31-36 Leicester Square, London WC2H 7LH, United Kingdom
As alive and vibrant as its central London neighbourhood, Leicester Square Kitchen showcases an exquisite selection of contemporary Mexican and Peruvian small plates, entrées and specialities, alongside reserve wines and signature cocktails. Bridging the gap between authenticity and modernity, the design employs a playful duality between colours and materials, with black and white marble tables contrasting exposed columns and bright metro tiles shining to the backdrop of dark brick walls.
This restaurant is attached to a hotel in Leicester Square, great location and ambience is good although quite quiet. We got the short rib and fish taco to start which were both amazing but small- probably about 2-3 bites. Calamari was good too but lacked a sauce. Wings were really juicy but overpriced. We got the rib eye steak which was okay but lacked flavour and they don’t really have any side options to pair. Beef was good too but same again, needs a side. Prices are quite a lot for the portion but may be due to the location. We had £50 off so it was worth it for us.
Every time we come to London we end up here mainly for the Tommy’s margaritas, then the habanero matchstick chicken and the Wagyu sliders, the list is endless. Excellent Peruvian and Mexican food with great service
Went on a Friday afternoon for a team lunch. The staff were very helpful. Had late lunch from 2pm. The place was empty, which gave us a lot of time to chill and catchup on a sunny friday afternoon. The starters and mains were amazing! Mini tacos and beef sliders took top spot for me! Dessert flavours were a little too adventurous for me.
This was our 8th visit and 2nd this year. I’m still rating it a 5 but on our latest visit we arrived just before 1 and the service was exceptionally slow. It took nearly 25 minutes to finally get a bottle of wine. On querying the wait we were told it was very busy. On arrival there was a table x 2, Tx1 and a tx8. So I can’t understand the wait. There also seemed to be plenty of servers. If this was our first visit we’d definitely not return and it’d be 1 star. Anyway on to the Positives. The food just gets better each time. The freshness of the food is amazing as are the flavours. Also the hot sauce really hits the spot. I look forward to every mouthful. We cannot complain in anyway about the food. It’s also in a great location. Hopefully our next visit the speed and service is back to normal. See you soon. Nick
An excellent gem in Leicester Square. Attentive and professional staff. A great vibe and the food was exceptional. We loved the fusion of Mexican and Peruvian and the baja tacos were sublime! The small dishes were sufficient to share and the wine and company…magnífica! Loved the decor and the facilities - always a good tell of the care of a restaurant were very good. It was a delight to visit.
Fabulous night spent in London around a wonderful Christmas market and eating at this excellent establishment. The Ceviche was needed twice, guac was on point and the old fashioned with tequila was definitely different but delicious. The wild mushroom risotto was the center of our table which was cooked to perfection. Definitely will be back.
Service The waiters who served us were very pleasant. Asking about allergies, setting the table for us, always refilling our water and checking in on us. Made for a relaxed dining experience despite how busy the restaurant was Atmosphere Tastefully decorated, there was lots of light stone and dark woods to accentuate the lighting of the interior. There was no music playing on the day and conversations from table to table were barely audible so it was nice not to shout at those sitting right next or across from you Food The food is incredibly delicious, whilst watching mouthwatering dishes pass by and getting excited for your own. They have a range of different dishes to suit all diets and the presentation is excellent. Not to mention some very interesting twists like a habanero ice cream to go with your chocolate tacos It is recommended by the wait staff to order plates to share with one another. But at these prices, you'd have to be very careful with your wallet as the portion sizes are on the small side
Recently I had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant that served some of the most delicious food, however, I have to mention that the portion sizes were disappointingly small. That being said, I also do feel that the prices were incredibly high given the stingy sizes. By the way, these are not fancy gourmet ornamented plates. While the quality of the food was undeniable, I left feeling hungry. Tables were also small and uncomfortable. While the staff was attentive, they seemed a bit overeager to clear plates and rush us through our meal. There were several instances where we were asked if we were finished with a dish before we had even taken our last -incredibly tiny- bite. At this point you want to finish the meal alone and in peace. I also found that the staff was a bit pushy in trying to get us to order additional items. They are aware of the flaws in the main courses proportions. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant and would advise diners to order a lot of extra dishes to ensure that they leave feeling slightly satisfied. It reminded me of phoebe criticizing Monica’s restaurant: I ordered the appetizer but I can’t see it I can’t see it!
The food was excellent in small morsels of pleasure. The waiting staff is attentive and smiling (unlike many London restaurants) and the service was efficient which helped us finish on time for the show.
We had an amazing dinner with friends. Food was top notch and great cocktails. Athul, Zsolt and Astel made our evening special. Thank you!
Extremely delicious food. Really recommand. With the sharing concept, you get to taste a lot of different options.
Absolutely loved this restaurant! The food was great and quick to come. The waiters were so sweet. We mentioned at one point of the dinner that it was my grandmothers birthday, so they surprised her with a macaroon with cute decorations and a happy birthday written with chocolate on the plate. They really went above and beyond as we didnt even ask for it, but the waiter took the initiative to do this for us. We got served by a pleasant and delightful Swedish waiter. The atmoshpere is surprisingly chill for a restaurant in central london. It wasnt empty, but it wasnt too full either making it lovely for the evening. There was a live DJ playing lively, cool music during the whole evening. Perfect for pre theatre meals because the food comes very quickly and it is conveniently near so many theatres. The food was delicious and shockingly satiating despite the portions being small. I recommend ordering the options like tapas (order many small dishes at once) so that you can fill yourself and try lots of it.
Ordered a cabbage steak and got this after waiting for so long. The waiter was very kind and trying to help us but the food itself was disappointing.
