Hyde Park Corner, London SW1X 7TA, United Kingdom
The Lanesborough hotel's flagship restaurant is home to Executive Chef Shay Cooper’s modern and innovative British cookery, with a focus on seasonal produce from around the country. A richly decorated Regency dining room, naturally illuminated during the day by a domed glass roof while seductively aglow under softly lit chandeliers in the evening, The Lanesborough Grill offers a truly memorable dining experience. Menu highlights include Coronation Crab Salad, Beef Wellington and Dover Sole, many of which are prepared table-side adding some restaurant theatre. Signature dining experiences include traditionally British Afternoon Tea and Sunday Lunch. The Lanesborough Grill is located at Hyde Park Corner, Knightsbridge, London.
I recently visited Lanesborough Grill with my best friends to try their three-course festive menu, and it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. The evening began with warm bread and butter—simple, yet comforting and fresh. For starters, I had the terrine of duck and corn-fed chicken paired with a laminated truffle roll. The combination was rich and indulgent, with the truffle adding a luxurious touch. My main course was the cod and shrimps, which was the highlight of the meal for me. The dish was beautifully presented, and the flavors were perfectly balanced—delicate yet flavorful. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into crafting this plate. To end the meal, I had the honeycomb and caramel yule log for dessert. It was a sweet, festive finale that felt indulgent without being overly heavy—a perfect way to conclude the evening. The service at Lanesborough Grill truly stood out. Both the waitstaff and the sommeliers were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, enhancing our experience significantly. The restaurant itself exudes warmth and coziness, making it an ideal spot for a special festive meal. Overall, Lanesborough Grill delivers not just in terms of food but also ambiance and service. I’d highly recommend their festive menu for anyone looking to celebrate the season with elegance and flavor.
Excellent service and atmosphere. We also really liked the food (we tried all the options from the Festive set menu), highly recommended.
We had Michelin set menu today. Superb service, fantastic food and reasonable price for what we got. This is a very good experience. Loved it! Champagne was amazing. I also got a champagne cocktail. It was also great. Crab Macaroni was fantastic. Beef Wellington was super tender. I also really enjoyed the dessert and the after dessert gift sweets. Amazing overall.
Excellent. Amazing food, superb service, beautiful ambience. The meal and bread with butter outstanding well worth the experience. From the entrance to the wait staff the service was pleasant. As a delightful surprise, they treated us to a complimentary dessert. 🤩
Absolutely tasteless and expensive. We went for lunch today. The starters were decent, but the main course, the meat, was terrible. It was tough to chew, hard to cut, and of very poor quality. The desserts were bland. We didn’t enjoy anything at all. It’s a real shame about the money and time wasted. Half an hour later, we barely made it to the restroom; on top of everything, we got food poisoning
Had booked the Bridgerton afternoon tea for myself and the staff were really accommodating as I had my walking stick. The sandwiches were lovely, and the desserts were too pretty to eat (but were throughly enjoyed) Could not fault the service as I had my tea + water topped up, asking which dessert was my favourite and also chatting about the hotel cat Lilibet who I had met in the lobby. The setting is stunning as well which did make the afternoon tea that more regal. Would love to come here again.
Went for Bridgerton Afternoon Tea. They were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions so well! Truly above and beyond. The sandwiches were flavorful and moist. The scones were fresh baked. The pastries so gorgeous. The service was top tier, they made it such a joy to spend a few hours sipping tea. The unlimited sandwiches and scones, tea and coffee made this an incredible deal. I will certainly be recommending and returning!
OH MY GOODNESS. How beautiful is this beautiful restaurant. I was absolutely stunned and could not keep my eye away from all the intriguing details. And the customer service was beyond welcoming, everyone we encountered during our Afteroon Tea was so pleasant and wholesome. Very special people working here. We were excited to enjoy the Bridgerton Afternoon Tea. The execution and details were so fun and accurate, from the moment you are welcomed with a letter from Lady Whistledown to all the personalized details of the menu items. And the quality of the food and drinks were fantastic. I would have to say the Lanesborough tea was my personal favorite tea but we thoroughly enjoyed all of the savory and sweet sandwiches and pastries. The scones were probably the best scones I have ever had! One of the highlights of my trip to London!
