Even though we only had the bar experience at walk in, the food was well worth the effort dropping by. Even though it was 1 Michelin star, everything was casual and absolutely enjoyable. While we were eating, we also had full view of the kitchen, which was very much like a performance throughout our entire time there. We had the Camarones Fritos and Txistorra Tortilla, washing everything down with their Red Sangria. I especially loved their Camarones Fritos, as the egg oozed so much awesomeness over the fried white shrimps. Will likely be back for their counter seats dining experience some other time!

Sabor is an exceptional Spanish restaurant that offers an incredible dining experience. The overall atmosphere is warm, inviting, and vibrant, perfectly capturing the essence of Spanish culture. The chefs not only prepare mouthwatering dishes but also take the time to introduce each course in an engaging and informative way. Their humor and charm add an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. The food is absolutely outstanding – every dish is a delightful combination of authentic flavors and beautiful presentation. From the rich and flavorful tapas to the perfectly cooked main courses, every bite was a treat for the senses. The attention to detail and the use of high-quality ingredients really stood out. I would highly recommend Sabor to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable Spanish dining experience. It’s the perfect place for a special night out or to simply enjoy great food with friends and family!

I heard about Sabor and had been meaning to go for a while. It is unique insofar as that it is 3 Spanish restaurants in one yet all 3 parts are covered by its one Michelin star: there is The Counter (walk ins only) which is on the ground floor and is literally sitting on the counter in front of the kitchen while the chefs prepare your sharing plates. There is also Bar on ground floor then there is El Asador on the 1st floor which is the main dining space (by reservation). The restaurant afternoon session opens at 5:30pm and I was first in line for The Counter having queued from 5:10pm. At exactly 5:30pm doors opened and was seated at The Counter. All 3 restaurants were full within 5min of seating. We were a party of 3 and ordered 6 dishes overall i.e. 2 per person which was enough for us as we’d just had snacks a few hours earlier, however I’d recommend 3 dishes per person if you’re extremely hungry. All the dishes we had were excellent especially the octopus, the seared tuna, the aroz negro with monkfish tempura and the cuttlefish papardelle. I enjoyed the tortilla dish too but for me wasn’t on the same level as the other dishes. We were too full to order desserts, however there are a few interesting options on the menu to choose from. The restaurant was buzzing with energy and had a casual tapas bar vibe. The service was excellent too with our waitress - who was standing behind the counter alongside the kitchen staff - explaining our options clearly and was always there whenever we needed her. Price wise it is on the expensive side but that’s what you’d expect from a one Michelin star restaurant located in a prime location in Central London. My verdict is that if you enjoy (or never tried) high quality Spanish tapas then Sabor is a must visit. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, yet while it’s unlikely I’d return to the The Counter, I’m keen to try El Asador upstairs.

I've been coming here for years and it's consistently amazing with consistently great staff. I don't think I've had a single bad dish or bad experience with the team. I came this Saturday however, and somehow they surpassed my previous already great experiences. The calm of the head chef, skill and genuine enjoyment from all of the staff was amazing. Don't change a thing! I've always visited the counter - still need to make it upstairs!

Food was absolutely on point. Amazing flavours packed into small tapas dishes. Found ourselves leaving with many new favourites: — Oxtail Sandwich: umami, strong, & an awesome mix of textures — Txistorra: one of the best we’ve ever gotten to try For the prices you pay, you get really small plates - so good if you want to splurge a bit. Would love to come back & try their other specials!

Sitting at the counter was an incredible experience. I was traveling solo and only had to wait about 30 minutes at prime dinner time on a Saturday night to be seated. The food was absolutely incredible. I have been to 3 star restaurants that I’ve been less impressed with the food. Each dish was complex, creative, and flavorful and the drinks list did a great job of complimenting the food. It was so cool sitting at the counter and getting to watch the chefs in action. All around amazing (and shockingly inexpensive) experience, I will be back any time I’m in London in the future!

Cod, octopus, oxtail sandwich, suckling pig... Everything was superb. If you can't decide, just ask the staff for recommendations. Service was friendly and attentive, despite how busy the place was. It was such a fantastic experience that I can't wait to write a review right after we left. That's how good everything was.

Another great dining experience for my wife and I, as we chase Michelin, recognized and starred locations. The food was amazing, great flavors, well portioned, and cooked perfectly. The squid, while Im not a huge fan, was the best Ive ever had... not the chewy meat Ive had so many times. Our favorite small dish was the fried monk fish, very satisfying and flavored well with the dipping sauce.

