Riverside East (Stratford) in London

I ve always enjoyed coming here on a match day but today I made my first visit on a non match day to retrieve my girlfriend s purse which she d lost after the game yesterday. Nick the manager had not only kept the purse safe for us in the office but he and the staff treated me like a paying customer on returning. I look forward to coming back again on a non match day to try the roasts as they looked incredible!

We had a fantastic time at Riverside East, which serves the best Sunday roast in East London! Our meal started with a lovely appetiser, and we enjoyed some delicious drinks alongside the roast. Excellent food quality, and Nick, the restaurant manager, was attentive and provided five-star service. I highly recommend this place for a beautiful Sunday!

Yesterday, I went to RE after work with my colleagues and had the best time! The atmosphere, decor, food, and drinks were all fantastic. I loved having options for mocktails and vegetarian dishes. The beetroot salad was especially amazing. Definitely coming back!

Hello, My friend and I visited hoping to get a Sunday roast. However, they were sold out, which is fine and understandable. For some reason, people were still being served roasts even half an hour after we were told they are sold out. We then decided to stay for brunch as we were hungry. Ordered two hot chocolates, instead of it being called hot chocolate it should be called cold chocolate water. It wasn t even close to being warm. Extremely disappointing. If that wasn t enough, we both ordered pancakes however they took 20+ mins to come for three tiny pancakes on a plate. When they did come, it was the wrong plate and we had to wait another 10 minutes for the right plate. They also completely forgot our chips and only after we asked for the second time did they bring the chips. Even the bill took 10+ minutes to come. I had asked for a takeaway box for my chips, but that was once again forgotten and at this point we just wanted to leave since it was such a horrible experience. The food was disappointing, cold, and flavorless. The service was even worse. The server who served us got our orders wrong and was extremely unpleasant to us the entire time and made faces at us. We were really looking forward to a good Sunday between friends, however, they spoiled our whole day. Extremely disappointing visit. If I could rate the service less than one star I would. We have never felt this unwelcome at a restaurant before. For two paying customers, you could ve done a lot better in making them feel like regular human beings instead of treating us like trash. Hope this feedback helps you improve.

Amazing meal at Duvale s at Riverside East. Everything was perfect. The food was outstanding, highly recommend the croquettes, Hake (a creative take on fish and chips with curry sauce- trust me) and the Bread and Butter pudding. 10/10 service too. Overall fantastic meal.

I came in for breakfast recently while on a trip to London and I had the most wonderful time! The veggie fry up was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. My friend is intolerant to gluten and she also really enjoyed her experience and complimented the food. Another thing that really added to our experience was the staff! They were all a pleasure but the guy with the dark hair and moustache with the Irish accent was so friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed chatting to him and he was very efficient. The decor and furniture in the restaurant is also very nice, I loved the colours with the wood. Unfortunately I had broken my phone that morning so I never got a chance to take pictures but if Im ever passing through again I will definitely be back! Couldnt recommend it enough!

I was so impressed by the food in this place and the service was really lovely. We came in for a brunch but ended up eating a Sunday Roast and, oh my word! It was SO good! Unexpectedly so, because the place looks very much like a cafe and I wouldn t have probably ordered a Sunday Roast hadn t I seen it from another table before. Our waitress was also incredibly lovely. I hope this place gets lots of business as they surely deserve it. I for sure will come back!

I did go back from when it first opened and it has got a bit better than when it first opened to be fair. Still pretty expensive for what you get but the service is okay and the inside and outside space is nice. But if it s during the week and during the day go the cafes in the UAL and UCL instead - just as nice and much cheaper

We had a lovely evening at Duvale s the new residency within Riverside East. Food was amazing and well presented. Loved the curried Hake! Service great with friendly and knowledgeable staff. All in all a great experience!

My partner and I went to the opening of Duvales last week and the food was exceptional. Relaxed atmosphere with fine dining plates. The food was delicious, I m still dreaming of the croquettes and hake. Really enjoyed the whole experience. We will definitely be coming back soon.

Amazing location in terms of views underneath the tower in the Olympic park. Went for a music night pre-carnival. Great music and very spacious Be warned though if driving prepare for a long walk to the venue itself

Huge outdoor seating space and lots of tables indoors too. For a Sat night we were surprised it wasnt that busy as would be ideal for big groups. Superb customer service and really tasty wings and pizza. Dog friendly. Great beers. We also came for breakfast a few weeks ago and that was fantastic too. Will definitely be coming back.