While the restaurant exhibits flashes of sophistication, the overall experience left much to be desired, particularly for a venue positioning itself as a destination for luxury dining. The evening began with a cold tomato soup that, while vibrant and refreshing, suffered from an imbalance in execution. The addition of olives, while clearly intended to add depth, was far too heavy-handed, leaving the dish overly salty and detracting from its delicate freshness. The gnocchi, unfortunately, was a significant disappointment. Presented as a minimalist dish, it arrived as a mere eight pieces, bereft of sauce and, worse, served lukewarm. Gnocchi demands warmth and a complementary element be it a sauce, butter to elevate its texture and flavor. This dish felt unfinished, as though it had bypassed a critical stage of preparation. The dessert, a chocolate slice, fell flat as well. Its overly sweet, cloying profile felt more akin to a mass-market chocolate than the indulgent, sophisticated finale one expects in such a setting. Dessert is often the highlight of a fine dining experience, but here it served only to underscore the meal s lack of finesse. Beyond the food, the atmosphere had its own inconsistencies. The live music, while a welcome touch, was simply too loud for comfortable conversation, detracting from the intended ambiance of understated elegance. Furthermore, I couldn t help but notice details in the decor such as scratch marks on the walls that felt incongruous with the restaurant s otherwise polished aesthetic. Such oversights are surprising in a venue of this caliber. Considering the brand, I expected a meticulously curated and flawless experience. I did not. That said, I hope to return in the future and see the restaurant rise to the level its aspirations suggest
Delicious afternoon tea sandwiches (with unlimited refills), but I wasnt as impressed with their teas or Bridgerton theming. I made a reservation on Sunday at 4:30 pm to celebrate my moms retirement. When I had booked several monthes back, the reservation mentioned that champagne was included, however, this is not the case while theyre serving festive tea. Instead, a twist on a margarita cocktail or non alcoholic blooming wallflower drink is included. The cocktail was delicious and quite cute with a coconut edge and feather sticking out of the cherry. For tea, my mom and I ordered the Bridgerton blend and my dad ordered the Lanesborough breakfast tea. We did not like the Bridgerton blend, so my mom ordered the Lanesborough breakfast tea instead and I ordered the white choco chili tea, which tasted much better! The sandwiches were the highlight of the tea, and included turkey cranberry, egg, cucumber, and smoked salmon. There was also a traditional mince pie included. They came by with refills of all four sandwiches. The scones arrived warm with clotted cream, lemon curd, and raspberry preserve. The desserts were my moms least favorite part of the tea. I thought they were fine but a few seemed to taste very similar. In regards to the theme, I was not wowed. The desserts were named after characters from Bridgerton in the menu but that seemed to be the extent of the theming. The desserts looked like they could have been part of any holiday teas rather than a Bridgerton tea. Perhaps the regular tea is more themed.
I had booked a dinner reservation for me and my wife as we haven t dined at the Lanesborough hotel before. However due to unforeseen circumstances with my wife going into labour I had to cancel, I informed them asap and sent an email as this was completely out of our control and we had every intention of attending. This isn t something I would lie about however instead of the hotel being accommodating they still charged me 50% for this which is very unfortunate. Going forward I won t be recommending this venue to dine at as they aren t accommodating and that already has set the expectation of the venue. The Dorchester is not only luxurious but the food is exceptional and the service is always outstanding they are also very accommodating in regards to bookings.
This is good restaurant
Amazing service - very clean and all staff were very friendly and accommodating! Would definitely recommend!
Nice place
Great venue,great food, great experience
Very good and nice
The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and the [mention unique feature, e.g., dessert menu or drink pairings] was a delightful touch. I can t recommend this restaurant enough! Whether youre celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying a night out, this is the spot to be. We ll definitely be back soon!
This place is amazing great food great atmosphere I recommend it to everyone
I loved getting to know this place, not to mention the spectacular cuisine, I will definitely go back again, it has become my favorite restaurant
Great service, food is amazing and the stuff are really friendly. Highly recommend, can t wait to go back there.
Lovely place, great food, excellent staff, very polite. Would eat here again. Kid-friendliness: Very friendly, good atmosphere Food : 5/5 |
Amazing food.
Good service
Refined Cuisine. Had an amazing experience. Will visit again.
The staff is very attentive and helpful, the cook is the highest level
Best food I had in a while I definitely recommend to eat. Here and the staff was fantastic
Extremely yummy food. suggest to anyone looking for an exquisitely yummy place to eat.
Fantastic dining experience.
We had a great experience at our Afternoon Tea at the Lanesborough. There was a hiccup with our drinks order, but the staff especially Francesco, the manager went above and beyond to ensure we have a fabulous time overall. Vegetarian options: Vegeterian afternoon tea contains fish gelatine which can be more clearly noted on the website but the staff makes you aware at the start of the order.
Amazing as always. Keep up the good work!
Wonderful food, great service and an atmosphere of elegance and luxury. Lovely to hear the pianist play. The Bridgerton afternoon tea was a success.
We booked for dinner at the Lanesborough and chose the set menu. Top customer service and food quality was exceptional. Would recommend this establishment for dining experience.
Best service xD
Beautiful setting. Okay food. Little atmosphere. Meal for 2 with a couple glasses wine each was nearly £400 as a special treat it was not worth the money.
Truly exceptional - staff, food and experience.
