The Five Fields in London

I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday on December 19th at 7:30 PM, ordering the 80 set menu with lobster and duck, totaling $232.75. Unfortunately, the experience didn t meet my expectations. While I won t judge the taste or portion sizes, the service was disappointing. Throughout the meal, no one cleaned the crumbs from our table, even though I saw the staff cleaning neighboring tables. I didn t realize this was part of the service until I noticed it at the table next to ours. I understand one waiter may have had health issues, but the overall service didn t justify the price. Although I was dissatisfied, I paid the full bill to avoid disrupting the atmosphere, but I feel the experience was not worth the cost. For this price, there are many other places that offer much better value,Because you will only get two dishes a few centimeters in size, like eating nothing.

We took friend s to celebrate a special birthday everything was fabulous. The food is totally delicious & beautifully presented. The room is elegant & comforting. The service is outstanding.

An amazing experience here for my birthday back in September. Setting is beautiful in a quiet residential street not far from Sloane Square, the ambience in the restaurant is really nice & relaxing. Little touches like a birthday card being ready on my table & my menu having a personalised birthday message really set the tone. My wife & I both went for the tatsing menu and shared a bottle of wine, I wont give anything away ref the menu but every single course was amazing. The service absolutely second to none. We have been lucky enough to eat at a few Michelin starred restaurants now (including Core by Clare Smyth) and honestly this is up there with the best of them. A must visit for anybody who enjoys their fine dining.

We very much appreciated the staff who were wonderful and accommodating. We will most certainly be visiting again to try other seasonal menus. Simply a delightful dining experience.

We used the private room for our wedding lunch. The service was absolutely impeccable. We had the lunch tasting menu and it was so beautifully cooked that even picky eaters in our party were eating their dislikes with glee as it was so creative. I cant recommend this restaurant enough x

Disappointing. Presentation over flavour. Sometimes Less is More and that was not the case.

More and more people these days seem worried by a nice piece of linen draped over a table and are intimidated by friendly service if the staff are smartly dressed. If you are one of these people then you should avoid The Five Fields. If, however, you are capable of dealing with a table covered in a cloth, dont mind staff who let you know what dish theyve just put in front of you and relish working with a friendly sommelier to discover new and exciting wines from around the world (think Riesling from Spain for example) then you should reserve a table here. Those who do will be rewarded with one of the finest meals available in London at the moment. Cooking is precise, combinations imaginative and flavours in turn bold and subtle. In addition to the superb wine list, those with a love of cocktails will not be disappointed. Service is friendly, professional and unobtrusive. Enjoy.

We visited The Five Fields in June and our dining experience was perfect from start to finish. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and the warmth and professionalism from everyone on their team makes you feel right at home. The food was excellent and every dish delicately prepared so as to highlight the flavour of the fresh and seasonal produce. The restaurant manager, Sebastien, took excellent care of our table. At the end of the meal he kindly gave us a tour of the kitchen and the team were even kind enough to send us a copy of our menus from the evening through the post (To Paris!) These people understand the true essence of hospitality and we felt the passion in everything they do. Thank you again to the whole team!

Very good execution. Some of the dishes in the chefs menu exceeded those of 2/3 Michelin star places. Main courses (fish/meat) a bit lacking.

Having tried most of the top restaurants in London (some which perplexingly have more Michelin stars), this place stands out. Absolute perfection, the timing of the main after various courses and wine pairings made that first bite memorable. Unlike many where one or two courses are great, here every single course was fantastic. A must try for any foodie

The simple elegance of the beautiful rooms of this restaurant hints at the exquisite dining experience patrons will encounter here. The service is impeccable and the food is sublime. Our last night in London before returning to Los Angeles was a spectacular one thanks to The Five Fields. We hope to return here on future London visits.

Stunning, just stunning. One of the very best tasting menus we ve ever had and we ve had many. From start to finish the service is absolutely fantastic. We had a leisurely, almost 4 hour dinner. We didn t want it to end.

