About

Located inside the landmark Edwardian Town Hall Hotel, Da Terra has an elegant and contemporary look which in addition to the restaurant has been elevated with a pre-dining lounge. Chef Rafael Cagali is of Brazillian and Italian origins, and these influences intertwine in a skilful and playfully crafted menu founded on these countries’ traditions as well as his international experiences. The intricately presented dishes are a symphony of flavours, deeply personal and comforting. The resulting cuisine showcases Cagali’s experimental style paired with world-class wines.

A culinary masterpiece awaits at Da Terra ,a two-Michelin-starred gem that has redefined fine dining. From the moment you step into the elegant ambiance, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of sophistication and anticipation greeting by Giovanni. The service is impeccable, with attentive staff who seamlessly anticipate your every need. The sommelier, Maria, a true wine connoisseur, expertly pairs each course with the perfect libation, enhancing the flavors and elevating the dining experience to new heights. But the true star of the show is the food. Each dish is a work of art, meticulously crafted with the finest ingredients and presented with stunning visual appeal. The flavors are exquisite, a symphony of taste sensations that tantalize the palate. Chef Mark's innovative approach to cuisine, combined with his team's mastery of classic techniques, results in a truly unforgettable dining experience. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the meal. Each course is a surprise, a delightful journey through a world of culinary creativity. Da Terra is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. It's a place where you can indulge your senses, savor every moment, and create lasting memories. If you're seeking a truly extraordinary dining experience, I wholeheartedly recommend . A special thanks to Giovanni, Maria, Chef Mark, " Matthew not Matthew :), Elliot, Ewan, Connor and the entire staff who made this incredible experience happen . Ps. THANKS for the Chiles . It was such a nice surprise, we have been enjoying them . And Maria it was great to have ran into you at the Chocolate shop. Best wishes, the Montes family

Da Terra A New Bar , a New Kitchen and New dishes on the menu all made for another amazing dining experience at Da Terra. We were given a warm welcome on arrival before being escorted into to the bar which is now where your lunch / dinner will begin. Here you can relax with a cocktail or glass of champagne while you enjoy some delicious Snacks and a chat with the team. Then you’ll be taken across into the refurbished dining room and see the new kitchen. We took our seats at our customary Table 10 and waited for the festivities to begin. First it was a chat with top sommelier Maria to discuss our wine preference. Now it was time for the New first course and stunning it was to. The Hamachi Pumpkin / Jackfruit/ Tucupi was absolutely delicious. This was followed by the The Quail , Tortellini in Brodo / Black Truffle , Sourdough , The Moqueca before the arrival of the amazing New main course. The British Wagyu Beef , Cep / Cavolo Nero / Lobster Rice personally I thought it was the stand out dish of the day. Next to come was the Romeo and Juliette (cheese course) , the Baba before finishing with the New dessert of Fig , Sheep Yogurt / Sagu / Oxalis. We finished with coffee and petit fours to bring to and end a fabulous afternoon. The food was stunning , the wine pairings were amazing and the service was first class. The New Bar is a great addition and a wonderful place to enjoy an aperitif or digestive. The New kitchen looks fabulous and you now get an excellent view of the whole team at work. Rafael , Charlie and the team have continually been pushing forward every year in the pursuit of absolute perfection and personally something which I think is not far away. Many Thanks to the whole team for an incredible dining experience and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

I can only describe this place as an exceptional dining experience. My husband and I went for our anniversary and we were truly blown out of the water with how amazing everything was. This was our first two star Michelin restaurant and I could definitely see the difference. The presentation, flavor, and thought behind every dish was truly a delight. The Moqueca inspired dish was out of this world, along with the wagyu. The Romeo and Juliet dessert was such an elegant piece of art that it was hard to eat because I’d rather look at it. The lemoncello sugar candy at the end was also sublime, super think sugar coating with a nice shot in the middle 🫶. I won’t post all our photos because I’d rather you be surprised by the experience. Highly highly recommend. Hats off to the chef for such a thoughtful dinner.

This restaurant deserves a Michelin 2-star rating. Every course was presented delicately. The flavors were deep and harmonized well, with a thoughtful use of diverse ingredients that complemented each other perfectly. However, one downside is its location, which is far from central London, and public transportation is not nearby. Despite this, I highly recommend the restaurant to people from all over the world and look forward to returning.

