10 Shepherd Market, London W1J 7QF, United Kingdom
Kitty Fisher's is a small, uniquely atmospheric dining room & bar in Mayfair's historic Shepherd Market serving award-winning modern British food, Old World wines and strong liquor (with some delicious temperance drinks for abstainers). We look forward to welcoming you soon 🤗!
Extraordinary food, nice atmosphere and very friendly and efficient staff. Great champagane. Try the cod‘s roe on toast!
An amazing place for 1st class food. Last week they accomadted a party of 20 people for a Xmas dinner. The food was amazing! What must also be mentioned was the superlative service given. Polite and courteous to the extreme without being in your face. Excellent.
Great london eatery. Have visited a couple of times, with friends and also with my young family. The food is great and service is great too. I'd recommend their steak, always cooked to perfection and served with simply the best potato's ever.
Starters are amazing “Chicken Liver” was my favourite definitely coming back for more 10/10, mains were also good but not as much as starters 8/10. Prices wise was expensive so would not go as often, they do look after allergies too which was great. Service was excellent 11/10. Overall I would give it 9/10
Excellent quality, will come back again. Much better than Peter Luger in New York which I went to last year. Kitty Fisher deserves the Michelin star from Peter Luger!
My favorite London restaurant, serving the best wing rib I have ever had—flavorful and cooked to perfection. It came with crispy potatoes and mixed leaf salad. The crispy potatoes (thin layers of potatoes, pressed and fried) are a must-try; we loved them so much we ordered them twice!
We enjoyed a dinner on the counter—fantastic service in a cosy bar. The table was not too close, but if the seated might feel a little tighter, the counter was great, if not tight for two. The food was good, and the wine was excellent. Some dishes are better than others—a solid option for date night or a catch-up. The wine list was well-curated, and good options at all price points by the glass. We skipped dessert.
Service: The staff was incredibly attentive, proactive, and showed great attention to detail. They were prompt and went the extra mile to ensure our needs were met. Food: The flavor of the wing rib was delightful, with a taste that was quite impressive. However, we ordered it medium rare but it was slightly overcooked, and the crispy potato were a bit too greasy. Environment: The restaurant has a two-tiered setup, with the lower level offering a more serene and peaceful dining experience, allowing for a more relaxing meal. Overall, the experience was positive, with standout service and impressive flavors, though there were minor issues with the cooking and greasiness of certain items. The atmosphere of the lower level provided a quieter and more enjoyable ambiance.
Outstanding service from Matilda and all other team members, really personal - not intrusive at all and a genuine show of care. It makes the World of difference especially in London. Very very impressed as my first time eating here, I will be back. And the food was excellent too!
Small place with lots of charm and unbeatable service :)
Food and service were outstanding, even though we were late for our time, our host made sure we didn t miss out booking and found alternative arrangements to accommodate us. I would highly recommend Kitty Fisher s
Kitty Fishers is the PERFECT place to hold a cozy dinner - a wonderful room, ideally suited for perhaps as many as 12 (?) We were nine and I thought the room was ideal. Food was well thought out and it was the perfect option for our wanting a family type environment, but no one happening to have a large oval dining table, complete with candles, amusing old paintings and your grans silverware laid out. At first the specter of a significant room reservation seemed daunting, until I recognized that it was basically the cost of eight people for dinner. So it was an easy peasy decision. You cannot go wrong with this place!
The steak was surprisingly delicious. The waiters service is very professional.
We absolutely love this restaurant. Every time we visit from Chicago we make sure to dine here. The menu is always focused, seasonal, and delicious. The service is world class and the ambiance is pure old school British. Highly recommend.
Had a late lunch here today for my mums 80th birthday. It was fantastic, staff, service and food, absolutely great! Thank you!
Am amazing experience and the food was delicious. Ales was wonderful. We came upon Kitty Fishers by accident and are so very glad we did!!
Amazing!!! I really recommend!
When you find a gem! A big thank you to Alex, Radi and Michaela (I really hope I spell your names correctly) Your service made us both glow with warmth. Went into Kitty s for dinner and drinks. Me and my partner are both vegetarians and thought we might not have much to rave about. We were wrong. This is the best dinner I remember having in London in a long time. To start with we were sat in a romantic little corner next to an 18th century bakers oven. The music was so right for the venue and the vibe was instantly this should be good . Try the tomato salad with chive oil for starter and the grey oyster mushroom carpaccio. We both had the lion s mane for our main and were melting in our seats by this point. Try all of the sides - but definitely do not miss the potatoes. Dessert was classy and just the right amount - Eton mess and chocolate with cherries and honeycomb. 5 stars for Kitty. Also, a Wikipedia search of who she was, was a fun after thought. Here s to Miss Fisher and her continued success on London s social scene! Vegetarian options: There was one main that was vegetarian and it was delicious.