Food, service, ambience, everything was amazing
Bad service!! Title: A Disappointing Afternoon Tea Experience I recently the Lanesborogh for afternoon tea, and I must say, it was an incredibly disappointing experience. The service was subpar. Our server seemed disinterested and inattentive, which set the tone for the rest of our visit. The tea selection was mediocre, and the presentation of the food left much to be desired. The sandwiches were dry, the scones were crumbly, and the pastries were far from fresh. However, the most egregious part of our visit was how our leftover food was handled. After struggling through the underwhelming spread, we decided to take the remaining food home. To our dismay, the staff packed all our leftovers together in a single container. This meant that our delicate pastries were squished against the sandwiches, resulting in a soggy, unappetizing mess. The scones, which we hoped to salvage, were crushed under the weight of the other items. This careless packaging not only ruined what little enjoyment we could have had from the leftovers but also demonstrated a lack of consideration for food quality and customer satisfaction. Today was my mum s birthday and she was still making her wish and blowing out the candle until we were interrupted by staff holding the bill next to us, completely ruining the moment. Its clear that this restaurant does not pay attention to detail or prioritize their customers experiences. Overall, our visit was a letdown. The lackluster food, poor service, and appalling way they handled our leftovers ensure that we wont be returning. I would not recommend this place to anyone seeking a pleasant afternoon tea experience.
Delicious food, very attentive staff
Great food, great atmosphere.
Absolutely superb ! - Travelzoo voucher From the moment we walked into the restaurant the service was impeccable. The sommelier came up with an excellent red wine ( and end of evening cocktail ) within our budget and the staff were helpful and extremely friendly. The food was tasty and the fish was cooked to perfection. May thanks to Husna and all the team at the Grill for making us feel very welcome
Exceptional lunch served in a stylish environment. Great experience!
Beautiful dinner with my family, perfect service proper for a luxury restaurant in a luxury hotel.
We had a truly lovely time at the Lanesborough Grill. We were greeted warmly by staff members on entering and that warmth continued throughout our visit. The ambience is luxurious, the grill is beautifully decorated and along with the sumptuous furnishings offers a comfortable and relaxed experience. The food was absolutely delicious and the wine was superb. As you might guess, we enjoyed a really fabulous visit to the Lanesborough Grill.
Beautifully presented, decorative food. The starters were wonderfully dressed, full of flavour and colour, whilst the mains and desserts were delicious and again well presented, all delightfully served by the attentive staff. Ideal for enjoying a three-course lunch without it feeling too heavy or over-indulgent; these dishes seem light yet substantial at the same time, Dont skip on dessert - this literally is the cherry on top!
Lovely restaurant, perfect service and great food. The set menu is good value and a nice range of choices. Will definitely come back
Such a lovely experience Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and they were great including bringing me a little GF loaf Food : 5/5 |
Great food and service in my birthplace. Still waiting for the blue plaque.
Absolutely amazing place. Food was perfect and the staff were very attentive. The rooms were delightful too with a calming ambiance. Brought my daughter here for a special occasion and she really enjoyed every moment. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
WOW
The staff were amazing and very friendly. The food however was absolutely shocking. I would go so far as to say it was probably the worst meal I have ever eaten. Actually not eaten because I couldnt eat it. It is was under cooked bland and utterly disgusting
Excellent service and good. good place for lunch and tea.
Excellent restaurant!! The dishes are excellent and the service very friendly and attentive.. Thank you for the welcome
Absolutely wonderful afternoon tea, friendly attentive staff, will definitely return.
Beautiful place, very chic, with excellent cuisine and a nice wine list, impeccable service.
Although food and service was great, it was marred by a plastic strip found in the onion bread
This hotel grill was amazing food to die for .The three course we had were out of this world for taste and presentation was super the pudding was the best I ve ever had we will be going back this year as was so good
A beautiful room and the perfect setting for afternoon tea. The staff were all super attentive and the vibe was really serene. The cakes were good but the real star of the show was the finger sandwiches, I actually ordered more! Price-wise, its what youd expect for afternoon tea at a hotel in London and stepping through the doors felt like stepping into an oasis on a busy Saturday. Would defo recommend for afternoon tea! Dietary restrictions: Im not vegetarian but I dont like fish so they happily swapped it out for an alternative sandwich. They also have a full vegetarian menu.
Steps away from Buckingham Palace, The Lanesborough is a Regency style hotel located at Hyde Park Corner in Londons Knightsbridge. The afternoon tea in The Lanesborough Grill is not to be missed. I thoroughly enjoy the tea. The food was excellent, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was spectacular.
What a truly wonderful hotel / restaurant. The staff were so pleasant & accommodating. Would highly recommend a visit.
If youre looking for a real treat then this is it.
We went for a sunday roast for my fathers birthday. They gave my father a birthday card when we got there which I thought was a nice touch. The starter was amazing. O cant fault it. I had the potted salmon - highly recommend! The cheeses were delicious but were ruined by the fruity crackers that accompanied them. The roast was disappointing, especially after reading such good reviews. There was barely any gravy, the horseradish just tasted like cream, the yorkshire puddings were spongy and thick, and we only were served 2 thin slices of cold beef. The service was impeccable and the pianist was amazing but the actual restaurant lacked atmosphere and it wasnt as busy as I was expecting.
Was unable to redo starter which was crab and had lots of shallots on it. They couldnt serve it without shallots. Other restaurant chefs have been able to adapt.