We had the 8 course tasting menu. Amazing food! Great service! I didn't find the dessert dishes impressive but my husband enjoyed them. Loved the surprise birthday cake - it's really nice. It tasted better than the desserts on the menu.

Limitless respect to Rafael Cagali and to the whole Da Terra team. First things first, the food is absolutely delicious. I can’t even comment on it, because every dish has its own unique flavour, and it’s hard to describe with words. I found the serving of duck, as well as ice cream with black caviar just mind blowing. What I loved about this place is two things: 1. it is very relaxed. Despite all high acknowledgments, everyone is very welcoming and not pretentious. And 2. there is not a single accidental detail in this place. Every piece of decor, food, serving has a story, connecting Rafael, the team, Brazil and to be honest the whole world. It felt very special. In addition to this, the team went above and beyond to cater for my dietary restrictions, and trust me, there are more than 20. I know it is very challenging, and I was beyond impressed. If you have dietary restrictions and allergy, you can feel absolutely safe dining at Da Terra. To me, it’s 3* experience. Looking forward to be back!

If only talking about the savoury courses the food would've been a 4/5, but the desserts were such a let-down. The service was for the most part just as impeccable as you'd expect, however it would have been nice to have an overview of how many courses and what to expect because the first few amuse-bouche plates felt very rushed because we mistakenly thought we had already had our first 3 courses in the first few minutes. Also one or two of the staff recited a script much too quickly rather than actually talking to you, so for the first few plates we were guessing what we were eating (we saw a written menu at the end of the meal). Caipirinha cup was okay. The cocktails were beautifully presented (see Da Terra carved in the ice). The 3 amuse bouche bites were DELICIOUS. The savoury plates were all very good with outstanding presentation. I believe we may have had the best seat in the house too, directly in front of the open kitchen to see the chefs at work. Things went a little downhill with desserts. The first cheese/guava dish I thought was interesting, the cheese was quite intensely flavoured rather than creamy as is typical in cheese desserts. The dessert that was topped with caviar was sadly a 0/5. I have a very broad palate and there's not much that I find truly off-putting, but highly salty caviar, creamy ice cream, sponge and bathed in a spirit... The flavours were so out of sync. I went for a second bite to try and appreciate the pistachio ice cream, but the caviar and alcohol completely overwhelmed it. The pineapple dessert was a little better, but I did not eat past my first bite. Surprisingly, staff did not ask us how we liked the desserts when they collected almost full plates back. I was kindly gifted a chocolate tart as it was my birthday and a card which was a very nice gesture. The final dessert pieces were interesting flavours but nothing wowed us. Sadly the liqueur candy, which we were warned was fragile, was so fragile that it broke/disintegrated as I picked it up, so all I could do was lick my finger. I'm glad we came and we had a nice experience overall, but it didn't meet my expectations of a 2* Michelin restaurant.

Had an amazing dinner with work colleagues while on a business trip. The tasting menu was had by all and the group had a mix of normal wine pairings, the premium wine pairings and the mixed alcoholic and non-alcoholic pairings. Service was impeccable as was the food. The evening was a journey into the heart and mind of Chef Cagali! Each course had a story to go with it that added to the experience. The group enjoyed the dinner so much that one of us came back during their honeymoon trip. I will look for reservations when business brings me back to London for sure. Thank you to the Chef and staff for an unforgettable evening

We had an absolutely amazing dinner here. All dishes were excellent. I think daTerra is much better than some three star restaurants in London and definitely on the level of Core and Gordon Ramsay. There are some Brazilian influences that make this tasting menu much more interesting than your average fine dining experience.

Very underrated! Food uniformly excellent with fun Brazilian notes and no let downs. Snacks and desserts are very strong. Indulgent but not interminable (a snappy 2.5 hours) as many tasting menus are .. Wine pairing gets a big shout out for being generous, interesting and delicious (vs other restaurants where it often seems a mechanism to screw you.) Atmosphere relaxed and cool. Staff ofc lovely and not overbearing. Also possible to get a table at something less than 3 months, at a reasonable time.

