34 Rupert St, London W1D 6DN, United Kingdom
Modern fare influenced by the rich cultures of Southern Spain, North Africa and the Levant.
The food is amazing here! Good Mediterranean restaurants always create a beautiful and unique flavour that goes beyond my imagination, and this place did well too. The appetisers here are amazing, with all the bread and spread options. The burnt aubergine paste had a rich flavour. And the two tartare were the winner. Especially with the beef tartare, which is commonly served in many restaurants but it was the best I’ve had so far. Unfortunately, as of November 2024, the main lack of seafood which was personally a bit disappointing as I saw photos of octopus or sea breams in the reviews. But we loved the vegan main with mushrooms, again it had a complex and creative flavour. It’s right at the heart of Soho, so I understand that it gets very busy. But it is a bit of a shame that we have to finish up in one and a half hour because the food experience here is top notch! Would have been great to spend a couple of hours or more on different meals. 🫶🏻✨
it's quite disappointing...it's expensive, I was expecting the portion are small but should have delicious flavor... also, the waiter is kind but a bit pushy. Perhaps we ordered a little but 4 dishes are quite enough for us(3 elderly ).
I had the most delicious lunch here! Highlights were the cauliflower mshat & the chicken labanieh (truly divine!). Sitting at the kitchen bar and watching the chefs preparing the food and seeing other people’s dishes go out is great fun. The polenta looked amazing so will be having that next time!
We love this Soho restaurant, especially sitting at the bar watching the chefs cook their delicious food. We chose a variety of dishes and loved everyone. The cauliflower and pork were my particular favourites. The pork was cooked just slightly pink, just how I love it. Perfect service from a delightful team. Can't wait to go back. • Baharat bread with whipped butter • Hummus Masabacha • Seasonal House Pickles • Turmeric Cauliflower Mshat with Apricot Harissa • Chicken Labanieh, Yoghurt Sauce, Chilli Butter, Burnt Onion • 50 Day Aged Pork Chop, Roast Peaches, Basil (Also posted to my food blog on Instagram @AbbeyKing16)
Unbelievable food. Beautiful ambient, friendly staff and great service. Food is fantastic! The octopus is a must. To tell you the truth. Everything we ordered was amazing.
The Tarka Octopus with Kabaneh, Polenta Jerusalem style and the ice cream sandwich were stunning and delicious. Thank you for the amazing service. Wish we had such an incredible dining spot closer to home in Sydney. Highly recommended!
Wonderful lunch here - the set menu is fabulously good value for money but we certainly added to the bill with a lovely bottle of wine, desserts and digestifs. The food was outstanding- a series of great tasting well constructed dishes - such fresh delightful tastes. Service was friendly and professional despite being under pressure - packed on a Thursday lunchtime. Chef did tell me Dinner service is 3x as busy but they work well as a team and deliver a great experience. I hope they take a moment to to listen to the atmosphere; even on a Thursday lunchtime this joyous food led to a dining room full of the sound of guests enjoying each others company and the food
We’re 2 and ordered: - Sesame chicken schnitzel - Cantabrian anchovies - Kubaneh - Hummus masabacha - Seabass tartare - Beef tartare - Chicken labanieh - Polenta Jerusalem style For the dessert (they have a separate menu): Chocolate & Hazelnut Ice Cream Everything’s amazing. We will definitely go back. Well-deserved Michelin bib! (We were sitting on the counter and we can see the dishes being prepared. The Ribye also seems like a good pick.)
Top top quality food. Stunningly good service and a vibrant atmosphere. I ll be back!
Best food in London
Warm and cosy atmosphere, friendly and extremely efficient service. All the more, what you get in your plate is taste full and of quality. Inventive cook that takes a middle east base and adds touches of south Europe and Asia. I wish I could go back more often. They deserve a 5*
Relaxed atmosphere. Attentive but unobtrusive friendly staff. A lovely evening spent exploring amazing food and breads. A big wow for the kabaneh bread.
Amazing food at a great price! Staff were very knowledgeable and welcoming! We went for what the bartender recommend Turmeric Cauliflower, baby cucumbers, chicken, kubaneh and the Sea Bream. The bream is a must!
Great food, excellent service
Loved everything about this place. Delicious food and impeccable service
Nothing to say, everything was excellent from start to finish! We dined at the counter, the waiter was lovely, he gave us very good advice and the atmosphere was great watching the cooks. We loved all our dishes and desserts (special mention for the Tbone), go there with your eyes closed!