We had quite high expectations, but they sank as soon as we set foot inside the door. Bad service, some dishes were not cooked enough, after 90 min our children had not received any food, the sound volume from the DJ was so high that you could not talk in the company or for that matter with the serving staff who made mistakes in most of them. To spice up the review a little extra, they thought it appropriate to try to charge £250 more than we received food/drink for. Choose another place!
I had reserved for 8 p.m., a table for 7 We arrived 12 minutes late, apologizing The waiter behind the bar refused us, not very kindly, saying that the kitchen closed at 8 p.m....
We reserved a table for 9 to 8 p.m. We arrived at 8:12 p.m. and initially I was told that unfortunately they tried to call me to tell me that my reservation was not possible (I never received a single call), then insistently we were told that we arrived late (12 minutes!) and that the kitchens will close (at 8:15 p.m.!!) Were talking about the restaurant at the Radison Blue hotel! Deplorable, the worst welcome in London To be completely avoided
Food was amazing! Especially the battered prawn. Service was also great, Athul, our waiter, was fantastic and really made the experience lovely.
Fabulous food and service - Athol, our server, went above and beyond..... cool guy serving amazing food!
The food was amazing and service exceptional. Athol in particular was very welcoming and attentive throughout adding to our experience. Dietary restrictions: Asked about dietary restrictions before ordering
Great ambiance & concept. Ordering a bit confusing. I suggest mostly to share. Dishes excellent, but some are spicy. I suggest the team to either add small symbols to the menu or warn the guests plus better explain the sharing concept. :)
Good cocktails and dessert, average food, just terrible service. The restaurant had 4-5 tables upon our arrival but we waited 10min for a menu, another 15min for someone to take our order. No one came to refill water during our entire dining time, we constantly had to flag down wait staff. Terrible dining experience, would not recommend.
As a Londoner, this an obvious place to avoid as it has the reputation of a tourist trap. The food was surprisingly good, but we were overcharged twice. Sadly, the reputation is warranted. First the bill didn t deduct what was already pre-paid from the reservation, second the wine was charged differently to what we ordered. Mistakes can happen, but twice is not a coincidence. As a Londoner this is a natural place to avoid, as a visitor, be told that there are lots of restaurants in the vicinity with far better value and lower chances of getting overcharged.
Aiswary was our waitress and she was excellent. Listened and made suggestions based on understanding our pallet. The food was lovely and it was a great day out
The food, drink and service at Leicester Square Kitchen were superb, one of the best Mexican restaurants weve ever been to and definitely the best in the UK. Everything we ordered was delicious, but special mentions for the short rib tacos, as well as the stone bass and mezcal glazed ribs. The jalapeno margarita was the best cocktail weve had in a long time. The manager and server Ashwara were both so attentive and knowledgeable. Could not recommend highly enough, and absolutely worthwhile with the 20% off offer Sunday-Friday.
One of my favorite spots in the area, perfect for a sharing concept. The beef tacos and duck salad are particular standouts for me, and overall, the food is excellent for the price. The setting is both stylish and comfortable, making it easy to have a conversation with friends, even on a busy Friday evening. The staff deserves the highest praise; they always take great care of us. I ll definitely be back.
Addithyin my server was so nice and welcoming. The food is good value and ambiance is cool.
Drinks were good. Food was just ok. Service was terrible. Inattentive and almost negligent in how serviced the tables. It was early Thursday evening and the restaurant was 30% occupied and yet somehow, servers were inattentive.
Very good hotel breakfast with amazing coffee and amazing staff.
Although Ive given this 3 stars overall, I must say I actually really enjoyed the food. Everything was clean, flavourful and well cooked. Drinks were good, service was a little slow but we were always kept updated when there were delays on the kitchen which is all you can reasonably ask for. Establishment was clean and I would definitely go back. However the overall score is based on value. My friend and I went for the set menu and whilst its reasonably priced, the portion sizes were somewhat dissapointing for what was paid. This is a quick fix (in my opinion) where a side of carbs like fries, mash or rice would be good to help get satiated.
Nice experience good food too.
All six of us ordered the pre theater menu. The chicken wings, duck salad and the avocado salad are all very tasty. Gill wagyu beef sliders and mushrooms risotto were delicious. Mango rice pudding dessert was the best. The service is outstanding and quick (very accommodating, since we only have an hour to eat before the show starts) and the food was on point. Only concern, the dishes can be a bit spicy.
I tried their calamari 10/10 and they have nice avocado salad that is really delicious also their chicken skewers were nice ( these were Halal options ) just in case needed
The staff was very friendly and made good recommendations
I really like this place. In fact, I may love it. It s beautiful and chic. A welcome sudamericano oasis in the heart of this bustling square. The food is fresh, bright and delicious. A little spicy. Try the sea bass ceviche with corn and avocado. Epic. I ate whole thing. Which was not my intention. And don t forget the guac with a hint of cumin. I ll be back for a post movie fix. LQK keep it up.
Everything was PERFECT. I ate there three times in four days, it was so good. The cocktails, the dishes, the service, the location... everything is worthy of a great restaurant.
Had a birthday meal here last night before a show for my son. Food was INCREDIBLE and service was swift and polite. Really recommend!
Although food was spicier than we expected, we truly enjoyed our dinner! Adithyan gave us great service and we felt really welcomed. Thank you so much to him and the team. Food : 5/5
Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free choices. Recommended dishes
Modern and clean dining space, inside the Radisson on Leicester Square. Good food in the small plates style. Theyre quite keen on spice. The waiting staff were attentive and helpful. Note that the asparagus was awful, overcooked and did not taste good, but they happily removed it from the bill. I would definitely recommend the tacos, both the crispy Baja and beef, they were really tasty. It was very quiet inside the restaurant with maybe a handful of tables occupied. Parking: There is some paid street parking in nearby streets, all RingGo spaces, you only pay until 1830 then its free. Otherwise you would need to consider a multi-storey - there is one available in Chinatown at £10 per hour. Wheelchair accessibility: Step free access from street level, a lift is available down to the bathrooms.
