Located just steps away from Sanderson’s iconic lobby and just off the legendary Long Bar. The Restaurant at Sanderson blends visionary design with an exceptional seasonal menu and artisanal cocktails from the Long Bar. Staying true to the Sicilian style of cooking, our Executive Chef Daniele Zaffora and his team have curated simple yet delicious dishes using combination of fresh, high-quality and locally sourced ingredients that are subtly seasoned and spiced. This is the perfect place to get together with your friends, family and loved one's and satisfy your hunger the Italian way.
We waited for ages and no one came to serve us. We only were shown a table and were told that someone would come to us soon. That never happened. The place didn’t seem busy at all. No one apologized for the wait. We just left.
I had previous been to the Sanderson for dinner before covid and stopped by to have another great experience. Walking through the door, it was noticeable that the management had changed. There was a lot of staff around but lack the customer service to acknowledge customers. I walked in and had to stand around waiting to be acknowledged by any staff. After being taken to a table, we ordered food and drinks. The food was ok but the experience afterwards soured the whole experience. After finishing our food, we waited close to 15 minutes for someone to clear our table. I finally got the attention of the waiting staff, asked for the plates to be cleared, and asked for water and the bill. I repeated this request three times, and the staff walked away without removing the plates. Then someone returned with the bill. I then pointed out I asked for the plates to be removed, asked for water and then the bill. Took another member of staff to action this. This honesty felt like faulty towers. Due to this experience, I asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill. First time I had ever done this. This restaurant has all the trappings to be brilliant but the staff need more training on etiquette and customer service.
I loved everything about Sanderson restaurant. Staring with very nice welcoming, letting us choose the table, making sure we are comfortable & introducing the menu . It exceeded my expectations. The service was very attentive. Waly did his best to help me choose exactly what I like. The other waiter was also professional. We loved all : starters, mains & dessert. I had nicoise salad ( green beans, soft boiled egg, confit tuna, kalamata, san marzano, pink fir ) as a starter & it great! As main I had Label anglais half chicken, watercress & tomato provencal with sauce & sides . It was yummy 😋 I had creme caramel & my partner had cheese with crackers & we both liked all. We had a great experience & would love to return again.
Amazing cocktails. Lovely food in great surroundings. We opted to share a sweet desert crème caramel and a cheese selection and asked for an additional cracker and were told ‘that was the portion you get’. A little disappointing on a lovely evening.
Located in the Sanderson hotel. The exterior is circa 1960-, the interior has been modernised but the initial impression is a very odd concierge area followed by a bar then to the dining area. Seating was adequately spaced out. Service was attentive. Food was below average unfortunately, some dishes looked like they could have come out of a Tesco pack. Garlic oil in the tzatziki was too strong on garlic and breath stank of garlic after. Baba ganoid was terrible, it looked like mushroom pate/ mash or tuna rather than aubergine and had an overpowering taste of cumin and garlic. Houmous was good. The three Radishes was a good touch. The burrata was very mild , salad was ok. Bit as a combination a very underwhelming dish. Smoked Salmon was warm, quinoa cold would have been a good dish if the temperature was better equilibrated between the cold quinoa and the warm smoked salmon. Nice vinaigrette for the salad . Quail’s egg, two halfs was half boiled, not runny and tiny. Pecans nuts was a nice touch but would have been better if it was roasted. Beef Bavette which is also know as a flank steak was a chewy and gamey, a small portion - thankfully as my jaw muscles hurt from trying to chew, I was glad of its small portion. Chips which accompanied the steak was good. Bernnaise sauce was good . Service was generally good and attentive.
Excellent food and service. Surprised this place wasn’t busier on a Thursday night. Excellent set menu and prices
I love this place! It’s vibrant, young, artistic and classic! I know, it’s a lot but all true. The space have very classy furniture and the lighting is charming in the lobby and the bar. The food is amazing too, the slow cooked beef was spot on and tasty. The chips were very good too. The chocolate gateau was amazing, with cream in between the buns. Delicious. The only thing I dislike is the white light in a small part of the dinning space. It makes you look terrible, like you’re in a hospital with pale white skin.
Mad Hatters tea was a great experience. Lovely courtyard setting with Flamingos and water features. Very busy so booking is essential. Great for groups or couples. Fabulous good, great selection of savoury bites and sandwiches and cakes were to die for. The tea selection is based on character's from Alice in wonderland and were superb. One of my favourite afternoon tea's in London!
Chipego was amazing!
We waited a long time and no waiter showed up even tho they saw us.
We waited for too long and no one came to serve us.
Terrible black angus hamburger, meat way overcooked, we dont even ask for the level of cooking the customer wants. We were paid during the meal because it was Sunday evening and he was closing the register. We were disturbed another time at the end of the meal, a security agent came to see us to ask for our room and tell us that if we were not in their hotel, that we would have to leave in 40 minutes . Anything. So, extremely expensive: 140 for two for 2 cocktails, an overly salty soup for two, overcooked hamburger and tasteless risotto. And youre almost kicked out for the entire meal. They have reservation problems because normally a reservation was possible until 11:30 p.m., house quickly kicked us out having reserved at 9:30 p.m. To avoid, seriously.
