We had a great evening at the marquise of Westminster. The service was attentive and polite. The food was excellent, the ripeye steak was slightly overcooked but did not affect the quality of the dish. The goat cheese lasagne was spot on. It was a great dinner for our last evening in London
We had an amazing Christmas dinner there with my team. The service we received from Maeve was excellent, thank you!! The pub's team let us decorate the table and were super nice & helpful throughout. Food was great and at a reasonable price. Thank you for a great evening!
Great food! Had a ribeye steak and it was delicious. Staff was accommodating and took us in even without reservation. Reasonably priced. Located a few minutes walk from Victoria train station. A great dining experience.
The fish and chips was lovely, haddock was buttery and delightful! Wife had the chicken and leek pie which was also to die for. Excellent pub fare and excellent service!
Coming from the U.S. we decided to try some food here. Just a short walk from our hotel. The chicken and leek pie was absolutely delicious along with the open ravioli dish. The espresso martinis were fantastic and to add the service was top notch. Our waiter was super nice. Enough so, that we returned the next night for a few drinks. We will be back!
🚇 Victoria 🍺 £7.45 Hawkstone The Marquis of Westminster is located on the corner of Warwick Way and busy Belgrave Road in Pimlico. The nearest Tube is Victoria, it’s a five minute walk to get here. This pub was established in 1839 and historically was tied to the nearby Watney’s Brewery. There are still three Watney’s lanterns adorning the exterior today. The pub is named after The Marquis of Westminster who was ironically teetotal, a supporter of the temperance movement, and instrumental in closing 40 beer houses in his constituency of Mayfair. This Gastropub is set out over three floors. The main bar is on the ground floor, just off the main bar is a spiral staircase which leads up to an elegant dining room and down to the Cellar Bar. The main bar has a bare boarded floor, some mixed height furniture and an “L” shaped servery which follows the line of the bar. The overall decor has a rustic traditional feel. The beer offering is a selection of mainstream stalwarts which included three cask ales. I noticed they had @hawkstone lager available, so I opted for a pint of that. My pint was great, I really enjoyed it but cost a whopping £7.45!!. The food menu is elevated pub classics, Fish & Chips costs £18.50, roasts are available on a Sunday. I arrived around 5pm on a chilly Friday afternoon in March. The pub was busy and had a nice buzz about it. The punters were a mix of post work pinters plus a few tourists taking time out. The service was on point, the lady who served me was welcoming and courteous. Although this is a Gastro, this pub has proper pub credentials. The main bar area is set up well for those who are here for the beer. The surroundings are pleasant, the beer selection was decent but pricey and the service was on point. The @marquiswestminsterpimlico is worth a look if you’re in the area. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 08.03.24
I took my Kiwi family in for a proper Sunday Roast and this meal exceeded our expectations. Both the pork belly and beef rump were cooked beautifully. The sides were great, and the sticky toffee pudding a standout. Or hostess Yula was fantastic, really attentive and friendly. I'd definitely be back.
Found this pub restaurant as a convenient close & cozy spot. The aesthetic of the restaurant is lovely and a really nice vibe. The quality, quantity and taste of the food was exceptional. Really delicious and generous portions. However, the service was appalling. Not necessarily rude but very uninterested in serving or checking in on our table. I also noticed another guest having to approach the staff as they had been waiting so long to be served that they thought it must be bar service. We waited an hour for our food and if it hadn’t been so tasty, we would have complained. We then waited a while to have everything cleared and were never offered dessert or teas/coffees. At every stage we had to call someone over as we were not being served. They then cheekily add a generous service charge at the end on the bill… I am to add, it was a Sunday afternoon with about 8 tables to serve (not all full) so was not so busy that they were ran off their feet. Slightly disappointed for the prices you pay.
Decent food but too noisy when I was there.
The pub handled our Christmas party of about 30 with ease - the food was tasty, service was smooth and unobtrusive (no yelling names), and drink options extensive. We mostly used the first floor which has its own bar, the tables were festively decorated. The road below wasn t distracting and the food beautifully plated. It s rare to say venison in a pub was good! Afterwards the pub downstairs was -on a Tuesday night- really vibrant and full. Many of our team stayed on for drinks and were really enjoying themselves. I d certainly return for a casual night.