Uninspired and overpriced, look elsewhere unless you have more money than taste
Extremely overpriced, and with small portions but was tasty. Service from staff was good from most but waitress was rather rude.
Great quality food, with a wide variety of options. The cocktails were also very good. Great service all round.
Excellent authentic food. I had the beef skewers and was very full, I shared tomato cerviche and plant based tacos with my wife. Shes vegetarian so she had the soya mince empanadas. They were lovely but far too small. Bigger portions for the veggie food would mean 5 stars. Very calm place great service
This restraunt had a really nice atmosphere with ambient lighting and we were initially pleased with where we had chosen based on this. It is the type of place which allows you to wind down and feel a little bit sophisticated, the waiting service was to a good standard. We ordered from a set menu but still got a small choice within that menu. We thought that this menu made the food sound really complicated but had no simple explanation of what each dish was, we had to ask (which wasnt a problem) and we were expecting to be blown away by some posh nosh. At this point we were more than happy with our choices so far but when every dish came out we felt it was not to the standard that it should be for this type of restaurant. For me the food was a bit like stuff we could knock up quickly at home but poshed up a bit with either a flower or some spicy sauce (which wasnt unpleasant). The best dish was one that we managed to combine. My wife had some chicken wings with spicy sauce and I had a crispy duck salad which were way too simple on thier own but adequate together. We then had 3 x micro burgers on a posh plate which tasted great but 2 with a little something to compliment them would have been much better. Lastly I was excited by the sound of mojito soaked fruit with ice cream but it was watery and felt Sub standard for this type of eatery. All in all a nice place with effort on the decor but the cuisine could be improved.
Booked on a whim last minute, and I have been back several times since then with different people. Great food, atmosphere and service. Easy to rack the bill up with food and drinks, but makes for nice evening.
Went to a business meeting
The portions aren t as small as I thought they would be having read the reviews. On this visit we got: - crispy tiger prawns (my favourite dish of our meal) - seabass ceviche (portion size was very generous) - baja fish taco (underwhelming, don t bother) - pork ribs (more tender than I thought) The restaurant was extremely busy on a Saturday evening. The food came quickly but we weren t very well looked after, the waiter kept trying to take our dishes away when we hadn t finished and it took 20 minutes to get the bill.
Thanks to Bento. This place is great with the music and espically
We had visited once before (which was an amazing experience) so decided to visit for Mothers Day. We were not disappointed and so glad that the standard of food and service has remained as high as our previous visit. Staff were amazing and knowledgeable on the food. Very attentive and always on hand to accommodate any request. The food is second to none. We will definitely be back again.
The food is divine and its an explosion of flavours. Staff is lovely and polite Food
I was quite disappointed because the cuisine was too spicy (even though I am Peruvian) and there was a table in front of us that was literally screaming so it was not ideal for a quiet romantic dinner - on the other hand the decor is very nice
Not great - wouldn t return
Great service!
A restaurant that offers Peruvian and Mexican cuisine. The fried squid is very crispy and sweet. The fried chicken steak and grilled Wagyu beef are also very well prepared. The dishes are rich in spices and are a bit spicy. The dessert pudding with cookies is delicious. The restaurant atmosphere is very good. The staff Friendly service, happy to celebrate my birthday
Super super tasteful!!
Reservation was canceled 2 hours in advance on December 31st... New Years Eve. Very disappointing, extremely poor service.
Amazing food did however order to much but the waiter did warn us
We arrived for our meal and was sat down, with our drinks ordered fairly quickly..... We then waited a fair amount of time before we could order. We ordered from the set menu. Starters eventually came out, but only four of the 6 dishes. We waited patiently (luckily they were not hot meals as would have been cold).... After 8-10 minutes we asked where the other two meals were and they then came out..... As an apology we were given a bowl of essentially Doritos and not much of an apology. For the mains the same happened again although not such a delay as the starters, but we were still left waiting a considerable time for all the dishes to arrive, and these dishes were hot so had started to become cold. As for the food everyone enjoyed their food, although the amount of spice in all the dishes took some people by surprise..... Maybe there can be a key indicating the approximate level of spice? Due to the speed of service we had to cancel our last course due to commitments elsewhere unfortunately. We then had trouble paying for our meal and almost had to grab someone to pay..... Despite standing patiently with our coats on Personally if I had been the one paying (someone paid for all as needed to go quickly) I wouldnt have left as much of a service tip(as you take 12.5% straight away) as I didnt feel the service was of a good standard...... Which is a shame, and having a wife who used to work in this line of work, I fully appreciate what tips mean to the staff etc and how they can make a difference.... But I feel this sometimes is the only way a company can maybe see feedback in how their business is doing.
Set menus were brilliant, incredibly tasty and spicy food. We shared our plates so we got try a little of everything. Risotto and duck salad starter stood out.
Vibes on vibes, service was amazing and food was delectable, honestly worth the price. Was just enough food to make you full. Perfect place for pictures too because of the atmosphere, toilets were amazing.
Great location, good food, table seating a little cosy. Excellent margarita.
Great girls night out. The food was amazing.