Last minute booking on a Friday night. Unfortunately they ran out of the beef Wellington but what we did have was lovely Beef tartare was v tasty - and elected to have the Dover sole for mains. My other half selecting the scallops and venison which he said were very good Good wine list - some random years but overall not bad Lovely service from the team from start to finish - will def be back!
Nice ambience, delicious food and fantastic service throughout. Special thanks to Giusu for her hospitality, she has made our wedding anniversary celebration very special. Also would like to compliment Rafael for his attention and advise on wine choices. Highly recommend this restaurant
No words needed. Simply exquisite.
Fabulous meal, in lovely surroundings, served by professional staff all of whom had lovely dispersions and lovely sense of humours...... Oh, and the pianist was fabulous too.... I would recommend it to anyone in the area to try...
Indulging in flavors that make life delicious, great service highly recommended.
Exquisite. Food and service Michelin listed for good reason.
Wonderful lovely top place
Wonderful pre-Christmas lunch with old work colleagues. Beautiful food, genial ambience & outstanding service. Congratulations to the staff who absolutely made the visit a special occasion.
Excellent
Incredible food and very reasonable. Ordered the seafood cocktail for starter which was very fresh. There was a generous amount of seafood and overall was quite filling. Ordered the cod for main course- while it wasnt seasoned a lot, it was cooked perfectly. The sauce and veg went well with the fish. For dessert, ordered the chocolate ganache and this was delightful. I especially enjoyed the earl grey ice cream. Service was exceptional as expected although our waiter/ sommelier seemed a bit unsure on some wine suggestions. I will definitely be returning to try the rest of the A la Carte.
Food faultless, staff friendly and attentive. Will definitely go back again. One of the nicest afternoon teas in town.
Had lunch with my girlfriend had coffee and tea in the salon first, then had a steak with brussels sprouts, could not be better! Nice place for a date!
We visited the Grill Restaurant today and we although we enjoyed our food very much, unfortunately when we reflected back on it we were disappointed with the overall experience. Firstly we were not offered our inclusive glass of champagne and had to ask for it at the time of receiving our starters. We also waited a long time for someone to take our order for a bottle of wine and when he came to take the wine order (whilst we were in the middle of eating our starters) it resulted in a glass of water being spilt all over the table trying to look at the wine list whilst eating. Nobody came to refill our empty wine glasses and when I attempted to reach across the table to get the bottle a waiter saw and rushed over to take it from me and pour it. When we received our deserts, mine which was not what I had expected so I thought that I had chosen the wrong one. But when I was half way through eating it, a waiter arrived at the table with another desert admitting that I had indeed been given the wrong desert and placed the correct one on the table for us to try. Although we paid the 15% service charge, on reflection it was not worth the service we received. Such a shame that due to this we will not be returning as overall it was the not the experience we had hoped for.
We had lunch. Great atmosphere and excellent food. The service was impeccable. Food : 5/5
Very poor service in the grill although the library bar was excellent hence the two stars. The speed of service was really slow as was the drink service. The surliness of our waitress was extreme. Delivery was poorly executed for both food and wine.
Beautiful afternoon tea but we eaten put in a corner and it was very empty
Everything about this restaurant felt like a treat. Very attentive staff and the menu was a delight. Great place for special occasions or simply to celebrate life! Definitely recommend!
Just awesome place and dishes also delicious
Special, kind, service
Top place, refined and elegant, we take our time, we savor the dishes, we admire the beautiful room. Attentive service and good wine advice! We will return with great pleasure!
A jewel in London s crown. Came for my birthday, with my wife and baby for the Sunday lunch. The whole team were amazing with us, from the moment we arrived to the time we left. Hats off to Rafael who stood out with his excellent sommelier skills.
Beautiful interior and hotel. Great food and service
Very very disappointing !!! An hour and a half for our food to be served. Quality was very poor. A piece of steak that was literally not edible !
Good atmosphere for special occasions
Great restaurant but the staff aren t that kind. Had good food though. It is very expensive. Someone will be playing lovely music in the main hall.
We extremely enjoyed our Sunday Roast, the service was impeccable and the ambience was very pleasant. A huge Thank you to Adam and Diego for looking after us so well. Highly recommended Service
Very professional service and good quality food. Highly recommend. We had the set menu and was very happy with the choices
Not enough stars for this establishment absolutely brilliant service, quality, and style Thank you for a lovely evening Rooms
Just amazing food in a fantastic location. A real London treat. Dont forget to look for Lilibet the cat!
Had dinner in the grill and cocktails in the bar. Cocktails were good and very well presented. Food was very good, the vegetable side was a bit over salted for my taste. Service was a bit slow.
A magnificent place in an equally exceptional hotel. Very pleasant and refined cuisine. Very attentive and very friendly staff.
Great atmosphere with live music and good quality food. I recommend the hash brown cubes and the beef wellington. The service was attentive and the dining area was beautiful!
Lovely afternoon tea experience they were very attentive but not overly. The sandwiches were good, but the cakes and scones really stood out as outstanding!
Excellent for ambience, atmosphere, service and quality of food.