I write this review to cover the points I didn t find in other reviews prior and I hope it helps others decide and the owners improve. We had the octopus, monkfish, black pudding and the lamb, of these the most interesting and flavourful was the monkfish tempura, which is odd that the best dish is a tempura in a Spanish restaurant. The other three were not bad, but they were a let down. If the chef s are reading this: I d add saffron to the lamb, it s how we do it in India and if you re okay learning from Japan, I d surely urge you to consider taking this input from India. It ll cut through the fat and make it so much more enjoyable to eat, trust me. For the Octopus, it would be great if you didn t make the octopus swim in the oil and maybe give the oil on the side, as the soggy octopus loses the wonderful snappiness that s inherent from roasting them. Lastly, the black pudding; while the rest were pretty clear how we were to eat them, this felt confusing. A couple of black puddings, some sausages and roasted pepper placed around a plate doesn t really help us figure out how to eat it. I d also add something sweet like a jam or a balsamic reduction, I had to spread the jam from the monkfish dish to the black pudding, just to balance the flavours. I m no chef, but the food was always missing my palate, and I hope the points above simply help the restaurant become better. The waiters were lovely, but I do wish they told us we ordered too much, or at least gave us an idea of the size. Our table was at 10PM, and we had 10 minutes after arriving to finish placing the order as the kitchen had to close. It was haphazard, and it would have been helpful if they emailed the menu to us so we could prepare ourselves better. Finally the dessert, we shared a white truffle dessert. The texture was average, the flavour was good, but like the rest of the night it didn t satisfy the soul. We would have enjoyed the dessert more if the waiter didn t tell us it s like panna cotta . We expected something completely different from what we got. The dessert s texture was more akin to the Indian dessert Sandesh than it is to a Panna Cotta. Overall, when I left I was annoyed with myself. The food was average, but what really got my goat was that we over-ordered for 2 people. I simply wish the waiter told me that when I repeatedly asked him. He kept saying for me, it s not so much and what is one supposed to conclude from that? It s more helpful to say the lamb is around 500gms . I hate it when people just shit all over restaurants for no reason, and I hope I am not doing that here. It s my experience but the food could be elevated with a few steps, the service can be more communicative and detailed. But it s likely that we went too late and the kitchen and its staff were fatigued. I hope to visit Sabor again in the future with friends to have the full pig, and I m praying that the owners don t see this review as hate posting.

I arrived about 6pm and asked for a seat at the counter. It was completely full and the server said it would be about 7.30-8pm until space was available. Obviously they cant magically make seats become free so I was fine with this. I was then told I had to sit outside and wait and that under no circumstances was I allowed to leave the premises or I would lose my place in the queue. I was already a bit annoyed by this (plenty of bars right next door - why do I have to stick around outside for 1.5-2 hours?) but agreed thinking at least I could enjoy a glass of wine or two on the patio. I waited outside for a fair few minutes but nobody came to offer me a drink or even a glimpse at a menu so I left and went to Barrafina. Perhaps the food is great here and it was certainly busy on a Wednesday night, but the service is woeful. Why make it so complicated to spend money? Either take bookings or let people wait in a nearby bar. At the very least you could make the effort to bring around a drinks menu.

The food was amazing and there was a good atmosphere, but the service wasnt great. We came as a walk-in for the counter/bar dining just to try a few dishes. We were asked to wait in the bar, which was fine, but we were actually sat at a table behind the stairs and werent offered a drink while we waited. Once seated, it wasnt really clear how ordering dishes worked, and while we were halfway through a dish, we were asked to move seats to accommodate another group.

I have been already 2 times. The food tasted so good the first time that I needed to try a second time for different dishes and I left very satisfied with what I ordered. I found the causa peruana, the steak and Ceviche the best of the different dishes I tried. The quality and taste of the food is balanced to the price. Parking: The hotel has some parking lots in the garage reserved for the restaurant Wheelchair accessibility: The Restaurant has an elevator that goes from entrance or parking underground to the top.