I had high hopes for the Leicester Square Kitchen. Its a really nice looking restaurant. We had a 3 course pre-theatre menu, so ordered two drinks, two small plates, two mains and two desserts. Our drinks were really lovely (I had the Diplomatico) but came with huge pieces of ice that actually made drinking a slight challenge until we removed some of it. For the small plates, we ordered the duck and the seared avocado and cancha. Both came with a large amount of salad leaves (seared avocado was advertised as a salad, duck was not). There was maybe 5 tiny pieces of avocado in the salad; we played hunt the avocado. I put more in an average taco at home. There was more grapefruit than avocado, and plenty of cancha (toasted large corn the size of hominy). It was overdressed in the dressing. The duck, on the other hand, despite being overwhelmed by the amount of salad, was phenomenal. It was perfectly seasoned and crispy and the papaya chili dressing was well balanced and brought out the taste of the duck. So good. For mains, we had the sliders and the risotto. Both were really good but the risotto was the clear winner between the two. I was slightly apprehensive about it because Im a philistine who doesnt really like truffles - but the earthiness was again well balanced against the chili and other ingredients in the risotto. The sliders were great and actually had what most closely resembled Mexican chorizo Ive had in the UK. Again, good spices. For dessert, we had the arroz con leche and the taco xocolatl. The taco was so good - the chocolate mole was good and unusual and had a good companion in both the agave salsa and sour cream ice cream. The arroz con leche was good... But I dont know if Id advertise something as arroz con leche if you only give a tablespoon or so of rice in the midst of a sea of mango pico de gallo. The mango was lovely (cilantro despite advertised wasnt seen) and a good pairing with the rice, but it would have been nice to have more equally balanced numbers. For the amount given, we were only given four chips, which is a bit sad as they were lovely. Lastly... The service in this place is the real letdown. I rarely, if ever, complain about service because Ive been there myself. The house was about half full. We were seated for a good while before being brought our menus, got some of the most haphazard drinks recommendations known to humankind, had to ask twice for our drinks (which came after the food, I think), and had to ask 5 times (yes 5) for our bill at the end. Literally everyone around us, were brought their bills first and then we had to chase around and pay. We were honest about our curtain time; having to chase the bill repeatedly and then chase to actually pay in order to make the theatre was not great. The waiter quite literally walked by 5-6 times without doing much (Ive worked service) before he brought the bill then absolutely disappeared when several tables were ready to pay. So odd. Part of me thought it was to ensure they got their recommended gratuity. Not great. If there werent many restaurants in the West End, I might return, but as theres so many great ones out there - I probably wont.
Sonia was a wonderful service attendant in the restaurant. This was our second trip to the Hotel. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
Gorgeous food and setting, would 100% go back. Recommend the ceviche!
We loved the concept: small dishes from Peruvian and Mexican cuisine - to taste and share. All food was tasty, fresh and well presented. The deserts were heavenly. Attentive and professional service. We booked a table online, which was easy and efficient
An excellent Christmas lunch! Vegetarian options: For me I chose a vegetarian menu. And it was great
Visited on a Saturday lunch. Food was good but portions small. The restaurant was nice but very quiet which affected the atmosphere. Service OK but no check to see how the food was and if we needed anything else . I think given other reviews I expected a lot more , left feeling a bit disappointed.
I can t comment on the food but only the service, I struggled to find anywhere to feed my 3 month old baby this afternoon and I walked in here with no reservation and the staff were kind and attentive and let me feed my baby at one of the tables. Thank you :) I ordered a latte which was lovely.
Dhaval is amazing! Best host ever, so attentive and so informative. Definitely coming back again for the delicious food - glorious
The atmosphere to this place is very high-end business professional vibes which is nice even though I tend to like restaurants with a more unique personal feel. The staff were kind and attentive and the food was good. Some of the tapas were a bit overpriced in my opinion for the small amount of food you get however the presentation to every dish is social media worthy. The paprika chips tasted great. The guacamole tasted more like a salsa than guacamole but still tasted good. Overall, this place is a good choice if you are in the area, in the mood for some moderately spicy Mexican inspired food and looking for a higher-end restaurant to eat in.
Beef tacos good
Ask for the spicy sauce (green) and get the skewers. Make a good old fashioned as well.
Really disappointing, especially if you don t like spicy food and/or expect a restaurant to moderate their spice levels for you when most of the menu is spicy. Their guacamole looked like green cat vomit. It was spicy and could not be changed. Not good. Their fish tacos were spicy, and could not be changed because they were pre-made. My boyfriend still ordered them and he was so disappointed by the taste, he sent them back. The fish ceviche was my highlight. Overall, not worth it.
The service is almost too good. The server comes back with water every couple minutes for the entire duration of your dinner. I think leaving a water at the table & fill it up when needed would have been adequate. Our food did not come for a long time and dishes came sporadically/never at the same time. They gave us a starter on the house for waiting, which was nice. There was nothing that I had that wasn t spicy, and my stomach was extremely uncomfortable all night after dinner. I can handle spice, but don t tend to have everything on my plate with it. I think a name change that reflected the spicy food would be better branded.
Started with a mezcal cocktail and another passion fruit number. We also had the duck salad, tenderloin skewers, sea bass ceviche, and Wagyu sliders. We got two sides as recommended with the mains too, charred kale and some lime and coriander rice. Everything was really tasty and delicious. The service was really good too
Fabulous food, professional table service. Definitely recommend a visit.
Visited on a Saturday evening after a show - we had no reservation but managed to get a table for two at around 9:30pm (it can be breezy if you re sat near the entrance, however!) Service was prompt and friendly and the menu is a fusion concept - we ordered from the Mexican side and found most dishes really tasty. The tacos and duck salad were great and the margaritas were fresh. The cauliflower dish, however, is one to avoid - the coating is overspiced and under seasoned, and the cauliflower was raw and crunchy despite us sending it back for more cooking. Overall not a bad meal, and I d probably drop in again if I found myself in the area with no reservation on a Saturday night!
Save yourself from an unpleasant experience. To service is a joke - they don t remember what order they take, bring everything at random times so some people sit hungry when others have eaten, constantly come and ask whether they ve brought you the right thing, forget the cutlery. You re ready for deserts and the sides are being brought and then we get to the actual food - the tomato ceviche comes with a sticker on it!! Seems like they don t even wash the fruit and veg they serve. As a cherry on top, the temperature in the restaurant is not far of from a finish sauna so you re being cooked while you re experiencing all this. At £40pp for a light meal, this place is an insult and no self respecting individual should find themselves having dinner here.
