Celebrated a lunch birthday here and we were all very impressed by the service and food. You need to book in advance. The lobster pie is a standout and has big prices of lobster meat, cooked in a lobster broth. It’s absolutely delicious with strong flavours. The Sunday roast was also just as good, the beef moist, with the some of the best potatoes we’ve ever had. The desserts are out of this world, and are made to order - and it shows. Highly recommend, and would come again. Tips: - make sure you book in advance - there is a 15% service charge

We came here to try the famous lobster pie and weren't disappointed. In fact every element of our meal was superbly crafted, from my "strawberries and cream" seabass starter down to the cherry kirsch sponge dessert. And obviously, the showstopper pie, was perfectly cooked and presented. The pastry was buttery and flaky without being dry, and the filling was quite generously portioned with chunks of fresh lobster. It comes with some delicious veg (broad beans, cavolo nero) but we also got some mash on the side which was buttery and smooth. It was perfectly accompanied by a lovely bottle of Chardonnay. The service was attentive and the environment with its dim lighting and artworks was second to none. A real treat.

fantastic dining spot! Everything exceeded our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised by the lively atmosphere (good crowd)—something you don’t often find in Mayfair. The food was exceptional; the lobster pie was a standout, and the banana soufflé became my instant favorite. Aesthetically, the restaurant is incredibly chic, with its impressive artwork and creative interior design. Oh, and The service! You definitely feel welcomed as staff is super attentive. I would gladly return!

Welcome from the senior staff member was a tad snotty, guy on the front door and our waiter were very nice. Loved the art work and floor. Food was decidely average at best - I would not recommend the beef tartare (I requested no egg yolk - it arrived as requested (fine) completely garnish free - quite uninspiring and beef was tasteless, toast waa greasy.. The monkfish dish was not great - I was playing find the potato - finally found four or five tiny balls hiding in the sauce. The sauce was not well balanced. For the price I was expecting something amazing. I have eaten much better for much less and don't think I would return.

We found this place while looking for something near by but didn’t realize what a lovely place it was! The staff was very friendly and the food was perfect! I had the lamb, perfectly cooked, and paired with a zucchini flower that was stuffed. My youngest had an onion tart with mushrooms and beans. The restaurant was designed by an artist so that it looks like you are eating in an art gallery!

Upstairs at this restaurant is simply stunning, filled with an artistic atmosphere. Surrounded by world-famous paintings, the ambiance is extremely comfortable. Highly recommend for art and food lovers! 🍃 Located on Mount Street in Mayfair, this restaurant, owned by a gallery owner, features works by Matisse, Picasso, Philip Guston, George Condo, and more. You’ll be amazed by the art and the delicious British cuisine. 🙌 Every dish is a delight! The bread with butter and chicken liver pâté is a must-try, as well as the London butter lettuce salad with blue cheese, pear, and candied walnuts. The beef tartare is one of the best in London, and the Dressed Portland crab salad is a summer specialty. 🥰 Desserts are French-inspired with British names, like the classic Eton Mess turned into a cake mousse – not too sweet, just perfect! 🫶 Definitely a spot I can‘t wait to revisit!

Service was wonderful, staff were all very welcoming and polite. Bread and butter was served on the house. Ordered the signature lobster pie and was not disappointed, pastry was thin and lobster meat was generous. It’s very filling for just two people actually. Would probably be perfect sharing amongst three and having some other sides or small plates. Had a crab salad which was on the pricier side for its size (of a palm). Overall great central location and atmosphere for a business lunch.

The menu offered a variety of options, catering to different dietary preferences. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The appetizers were fresh and well-seasoned, setting the tone for the rest of the meal. The main course was cooked to perfection, with generous portions and a great balance of textures. Dessert was a highlight, with a rich and indulgent selection that left us wanting more. I believe that where the menu is largely overpriced and the food isn t exceptionally good, at least the service should be professional and welcoming. And this is not what I had from the Mount St Restaurant!! I arrived before my friend did and wasn t aware that she had a reservation, so I asked for a table. Was told they were fully booked - fair enough, I turned away. Then my friend messaged me to say she actually made a reservation under the name Axxxx. So I got back to the reception to tell them of it. So now you DO have a reservation? The lady at reception said, unnecessarily rude. Yes, under the name Axxxx. Axxxx K? Yea I think it would be Axxxx K . Are you sure the last name is K? Well how many bookings under this name Axxxx do you have? One Then it s got to be it, isn t it? Finally the lady let me in The experience wasn t nice. Poor attention to detail, food served without introduction (by default they serve chicken liver pâté with bread, without mentioning what it is. So be careful if you re allergic or anything). Towards the end of the meal, we ordered a desert to share. And at that moment, for the very first time, a seemingly senior staff came and said to us that we had overstayed our assigned timeslot and would need to take it somewhere else in the building if we wanted to have desert. SHOCKED! I said No I don t want to waste any more time of yours and it s definitely not worth going up two floors just for the desert. We ll just finish the wine and leave. He looked upset (face literally turned red) and left. We then quickly downed the wine and got the bill. Some of the oysters we had were obviously poor quality. But that was the least of our problems with that meal. Spend your money somewhere else if you want better service (especially if you re ETHNIC MINORITIES because there s genuinely a difference in the way they treat different customers).