I have been here a long time ago, but I forgot to review this place. And this is a very special place, Michelin starred, a restaurant that elevates the whole concept of tapas to a new, stratospheric, level! In case you are 2 or more, the Asador upstairs is where you can expect to get a masterfully cooked Cocinillo( suckling pig ) together with all other dishes that are complex in their simplicity, all have a depth of flavour rarely equalled anywhere else in London . I was in my own, without reservation, and I was lucky enough to get a table downstairs. The downstairs is walk-in only, but it has the same spectacular cooking, and the service is faultless, warm, kind and smiley. The coking happens right in front of you, and there is no margin for error. The cuttlefish croquetas were outstanding, the tuna was incredible, the monkfish tempura was wonderful, so was the rubia Gallega sirloin with Jerusalem artichokes. I had a Godello wine that was the perfect match with the food . I ended this spectacular meal with 2 desserts, a pine ice cream and uvas, and a tartlet with mascarpone, mandarin and whisky, both incredible! My last little treat was a great sherry, a perfect ending to a perfect experience . A special mention to the service, everybody was so nice and warm, I felt like I was talking to friends rather than the chef or the waiting staff, everybody was fast, efficient, wonderful. I cannot wait to go back ! Thank you guys you were all amazing !

Simply incredible! Came here for a birthday dinner and I really can t describe how amazing the food is at Sabor. We both said that it was the best meal we have had in London for a very very long time. We had the specials of pumpkin coquettes (sublime), the crispy artichoke (I have never been able to describe sometime as melt in the mouth but this was delectable and simply melted on the tongue), then the octopus (a must after watching the chef prepare it), and a quarter suckling pig (literally fell off the bone with deliciously crispy skin on top) and we had the gem salad as a side (which for something relatively simply compared to other items on the menu was incredible!) The service was flawless and yes we noticed it was a 14.5% service charge - it didn t matter - we were more than happy to pay the service charge! (We actually had good service in London - what a joy - it does still exist!!) (I thought the SC was usually 12.5% but maybe I haven t noticed the creep up across the board) Our bill was high for 2 but we enjoyed a very nice bottle of red wine and then 2 glasses each afterwards which pushed the bill up. However, for me, it was worth every penny (it is very rare I can say that after meals in London nowadays). We can t wait to go back - it is a MUST to visit - book well in advance as tables are booked up within seconds!!

The menu on 2nd floor and ground floor are different. Better booked in advance as the queue gets busy as soon as they open. Got a table for only 2 hours so netter decided your main quickly as it can take up to 45 mins to cook (lamb and beef). Lamb shoulder is good, love it with the caramelised shallot. The dry aged beef was at least 48 days but a little too chewy for me.

The quality of the produce here is outstanding. Like most great spanish food, it lets the forementioned do the talking, with simplicity of the cooking not overshadowing it. Thats not to say the technique and forethought at Sabor here isnt high level. No, it takes skill to make food seem simple yet blows the palate. From the sour dough bread served with the most fruity olive oil to the decadent chocolate cake made with blue cheese, every dish from start to finish were faultless. My personal faves were the heavenly morsels of lamb chops and the octopus. Come here, sit back, and enjoy the most amazing Spanish dining experience outside of San Sebastian.

November 22, 2024

I went to the restaurant to make a reservation for lunch for the following day. Was ushered to the second level, and wasnt explained the options available for level one, which probably I would have chosen for a fun lunch experience with my sons. Food was generally pleasant but not outstanding by any means, thats until they served a 125quid Gallacian steak that was overcooked and unevenly cooked. I was looking forward to this, and really disappointed with it, but Zen, I accepted that they had a bad day and apart from the steak, the other dishes were okay. When asked for my feedback, they could tell we left the overcooked parts on the plate, and could also tell likely that I was disappointed, and I said the steak was overcooked without much dramas. The response wasnt great and in fact triggered me even more than the overcooked steak, because dont ask me for a feedback if you arent prepared to accept it. I didnt even call the chef or wait staff over to complain that they over cooked a beautiful piece of meat after paying 125quid for it, I just kept quiet and wanted to enjoy my time with my sons. My 12 and 14 yr old boys has eaten enough steak in their life time to comment that its overcooked, and honestly you would expect better cooking at Sabor. It was a silly reply and trying to defend that its normal that some parts of the steak will cook differently than others and offer no apology for the badly overcooking it. I cooked better steaks at home and more evenly, and if you cant execute it well in a Josper oven then maybe take it off the menu. A self respecting chef would be able to tell that it was overcooked and accept that its below his standards. Again, I wish to stress that my unhappiness wasnt so much the premium steak was overcooked, Im probably cringing more that a good piece of meat was so poorly wasted. However, if you asked for my feedback and wasnt prepared to take it, and in turn made it sound like its normal and that Im stupid and dont know what Im talking about, I think that reflects very badly on you. Also worth mentioning that the chefs look very agitated and didnt look like they were happy to be there. Going through the motion, and at one point had a bit of a drama telling off a new wait staff who was serving us. This lad is young and new, green but I really appreciated that he was trying and credit to him, he was the saving grace through the lunch. But its a very bad look when the customer who is paying hundreds of pounds to have an enjoyable lunch, witnessing some of that toxic behaviour. Its hospitality guys, even when things dont go well, remain professional in front of your customers who pay top dime for an experience. If this is what goes on when customers are there, I can only wonder....