Cosy and quiet place, great food!
Portions so small its laughable. The quality is not good either. As for the staff, they confuse good service with being annoying.
My partner booked a reservation here for our anniversary and the food and service was just amazing. We was served by Dhaval & Nicole and they were both so lovely, friendly and helpful; as it was our first time they went through the menu for us. They have good variety of vegetarian dishes and everything just had so much flavour. Would definitely come back!
Nishil gave us an amazing service to make us happy and made the moment extremely memorable. He made every moment right for us and we enjoyed it. it was a very great experience and I would definitely come here again for the nice atmosphere and of course Nishils service.I enjoyed the food a lot!
Some interesting dishes and the tastes were decent. However, like other commenters, I also found the portions on the small side. Servers were friendly and the atmosphere was great.
If youre in Leicester Square this place is worth a visit. Mix of Peruvian/Mexican tapas style food. All of which was delicious, good wine list and the Pisco Sour cocktails are good too. Definitely will be returning.
I eat out a lot , this place was awful. they wouldnt govr us a table but the restaurant was enpty all night. The service was bad, it took me 20 minutes to get a drink. they told us dishes were vegan on ordering and then told us when serving thay dishes were not vegan. they said they couldnt serve us rissoto so the only vegan main was cabbage. Finally they agreed to serve us risotto wothout mushroom but refused to copk another vegetable to put it - pre cooked food or lazy chefs. we asked to speak to the cehf, the chef refused to speak to us. All of the food was too spicy and i love spicy food - this was just not good food. we ordered a crackbaby shot and they couldnt make it so they said they would make us a lemoncello - not really craft behind the bar. all in all a totally poor experience - i do not recommend. total tourist trap.
Went for a birthday party.. they were well organised and the friendly staff made it pleasant. It was a set menu as we were a large party.. although each person chose their main. Food was delicious
Came for a birthday meal, experience was amazing. Perfect food, perfect service, will come back and highly recommend. Thank you Dhaval Kumar!
Lovely and attentive staff, I had a really yummy meal here a few weeks ago and enjoyed the lively but romantic ambience.
Came in here for some drinks on a bank holiday afternoon. There was a large variety of drinks on offer, however the staff were slightly unhelpful. We went to sit by the bar and they tried to make us sit outside when we didn t want too, then they encouraged us to sit in another area which you couldn t order drinks from. We then resorted back to the area we initially wanted to be seated. The staff once we ordered were friendly. Very nicely decorated venue for a more upmarket drinks afternoon. Kid-friendliness: Not child friendly Wheelchair accessibility: A disabled ramp to enter the building is available.
Words can not describe what a fine and luxurious evening that was spent at Leicester Square. Sophisticated decor and the Food was exquisite
Terrible, terrible service. The staff are all over you constantly. Got given the drinks menu and asked immediately what I wanted to drink with no time to choose. Painfully bad training of the staff. They dont know who ordered what, get right into your personal space when serving and make a right mess of the whole thing. Then got my bill wrong. Vegetarian options: Few and meagre. Not impressive.
Fantastic food, the flavours made a wow on my taste buds! Warm, attentive staff who were great and professional when there was a slight hiccup with an order. Myself and my family felt so welcomed, and in fact it was one of our highlights in London (we still talk about it). I highly recommended a visit.
Had a great pre-theatre menu here the other day. Nice mix of options on offer. Had the wings and sliders, my friend had a few salad options. The wings are truly spicy, at least the dipping sauce is! The sliders are a mix of beef and chorizo. Tasty. Nice setting on the terrace right by the TKTS booth. Wine list has some great values Cocktails looked good didn t try - next time!
Had a really lovely dinner at Leicester Square Kitchen. Service was great (the gentleman who took care of us was really nice I wish I got his name). Food was on point with every dish as well as cocktails. The Yuzu Pisco shouldn t be missed. Would defo come back, love the sharing style. Removed 1 star for atmosphere as we were sat next to a very large and loud bridal party. Not the restaurant s fault but did make it hard to chat with our table because of the noise level. Still an overall 5/5
Exceptionally good food and service to match, arrived just at the end of lunchtime service but we were warmly welcomed and accommodated and we were not disappointed! Food was excellent, freshly prepared, beautifully presented and absolutely full of flavour, clearly a passionate team running things here! The front of house team were very friendly, attentive and ensured that everything we needed was taken care of, thank you to both teams. Wouldn t hesitate to recommend this lovely venue, bonus was an outdoor table in the sunshine overlooking the bustling square. We will be back and will gladly spread the word too
Ridiculous
Food is amazing! The desserts are delicious so definitely recommend! I came here for my partners birthday and it was a lovely experience.
Stumbled upon this place accidentally as everyone else was closing their kitchen and it was getting quite late. Even with the suggestion to order quickly we were treated courteously and with care. The waiter helped point out the gluten free options, which had some good variety. We got a few small plates to share and the food was incredible. I was a particular fan of the crispy duck salad with pomegranate and the elote (grilled corn). The flavour and execution is spot on, highly recommend. Dietary restrictions: Request info from the waiters about gluten free options
Good cuisine with a fair balance of tastes and appropriate prices.
Excellent Peruvian and Mexican dishes. Very hot and spicy. Great service, very attentive and friendly but professional. Pleasantly decorated with good seating arrangement. The steak and crispy chicken were delicious.
Excellent quality if you like to share mexican/peruvian style dishes. Order a few of them and enjoy the feast. Its flavoursome, its colourful, and the cocktails make the entire dinner a brilliant experience!
Just wonderful. Food was amazing, drinks was fab. Top restaurant!!!!
