This is an inventive yet unfussy, seasonal British & European dishes in relaxed surroundings.
My friend and I stopped by for a later lunch on afternoon before catching a concert at Royal Albert Hall. The food at Lorne is outstanding. The service was friendly and down to earth. Our server really helped guide us to what we would enjoy from starters to a sweet dessert. We shared some fritters before I enjoyed soup and main. The caramel pecan dessert was a perfeect way to end our experience. The dining room is quaint and personable which allowed for the focus to be on the food and your company, the way it should be! I definitely recommend securing a reservation to enjoy an outstanding meal at Lorne.
We managed to grab a last minute table here last night, despite missing last orders when the lovely staff accepted an order over the phone. Very glad we made it. We only had a main course each (Duck with Tuscan potatoes and greens) with some lovely wine (very reasonably priced wine list, by the way!) and enjoyed fantastic service. Thank you so much to the team and sorry we couldn't remember your names, despite asking on the way out - that would be the fault of the wine tasting we attended prior! Can't wait to return again for a 3 course meal.
AMAZING food! The food was delicious. Every single bite we had we liked. We tried a lot of different appetizers, mains, and desserts and we enjoyed it all. It had so much flavor and depth. They were smaller portions but they were very good and worth the prices. The service was also wonderful. They came by frequently to make sure we had everything we wanted/needed. They made suggestions if we asked and even chitchatted a bit which was nice to have. The atmosphere was cozy and quiet. It was perfect for the type of evening we wanted. Beautifully decorated restaurant and felt perfect for a modern British meal. Highly recommend for dinner any time, but make sure to make reservations!
Cute small restaurant near Victoria station. Very quiet on a Friday at lunch time. The service is very friendly and professional. However, I would have liked to see a lunch menu during the weekday that’s more affordable. I felt it was quite pricey for the quantity offered and what you find in other places in London. I would go back if the price was adjusted
The kind of restaurant I love with a great balance between attentiveness and a casual atmosphere. Really tasty food and a great value set menu means this is definitely one I’ll be returning to. Particular highlight was the Chocolate Cremeux dessert. The location near Victoria means it’s very convenient to get to as well.
Fantastic find, delicious and beautifully presented food and the service was brilliant. The owner served us and was really friendly too. Had the 3 course set menu at £43 and couldn't recommend it more. Simple bread with a stunning olive oil was also served to start. We were recommended the in house aperitif cocktail that was also superb. In fact we had two of them!
My second time visiting Lorne and both times did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is airy and light with a minimalistic setting. The service is impeccable and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The menu is curated very thoughtfully and each dish we tried had its own experience. The stand out dish in my opinion had to be the sea bream tartare (wow!). Highly recommend this gem in Victoria.
First time visiting this restaurant and saw many repeated customers. Obviously, everyone misses them while the restaurant was closed for three months because of a flood. All the staffs are friendly and nice. I especially enjoyed the starter of smoked haddock and dessert made of coconut, pineapple, lime and lemon grass. All the dishes are with great flavours and nice presentation. A very nice place for dinner.
Lovely small restaurant. Delicious food and great service. Attentive, but not too much so! Good wine selection for a small place.
Lorne is an absolute gem of a restaurant! The quality of the ingredients and cooking are the likes of what you would find in a Michelin star restaurant, with staff who are friendly and attentive. I ll most certainly be back.
Really lovely meal. Great service, simple but delicious food.
Delicious starters, pork belly main was elegant. Skate with beans main- the beans were undercooked so left behind, unfortunately the few that were eaten caused stomach cramps later. The broth was very salty. Service warm and efficient Congenial and welcoming atmosphere Unfortunately the beans did cause an overall 3 star review- without the skate main the review would have been a solid 4-5 stars
Pleasant, friendly restaurant. Great wine list & the owner certainly knows her wines.
I really can t understand the many positive reviews here. The food is merely mediocre. In principle, very simple dishes are sold at very high prices (for example, £15 for two small pieces of artichoke with ricotta as a starter). The portions are also very small, although the service is good.
Excellent food, fun for a group dinner with a cosy atmosphere.
El & the team were so wonderful throughout. Excellent descriptions on all the wines & the lovely menu which was enhanced with El s passion for all things Lorne & rightly so .. other friends frequently visit & are always positive & delighted with the offering. This is a gem in Pimlico .. don t miss it .