During my research about London dining it was hard to miss Sabor, hence we made a booking and arrived early with much excitement. The staff were great and explained the menu, the specials as well as their own personal favourites. So then why the 3 star rating? - the place feels really chaotic, people running up and down the stairs - the toilets are filthy - the open kitchen is a nice concept but weird to have guests coats hung right next to it, our jackets smelt like oily pork - the flavours were a little one dimensional, the suckling pig was just ok - for what you get the price is pretty punchy, we re used to paying premium but this felt off. I get that the location also commands the price but the food should hit it out of the park.

November 22, 2024

My boyfriend and I had high hopes for our anniversary lunch at Sabor, especially given its 2nd floor Michelin rated status, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. During our meal, the waitress accidentally spilled sangria on me, soaking my new clothes and breaking the wine glass in the process. The glass shattered over my lap, and tiny shards ended up on my pants. Thankfully, I was wearing jeans; if I had bare legs, the glass could have easily cut me. It was a dangerous situation, to say the least. Though the staff offered to cover the dry-cleaning fee, it didnt account for the immediate impact on my day. They helped by using soap on my shirt, but red wine stains aren t easy to remove. My wet, stained clothes left me cold in the rainy weather, and being on vacation with a limited wardrobe, I couldn t get them properly cleaned. Since dry-cleaning stores don t open on Sundays and we were leaving on Monday, I couldn t salvage the outfit. Having the customers find and take their clothes to the dry cleaner is also an extra complication and it is very inconsiderate. While we tried to stay positive for our anniversary, the incident affected the rest of our day and plans. It was also disappointing that we were still charged in full despite the mishap, which, for a Michelin-starred restaurant, was unexpected. We didn t want to make a fuss considering our date, but we felt the level of hospitality fell short of what one would expect at an establishment of Sabors reputation. Our experience didn t match the standard we d hoped for, and I hope this issue is addressed so others don t have a similarly disappointing dining experience.

Of course, the food quality is also outstanding. The food presentation is exquisite and the price is certainly not cheap. During lunch, the chef will also perform the trick of cooking Spanish octopus several times for everyone to take photos and keep them. Ive wanted to go to Sabor for a very long time, on this occasion, we booked in advance and dined at El asador, the dining room above the lively tapas bar that you initially walk in to. Upstairs offers a bright dining room with an open kitchen and several tables in a casual setting. Our menu was presented alongside the specials board and we chose a few items to share amongst the 4 of us. There was a few tapas plates and some larger sharing plates too. We opted for Prawn croquetas which were stunning, Tortilla which was classic and good, plus Grilled courgette with romesco and cheese which was very good. We also tried their Turbot fillet with a green sauce which had a crisp skin and succulent flesh. Then we moved on to the suckling pig which was my main objective for eating upstairs. This is served in 3 size options, the smallest one is £80 and served 4 comfortably. The skin was thin and crisp in a way Ive never seen in London and the meat was delicious! Especially with the additional jus. We opted to eat this with their Patatas with 2 sauces which were insanely good and we ordered another portion. We ended with the Beef rib which was £105 for a bone-in 850g piece. This was cooked absolutely perfectly at the medium rare requested. The fat was exceptional in flavour and the meat was charred perfectly with a touch too much salt, just the way it should be. This was served with a tomato salad and provided us around 3-4 slices per person. In terms of value for money, you certainly get more meat with the pork and a more unique experience, but the beef was excellent. Ideally both between 4 worked perfectly. Overall we really enjoyed our time here, we found the service to be speedy, knowledgeable and appropriate. I cant wait to return and try the tapas bar!! Well worth the long wait to visit!