Our first night in London, we ate dinner at The Lanesborough Grill. This is a newly updated restaurant and the atmosphere was classic London. The high ceilings, great light that came through and comfy seats. The staff and our server Georgia was so sweet and accommodating. We choose the 3 course meal and it was wonderful. The best beef Wellington we ve ever had. They even offer mocktails which was fun and playful. Overall it s worth a visit for dinner or tea time.
Very expensive, but a great experience for a special occasion.
We went for Afternoon Tea. Stunning location and 5 star service. Oh, and the quality of the food was superb. Walkability: An easy walk from Hyde Park corner tube or 20 mins walk from Victoria.
Incredible meal and lovely service
Perfect little hotel for short city break. Amazing location within walking distance to almost anywhere. Great rooms and view, good food. Spa is a must try, convenient gym.
Delicious afternoon tea
Best beef Wellington ever! This is a must try dish in this restaurant. The crab salad was also very nice but the scallops could be better. For dessert we had rhum baba which was very nice and flavorful. Overall very recommended, very high class place with chic interior. Right in front of Hyde park.
An amazing experience for Sunday lunch, highly recommend
One of the best fine dinings I have tried in London.
everything lives up to the hotels reputation.
Wonderful afternoon tea
Had a great evening in the restaurant. The layout of the restaurant is spacious, grand, and comfortable. Think it gave us a very relaxing vibe for a wonderful family and celebration occasion. Great choices from the set menu and the team is very attentive and knowledgeable. Think it really enhanced our experience of the evening. Good food quality and I left feeling satisfied and yet not too full from a three course meal.
Whilst the food for afternoon tea was excellent, it was very delayed. The tea selection was limited. The menu did not have background information about the contents of the afternoon tea unlike others. The service in the restaurant was a bit slow and impersonal, but the hotel staff outside the restaurant were world class.
Food was amazing and staff were incredibly kind for my birthday tea. I left behind a present and the staff were wonderfully attentive in finding it for me and keeping safe until I could return and collect it. Tadgh and colleagues were very helpful!
We had a marvelous high tea. Great ambiance and service.
Set meal experience but it wasnt clear from the menu exactly what was included although some items incurred a supplement cost. We were asked whether we wanted drinks but no list was provided. It was quiet with lots of staff and the service like the food was excellent. I appreciate that it isnt cheap but feel the way they charged for the extras by breaking the bill down and charging for each item then crediting the original set meal payment meant the benefit was lost resulting in a higher cost than expected; but maybe the drinks really are that expensive!
The prices were reasonable, considering the quality of food and service. Great value for money.
Superb lunch. Staff very professional and helpful. Food and drinks: Excellent choice Service : 5/5 |
We had our anniversary Lunch here, and it sure was a Wow! Factor experience. Everything from the moment we walked into the hotel was wonderful & the restaurant was truly an amazing experience. The staff were all so very welcoming and couldnt do enough to make sure we were comfortable and you had what needed and wanted. The food again was out of this world for individual taste and presentation. Every course was unique in its own right. We were not rushed at all during our anniversary luncheon experience. Sure hope we can return at some point in time.
Fantastic Lunch ,Staff very attentive can not wait to return
If your thinking of a place to enjoy great food , nice wines , excellent friendly service in a fabulous location then allow me to recommend The Lanesborough Grill. This was our first visit here and I can assure you it will not be our last. We arrived at the Lanesborough Hotel in it s perfect location on Hyde Park Corner and received a warm and friendly welcome. We were escorted to the restrooms where we could freshen up before lunch. Waiting for us at reception to the Grill was yet another very friendly welcome before being shown to our table. Once comfortable we looked around the dining room which was absolutely stunning with a classic old style feel. We immediately felt so relaxed and this was to continue throughout our time here. Our lunch got off to an excellent start as we were treated to a complimentary glass of champagne to welcome us to the restaurant. We enjoyed our champagne while browsing through the menu given to us by the lovely Manuela. She along with all the staff were a real credit to the industry. This on a Sunday is a three course menu with a very good selection of starters , mains (including a Sunday Roast) and desserts. If you so wish there s an opportunity to have a wine pairing with each course. This in the end was what we decided to choose. We started with some bread before moving on to the starters. STARTERS - To begin I enjoyed one of the best terrines to date. The Pressed Terrine of truffled corn fed chicken with chanterelle aioli and a cheddar brioche was amazing. My wife opted for the Roast Orkney Scallop with sea herbs and a lytham shrimps bearnaise and where the look on her face was enough to tell me how good it was. These dishes were perfectly paired with two fabulous wines. For the scallop a 2018 Grace Madeline from Cullen Wines in Australia and for the terrine a delightfully light and fruity Schaller French Pinot Noir. Before we moved on to our main course we were in for a really nice surprise as from the kitchen came a complimentary additional course of a Coronation Crab Salad with a curry and lime sabayon which was beautiful. There was even an extra pairing to accompany this dish a 2014 