Loved Lorne. Wish wed found it years ago. Excellent service and delicious food, especially the duck, very well presented. It is a cute, small restaurant but as a result rather loud fellow diners can spoil your enjoyment.
During my stay in London I decided to try the restaurant recommended by the Michelin guide..... it said that they changed the dishes according to the season. The place is cozy, and to my surprise I was served by a good and professional waitress like Julia who spoke perfect Spanish.... my disappointment was the dishes, flat and meaningless flavors, the dessert was quite good mango mousse. The excessive price 130 pounds
Genuinely the best x
Delicious food
Hidden gem of a restaurant in an area where good food is hard to find.
Amazing food very good service and very nice atmosphere. Highly recommend will visit soon again.
Best in the region!
Food was great and desserts were absolutely exceptional! The choux with pistachio cream and chocolate sauce was exquisite. Excellent Service, very professional and attentive without being overwhelming. A great place- highly recommended.
My go to after a long week. Superb service, stellar wine list and excellent food.
Brilliant detailing and delectable food. Would recommend going for a starter as well. Neat place in the side of victoria
Outstanding! Not cheap but I thought the food was special here. Service excellent as well.
Absolutely delicious and fantastic value for the set menu. Really lovely experience.
First of all to their credit, the staff are friendly and the quality of food is high, however the way in which the food is cooked is poor. It looks great in instagram photos but is lacking in taste and has poor texture. The lighting and seats look nice but dont do their job adequately. The portions arent filling enough to be a standalone dinner yet there isnt enough fan fare for it to be an experience. In all areas other than wait staff this fails. Just go next door. It could be nice but theres too many things wrong. At this price point service should be included in the cost of food, it feels cheap and frankly a bit rude that it isnt.
Food innovative and delicious. Good choice of wines. Excellent service and lovely atmosphere the seabrine tartare its an absolute must!
A hidden gem in Pimlico. It is very unassuming from the outside. Superb cooking and confident service. Very busy at lunch time.
Stumbled upon this gem and I can t believe I haven t heard of it before. Devine, the wine menu is exquisite, cannot recommend more.
Absolutely tasty food in this place
A wonderful evening for a special family event, delicious food and exemplary service in this gem of a restaurant.
Second visit to Lorne inside a fortnight - I enjoyed it that much. It is an intimate and charming restaurant in the barren (in restaurant terms) land near Victoria Station and its owner Katie Exton has created a lovely restaurant indeed. Great and interesting food, an exceptionally good wine list, and attentive and friendly service. Well worth a visit!
I came here Friday 23rd February evening with friends - service all round and food were notably excellent - couldnt fault it and will be back!
Food was ok, nothing to write home about. Service was slow, had to ask for the plate from my starter to be cleared when my main was delivered to the table - lacking the sides, which arrived 10 minutes later. 3 stars is generous for service here, after reading reviews I had good expectations but was quite disappointed - much better places to go and I won t return. Hope this helps your food choice especially if it is a special evening.
Nice space, especially with booths and kind servers. However, the food was definitely lacking. Sea bream tartare, which we were told was their specialty was indeed very good but it was downhill from there. No other dishes were anything special. It would have been okay if the portions were appropriately. For instance, the cod said it came with a side of winter tomatoes but what was on my plate were two slices of tomato made with a mandolin set to the thinnest possible notch. For these kinds of prices (£30+) this is unacceptable. Even after 4 courses and bread (that tasted like it was leftover from the day before) we left hungry. Seemed like a common thing because we overheard the table next to us talking about going to McDonalds on the way home! Overall this is definitely a place where youre paying for the location in Victoria, and not for the culinary experience. Will not be returning.
I ve eaten here many times and it just gets better and better. They manage to combine true high-level cooking in a relaxed, unfussy atmosphere. Last night s confit guinea fowl was especially memorable. As were the gnocchi. But you can stick a pin in the menu and choose something outstanding. Owner Katie and her team have a gem on their hands! I ve never left a lunch or dinner at Lorne and not been 100% satisfied.
The food gets ever better - and always a good evening. On every metric - its hard to find anything that could be improved upon.
Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the cod! Set menus are perfect for before a show. And our serve (a young gentleman) was lovely.
Fantastic food, great service. Don t look further. An absolute recommendation
Very good choice, very tasty food with very pleasant flavor combinations. We ordered wine by the glass
Food wasnt that wow but OK
Absolutely amazing food.
Beautiful food and service. We had a really relaxing evening here. Chicken oysters were full of flavour and moreish.