Terrible service, they charged me 100 pounds and I have never received an email confirmation from them stating that I have a booking with them. I am in love with this place where 5 is not enough stars to describe how excellent this lovely establishment is From checking in at reception with the lovely team, to have flawless service at my table with extraordinary dishes they offer, to high-fiving them on my way out were such wonderful experience on my food venture. Every plate I had was extremely flavorful and delicious. When I had their fried pig ears, I ended up calling my Spanish friend out via text mid-bite for this never-before-introduced dish by him and it was that good. They also popped in the next day with their reservation portal to make my next visit easier which is a nice touch. I can t wait to go back here, it is now my absolute new favorite restaurant in London. Thank you team, you all are incredible!!

This is my second visit. What brings me back is the Segovian Suckling Pig . I m really curious about how they manage to roast the suckling pig skin to be so crispy while keeping the meat so tender. The other dishes I ve tried, like the octopus, have all maintained a high standard. I especially enjoyed the wild mushroom salad. The only downside is that the table was too small, and it felt like the dishes were about to fall off at any moment.

From the moment we stepped into Sabor (with long wait at the bar), we were transported into a world of culinary artistry. The ambience strikes a perfect balance between elegance and warmth, with soft lighting and tasteful decor that immediately makes you feel at home. Each dish served was nothing short of a masterpiece. The chef s innovative use of ingredients, masterful technique, and respect for tradition all come through in every bite. The desserts ( Madelein with Time gelato-special of the day) were a delightful conclusion light, inventive, and impeccably balanced. Every element on the plate had a purpose and played its part in an unforgettable symphony of flavours. This is more than just a meal; it is a journey. It s no wonder they ve earned their Michelin star, and I wouldn t be surprised to see more stars in their future.

Sabor London, nestled in the heart of Mayfair, is a vibrant celebration of Spanish cuisine, offering four distinct culinary experiences: La Mesa, the Counter, the ground-floor Bar, and El Asador on the first floor. Each space provides a unique understanding of the rich tapestry of Spanish cuisine. Our journey led us up the narrow, winding stairwell to El Asador, where we indulged in the Segovian Suckling Pig a dish that stands as the jewel of Castilian cuisine. Be prepared to be blown away by this iconic offering, which is roasted to perfection in a traditional wood-fired oven, yielding a crackling, golden skin that gives way to impossibly tender, juicy, and flavorful bites of the meat. The pulpo a feira, a Galician-style octopus, exemplifies Sabor Londons dedication to authentic Spanish fare. Each tender morsel of octopus is elevated by a delicate balance of mild and hot paprika, which enriches the olive oil s luxurious depth. The dish is a simple masterclass, allowing the ingredients quality to shine through. The seafood rice, steeped in a rich and flavorful broth, features an array of fresh seafood, including shrimp and fish. The dish s creamy texture, reminiscent of a well-executed risotto, pairs beautifully with the delicately cooked grey sole, making it a perfect shared plate experience. Our evening at this Mayfair gem was nothing short of enchanting, and its clear why Sabor London earned its Michelin star in 2018. The restaurant is a true testament to the vibrancy and depth of Spanish cuisine, offering an unforgettable dining experience in every bite.

Sabor was my first ever Michelin-starred dining experience, and it lived up to and exceeded my expectations. The staff were warm, friendly, and helpful. One of Sabors endearing aspects is that the majority of the walk-in seating is at a counter that looks in on the kitchen, allowing you to watch the staff at work and allowing them to interact with you and occasionally narrate what theyre doing. It made for a friendly, easygoing, and interesting environment. The restaurant itself is also charming and beautiful. The food was delicious and everything was prepared impeccably I couldnt detect any mistakes or shortcomings in the dishes we were served. I had the piquillo croquetas with Manchego cheese, the ricotta and crab brioche, the seared tuna with ajo blanco, the piquillo pepper stuffed with braised oxtail, the trout with figs, and a cheese selection for dessert. Every dish was flavorful and incredibly interesting. The croquetas were my favorite and I highly recommend them, but you can order anything on the menu and it will be delicious and cooked and plated flawlessly. Michelin-starred restaurants are not usually in my budget for obvious reasons, and Sabor is not a cheap dining experience. But if you want an extra-special dining experience, Sabor was certainly that for me.