Great food, great service, professionals with a smile. The acoustics arent the best. The food was spot on other than the cakes(both the chocolate and the strawberry&pistachio) that were both nearly bone dry. We had the guinea fowl, red meat, welsh rerabit and a perfect pea soup. Food : 5/5
One of my favorites in London! This is my first time dining in this restaurant but I always wanted to try. It didnt let me down as everything is good there. The vibe, the staff, the food, the drinks. I am 100% sure that I will go there again and again. Food
Small, charming find that delivered a very enjoyable dining experience. The food was very tasty and well prepared. Highly recommended and will definitely return.
Great little restaurant and brilliant food and wine
Some of the restaurants have really good food, and its worth trying a delicious steak. Friends, remember to make a reservation, but if you cancel your reservation, you will be charged 25 pounds per person!
Ultimately was expensive for underwhelming food. Our visit was in the week running up to Christmas. I tried reviewing near the time but reviews had been disabled at that point. First , The good points : great location in old mayfair marketplace. We were offered a choice of tables on either ground or downstairs level . We chose downstairs as this was the cosier spot. Lighting was just right , and decor the right kind of slightly bohemian / georgian old world vibe . In short just the sort spot my wife likes which was good because this was for her birthday . Staff were friendly and attentive . So far so good. Starters we had were good . I enjoyed the chicken liver pate which came with fine crispbread .Really tasty. My wife had something small , it could have been toasted bread with something on top which was nothing special but really ok . Unfortunately it went a little downhill from there . Not in a careening, wheels flying off out of control kind of way . More of a slow picking up of speed , hitting a couple of bumps and veering a little into the sidings before coming to a slightly premature stop. To explain : first little niggle a couple of the mains they had run out of . As the menu choice was quite limited ( around 5 mains options) this shortened the options further . Surprising too as our table was at 7:45pm , not at later stage of the evening when you might expect the kitchen to run low on some popular dishes. My wife is not really a steak person but as other options not really doing it for her we ended up ordering the cote du boeuf which came with roasted potato and mixed leaf salad . We ordered a bottle of the house red . The wine was brought to our table - second niggle. It came ready decanted into a carafe . That was odd as wed ordered and were charged for a bottle . It also looked less than 750ml. I raised it with the waiter. I was told that was how they served the house red and the implication was that it came out of a larger container hence the decanting. Never had that before but I left it , didnt want to make a scene . The more disappointing event though was the main course. The beef , requested medium rare , was lacking the succulence of a good cut of beef and had a high proportion of fat . It really wasnt great , and at £85 for 2 we really expected alot better . The potato roasties were a bit too crunchy and greasy but interesting . The salad leaves were fine. When asked by our waiter if everything was OK, I did mentioned that I thought the beef was too heavy on the fat . I was told that this is how the chef liked to cook and serve the meat . We didnt really feel up for pudding after this which was a shame. Oh well Kitty , I guess its all about the allure of the surface isnt it.
Great service and delicious food. The steak is a must eat!
It was my third visits since 2 years before and tbh, you knew the food wasnt as good as it was. Staffs were still helpful with everything, a warm place to visit but the food quality, especially the belted galloway, they taste like a 6/10. I am not a professional foodie so I am not qualified to tell people how it should be cooked but this will not be my recommand steak house and I used to tell eveyone Kitty Fisher worths its price. The crispy potatoes are still top tier(10/10) but hard to convince me coming back just for a side.
Celebrating my wifes birthday, the starter liver patte and the signature beef dish are delicious. Wonderful evening with gourmet food.
Such a lovely restaurant in Mayfair, they don t have a lot of seat, so I suggest you book in advance
Such a lovely place with the belted galloway Service, food, wine was honestly amazing! My boyfriend accidentally spilled wine but they were so extremely kind enough to offer a new glass to us it was my second visit, couldn t appreciate it more and will definitely come back again! Thank you team
This hotel duck breast dish is too good I like and love it Vegetarian options: Yes, large options for vegetarians Food : 5/5 |
Excellent meal at Kitty Fishers after work. We went for the steak for two which was more than a meal for us both!! Another gem in the Shepherds Market crown!