The food was ok but the price was too high. The broccoli was way too burnt, pointless dish 1/5 - dont order it. The starters were tasty, but nothing that a German baker wouldnt throw out every morning. The anti-pasti/spicy experience was ok but nothing special. The main courses were delicious and filling, but the taste was very monotonous, 3/5. The dessert was delicious, but the ice cream sandwich, two baklava with vanilla ice cream, is available in every German kebab shop. The nut cake was good. The service and drinks were a 5/5, the ambience was also good, but the price for the food was just way too high.
Great service and delicious food!!!
Absolutely great from begining to end.
Amazing staff and delicious food!
Tucked away in Soho, The Palomar is a vibrant gem that offers a sensational dining experience inspired by the bold flavors and rich culinary traditions of Jerusalem. From the moment you walk through the doors, you re immersed in an atmosphere of energy, warmth, and creativity. Ambience The Palomar s lively vibe hits you immediately. The open kitchen, with chefs deftly preparing dishes while chatting with guests at the counter, creates an infectious energy that makes you feel like part of the action. For a more intimate experience, the back dining room offers a cozier setting without losing the restaurant s buzzing charm. Food & Drinks The menu is a masterful fusion of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavors, designed for sharing. Start with the Kubaneh, a soft, buttery Yemenite bread served with a tangy tomato dip simple, yet utterly addictive. The Polenta Jerusalem-Style, served with asparagus, truffle oil, and parmesan, is a standout dish that balances indulgence and freshness perfectly. For mains, dishes like the Shawarma-Spiced Octopus or the Jaffa-Style Seabass showcase bold spices and innovative techniques. Vegetarians will be delighted by offerings like the Cauliflower Steak with zhoug and tahini. Every dish is beautifully plated, bursting with color and texture. The drinks menu is equally exciting, with a creative selection of cocktails and a well-curated wine list featuring both local Israeli wines and international favorites. Service The service at The Palomar is top-notch. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the food they re serving. They re quick to make thoughtful recommendations and ensure every guest feels attended to, whether you re at the counter or a table. Value While The Palomar isn t a budget-friendly option, the quality of the food and the overall experience justify the price. It s a great spot for a celebratory meal or a special night out. Final Thoughts The Palomar offers more than just a meal it s an experience. With its vibrant atmosphere, innovative dishes, and warm service, it s no wonder it has become a favorite in London s dining scene. If you re a fan of bold flavors and shared plates, this is a restaurant you ll want to visit again and again.
The chicken entree was amazing!
Awful
Delicious and great vibe. Vegetarian options: great veggie options Food : 5/5 |
Delicious food and very helpful staff. We had a young blonde woman that was serving us and gave us fantastic suggestions. Will be coming back!
Stunning food and brilliant service
The food was delicious but there is nothing that stands out, mild flavors and somewhat bland and boring, it lacks power. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is very good.
Food was good. The portion is a bit small and its not middle eastern authentic. More like fusion. Must try the shnitzel! Very delicious! Also the hummus was good
Great food, very warm atmosphere
Amazing spot with super cocktails, fabulous food (tailored to single diners and groups) and incredible team - thanks Zoe for turning around my day!
The Palomar was recommended by a friend who visited London last year. We love the casual atmosphere with views of the open kitchen. We sat at the bar and had the most amazing meal with wine to accompany our food. We ordered a lot, and some of our favorite dishes came from the starters (the schnitzel and cauliflower). We will be recommending this to any friend we know coming to visit.
The place is great, but there is no halal menu (meat and chicken)
The food and atmosphere were awesome but unfortunately our waitress was a bit sour and rushed us through the evening.
Incredible food, great portion sizes and very tasty. Ambient atmosphere, friendly and memorable service. We will be back!
Great restaurant! Got a last minute reservation, sat at the bar top and got to watch our meals be made. Incredibly delicious food and excellent service! If you re in the SoHo area, I 1,000% suggest trying this restaurant!
Honestly over priced and not a touch on cheaper restaurants in the Old Compton street area. The cauliflower was delicious though as was the ice cream sandwich. Everything else was OK, but for the price we paid I expected more. The staff however were LOVELY and the cocktails sublime. So it s still a lovely place to visit
Very very good. Dishes to share with Mediterranean flavors. Nice atmosphere at the bar.
Amazing as usual. Cannot recommend highly enough. And special call out to the hostess of the evening. She was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and made me feel right at home.
Awesome food for both of us and original cocktails well made and served. Great atmosphere. We loved it!
Secondo time and always an experience You see and taste the passion in this restaurant Sitting at the kitchen table is a unique event Intense flavours Flaming action Staff highly professional and kind Hope to get there soon again
The Palomar is always exceptional. Every dish, the service and the whole experience is outstanding. A must each time I visit London.
A friend told us this was the best restaurant on the planet. After our first visit we agree and will be going back. Best service too.
