietary restrictions: Normally after ordering they ask you if you have any allergies for precautionary measures, very friendly.

Service was terrible; the waitress was rude and clearly disgruntled that she had to work. She was the only one taking orders and serving food across the entire restaurant which perhaps understandably was the reason for her attitude but that s not the customers fault. The food was mediocre and basic. Coffee was burnt but watered down at the same time. Overall, not a good experience and wouldn t go back or recommend.

Staff very unfriendly. We were seated in a narrow corner and when we asked if we could take our own other table, which was also free, we got a rude answer: no, only this one. The manner of the waitresses continued until the end. Others were sent away because only 2 of the 4 people wanted to eat. Food was rather mediocre. We had breakfast, the egg was okay, the rest was more of a finished product. Not recommended for the price.

Hot choco was mediocre and customer service is POOR. I was enjoying my hot choco but then this waitress (white, lean, about 5 4 ) asked me to leave since they have reservations for dinner. It was 6 PM at that time. No sorry or anything. Didn t even bother to say it nicely.

Vastly overpriced. £9 for a cheap and nasty glass of wine. The vegetarian moussaka (£20) is just ratatouille - no potato, no bechamel sauce - Thats because its Lebanese, the waitress said. I would say, on the plus side, its clean - as we were eating, we were liberally sprayed with disinfectant as the waitress cleaned the table next to us.

We paid the equivalent of 60 for two beers and two really unspecial burgers without any side dishes. Yes, London is expensive per se, we know that, but thats an underground line for the price. Never again.

Excellent coffee, and very tasty pear crumble. Fresh double cream would elevate this dish rather than the squirty stuff. Service a bit slow to start but ladies serving me friendly and warm in their communication. I think Id like a second serving of that crumble!

Having visited in the Autumn I took my family back whilst in town for the theatre. Immediately we were rushed to order. Within 20mins of sitting down ,following snatching plates ,they presented a bill for £100.85. Food ordered x 3 burger and chips Small bottle of soda Cup of tea. Not funny. Sorry.

Great selection of food and drink, and delicious. Would have given the food 5, except they did forget the bacon on something on which it was included. Other than that, couldn t fault it. Relaxing atmosphere and very attentive and welcoming staff. Will visit again if ever in the area and need food.

£17 pounds for a burger with no sides. More when you factor in 12% service charge. The burger was like something I would have thrown together when I was 12 years old. Unbelievable.

Delicious food, warm and cozy atmosphere. I recommend the salmon with vegetables and grilled lamb. The desserts were also completely eaten)) Here you can make a donation in favor of Ukraine. I recommend it to everyone, even children (although there is no childrens menu, but there are soups, salads, sandwiches). The cafe is located near the central square of the city (Trafalgar Square), and after walking around and seeing enough local attractions, you can safely go here!

The waitress couldnt spare 10 seconds at the table and took a run back mentioning that the two burgers will come at different times for a table of 2! Okay food with an atrocious service charge. Go only if youre devoid of other options.

Just happened to stubble on this restaurant while walking around trying to find somewhere for breakfast and it turned out to be probably one of the best full English breakfast I have had, and the staff where very friendly, we will be coming here again on our next visit

Horrible experience, the waitress and the manager was pushing the costumers to drink and eat quickly to leave the place, to allow more costumers to came in, on the last week of February they opened the main door to make the costumers uncomfortable and to leave the place. Never ever again to this place, I really would prefer if they asked me to take way my food and drinks.

The food was overpriced undercooked or overcooked and awful. I ve spent the whole day in bed expelling the liquified mess that I ate. The pie had been microwaved so the pastry was soggy. The scones were rock hard. Cream was rancid and a teaspoon amount. If you eat here you risk your health.

The cake tastes very processed. They have food prices displayed clearly (one for eating in and one for eating out). However, I was charged more than the advertised price for eating in despite the fact that I was eating out. The price was totally made up, and given without explanation or even eye contact. Perhaps if I had a different skin tone or background I would get the privilege of paying the advertised price and getting the same warm welcome as other customers do. I wont be coming back again.