First, the service was amazing, you could tell the level of professionalism and knowledge, special mention to Sebastien, Nono and Murielle for making this experience unforgettable. The Five Fields In our lifetime we have enjoyed some amazing dining experiences but I have to say that on saturday our lunch at The Five Fields was simply outstanding. The food created by chefs Taylor , Marguerite , Robert and all the team was exceptional. The service from Sebastian , Sandra and Muriel was first class and sommelier Michaela recommended some fabulous wine that complimented each dish perfectly. Our afternoon started with a delightful welcome before being escorted to our table. Once settled we received a nice surprise as we were poured a complimentary glass of champagne to welcome us back to the restaurant. We then looked at the menu while enjoying some Irish charcuterie. They only have one menu which is a 6 course Tasting Menu with a couple of supplemented dishes that is amazingly priced at just £95. The menu starts with a fabulous selection of snacks before your eyes and palate are in for a real treat because dish after dish that followed left us in amazement. The quality , the skill , the flavour and the presentation of each course just blew us away. If this wasn t enough we had the honour of being treated to a couple of dishes from the evening menu in the form of the Asparagus and the Lobster. This personally is a restaurant that I would put at the top of your list because they are in every way an absolute credit to the hospitality industry. We have been coming for over eight years and each visit gets better and better. I hope the pics that follow give you the incentive to pick up the phone and make a reservation because believe me you won t want to miss out. We had a great experience at the Five Fields. The restaurant is tucked away in a side street near Sloane Square. The dining room is intimate, having a sepia tone lighting. The menu was perfect, having plates of oysters, scallops, lobster, cod and venison. Dishes show a blend of delicate and soft flavors, with stronger and bold sauces, keeping a great balance. Normally plates will also come with an extra on the side to accompany the dish (not necessary in my view, as the dishes are already completely on their own). Nuno, the sommelier, guide us extremely well on the wine pairing experience (they offer 3 options, based on the quality of the wines). Otherwise they have an extensive wine list. Overall, a great and unique experience.

Cosy and beautiful.

What an amazing place. Been there a few times now and I can t fault it. Being a gourmet person I had the chance to go to many places including Osteria Francescana etc and I believe I have the right to share my own opinion about it In simple words as Tina used to say Simply the best! The food is fascinating, wine pairing is just perfect, service is amazing, staff are extremely genuine and professional . What else to say Can t wait to go there again

Honestly the best meal we ve had in 2023 and probably in our past 7 years in London (at least what we remember). The wine menu is extensive and the food was well thought through mixing textures wand flavors. Interesting wine pairing options! Cheese course is a must. My husband is a very picky eater and he enjoyed every course. It was a great way to celebrate his belated birthday and end 2023. Will be coming back with our parents

Dined at this Michelin star restaurant at the end of the year. Excellent cuisine, great products fabulously presented. My favorites are the Carot and the Roe Deer. With the right wine accompaniment and excellent service, its a great end.

The Five Fields fully deserves its reputation for exceptional service and food. The evening taster menu was well balanced with both some intense and subtle flavours and cooked to perfection. The Sommelier was knowledgeable and explained the wine pairings which accompanied the different plates. Although not a busy service on the evening we visited, it didnt spoil our enjoyment. Thank you to the front of house and kitchen staff for making the memories.

Very amazing place, great service, great food , good vibe. An elegant small and cosy fine dining restaurant, definitely a Michelin Star experience. Gave 1 star less because the portions of food could be bigger, was still a but hungry after the tasting menu courses.

Like going to a museum where you eat the art, and the art is fantastic. We did the wine paired tasting menu and the variations of the same basic ingredients for each session was so fascinating. Happy to have had the most serendipitous connection that led me to this restaurant. I owe it to the head chef s relative who tipped off to this Michelin starred restaurant. If your visiting London for the first or one hundredth time, a dinner at Five Fields is something you will never forget.

The first three or four items are very good until the few main things served. They are nice but not as exceptionally nice as the beginning items. And am I the only one who is charged $67 as %20vat on top of the displayed price? Usually the restaurants in London have the vat tax included in the displayed price. This is a very unpleasant surprise plus the 15% service charge.

Had a lovely dinner at The Five Fields. We had the tasking menu which was versatile, tasty and well presented. The atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. The staff was attentive. The food was well paced. The dishes themselves were very tasty, though some had somewhat similar aroma to them and werent so original. The execution was excellent.