Absolutely gorgeous food and the best vibes in theatreland! The open kitchen is fantastic
We turned up on spec after a matinee performance and the lady on the front desk kindly squeezed us in. The baharat bread and baba ganoush was lovely as a starter but the stars of the show were the hake in brown butter and chicken Labanieh. The hake was the softest we ve ever tasted and the chicken beautifully seasoned and crispy skin. For dessert the ice cream sandwich which was pistachio ice cream in between baklava was lovely. First class service and lovely atmosphere make this a top place to eat.
it was a lovely evening. only the pace was very high. the flavours were perfect. and all the reviews are certainly not lying.
I ve been coming to Palomar for years - I ve taken friends and family here, I ve recommended this restaurant - and today I had an experience I d like to not repeat in the future. I was in the area and wanted to grab lunch so I checked reservations, saw there were plenty of slots available for my party of 2 within a 30min window, and figured since there were availabilities, I d just walk in. We asked at the front desk and were told, Hmmmm so sorry, we don t have anything available unfortunately. It was pretty performative. So I went outside. And booked one of the available slots. And went right back inside because my booking was now in 10min. The same woman was at the front desk and went, oh you re back? You have a reservation? Hmmm let s see about that. Sure enough, I did. Not sure what this power trip behavior is all about but it s really quite tacky and not on brand for this restaurant. Food was wonderful and waitstaff was delightful, per usual, hence the stars.
Dairy allergy: we had to run to the hospital! Allergy was specified during online booking and before ordering at the table, staff had to call an ambulance and run to the hospital, sorry guys but in 2024 you cannot mess up with allergies, my wife could have died.
Sensational food (and let s face it, that s why you go to a restaurant first and foremost) - good cocktails, service was excellent and helped guide us through the menu (recommendations and volume of items spot on), fun sitting at the bar watching chefs, cosy with a buzz. Highly recommend!
This place has got even better since my last amazing visit a year ago. The food is incredible (especially cucumber with tahini and the pumpkin dish). Service was great, wines great food outstanding.
Excellent service. Beyond that, simple and small portions. Culinary garlic. A white plate or an overpriced hummus plate. Its really not clear what all the fuss is about. Very disappointing! Light years away from Manioda.
Fantastic food as always. Great, friendly service at the bar seating. Restaurant a bit too hot during the mini heatwave day last week, so heating may have been on rather than cooling AC. Food
DON T. EXPIRED. It has nothing to do with the original PALOMAR. Lost its vibe, quality, and style in service. The Two Star rating is harsh indeed, but in comparison to what this place used to be, I think it s justified. The signature dish is a joke now. Compare the pics 2019 and 24. Disappointed.
Really great food here, all clean and even mostly organic wines.
Disappointing. Not worth the price.
Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options Food
Literally found this spot strolling through SoHo looking for dinner options. Wow! Amazing food. Transparent kitchen cooked in front of you. Meat was perfectly done. Flavorful. Staff are friendly and fun. Cocktails are superb. I will be back for sure
It s not very often a place makes you feel very welcomed as a solo diner, in most places I would say it s actually quite awkward. Staff usually just ask you what you want and you sit, eat, pay and then leave. My opinion has changed since I ve come to this place. Staff were very friendly, polite and extremely attentive. Recommendations by the staff were absolutely on point with the food, I was recommended the Sea Bream and it was phenomenal; I was literally lost for words when I was asked how it was. The wine suggested to me, the Tameran, I think is an excellent choice to contrast the other wines that they have by the glass such as their chosen Sancerre or the Chablis. Great showcase of different regional wines by the glass. I came in with the intent just to have a couple of small dishes, but after the starters I needed to try more. Also note the photos of the food was after I had a nibble. And finally a note to TJ and Zoe, you guys were the people that made that night special. Palomars is very lucky to have you two.
Completely epic
Loved the drinks and the schnitzel was incredible. Do not be fooled by the small portions, the food is not to be missed. Food
Everything was excellent, the price is relatively high, so I would go to a place like this only on special occasions, but everything is excellent
I ordered the ribeye and it was delivered cold. I told the waiter. Did not offer to fix it just to reheat the steak I currently had. I dont want a re-heated dry steak. If Im paying over 50 pounds for dinner I expect them to fix things no questions asked. Said the plate was warm. Sure the plate was but the steak was cold. I always return to great places for food will not return anymore. I myself cook ribeye steaks several times a month at home. Do you think I dont know what a good steak should be like?
Lovely time at the Palomar. The food was excellent and so was the service Dietary restrictions: Very knowledgeable about gluten allergy - were able to clearly state what has traces and what is gf. They even have a very nice gluten free bread Food : 5/5 |
Excelent meal and great service - I loved the atmosphere with the seats all at the bar. The creamy polenta with truffle was quite nice and the proposed wine paring was great.