We hadnt booked but after 25 minutes of waiting at the bar with a sangria we were able to sit at the counter right in front of the stove. The staff is very welcoming and smiling. We were well advised. The products are fresh and cooked instantly before your eyes! And its a treat. I find it difficult to convey how disappointed I was this with this experience. We were told the £45 per person La Mesa menu was like a starter by our host. She proceeded to attempt to add items to our order that we did not want. I have been to Michelin restaurants before and this is without a doubt, the lowest quality of food, paired with the smallest portions received. It s possibly one of the worst meals I have had in London. To make things worse, the host told us certain items were complementary but then added them to our bill (approx £100 extra). To me this behaviour is unacceptable, especially when the restaurant only offered to give a partial refund for some of the items that weren t ordered. I was tempted to report the matter to the police. Please stay clear of this place as I wouldn t want anyone else to go through the same experience.

I had high expectations, but sadly, some basic things were just a letdown. The food - The prawn croquettes - beautiful, melted in your mouth. Monkfish tempura - light batter, soft flaky fish but lacked seasoning. The bread and olive oil - this was poor; the bread was cut freshly, which we saw, but only one slice was warmish, and the other was stale and cold. The little olive oil you get just was stingy. We ordered some more again as we had sauces from the squid we wanted to dip into, but again, the bread was just dry. Super disappointing. Patatas rojos - were gorgeous, and the sauce was amazing. Pulpo a feira (squid) - was, unfortunately, just average; some of the squid was just mushy. For the price, expected something more... The tomatoes and egg dishes were, unfortunately, quite watery. Paella was a small dish but enough to share if you order a few more from the starters. Cooked fresh to order. It was good - but 2 little prawns...? Overall, it was creamy and rich, but it just lacked depth of flavour. The venue is beautiful, the staff are friendly. If it didnt come with the Michelin star I wouldnt be comparing them to other restaurants of the same rating. Just one too many issues to give it the 5 stars. My wife organised for my birthday, and although I enjoyed the food if it was purely an objective food review, then its a 4 out of 5. The total was around £170 for two with drinks, on the higher end for a lunch of this quality, sadly. Will keep an eye on when they change their menu and hope to try again.

I used to go to Sabor before they got a star, and if I am in the neighborhood by myself and don t know where to eat I would go there as the food was great and service was really good. My recent experience was quite the opposite and I am not sure whether I would ever revisit. I went with my friends who moved out of the UK and returned for summer holiday and they would like to go back to have dinner here. Knowing that there would be a long queue when the restaurant opens at 5:30pm I decided to arrive a little earlier to queue for a table. I was the first one to arrive and was in the third place in the queue, in front of me there were a group of five (including a child) and a group of two. When the receptionist asked me how many people in my group I said we had five (including a child), she said she could not fit us in as they only had eighteen seats and there was a child in the previous group already. Then as my friends have not arrived she asked me to wait until we all arrived (which is understandable as this rule is stated on the website). Then they arrived in 2 mins, the lady started saying oh I can t fit you in as we don t take a table over four people for walk-in and I was vey annoyed and questioned why they did not state that anywhere and she said it was all on the website. I double checked and clearly nothing was stated anywhere about this ridiculous rule. We got offered four seats to squeeze in together with my friends poor girl. I don t understand how this restaurant would turn into a place like this nowadays. Probably because what happened before the dinner the food tasted not as good as before and I just don t think I would ever go back. There are better places in this city for sure. Kid-friendliness: Not at all!