Popped into the bar and was treated to amazing cocktails and even better service from the bar staff!! Great end to my evening :)
Excellent Service The staff was attentive, friendly, and provided efficient service throughout the dining experience.
Really good food and service
TLDR: Really good experience. Menu options were diverse and the food was good, but I expected richer tastes, although that could be because I had been looking forward to eating here since February when I tried their sister restaurant (Bloomsbury Kitchen). Staff were helpful but seemed overwhelmed with guests, so food came much later then expected. Plan for more time if you have more follow-up events for the night.
Went there to celebrate a joint birthday and very impressed. Was quite worried with how long it took for the starters to come out as wed been there almost an hour waiting however it was definitely worth wait and the claamri was amazing. Service was also beautiful and would love to come again.
Superb menu comprising of Mexican and Peruvian. Every dish is a tapas for sharing. We had Taco rib, duck salad, cheese fondue and beef sliders. Also try the signature negronis.
Terrible experience overall..I found a piece of plastic in my food and still had to pay for everything while they do an investigation Maybe they thought I was trying to pull a fast one.. Either way I Still havent had any contact regarding this.. Could have easily taken that one dish off the bill and left it as that.. Definitely wont be dining there again
I loved all the food, I am a spicy lover Plus the atmosphere inside, the toilets are spectacular and you dont often find things like that these days
Nice space in the centre of Leicester Square, tasty food but slow service
Booked a very large table for 17 on my wife s birthday, they couldn t have done more to accommodate and make us feel welcome. Food was great, cocktails were amazing (pisco sours were really on point) and one very happy birthday girl! Food
We return here time after time for the incredible food (Mexican & Peruvian small plates), luxurious surroundings, and fabulous service. A great example was the helpfulness of Dhaval who was simply amazing on the day. We hadnt pre-booked and the restaurant was full at 5 pm. She arranged for us to have drinks at a reserved table in the Lounge and to be collected when our table was ready later in the evening. Dhaval wasnt present in the evening, and Simona (Food and Beverage Manager) made sure we were looked after throughout. Incredible service. All arranged by Dhaval. We had several small plates with fine wine to match. All the staff throughout the evening (Sat 19 Aug) were completely amazing. A huge thank you for making our meal so special. They even arranged a Birthday Macaroon on a beautiful plate. Well be back soon. The Hampshire is always a special destination. Brian Hill
Vegetarian options: Great Food
The breakfast is very good, lots of choice: eggs, sausages, cheese, salmon, croissants, yogurt, fruit, ... Special mention to the high quality service, especially by our wonderful waitress Awa.
Absolutely delicious food and friendly and attentive service. The lady who served us asked about dietary needs and I mentioned that I m pregnant, she immediately helped me work out what I could and couldn t have on the menu, so I was really impressed with her knowledge. Would recommend. We were very pleasantly surprised for this location we thought it might be a tourist trap but it had a lovely vibe and great food. Only downside is portions are small and fairly expensive. I think the price is to be expected in the location but the taco dishes are minute so could do with improving on that. Had a lovely and very delicious lunch over all though!
Service was 11/10 and so was the food. Our waiter made us feel so welcome too !!
Very good food but pricey. Prepare to spend £50 per person to eat enough to not be hungry in 2 hours.
Everything is perfect. Nishil especially is making a great job as a waiter. Food
Absolutely delicious!! Especially the Sebaste ceviche, lamb chops and asparagus. Fast service (a little too much for us), We will definitely come back there during our next stay in London.
Great food! Spicy and tasty.
Great variety of food all tasted amazing. Staff were very attentive and friendly. We ordered a lot of food, but it all came out in a timely manner. The staff spot on with their recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed. Cant fault the experience at all.
We had a wonderful breakfast here. There is a great variety of food that is well prepared and the service was excellent. Our server Sonia was very attentive and friendly! We will go back very soon.
Peruvian food here is not great
We often dine at the Leicester Square Kitchen and definitely on special occasions. The food is superb. My granddaughter LOVES the sliders and demands to go to this restaurant for her birthday every year. The service is excellent. Lovely Natalia took care of us the other day. She was friendly, attentive and very professional. We certainly appreciated her lovely smile and impecable manners.
I have been here many times. Excellent food, wine and service
Great food and friendly service
Smallest portions I have ever seen! We got the pre-theatre menu, we left the place hungry and with empty pockets. Very disappointing!
Was lovely restaurant after magic mike show. They had a set menu as we were 10 people. Food and service were both good.
Absolutely amazing experience, stunning food and top class service.
Very Vegetarian options: Food was excellent. Tomato Ceviche and the risotto were out of this world. Drinks and deserts were also very well made. Food : 5/5 |
Second visit here and was not disappointed. My first visit was amazing and my second even better. The food is exceptional. The freshness and quality is amazing. Every dish was a real flavour bomb. A must go to in London!
Foods is good tasty Food
We had a truly disappointing meal at Leicester Square Kitchen. After emailing in advance and being told that they were able to cater for coeliacs/gluten allergy; when seated in the restaurant we were told that they weren t able to guarantee no cross contamination. I understand this is usual, however when pressed for more information as to whether they took precautions, (e.g different knives, chopping boards, cleaning the grill) they said no they weren t able to do that. We were then left in a difficult situation as a group of 5 on a Saturday night with nowhere else booked. We asked once again if they could speak to the chef and they returned informing us they could do a few plain dishes on the menu including chicken skewers and asparagus. After appreciatively ordering those, they arrived as 3 completely plain grilled chicken skewers and 5 pieces of boiled asparagus (together costing almost £25). I understand some restaurants cannot cater for coeliacs and that is ok, however we had been told with confidence that they could. We had no previous problems with Monmouth or Mayfair kitchen so if you have allergies you will feel safer there!