Very good
Absolute disgrace, The food is mediocre. The portions are so disappointing and lacked flavour. I ordered the Grilled Octopus and would not recommend. It s a shame because the hotel is really nice, Food
Flávio took great care of us.
Flavio took care of us and everything was perfect.
The service is extremely poor! ! !
ASK for Sanyogita - her breakfast Service is Great
Flavio he is so much helpful and kind
Very good service from Sanyogita. She takes care of having a perfect breakfast experience.
Sanyo Gita was very kind and attentive during breakfast service. Lightening up our day
Amazing stay, really nice friendly staff who were so accommodating especially Melody in the restaurant she is so amazing, made us feel all welcome and very attentive especially by making sure my children were happy, highly recommend Kid-friendliness: Great
Had a superb business lunch at Sanderson this week. I ve not been here for many years , the team are lovely and food is superb. My rib eye was cooked to perfection.
We had a spontaneous lunch at The Restaurant at The Sanderson Hotel and were welcomed and looked after by José who was soo lovely. He went above and beyond with his service and and assistance and made sure we had the perfect lunch date. He made our spontaneous that little more memorable and left us with a warm smile. He is a gem to the business
Lovely food, but why is the music so loud?
Truly shocked at the quality of food served to us yesterday. I ended up sending both courses back. Ordered the Calamari tempura which tasted like I was eating rubber. For the main course I had ordered the braised short rib of beef. I was expecting tender fall apart meat drenched in a red wine sauce. Instead we got served meat that was impossible to cut with a knife and fork. Truly appalling food served at what they call a 5 star established. 24hours later and I still can t get over my shock!
Food is good. Excellent atmosphere and service.
Great meal and terrific service from Antonella.
Yea was amazing! And the service outstanding! Andrew was very attentive. Unfortunately, the food was not to our liking though the scones and some of the sweets were great! Dietary restrictions: They were somewhat accommodating to a mayonnaise allergy during afternoon tea.
Food was great and the service from our waiter Lay was 5-star! He made our afternoon!
The breakfast, lunch and diner is just simply amazing. The dry aged rib-eye and angus burger are a must try. The ambience is really chill/laid back but chique. Wiem has been very kind and was very helpful!
Delicious lunch on the Terrace, made special by our helpful friendly waitress Antonella nothing was too much trouble. We ll be back.
Excellent English breakfast. Darcy is a fantastic server. Thank you!
We enjoyed our 3rd stay a lot. We had breakfast every morning in the Restaurant and especially Sanyog Ita made our Restaurant experience very special. She was always kind, friendly and attentive. It was a pleasure to meet her.
Sanyogita is an amazing waitress - such good service and energy !

Had the MOST wonderful time at the Sanderson and especially breakfast at the restaurant - it s top notch! Specifically we had the pleasure of meeting Sanyogita, our spectacular server who went above and beyond and just made the whole London experience perfection! Thank you!!

Ive been in the restaurant with my partner last Monday. At the beginning everything was going well, we ordered a bottle of wine and accidentally the waiter broke the cork, he went to the bar to ask for help, and he came back with the same bottle but unfortunately when he served it was some cork inside the bottle so we asked if he could change it. our surprise was when we seen the bartender taking a bottle already opened, straining the wine that we send back and refilling it.. as we saw this we asked to the waiter for a new bottle He changed without problem but the bartender seem really upset about it. when the food came it was a bit cold but we didn t complain at we thought it was already to much, for our surprise when the steak that we ordered came, it wasn t cooked at the point we asked but again we just ate it, two bites because at the third we noticed a weird flavour, as if it was off we just asked for the bill and went out. We really do not recommend it at all!!
I love the restaurant and bar normally on a Friday its very busy tonight it was quite empty .
Sofia was the best, amazing and really really nice
This place is absolutely amazing. The sanderson itself is worth a trip to London. The staff is super nice and the food delicious. But the icing on the cake is the beautiful decor and the little garden they have. If you have time, give this a visit definitely!!
This is my 4th time here and the staff are lovely! Breakfast buffet has plenty options to everyone s tastes and they are happy to accommodate for special wishes as well! See you soon !
Went there few times, courtyard garden with Flamingos and waters features is beautiful, the best fried calamari ever, would go back again & again just for that treat :)
Melody was absolutely brilliant and gave us the best birthday experience Kid-friendliness: All our group was made to feel very welcome - thank you Melody !
Exactly how service should be. We had a great dinner last night, and highly recommend going in for the Sushi and then having the burger! So glad to see this hotel reopened! Looking forward to coming back.
Good food
Funky afternoon tea
Never disappointing ! This is our go to place for date night, and the staff take incredible care of us. Beautiful surroundings and the perfect place for a romantic evening.
Alice Restaurant is beautiful and elegant, a quiet place, worth a visit. You need to call to make a better reservation
Design-led hotel restaurant and courtyard with long pale wood tables, serving Malaysian street food.
Lovely on the inside. Fabulous fresh food.