Beautiful, cozy restaurant, you immediately feel at home. The ambience and food were great! Absolute recommendation!
Lovely atmosphere. Small restaurant above the bar food was lovely and so were the staff.
0 stars if I could. Noise, smelly and rude bar staff. Avoid.
Great team as always, very much looked after with smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. Mark, Yula, Courtney, Aaron, George, Ally, Mitch and Meave took over tonight. Thank you for making my own and my friends Christmas drinks a night to remember.
First time here for a works Xmas lunch. We are upstairs and the food, decor, service and atmosphere were all very good
Nice pub, good food and well kept cellar.
Excellent food with exceptional service. Highly recommend their Sunday Roast!
I am starting with a one-star rating, as the system requires a rating to submit a review. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from the outset. The staff member we interacted with was notably rude, and it was apparent that this behavior was directed specifically at our group of five, which was diverse in nationality. It was particularly striking that other patrons at nearby tables did not receive the same treatment. We were unable to understand the reason for her unprofessional demeanor, but it was clear that it contributed to us feeling unwelcome. As a result, we chose to cancel our order and leave. This experience was highly discouraging and would encourage anyone not to patronise them ever.
Loved it. The Barkeeper was awesome and so friendly!
On both occasions (the photos are from the two different days) that we went, Mitch attended to us. Despite our terrible English, the boy always helped and empathized. The food is 10, the price is very good!!! The truth is that they met expectations!!!
Not bad. Waiter kept forgetting parts of our order. Kid-friendliness: My 2 boys were well looked after Food : 5/5 |
Very friendly waitress and excellent fish and chips
Quaint local tavern offer tavern fare. I had the Reuben bagel sandwich, very good with a touch of spicy mustard. While the sandwich was not stuffed pile high with meat like the states, it definitely had great flavor. Local craft beer options on the menu.
Excellent quality
Comfortable old English pub with interesting wooden spiral staircase up to dining room. Attentive and polite staff. Great food nicely presented. Feels up market with prices slightly elevated from the norm but worth it for the overall experience. Recommended.
Friendly staff and a good selection of drinks
Very cozy restaurant on the first floor and pub on the ground floor. The waitresses were all friendly and committed. Nothing was missing. Small but fine selection. The food was delicious and the dessert also tasted excellent. Worth a recommendation.
Wow! I can recommend the lasagna to everyone! 10/10 and the brownie was super delicious! The ambience and service was excellent. Big praise to the entire team! Wheelchair accessibility: Unfortunately not possible.
Excellent burgers and service. Decent Guinness. A little on the pricy side.
My partner and I visited Marquis the last time we were in London (6 years ago?) ever since ive been scouring google maps trying to remember what this place was called.. needless to say this morning while preparing for a second visit to London Im happy to say I found it! Easily the best pub food ive ever had - im excited to visit again.
Cozy pub, very nice service and restaurant in the upper area.
It was close to my accommodation on my first day in London. I went to have a beer. It felt like 99% of the people were local. The beer is delicious and the atmosphere is fresh. You are kind
Having just arrived in London, 1st restaurant, a delight! Starter, main course, dessert, and really well garnished, everything was perfect! Thank you for this good time. Calm atmosphere, a little background music.
Really very very good food. Very clean place and very fast service. Friendly staff. Recommended... Strategic place to eat before or after the tour of the Harry Potter studios
Excellent bangers and mash!!
I had the best fish and chips in all of London
We had a wonderful time at the Marquis of Westminster. The cuisine is incredible. Marks advice, kindness and welcome overwhelmed us. An excellent address to remember! We will come back with pleasure
Some girl in charge has had a go at the young barman, in front of customers, for being a bit generous with pouring a glass of Prosecco. Really?
Nice enough. Nothing particularly special, but it was clean, had space and cold draught. Just what was needed.