We came with my boyfriend, we loved it! Very good Mexican/Peruvian restaurant, with different flavors for all tastes and above all good products. You have to like spicy food. The service was very pleasant, thanks to the warm and smiling welcome from Elena who was responsive throughout the service.
Fantastic! Modern, well-kept place and excellent food! Well be back! A special mention for Jannat who was very attentive and kind to us and our little girl
Really nicely laid out restaurant. Very cold bar area (not sure why the doors were open) but the restaurant was comfortable. Service was good although the head host was a bit standoffish with us when asking when our table would be ready. Highly recommend the short rib tacos - delicious!!
Sharing plates. Dinner was good but portions were a bit small. All the dishes were unexpectedly extremely spicy. The service however was really bad. Mango in the con lèche was raw but the dessert was still decent. We had the lychee martini and the spicy yuzu pisco sour which were both good
Great vibe. Staff excellent. Food really fresh..and delicious. Would deffo recommend and I would deffo go back. Went in chrissy night out with 3 girlfriends and had a lovely time.
It was amazing, unfortunately the fire alarm went off towards the end of dinner and then didn t stop. But I don t think that s any fault of the peeps working there.
The food was of very good quality, but unfortunately all the dishes were too spicy. Yes, it is Central/South American cuisine, but unfortunately the enjoyment of the dishes suffered. The dishes lack contrast to the spiciness, perhaps we can work on that.
Very good restaurant, classy atmosphere. Very pleasant service Excellent meat I recommend
This is a beautiful bar and restaurant in Leicester Square. The Mexican and Peruvian small plates are outstanding. You must try the wagyu and chorizo sliders and the avocado salad. Service was impeccable. We went on a Tuesday so they only have the bar menu available. The full menu is available later in the week and at weekends.
Fabulously little lounge area for pre theatre cocktails. We found the menu rather limited so wont be eating there but will definitely return for cocktails.
Their small plates on the menu are really good and the service
Food delicious with otherwise great service bar being made to feel cheap for going for the pre-theatre set menu!
This was amazing loved the food, the service and drinks were fab great atmosphere
I love this bar. It s a calm, sophisticated respite from the trashy, classless lunacy of Leicester Square and the West End. I come here when I have time to kill before a show. It s always lovely. The cocktails are great. The last few times, I ve been helped by Askim who is an absolute joy.
Food was served super hot. We burned ourselves a couple of times. Tommys Margarita is an awesome cocktail but food overall was average. There are no good vegetarean options either.
Ok
Would highly recommend this restaurant. We ate there last weekend and the service was second to none. I had explained that I have an intolerance to lactose and the staff were extremely knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients, checking with me every time they delivered food to the table. I had a delicious dairy free dessert alternative too. The food is a mix of Mexican and Peruvian. It was spicy but very authentic. The sea bass cerviche and nachos and guacamole were highlights along with the dessert. They have an extensive drinks and wine menu also. While it is situated in a busy, touristy area of the city, it appeared to be full of mainly local patrons which I always take to be a good sign. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely be paying another visit.
Really enjoyed the small plates, especially the spiciness of the food. Great service.
Askim and Elena was excellent this morning
Myself and my Partner have been to Leicester Square Kitchen multiple times and couldnt wait to go again. They have only just reopened the restaurant for 4 days a week after a year of being closed because of the pandemic. The menu has been revamped, so Natalia, our Waitress was able to offer great advice on the new dishes, having sampled them during tasting earlier in the week. All the staff are always so polite and accomodating. The place is always clean and the toilets topped up with the most devine handwash, moisturiser and fresh towels. It was a lovely way to end our evening after our Theatre trip earlier in the day, so thank you very much. See you again soon!
Nice restaurant with different food. Modernist look with pleasant deco and good atmosphere. The calamari as starter was good but not exceptional. The main smoked paprika ribs with mezcal glaze on the other hand was really good, the meat coming off the bone almost just by looking at it and the glaze was great. However it came without any side so i ordered the cilantro lime rice, quite potent but it went quite well with the ribs. The taco xocolatl as a dessert had a nice touch with the orange agave salsa. All in all, the food is good but not exceptional, although for the area is reasonably priced. Staff are polite and professional but dont engage much, and in my opinion even other Kitchen restaurants are better in food, atmosphere and service.
Restaurant in the heart of Leicester Square with excellent Mexican and Peruvian cuisine. The dishes have incredible flavor and especially the desserts are original and very elaborate. The waiters are attentive and give good advice. For a spicy and tasty evening I recommend this address!
Serious finger burn recieved from hot plate handle. Lady who seated us was quite rude, initially trying to seat us at poor table when no one else there (and we booked). Small menu, and everything was too spicy, so had to go somewhere else after for my son. Final insult was 12.5% service charge they added on a very (very) expensive bill.
Excellent food, not huge servings but well preseted and great service.
Mexican and Peruvian menu with plenty of choices for vegetarians too
Spicy Tapas style Mex and Peruvian dishes. Absolutely delicious food and drinks! Lots of great options for vegetarians.
Really enjoyed the mix of Mexican and Peruvian food in style of tapas. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
Every dish was amazing - the beef skewers and ribs were exceptional! Astle, who was our server, was very attentive and really catered to my friend s lactose intolerance. 10/10 would recommend and definitely would come back in the future.
A Mexican restaurant on Leicester Square called Leicester Square kitchen, I couldnt be more sceptical about this place, sounds like a tourist trap. However, I was proved totally wrong. The food was incredible. I actually went vegan (to share with someone, not because it was my diet), and it was as good as the meat options. Everything was tasty, and most things were actually spicy! The only downside is that the decor was pretty generic and soulless.