Michelin two stars. The overall meal is Brazilian-style tortellini and they are delicious! Finally, they are no longer cheese-filled dumplings. The bread is also great! Especially their seasoned butter. You can never get tired of it or get enough of it. The main course is a kind of fish from Brazil with spicy and sour side dishes. It s delicious and satiates your cravings. This kind of combination is really rare in restaurants, and it is a restaurant where you can come again

If you make a reservation at Da Terra, my advice is don t get sick: they ll charge you £230 per head for precisely nothing. My partner and I have been to quite a few tasting menu type experiences, and Da Terra was easily more than double the next most expensive. We were prepared to give it a go on the strength of the positive reviews here and a friend s recommendation. Whether the food is worth the eye-watering cost, however, is a question I can t answer for you. We fell ill on the day of our reservation and would likely have spent the evening vomiting in the restaurant s bathroom had we attended. Requests for any leniency given the circumstances beyond our control were met with a resounding too bad. One might expect amiable customer service at such astronomical prices, but all we got was a heartless reiteration of Da Terra s cancellation policy (the cost per head for a cancellation is more than quadruple the next highest I have seen). So thanks, Da Terra, for making a bad day worse. I hope the owners are happy: whether or not it s any good as a restaurant, it s certainly an efficient machine for seperating you from your money. We won t risk a further reservation.

London has a lot of very good restaurants and a few exceptional ones. An exceptional restaurant has to get everything right and create an indelible memory of time, place, feeling and flavours. We celebrated our 40th anniversary here with our London based son and his husband -who have dined here on previous occasions. Da Terra does everything exceptionally well. The staff are a credit to Rafael Cagali and made the experience feel very personal. The degustation menu is inspired . I can feel a bit anxious about degustation menus incase the balance isn t right or it all tastes same same. There s a lot that can go wrong. We loved every single dish. It was wonderful for us to have Rafael Cagali come to our table to chat and present a course. Thank you. Do not hesitate to book a table at Da Terra.

My partner and I went to Da Terra last Saturday to celebrate our first anniversary. We like to say that one of our deepest love languages is food as we are always exploring restaurants, either local neighbourhood food stalls or Michelin starred menus. Both of us are from Brazil, so we were really curious to check this Brazilian-inspired menu created by a Brazilian Michelin-starred (twice!) chef. My expectations were high, but I didn t leave disappointed at all. To be fair, I was still very much surprised. Although the menu was a surprise, I had checked previous menu samples online and I was expecting a fish moqueca from the state I was born. It was delicious. Yes, it s not your mum s traditional recipe, but I wasn t expecting it to be. In fact, the chef s signature moqueca improved its flavour in many ways. It was rich and full of personality. Different, but just like a moqueca should be. However, as much as I was expecting the moqueca to be my favourite part, I was personally and emotionally touched by the quail tortellini soup. I was born and raised in Bahia, but my family comes from a Italian community in Caxias do Sul, in the southernmost state of Brazil. The italian food my family eats is slightly different from the contemporary praised Italian cuisine. We eat polenta, quail, and tortellini soup. I believe the chef has a similar background because he managed to catch the identity of Italian communities in Brazil and improve it in his own way. When I said I got emotional, I really mean it. I thought of the many evenings when I was still living in Brazil and we gathered in my grandpa s place to eat this kind of soup. I think this is the beauty of this restaurant. It gives a slice of what Brazil really is and its many influences. At the same time, it also tells a story about the chef himself and, of course, about me as well. What an amazing way to spend our anniversary. I plan to come again on my birthday.

The service was impeccable, with the staff being very attentive and extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the menu, this extended to the sommelier, she was able to give us some great recommendations that complimented our meal perfectly. Personal highlight, the chef piling on caviar on top of the most excuisit cachaça baba. Excellent food and service. Been to many 2-3 star restaurants and this was excellent. So why 4 stars? The wine package could be better. First off, it is a bit weird to have 3 rounds of pre dinner snacks but no wine. No wine to cheers the start of the dinner/evening. As the wine package only starts at the first real course. To be fair they did tell us that up front. So, why did we not order a glass of wine to start with? We thought that we would have 7 glasses of wine during the dinner. That would already be a lot of alcohol. However these glasses are really small. Probably only 75ml for the 5 normal wines and 2 smaller dessert wines. So it ended up not too heavy on the liver. So my advice, either skip the wine package and just order 3-4 normal glasses. ( probably the same price ) Or Da Terra, please make the first glass a glass of bubbles ( with an option for a more fancy bubble) and skip 1 of the 2 sweet wines. That is what we would do next time!

