Visited on a busy Thursday evening and the service was absolutely amazing Yasin served us and was such a delight from drinks to food there is such a huge variety of choices and we will definitely be coming here again THANK YOU to the team at HAPPY :)

Well located restaurant with great and varied food. Theres Mexican, Italian, American food and some classic meat and fush and chip dishes. If you want a nice meal in London, this place is the one.

The food was well prepared and of great taste, however disgustingly overpriced; with less portions and over-displayed (trying too hard to present it). Horrible music taste which didn t fit the atmosphere with an overall fast food vibe. To top it off was charged a service bill (which needed removed upon asking) which didn t go to staff, something I d have happily given in staff tips to the multiple other incredible restaurants I ve so far visited. Wouldnt visit again.

Absolute joke the service and the food was cold but they kept trying to deny it, also the manager wouldnt tell us her name she said i dont hve to tell you also they was also speaking in a foreign language together

Not a very happy experience, extremely noisy place, we were placed near the kitchen from which a nauseating smell of fish came out, we asked a waiter to change tables who called the room manager, this was EXTREMELY RUDE and told us said that if we wanted to change tables we had to leave the restaurant and queue again (in all this there were at least 4 other empty tables without reservations that could have accommodated us) too bad they had already ordered otherwise we would have got up and gone away

A good place to eat at a reasonable price with good location.

Went there yesterday. Food was good. It was my partner s birthday but the waiters refused to sing us birthday songs, said it is reservation only. But I checked it cannot be booked on Sunday. Ruined the birthday. Just another day I did not feel welcomed in this city. Maybe I will try leaving or quit my life.

We decided to visit this restaurant today after noticing how busy it always seemed, assuming the popularity was due to generous portions and great food as advertised on pictures. Unfortunately, this was far from the case. We all ordered steak, which was not only much smaller than the advertised size but also poorly cooked(if you could call this steak). Despite asking for different doneness levels, none of them were prepared as requested. To make matters worse, as soon as we left, my husband became extremely ill, suffering from stomach issues and vomiting. The experience was truly awful. The portions were underwhelming, the quality was terrible, and the aftermath was even worse. I can t understand how this place won a Best Restaurant award. It was a complete waste of money, and we will not be returning. If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid this place at all costs!

We booked a meal Friday night for my daughter s 18th Birthday celebrations which was ruined by cold food, slow service and they refused to sing my daughter happy birthday as we never bought just 1 dessert even though our total bill was £328 !!! No one on our table wanted a dessert. Will not be returning enjoy the 1* negative review as you certainly earned it.

Good food, great location, friendly and efficient staff.

Had really bad experiences last Saturday evening. We were party of 8 people and agreed to sit in two different tables until bigger one become available so we could move and all sit together. That didnt happen for some time tho. At some point one table became available but staff said table had been pre-booked and sadly cant do much. No one showed up for over 30 min and I was so passed off and had a word with one of the duty managers. He admitted they didnt give that table to us on purpose. Ive never experienced such a low management behaviour and would never visit that place again.

Restaurant with great atmosphere, food was really good and the prices of food and cocktails were decent comparing to the restaurants in the same area. The waitress we had was amazing, very smiley and willing to help! We ordered the nachos and the cheese burger (the one where they inject more cheese). The nachos were lukewarm and tasted more like pork than beef. We sent that back and got the garlic doughballs. They weren t heated fully as the cheese in the middle was still lumpy. The burger was ok, mostly nice but the burger itself was chewy and the bottom was very hard to bite through. The cookie dough was amazing! Honestly this isn t the best experience and when we went last year it was so much better! Don t think we ll be coming back to be honest.