We ate their lunch set. The selection of food is excellent with produce from their garden. The dishes have a good mix of taste and textures. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Romantic evening in a very elegant restaurant a stones throw from Sloane Square. We opted for the tasting menu (three entrees, three starters, three mains, pre-dessert and dessert), as expected, all delicious. The cod and fois gras in particular are exceptional! 4 members of staff pampered us throughout the evening. Best Michelin star restaurant in London!

Food was good with an interesting concept where the whole course surrounds only one ingredient which showed the creativity and skills of the chef. However, I do not think their service was worth the 1 michelin star. When I walked in, no one greeted at the door and actually they looked surprised. I was first to arrive and the waiter just led me to the table - no one pulled the table or the chair which I thought was absurd - they have done this to other tables though. We were not expecting a birthday cake as some restaurants do not offer them, however , we noticed another table was offered a birthday cake. Waiters were unprofessional, the restaurant was not huge and I could hear them murmur/chitchatting at the background. The sommelier was the only staff that was up to standard. Would not recommend ordering wine pairing as the portions were so little. Would not come back. It was such a disappointing birthday dinner.

Great food, a bit pricey but wines add up quickly . Only observation would be that I would not want to sit in the center as they have the tables around the wall looking in so you feel on the spotlight all the time! They could do a better job of arranging tables to give everyone a sense of privacy.

Incredible! We have eaten in various star restaurants all over the world, but today we were surprised again. From entering to leaving, first class service! Warm and competent! My partners napkin was immediately replaced when they saw that she was wearing a black dress. White napkin removed and the black napkin was passed. The food, first class is almost an understatement, its really great, simply perfect! The individual courses were absolutely amazing both in terms of taste and appearance! Above and beyond service! I dont often write reviews but felt compelled to write this after we had a really incredible evening at Five Fields last night. The food was phenomenal and the staff even more so. It was clear that each and every staff member were delighted to be back and you could feel they were putting their hearts in to the service The team helped to make our 4th Wedding Anniversary extra special with a number of touches (including a small arrangement of flowers by Matthew with 10 minutes notice- thank you!). It was also our first night out since the birth of our child and upon being called back by the babysitter(!), the team kindly and swiftly organised the remainder of the meal to go quickly so we could leave within 5 minutes without a fuss. This made my wife and I feel particularly comfortable during what could have been a somewhat more stressful experience. Thank you very much!

The food is really very tasty, the portions are really very small, even if you put everything on one plate it doesn t turn out to be much. Well, the price tag is of course 120+ per person.

We booked this restaurant on the same day 21/02/20 which was surprising as we know how difficult it is to book in as its in high demand. Luckily, they phoned us back and we had a wonderful time! The waiters were extremely attentive, the food was exquisite and the atmosphere was superb. Both my partner and I would like to thank The Five Fields for a lovely evening and we look forward to our next.

Great food, Great Service we have been twice now and both times it has been perfect.

Lovely venue I had visited several years prior. It certainly maintained some positives but there was a bit of room for improvement this time. The service was impeccable, dishes presented beautifully, the staff were very knowledgeable and had plenty of useful suggestions. The highlight of the lunch tasting menu was the venison, paired with an excellent bordeaux. The brill was also delicious, paired with an oak aged burgundy which worked beautifully. One of the pairings was slightly disappointing however. The celeriac dish didn t work very well with the viognier - the wine washed away any flavour of the dish, rather than compliment it, which was quite disappointing. Also, one of the desserts (simply called Honey on the menu) was a little unnecessary. It was milk ice cream served with a honey trill. Very little flavour overall and I assume it was meant as more of a palate cleanser, however it seemed overly complicated when a simple scoop of sorbet would ve worked just as well (if not better!)

A delicious meal that started with plenty of amuse bouche, and a well balanced, well portioned tasting menu. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and the Chassagne Montrachet was perfectly paired with the seafood heavy menu. Topping this off was exceptional service that balanced servicing our needs and providing space for us to enjoy ourselves Highly recommend.

Service, location, cuisine

I ordered the prix fixe for 80£. Choose one item from the starters, one item from the main, and one item from the dessert. Appetizers, bread, and cheese will be provided before and after. Not only the food, but they also suggested the perfect wine to go with the food, and it was delicious.