Unfortunately did not have a good experience here. Went to watch an event screening and they had a DJ playing until about 15 mins after it started, then had issues switching the sound over so didnt have any sound for first 40 mins. Eventually sound was put on, but through a separate online stream on a laptop, so it was very out of sync with the screen. Ended up having to go elsewhere to watch the rest.

Staff friendly, but outside they only serve beer in paper cups, which tastes horrid (and you can t see how much foam there is). Can get a glass from inside bar, but this closed shortly after 8pm on a Friday Can t recommend.

A place where I can live, laugh and love

This is the best new place to open up in the area. It is a gorgeous place to sit and relax, in easy reach of the beautiful local parks, and the food and service was outstanding. Amazing proper coffee, and lovely pastries from local artisan bakeries. Main courses looked and tasted incredible. The team were wonderful and clearly nothing was too much trouble - looked after us, our friends and the kids brilliantly. 10/10 all round. We will be back!

I ve popped in a couple of times since it s been open, mainly for the delicious coffee and it s not too busy in the early mornings on weekdays but they have a really good vegan burger on the menu too! It s a really cool place and I can t wait to go back and have some cold pints on that lovely roof terrace in the sun! Vegetarian options: They have a really decent vegan burger served with good chips

Shambles is the only word for this restaurant. We booked a table an hour and a half before going to Monster Jam, the person I approached looked surprised by this on asking (as if he didn t know that was possible) and just said no probs sit anywhere. No welcome, no explanation on how to go about ordering. We ended up ordering by QR code on the table - which didn t work initially - for three of us because we could see it was getting busy and then waited, waited and waited. 50 minutes later my husband approached the manager at the bar area whose reply was well that s the first I ve heard of it ?!! Given they had approximately five tables filled only at the time, this was both taken as both rude and incredibly short sighted. The food then arrived and it really wasn t anything special/worth the wait. My son s scrambled eggs on sourdough was small and he was disappointed. My veggie breakfast wasn t bad but I just would have felt so much better about it had I not been gobbling it down to get to our show on time. We won t be going back.

We were excited to visit the new café in our neighbourhood over the weekend. Its a great spot for hanging out with friends and family over drinks or light bites, with a welcoming atmosphere. However, I have some feedback regarding the kids menu. I ordered sausage sandwiches for my children, but unfortunately, they were far too salty especially for kids. I only realised this when I tasted their leftovers at home. Additionally, the sandwiches lacked any accompanying vegetables. Adding a few cucumber or carrot sticks on the side would have been a nice touch. On a positive note, my fish finger goujons were lovely, and my nephew enjoyed his chicken burger. Despite these positives, I wont be in a rush to visit the café for dining in until the kids menu is improved. As the area is mostly family-oriented, I hope they work on their kids menus. However, I look forward to trying their pop-up food stalls next time.

Staggeringly expensive : 2 fried eggs on toast, one small bacon roll, small capacino and a lemonade - £19.90! Lots of potential given location and size, but, along with price v value, if the numerous staff and manager focus on plans for later and not on the customers they have in cafe they will continue to get reviews like this

Arrived, ordered food and drinks for three at till. 5 min later one drink arrived. Left in 10 min then asked where the other two drinks were. Told they were enroute. About 10 minutes later the side dish of salad arrived. But not the main meals. Still no drinks. Complained again, and drinks came. 35 min later still no food. So we requested a refund. They kindly charged us for the 1 salad and drinks. Really poor experience.

They oversold tickets to the events and don t let people in. Quite disappointing particularly if you make plans to attend after getting the tickets (despite them being free). Poor form.

Had a terrible experience at Riverside East for the Euro s final. To start with, the manager/event organiser gave away our two tables as they were disorganised and mixed up emails. We accepted this, even though it was very frustrating as we d travelled from the other side of london. We accepted the table situation, as the manager (Casper) offered us a discount on drinks and a free round for our group when they arrived. The DJ was really good, a nice atmosphere to start with so we were happy to stay. 3 of us had arrived and we were waiting for our other friends. We were reassured on multiple occasions that we d have no issue getting our friends into the venue. As we got closer to kick off, it became apparent that the venue had oversold tickets. The manager said they were 200 people over capacity (1.5 hours before kick off). There were some very angry people as they d bought tickets and weren t being let in (understandable). At this point our friends arrived and the manager refused to let them into the venue, despite all of the prior disappointment they had given us already. The manager was clearly stressed, he was rude and dismissive and offered no sincere apology. My group of friends chose to leave the venue as our experience was absolutely horrendous.