The ambience is really nice. The design is clean and sleek - we really liked it! The food was very good, although I wouldnt call what they have on the menu tacos (they were the size of small canapés) so that was a tad disappointing but they tasted amazing. We also had chicken wings (the habanero sauce was amazing!), calamari and wagyu and chorizo sliders. The sliders werent as good as the rest of the food but thats just down to taste. We also sampled some cocktails and the negroni was one of the best Ive ever had. What really made me give 3 stars is overly attentive service. I know it sounds weird but we really didnt need to be told 5 times that what we ordered is spicy especially when we said many times we are good with spice. We were being asked while eating as well, I think once would have been enough. Also minor but the water was topped up too often - we havent even finished half the glass! Perhaps leaving the water jugs on customers table would be a wiser choice? Lastly, it took 20 minutes to take my payment as multiple card readers were either not charged or had no connection.
Nice place, clean and modern feel. Our server was very attentive! We got the paprika spiced nachos, the chili mayo tacos, and the cilantro rice. All were very good, and what the tacos lacked in size they made up for in fantastic flavor.
I quite enjoyed every dishes that Ice tried except mini burgers - too spicy.
Very nice place located in the less busy part of the main square of Leicester Square, perhaps also for this reason we easily found a seat on a very crowded Friday evening. The place is very well looked after, from the furnishings to the staff it is all very elegant, but it also has a decidedly pleasant informal tone. The service is impeccable, from pouring the water to explaining the menu to recommending dessert, truly perfect. With great amazement, the food was the best part, we tried small tapas as starters and as main courses a beef fillet on a hot stone and ribs with sweet and sour sauce, everything incredible, from the quality of the meat to the flavor of the sauces, really excellent . We also recommend the desserts that offer particular combinations, in our case tacos with dark and spicy chocolate, excellent. Prices are in line with central London, but considering the quality and experience in general I consider the value for money very good, especially if you consider that just a few steps away there are very long queues to access the classic fast food restaurants. If you are in these areas and want to have a quiet dinner, it is a very valid choice.
Surprisingly great Mexican restaurant especially considering the location! Leicester Square in general pretty notorious for subpar food at high prices, but Leicester Square Kitchen worth a visit. Portions are slightly small but flavours have more than enough kick (definitely one of the punchier ones in London, which is great!) Service was also excellent. Dhaval and Elena were on point all night and made our experience very pleasant - super attentive and patient all night. Would recommend and come back for sure.
Really nice place. Professional quick and caring staff, food is also served quickly, ideally to visit before theater or other events to have a drink with delicious starters
It wasnt even open. Yet the opening times have just been confirmed by the business 1-2 weeks ago. I wanted my birthday meal here and it wasnt even open.
Great food, especially mushroom risotto. The service is extremely good, creating 5* feel to the experience.
Fantastic food, amazing staff and as a vegetarian - we must recommend the tacos and the mushroom risotto! We were served by Alston Valmin and he was the most charming host. Highly recommend!
This is a really nice Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere is decent, everything is sparkling. You can see the open kitchen. Everything we ate was delicious. I especially recommend the soft-tacos. Portions are a bit small, but the flavors make up for the gap. Service was also excellent. Alston made our experience very enjoyable - super attentive and patient all night. I recommend with pleasure.
I had a business breakfast meeting here. Excellent and charming service by Sonia. Good breakfast though a little pricey.
Fantastic restaurant with amazing service and great food taste. The Peruvian and Mexican combination of dish were Absolutely divine! You can tell the combination of photo displayed here. Absolutely adore the steak sirloin. Absolutely recommend others to come here.
Amazing restaurant! Such a special experience, and exceptional dishes. We enjoyed it a lot. Also a great service.
Falsely advertised as late night eating and this was not the case. Very rushed sat down and rushed to order then rushed to eat.
Wonderful restaurant!! One of my favorites))
Shatters the mis-illusions of Leicester Square restaurants! Attentive service, fantastic food and great atmosphere. Added to go agin list!
I have to say this place is one of my favourites. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The food. Great concept of sharing plates. Yes some of it is spicy but in a good way Our waiter was Vincenzo. Great sense of humour, helpfully attentive This place is a must try. Thank you
Greetings from Georgia! What a lovely breakfast. Thank you Sonia for making us feel right at home. You took such good care of us every day. With affection and gratitude!
Incredible food and professional staff inside a lovely restaurant
Fantastic Menu. Fantastic Food. Fantastic service. Thank you Dhaval!
Absolutely incredible food and amazing value. Great friendly and prompt service too. Highly recommend Vegetarian options: Excellent choice of vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: Great choice of gluten free options
Mexican and Peruvian cuisine, Each dish is indulgent and pleasantly surprising despite the small portions. Excellent service, good atmosphere along with delicious food make this place unique. Recommended!!!
Really great food and wine! Menu was a little smaller than the last time I visited but everything on it was delicious! Service was a bit lack luster, we ordered a carafe and instead of leaving it on the table to pour ourselves they took it away so they can top it up for us. This would be great if they didnt wait for both our glasses to be empty. I drink more wine than my partner and I had to wait for him to finish his before my glass was topped up. The food however was amazing and I would definitely recommend this place!
Food excellent Way too noisy Food
We were really looking forward to a dinner here. We went there in 2020 and we loved the food. So we decided to go again this year as a nice treat. What a mistake - extremely spicy food, you couldnt even taste the food. Duck salad dry with some leaves. And if you dare asking for gluten free versions of food- they are literally tasteless. Food quality does not justify the price, probably they changed chef and they have comprised on food quality and play by the tourist location. Awful, both me and my partner have been so spiced!! And we had to send back cheviche tomatoes because they were tasteless. The staff was so annoyed they didnt even say bye when we left lol. We could not pay £8 for tasteless tomatoes, sorry! Never again! Do not recommend. Also no Christmas atmosphere. The lady next to us was complaining about how spicy the food was and had given some yogurt sauce so she can eat. Skip this one!!!!