Loved everything about this restaurant.
Food was amazing, service and ambience was equally great
The food here is excellent and the vibes cosy. Beyond that though, probably the best service i have ever experienced in our fair city. Hats off to all the staff of Kitty Fishers I recommend the crab appetiser!
Unbelievable
Must try restaurant
Fantastic cozy Mayfair restaurant nice dinner settings and food is 10.10. Must try the wing rib.
good traditional English restaurant revisited
Still amazing year after year!
Still dreaming about the wing rib I ate here - absolutely delicious and from the fact nearly everyone else ordered it who was there too, its clearly a signature dish. Perfect for a romantic evening and exemplary service.
Wonderful The most interesting is even you studied hard their menu by searching on internet, you will be surprised as they revise their menu from time to time. Recommended dishes
Lovely restaurant in a cosy and intimate setting. Staff were great and the food was amazing. Will be back!
Good atmosphere, very attentive staff, great steak!
Crazy delicious and excellent service even sitted late
Overall the food and services were good. Note that belted Galloway wing ribs is not on the menu anymore so if that s what you re after then you might get disappointed.
Fantastic meal!
British food is pretty average and expensive
A very cute restaurant on Sheperds market. Great food, greats staff, lovely atmosphere. The steak was incredible, as was everything.
We dined at Kitty Fishers Mayfair on our recent holiday in London. It was such a treat! The food was delicious and beautiful, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The service was excellent. A great spot for an intimate dinner.
Brilliant little restaurant. Very cool.
I tried English cuisine in this very nice and welcoming place. We made a selection of starters which we especially liked the pork belly, as a main course the chateaubriand very tender and tasty meat and the braised lamb... very good!! Excellent service, staff available to explain dishes we didnt know. Highly recommended.
It felt like the person serving us hovered around the table from 9:40pm onwards. I understand that its not ideal to have customers beyond a certain time, but there are more discrete ways to politely ask us to leave. You can simply let us know discretely, and well behave accordingly, no need to stand right behind us. Also, it was expensive for what we got. The main dish was good, I had the lamb, and the beetroot starter was the best. The crab starter tasted like tuna from a tin, with a layer of gelatine on top. I didnt like it, even though it was the most expensive starter. House wine was very basic - fair enough. Potatoes are good, but I wouldnt go just for those. Very nice cosy room downstairs, shame the rest wasnt as good.
Remains one of Londons best restaurants. Service, food, ambiance and wine all superb. Cosy and delicious.
The £80 steak is tasteless and chewy like rubber. The restaurant is small and tables are close to each other, so it feels very crowded and noisy. Staffs are friendly even they are very busy.
A real experience with fantastic service. The food is wonderful with some great wines to choose from. The setting in Shepherd Market is brilliant and Kitty Fishers has the best character. Thank you for a brilliant evening x.
Friendly staff, was supposed to sit outside but heavy rain so they quickly arranged an indoor table for us. Informed them we have a pram with us and they also arranged to a place to store the chassis! Tho the place is small but very decent. The food is great!
The starter crab toast was soooo delicious! Thanks for the recommendation. The main dish Wing Ribs and Crispy Potatoes were amazing. Worth trying! As we celebrated our anniversary there, the restaurant gave us 2 chocolates as special gift, which was really good and surprised!
a very enjoyable dining experience, thank you
Such a lovely discovery! It was amazing dinner at Kitty Fisher s !
The drinks and starters were good. However for the main dish, there were lots of tenders in the rib, which was difficult to chew and disappointed me on the taste of belted galloway beef.
The steak was good. 4 out of 5. The service was excellent and staff very friendly. But the deserts were really average. Hence why I deducted a star. They charged us £10 for a tiny chocolate mouse with a scoop of ice-cream and some flaked nuts on top. Very small and no effort whatsoever. Its worth £5 in my opinion. I did make a comment about how small it was to the person who seemed to be the manager/maitre d, but it wasnt actioned. It was nice but I will not be returning. Its expensive and I believe other restaurants offer better value.
Must try their steak and potato chips (come with their wing rib steak!)
Phenomenal restaurant in a wonderful part of London! Edward went out of his way to make our evening perfect. We will definitely be coming back!
very delicious!
Halloway Steak is so good
A very pleasant intimate restaurant, impressed by both staff and food.