Amazing gem in the neighbourhood. Food was lovely and the short blonde hair staff was super fantastic! Made our Valentine s Day special.
Try the Duck !
Great find, excellent food, welcoming efficient staff Vegetarian options: I opted for two starters so that I d have room for pudding too. Food : 5/5 |
Absolutely delicious and beautifully served dishes. The atmosphere is perfect! I stroy recommend this place.
Sensational food!
Nice restaurant not far from Victoria. The wine list is very diverse and well selected. The service is competent and can provide good advice in every situation. Also for allergens or special intolerances. The cuisine is excellent. Creative with influences from all over the world. The fish (cod) was fried perfectly. All in all at a fair price-performance ratio. Eating out and drinking wine is still fun here!
a lovely, delicious place, with incredible food & the nicest of staff. they were very kind to parents and babies alike thank you
Really fabulous food, nice cosy atmosphere and staff who were friendly and engaged. Highly recommended.
Food was tasty and well presented. The restaurant was dimly lit and cosy, ideal for a romantic meal. Th staff were attentive and friendly.
Lovely restaurant. All the food was delightful. I especially enjoyed the veal rump.
Pre theatre meal - opted for 3 courses from the set menu. Fish and vegetables were cooked to perfection, ambiance relaxed and cosy. Portion size just right. Staff welcoming & attentive. All food samples was tasty however no dish blew me away or had that wow factor I was expecting for somewhere so highly recommended (I also sampled my wife s alternative selections from the taster menu).
Really delicious food Good service Fair prices
Terrific lunch for 2 from the set menu. We both opted for the Lorne Aperitif to get the ball rolling, definitely recommend this, packed a punch (would love to know the recipe). Delightful Beetroot salad, followed by an earthy meal of Oglett with mash and spinach. Rich and all beautifully cooked as youd expect. Rounded off with a sumptuous (and generous) chocolate mousse with lime ice cream and crunchy bits. Each had a glass of wine, and coffee, total bill £135 - great value.
Amazing food, wine and service. The people working there were very friendly and helpful. Together with the online reservation we informed them of some allergies. There was a menu ready for that person with all possibilities tailored to her diet. Never seen that before. The food was fantastic, well presented, fresh and delicious. The wines were also very fitting. Had a great evening with my colleague thanks to Lorne.
Great place to dine in with friends. Great food and atmosphere.
Always great flavours and a modern, relaxed and sophisticated setting.
Parking: Great food Food
Great wine selection excellent starter professional service
We went for dinner on a Thursday evening. Atmosphere is nice and relaxed, fairly informal. Sommelier very helpful and informative. The starter of sea bream tartare was a stand-out highlight, one of my favourite courses in a while. The main course and dessert were not quite up to the same standard however, though still perfectly nice (we ate everything on our plates!) Prices were fair, and its definitely worth a visit if you are in the area, especially for that sea bream tartare....!
We have been dinng with 2 friends for 30+ years, choosing a resturant every quarter. Lornes, chosen off Condé Nastes top 50 London Resturants, should be at the top! The three courses we had among the four of us were so delicious and scrumptious we are still taking about it. The martinis were spot on, the wines excellent, from a very reasonable price list, and the service friendly, professional and attentive. To be recommended and to return. Thank you.
Excellent cuisine, adorable team!!! Thank you for everything !
Simple setup with ample emphasis on exquisite food quality and excellent service (our bottles of water were never empty for long). I can see why it is so highly rated
Elegant yet unfussy delcious food, lovely atmosphere and a fantastic wine list incluing some great options by the glass. Overall a lovely evening and well certinly be back!!
Lorne was simply marvellous. The food was absolutely scrumptious. Servers attentive and friendly. A real find. No hesitation to recommend it to any one I meet.
Simply the best. Hands down my favourite restaurant the last few years. They always exceed my expectations - the most delicious food, exceptional wine, a lovely atmosphere and great service. Well done and thank you for a wonderful evening!
We had the 3 course set meal pre-theatre. Each course was delicious. The wine list was extensive with some fair-priced options by the glass. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance felt elegant yet relaxed. Definitely would come back! Food : 5/5
Really enjoyed it Great food and service
Pristine and intimate setting, wonderful food and charismatic staff. Definitely going again.
Very different food. Loved the sea breme dish..highly recommend.