Disastrous restaurant. The only possibilities for booking are 7:30 p.m. or 9:45 p.m. because there are 2 services, this poses no problem for us and we choose the last slot. The waitress comes at 9:55 p.m. to take our order, we take a starter, she looks at her watch in piss-off mode . We havent chosen the dishes yet, she comes back 2 minutes later to tell us that the kitchen is going to close, with a still unpleasant attitude. If it bothers you to welcome customers this late, do not offer these slots for reservations and change your opening hours. The quantity in the dishes are quite low for the prices. We leave without having had dessert and very disappointed

Booked a table here, only to arrive and be told to wait outside, the staff member seemed stressed and unsure if he had a table available when I asked if it s ready. We were on time too, so really no excuse. The menu has a huge range of food, which all looks delicious, and well-sized in the pictures. The food arrived, in a significantly smaller serving than the menu would have you believe. It was also warm, and not hot. The quesadillas were dripping with oil when eaten, and the cheeseburger rolls were simply awful, and again filled with oil. If you re thinking of ordering the skinny fries, don t bother. They re just crisps poured out on to a plate and are awful. The salad we ordered was the best part, but still poor having been covered in oil again. I don t understand how this place has won awards for best in UK . I genuinely would consider the food to be about as good as a burger van you see in the local B&Q car park - fried, oily and tasteless. I d highly advise you avoid this place if you re looking for a decent meal. They also add on a 12.5% service charge which is described as optional but only after you have paid it.

The waiting time was annoying on average at 15-20 minutes. The portions in the restaurant were relatively small and various dishes were sold out. An unparalleled indictment. Its best to just choose another store. But the meat was tasty.

We were a party of eight, including two children. I ordered a starter of 5 chicken strips, while the others chose their main courses. When the food arrived, everything came out together except for one meal. Upon tasting my chicken strips, I immediately noticed they were served almost cold. I brought this to the waiter s attention, and he took my plate away. A few minutes later, three warm strips were returned to me. However, by the time my meal was redelivered, we were still missing one of the main courses. At this point, nearly all the other meals had already been finished. This level of service was unacceptable.

Lovely place to go staff very friendly excellent value for money

The worst service that I have experienced in the UK. The waitress was very rude and impolite. When we asked for a missing order, she replied, I have told you we don t have that, did you hear me? . When we refused to leave a review, she even threw the receipt on the table. We said this s very impolite but she didn t say anything. She offered nice service to other customers so a very possible reason for us to receive such disgraceful service was because we are Chinese tourists. Food is fine but small portions. We paid almost £50 per person but received very poor service that spoiled our trip. Definitely won t recommend this Happy Restaurant that made us very unhappy.

I went there for my sister s graduation and the food was really good and staff were nice, the only problem was we were in the queue and then we asked for sitting under the tree in the middle but the staff told us we could not. me and my friend came into the restaurant with high expectations as it is always packed and has a massive queue outside. when we walked in we were pleased with the atmosphere but left disappointed and unhappy with the experience. ironic name for such a terrible place. we ordered the truffle fries, beef tacos and the beef and chips burger. the chips and taco were somewhat satisfactory but when the burger arrived out neither of us could take more than two bites. the beef was undercooked and same with the bacon. we only ended up eating the bun and took out the bacon and beef as it was horrible and overly fatty. the portions appear filling and big but when they arrive they are deceiving as they are small and for the price not worth it at all. how this place managed to get best restaurant in London baffles me.

The food is good, the best is the carbonara, you can tell it is handmade and not imported. The waiter service is friendly and the overall feeling is very American, like going to a hard rock cafe The lights suddenly turned off in the middle of the show, and at first I thought there was a power outage. Then music started playing, and the waiters in the shape of Santa Claus walked around to create atmosphere, which was very interesting! The atmosphere is top notch!

Very nice atmosphere with a great atmosphere. The service is very good. The food was a bit expensive for the prices and London standards. Definitely worth going in. If possible, make a reservation to save waiting time. We were there around 7 p.m. and waited about 20 minutes.