The fish stew course (Moqueca) was definitely a stand out but every course was delicious. The staff were all amazing too and it was such a nice, relaxed atmosphere with some great 80s tunes in the background! Highly recommended!!!

Where to start, if you are in London and even remotely want a fine dining experience you need to get on the tube and go to Da Terra in East London. It was an absolutely amazing experience. The chef is a genius, and more importantly his staff is spot on. The restaurant might be small, and the number of staff is limited, but they treat everyday like it might be their last, I can t imagine the stress if everyday was the Super Bowl. They make fine dining casual if that is even something you could think is possible. Unlike a stuffy French chef running the kitchen from his perch this chef came out and helped serve and greet guests. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed every moment. The best part is I eat meat and my wife is vegetarian, and they had unique and extremely delicious dishes for both of us. I don t know why they haven t gotten a third star yet honestly. Everything was spot on and the staff from the guy refilling your water to the head chef were the absolute best. Also, see if you can spot all of the ninja turtles.

LOVE. If anyone is tired of contemporary European, this is the place to try. Especially in summer! The plating was quirky, beautiful and surprising and obviously a lot of thoughts have been put in plating. Snacks, starters and main courses were so unique and creative yet super delicious. The pace and quantity of food was perfect (not a lot of 1/2 star restaurants did well on these aspects. Can t remember how many times I just couldn t eat anymore during main course) However the cheese was a bit to adventurous for me, and the baba was like a bit too creative but it ended with a very pleasant pineapple coconut dessert. Overall LOVE. Don t think a 2 star restaurant is desperate for my review, but will defo revisit!!!

A couple of canapés kicked the meal off to a great start. An amuse-bouche of prawn, vodka and tomato was so tasty and warm. The rich shellfish flavour of the prawn married perfectly with the tangy and strong flavours of the tomato and alcohol. It was also served in one of the coolest bowls I have seen. A delicate and vibrant dish of hamachi with a pea dashi followed. The next dish was named Humble Chicken. This was just great; so rich, so satisfying and above all so delicious. The bread and butter was very nice but I didnt like the bone marrow spread beside it as it was far too rich and had very little flavour. The texture reminded me of hardened fat. Next, I had a sophisticated version of Moqueca, a Brazilian fish stew. The aged turbot was good but slightly too chewy for me. The sauce was packed with all the flavours of the seafood. It had a good spicy kick too. The main meat dish was pork with morels and endive. It was tender and had a good meat-to-fat ratio. The morel added plenty of flavour. The refreshing and subtly sweet bitterness of the endive balanced the dish. A cheese course named Romeo & Juliette came next. It came in the form of a smooth and sweet cheese which had set to form a small cylinder, topped with a delicate guava gel. This was one of the best cheese courses I have eaten. It could have easily been eaten as a dessert. The first dessert was a Baba, which was served with pistachio ice cream and caviar. Unfortunately, this dessert wasnt the one for me. The liquor was too bitter and the caviar added an overly salty flavour. The flavours were rather unusual. There wasnt enough sweetness. The main dessert of pineapple and coconut, on the other hand, was gorgeous. The coconut parfait was cool and had a great consistency. The pineapple added a refreshing element. It was just the sort of dessert you want in the summer! It was also highly different from many of the desserts I have tasted over time and really had some originality. Some petit fours, including a super boozy liquor candy that looked like a gummy completed the meal. Generally, the food was brilliant. The Brazilian elements really differentiated it from your typical European cuisine, which made it all the more fun to eat. But I do think that £215 is slightly overpriced and I was expecting a little more from a restaurant that had recently been given 3rd place in the National Restaurant Awards. But I will come back!