Nice venue and staff but food was a bit of a let-down. I ordered plaice for a main which hadnt been cleaned properly and had something very grainy (sand?) in it. I love artichoke but the whole artichoke starter was a bit too tough texturally and quite bland.
This is the perfect place for a romantic dinner in the heart of London. The atmosphere is nice and calm inside, you feel very welcome and the service is extraordinary. There are also some places outside, but we preferred to book a table inside. The menu is small, which is absolutely not an issue, because it is very well set up and the dishes are perfectly combined and arranged. The price is indeed a bit higher, however, absolutely worth and representative for the good quality of the food. We will definitely come back and highly recommend to visit Kitty Fishers for a special occasion.
This was my best meal in London. The Crispy Potato is a must-try item, as well as the Wing rib & the pork dish.
Absolutely fantastic food and service was brilliant. Sat outside on a beautiful day and it was very quaint. The asparagus and artichoke starters were amazing, and we actually forgot that we ordered the crispy potatoes after our mains came, but they were delicious! And the wine didn t disappoint! It makes for a romantic, date spot, but is also just a reliable spot for a fantastic meal. Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian starter options and a good, grain based, flavourful main
Excellent food, drinks and atmosphere!!
A culinary experience at a higher level than the price would suggest! Recommend the lunch. Cozy local too - worth the trip.
This is a very popular restaurant, and I have to say: Its by far the BEST STEAK I have tried for my whole life. The meat is tender, juicy and right on spot. And the fried potato is layered with crispiness and softness. Everything is very flavourful and very very lovely. I don t usually leave comment on google map, but this literally give my a big surprise!
The service was brilliant, and the artichoke and pea soup was delicious. The main course for vegan and veggies was OK, but probably not worth the price.
I love this restaurant. Always have a Bad Kitty to start, enjoy some of the best steak in London, and gorge on the irresistibly good potatoes - washed down with wine. Food
Great! Although that does not some up the experience. It was fantastic, the food was beyond reproach and the staff were amazing.
The wing rib was well worth it, crispy potatoes amazing, service super friendly and nice as well
First thing first, POOREST SERVICE I HAVE SEEN IN UK. The male server is extremely ruthless and forced you to order starters. it takes a long time for server to notice you and help with your order although there are only 4 tables. The wing rib which is the signature of the restaurant. The quality of meat is great, however it is Extremely greasy and the seasoning is not good enough. The wing rib seems tasteless and I have to add salt and pepper. Moreover, the table has black insects which is really annoying. Overall, its service and food cannot represent the price of its product. Qianqi doesn t want to listen to KOL s words, so she eats too much First of all, the waiter service is terrible and they won t take the initiative to help you place your order. This is the worst restaurant service in the UK When you are alone, Zhong will challenge you and call you Shaoye. (Maybe because there are many Hong Kong people coming to eat ) Wing rib is very greasy, so no salt is needed It s not the same taste that Asians accept Not bad for a wild drink Shiye Zhang Taizhong wants a black insect to come to Li. Overall. Wing rib, the environment and service are not worth the price. (120 lbs) No driving test
A small and packed restaurant with a great rustic ambience. The service is warm but not overbearing. The steak is a must-try. Succulent and juicy, each bite is packed with richness and flavour, practically melting in the mouth and coating the palate with luxury.
We were sat outside in Shepherd s Market on a balmy summer s evening so we were off to a good start. The waitress was brilliant from start to finish and the food was amazing. It was a special occasion so we pushed the boat out a little and consequently had to take some of our chateaubriand home. I still managed to squeeze in a dessert though. The wine list was interesting and catered for mist budgets. I particularly like the qua of wines offered by the glass or carafe making it a pleasure to choose a variety of wines to match the food. Altogether a most enjoyable evening
Crispy potato is very special dish I ever tried and I love it.
Delicious with great attention to detail! Nice staff!
A total gem. Small menu but the food was superb, with delightfully friendly staff and a great atmosphere.
The only thing we want to try is the Galloway wing rib, quite expensive but worth the money!
Visiting from the US and simply put, it was excellent! The corn soup was perhaps the best I ve experienced. The green leaf salad was simple and fresh which is what we wanted. The beef brisket was exceptional. Will return to try other dishes people around me complemented. The service was professional, accommodating and friendly.