Stopped in for dinner for 2. This place had rave reviews, but we were pretty disappointed. Service was ok. Started with the Lorne aperitif, which was pretty tasty and unique. The rest of the meal was subpar - our fowl tasted like overcooked chicken breast, and the side potato was way too rich. I think the point of this place is simple food done very well - for us, it completely missed the mark. At this price point, I would look elsewhere.
Nice place and the food is really delicious
Friendly local atmosphere tucked away, 10mins walk from Victoria station. Highly recommend the prawn and leek starter and baked cod main. The wine pairings were great and the food, perfectly cooked and the hazelnut tart for dessert was on point. Would visit again.
An absolute gem of a restaurant, close to Victoria Station, great atmosphere and service. Food delicious and staff attentive.
Wonderful people serving and very good food
A firm new favourite with food well thought out and executed with care.
Loved the food, great wine list and lovely atmosphere. Well worth the visit and I am sure great to have them as a local! Yum!
Small quaint contemporary restaurant with excellent and unusual and exceptionally tasty food combinations. Fabulous flavours all three courses were exquisite. It is expensive but definitely worth it. Would thoroughly recommend. Would suggest that you book to avoid disappointment.
I could not recommended this place more! It was a real treat to eat here, the food was exceptional, both in presentation and flavour. I genuinely cannot wait to eat here again. The service was extremely good and we never felt forgotten or wanting for more attention, but we also were not overly disturbed either. Im shocked we managed to make a booking on such short notice, I feel like this is the sort of place you stumble across once in a blue moon, and the next time you try to visit you have to book months in advance. I had the glazed chicken to start, and it is genuinly one of my favourite dishes, and the lamb for main which was also mouth-wateringly delicious. I have a dairy intolerance which was catered to perfectly, and there was only one dish on the menu I couldnt have, as they could accommodate everything else (except the puddings, but the strawberry dish was divine so I cant fault them there either). Now youd think an experience this great this would cost an arm and a leg, but without the wine (and we went for one of the more expensive wines, and were definitely not disappointed) we didnt even spend more than our train tickets to London! Dietary restrictions: Excellent accommodation
The food is *amazing*. First class quality.
A Culinary Delight at Lorne Restaurant Rating: (5/5) Date of Visit: Tuesday Evening 8/8/23 Lorne Restaurant, an exquisite culinary haven nestled in the heart left an indelible impression on my taste buds during my recent visit on a Tuesday evening. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the restaurants elegant ambiance and attentive service. Ambiance: (5/5) Lornes ambiance is an impeccable fusion of modern sophistication and warm hospitality. The soft, ambient lighting and tasteful decor create a cozy yet intimate atmosphere that perfectly complements the culinary journey ahead. Service: (5/5) The service at Lorne Restaurant is nothing short of exemplary. From the moment I entered, the staff displayed a keen attention to detail and a genuine desire to make the dining experience exceptional. Our server was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also offered insightful recommendations based on our preferences. The pacing of the meal was impeccable, allowing us to savour each course without feeling rushed. Culinary Experience: (5/5) The highlight of the evening was the food. I had the sea bream (their signature dish) I would highly recommend this, the lamb for main , curried sweet potato, green beans, dukkha and pomegranate was also a highlight, and then I had cheese to finish. Conclusion: Lorne Restaurant is a culinary gem that has managed to masterfully blend ambiance, service, and exceptional cuisine into an unforgettable dining experience. My visit on a Tuesday evening was an extraordinary journey that will undoubtedly beckon me back for more.
Amazing food and drink, fantastic service all set in a lovely little restaurant. Julia served us, her knowledge and enthusiasm for the menu helped with our choices, excellent service. Thank you.
I don t usually write bad reviews but I m writing this because I just want to save people their valuable time and money. We love going to nice places to eat and we were excited to try Lorne. The good bit - The wine was lovely and well recommended by the Sommelier. Bad bits - The food was bad (a la carte menu). Cold and warmish in the middle, it felt and tasted microwaved and not fresh, it was all really tasteless and presented badly in tiny portions (not that we wanted to eat anymore of it). At £30 + a main course, we did expect better, we ordered the Cod and the Veal (just so you know this isn t fake!) No one asked how the food was at any point and when we asked for the bill straight after the main course no one questioned if everything was ok. On leaving we spoke to the Sommelier/manager? to say that we hadn t enjoyed the food and it was cold, she wasn t really bothered. I m not sure how a restaurant runs like this in London. We had high hopes, it s a shame. But, please don t waste and money and your time here as they don t really care that much.