I used to eat every 3-4 weeks at Happy back in 90s on my way from Bucharest to Istanbul. The closest one was 40 miles away in Russe Bulgaria, another one was in Nova Zagora. Such a lovely atmosphere and tasty food . Something very modern for that times. More than 25 years later, Im having dinner in Piccalilli Circus, quite excited for what Im seeing : same quality food, friendly waiters and decent prices. Well done Happy

Overpriced, unbelievable crap

Reviews said to eat here, but I m gutted we did. Very hands off service - being told to press a button when we wanted drinks/order food. Ordered a steak medium rare, only to be told they can t do that. Can only be medium or medium/well. So instantly not impressed by that. Food was delivered quickly, so can t fault them for that, but the Restaurant secret sauce on the steak was so salty I thought I d gone swimming in the sea. My partner ordered the Extra Cheeseburger and yes, it was swimming in cheese as per the description. Trouble was, he said it tasted like plastic cheese, (like the Kraft slices) so totally put him off. When it came time to pay, there s a QR Code or wait 15 minutes for a member of staff to finally come over & charge you an arm & a leg. Not impressed, also horrendously expensive. £75:00 for 2 main meals, 1 beer & 1 cocktail.

Degusting meal with low-end and frozen products, very clean toilets I do not recommend this establishment.

Crowd pleasing venue with menu that is big, brash and unfortunate food. Fatty and oversweet, Happy is a halfway house gateway downwards to industrial junkfood. Some interesting dishes executed more for the investors than punters. The staff have been drilled mercilessly to be happy and yet defy the odds to be prompt and respectful, managing to pull up this cynical eaterie in Leicester square to acceptability. Have to admit that this Bulgarian chain has cemented a family-friendly niche, and, God help us, will patently expand across Europe.

It is a shame, our food came late, wasn t even nice. And in the end we were charged £42 service charge without even asking. Will never go back there!

Our experience at Happy was great the service was amazing. Considering we went at around 5:30pm on a Friday evening the que seemed to go down relatively quickly. Everyone was very welcoming and attentive. The food was great quality lots of variety. The only thing is for the price I would of expected bigger portion sizes. Would definelty return.

I have been here with friends too many times and always love it more, we almost tried everything here which was absolutely amazing. My favorites are the loaded fries with steak, the white pasta, sirlon steak, and oh my god the burgers are banging. I also love the salads which are huge portions and love the prawns starters. Cocktails are great here especially if you like a strong one and mocktails are alwasy fresh. Friendly staff and a nice spot for always. Also, good place for Christmas as they always have this funny greench.

My friend and I are speechless after visiting Happy restaurant in Piccadilly, London earlier today but I have to say how huge disappointment was. The food, not freshly cooked or overcooked (or recooked probably). The crispy sweet potatoes were far away from crispy I did order glass of Prosecco, which was without bubbles or any signs of suggestion that it wasn t open days ago. When I said that I don t like it, the waitress was not very happy but agreed to exchange for a glass of Pinot Grigio, which actually was same, even worse. I would not comment my friend s cocktail as I don t have enough words. For dessert we had a lovely Rat running through and around our feet and even though we were jumping shocked because of the situation, we were told: come on ladies, don t be surprised, this is Central London after all!! On the way out, one of the staff smiled at us, saying: Chao! (I will take it as: thank you for visiting us, have a Great Night!)

Have been here many times before but today s visit was a disappointment. The food was not fresh at all and I fact was tasteless . The alcohol wasn t great quality at all . The staff was friendly at the beginning but our complaint wasn t not handled in a professional manner. And this is not all. The restaurant is infested with mice and when we made a comment the staff response was : this is central London what do you expect . We have underground here really , is this how a complaint needs to be handled? I think you owe your customers little more respect!

We were there very spontaneously and without a reservation and after having to wait a short time, we were able to get a table straight away. We were absolutely thrilled. The food was so good that even our son, who usually eats very little, ordered an extra portion. The service staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a great atmosphere. We can all only say positive things. Kid-friendliness: Very child friendly. There is a childrens menu

Had a burger (Mr. Cheesy) and fries for take away. The burger tasted really good, I d recommend it. The fries were bad, a bit cold, almost not spiced and not crunchy at all the worst was the amount. It were maybe 10 single fries for 4,5 Pounds. I would have expected at least a half more. Maybe it was due to take away but it was really disappointing. I ate the food 2 minutes after pickup, so the travel time shouldn t have affected the fries much. Please improve in that point. Overall it was pretty expensive food and the fries were disappointing. The burger was good but pretty small for the price of 16,99 GBP.