Visited here for a Sunday roast with friends. We ordered the pork but they arrived with beef, as these were the only roasts left, but we weren t told about the change. Food took almost an hour to arrive and when it did it was stone cold. They clearly had a busy day and were understaffed as the waiting staff seem flustered. The pub interior was very nice but seemed to lack ambience, maybe because it was a Sunday evening so was quieter. Would have been nice to have some background music so it wasn t as silent.
Authentic, salty pub. And amazing fish n chips, seriously bangin
Its more like a senior place, very quite, very chill. Didnt tried the food and the beer was without any gas, as still as water. After trying the first beer didnt want to try anything else and left.
Fish and chips were spot on, kind server
Its the perfect British pub!
I passed by on my way back from the museum and used it alone for lunch. Its a cozy pub that you often see in the city, but the food and wine were better than I expected. The Sausage & Mash is slightly sweet, the sausage is perfectly grilled, and the melty mash potatoes go well with the strong-bodied red wine! It was a very good lunch.
Its fine as a quick stop for a drink. Very boring and mediocre Vegetarian options: Yes Dietary restrictions: Yes Parking: Uber or walk Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes minus bathroom.
It is okay location but is the food not have any flavour. I think frozen mostly so best will avoid next time I visit london.
Absolutely amazing Sunday roast as well as dessert! Great service and beautiful interior
Good establishment for meeting up with colleagues or family.
This is the first time Ive seen a place in the UK where the pub and restaurant are separated into the first and second floors, and maybe thats why the food is really delicious. If you come, be sure to order the pie. Its one of the top 3 pies Ive eaten while living in the UK. And even if you like sweet things, I recommend sharing the Stirky Toffee Pudding between two people and ordering another dessert. Its very sweet even for people who like sweet things. The waiter is friendly and good at recommending beers. The atmosphere is nice and if you are staying nearby or passing by, be sure to stop by.
Real local style pub. Special offer of pie and a pint, great value Vegetarian options: Lentil pie, fish pie Food : 5/5 |
very nice pub, with good burgers and friendly service.
Really delicious food with incredible sweet staff. Beautifully decorated!
Check your charges - Went to try my new local - overcharged for 2 pints of Morreti - £21.80 rather than £14.10 - I tapped card before realising - raised straight away - spoke to manager who couldnt find the transaction on their system and therefore wouldnt do anything - wont be returning.
This could have been a great experience. Had an lovely pint of Hawkstone and the guy playing guitar had an lovely voice. Unfortunately we ordered food with the inexperienced barman - he didnt understand how the dumb waiter worked so our food was going up and down like Katie Prices knickers. It ended up being lukewarm and had a congealed layer on it. Apparently they also have a time limit on when you can review the pub after a visit
The place is very very nice and the food is great !! Perfect for a warm summer evening !!
After training in from Canterbury we popped into the M of W and had an absolutely divine lunch. Perhaps the best burger we ve ever tasted outside of the states. Super tasty served up by a wonderful gentleman named Joseph.
Totally recommendable place, very good food located in a good area
Great English pub! I highly recommend the Irish beef short rib Guinness pie! Truly exceptional! Cozy and wonderful atmosphere and service! The girl also let me taste a couple of beers before ordering a really good local one, light and refreshing! Ill be back
First time I visit this place and definitely won t be the last. It was delicious, service was very friendly and all in all it was a great experience. Totally recommended!
Everything was perfect from food to the service to the desserts to the tiniest details at this place! Very recommended if youre in London on a Sunday looking for a place to enjoy lunch/dinner!
Cosy central London pub with all the feelings of a proper local!! Good outside seating and heaters. Very friendly staff and extremely delicious food - in particular the fried pickles and veggie burger. Mark was very helpful when I visited
The sunday roast was everything we dreamt of and more. Perfect! The sticky toffee pudding was to die for. Excellent all the way!
Really nice atmosphere & great food.
Had a great evening Ally and Paul looked after a big group really well
One member of staff, I believe their manager was extremely rude and unwelcoming from the second we got there. Made multiple members of our party feel very uncomfortable. Ruined our experience. Won t be going back.