Super
Not bad food is good
As I was staying at the hotel for several days, I ate several times in the restaurant, twice I ordered the meat, which would be the dish that I most recommend on the menu, accompanied by a caprese salad, another day I ordered the chicken and I couldnt eat it , was filled with vegetables and very strong flavored spices and I ordered a salad that came with a soy sauce dressing that was so salty that it was inedible. Regarding breakfast, most days I ordered the toast with avocado and egg which was very delicious, another day the omelet with egg whites which tasted a lot like milk and butter and finally the yogurt with granola and fruits which I ate right away. It made me sick to my stomach. Actually, if you go to this restaurant, I would play it safe, have meat for dinner or lunch and toast with avocado for breakfast. On the other hand, the service is good and the place is very nice.
Alice in Wonderland Afternoon Tea (2017): This was absolutely fantastic, it doesnt cost much, but you definitely get what you pay for. Everything was in the theme of Alice in Wonderland, Drinkme drink and Eat me cakes, also cakes with chess pieces on them, ... it was great! The staff is also friendly and you can choose from 5 special teas that you have probably never had before. And if its your birthday, you get an extra cake! It was very cute! This was awesome, its not cheap, but its so, so worth it! Everything was themed Alice in Wonderland; a drink me drink, little eat me cake, ... just fantastic. The waiters are very friendly and enthusiastic!
The breakfast at the Sanderson was good. The waiters were super nice, and the food was good!
A lovely place to catch up- great food, drinks and service, highly recommend.
Went today for the mad hatters afternoon tea and it was amazing!! From the minute we entered the hotel the lovely man on the door greeted us and was very helpful to the waiter and waitress serving us that were so attentive!! Food was fabulous and service was superb!! Such good value and a wonderful experience.
The gas garden was a dream and the coffee is unbeatably good!
Mid week shambles What I can only describe as a utter mess. We booked a table for a birthday dinner - they had a special offer for 50% off food for showcasing a new chef. My view based on all elements: The venue - really lovely vibe but very cold. It was warmer outside. We asked the waitress to address the temperature. Nothing happened. The staff - not sure what they were doing too be honest. There was so many of them yet it took us 30 mins to get a spirits menu and forever for our drinks to even turn up. The only beverage menu they provide is wine and cocktails. The waitress couldnt tell you what dishes had dairy or what dishes didnt (the menu had about 8 starters and main courses). When I placed my order for fillet, she didnt bother asking how I wanted my meat cooked??? Definitely some training needed I feel. The food - well. what a mess. Everything was absolutely drenched in salt. Starters were - octopus and burrata - both were so so salty. The octopus was overcooked, salty, burnt and cold. For main course I had fillet steak - which basically was rare (not medium rare which I ordered). It was cold and salty. We also had the sea bass and the cod - both were cold and salty. We ordered the steamed veg which was also cold, when we asked to have some warm veg they put the veg in the microwave and sent it back. We got to the point where we were really disappointed with cold, salty, overcooked food. We told the waitress and the manager came over and insisted all the food was recooked. And no surprise here - the food came back on a warmer plate....however it was luke warm and salty. What a mess. Considering this was supposedly profiling a new chef it was pretty terrible. All we got offered was a free drinks round and I wasnt even drinking. Lack luster staff. Busy doing nothing. Pretty awful food. 5* star hotel. I can without a doubt say we will not be going back.
Amazing afternoon tea
Expensive but great fun had the Alice in wonderland boozy tea
Great Mad Hatters afternoon tea but building entrance is very outdated.
Service was rotten. 2.5hrs for a 3 course meal. And it wasnt because the food was sitting on our table waiting for us. 20 mins before server even came to the table! 1 hour wait for a little 1x1 square of chocolate moose!!!! Rotten. Never come here again!!!!
The Sanderson is a very well-known hotel in London; Amy Winehouse and her boyfriend were papped outside here after a week-long binge which gives it a bit of rock n roll glamour. The interior design is very stylized which seems to attract a certain type of person - think guys in snazzy suits and women with *very* high heels. The rooms themselves are lovely, although you dont get much privacy in the bathroom and when I visited in the height of the summer the air conditioning was less than efficient. Great location though.
The rooms, gym & bar are all excellent. Service at the bar can be pretty slow at times, but the food & drinks available throughout are good.
I went to The Sanderson for the Mad Hatters Tea Party afternoon tea. The food was excellent. The rhubarb and custard flavour tea was amazing.
Went there yesterday for the Mad Hatters tea party. The staff was very friendly and made sure we were treated well. The food looked and tasted great. The jelly selection didnt really taste great.. but everything else was fine! Overall it was a good experience!
Funky place, great bar:-)!
Brilliant shop with fantastic service
Stayed here for 4 nights on business and pleasure. A fantastic place with professional staff.
Went there 2 weeks ago. No complaints really. Food was excellent, service was excellent. The place is in the hotel which is not apparent when youre standing outside. Some of the best satay the wife and I have had. Well recommended for Malaysian food, albeit its not cheap.
A very design orientated hotel. Some great artistic pieces - the red lips chair and bubble seat. zebra seat in the pool room. The rooms are very neutral looking ie white, lovely swan chairs Breakfast in fabulous but expensive £25