What a stunning dining experience! The food was amazing and the service was even more so. We had some dietary restrictions but the staff was extremely knowledgeable about their menu and ingredients, and they were very flexible about swapping out dishes to help us enjoy our food. Understated Modern British restaurant with fixed-price menu using rare herbs and seasonal produce.

The service was great, atmosphere was good and the food was...ok. We have been to many Michelín stars and feel like this one was trying too hard. We would prefer them to do fewer plates with better flavor and ingredients. The wine list is 2x markup and not much selection for the Coravin. Good local restaurant but maybe won t go back!

We have just had a marvellous meal at The Five Fields. The food was outstanding and the service was friendly and prompt.

A wonderful restaurant. We always love to come back. The tasting menu is always a treat. However the noise level in the restaurant is very annoying. It is a pity that you cant talk to you partner in a low voice except you have to shout at each other to make yourself understand. Unfortunately in such ambiyou cant enjoy that wonderful created courses. As much as I wish Five Fields the success the more I would be happy that distinct food lovers would be there and not billionaire hyped people who just been there to be and have no idea between the difference of a McShake and a fine meal .

Faultless. Food, wine, service. What a treat. The Five Fields is elegant, charming yet simple all at the same time. Luxury without pretence. One of the best meals I have had in a very long time. If I were to add anything constructive to this it would be to say that our experience could only have been enhanced by some background/ambient music. Having said that the peace and quiet might just be the finishing touch for others. Either way I would highly, highly recommend.

Very very good. Very very very expensive! I would absolutely recommend FF, however, there are other top end places I would go to first. The food was excellent but not exceptional (for London - given the wealth of incredible restaurants that we have). By this I mean not in the top five of London (I appreciate that is a very personal choice). They have a very odd waiting room upstairs - I would not turn up early as a result. Service is wonderful, dining room ticks all the boxes you will not be disappointed!

Great as always, but we told them weeks before that there was one person allergic to garlic: they told us that there was no problem, but instead they didnt have more than two choices and they struggle a lot even to provide those. Kind and helpful staff, but from a restaurant of this level you dont expect these kind of issues (in particular if they know the situation in advance)

Smallish, very traditional French feeling restaurant which sources some produce from their own farm in Sussex. Pricey, but not absurdly so - £75 for 3 courses - especially bearing in mind excellent quality. A little fussy - a lot of foams and maybe a bit too much work on presentation - but also lots of delicious amuses bouches , excellent wine, superb service and nice little touches like a small cake for our anniversary - there was a bit of an upsell on some white truffle dishes, but apart from that, this is a lovely place and I would strongly recommend it

Firstly the positives, Ana the sommelier, really impressed, as did the wines, and some of the proposed pairing choices. The service overall, especially from the French accented waiter, excellent. The space itself I didnt like, it reminded me of my Michelin trips in France 20 years ago, heavy tablecloths, no cosy corners, as one sort of sits exposed to the whole room. Actually cosyness, or hygge, as a principle, is absent here. The interior is blues inducing, with the only decorative feature of any note being 3 panels of some sort of 1950s pastel coloured tiles. Probably the dullest Michelin starred dining room in London. Lets hope it looks more cosy at night! Now to food, truffles supplement priced at £37 at least warranted shavings not grating of truffles. They were thinly grated over 2 out of the 3 completely unconnected dishes (why?!), with only the mushroom one being of any note. I had more truffles on my croque Monsieur at HIDE pop up in Burlington Arcade yesterday for the overall price of £19! The highlights for me was the cheese custard amuse bouche, the perfectly cooked roe deer (but whats with the overworked, 80s presentation?!) The cleansing sorbet exquisite with basil surprise inside, and jasmin and apple dessert very good, even though I am not a dessert person. Overall not great value/quality to price ratio in an uninspiring space. With so many wonderful 1stars, and better priced 2stars, in London, or plain fab non-star places to eat like Scarlett Green, Evelyns Table or Black Roe, I dont see myself returning to this place again.

The food is wonderful, the service is great and the wine recommended for our food is perfectly suited. The five field provides me the best free freshly baked bread which is better than any other Michelin restaurant in London. And the price is not that expensive given the quality of the food and bread provided. You won t regret going there for sure!