Restaurant with a south american / Brazilian influence I particularly like when each kitchen staffs came and gave some insights about each dish and some of their cooking techniques I particularly like the Hamachi and its broth. The broth flavour was intense and nice The olive oil butter made without dairy was interesting also For the Moqueca, the coconut sauce could have had a little more flavour The bone marrow was good but it felt quite heavy In overall it was a good experience

I visited for dinner on a Friday night. The venue is split into two sections. The front room faces into the open kitchen and this is clearly the place to be. The back room may still offer a partial kitchen view depending where you are seated, albeit you re a bit too far back to really appreciate it. Views aside it s a nice enough venue and it was nice to see they ve tried to keep things relatively informal. Only one tasting menu is on offer, priced at £225 per head. Interestingly, apart from the usual wine pairing (£150), they did also offer a non-alcoholic pairing (£95), as well as a half and half option (£125). Our meal started off strongly. The carabineros as well as the humble chicken were both stand out courses which were excellently prepared. However, I didn t enjoy the second half of the meal as much. Don t get me wrong, it wasn t bad, but it just didn t deliver the standard I would have expected from a 2-star venue. Dishes were all beautifully presented, but I wasn t convinced by some of the flavour combinations, for example in the moqueca dish. I don t eat pork, and the one pork dish was substituted with a seafood dish, meaning there was no red meat included throughout my meal, which was a bit disappointing given the Brazilian influenced menu. I also thought the desserts were a bit too adventurous, with two savoury/sweet combos followed by a pineapple based dish. Something more typical (e.g. chocolate based) would have been more enjoyable, but perhaps is just down to personal preference. Service was excellent. Staff were quite friendly and they created a relaxed atmosphere. I liked how different chefs would come out to present individual dishes. The meal progressed at a decent pace and we were done in around 2.5 hours. The bill for 2 people including a wine pairing came to £900. Overall, although the service was good and there were enjoyable components of the menu, it felt a bit inconsistent and I came away slightly underwhelmed, especially considering the price point which is definitely at the upper end of the range for fine dining in London. Having tried most of the 2/3 star restaurants in town, this unfortunately wouldn t rank as one of my favourites.

Absolutely fantastic all round experience at Da Terra. Having been to many 2-3 star restaurants, this is now in our top 3 in the city together with Core and La Dame de Pic. Chef Rafa delivers a creative menu with strong Brazilian influences. Every dish is creative and full of flavours, beautifully combined. The moqueca and pork dish were true memorable standouts. The service was phenomenal, with thoughtful touches throughout. We will definitely visit Elis very soon as well. I would not be surprised if a third star is on the horizon soon.

I recently dined at Da Terra and had an experience that has left me deeply disappointed. Despite clearly communicating my dietary restrictions both via email and in person with the management (which include not consuming red meat, offals, and foods high in purines), my guidelines were blatantly ignored on multiple occasions during my meal. First, I was served a chicken heart skewer. When I informed the server that I couldn t consume offals and had already told the management about it, the server s response was dismissive, suggesting that I could just choose not to eat it. The dish was eventually replaced, but the damage to my experience was done. Then, incredibly, I was served a dish containing cow bone marrow. When I spoke to the chef, I was told that bone marrow isn t considered offal, which is not only incorrect but also irrelevant since it s high in purines a fact that I had explicitly stated I needed to avoid. I reached out to Da Terra s management with my concerns and received an unsatisfactory response that failed to address the seriousness of the issues at hand. Dining out should not be a gamble with one s health and well-being, especially when dietary restrictions have been clearly communicated. Unfortunately, my experience at Da Terra indicates a lack of attention to such critical details, calling into question the restaurant s commitment to customer service and safety. I cannot recommend Da Terra given these serious oversights. If you have specific dietary needs, exercise caution and perhaps consider other establishments that are more attentive and respectful to such requirements.

The food and the service was excellent. In particular, the waiters were impeccable. The food married Brazilian and European flavours superbly. However, in my opinion, for the price we paid (£500 pp), for which we had the full tasting and pairing menu, the food has to be not just great, but incredible. It was great, and interesting, but not incredible. We loved that the chef came to explain some of the dishes, and clearly a lot of thought had gone into them. But for the price, the food has to hit a level it just did not hit. We loved our experience at Da Terra, I just think it wasn t quite worth the price.