Visited the pub yesterday with the below party from previous review who are being accused of being verbally abusive . This is completely incorrect. It is clear from your response that the person you spoke to has been approached and is being defensive and twisted the events of yesterday. From the moment we walked in this particular staff member was rude and extremely unhelpful (not sure if this was stress from how busy the pub was?). We emailed a few days in advance to ask for our 3 table bookings to be sat near each other and when we arrived they were on different floors- she immediately said there was nothing she could do and to deal with it, leaving us to try and come up with a solution ourselves. After this, numerous members of our party kept asking why she was singling me out which as a manager is completely unacceptable and I left the pub feeling very upset. When speaking to her at the end to calmly go through my concerns of our evening she even said she was going to come and apologise as she realised she was rude to us throughout our time there. So the news that we were verbally abusive is ridiculous and simply untrue. Contrary to what you said about previous reviews praising staff, I ve read more than half a dozen of your lowest reviews which have highlighted the exact same issues with rude staff at your pub.
Nice pub with good food.
Initially I was happy to see Timothy Taylor being served - usually this would mean a good review. But the pub had a really bad aroma. Think damp and nappies. Grim. No loo roll in either the ladies or gents either- so I guess short of staff. We didn t stay for food.
I cant even begin to describe how lovely this pub is as you head upstairs to the dining room. The wait staff were friendly and helpful in choosing the right dish that youre craving. We came for the London pub experience and left as a satisfied and well-fed guest. We had the fish and chips, which were beyond delicious, the short-rib meat pie and the crispy bacon cheeseburger with frittes. We all raved about each dish and shared a few nibbles with each other, but not too much sharing because of the deliciousness of each. Then we topped the meal off with the toffee sticky pudding (which is a must).
Great place for Sunday lunch. Food was excellent. Good selection of beers. Nice atmosphere. Definitely book a table
Food was very nice, but often too salty.
Perfect spot for our first Sunday dinner in London.
I just had a few beers there. Friendly atmosphere. On the other hand, a little more tolerance would be welcome for those who do not speak English regularly....
Nice pub in the affluent Pimlico neighbourhood. Good burgers. Obviously prices are decidedly higher than more sincere pubs in popular areas of London or the English provinces.
A few downpoints, but good roast and delicious cauliflower cheese. Stay away from brownie!
Ate dinner here last night. Service was great. Our challenge was food poisoning. All members of our party were vomiting all night and exhausted all day today. Spoiled our vacation as our Sunday plans to attend the North London Darby turned to trying to recover. Cleanliness is obviously an issue.
Nice environment and friendly staff. My only quibble is that despite not being busy, we were put on a table closest to the kitchens. Staff were leaving dirty dishes on the counter next to us, and cleaning the dishes and putting scraps into the smelly bin close to us. Of course, this is part of the job, but maybe don t do this so close to customers. We could also hear the loud conversations that the staff were having (great that they clearly are having a great time at work) but maybe again, do this elsewhere or more quietly! Food was ok- overall would return, but be more conscientious next time
Wonderful staff.
Came with friends to introduce our visiting friend to English food. And we managed to beat the perceptions of bad English food and drink! Had a good time. Nothing stood out particularly, but good British food and a nice relaxed atmosphere. The Guinness pie was our favourite!
Had the Sunday roast it tasted lovely and our server Paul was lovely, But the downstairs male toilet had a horrible smell and the upstairs one was broken
Good place for a drink.
Great pub, seems to be a good mix of locals and tourists. Food is really great, better than youd expect.
The restaurant upstairs offers a super nice atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and the Sunday Roast was super good and plenty.
Delicious food! We got fish and chips and a cabbage salad with pumpkin :) We were there while there werent that many customers, so it was nice and quiet while we ate our food :) Can highly recommend the food here!
We were upstairs in the restaurant. Very nice atmosphere, the food was very good and the service was attentive. A very nice evening. Thanks.