Great pre theatre menu. Staff were really friendly. Food was of a high standard and the set meal was great value.
Very good breakfast. Spectacular attention and according to my daughters some great music. I recommend 100%.
Discovered this only recently thanks to Jancis Robinson s recommendation in the FT although I ve been living a short walk away in Belgravia for 11 years! Delicious food, great wines and amazing service. I strongly recommend the Lorne aperitif. Truly delicious
Loved the atmosphere and the lunch menu. Will definitely visit again
Absolutely love this place! The food is consistently superb! One of the best meals I ve had in London. The Sea Bream is amazing. Lovely spot for before a show, but also anytime!
Great food, great wine, and great service. We got great advice for an interesting bottle of wine!
Excellent food and wine with very attentive service.
One of the best restaurant I tried in London for a while. Lorne and Alice in particular went above and beyond to accommodate a relatively large group of us on very short notice. We were starting a food club and had to start strong, and our first restaurant choice let us down. Lorne stood up to the task and has been extremely responsive and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious and so seasonal that we could not even try the main 3 days prior as they update their menu so often, so we simply trusted blindly the chefs recommendation and I am glad we did. It was all extremely well priced as well. Do yourself a favour and go to Lorne asap.
Fantastic place to eat for special occasions. Food is outstanding
Great little restaurant good quality food and great service. Definitely recommend this small independent restaurant.
Thoughtful menu, excellent wine choices and great staff
Vegetarian options: No vegetarian or vegan options on the menu. Food
The food was normal but not enough for my taste, the best thing was the girl with short hair who served us, who made sure that we were well and explained everything to us.
Top, very tasty and creative thanks
An absolutely superb restaurant! Top notch food and a fantastic yet reasonably priced wine list. You will do well to beat Lorne for Quality and Price in London. And amazing staff and service too! Food
Great spot! Really cosy atmosphere with superb food to go with it. It was good value (not cheap) for the amazing food, everything was delicious. Highly recommend the booth seats for two.
Not the best food, but still tasty. The staff and location are great though, the kind of place to where I would return often if I lived nearby; but perhaps not travel far for.
Superb
Consistently excellent food and service. I love this small restaurant near Victoria for meeting friends. Ive yet to have a disappointing dish. Atmospheric without being too noisy. The early evening set menu is good value.
Grown up dining and wine list, absolutely first class. The owner is here most days and it shows
Excellent gastronomy, Good atmosphere.
We had the pre-theatre set menu. The price was reasonable. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was welcoming. The service was perfect. We split a carafe of wine. My husband s arancini was the only slight disappointment. Not because they weren t perfectly crunchy and flavourful, but they were very small (about the size of a ping-pong ball) and there were only two of them. We could have eaten a bowl full. I would definitely go back.
High quality and creative dining for a fair price.
Lovely evening
Delicious, seasonal menu and really friendly (and masked!) staff.
The dessert was amazing, coconut fancier with pineapple crisp was heavenly!!!
Food was all tasty and well cooked. Service was slow and not particularly attentive. Felt quite cramped especially considering Covid. Lacked noteworthy detail and attention but overall a decent meal.
We had a great meal with excellent servers in this excellent little restaurant - the price was high but all the food was delicious. Good spot for a little lunch date in my opinion!
A short menu is nearly always a good sign and so it is here. The food is fantastic and the wine list long.
A cosy restaurant in the heart of Pimlico. Lorne had a modern menu, with a good selection of Vegetarian and Vegan options. Food was very well presented, staff were friendly and very helpful with the menu. I will definitely be back. Dont miss out on the deserts, they were a highlight.
Gourmet with british inspiration; so much charm, friendly staff, we went in thinking wed have a nice little lunch, but left feeling like wed just had an unexpectedly and deliciously memorable experience. Well definitely remember the bread, too!
Welcoming staff , nice atmosphere . Wine list excellent. Food though lovely came in tiny portions and despite three courses several of our party resorted to beans on toast when they got home. Asked for tap water and were told that the filtered (?tap) water on offer was excellent. Failed to mention that the water was £1 a bottle.
Lovely wine, good service and nice atmosphere. The food was incredibly expensive for the quality and portion size - The ravioli was nice but apart from that I really wasn t impressed.
Veal didnt have much flavor , everything else ok.