We ate well and for Halloween they did some cool activities. On the other hand, the waiter at the end during the bill took the liberty of putting a good tip without my authorization directly on the TPE of still 16!!!!!

This was our 5th time! Yesterday, November 1st, we were disappointed with the service, we ordered shrimp starters, they didnt change our cutlery, we had to eat with the same ones! They put second course food on the table without lifting the plates. Entrance I had to ask for it! Second course for 4 people came 2 courses after about 10 minutes another dish came and the last one came after another 5 minutes is not what you expect from what claims to be one of the best restaurants in London

A decent place if you have the funds. Randomly put a £10 service tip on but I guess thats London for you but this really wasnt needed on what was already quite an expensive meal. Probably wont return as a result. Let me be the judge of how much to pay, not you. Dont get the house fries. Theyre basically strings of crisps and nothing close to fries. My sons medium-well done steak was still grazing in a field when it arrived. Food and service were good though, along with the atmosphere not great, not bad, just ok.

We were lucky enough to get the only actually happy staff member hosting our table, she was very pleasant and dealt well with issues that arose. Other staff I spoke to were openly disinterested and borderline rude. Our host was also the only staff member who seemed to be smiling. Ive worked in customer facing jobs and know that sometimes staff are caught in a bad moment but when its appears to be the majority of the staff Id be concerned. Another note was that I had to wait sometime to get access to the disabled toilet as staff were using it as a changing room. The food arrived in reasonable time, but my main, the chilly cheese steak chips arrived cool to cold with the hotplate it was on being cool enough to hold. It had clearly been left to one side while other good was made. Our waitress was very apologetic and immediately went to get me a fresh main. This unfortunately took quite some time to the point my daughter had almost finished eating and my mother felt uncomfortable eating her meal as I was going without. When we did eventually get the meal again it was very good, a perfect temperature and well cooked. My daughters chicken popcorn was thoroughly enjoyed. The crispy calamari had an unusual but incredibly morish flavour. Despite the enjoyment of the food itself and our waitress trying to help I dont think we would go again. At the price of £75+ for a late lunch/early dinner with only one plate and can of drink per person the cost does not equate to the experience we had. Wheelchair accessibility: Though there is an accessible toilet it was also being used as a staff changing room when I went. This is a very busy, tightly packed restaurant and I had difficulty getting around with an injured leg, I think it would be incredibly frustrating in a wheelchair.

Great atmosphere great service but inedible food - macaroni cheese was congealed and split and the steak so chewy - both covered in so much oil - at least the bad food was rectified by great service and we weren t charged - shame as it was great for families

Wow, the place is really cool and in the middle of Picadilly, the atmosphere inside really leaves you happy, there are even shows sometimes. In relation to food, it complies 100% with having been the top restaurant in 2022 and 2023 in the UK, ordering the mac and cheese burger and some cocktails that are something that there is not. In relation to price a little more expensive but hey its 100% worth it

The food was great! Staff were friendly. I absolutely loved the setting and would defo go back.

The place is nice and the food is well done. The chicken popcorns that we had as a starter were really delicious. The only negative point I would say is the volume of the music. Between the ambient hubbub and the music at this volume it was quite difficult to hear yourself speak. Otherwise the service was very fast and the waitress we had was very nice.

It was my son 16th birthday in October 2024 we was sitting in the round booths at the front of the restaurant when my big daughter saw a RAT run behind us 10-15 minutes later I saw it run back out and head to the back of the restaurant. Employee on the entrance today was very unpleasant. Obviously 95% of the staff is Bulgarian as me & my friend are as well but she pretended she didn t speak Bulgarian and was so arrogant. We made a reservation for my birthday for Lunch and she just said they have a problem in the kitchen and the only thing we can order is salads. Very disappointing, probably will not come back only because of this one young lady on the entrance. :))

Food is great. The beef tacos are highly recommended. Even though we didnt make a reservation and had to wait in line, we were seated at the table in 10 minutes. Friendly staff who ensure that you dont lack anything. Recommended if you want good food with lots of variety in London.