Really poor management and organisation for the Euros final. The screen was far too small and low down for people to see resulting in people having to stand on tables to watch the game. Multiple screens are needed for a crowd as big as it was. Ticket system is broken as apparently they oversold. They didn t accept screenshots and wouldn t let people in unless they had the app. Completely understaffed resulting in people breaking down the barriers to get into the venue. They had to call the police as a result of their lack of security and preparation. Overall quite a toxic atmosphere. Food was average.

Fantastic place! As someone who suffers from very severe allergies I m always worried when I go out to eat, but one of the managers made sure the kitchen was well aware and everything was fabulous! Can t thank them enough and looking forward to making it a regular spot for sinking pints

Nice new place for locals in Stratford. Good place when the weather is nice as you can go sit on the rooftop with a drink & have a beautiful or sit outside in their food market vibe outside area in the sun. They have a big screen outside for screenings of various things like the football etc. When the weather is not so nice you can sit inside and have some nice drinks and food. Well thought out and put together place. Its obvious that the owners have put a lot of money in. There are a wide range of beers. Had food from Flats, a flat bread place ( basically a small pizza for £12), flavour was good though. Good music and sound system. Now what lets it down. Seems badly run due to the staff culture or the staff are hungover. Bins overflowing but 5 member of staff not doing anything behind the bar just chatting. Was there for an hour and didnt see any staff even get close to cracking a smile. I ordered 2 ice cream and two drinks at the bar, zero eye contact from the yawning cashier. The potential to be great just let down by staff. If I was the owner I would be incredibly frustated.

Went for lunch during opening week (Friday 24th May). Food was discounted 50%. You can order via the QR code on the outside tables for both food and drinks. Or you can go inside and order drinks direct from the bar. Service was really friendly from the bar staff to the waiting staff. The food arrived pretty quickly (10 minutes?), though we had to shout to our waiter as he couldnt find our table (which was weired becasue you tell them the table number when you order using the QR code). We had the chicken burger and fries, and trout with Jersey Royal potatoes, both really good, hot, fresh and tasty. The spicy red peppery sauce on the chicken burger is particularly good. The bar was fairly quick, and had good quality, fresh Signature and Gypsy Hill pale ales and lagers on tap and in cans. Only two complaints/comments the QR code menu isnt very helpful. For example, the trout dish is listed as Trout. Thats all it says! When in fact it comes with potatoes, pickled cucumbers and a creamy sauce. The chicken burger doesnt mention that it comes with fries, so I ordered some, but then I ended up with two portions of fries. The full menu is on the Riverside East website, but it seems weird not to have it where youre actually ordering the food. Lovely spot on picnic tables outside in the sun, under the Orbit. Inside looks nice too, with big windows all around.

Didnt have food, just popped in for a few drinks with mates and was pleasantly surprised. Great range of beers, friendly staff and the food did look amazing so will definitely be going back. Could very easily become my regular local!

Had a lovely time at Riverside East with my family. Great food, a chilled atmosphere and beautiful location. I d recommend the dippy eggs! Kid-friendliness: We took our 10 month old daughter - highchairs and a nice and simple menu for kids.

Went to the cafe for lunch, had a Chicken Caesar salad, it was lovely with a great poached egg on top. Great coffee, friendly and attentive service. Nice place to work from in the afternoon.

Great new addition to Olympic park. A tad small compared to similar spaces like Rooftop East and Pop Brixton, but perfect for all groups. Friendly staff and truffle burgers!!! what s not to love!! Nice place and then you get to the bar. One person on each tap to serve a horde of football fans. Friend queued for a burger paid for it then told theyd sold out, but they still let people queue up. Had reserved tables and all of a sudden barriers came down and it was a stampede. We did see Scott Minto though.

Absolutely awful. Having booked standing for the England game, it was a complete waste of time. It was completely ticketless, taking almost 1 hour to get a drink. The self serve machine served 1 quarter of froth. The queue lines were completely mismanaged too. The ownership should be completely embarrassed, based on the terrible experienced provided. Any reply to this comment needs to e honest, you promoted a venue beyond what was given, and need to accept you completely screwed up. If you cant deliver, then be honest, youve failed customers this evening. No further comments needed l....

Amazing place it s the place to be!

What a great meal! We came in a few evenings ago and had a couple of flat breads to share and some delicious fried chicken. The confit garlic and Parmesan flatbread is a must. Nice vibe too. Stayed for some drinks outside and soaked up the sunshine.

Came to watch the football and we all loved the venue and staff. It did get super busy at one point largely due to the Foo Fighters concert so we did wait longer for the 3rd round of drinks. After the game had finished it was great to see the mangers (one was called Nick I think) personally speaking to all the guests who waited long for their drinks. This could become one of the main places for sports and we will all be going back.