I asked for a table for one for breakfast today. The cafe was completely empty but for one table of two. She said fine , and pointed to a table near the road. I asked, politely, to sit near the back- she said, irritably I have bookings madam . I decided to go elsewhere, but, walking back an hour and a half later, of course the cafe was empty. She clearly just couldn t be bothered. Won t be coming here again.

Probably we were expecting a little too much from this restaurant, which - sitting as it is right at the heart of the Covent Garden entertainment area - is perhaps more focused on table turnover than the actual customer experience. Not that there was anything untoward about the food: it was not great either, though, and at no point were we made to feel really welcome.

Kind of an unpleasant experience. Service was quite slow, prices were extremely expensive and on top of everything they forgot to charge us for the drinks, resulting in us being called back in front of lots of people upon leaving which made us feel awful. Food was ok ish but nothing special. 2/10. Wouldn t recommend

Excellent avacado and egg toast

Advertises happy hour on the pavement, but it isnt happy hour (I asked and was told it was hough to be fair this was corrected when I ordered. The cocktails are so weak at first I thought my mojito was just lime and soda water. Service is slow. This is a tourist trap, and better avoided.

Misleading information about Happy Hour, slow service and a mediocre, expensive cocktail which doesnt taste of alcohol at all.

Avoid! Their chef definitely has no clue how to cook. Caesar salad was terrible, fish and chips-just no, steak-hard as a rubber! Dirty! Table was sticky, bread crumbs on the sofa! Interior is fit more for poor area rather than for Central London,old tables and chairs,cheap dishes.

Lovely small café good place to get your afternoon tea accompanied by some cakes. We had the carrot cake and a hot chocolate (with cream and marshmallows on top), it tasted really good and it was ~ 11-12£ per person. They also have a good range of milk choice (soy, almond, oat) and vegan cakes ! The service was fast and friendly.

Its a pastry shop, perhaps; it is located near Covent Garden not far from Leicester Square and the maybe is given by the fact that I asked if the desserts were made by them but I understood that in fact they only sold them but the production was by someone else; even the managers were a little particular, they made several people wait outside the small place while there were still several empty seats (!); however, lets talk about desserts: delicious, really delicious, and this is what I liked in the end.

A nice little find after walking miles and needing a sit down and a cup of tea. Despite being 5pm happy to allow us seats and a pot of tea for 2 with prompt service. Plenty for 2 cups each. Good choice of teas available, Service charge included. Service : 4/5

Beautiful place, relaxing atmosphere and very kind staff. We have been there several times and this time with the decorated Christmas tree and the Christmas music in the background it is wonderful.

One of the worst places Ive ever eaten in. Surly staff with no customer interaction other than to take your order, almost inedible food which I would have rejected if Id had time to go elsewhere before the show started. Overpriced for what was in the plate, even for London. Cramped seating in a room with no atmosphere and management using a table in a prime position for admin.

Probably the worst coffee Ive had in a long time and at a cost of £4.70 not good value either, rain water would have had more flavour.

I had a chicken paella. Way too pricey compared to the taste and quality of the food. Should ve been cooked longer as it was too moist if you know what i mean. I came here yesterday with my friend. The place was pretty empty yet the service especially slow and very rude. I ended up leaving after ordering a drink because the waitress was very rude and started signalling an argument to my friend regarding an ice cream she brought rather than just tell her to take it outside. No need, we dont bite just tell us politely to leave! She was very unpleasant and I certainly will not be coming back anytime soon.

Very poor. Not recommended. Went in for a quick snack and cocktails. Board outside said two cocktails for £16, Was told the same inside then tried to charge us full price. Brought the wrong food then tried to make us feel like we were in the wrong. Rude staff. Avoid!

Food not bad, but 7 pounds of table service??????