Domaine de Chevalier. This was a fabulous gesture from the team and when we spoke to manager Daniel we asked if he could pass on our thanks to the kitchen. MAINS - Well if our starters and our extra treat were a delight what was to follow was pure indulgence. My wife chose the Rhug Estate Lamb with roast aubergine stuffed lamb belly , natural yoghurt , spiced lamb and coriander dressing. For myself I went for the Beef Wellington with caramelised roscoff onion , tunworth cheese potatoes , pale ale and honey which was absolutely fantastic. Another two excellent wines were to accompany each dish. The lamb was paired with a 2017 Henschke Barossa and the beef a Torcicoda Primitivo 2020 full of black fruits and chocolate. DESSERTS - After a nice little break it was time for desserts. My wife though decided to opt for the supplemented Cheese Course where you were able to choose five cheeses from a fantastic selection of British and Irish cheeses accompanied of course by a glass of port. For myself I chose the Caramelised Brioche Pudding with burnt orange purée and buttermilk ice cream and a real delight it was to. This was paired perfectly with a 2017 Jurancon. We finished with coffee and petit fours to bring to an end an absolutely fabulous afternoon. The food was excellent , the wine pairings were perfectly matched , the staff are so friendly and professional and all this in a stunning location. This is definitely a place I would highly recommend and will certainly not be leaving it very long before I return myself. The menu on a Sunday is priced at Three Courses for £75 and the Wine Pairings are Three Glasses for £55 and when you consider the quality of produce and the location I easily consider this to be of great value. Thank You Daniel , Manuela , Shay , Diego , Zilbe for your amazing hospitality and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
Our lunch today was really good and we throughly enjoyed the whole experience! We had exquisite food and service and dined in a beautiful room
The best tea on London.
Excellent. My granddaughter and I were very happy with the food and the staff were delightful.
Just magnificent, both on the plate and the place.
Dining here was disappointing. Food was just ok and service was not up to the level of a 5 star hotel. Will not return
I had a great birthday lunch with my wife. We enjoyed a delightful 3 course meal in very nice surroundings. The service was excellent and one of the waiters explained the origins of the Lanesborough, which at one point had been a hospital which later moved to St Georges in Tooting, hence the Lanesborough Wing at St Georges. The dining area was actually the hospitals operating theatre. Forgive the distraction... back to lunch, the food was amazing as anticipated. For starters we had cured scottish salmon and a pressed terrine of truffle corn fed chicken with a cheddar brioche roll. For mains we had Suffolk belly pork and sea trout. For dessert we had a Rich Manhan chocolate cake with brandy ice cream. And for afters some petit fours. Recommended and all very delicious
An absolutely wonderful experience , truly worth their Michelin Star ! The ambiance was delicate and comfortable with soothing music and deep cushioned seating. The servers were attentive with impeccable manners and clearly took pride in their work. Food and drinks: The food.. well.. absolutely magical flavour combinations with gorgeous aesthetic presentation - Al ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection. You can have a great idea for a dish, but it takes true skill to produce such wonderful dishes. High appreciation ! We ll definitely be back and will be bringing others.
Had an excellent three course menu - booked through OpenTable, would recommend! Sophisticated interior and experienced staff.
We had the gluten free afternoon tea. The seating area itself is bright and makes you feel comfortable right away. The ambiente is a big plus. The sandwiches were ok, a little bit bland, missing sometimes a little salt. The gluten free scopnes were nice, I loved the lemon curd that the scones were served with. And the cakes were really good - i dont remember the name, but the blue one was totally outstanding! Overall a not cheap experience with semi good sandwiches, but good cake and ambiente AND gluten free!
An amazingly elegant afternoon tea location. The staff was like something out of an English movie and the dining area was inside a majestic Victorian solarium. The tea and sandwiches and pastries were amazing and the service was equal to the surroundings.
Food wasnt amazing for the price. Lots of surcharges Bill comes with a 15% tip added
Visited for the Bridgerton themed afternoon tea. It was excellent, as were staff abd service. Would recommend.
I absolutely adored this hotel, me and my Mum visited for the set menu lunch and it was faultless! Sea trout was cooked to perfection, the complimentary bread was so flavoursome, and the dessert quite possibly one of the best Ive ever had (which is a lot!). From the moment you arrive, everyone is on hand to escort you to where you need to be, very welcoming and nothing is too much for them. Interior is beautiful, very traditional. Thank you to the entire hospitality team at the Lanesborough for making us feel special, I look forward to returning in the near future!
AMAZING Afternoon Tea!! The staff is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about gluten free options and they take every precaution to ensure there is no cross-contamination. I made the Celiac designation in my reservation for afternoon tea and the staff was prepared to serve me gluten free sandwiches, scones, and dessert. 75 Euros was well worth the price for unlimited selection of teas and sandwiches. Amazing afternoon tea experience - highly recommend!! Walkability: Great location near Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park Food and drinks: Great gluten free options
Superb
Great atmosphere and staff! Excellent quality food!