Very well executed food, with influences from all around the world and especially South America. The use of ingredients unusual in Europe, is well balanced, and the dishes are the expression of an elegant and at times quite classic fine-dining approach. The level of food was very high, especially the main dishes, fish and meat, were outstanding. The food deserves the two Michelin starts and the other accolades. In terms of quality/price ratio, probably on the expensive side, but the uniqueness of the food proposal is worth the visit. The area where the restaurant is situated its not the nicest, the restaurant inside is nice and the atmosphere is good. The service overall was nice, although I would have liked more details and information about the dishes and the inspiration of them from the waiters. The rhythm of the food felt also slightly too fast for my preference, and I didnt always have time to pick the drink for the next dishes because of that, especially if I didnt like the first choice proposed by the sommelier. What a wonderful time. Innovative interesting food. At these price points, I ll be a little harsher however. Atmosphere and music is a little odd. Music is lighthearted 80s 90s but then the service is overly formal and serious so they clash. We are in east London - why not have a little more fun across the board. I love a good moqueca (in fact it s presence on the menu was why I chose this restaurant) but I didn t love the way they condescendingly educate you about that dish without asking if you ve had it or been to Brazil or even Bahia before. We could have connected on this dish in a nicer way that was less basic. Also they show you a sample of their moqueca which includes a variety of fish and shellfish. But they don t serve theirs with the shellfish in the actual dish. A bit of a deception. Finally, one of us had a food allergy (nuts). And we gave lots (weeks) of notice. They were very careful. Sometimes they replaced the nut with something else and interesting. That s awesome. But on a few dishes they also just served me the same dish as my partner but left ingredients off the dish. Which made me feel I was missing out. Again - at a top tier price point, I expect better. Dessert was my favorite dish I ve had maybe ever. So I can recommend this restaurant but they can take it a next step.

There are a few occassions in life when you expect perfection and your expectations are exceeded. Lion King The Musical, a Federer forehand or the latest documentary from David Attenborough and we can add Da Terra to that list. The meal actually begins before you enter. As one walks down the raucous Patriot Road, you almost forget the reason youre here, until you enter the innocuous doors and youre instantly transported into a whole new world and you can taste something in the air: skill. The food is presented with the same passion as an artist walking you through their gallery, with every single dish deconstructued and reconstructed through conversation and dish was curated in such a way that you can travel the world without ever leaving your chair. The only comment I have on the price is I started to regret not having worked harder in my life, so I could afford to pay them more.

Chef Rafael and his team have created an incredible experience where every detail is paid proper attention to from the second you step through the curtain-lined doors. The space is small and intimate yet very relaxed and casual. The whole staff serves food, explains the dishes, and answers questions with a smile on their faces. The food is a mixture of familiar and strange but none of it is intimidating and it is all exceptionally delicious. The pacing of the service was ideal- as soon as we started to feel full there was a slight lull before getting into the heaviest courses and then ultimately finishing with several light deserts that theres somehow room for. The pairings were exceptional and we tasted some incredible wines. The pairings also included a beer which was delightful and if I could have changed any one thing about our experience I think it would be nice to have more beer pairings throughout the menu but as a brewer I must acknowledge my bias. We did the full tasting menu with pairings, price when all was said and done came to about $800 USD and the meal lasted just under three hours. If I were to write about each course of the ten part tasting menu this would be a never ending review. There would be so much to say about each one. I ve never felt anxious about eating in a restaurant before until Da Terra. A blind tasting menu, humble chicken I didn t know it was possible to eat a chickens foot! The experience was stunning start to finish. The dining room - we loved the art, the furniture, the ingeniously fitted table cloths, the lighting, the open plan kitchen, the historic building. The presentation - we loved the tableware, the decorative food displays, the creative cutlery, the Italian linen napkins, the little stool for my handbag. The staff - they were all just so friendly, relaxed, knowledgeable, funny and accommodating. The chef, Rafael, served one course personally which was a really lovely touch. Our waiter for most of the evening - Alex - was wonderful. He was personable, confident, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, articulate and professional. It was obvious that he really cared about our dining experience. But the star of the show is ultimately the food. Every course was thoughtful, beautiful, complex, exciting and original. Dined at lunchtime and had the long tasting menu and wine pairing and our bill for two came to just over £700. Overall, it was a relatively underwhelming experience and my guest and I came away from the meal wondering how on earth they had two stars. Staff were pleasant but not overly hospitable and one member of the wait staff was so unfriendly he verged on rude. My final course was barely warm whereas my guest s dish was hot. I was served a glass with a pretty noticeable chip which could have been problematic if I hadn t spotted it. When asked about our experience at the end of the meal, we raised our surprise that the head chef had come round to every table around us to present a dish however did not come to ours. This was met with radio silence and no acknowledge leading me to wonder why he bothered to ask us in the first place. However, the service was a little bit off. The servers (not the chefs), some of them, didn t quite match the setting of the place (which was spectacular from inside). They felt they didn t quite belong in a 2 star place. The sommelier wasn t particularly helpful either, felt she was more focused on ploughing us with bottles of wine, rather than being genuinely helpful. And, given the above, I would say the place was a bit overpriced too (particularly given its location also in E2). But the food and the chef are excellent. Fixing that would put the restaurant to 3 stars not 2. Also at the beginning of the night staff doing rounds about tables were too noticeable due to lack of background noise (not sure how to fix that as you want to keep the attention to detail they had). Old Cafe feel with the interior, a relaxed warmth that you sometimes dont get in fine dining restaurants. We were given arguably the best table in the entire restaurant, with a direct view into the kitchen. Service was very good and prompt as expected. The courses were very, very good. I cannot isolate a single course that was weaker than others if Im being transparent. The humble chicken was probably my favorite, really putting together different parts of chicken together creatively. The head chef, Rafael, presented several courses himself which was very refreshing to see. Would definitely recommend, and would likely go for a second time it the opportunity presented itself. If Im going to nitpick anything, the timing of courses were a bit slow, just long enough to notice really. And secondly, the neighborhood felt a bit skittish walking around midnight.