My suggestion is to go before they open or at 7 when the 5pm crowd is leaving. While waiting we had the tempura monkfish and the croquets which were tasty. Our service at the outside while waiting was poor service inside was the total opposite. The service was attentive. The whole mackerel and the Txistorra tortilla were amazing. We also got crab rice (it was ok), prawns(they were good but wouldn t order them again) these items were also on special. I find when service staff can t pick out specific dishes to recommend, it s as good as nothing is truly outstanding. Simple yet extraordinary, respectful towards produce, thoughtful, detail-oriented, humble and mind-blowingly tasty Sabor is a philosophy not just a place to eat at. It was the best meal of our lives. I booked a table at Sabor a couple of months in advance for my partners birthday occasion. The booking was for the upstairs area El Asador. On the entry, we were warmly welcomed, given a key and directed upstairs. Our host met us at El Asador, and took our bags and the key to lock the bags. We were shown to our table and given some time to browse the menu. Shortly after our host gave us a detailed and highly inspirational explanation of the dishes as well as the specials of the day. We decided to have crispy coated cod cheeks, scallops and crisp fried pig s ears for starters. For mains, we opted for Pulpo a Feira (octopus), Tortilla Gallega and a quarter of Segovian suckling pig with sides of Patatas Mojo Rojo (fried baby potatoes) and baby gem salad with sun-dried tomatoes. Our sangria arrived first and we didn t need to wait long for the starters. Cod cheeks had a light crispy coating outside and were silky and soft inside. Scallops were thinly cut and marinated, with lovely sauce, herbs and caviar. This dish was a work of art. The presentation was so beautiful almost felt sorry to ruin it. The flavour was perfectly balanced, all ingredients complimenting each other. As a fan of pig ears since childhood I looked forward to tasting Sabor s take on them. It was the flavours of my childhood taken to the next level. Pigs ears were so light, fluffy and crispy, they just melted on your tongue, and the drops of sauce around them perfectly complemented the flavour of the years. The starters gave a perfect boost to our taste buds, leaving us inspired to try the mains. Pulpo a Feira (octopus) was mindblowing. It was such a simple dish, executed perfectly and embracing less is more , immaculately soft and full of flavour. Don t know how I ended up even liking Tortilla Gallega, even though I am not a big fan of eggs. It was cooked to the perfect temperature, making it slightly runny once cut through and so flavorful. Could never imagine potatoes and eggs could taste this good. And last but not least, the start of the show Segovian suckling pig. These masterminds managed to get the skin of the pig super crispy but also light, with the meat inside soft, shiny and just falling off the bones. The pig came with flavorful dipping sauce. If you pour the sauce on the pig and dip sourdough bread in the juices while enjoying the succulent pig you will be mindblown. Even the side dishes of baby potatoes and gem lettuce salad were taken to the next level. Nothing overpowering, minimum ingredients, executed perfectly and celebrating the quality of the produce. The open kitchen was a nice addition to the experience. The atmosphere in the kitchen was reflected in the dishes. Everyone seemed to be in perfect harmony with each other, cooking with pleasure and enjoyment. Big thank you to Sabor for hosting us. I believe Sabor is the embodiment of what happens when a group of talented inspired individuals put their hearts in their work and do what they love the most.

This restaurant is consistently fantastic. Every dish is as good if not better than the last, tried the lobster tonight and while expensive (£79) it was worth it! Cooked several ways and each bite was delicious! Seriously though, go try it, it s amazing! However, and this is the only drawback, it s not a cheap meal, but you get the highest quality of ingredients for the price paid.

Been wanting to eat at Sabor for a while now and it was well worth the wait. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Our waiter; lovely lad from southern Poland was really knowledgeable and had the best welcoming energy. The food was phenomenal. As a Spaniard, I love seeing a representation of Northern Spanish food that doesnt revolve around Pintxos only. The smoked couliflower was such a delicious surprise, wafer thin and delicious. The scalopps were perfectly complimented by the sauce and so fresh too. My favourite dish was the chuletillas (chops). Stunning presentation and tender, soft and flavoursome without a gram of fat. Just a fantastic dish with a lovely dressing. We had the moscatel and the Pedro Ximenez alongside the pineapple sorbet and the chocolate cheesecake for dessert. The cheesecake was fabulous and the biscot base was just delicious. Sabor is officially one of my favourite restaurants now! Thank you for such a wonderful evening

Phenomenal- what a treat. We sat upstairs and had such a great time. The food was phenomenal, the wine and cocktails were top notch. We loved it. The staff were so amazing!!! Couldn t recommend this place enough. Very worth the price. We walked away thinking it was well-worth it. The pulpo a fiera is so great. Loved the scallops. We got a few specials and they were great. There was a cod cheek tempura special that had just the best flavours! I couldn t recommend the seafood rice enough- WOW! We got lamb shoulder for our main and it was falling off the bone. Great portion sizes. We walked away full, which is rare for Michelins in my opinion. Amazing chocolate cheesecake and loved the homemade honey saffron ice cream. Thanks - can t wait to be back. Vegetarian options: Mainly fish and meat but there is a veggie section.

I feel pretty awful leaving a poor review for this place that I used to love. It s sad that it s seems inevitable for only but a few excellent places to keep its consistency for longer than its original hype cycle. Sadly Sabor has now joined the long run of places that had a good run . I went twice in the last week, once as a solo, once as a two. I have no objections about the food but the uninterested service casually pointing to the writing on the boards instead of taking time to explain WHY I should choose something is what I take away and sadly I don t think I ll be returning anytime soon.