Took our friend here for a birthday celebration and boy did we celebrate, the taste buds of our mouths even had a mini party. Cannot recommend this place enough.

A dream from A - Z. Actually we just wanted to eat a salad so we could quickly explore the city again. But we were immediately infected by the great atmosphere there. There was only a good atmosphere from the staff and the guests, birthdays were celebrated, the Grinch was running through the store, people were clapping... wooooow you wouldnt want to leave. When the food came, we had to order again. Not because it wasnt enough, but because of the explosion of flavor. Incredibly good food, no matter what is ordered. We came again the next day, this time with friends. Again, just enthusiasm from everyone. We will definitely come back to London and 100% back to Happy London.

Service was very quick and staff cheerful however when stating i had a severe allergy the waiter kept asking if i was ok with cross contamination. Food was also very greasy and music too loud

We were very pleased with the service and were looking forward to the food when we made our selections on the menu. Our expectations were even exceeded. Perfect portion size and tasted great!

Excellent staff and food

For people like me who are afraid of tourist traps with extended cards, this is a good restaurant... We were pleasantly surprised by the speed and quality of the dishes. The meat is tender as can be, the mac and cheese was also very good but a little lukewarm so its a shame on that point. Very good garlic bread. The Rolls burgers arent too bad. Music a little too loud

Host at the entrance was lovely and polite, a very busy restaurant so glad we booked. The waitress was friendly, food was really nice, just not a lot of it. One steak wasn t cook the way we wanted it, ordered a Gin and Lemonade but the size of the glass and the amount of lemonade that was in it you couldn t even taste the gin what so ever. When paying the bill they was an optional service charge, but the waitress didn t even give you the option if you wanted to pay it or not. Would I go back? Probably yes as the burgers looked banging lol To be honest it s only getting 3 stars because of the food was lovely.

Happiness served on a plate! What really made this place shine was the incredible staff. Their recommendations were perfect, and the service was amazing. Happy Restaurant is all about joy, served up with dishes like tableside guac, fresh and balanced avocado caprese salad, hearty mac & cheese smash burger, spaghetti Alfredo with prawns, and saved room for the tiramisu with a chocolate twist that you ll dream about. This is my second time visiting and I must say it was alot more packed and the atmosphere was a good vibe . The only issue I had was that the food was cold but they sorted it out very quickly. Kid-friendliness: The service was average.

We tried this place because of the good reviews. I only give it 3 stars because the staff was so nice and welcoming. But the food was not good. Pretty tasteless for the price of it. Maybe the prices are considered ok for London, but the portions should also probably match those prices . 16 pounds for a burger without the fries. Its a fast food joint really, but the prices are for a restaurant. In the end they try to charge an optional service fee by already including it in your bill, you have to ask to get it removed (14 pounds in our case). They also tell you that the service fee is NOT a tip, so the tip is extra, which made no sense to us. We would not visit again.

The restaurant is the best in London, the food is delicious, shrimps, cheese pasta with steak and steak with vegetables, I highly recommend it, the service is very nice the atmosphere was very nice, there were nice fire shows and I think we will come here more than once when we are in London

It is an outrage to announce that the Greek feta cheese is an ingredient in the traditional Shop salad. Are you ashamed of the traditional Bulgarian cows cheese?

Its was wonderful and Amazing in every detail from the quality of the food to the fast service.

We spontaneously decided to eat here in the evening without a reservation. We had to wait a moment in front of the door but were then shown straight to a seat. The food was terrific. The best burger Ive had so far! The cocktails, like the food, were simply amazing! In terms of price, I think everything is completely reasonable. Not necessarily cheap, but still completely justified for the price. For others, the music in the restaurant was probably a bit too loud. But it was great for our taste. They completely lightened the mood with a little dance performance from the staff. Super! All in one we can only recommend this restaurant!

Busy place. Staff were very friendly - we were waiting for the characters to appear to entertain the children.. but were informed they only come out in the evenings. All in all, we had fun.