From the beginning to the end of the evening, everything was pleasant. The welcome, the attention. Delicious, accurate and perfectly executed dishes. Simply pleasure. Thank you for this welcome
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The service is superb. The food was beautiful and the restaurant itself is a delight: warm and intimate. Would recommend the tartare, parfait and the wing rib without hesitation. Food
The belted Galloway wing rib is the best steak I ever had, fantastic meat that is perfectly prepared. The layered texture of the accompanying crispy potato is a welcomed surprise. Impeccable service. The price tag is high but worth it. Can t go wrong to dine here on special occasions.
delicious steak and friendly service, place is cosy, love the vibe
Good, simple quality food! They ran out of the fish soup when we d gotten there around 7pm on a Saturday which wasn t great. The Welsh rarebit was lovely, streak was massive and tasted nice but personally I think it needed more butter or sauce of some sort. Potatoes were unreal! Lovely atmosphere with only a few tables
We went on the recommendation of some friends looking for more traditional British cuisine and we were right. We ordered the chicken liver parfait, smoked trout and broccoli for starters and the Highland wing rib to share. Plus bread and butter. Of all the offerings, the trout disappointed us a little, a small portion and without much flavor, and the meat, recommended by the maitre d, was quite average. The sourdough bread and manteauilla are incredible. I would still recommend Kitty Fisher s. It is in a very charming location, the interior of the place is very special. Ideal for a tribute lunch or dinner.
I had the pleasure of dining at Katy Fishers in the Shepherds Market, London, and it was an absolute culinary delight! My choice was the T-Bone steak, and let me tell you, it was cooked to perfection. As a Texan from Houston, I have high standards for beef, and Katy Fishers exceeded them. The portion size and the quality of the beef were both exceptional. One piece of advice: make sure to make reservations in advance because this place is in high demand for a reason. The experience was truly memorable, and I cant wait to return to Katy Fishers for another incredible meal.
A wonderful little place! The food was great, everything was great! One of the best spots in London, definitely recommend if youre in London for a vacation.
The food and services at Kitty Fisher s are amazing:) We have the chicken liver as starter and beef ribs for our main which is definitely enough for two to share. The crispy potatoes are surprisingly nice! Highly recommended!! Food
The restaurant not to be missed in London!!! Excellent service and cuisine! We had a great time.
Good food, good location, and some hilarious gossip to be overheard on a weekday lunchtime! Kid-friendliness: Please dont bring children here. Unsuitable.
Just lovely - small cozy and charming. The staff are like family having you over for dinner. Only 4 tables in the main dining area it s quite a treat. Lots of other areas to go after for another drink. A just go!
Great T-bone steak to share with Welsh rarebit to start. Crispy potatoes were very good. Upstairs seating definitely better than downstairs in my opinion. Would have preferred a greater variety of sauces to be available with the steak
Welcoming
Love this cozy Michelin-guide steakhouse which is conveniently located in Mayfair. Their Chateaubriand with rosemary and sage butter was so so good. It also came with the amazing crispy potatoes and mixed leaf salad. As for starters, I s recommend the chicken liver parfait. Tip: get a table downstairs! Taste: Value for Money: 1/2 Ambience: Will I go again? Yes (on a scale of 0-5 emojis)
Beautiful restaurant in romantic Shepherds Market. Outstanding food and great service. Really recommend. Great date location or girlie catch up.
overall: MUST order the steak & crispy potatoes (looks expensive but can definitely feed 2 easily). small classy restaurants with beautiful decor & attentive service. cromer crab & toast : nothing fancy about the toast, hence highlight the dip. extremely addicting blend of flavours - salty, delicate & a sweet aftertaste. would recommend sharing as quite filling with the bread. belted galloway cote de boeuf - sexy piece of steak. cooked beautifully to pink without blood, seared perfectly to lock the juice inside, keeping the meat tender inside. the tarragon & green pepper butter gives the steak just enough flavour, preventing adding sauces on top that may cover up the beefy feel. crispy potatoes : the much look forward side dish, which indeed met my expectations. the multiple layers gives extra crunch & is seasoned with the right about if salt. watercress salad : average but serves the purpose of removing greasiness of steak (not saying the steak is greasy but it gets a tab bit oily since it s a hefty piece of rib steak) clementine jelly : the 3 components of the dessert don t blend well. the bitter citrusy flavour of the jelly is very unique & doesn t taste like artificial flavouring at all. but the shortbread is not crumbly enough. eggnog fudge : way too sweet, could barely finish half a piece (just not a great fan of fudge )
cozy, tasty, relax
Great little restaurant in the shepherds market, I ve tried to get a table for a special day for a couple of years now but it always seems to be fully booked. Very friendly team and the food was very well cooked with Top quality ingredients. We also enjoyed some very nice wines and dessert, well worth a visit, we will be back.