The experience at Sabor was the best in London. The service here was warm and inviting, halfway through the meal, they even invited us to watch an octopus cooking demonstration. The chef cooking the octopus even posed for photos at intervals, which was very interesting. For starters, we chose pigs ears, which were fried, a method we tried for the first time, and it was quite unique. We tried two of the restaurants signature dishes, octopus and roast suckling pig. The octopus was cooked very tenderly, with an excellent texture, and a small portion was enough for two people. The roast suckling pig, with the smallest portion being a quarter, was still too much for two people. However, the crispy skin of the roast suckling pig combined with the sauce was overall satisfactory.

Went in July 2023. Food was generally tasty. Some dishes were too salty for my liking but probbaly that s how it s done in Spain. Don t think dishes were innovative enough for 1 Michelin star. Go once and that s it

I complained about the table when we arrived though it was a week prior booked, the staff did the impossible for us to feel comfortable though the restaurant was fully booked, they managed to change the table wish was great. The food was amazing, one of the orders was fish and it tasted like butter, we mainly ordered fish platers and they were very very good. Hats off to the chief and super friendly staff

Sensational from start to finish. Service We love Spanish food and this was some of the best we ve tasted and we ve just got back from San Sebastián, Madrid and Seville. The best Tortilla (seasoning Texture ) The best prawn croquettes (tasted like the first bite into the tail meat of a fabulous Atlantic prawn), The monkfish tempura was also exceptional (light crispy batter, perfectly seasoned, that let the subtle flavour of the fish shine through). And the suckling pig was NEXT LEVEL. 5 star experience

Food was, as expected, excellent. A nice environment and with friendly service and thoughtful menu. It had a Quick and easy vibe to it, yet lacked attention to detail you might expect from restaurants in this price point. Due to the location, popular with tourists, although I cant fault that. Worth visiting and trying!

After a long walk IN SOHO, we were looking for some delicious food. We passed by here quite by chance, and there is probably not much better than a round of Michelin food. We were lucky enough that they had a table after we had sat at the bar for 30 minutes. Wait, it was delicious, even the bread made me want to dance over it. Super authentic to sit right in front of where they cook, great experience. A little about the food, it tasted really good and everything had great quality. My favorite dish was scallops with lime and jãlapenos sauce. It was so delicious that I have tried to make it at home... but I am not ashamed of some Michelin chef. The price was to play with.

Food: Taste was amazing. Portions are smaller than average as expected. Service: The inside staff was amazing including the bar and the restaurant side. I am giving 3 stars due to the attitude of the entry personnel. Extremely disappointing from the gentlemen who were supposed to welcome us. Atmosphere: Small space, crowded. A bit loud.

Sabor has been one of my favourite restaurants in London for a long time. Easily the best Spanish food in London for both Asador, where they take bookings, and the counter. However, the counter has lately become a very slow service. Tapas seem to take c. 15-20 minutes between courses, which given youll finish each plate in about 2 bites and need at the very least three to four per person (more if youre hungry) is too long. Again, best Spanish food in London but given speed of service at the counter, only worth it if you can make a booking at the Asador upstairs.

We ate at the bar in this restaurant. It was disappointingly bad value. Sabor is noisy, serves tiny portions which are extremely overpriced, and none of the dishes we had were particularly outstanding. Some were good, others distinctly mediocre. Almost all were poor value. The service was efficient, functional and mechanical but not particularly hospitable. The staff are well trained on sales to the point of being pushy and adding an extra dish we didn t ask for to our meal and bill. Despite spending nearly £400 on dinner for 4 we were rushed out, nearly pushed out, at the end of our meal, and we left hungry. The restaurant lacks charm. It is probably a profitable business, but we won t go back or recommend it to others.

Staff were attentive and super friendly. The food were amazing! Best prawn croquettes and octopus I have ever had. The first one tasted like lobster and the second was cooked till super soft not the typical chewy one you would find in other Spanish restaurants. The seafood rice was cooked to perfection and the ox tail sandwich was very tasty but maybe a little too salty for my taste. The monkfish tempura was excellent and still could taste the freshness of the fish even though it has been deep fried! The pig ears were good too but probably the least shocking one. We were two and ordered six tapas still feel full till the next morning