Fun pub overall but would not recommend booking for holiday/special event. This review was for our Christmas Day dinner which we sent to the staff afterwards. We have never received any reply from management to our email: There were only three people working the entire restaurant, and of course those three staff members seemed extremely rushed and stressed the entire time (understandably!). This resulted in extended periods of being unattended, necessitating us to actively seek assistance for even the most basic requests. I could understand being shortstaffed on a normal pub night, but on Christmas dinner, this was extremely disappointing, considering the higher price of the fixed dinner menu assumes a higher quality of service and attention. We would have expected the pub to have prepared accordingly as they knew how many bookings they had that night. The £80 set menu price included prosecco, however, we had to request it ourselves, in fact several times as they forgot to bring it again. We were told that wed receive a 5-course dinner, however we only received 3 courses. Our sorbet palate cleanser was never brought, nor were our minced pies - and again, we had to request the tea/coffee ourselves. In my opinion, not receiving the sorbet after our first course as promised is something that should have been addressed during the service. We were only told about the omission of the sorbet at the end of the meal, when the waiter discounted my partners beer because they didnt bring the sorbet. The casual tone used to explain this discrepancy understated the fact that the service in reality skipped over one of the promised dishes that we were paying for. The minced pies were never provided or addressed. Of course, these are two relatively small courses but speaks more to the service that it was not acknowledged whatsoever or considered important to inform the customers of deviations from what customers expect to have paid for. We do not believe that a total of 4 promised courses that were not provided is proportional to the discounted £5.95 beer we received. One of our desserts was also forgotten and had to be requested. Our booking states that we had our table from 3-5:30 pm. However, when we asked for our teas/coffees at 5 pm, the head waiter responded that the pub actually shuts at 5 pm and Im the only one in the building working so bear with me. Again, the high price we each paid means that at bare minimum, we should receive what was promised. However, the fact that we were not very well taken care of during the meal and then told to be patient while receiving items that we had previously paid for was extremely frustrating. After receiving our teas/coffees, we watched as the waiters frantically cleaned up the Christmas decorations from the other tables and began to close down the pub as we sat there. We understand that staff also have families and friends to spend time with during Christmas dinner, but we found the rushed manner sincerely unprofessional considering we had not overstayed our time allotment.
What a surprise. I went in expecting typical pub food, but what I got was delightful, colorful, and super tasty. I had the Sunday roast with just veggies, and finished off the meal with the sticky toffee pudding. Wow!
We had a full day in Greenwich and stumbled upon this restaurant after a boat back to Westminster. We were starving, worn out, and did not think to book a reservation anywhere. We were greeted by friendly waitstaff who let us take a no-show no call reservation. The menu was a little pricier than what I would normally go for. I had a traditional English roast and boyfriend had a bacon burger. The atmosphere was quiet and inviting and the food was amazing. Would definitely come again, next time with a reservation!
Delicious vegan Sunday roast. Great service
Came for their famous roast dinner and it definitely did not disappoint! Beef was great quality and cooked perfectly and the pork was tasty and tender. The veg was cooked perfectly and served in a big portion. Certainly will be recommending this for others and returning next time we are in London.
Saw on their website that they offered a jalapeño margarita, so we decided to check this place out. When I ordered it, I was told they dont have any fruit...?. The disinterested bartender said he could make a regular margarita but it will take a long time because its busy. I can make a margarita in less than 90 seconds and I dont do it for a living. (Also, there was no one behind us, waiting to order.) Got a lackluster vodka tonic, before heading ro The Warwick for FAR better drinks and service. Been to so many great establishments since we arrived in London; this was not one of them.
visiting from Australia and found this absolute gem. great atmosphere and the food was AMAZING. We went on a sunday and the sunday roast was to-die-for. We sat in the restaurant upstairs where Paul delivered amazing service. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great meal with even better service.
Awesome find - food is great - very popular so booking essential. Service and staff are extremely good.
I recently visited this pub and had an amazing experience! The service was top-notch, especially thanks to Yula. She was super efficient and helped me choose from their delicious menu. The atmosphere was great, and the food and drinks were fantastic. I highly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a memorable time with great service.
Delightful Sunday roast during the London marathon. It was very busy and the friendly staff accommodated a walk-in.
Simply wonderful! Sat by the fireplace, everyone was totally relaxed, friendly, great atmosphere, positive vibe.