Wonderful food, and very kind service. I would give 5*, if it weren t for the crowded space and having to wear my jacket during lunch (was chilly in there). The food is extremely well cooked and the service attentive!
Delicious, great service and fairly priced
Wonderful food and cool service from a lovely team
I love this place. It is very cosy (lovely staff and very quite compared to bigger/busier places) and the food is AMAZING! And lets not forget the delicious cocktails (the bartender is very gifted). I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.
The best British restaurant I have ever visited in London. The food is excellent, must try the Belted Galloway rib and the crispy potatoes. Their service is great as well, the staff were very friendly and caring. And they gave us chocolate truffles as gift for our anniversary. Highly recommended!
Consistently excellent.
amazing Belted Galloway steak (one of the best steak i have ever had! super tender and juicy with appropriate amount of herbs, even the fat part was nicely handled, not very oily and melts in your mouth. Roasted potatoes are very good too, crispy exterior and spongy potatoes inside Very nice services and reasonable prices
Michaela, the best waitress! . Thank you!!
Service is good. Food quality is excellent. Small restaurant and quiet. You can book table before arrived.
Delicious food, very kind and efficient service, very generous servings I ll come back!
I was lucky to find this place to try their Belted Galloway Wing Rib and it took me to the next level. That I have tasted beef like this good for the first time.
Underwhelming and overpriced. The chateaubriand was way too rare and for 100£ not worth it. The salad was bland, like it had no dressing at all, very watery. They only serve 1 type of beer, and the club music doesnt make sense in a romantic place like this. Will not go back.
I really hesitated about writing a review of this restaurant. I dont want it to be discovered! Its a tiny place, obviously an old pub, so you need to make sure you have a reservation. Modern British does not describe cuisine adequately. Very imaginative menu and preparation.
Food is truly knockout. Chicken liver pate was life-changing and crispy potatoes were outstanding x
We went for my 40ths. Place is very sweet . Super cute downstairs. Food was duper yummy . Service was friendly but it took an hour to get our mains, I wasnt as hungry when my fish came anymore . Location is great too.
Had radish w/ crackers and their special Galloway beef. The restaurant s interior is neat, packed and decorated with dim light. Wine pairing suggestion was good. Crackers were tasty. But did Galloway beef tastes better than the mainstream Angus beef to justify its price? Well I can t taste the superiority in its flavour but it s nonetheless a good experience.
Great location, very slow service, fish could have been offered off the bone, cocktail French was awful, regrettably not fair value.
Great place to eat. Lively and fun.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone at the restaurant who made it such an enjoyable dinner for us. It was a celebration for my graduation and the people at the restaurant made me feel so welcomed. I ordered their belted galloway wing rib with potatoes - the food was amazing. Thanks for the treat!!
Splendid place. I loved the atmosphere of Shepherds Market and Kitty Fishers fits in beautifully. Delicious food throughout, for appetisers I sampled the Sea Trout with pickles and the family tried the Parfait. Both delicate and well presented. Mains we shared the beef wing and Sole. Again, full of flavour. Service was fantastic, with friendly informative service. Well treated for my Birthday with various treats. Would highly recommend to any foody . 5*. My kind of place.
Good service and delicious!
First meal in London, we were really disappointed by the Belted Galloway T-bone. We asked for medium-rare, but the fillet was well-done and the strip was medium-well. The steak was under seasoned, and there wasn t much parsley sauce on it. The steak was tough and very lean. Not even comparable to Angus let alone Prime. The ambiance was great tho.
A charming institution run by lovely folks!
Thank you for an amazing evening! We came for our anniversary and it was absolutely amazing! The service was impeccable, thank you! Also the beef and potatoes - I ve not tasted anything like it in my life! We will certainly return! After a very difficult weekend, thank you for making a fuss of us! Wish we would have found you earlier!
We had a lovely time celebrating a graduation at Kitty Fishers. We arrived well in advance of our reservation time and were pleasantly welcomed and seated almost immediately nonetheless. Our table was in the downstairs area, which was very tastefully decorated, creating a great, relaxed and cozy atmosphere. The food was absolutely excellent, as was the service. The manager come to offer a personal word of congratulation - a wonderful touch! Thank you for a lovely evening. We will certainly be back!
lovely place. Excellent service and foods are delicious. The Belted Galloway Wing ribs is the must try. Very distinctive flavour of steak.