Everything about our experience was excellent. Edmund- the concierge was excellent and made us feel incredibly welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. He guided us to the bar where we had excellent cocktails served by Sandro and I believe a gentleman called Michael gave us a bit of history on the Lanesborough. Dinner was top notch. Not only was the dining room gorgeous but the food was balanced, exquisitely prepared and tasted amazing! The crab, Wellington and lemon tart were sensational. The sommelier was kind and helped us pick a nice wine. My mum and I had some horrible luck with restaurants this week when she was over visiting. We really needed a win. So glad that we chose to come here. It is great to still see a place that delivers great food and excellent service in a gorgeous setting. Please go!
Just perfect in every way Food and drinks: Club sandwich is a nice snack Noteworthy details: Quintessential classy British vibe
My mother and I had a wonderful dinner at the Lanesborough. The service from all the staff was impeccable, from the concierge who looked after us wonderfully upon arrival, to Lilbet who directed us through reception...ahem. The menu choice was excellent, it was delicious and perfectly proportioned. In particular the wine options were extraordinary - we dine regularly in central London, and the Lanesboroughs wine cellar is in particularly excellent. We loved it and will be back again very soon, so thank you for a wonderful evening.
Just top notch all round. Sunday lunch to remember, with excellent food, excellent wines, excellent service and excellent ambience, complete with Brian, the excellent pianist (we ll say hello to Churchtown for you!). Guess what, we think it was excellent ! Properly 5 star deluxe. Food and drinks: Sunday lunch was excellent. Not cheap but worth the money.
Amazing settings, great service. Bridgeton tea was fabulous
Excellent afternoon tea. Do be sure to remove the tea bags from the pots after a minute so the tea doesnt get bitter.
Had the 3 course meal deal which was excellent from the start to the finish all food was 5star the restaurant Room was something else all the staff are an asset to the hotel if youre looking for a special experience this is the place to Go
Wonderful people and lovely food
My husband and I had the most wonderful lunch today, from the set menu. Everything was superb, and the service was fantastic. Incredibly good value and such a lovely experience. Thankyou so much to everyone at the Lanesborough for an unforgettable occasion. Cant wait to come back!
Always an excellent experience. The well composed food, perfect wine suggestions, lovely atmosphere and not least nice, professional, very welcoming service.
Everything you should expect in a five stars restaurant. A pity they dont serve individual portions of Wellington, but thats the norm on these places. The Grouse is highly recommend, easily the best dish in my London stay. Food
We had the most fantastic time at the hotel yesterday. There were four of us, the food was very good, well presented and in the most beautiful setting. The staff were lovely and friendly, very welcoming and attentive, the customer service was faultless, which is rare nowadays. All of us said we would not hesitate to go back to the The Lanesborough again, a very memorable day.
It was a fantastic experience overall. The ambiance is very elegant and intimate with the chandeliers, low light and music. The food was creative yet familiar, it was an experience on it s own. Our palate were blown away by the lamb, soft tender and flavourful. The cherry on top for us was the service we received from the staff, highly mention Uzman and Giorgia who were very attentive to our needs the whole time. They were witty, polite and kind to us whilst dinning and took care of us very well. I will recommend dinning here and we will definitely come back.
Really enjoyed myself
Just returned from an unforgettable evening at the Lanesborough Grill. Everything was faultless; the greeting at the door, the welcome into the restaurant- the warmth and courtesy of the staff is the best I have experienced in London. My boyfriend and I had only booked the previous evening but the staff were so beautifully accommodating and kind. This was a very belated birthday present and Andrea and Zilbe (without any obligation!) went out of their way to make me feel so special. I left the Lanesborough a bit teary- eyed at how wonderful our time had been and how kind the people are here. This goes beyond simply good staff- this is good people to their very core at their very best. Paul at the cloakroom was so wonderful and introduced us to the hotel s gorgeous resident cat Lilibet, who around this time of year enjoys living under the Christmas tree! We will undoubtedly be back- it felt like home away from home. I just cannot express how moving our experience was tonight, mostly thanks to the wonderful team that looked after us. Andrea, Zilbe, Paul and others. Thank you so much. We are just so looking forward to returning very soon.
Exceptional, quality service and succulent dishes.
Underwhelming afternoon tea experience. Went for afternoon tea today and spent 95£ for dry sandwiches, coffee tasking tea and average service. Was expecting so much more from this renowned afternoon tea. The reason I m giving 2 starts instead of 1 is because the decorations were beautiful for Christmas. I wouldn t recommend. Save your money and time and choose another afternoon tea.
Great place for afternoon tea. Staff is super friendly, beautiful lobby and everything in a Christmas atmosphere. You feel so completely at home. Patisserie is particularly tasty, a feast for the eyes
We had the festive set menu which was fantastic. The turkey wellington was a standout dish. Christmas roast expectations will never be the same now! The team was so good and attentive without being overbearing, the manager Zilbehar and Rebecca were outstanding.