Smelt very strongly of fish. Nice coffee tho.
Saw rugby here. Great pub, good food and cold beer.
My family and I found this pub randomly and are very pleased! The food is excellent with the essential fish and chips, and the waiters/waitresses are exemplary professional with good humor. The guiness is also very good. Thank you again, I highly recommend!
We may have to return to try the Sunday lunches which looked amazing!
It was OK. The wine is on the expensive side. The service was OK. Can be rowdy at times
We had a good time, but we had to sit outside cause of the no-smoking law, but the lamp that we have for heat it wasnt working very well, great service the barman gave us good suggestions, and the Beer was excellent!!!
Great pub. Food and service was great; they were very helpful with the kids. Outside tables ideal when sunny too.
perfect place for a Sunday lunch. Lovely service, great food, perfect traditional pub atmosphere.
No coment this time for food as I only stopped here for drinks. £20 for two beers and a cider was a bit steep. But otherwise a nice venue.
Had Sunday roast on Mothers day. Yula and Paul served us and they made the experience memorable. Great food and excellent service.
Very good fish and chips in a cozy and modern atmosphere.
English pub, dining room on the top floor, elegant design, very friendly service, abundant and very delicious food.
No way! Good Guinness but terrible service, no food service for certain people at the pub...
Great pub....
Very tasty food, the girl excellent at service (she brought beers for a taste test, which one we like!!!) Very beautiful atmosphere, low lighting!!!!
Absolutely great Sunday lunch and a great pint of Guinness. The sharing roast platter is great value and the upstairs restaurant is nice place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Great friendly service too, highly recommended!
What an amazing find. In London for a couple days and stumbled upon this place. Doom Bar is always a decent beverage but coupled with the sea bass, just awesome. Hand on heart, service was great and absolutely the BEST sea bream Ive had. Cooked to perfection and complimented by seasoned green beans and potatoes.
Wonderful
Didnt eat so cant review the food, but great little pub!
Very nice food
Amazing place with great food!
We had Sunday roast here yesterday and it was amazing! My 4 year old was with us and he loved it too. The food was incredible and even the kids burgers are great!! The wine was delicious too :-) We had a great time and the service was excellent! Will deffo be back!! Kid-friendliness: My son was welcomed and he felt very comfortable :-)
Had a reservation for 5 people for our eldest sons birthday, my husband and myself arrived a little before the reservation time but the manager was extremely friendly and took our drinks order and brought it to the table. When the others arrived, we had preordered there drinks in advance, he brought the drinks over and gave us time to choose our food. There was no rush to choose and when we placed our order it wasn t long before the food arrived. All of us were completely blown away by our meals, absolutely delicious, would definitely recommend visiting and eating there. Would recommend Butlers bangers, bacon chop, fish n chips and steak and ale pie Thank you for a fantastic lunch
Great party night in cellar bar...
Very tasty Sunday Roast and a very pleasant atmosphere, the service is quick and very friendly.
I wouldnt come here again for anything except a roast - my friends who had the Sunday roast enjoyed it alot. I had the butternut squash salad which was mostly cold couscous straight out of the fridge and not very nice. We were seated downstairs which felt like an overflow area rather than the main restaurant. Come for Sunday roast - not great if you want something else.
The w5t koollkkokooki 3rd r
We went for the festive menu and the turkey was incredibly fatty and was not worth £26.
We stopped here after a trip abroad. Its a quick walk from Victoria, but far enough that you dont get travellers there. Its a small place with more seating upstairs. It was relatively quiet when we went in the middle of the afternoon on Wednesday before Christmas. The food was great! The service was excellent we didnt get his name, but our server was very friendly and made a huge effort with our 2 year old. It was the perfect welcome back to the UK
Recently checked out MoW with office crowd. Let down by non-delivery of ales & bitters. Knocked out 4-5 options on pumps. Not a good showing unfortunately, in the peak wk before XMas.
Bar was empty, rude barman, not helpful at all. Asked for Mulled wine, not available, asked for coffee / tea not available. Just so unhelpful and unfriendly. Seemed more interested in speaking to his mate at the end of the bar than serving the only customers he had. Wouldn t recommend.