The waiter called Alf (Italian looking, long hair, stocky and cocky attitude) really ruins this place for the other lovely staff. He leaves many an unhappy customer, as I see by all these other reviews as well. He is extremely rude, unwelcoming and obnoxious to customers. He ruins the experience for everyone who have the misfortune of encountering him. I feel sorry for the other staff who are so lovely, yet customers walk out feeling unhappy for this waste of space. When we complained about him to another of the waiters, this other person apologised and told us sympathetically that Alf gets many complaints. Alf is in the wrong job and should not be allowed to work in the hospitality sector.

Served us a meat burger in a Vegetarian meal. Took over 1 hour to serve that! Rubbish.

Went there on pride day for a few drinks. The service was terrible. Didn t get the beer right, brought food we didn t order.. the male waiter did not even look at us when taking our order and removing the menus from our hands. Once we paid; the waiter stood there for 10mins clearly wanting to get us out although our drinks weren t finished.

Live just up the road and decided to try this place out. Big group of us got turned away because our dog was not allowed to sit outside - even with the dog outside the barriers. Fully understand rules are in place but to speak to us in such a disrespectful way was disgusting and will never turn.

Avoid if you have allergies or dietary restrictions. They dont have a seperate menu showing allergens and made assumptions about my allergy without asking me, and seemed unable to discuss it discreetly. There were very few options available and every dish needed adjustment to the point of being unpalatable - very unusual in London in 2022. I wouldnt go back. The friends I dined with who ordered without restriction werent particularly impressed with their food, but it was OK. The lamb required a steak knife, which was not provided. It was expensive. £34 including tip for 1 (not very appetising) course and 2 drinks. Dietary restrictions: Avoid if you have dietary restrictions.

Nice people but very average food and INCREDIBLY expensive glass of rosé @ £10.90/glass? .did they deliberately mishear our order of a medium rosé? They made a few errors with other clients orders. Meal portions small, eg. Garlic Bread consisted of two very small very thin oval slices of bread at £5.50. Small Chicken Cesar Salad portion. Casablanca (stuff in a soggy bun) contained just a tiny Halloumi portion. The chips were nice, but again a small portion @ £4.50? Misleading / obscure drinks menu too, re. Cider ( £7/pint ) morphed into a half pint @ £4.50! Shame; nice location, but inflated unfathomable London pricing for a rather disappointing meal experience I sadly can t recommend .

If all the restaurants in the west End we had to pick this one!!! My partner ordered Sirloin steak, it looked grey in the middle when he cut into it!! I had chicken skewers with rice. Chicken looked like it had been formed and not hot considering it should have just come off a grill!!! Rice was tepid so I left it as I don t think it was brought up to the correct temperature!! 2 pints 2 glasses of wine ( one large one medium) 2 dinners £75.71 ( £8.41 service charge) On a good point other half said it was a very good pint of San Miguel. Will not be returning !!!!!

This is without a doubt the absolute worst restaurant in the entire city of London. The only thing that is worse the than the blatantly watered scotch they serve. The service is, in fact, so bad that we never actually got to meet half of the food we ordered. This may have been a blessing in disguise, based on the food we did try. P.S. it may be worth noting that we were forced to order food under duress from the waiter in order to be able to order drinks.

We visited Cafe La Roche 39 and had one cocktail and two slices of cake. Although the cocktail and cake were nice to eat, I couldnt believe a cake slice was £9.50! So overall it came to around £30. I wouldnt expect that pricing in a high-end establishment in London let alone a cafe. I dont believe any cake slice is worth that much, for that reason I wouldnt recommend this place. Responding note: I was charged £9.50 twice and then another 9-something for the cocktail. Initially, the server tried charging me for 2 coffees on top (which we didnt order), so maybe there was a mistake in billing. Either way, for 1 cocktail and 2 slices of cake it was around £30. I dont have the receipt.

We stopped at this cafe to take a warm break, we were very well received, the drinks were good as well as the red velvet. It was quiet and the choice of music (Harry Styles music) was great!

Delicious burgers and nice atmosphere