The food is exquisite and absolutely unique. The only comment would be about the music - its a bit random and nice chill jazz would suit the atmosphere better I think

Great experience! Definitely worth Michelin 2 stars. Every dish was modern, delicious, and beautiful. Love the creativity and flavors; incorporation of Brazilian ingredients. The service was great, and liked that chef Cagali came to serve and interact with us. The restaurant is understated yet calm. We got to sit near the kitchen, which was very nice. I would highly recommend. You certainly wont be disappointed.

When a restaurant achieves 2 michellin stars in 2 years, you know theyve got something good going on. It was one of the best dining experiences Ive had. Rafas innovative, playful and just downright tasty dishes were a joy. Service, bloody attentive. Wine, great recommendations. Blind tasting menu, brilliant. And although the 10 course tasting menu took 3hrs, timing between courses was perfect. Recommended to anyone who lives to eat, wants an experience or just wants great food. I will certainly return.

Fantastic experience from start to Finnish. Easily deserving of its 2 Michelin stars. We all Enjoyed every course. Also it was awesome to have some interaction and conversation with Raphael the owner and chef. In a nutshell if you enjoy fine dining this is a must. If you don t this is the gateway.

There are no words to really do justice to how beautiful the balance of the dishes is, how delicate yet deep the flavors are and how exquisite the wines in the pairing taste. An unforgettable experience that made my 30th birthday very special.

Book your table! We had a very special meal at Da Terra. The food is both very inventive telling a story and just really really tasty. One of the best restaurants we have been to in London. If you don t drink alcohol, they have a fantastic drinks pairing which is very inventive and impressive in terms of pairing with the food.

Obviously the chef didn t want to give menus for a reason, so I will not ruin the surprise. Needless to say, it was a fantastic experience, totally enjoyable! The signature dish Moqueca, served personally by Chef Rafael Cagali, was exquisite even with such high expectations. The exotic touch of dende oil & pickled cumari gave it that extra special touch. All courses were extremely elegant in taste & in presentation. Such good decision to go for the wine pairing. Obviously Beverage Mgr Alvin Luk put a lot of thought behind these pairings. Again not to give away any surprises, the choice of a local pale ale was a surprisingly huge success, even though we ve heard about it and was a bit sceptical before. Beer & bread is a classic but the fact that it went so well with the accompanying bone marrow was a treat! Visited the nearby brewery directly after! There was the red for the meat dish; 5 grape varieties but the uniqueness was the unusual blend! All in all, very clever pairings & overall a very fun & exciting experience! Highly recommended!

Wow, wow, wow. Speechless. What a meal! By far the best dining experience I ve had in London. The intricacy of the dishes, the flavour combinations and the amazing service made this one of the most memorable meals we ve had in the UK (and beyond). We had the tasting menu and it was so worth it. The staff was very friendly, the ambiance was not stuffy (despite it being a 2 star Michelin star restaurant) and I literally cried after I left. It was that special. Would definitely recommend coming here!