We went to dinner and got a lobster pie to share. Then we took a main course each, namely the truffle and cheese risotto and an aged fillet (medium cooked). Finally we had a Cambridge cream and a chocolate mousse with ice cream for dessert. Excellent quality flavors and ingredients. Waiter was very attentive to our needs as well as good company. The place has a welcoming atmosphere but is simply furnished. The bathroom is shared with another room on the -1 floor reachable by lift.

A Culinary Gem: Mount Street Restraunt is a hidden gem in the heart of London. The ambiance is elegant and inviting, perfect for a special occasion. The food, however, is the real star of the show. I had the pleasure of trying the beef Wellington, and it was simply exquisite. The pastry was flaky and buttery, the mushrooms were rich and flavorful, and the beef was cooked to perfection. The area where the restaurant is situated is a very wealthy one. We had a dinner appointment at 20.30 and it seemed like the whole restaurant was full with business people. The atmosphere is very upperclassy and posh (not in a nice way) and the food did not anyhow live up to the expectations. I ve been eating way better at local pubs. It looked like the room and the guests are just filled with a lot of ego. For us as tourists, it wasn t a place to feel welcome. We came because of the raving reviews, but got very disappointed. The service was friendly, for us the only positive aspect of the evening. In the end we were really regretting spending 350.- here for a dinner, would not recommend.

A newish addition to the neighbourhood. I question if it is a restaurant or more of a canteen. Not been previously because friend of mine didn t like. The food is very good with wonderful sauces and delightful whipped pots of dressing and dips. I had the crab with fresh lettuce. Then the lobster pie and apple crumble soufflé. The pudding was the best. Flavours divine. The crab light and fresh. The pie an interesting idea - I love pie at the Holborn dining rooms and lobster is a firm favourite (I visit the usa a lot) but lobster pie? The pastry was delicious, the lobster divine. Do they go together? I don t think so. However virtually every table was ordering it. (They do have beef wellington - but my companion didn t eat beef - shame!) I found the restaurant noisy - one table of 8 was laughing loudly - it got better when the room filled up more. I hear breakfast and lunch are very good so perhaps those are the better time options.

Stefania my contact at the restaurant was very professional which made specific arrangements easy to organise (I got a tour around the restaurant prior to the night I booked). The ambience and service is excellent and all my guests thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The food was tasty but I wouldnt call it exceptional- thats not saying it was bad in any way. Id recommend ordering more side dishes, they were quite small and 6 between 12 was barely enough. The Beef Wellington was beautifully rare and the Butter Lettuce salad was incredibly tasty. To get the rooms you will need to spend a minimum of £1500 which is not difficult. Deposit is that amount prior to event. I think this is a cashless restaurant too.

The food was delivered to perfection. We picked salads for starters (wonderful taste!) just to have room for the beef Wellington that came perfectly executed and the velvety mash that is a dream. Extra note, as I mentioned that we are celebrating a special occasion during my reservation -being early valentine s dinner- they asked us what the celebration was about during dessert and presented us with a lovely chocolate cake. The service is outstanding in all aspects and I would recommend to anyone looking for a good English menu in London

I had the full English, I knew they would have great black pudding - I was surprised by the addition of baked beans (Im not a fan) but it was really good. Two points: 1/ They do not offer croissants only toast, which is strange as they own the farm shop opposite; when I popped in there after breakfast they had a basket full of croissants ! 2/ They do not allow dogs - which is a shame as so many good places do these days (Maison Francois, Wolseley, George etc). The bread basket sums up our experience: What looked and smelled like lovely warm home made bread on the outside - turned out to still be frozen solid on the inside the bread was swapped out after I almost lost a tooth to it - but not even an apology was offered let alone a drink. I can understand and even embrace paying premium prices for middle of the road food as long as you get the pomp and theatre expected with Mayfair dining (Annabel s, Amazonico, etc.) but here again Mount St fell as flat as their banana soufflé our waiter was straight out of Fawlty Towers - he refused to put our beef Wellington order through unless we ordered our starters first - despite warning of a one hour prep time - and told me to split the bill myself as he couldn t work out how to divide £460 by two! The room felt cold because of an unaddressed draught., I could go on. What was there to like? The art - loved the almost socialist concept of hanging masterpieces up on a restaurant wall to be enjoyed as intended - if only they actually knew how to run a restaurant - they d be onto a winner.