The restaurant is amazing :), I loved it. Everything was very good. I recommend. Steve Coach
Lovely little restaurant
Gorgeous dinner and outstanding wine
Small portions, expensive
29 Apr 22 Location: the best way to get to the restaurant is to take public transport. The closest station is Victoria Station. It is not far from Sainsbury so that was my reference point. Time eaten: lunch time. Booking: a booking was very easy to do online Restaurant: The restaurant is beautiful looking and added the positive experience. Service: the service was really super. They really care for their customers. My daughter attended, and there was a toddler chair waiting for her. When she dropped a folk on the floor by accident, the manager was there in a flash to replace it. It was nice that they smiled a lot and that made us feel very welcome. The recommendation by the friendly waitress was amazing. The food: the most important part! Overall, it was excellent and I really enjoyed it. I had more of the fish dishes and its freshness was amazing. It is not food I have ever eaten, so I was really pleasantly surprised. The dessert was positive! Overall, I feel people won t be disappointed. Of course, this is very subjective, but compared to the normal places I dine at, this deserves 5-star ratings. A special thanks to Fiona and Richard N who very kind of him to refer us to him. What an amazing gesture. Photos to be uploaded soon.
Fantastic taste but portions are very small
One of the best meals I ve had in a very very long time. To start the staff was amazing and the owner charming and sweet. The design and ambience was warm and inviting with great lighting (a stickler of mine). I had the sea bream appetizer which was spectacular and I would not change a bit and then the lamb. The thing I liked about both dishes is that they both surprised me with texture and taste. I ended the meal with the chocolate cremeux and port .wonderful. I may just have to go back again before I leave London. The only negative is that my better half was not there to enjoy it with me!
Despite living locally and wanting to visit many times, tonight was my first visit to Lorne. You know youre doing something right when youre absolutely stuffed with customers at 6.30 pm on a Wednesday but, as I felt might be the case, everything was spot on. The service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing and both the food and wine great; inventive yet obvious, funky but not weird. All four plates we had were excellent. I promise not to leave it five years before returning :)
Staff was so down to earth and comfortable to be around. Absolutely bonkers oxtail raviolo. 100/10
My family and I had a fantastic early dinner here following a matinee. It s rare that everyone around the table is unanimous in their praise, but this was certainly the case. The menu was seasonal and each dish impressed with both quality and creativity. Varied and interesting wine list. The restaurant even mailed me my sunglasses when we realised they had been left behind. All in all, an excellent evening at good value.
Refined British cuisine! a good address near Victoria/Buckingham, nice setting and very pleasant staff...
Great little spot with friendly and accommodating staff, creative and well executed menu, (everything we tried / shared was fantastic!) and reasonably priced what s not to like?!
Service was super friendly, food was fantastic, ideal for a date night or special occasion as the atmosphere was cosy and homely. Will certainly come back.
This place was unexpectedly SO good. I say unexpectedly because we didn t have a booking and called very last minute. We got everything our waitress recommended and it was all phenomenal. Stand outs were the fish tartare appetiser and the stuffed chicken main!
Such a delicious lunch for my husbands birthday. Everything was so good and the service was excellent. I will definitely be back!
Excellent food and service in a charming hole in the wall
Best meal we ve had in a while. It was a pre-theatre choice, but this was a surprisingly fab little gem that can stand its own. The service was very accommodating to our dietary restrictions and time constraints, and the food was contemporary and well plated. Every dish we had was great, with generous portions, creative textural elements, and well-balanced flavours. Would definitely come again. We had the sea bream tartare, the bull tomato with shrimp, the veal, the gnocchi, and the sorbets.
Superb understated restaurant a few minutes from Victoria. Fabulous flavours and service - a real gem this one.
A modern British restaurant Located on a busy street this is a fine dining experience using British and European ingredients. Very nice modern and comfortable interior. Great wines on offer to go with excellent food. Also is mentioned in the Michelin guide. The added effort by the staff is appreciated. Close to Victoria station.
Amazing food and drinks!!!
Great food - would recommend the set menu!
Great wines, superb service, and food was great balanced and contemporary.
Delicious! And great wine too. Loved the sea bream starter.
Epic, very refined
Delicious food and outstanding good service, will definitely be going back.
Charming lunch spot in Victoria. Amazing lunch, coffee, and service.
Excellent dinner, highly recommend
I can t wait to visit this amazing gem again! Having delicious modern British cuisine in cozy decor was already a treat but also the staff there is absolutely exceptional. Big thank you to Elle and Andrew who took care of me, you two were absolute sweet charms and made my night!!