Beautifully cooked Belted Galloway wing rib steak. The crispy potatoes is a must to try!
Quite disappointed overall. The main dish £80 belted galloways wing ribs is the truly tasteless steak I have ever tried. It tasted like rubber with little salt and lemon sauce. Terrible seasoning and overpriced. I would much more enjoy the £4.9 aberdeen ribs from ALDI than this one, not to mention the Waitroses Cote de Boeuf or USDA Prime. For the crispy potatoes, u better grab it from McDonalds. The salad is washed & ready to eat level from super. However, the starters do have some rich tastes. Staff are very helpful, polite and welcoming. Other than that, everything is fair. I really dobut the star from MICHELIN. bob
Been here twice, once with my boyfriend and the other with my parents. Both times to celebrate birthdays and it was great! The service was brilliant and the food was great too. Had the Galloway beef both times as we couldnt resist it!
A delightful, cozy, Georgian style restaurant in Mayfair with a modern British menu. Kitty Fisher was an 18th century courtesan who lived In Shepherd Market. You can read about on the postcard supplied with the bill. There are both indoor and some covered outdoor seating available as well as a downstairs dining area. My pork belly was delicious and it was sweet to see the owners are people as well as pet friendly !
Very warm atmosphere friendly hospitality and nice music ! Remember to reserve in advance!!
Really enjoyable food selection and a great selection of cocktails too.
[Edited] 2nd visit: Impressions of the first visit have been mostly confirmed. Starters are very driven by British cuisine. The chicken liver parfait was good and the beetroot was well prepared. We shared a large steak with crunchy potatoes and salad. Nothing wrong with this dish but not particularly impressed either. The desserts were quite small and not ideal to share. 1st visit: Simple yet delicious British food with some European varieties The restaurant has two small rooms on the ground and lower level plus a terrace. The place really feels like it has been here for a long time! Choice on the menu is limited and so is the availability of some options (the lamb speciality sounded delicious and was sold out when we came). Everything was very fresh and the porc chops we had were perfectly cooked with an aromatic jus and vegetables. Dont go here to get your mind blown away by some fancy cuisine. Come if you want to have a nice dinner, eat well and drink good wine without much complexity. Definitely a place Id recommend!
Great service from a middle-aged lady with glasses. Had our dinner here in April, amazing!
It was a great experience at Kitty Fishers today. The quality of the food was superb and the price fair. If I had one criticism, it would be that our steak was medium to well, rather than medium rare. It is a lovely cut that is used and I know it would have been simply sublime if it was cooked as stated. In saying that, the steak was still delicious, the staff were amazing and the venue was quirky and rustic. I highly recommend a visit!!
Genuinely one of the best dining experiences we have had in London. Decided to go as a week night treat for my boyfriends birthday and we were made feel so welcome the whole way through (even down to one of the chef s bringing out some venison for our dog who was under the table!). The food was delicious and we felt so well looked after by all of the staff- nothing was too much trouble. While obviously the price is on the higher side, for a special occasion this is completely worth it and I didn t begrudge a single penny- in fact I felt the service was if anything undercharged for!
Excellent service, atmosphere and food!
Kitty Fisher is a popular spot in Mayfair. It is a small restaurant so definitely recommend booking in advanced. We sat outside which had nice heating system with blankets offered. The wine selection was really good and the food overall was good. Steak was well cooked and lamb delicious. Highlight of the meal has to be the potatoes though! Really nice atmosphere and super friendly staff.
Simply put, Kitty Fishers is one of my favourite places to lunch in London. The food is always excellent - high quality ingredients cooked simply and elegantly. Ive never had a disappointing dish here. Their crispy potatoes are the most sublime reincarnation of the humble spud. The atmosphere is cosy and intimate. However, its the service that keeps me coming back. Edward is one of those rare breeds who are clearly made to be in hospitality. Not only friendly and attentive, but also extremely intuitive. He made not only us feel special, but every other table in the restaurant as well! I will be a return customer as long as their doors are open.
Amazing English food. We had a few of their appetizers and they were simply delicious. I would highly recommend their soup appetizer and the chicken liver appetizer.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kitty Fishers, and I have to say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the charming atmosphere and friendly staff. The decor was chic and stylish, with a cozy and inviting feel. As for the food, it was nothing short of extraordinary. I ordered the steak, which was cooked to perfection. The flavours were bold and distinct, and each bite was a true pleasure. The only downside was that I had to pay for bread, which is usually complementary in other restaurants. Do take in mind that the dishes are definitely on the pricier side, but I overall had a fantastic experience at Kitty Fishers and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience.