We had dinner with friends on a Friday evening. The decor and the art pieces are unique(they also have a Picasso). The service is friendly, but in my opinion, we waited a bit too long between our starters and our mains (maybe also since we ordered the beef Wellington). As a dessert, we had a soufflé. Despite the long wait, it was delicious, and I can recommend it. The man down stairs is super friendly and merits a special mention. I was slightly disappointed that to go to the toilets you needed to go to the pub downstairs and there was only one toilet. For such a high-end restaurant, you expect to have bathrooms reserved only for clients.

A beautiful, multi level restaurant with an art focus. The menu is classic but varied, with various caviar, oyster, seafood and meat options. Highlights for us were the lobster pie and beef Wellington. The beetroot tart was technically well curated but not especially exciting. Their soufflé was perfectly made and the chocolate mousse is both airy and rich. The restaurant itself is worth a visit for the building alone- an old building with interesting and striking art. I love the recipe pieces in the corridor. Definitely worth trying if youre visiting London and want a Mayfair dining experience, without the pretentiousness of a lot of Mayfair spots, a bit old school, with creative interior. Yet the staff were very sweet and welcoming.

Update: The team at Mount St. reached out after our initial negative experience and asked us if wed be willing to give the restaurant another try as they were working hard to improve the service. My wife and I agreed to give it another chance, and I am happy to say that they were true to their word. The food and ambience were great and the service was much improved. Credit to the Mount St. for taking feedback on board and trying to do better. They have certainly turned my opinion around for the better! ******************** Original review: I had read great reviews so I came here for my wifes birthday with high expectations. The decor, artwork and atmosphere was great but the food and service was very inconsistent. Dishes took a long time to come out and when they finally did the steak and venison were cold. Even the oysters which just needed to be shucked and put on a plate took over 30 minutes. Some of the staff were friendly and attentive while others were disengaged and distracted. The gentleman at the entrance downstairs was exceptionally friendly and kind, and deserves special mention. Overall for a restaurant at this price point, there is room for significant improvement.

The salon is lovely. The food was overcooked and the staff only smiled to one another. Whilst they well reacted to my critique on the overcooked food, it was disappointing!

I loved every bit of experience that this place offered, however, rest of the day was ruined by the admin lady that worked there on 04.08., she disrespected me and my guest and made us feel uncomfortable. Nevertheless, exquisite food and beautiful interior. Food

I took my partner here for his birthday breakfast. I loved everything about Mount St restaurant, from the decor to the ambience to the service to the food! Highly recommended for any occasion. We can t wait to go back for lunch or dinner. This is my favourite place for breakfast in London so far!

Was really looking forward to trying this restaurant as had read many positive reviews, and was totally let down. My husband ordered a nice £30 glass of Gevrey-Chambertin and they didn t show the bottle, it came room temperature in the wrong glass, and it had clearly been open for too long. We were shocked that such a fancy restaurant in Mayfair didn t know how to serve wine properly. It s a shame because the wine list is quite good (they must have a good supplier), but they clearly have no clue what they re doing. To make matters worse, I ordered a risotto which came with Baron Bigod which is a mould ripened cheese. I cannot eat mould ripened cheese as I am pregnant and there is risk of listeria. I informed them of this and they assured me that they d replace it with another cheese. When the dish came, it clearly had mould-ripened cheese rinds in it, and they told me this cheese is fine for pregnancy . They didn t bother to ask me before serving it to me. I gave it back and they brought me another one with a different cheese. But the rice was crunchy - the risotto was so clearly undercooked. I could only eat half of it. The service was strange - they were quite dismissive of our complaints and clearly felt like our complaints were unreasonable. Again, not the service you expect from a nice establishment that charges the prices this place charges.

Food and venue were fantastic but was let down by the service. Only 4 couples were also having breakfast in the restaurant but for some reason they put us on the worst table right next to the bar/coffee machine. We asked to be seated at a better table which luckily we could. Food was absolutely tremendous! I was still eating my toast while the waiter started clearing the plates. While she had the plates stacked in her hands, asked us if we still wanted to finish the beans - we said no because without cutlery and plates that would have been quite difficult. Then the bill was directly handed to my partner eventhough I had reserved the table and I was paying. On the reservation I also marked that it was a celebration but nobody mentioned anything. I felt for a £75 breakfast (2 mains, 2 coffees and some water), I would have liked the service to match.