We had the most incredible experience at The Palomar! Celebrated my 60th birthday with family. The staff and service were outstanding and the meal was delicious- every single item! The surprise dessert to celebrate my birthday was the best chocolate brownie any of us had ever eaten!
My fifth time at The Palomar and it has retained a perfect score from me! Every mouthful of food was memorable and delicious, the atmosphere perfect and the staff friendly and attentive.
Nice to eat at the bar, buzzing place, highly recommend the almost hidden gem Labneh. Very attentive and friendly service.
Visited to have dinner before seeing a musical. I experienced delicious food and friendly staff. 100% intention to revisit
We went for the Summer Set Menu which was absolutely delicious. Menu had loads of options and look forward to returning and trying something different. Dietary restrictions: There where excellent fresh fish alternatives to the impressive meat dishes.
Great food, great service, highly recommended, well done team
Pretty great food but not worth the price of the main dishes. The dips are great! Food : 4/5
Chef Murray and his team are incredible. Food is first class. Service is better
I enjoyed my dinner here so much that I came back a second night in a row. Phenomenal food, great staff. Lamb belly was divine. Can t wait to come back.
Unreal food so lovely! The people serving me were very fun and kind.
This place has been on my list for a while - I finally got around to trying it out, and boy! I wasn t disappointed ! A very engaging bunch of chefs when seated at the chefs counter makes the atmosphere welcoming as well. The kubaneh bread was like a cloud !! And the chicken was
Small place, exceptional food quality, honorable mention for the lamb and for the chicken. High prices.
Just fantastic! A must-see address!
One of my favorite restaurants! We ordered: Pita bread with hummus Chicken Labanieh Braised lamb Crispy pink fir potatoes For dessert: Baklava ice cream sandwich
The service was good and attentive but the portion were very small ( for the price ) and the food good but not amazing. The music too loud to be able to hear each others. Overall disappointed.
Amazing local food experience. Kubaneh was a big fluffy super delicious bread fit with all the side dishes. Baba Ganoush has truly nice taste profile layer by layer. We highly recommend the Beef Tartare. As main we ate the Whole Mackerel which was fantastic again. Staff was kind and helpful. It s a true gem just located in central London.
Delicious food with interesting flavours. The staff were especially great, attentive and friendly, plus really helpful with allergy information. + The chocolate basque cheesecake with yogurt olive oil gelato was incredible
Nice food and cocktails for a date night or if you re with friends in central!
Pretty mediocre. This is one of those places where you regret coming when you have limited meals in a new city. I dont know why its so highly rated. Tourist trap maybe? I had the Tarka Octopus, which at £26 or $34, was probably the costliest octopus Ive had for 3 tiny pieces (see photo) and I live in NYC. And hardly tender enough. And bitter after taste. The Kubaneh was good bread but nothing to write home about. The Picante cocktail was good. Overall, missed opportunity to be a good dinner. Ps. I didnt order more because of the poor experience of what I had already ordered. Pps. And they charge 15% service charge!!! What loot! $68 for a cocktail, bread, and a tiny main.
This place is perfection. Not a single negative at all. Food was exceptional, service was possibly the best I ve ever experienced and the wine was delicious. Highlights were the hummus, the mushroom truffle polenta (real comfort food) and the straciatella. Thank you for making my partner s birthday so special - the surprise at the end was totally unexpected. Thank you especially to our waiter who was not just helpful but also great company.
It was our first experience and we d read a few reviews, our experience far surpassed our expectations. The food was amazing, so fresh and flavoursome, just delicious! The service was outstanding too, they were welcoming, thoughtful and considered our preferences and budget. We will definitely be going there again. Loved it!
Such lovely servers, delicious wine (that red pet nat has my heart) and gorgeous food. Thank you!!
Great food at a great location
We ordered a table for two for the prix fixe lunch menu a few days in advance on the website. Since the location is quite small with only a few tables this is a good recommendation. Even though they also have a long kitchen bar looking directly at the chefs where you might have a better chance to get a spontaneous spot without reservation after a stroll thru Chinatown which is comfortably located right next. The set menu was a wonderful choice of set starters with a charming option between a fish, meat or vegetarian main course. We chose the fish and the chicken - whereas the grilled hale with a delicious nocellara cremolata topping next to a spicy chraime was my absolute favorite. Thanks also for the great service.
Amazing food and atmosphere, the staff were lovely - massive thanks to Zoe for the recommendations! Love that you can see the food being prepared as you eat at the counter, such a cool place
Another brilliant meal at Palomar, amazing food and wine and a wonderful server. I think I could come here every week and never tire of the food and atmosphere. See you again!