Excellent service and great food.
Can t wait to return. Great food and service. Perfect central London location.
Small intimate restaurant with lovely atmosphere. Fabulous food and extrenely pleasant and helpful staff.
Lovely Place!
Bag was stolen please be careful
Great service. Food nice - I even tried a pickled fish fillet!
We came by for lunch early on a Saturday and KF was sensational. Welcoming service, friendly and helpful and the food was tremendous. The artichoke was delicious with a dipping sauce. I had the pickled mackerel which was sharp and savoury. The sole for main was divine delicate and flavorful. One of the very best meals we ve had in London for years. We ll be back!
Gorgeous food and lovely decor.
The staff were really inviting and put a smile on our faces. As for the food, their lamb was incredible and served with great seasonal vegetables.
Great food and wine, excellent service, cosy atmosphere, highly recommended..
A gem in Mayfair. Everything was delicious and the smoke eel outstanding. Will definitely return!
A nice small restaurant in Shepherds Market. Food was indeniably amazing.
Most restaurants in this category offer excellent food, but this was a cut above. Imaginative and interesting the whole way through, it was also perfectly portioned such that we did not feel bloated at any point.
Great customer service. Felt very welcome by staff. Most of all the food was delicious & I will definitely come again.
These appetizers were quite small, but all tasted excellent. Great service.
Food was really nice , maybe a little on the over-seasoned side... but MAN that bathroom Needs to be sorted.... mold mold mold mold everywhere... gross
Outstanding food.
very good
Its all.about the experience for me. Having a great time serves to underpin that sense of value, and Kittys delivers in spades. Setting aside a stellar wine selection that looks after itself, your best bet is to arrive as a squad and simply order EVERYTHING. Then the fun part is working out what you like the most. There really is no weak link. As far as I know one of the three proprietors are always heading up service, so maybe thats the secret? Book with confidence.
Great service, food, wine and you can sit outside
Lovely atmosphere. Great food. Staff there were wonderful. Just brilliant service.
Great experience from start to finish. The food was amazing, the crispy potatoes especially! The staff were helpful and good fun. Will definitely be back!
If you happen to wonder into this cheap part of Mayfair and turn down into Shephards Market, you might see this place and not think much of it: a bar, right? Well, yes but also a big, big no. Because the action is downstairs (in what I understand is one of the smallest kitchens in London). In the basement, there are some 20 covers but also an inspired team that can cook up a storm. Also ask them for what wine they have in their hole in the wall: they have a rare wines list that is quite something, and it is reasonably priced. So for a meal steps away from Berkeley Square but with none of its pretentiousness, come here! You will not regret it!
Service was faultless - friendly, welcoming, attentive, everything you could want! Atmosphere downstairs is really great - classy and cosy with an intimate space that s been well put together. Food is modern British - using good ingredients and simply cooking them very well. For us though whilst everything was cooked well, for just more than £200 for two of us (3 courses each, coffee and 1 alcohol drink each) the food didn t quite stand out enough - you want those moments of tasting the first bite of something and looking at each other to say just with your eyes this is an amazing find! , and then dreaming of that bite for months to come, and whilst everything was well done it just didn t reach that level. Ultimately there are restaurants in London in the same price band where the flavours just sing a bit more or they re doing something a bit more creative etc. In pretty much any other city in the Uk this would be the best restaurant around, but this just shows how competitive/great the London food scene is. Top notch service and atmosphere make me give this 4 stars here, but purely on food (taking into account price) probably would have been 3.5. Think hayler nailed it with a 14/20
Cute little restaurant with a great atmosphere. The food, wine and cocktails were delicious. The Bad kitty cocktail was the perfect way to kick-start the meal and the wing rib for sharing was cooked to perfection.
Food is modern British, using good ingredients and simply cooking them.
Great atmosphere and service. Delicious food with fresh local ingredients. Definitely recommend.
Went for a weeknight dinner for two just before another covid restriction hit. Booked a table pretty easily online for an early sitting. Ask to sit in the downstairs area otherwise youll have people walking past you upstairs all the time. The food though is a knock out, modern British with a continental flair. Had the sole topped with mussels and the enormous wing rib with anchovy coupled with some wine. We were too full for dessert! Friendly and unintrusive service too.