Probably one of the best London restaurants been to where the service is excellent. Having not decided on the drinks, told the waiter give us a few min. And he actually come back in a few min not 15-20 min thoughtout the all the staff were excellent and the food looks and taste excellent. Ordered 2 beef wellingtons and the lamb, Plus sides. Definitely would recommend and return.

Many restaurants mix various ingredients to create their dishes, but Mount St Restaurant truly achieves exponentially greater flavors and experiences with their starters, mains and desserts. The ambiance and the location are also hard to beat.

Truly disappointing, Im not usually the type to go to a place with such a price tag but I am a chef and would like to own a gallery one day so had to try it. The food was okay, extremely salty, clearly high effort but unfortunately not the most enjoyable eating experience. Ridiculously overpriced and I felt a bit bombarded by the staff who were rushed and misunderstood multiple things I asked/said. Unfortunately this ended up costing me £40 (as I misunderstood the price of a menu item because and it was so overpriced) and I also asked to donate more to the charity and reduce the service tip (which is automatically added to the bill, not my favourite) but another misunderstanding meant they cancelled the tip altogether, which I bet made none of us feel great. Im sure the produce is amazing, but the art is absolutely the only reason to come here so if you dont really care about food I guess Id recommend? There are literally a thousand better restaurants in London that Id recommend first though (then just go to the Tate).

The food is brilliant and the space is beautiful! Very stylish and amazing art. The waiters are also clearly very experienced. Howeverrrr We arrived for a Saturday morning breakfast before a wedding and the atmosphere was really flat. There were only 2 other tables but granted it was 10.30am. The food was way to slow given there was no one there. I wouldnt mind if it was busy. And the vibe from the waiters (despite being very professional) was so serious and stuffy for a Saturday morning, it felt a bit down beat. A bit more energy from the team, bit of music and quicker service would be good.

Superb restaurant all round. Went for Sunday lunch - buzzy atmosphere, great mix of people. We d eaten elsewhere before so just ordered the Lobster pie which was the primary reason for the visit. It delivered. It was full of lobster and perfectly executed. Everything else was super. Even the Diet Coke came with a metal straw in wonderful glassware with a great amount of ice (subjective I know). Water was charged at £1.75 per head for unlimited which is a nicer touch than £8 a bottle elsewhere

Was absolutely blown away by the food, service, and the art! If you are an art enthusiast of any kind, you should come not only for their cleanly cooked bream and modern take on a beet salad, but their extensive collection of paintings and drawings courtesy of Hauser & Wirth (a blue chip gallery). The Art: The Paris-based interior design is full of fun facts, from repeating wallpaper printed with a Paul McCarthy statue to the hand-collaged Phyllida Barlow ceiling installed next door at The Audrey Bar (owned by the same people). You will find Fontana, Freud, and Hodler on the walls among many other well curated picks! Everything else: the food is clean, well portioned, and flavorful with Parisian influences. They accommodated gluten, dairy, and nut allergies for our group with no problem, and our server took the time to explain some of the art collection to us despite it being a busy Friday night. Thank you for a lovely, lovely experience!

Terrible experience. On arrival for a 9.45 am reservation, we were told that the building would be evacuated for a fire test and we would have to leave by 10.30 a.m. The food was good but we had to eat it in a rush and that gave us indigestion. We then wanted comfort stops but the alarm went off at 10.20 a.m. What we had planned to be a leisurely start to an important day was ruined. We mentioned an awful experience at The Audley (the pub below the restaurant) and were assured that the Operations Manager would contact us. After five days, the silence has been deafening. The customer comes last here. AVOID.

Had an impromptu dinner date here on a Tuesday evening - charming, romantic and fun place to be The staff: Sofiane and Ash (our Moroccan Swiss server) were the best hosts In a neighbourhood know for where most restaurants struggle with taking your order it was a wonderful surprise to know that real hospitality still exists in W1.. Tuna starter was good Dover sole was superb.. vegetable sides could have been better prepared (more crisp perhaps) Desserts were underwhelming which was a shame but I don t feel disappointed at all The art on the walls was impressive- chapeau to their curator We will definitely be back

Excellent service. Personal but discreet. Very quick and attentive. Food, full English breakfast, cleanly served and very good. However, freshly squeezed orange juice was diluted and not pressed a la minuite . Ambiance is stunningly beautiful. Great place.