It is completely blind tasting menu, you don t know what the chef is going to serve you which is what I like about this restaurant. I am surprised by the wonderful dishes the chef has to serve. Although I cannot remember all the dishes on top of my head but in summary for lunch menu: Amuse-bouche, cheese tomato cold soup, hot bread with bone marrow sauce and three variety butter, fish moqueca coconut sauce, lamb meat and finish with sheep cheese milk ice cream and finish with corn puff pastry. Really good service, attentive staff serving water to our table and really feeling the service required. One thing which I did not like was the open kitchen concept where I could smell the cooking smoke from the kitchen. It can be quite stuffy when there are lots of tables in the room. Perhaps an open plan but covered up with glass doors might help. Overall still good for 2 michelin star restaurant.

Absolutely amazing. Best meal I ve had in London. The tasting menu was great from start to end. Every dish is always very elegant, thoughtful and tasty. Hard to pick a favorite but some of my favorites are the fish, the lamb and the cheese course. The service was great always warm and friendly. The open kitchen also gives you a peek into the workings of the chefs. Truly amazing would comeback for sure

Totally blew us out the park. An amazing tasting menu. So random and SO totally brilliant. The wine pairing was just as random but wow such an amazing selection. Kudos to the sommelier, excellent choices. Loved the way each and every member of staff were included in the evening. A restaurant that 100% needs to be visited. The Chef is the most creative one Ive experienced yet.

Absolutely a new favourite in London.. mind blowing 2 Michelin star menu in fact its better than a few 3 star restaurants I ve been to in London. I usually dislike surprise menus, but the blind tasting menu here is sublime and unforgettable. Impeccable standard and attention to details on the quality of ingredients used, from the home preserved garlic capers on the chicken dish, to the 40year aged balsamic vinegar on the dessert to compliment the sweetness of the sorbet. Each dish is so beautifully presented and well explained, simply faultless.

We had an absolutely incredible dinner at Da Terra. We did the 10-course tasting menu with wine pairing and I couldnt fault a single dish we had. Everything was exciting and surprising, with amazing flavours and carefully curated combinations. The service was also excellent with friendly staff who were passionate about the food and wines. Whats more, we had the best seat in the house and were able to watch into the kitchen. It was a true glimpse into a masterfully run restaurant - everyone was so calm and focused on what they were doing, with the head chef overseeing everyone and pitching in wherever he was needed without any hint of ego. Our visit to Da Terra was one of the best restaurant experiences Ive ever had and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special dining experience.

Exceptional service and food with creative ingredients. My partner and I went for their full 10 course tasting menu for our anniversary dinner and they did not disappoint. It s such a s ahem that I had overestimated myself being stuffed by the 5th course. Honestly, wouldn t be surprise if they achieve a 3rd star soon. Staffs were knowledgeable and thoughtful, we enjoyed the open kitchen as we felt they were transparent and could really see the teamwork going on in running the establishment. Would definitely return for another special occasion. By far my favourite is the sheep yogurt with 40 years aged balsamic vinegar, and scallop with frozen marigold leaves.

We appreciated the great attention to detail, as well as the crazy explosions of flavor. One of the best in London. Thank you!

Fantastic experience. Service was excellent with an element of theater. The Chef visited our table on several occasions to personally talk about the food and its origins. Food was excellent and fully justified the two Michelin stars the restaurant has been awarded. The one niggle I have is the extra charge for coffee. I think this could be included in the set price of the menu.

An exciting and very enjoyable experience. Old town hall, perfectly organized service and stylish interior create an artistic setting accompanied by 80-s playlist. Every dish perfectly fits the atmosphere and feels like a scene displayed in front of you on the table, with most dishes consisting of several elements spread on the table. The food was an exciting introduction to Brazilian cuisine to me, with most dishes bringing something new and unique to my personal experience, and others just being quite good and enjoyable.

Simply perfect. Nice atmosphere (open kitchen with very smooth and quiet operation - a fine tuned orchestra to watch), very friendly waiters/somelier, etc. All the courses were incredibly delicious, well crafted, wonderfully looking. A real sensation from start to finish and the best Michelin awarded food we ever had anywhere.

Had an amazing experience here. The service, food, drinks and atmosphere were all amazing. We had the long tasting menu, which lasted about 2.5hrs. The atmosphere is really relaxed for such a nice place, it really takes the edge off would could have quite easily been a very pretentious vibe. A truly delicious and memorable evening.