Amazing food and service
Great fresh food and friendly staff. Jerusalem polenta was delicious! Will definitely visit again. Food : 5/5
Simply wow! The unique flavors of modern Jerusalem cuisine in the heart of Soho. Dishes technically executed to perfection that enhance simple but very high quality raw materials. Unmissable dishes: - Summer Tomato Salad | Roast Tomato Vinaigrette, Spiced Labneh - Chicken Labanieh | Yoghurt Sauce, Chilli Butter, Burnt Onion - Baby Cucumbers | Soy Tahini, Fennel, Candied Almonds Right quality/price ratio. Kind and trained staff who denote great professionalism and passion. Well done!
Had a great lunch for my wifes birthday. Food was so tasty. Definitely recommend. Staff were very friendly too.
Loved the dining experience here. Brilliantly set out menu - my only recommendation would be to talk through the menu, highlighting who is in the kitchen and who will be hosting us - however, I appreciate this isnt everybodys desire, I purely just love learning and knowing whose behind the curated dishes!
We loved the food, it was delicious and very reasonably priced. Our waitress (Shira, I think) was delightful. Thank you! Food
What a gem of a restaurant! The Palomar offers an intimate dining experience that s perfect for couples. Securing a space at the bar is a must watching the chefs work their magic is an unforgettable part of the experience. The food and drinks are simply amazing, with flavors that are both bold and nuanced. Despite its small size, The Palomar manages to feel cozy and welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy an exceptional meal in London.
Fantastic experience, amazing staff and the most delicious food, thank you so much! We will be back, we sat at the kitchen bar area and everything coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. Coming back to work our way through the menu!
Came here to have a drink at the bar and watch the Euros football. Beautiful restaurant, lovely atmosphere and excellent wine. The service was exceptional, friendly and attentive. Food : 5/5
Delicious and very friendly service. Sat at the bar. It was a delightful experience.
I usually sit at the counter, fun sharing plates, well curated menu with great flair and genuine care. More of an intimate space, somewhere I would go for an evening out.
Amazing experience - one of my favourite restaurants. Service was outstanding: attentive, friendly & knowledgable. We enjoyed sitting at the counter where the chefs occasionally chatted to us. So many great menu choices and the quality of the food & cooking is excellent. Favourite dishes were the pork with grilled peach (special), octopus, and baklava ice cream sandwich. Drinks were great too. 10/10
Every savory dish was incredible, particularly the chicken labanieh and the octopus. The chocolate cheesecake and olive oil yoghurt ice cream was underwhelming though. But overall an amazing dinner with friendly service and great atmosphere to boot!
Vegetarian options: Only my mother is vegetarian, but we mostly ordered vegetarian for the table so she could enjoy the food. Fantastic options - Pretty much All dips are vegetarian. We also ordered a really yummy peach salad, a cabbage main, and the mushroom truffle polenta was fantastic!! Food
Rude staff and food was served lupe warm and tasted like it had been reheated from earlier. Never again.
Of all the restaurants Ive been to in London over the past few years, this is the one Id most like to see expand into Tokyo. This restaurant combines Middle Eastern cuisine with the essence of southern Spain and North Africa, and uses spices to its fullest. The ingredients are not only organic, but also locally produced for local consumption, and the wine is only purchased from small wineries, so to speak, from producers that they can see. Its an open kitchen, so you can feel the food being prepared live. The inside of the store is small, so the distance between the kitchen and the person next to you is close, so it feels full of energy in a good way. I ordered it a la carte, and each dish uses a variety of spices and herbs, and when they all come together, they create a deliciousness youve never tasted before. Its a very innovative restaurant. The paper table mats on the tables not only list the days menu and recommended drinks, but also the names of the cooks and the people on the floor. Its like looking at a pamphlet for a stage play, which is also wonderful. Its very convincing that this store has captured Big Bullman. Today s Order Even when I looked at the menu, I couldnt imagine what would be served, so I ordered what the restaurant staff recommended! Pita - £3 Homemade pita baked on the spot. Its chewy, fluffy, and really delicious. Its delicious on its own, and its also delicious when combined with a variety of dishes. Baba Ganoush - £7 Dip made of smoked eggplant mixed with homemade sesame paste called tahini, herbs (I had no idea what this was), and topped with black and white sesame seeds. This herb is an exquisite seasoning. The sesame paste brings out the richness, and when everything comes together, its perfect. The smokiness of the eggplant is exquisite and will whet your appetite. Summer Tomato Salad - £12 The handsome waiter recommended this salad to me, saying it was my favorite dish. This dish is so amazing that, as far as I can tell, its mainly tomatoes, mint, basil, and onions marinated in a roasted tomato vinaigrette. Yogurt sauce is added to the edge of the plate. What I didnt understand was the dried brown powder on top. I think it was probably some kind of dried food, but I wonder what it was. The sometimes crunchy texture was also fun, and it was a truly inventive dish. Of course, this was also very delicious. Cantabrian Anchovies - £10 Anchovies with lemon confit and olives, perfect to accompany wine. This was the only disappointing thing, the anchovies were quite salty and I couldnt finish them all by myself. Tarka Octopus - £26 Thick octopus legs. I wonder how many hours this was boiled, its super soft. Underneath is a puree of white kidney beans. There are some onions hidden underneath. It is covered with spicy tomato salsa sauce. Whats on top are herbs and sesame seeds. I had no idea what these herbs were, as they were beyond my knowledge, but they added a nice accent to the dish, and I was happy to be able to finish the entire dish with it being extremely delicious from start to finish. The use of spices and herbs was amazing, and each dish was delicious, something I had never tasted before. No wonder its packed even on weekdays, with some people lining up outside. It was a very innovative and wonderful store. This restaurant has tables, but the main feature is the counter, so its easy to come in alone. I would like to make a reservation and visit you again when I go to London.