Excellent place !
Great food and service - thanks again Courtney!
Excellent Christmas dinner, thank you for a lovely day and your hard work
Everything was perfect, including the scotch eggs, leaf pie, and beef dishes. The fish and chips were also amazing Ive never seen fish and chips like this haha. The staff was so friendly that I happily ate with my family (4 people) throughout the meal. I want to come again!!!!
Nice pub
Wonderful atmosphere, great service and delicious food. The Fish and Chips were perfectly cooked, the Leek and Chicken pie was amazing and the toffee pudding was a perfect way to end a meal.
Great vibes! The upstairs area is a nice, quiet(er) place for dining. Tasty food with a variety of options. DEFINITELY try the chicken and leek pie!
On first glance this place was great but the service was terrible. My friends and I each ordered a drink and I suppose the bartender cancelled a transaction or something happened and she was claiming we didn t pay for a drink, however we saw it on the bank statement that it did go through. I kept my calm and tried to explain our confusion but she got angry and was yelling and took my drink away demanding we pay for the drinks we thought we already paid for. It s very dissapointing how she handled this because I understand she was confused but so were we, so being yelled at and watching her throw the machine and storm away was so unprofessional. Her coworker tried to step in but she told him not to and I think he should have. She did not handle this well and we will never come back here absolutely ridiculous service. I understand getting confused as I work in customer service as well but this was not handled well and I do not appreciate being yelled at over a simple misunderstanding.
When in London we were told we needed to have a Sunday Roast. I reviewed many places and chose Marquis of Westminster and was I glad we did!! First off the presentation of our meal was out of this world. We had the 4 person Sunday Roast (which could feed 5) everything was mouth watering bite after bite. No one was disappointed about anything. Our favorites were the beef, chicken, potatoes and carrots, but again it was all delicious. We ended with the Sticky Toffee Pudding and that was so flavorful and tasty, the bits of toffee were a great bite. The server was very nice and knew her stuff. If I am ever in London again and in need of a Sunday Roast I will be going back there!!!!! It is the best!!!!
Lovely food and great service.
It was the best roast weve ever had :) Amazing pub staff and service. Will definitely return! Food
Really cute and quick dinner spot in Pimlico. The chicken and leek pie was incredible. Chips served with the bacon burger were also fantastic. And the salted caramel espresso martini saved my evening!
Fabulous service, food and staff. What an amazing time we had. You wont be disappointed.
We ate excellent fish and chips, welcoming place and friendly staff. Advised.
Warm welcome, relaxed atmosphere and very good food! The unmissable Fish & Chips is incredible, I really enjoyed it. My friend chose a burger which she loved. As a starter we shared the beetroot falafels with tahini cream: a treat! And the sticky toffee pudding is to die for!!! Looking forward to being able to go back Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options and even some vegan.
Turned up at 8.45pm on Friday and was warmly welcomed. The food was excellent and fresh, and the service spot-on, despite the late hour.
Far too noisy
Business lunch. Was told the restaurant upstairs was closed when we got there. But that we could have the same menu in the pub. Not an issue although the music was a little loud for a lunchtime. Food and drink were good. I did the parsnip soup (delicious) and the chicken & leek pie (very good). Lunch and drinks for 2 for £102. Not bad.
Amazing Sunday roast
Nice food. Such a shame for the bar staff. Absolutely appalling, is the most creditworthy I can give - the face of misery walking in and during service lacking personality. I saw customers walking out due to the service, basically giving money to your competitors Then some of the local working class to middle class customers whose behaviour is equally rude, thinking that they are entitled but living the dream renting My family have been drinking in this pub for many year but NOT ANYMORE. Reputation and the word of mouth is sure to spread In time the customers will thin out for sure . Let s see how busy you are over Christmas?
