I recently enjoyed a fantastic three-course meal at The Claremont’s bar and restaurant near Charing Cross, and it was a memorable experience. From start to finish, each course was crafted with incredible attention to flavor and presentation. The starter was beautifully light yet flavorful, perfectly setting the tone for the meal. Moving on to the main course, the dish was perfectly cooked, balancing flavors with a satisfying depth. You can tell the chef put thought into sourcing quality ingredients and creating a delicious plate. Finally, dessert was an absolute delight – a deliciously indulgent end to the meal without feeling overly heavy. The service throughout was attentive and warm, and the setting of the restaurant added to the experience, with its elegant, cozy ambiance. Whether for a casual dinner or a special occasion, a three-course meal at The Claremont is definitely worth it. Highly recommended!
Average service and food wasn't good. Calamari was tough, the rice overcooked and the fish and chips was way too greasy. The venue is beautiful though.
Been here a few times before we catch our trains. Love the cocktails and reasonably priced. Good choice of nibbles in the bar. We had salt and pepper squid and pepper hummus. Very good. Quite cosy space in the bar but not noisy. Very comfy.
After reading all the good reviews we were looking forward to dine at Clermont hotel's restaurant. The service was mediocre from the begining however the food started on a good note. Both the Calamari and Falafel starters were delicious. Unfortunatelly the rest of the food didn't meet our expectations. The mains were absolutely tasteless, okay at best and with the lack of service that was all I could say when they asked how was it. Dessert were also just okay, nothing special. I wish we could have had that 5 star experience as everyone else. Maybe we went on the wrong day at the wrong time, but not worth a second try..
FYI this is situated within the beautiful Clermont Hotel, we didn't realise this at first ;) My friend and I had an impromptu girly afternoon out in London and we found this Afternoon tea experience purely by chance, we hadn't booked but the staff were lovely and accommodated us in the pretty conservatory area so we were very lucky. The Afternoon Tea with Prosscco was delightful and plentiful, with bite size treats so you managed to eat it all even the Scones (which at other venues we leave as no room!) We throughly enjoyed it here and will definitely pop back in the Summer for another treat! Thank you to everyone.
Used a voucher I got online and definitely felt like I got value for money spent. Afternoon tea for 2 deal came with 2 glasses of prosecco, which was lovely. Excellent service by Cyan, very pleasant & attentive! Loved her. She made our experience there an enjoyable one.

First time visiting the UK and went here with my significant other for afternoon tea. The restaurant is located inside the Amba Hotel. We were seated next to the huge windowed balcony which supplied a lot of beautiful natural lighting into the room and a lovely view. The staff were super friendly. The food came out beautifully presentable and the staff explained the menu items. Amazing experience for our first afternoon tea.

This is the restaurant of the Clermont Charing Cross hotel, on the first floor. So its a great location, literally right next door to Charing Cross station. We ate breakfast here each morning of our stay, and we ate dinner here one rainy evening. The restaurant is beautiful. The tables are close together, so you may not have the opportunity for a quiet conversation. Our food was very good. Service was slow--our server sometimes disappeared--but otherwise we had enjoyable meals here.

I am giving the restaurant two stars because the staff here are lovely. Theyre polite, welcoming, kind, friendly and actually engaged with us. However, Id give the food half a star because the nicest thing I ate yesterday was mashed potatoes. My mother ordered her mash with no butter and it came with butter which meant that she couldnt eat it... I ate it instead because it was the nicest thing on the plate. The goujons were over cooked and the fish inside tasted frozen or just not fresh at all, very fishy. Just not at all good. I ordered the red mullet and it was literally the smallest plate of food ever plus again, the fish wasnt fresh. Not good. My cheesecake tasted like gelatin. NO FLAVOUR AT ALL. NONE. It was literally a wobblish firmish mess, Wetherspoons do a better cheesecake. Now, I understand that this was a groupon deal and we really did have a nice time with the staff and enjoyed our prosecco but the food gets half a star. I was quite embarrassed to be honest. I was embarrassed because Id bought it as a treat to celebrate my mother and sisters for overcoming a hard family challenge and the food really was a let down. Thank god for alcohol. I would recommend the bar but NEVER the food. Chefs, you need to do better.

Terrace restaurant & bar is located at the first floor of the Amba Hotel charging cross , mainly to cater in house guest. The bar is good and compact. It has a great menu and the drinks and cocktails are very good.
Great afternoon tea! Only reason we took a star off was because of poor service.