I would really recommend this place. The service is outstanding, and food amazing. We got a seat by the window, perfect for glimpsing out on the busy streets of London while having a lovely meal and wine. You have to try the chicken(!!!)
The waiter introduced the meals enthusiastically The chef shows off his cooking skills directly at the bar The food is delicious but the portions are exquisite Because in SoHo, meals are not cheap. We ordered four dishes (handmade bread, sour cream, grilled chicken, grilled octopus) and it cost almost NT$1,500 per person.
We had a lovely evening. Enjoyed your delicious food . Your team is great and really looked after us. Special mention to TJ! I couldn t recommend The Palomar more :)
Wow! Not sure which was better the food or the staff. The food was amazing..different and so tasty. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. An excellent meal and a pleasure to dine here. Recommend the pink fir potatoes sounded so simple but they excelled. You wont be disappointed if you dine here. Best to book as its busy and I understand why!
Where to begin. The meal start to finish was absolutely splendid. The kubaneh bread light and flavorful pairing perfectly with baba ganoush and lebnah dip. Lebnah dip so good, two orders necessary. Big recommendations: - sea bass tartare - the chicken (IYKYK) - chocolate cheesecake - lebnah Can t speak more highly. The chicken will exceed any expectation. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. 10/10. A must.
My third time there and its still a charm!
The worst restaurant I have ever been to. Their food is really disgusting, and the staff is rude. Dont even bother.
Brilliant meal. All recommendations were spot on. Vibe was bustling and upbeat with an absolute terrific staff. I will recommend The Palomar to anybody who will listen to me and would personally return in a heartbeat.
Brilliant restaurant fabulous food totally delicious service is great & cocktails awesome good value too. Will be back soon.
Great food. Fresh and vibrant. Service was slow but overall a great experience
Food and cocktails were absolutely incredible, one of the best restaurants I have been to in while. Service was friendly and efficient. We ate slightly before normal dinner time and watched the place fill up, and lots of people without reservations turned away at the door. Atmosphere was great.
Superb food and drinks the staff were brilliant really enjoyed the experience Food
Absolutely terrible! If you want Middle Eastern food just go to a Middle Eastern restaurant. This place is overrated and the food is below average. Food : 1/5
Great food, flavors and excellent service
We sat at the bar and had delicious dishes: tomato salad, cauliflower mshat, octopus and grilled hake.
Wonderful evening sitting at the bar. Fabulous food and engaging, entertaining and knowledge staff. Thank you
Good service and atmosphere but not the best Middle Eastern food, and I m being kind.
Exceptional! The two of us had a great time and we will go back as soon as possible! If you like to eat, definitely try it!!
Really enjoyed eating on the terrace! Food was lovely, but didn t blow our minds! The cauliflower mshat, stracciatella, and chicken were great, and good cocktails too!
Food creativity and flavors were outstanding! Kitchen was very clean and all chefs worked together to create a fabulous experience for us! Manager very attentive and welcoming. Service and bar tenders were so personable, explained the dishes, gluten friendly with amazing gluten free bread. Favorite restaurant after 7 days here. Thank You!!!