Wonderful dinner at the Grill. We booked their set festive menu for our anniversary. The room is spectacular. Glorious and grand but not stuffy or too traditional. Service was just perfect - what you expect from a top dining experience. And the 3-course menu for £55 a person is beyond. You spend that much on food per person at your basic high street chain restaurant. We had cheddar tarts, caramelised brioche and butter, duck liver pate, turkey wellingtons, chocolate brownies and Christmas pudding. Everything was prepared to the highest level and delicious. But nicely sized portions and just enough pomp and circumstance you get with fine dining. They even brought a card and extra dessert for us to celebrate our anniversary. And the cocktails were spot on. What you expect from a 5-star hotel bar. Interestingly, we went to the brand new Peninsula Hotel next door for drinks beforehand. The Brooklands bar at the top was a lovely space with great drinks and views, so I recommend that as well. But overall, the Peninsula felt like a generic luxury hotel without character or history, whereas The Lanesborough was just spectacular from its heritage, design, Christmas decorations, and staff; everything was amazing. I normally go for more modern hotels, but considering all the buzz about the Peninsula, I will say I was disappointed. I will take The Lanesborough any day. What a treat! Thanks to their amazing team.
We had the festive set menu lunch and it was excellent. The turkey was super tender.
Light fish starters followed by turkey wellington was a great twist on seasonal favourites. Friendly staff and a calm atmosphere made it a perfect place to catch up with an old friend.
We booked lunch for my boyfriends birthday in September and they gave him nice card. The interior was fantastic and romantic. The presentation was lovely, the food was really tasty. The bread to start was my favourite, our mains were tender, and the confections was a nice way to end our lunch. Had an overall pleasant time, would visit again.
A wonderful experience. Exceptional service, warmth of greeting. Nothing too much trouble and a feeling we were cared about.
Festive afternoon tea with friends in this beautiful hotel. Food was amazing and staff couldnt be more courteous. This was my third visit and I would definitely rate it as one of the best Ive had.
Very tasty. The place is so beautiful
Overpriced and their Turkey dinner awful. Drinks well mixed - at a price...
This is definitely my favourite place for lunch in London. We are always so well looked after. The staff are amazing - so warm and welcoming every time . Add to that the beautiful setting and the yummy food. Just perfect every time. Thank you all. Food
Absolute delight!. Wonderful food, lovely ambience and friendly staff.
Had our first afternoon tea experience here. What an amazing setting. Staff were really friendly and attentive. Food was lovely and the cocktail option was very nice. Word of advice, wear something with an expandable waistline, youll need it! It was rounded off and made even more special by an unexpected lovely anniversary surprise. Couldnt fault anybody or anything. It was wonderful. Would highly recommend.
Bridgerton afternoon tea Dietary restrictions: Halal food
This is my first time in London, England to experience authentic British afternoon tea! The atmosphere is great and the food is exquisite! It is an unforgettable and happy experience!
Absolutely fabulous darling and Ill definitely be back
Perfect. Staff incredible, grand settings, super food (at £70 for perfect 3-course Sunday lunch very fairly priced - just watch out for the drinks bill: £32/glass of champagne, £62/tiny glass of fab red, £120/Yquem desert wine...). Perfect Filet Wellington, Sunday roast from beautiful silver carvery trolley - all could not be better. Even an adorable house cat.
Wanted to experience afternoon tea at The Lanesborough. What a beautiful hotel and inside the Grill there was impressive ornate decor. We were there for the festive afternoon tea menu. Unfortunately it looked better than it actually tasted. I found cartilage in my Chicken sandwich, really didnt expect this at a five star, prestigious hotel. The patisseries were pretty but didnt taste anything special. Staff were polite and friendly, except the supervisor who over explained on the cartilage and said it was edible. Also they got the meat free and the meat tray mixed up so my friend was confused with her sandwiches, luckily we double checked and they carried both tier racks away to check again. Overall it was nice but not of the exceptional quality youd expect from such a reputable hotel.
Amazing food, great service, the live musician was good whilst having your meal at the Grill Restaurant.
So beautiful, amazing atmosphere, the afternoon tea divine, the team so attentive, wish i were wealthy enough to visit more often
EXCELLENT AND CLASSY
Excellent
A little disappointing to be honest, food was amazing but took over an hour to arrive. Wed been there for 90 minutes before eating anything. When it did arrive it was exquisite, exactly what youd expect from somewhere of this calibre. All of our drinks were removed from the bill due to the delay. The atmosphere was excellent as there was a female singer and pianist who was brilliant. Amazing experience despite the delay.
Youd expect posh from somewhere like this, but this was better. They were friendly, welcoming made us feel really special. Im not used to first class, so this might be what you should expect. But this was a treat for my mums birthday and it was a delight. They even brought out a little extra treat with a candle for her.
This is the second time we dined here and were very much looking forward to a night of great food and entertainment for one of the Christmas Festive Nights. Regrettably, it didnt deliver on either. Although the hotel itself is one of our favourites, the food was not very well catered for our requirements. We asked if anything could be substituted and we could not. Vegetarian options were few, but it was a set menu for this month. A la carte was available. We were seated out of sight of the entertainment, and though we requested to move, we were not able to. The entertainment was simply a piano and a woman singing, rather poorly, I must add. Hardly any Christmas cheer to be had. Service was not on point either. Very slow, even though there were a number of staff members present. Disappointed is the word that sums this up.
Faultless...