Excellent!! We had the sea bream tartare..so fresh and light. The meeting of crunchy and soft was Terrific! Also... we had the Cornish cod and were not disappointed! Fresh bright and unique! We took the servers recommendations and were expressed. Definitely recommend!
Very nice and refined restaurant that makes you relax with impeccable and super welcoming service (they even bring hot bread with Sicilian oil!!!) but which is a little too expensive compared to the quality of the dishes offered (no memorable dishes).
I absolutely love coming to Lorne! The food is always exceptional (shout out to the amazing kitchen) and the staff is superb. Highly recommend for special occasions or a nice lunch or dinner out in London. You will always leave with a full, satisfied and happy tummy :)
Only a matter of time until this gets a star. Just perfection
Absolutely lovely meal and wonderful attentive team, incredible wine list too
Our favourite London restaurant by far. Amazingly creative and delicious menus backed by great wine selections and friendly and knowledgeable staff
The best meal I had all year, honestly. The sea bream tartare was particularly good. Wine pairings were excellent. Ambiance is romantic and unpretentious.
What a lovely local restaurant this is. The sea bream starter was incredibly tasty. The red leg partridge and venison mains equally delicious. The pear and chocolate cremeaux deserts well executed and well balanced. Nice bottle of Alsatian Pinot at £45 . All in all, an excellent meal.
My meal was delicious, as a meat eater, and the service superb. However, there was very little choice for a vegetarian, my wife, unless one likes gnocchi, which she doesn t. Because of this, she was disappointed and says she d be wary of returning, which is a great shame.
Our Christmas Party ... Excellent venue ... Food
Excellent fresh food, and the service is fantastic. Wed just arrived to London with our luggage and the team was so helpful. Thanks again guys!
Really didnt think we where going to make it here. But with minutes to spare we made our booking. However we need not of worried. We spoke to Alice and she was exceptionally understanding and liased with us during the day and told us not to worry. Finished off by introducing herself at our table where her kindness was appreciated. Anyway stop bigging her up now. The food was amazing. NO! it was was AMAZING. Would fully recommend this quaint little place just up the road from Wicked ... book early you be sorry to not go here
The food was very nice, but I found the service quite rude in the end, we were left with our empty dinner plates for over 15 minutes despite it being quite a small restaurant with plenty of staff, when I asked for them to be cleared the staff member was very short with me, as a result we opted against having dessert.
Lovely meal. Great service. Well be back
Great tasting food - set menu lunch was excellent and will definitely be back
Lamb and veal were great. Will visit again
Friendly professional staff, a clean modern setting and excellent food /drink Very accomodating for dietary requirements.
Modern British food in style, well and attractively presented. A little bland in execution. Fine wine list although expensive at the top end. Great neighbourhood style restaurant, Victoria/Pimlico borders.
Wonderful evening, excellent food and wine, great service, lovely atmosphere, already booked again !
Original. Thoughtful delicious food and great staff
A hidden jem in Victoria with atmosphere, good professional service and excellent food. The extensive wine list is remarkable and sommelier seems to know every bottle in person... Worth the travel if youre in the area
First time we had been to Lorne last night as we were looking for something new outside our usual area of North London. We had the tartrate to start and quail, mains were the cod and pork. Its was all delicious, cooked to perfection. To finish a tart and the malt with a glass of sweet wine. Everything was great and service impeccable. We shall be visiting again soon with friends.
Just good food! My bf wanted a soup, they didn t have but recommended a delicious cauliflower sauce fish starter; for the main the cod is perfection - crispy skin and tender, sauce absolutely delicious, with potato crisp as finishing touch. The other main we got is the pork belly; chicory is especially good, & love the smart addition of black pudding!
Modern European at the top of its game. Just superb
Pre-theatre menu and service was impeccable. Would highly recommend.
Oh yum! What a little gem of a restaurant only 5 minutes walk from busy Victoria Station. A real treat with seasonal British fare on the menu, a great wine list and helpful and knowledgeable staff. Katie the owner was on hand to give personal recommendations and her taste is faultless. Highly recommend. Can t wait to come back. Thank you Katie and team.
Great food with an impressive wine list. We have never met any sommelier who talks about wine as passionately as Kate, she is so helpful and knowledgeable, such a joy talking to her. The food was amazing, the service was very good and we had such a nice evening. Highly recommend this place!