Incredible dining experience, in the centre of London. The restaurant is quite intimate, service was good and each plate was so delicious
Loved the atmosphere when you first walk in. Great food and reasonable price for the set menu
My recent dining experience was deeply disappointing. Arriving without a reservation, we were directed to an outdoor table. Shortly after, the weather took a turn, with light drizzle and wind picking up. Concerned about the worsening conditions, I inquired about the possibility of moving indoors, only to be bluntly informed that we would have to manage outside. As the weather further deteriorated, I had to insist on being moved indoors. Reluctantly, the staff accommodated us, but their demeanor was cold and unwelcoming. Later, when I expressed discomfort about how the situation was handled, a staff member retorted that moving us inside was a favor. Feeling both cheated and disrespected, especially after spending £250, it was clear that this establishment believes it can mistreat customers without repercussion. Such an experience is unacceptable, especially from a restaurant of its caliber. Its disheartening to leave a venue feeling undervalued and disregarded.
Good experience. The dips and bread were great. Carrots, chicken and polenta were excellent. The only disappointment was the lemon sole, it was not fresh and the flavours disappointing
Faultless. Great food and kind service. I like the opened-kitchen and bar table. It is very joyful not only for food but also for watching cooking. And I was so impressed by their cleanness. Tarka Octopus is so good and insane, highly recommended. Chicken Labanieh and Kubaneh are also recommended. 5 out of 5.
Lovely place, delicious food. Very attentive service. Everything perfect, just that £2 for a tap water? Listed as filtered. And 15% service charge. I mean... 15%! Food
A warm welcome from the start which continued throughout our visit. We re returning next week! Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible
Lovely meal, exceptional service. Ross is a star.
First time eating at the Palomar and we will definitely be back! We had an excellent evening - wonderfully delicious food and excellent wines. The restaurant has a buzzy but laid back vibe, and delivers excellence. The evening was really made by the staff though - especially the head waiter who deserves special mention for his peerless service and hospitality. Can t recommend this restaurant highly enough.
Worst food to price to portion ratio I have ever had. The tartare was 90g of meat for 17 pounds. Food
A few weeks ago I met a person who worked here who highly recommended the food and cocktails. I arrived to get a drink as I was in the area and upon my arrival I was asked if I knew anyone there, I mentioned the persons name who I had no more than a five minute long conversation with and was asked to leave as it was company policy. The whole situation was just as funny as it was ridiculous. Thanks for nothing Palomar
Great food and cocktails, the Picante was a highlight! We were seated at the kitchen bar, the team took such great care of us!
Great food , great ambience.
Absolutely loved eating here, every dish we had was as good as the last. I highly recommend the hake. Our waiter was also great and the service was phenomenal . Food
The lunch menu is quite an exceptional deal! The amount of amazing food for that price is truly a bargain. We loved everything we had, with a special mention to the polenta, baba ganoush and the spectacular kubaneh bread. Very pleasant service as well
Everything was perfect, dishes are quite small but very tasty. Ross makes the best jalapeños margaritas in town!
I have been to The Palomar several times but think the set price menu at lunchtime is such a good idea. This is clearly getting people back to restaurants at lunchtime, as it was full, and introducing new customers to the fabulous food they serve at an extremely reasonable price. A great place.
My most anticipated meal of the trip and it did not disappoint. Everything we ate was delicious, to the point we left absolutely stuffed from eating too much. Great cocktails too!
Restaurant refused to serve only few cups of coffee at their lovely tables outside, considering they re not just a coffee shop . Can only guess what they could offer for the breakfast. Will return with empty stomachs to judge better of the place, single star for now
Great experience and fantastic food! The service was efficient, fast and lovely! We were seated at the bar and loved it! Highly recommended!
The food is amazing here - really interesting flavours and dishes. Portions are small. Next time book a table not a bar seat as sitting at the bar isn t THAT comfortable. Would come back cause food was great and service was good. Next time order pitta instead of the brioche bread - word of advice is show up on time for your reservation as they rush you out if you are not done within your time slot.
There is a great German word to describe everything in this place Wunderbar !
Enjoyed eating here for lunch. Sat at the bar, which I would recommend, and the food is served in small sharing plates - even the mains. The food was very tasty, and I though good value. They also have a good choice of cocktails to complement. I would certainly go again for an informal meal, or when meeting friends.
Great food and service!
Palomar has quickly become our favorite and must visit in London. This place is a beautiful ballet of creative cuisine, amazing staff and vibrant atmosphere. You cannot make a wrong decision once you walk through the doors.
Menu is stingy, both in prices and in choice. The size of some of the £10 side dips is basically two tea spoons, and there is a very narrow range considering the cuisine this kitchen can draw from. The rib eye steak was great. The rest was nah... Particularly disappointing were the potatoes which managed to be both bland and salty. No veggy salad of any kind in sight also helped the overall tasteless feel. Felt more European than middle eastern. Atmosphere is fine but hard to overlook largely tasteless menu. This place used to be amazing... Not sure how it lost its way. Such a shame.