The man staff is friendly but the women doesn t want to serve us. I wait in the bar to order food and she didn t even welcome me and leave. We were very upset for £10+ for 2 little bottle 330ml of coke. (£8.9 + 12.5 % service charge) all the drinks on the drink menu has the price apart from the soft drink and this prices shocked us. If we know in advance, would not have it at all. The food was not hot enough. We wait like 30 mins for the burger and Sunday roast beef. The chips was warm seems not fresh fries. Compare to the price not valuable.
Really great roast and friendly staff.
Probably the best roast dinner I ve ever had in a pub! Not many places you can get a Roast Turkey dinner this time of year without having to to pre-order! 10/10 would recommend. Also got myself a cheeky lunchtime cocktail and the staff were so helpful when I couldn t decide If you re passing through Pimlico, this is the spot to go!
A very un-traditional lunch of beetroot falafel and spicy parsnip and apple soup. Beautiful flavours and a nice pint of Rudolph. Lovely service. Pubs in this area can be hit and miss - this is a hit
Great sharing roast. Unlimited gravy and yorkshires. Would thoroughly recommend
Nice cosy pub. Great service. The food was incredible. Highly recommend the chicken pie with mash.
Food, staff and atmosphere are ok.
The three of us agreed, a cold Sunday called for the traditional Sunday roast, pub lunch. The reservation system was a bit messy, but they found a place for us anyway, and we could not be happier. Lovely, lovely, lovely...
We had delicious Sunday roasts, and on the week day- fish&chips that are the best! Ill definitely be back.
Busy but vibrant venue with good food, better drinks, and fantastic staff. Highly recommended!
Amazing food there , hummus is a must try!! And the bread
Took myself out to a nice dinner! I had reservations and everything lol. A short walk from my hotel was the Marquis of Westminster, gastropub. I saved a traditional Sunday dinner for Sunday night...of course I got the roast beef! It was delicious. I dont like beets but everything else was gone! Very tasty! Its a 3 floored layout, with small staircases and the restaurant was upstairs. They use a shoot to deliver food. Not very many tables. Not very handicap accessible, but I have found that most restaurants here are not. So many to choose from, most are full, thats why I booked this yesterday.
Booked for a Christmas dinner and had a long discussion with the staff about allergens in the menu. They were really helpful and gave us a free bottle of Prosecco and no service charge as they weren t able to accommodate one of our group. The guy who served us was really attentive and helpful and helped us to have a wonderful time.
Was very much looking forward to this visit but was left disappointed. One of our party is coeliac (gluten allergy) and we d checked the allergen menu online and called to confirm this could be catered for. On arrival we were told that actually none of the friers were safe. No worries, asked if we could swap out fries for something like mash potato. The manager then disappeared for 20 minutes leaving one waitress who had no idea what was happening. On return she said all she could do was give us the allergen list (which, super helpfully, didn t correspond to what was on the website). As it was a busy night (reader, it was not a busy night) she couldn t help us any further - she had to be pushed to be bothered to ask the chef if he would sub out chips for mash . Then, they gave us dessert menus, then forgot about us, then told us kitchen was closed. Staff were lazy, incompetent and clearly couldn t give a stuff about allergies. Worst excuse for a gastro pub I ve been to in ages. Manager should be ashamed of herself. Dietary restrictions: A lie.
Very expensive. Eats well but very expensive
Appalling customer service. Staff at this place shouts at customers and embarrassed me in front of my friends. I am a local resident and I will never come back here I have never felt so uncomfortable/ unwelcome in a restaurant in all my life.
THE CHAPTER SHARING ROAST PLATTER WAS INCREDIBLE! Ive had a lot of pub roasts in London, but this one has taken the crown. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service was excellent. Couldnt have asked for a better way to spend our Sunday afternoon. Thanks. Food
Best Sunday Roast in London to Date! Fantastic portion size at a really good price shared a chapter roast with some sides between myself and three mates, were all big lads and we were chuffed n stuffed by the time we rolled down the street. Big thanks to Nick, Leyha and Courtney for the fantastic service and the unsung hero of a chef for the roast. Xoxo
The sauce was a bit watery and too much of pepper. service was slow and they brought us to the small table in front of a coffee machine even though weve booked in advance. Food
Amazing roast platter, looking forward to going back!