Dined with my wife and two friends. Asked about the prix fixee menu. This was advertised on the website, and was a major reason for booking. Three of us were happy with the selection therein but one of our party wanted choices from the a la carte. We were informed that this was not possible as the prix fixee was only available if the whole table ordered from it. Our waiter was apologetic but explained he didn t make the rules. A second waiter told us that this happened in many other restaurants as well. This appears to be largely untrue from our experience. At this point, the second waiter became somewhat confident that we didn t really know what we were talking about. While the food was good, this whole episode rather spoilef the whole experience for the rest of the afternoon. For this reason, none of our party will ever return or recommend this to others. Really not good customer care as a result of a stupid policy.
Top 5 London restaurant
We wanted a buzzy restaurant on a Friday night and Palomar was perfect. I recommend booking a bar seat so you can watch the cooking and chat with the staff.
Tasty food with good customer service
Its nice place andgood food
Without a doubt, the best restaurant we tried in London. Several friends had recommended it to us and it was a total success. Mediterranean cuisine with flavors from the Middle East (Greece, Lebanon, Turkey, etc...). You have the option of sitting at the Kitchen Bar or tables, it depends on what you feel like. The cocktails are very good. As a recommendation to order, yes or yes, the eggplant, schnitzels, burrata, chicken and ribeye. The baklava dessert was also very good.
Everything was truly wonderful and the flavors were amazing
this place is the most over rated restaurant I have ever ate at. the food was not tasty and the chef didnt cook the food properly . I am Israeli and know that this place is Asaf Granit restaurant so I came with such a high hope and I was very disappointed. I hope this comment will help this place to match the noise to the quality of food and experience.
Food was SO good. Polenta was a must have, and Kubelah with Labneh is the perfect starter. Beautiful wines, lovely wait staff and overall great vibe. Only downside was I got too full and couldn t eat anymore (but they let us takeaway our leftovers).
Instantly one of my favourites in London
From the woman who answered the phone to all of the team who created and served us, the staff had the right balance of friendly professionalism. The food, as always, was excellent. Weve never been let down at The Palomar.
Fantastic food, brilliant service, lovely cocktails and the atmosphere is second to none. A real gem!
Excellent restaurant in the heart of Picadilly Circus, where you can taste oriental flavors with a touch of fusion. We ordered two starters, two main courses, two desserts and two cocktails and they were exactly £100. Everything was great, and considering the location, its not expensive. On a negative note, the portions are a bit small.
Lovely lunch. Great staff. Made to feel welcome. Will definitely be back when next in London
Fantastic food! The staff is also very welcoming and friendly. Definitely will be one of my go-to-places! Dietary restrictions: I am alergic to garlic, onions, chives and leek and they were able to adjust some dishes to my needs
Amazing food. The dips and the octopus were really well prepared. The atmosphere at the counter is really nice as you can watch all the food being prepared. We had the baklava with pistachio ice cream for dessert. It was the perfect bite-sized sweet finish to the meal.
Lovely dinner after early theatre show. Great food and service. A seat at the bar if you want the bustle or a quiet table at the back.
We had ribeye. Possibly the worst stake I ever had in my life. They did not ask for the cooking degree, the portion was small and the meat was very chewy. Service was horrible too. Waitress kept coming every two minutes, pushing herself in the middle of me and my guest to fill glasses or ask random questions. Generally, overpriced, not tasty food and unpleasent service.
Delicious food, friendly staff and great vibes.
Excellent from start to finish, sitting at the bar is always more fun watching the magic come together. Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable team, divine drinks and fun chat with Ross. Every mouthful is delicious, food that makes you slow down and savour. Dietary restrictions: Most of the menu is Gluten Free, and there is a delicious GF bread
Might be one of the best restaurants I ve ever been to, not only was the food absolutely perfect, the vibe of the restaurant just makes you share with friends, everyone can eat how much they want, the staff wasn t just professional and nice, they were genuine, if I really had to find one thing to complain about would be the corridor we had to wait it before being seated, but somehow even that added to the experience, I plan on going back every time I come back to London
Go here. It s incredible! We ordered their prix fixe menu, and everything was sublime. The chicken was easily the best and most juicy I ve ever had, the bread was outstanding, and the drinks were killer. Sauces, yoghurts, meats, starches, everything was life changing. Order whatever you want, and you won t be disappointed!
My husband and I absolutely love dining at The Palomar! The food is consistently delicious and the only issue we ever have is figuring out what to order because everything is SO good! The wait staff are always so kind and welcoming and every dining experience is better than the one before.
