Hawksmoor Seven Dials is a short walk from Covent Garden & Seven Dials. The restaurant is a perfect place for steak dinners, seafood and Sunday roasts.
Stopped in for dessert, specifically sticky toffee pudding. We started out with cocktails, a Sour cherry Negroni and Gingerbread Man. Both were excellent. Next up the Sticky Toffee Pudding. One of the best desserts I have had, so rich and moist and the clotted cream was perfect to cut richness of the pudding. Highly recommend!
Came on a reservation on a weeknight and it was good I did. The place was full. I got led into the table right in the middle of the main room, which didn't look bad for being underground but the room was very noisy (room also didn't have anything to dampen noise). My friend checked and it was at 85-90db for the whole time. I feel bad for the waiters who are likely to get hearing problems from working in such a loud place. I personally quite liked the rib eye which was not tough at all though my companion more used to steak found it mid. I was not a big fan of the bone marrow sauce but casually liked maple bacon. Fries were decent but nothing special (though ordered separately). I didn't care much to drink alcohol on the day (particularly supermarket bottles of beer) though I couldn't find a soft drinks menu so ended up having a glass of wine. This probably contributed to the bill totalling 200 GBP for a good food and a bit of drink for two though in a loud and busy atmosphere. I probably won't be back but it's not a bad place.
WOW! Absolutely loved the Hawksmoor. Everything about it was perfect. We came in a Saturday night without a reservation. Though extremely busy they were able to fit us in at the bar area. A Perfect spot!! The Ceasar salad was delightful as the dressing was homemade and very tasty. The scallops were DIVINE! We will be dreaming about them for awhile. The porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection. So glad we came here! Next time we will be sure to make a reservation.
100% recommend. I had a lovely night out for dinner at the Hawksmoor. From start to finish, the food and service was excellent. I had a seasonal kiwi cocktail, lobster and creamed spinach. They also serve the best sticky toffee pudding. The staff were excellent, especially Tika who attended on our table and had a very friendly and cheerful manner, ensuring that we were well taken care of. My husband and I truly enjoyed dinner at the Hawksmoor and look forward to returning again.
Food was amazing but the waiter was somehow very aggressive? I guess he wanted us to have more food. He was very adamant on how we NEEDED at least 900grams of steak and we declined at least 3 times for him to get the idea that we wouldn’t be able to finish it. My husband had to raise his voice a little as he was somehow being a bit aggressive??? Passionate??? At the weight of our steak, and he stopped. Thank goodness as the other patrons were just wonderful and the food was amazing. Great place overall. Definitely get the scallops!
We chose this restaurant for a birthday celebration and overall had a mixed experience. The atmosphere was fantastic, with a welcoming staff that gave us a good reception upon arrival. However, we noticed there was no background music, which was a bit disappointing as it could have enhanced the ambiance. The starters we ordered were amazing, setting a high expectation for the rest of the meal. For the main course, we all opted for the fillet steak. the steak itself was normal nothing’s special , I was underwhelmed by the presentation - it was served on a plain plate without any sides. Although extras were available for order, it didn't impress me as I was expecting a more complete dish. the dessert we had was really good and ended the meal on a high note. Despite the mixed experience with the food, the welcoming staff and great atmosphere make this restaurant worth a visit for a special occasion.
We had never experienced a Sunday roast in England before even though we’ve traveled there many times. I did a lot of research and this restaurant did not disappoint. The cocktails and sides were extra and certainly worth it, but if you just wanted to order the roast dinner itself. It’s reasonable and absolutely delicious.
Best beef Sunday dinner ever!! Amazing first time ever at Hawksmoor!! Been wanting to have a Sunday dinner at any of the venues for ages and finally got to do it yesterday and it did not disappoint. From walking through the huge doors and being greeted by the friendly front of house staff we were seated promptly and had water served and drinks orders taken within 5mins. The staff are incredible and extremely attentive without being over bearing. All had great conversation and humour, must have been served by at least 5 different members over the 2hrs. Super causal vibe but nothing casual about the food! The rump was to die for, cooked to perfection and tasted sensational. Roasted garlic, sweet carrots, greens and roast potatoes made it a hell of a plate with the giant Yorkshire. Gravy was as good as mums and again next level Finished with the sticky toffee pudding which was insane All in all a thoroughly amazing experience. The benchmark for how all eating out should be Bravo
Recommend the bone marrow and onion.
Went for an bday meal with my mate today 20/12/24. Amazing meal. Our waiter was brilliant. Wish I d got his name. very funny and amazing service the food was quality! Worth every penny!
Make a reservation, its very busy. We especially appreciated the kindness of one of the waiters. Excellent Chateaubriand beef.
Brilliant night, a lovely treat before Xmas! The service at Hawksmoor is always impeccable. A huge thank you to Paul our Dutch ( ) waiter who made our night really fun! Merry Christmas
Whilst I would love to say I had an outstanding experience, sadly that was not the case. The food was beautiful and the flavours were perfectly balanced. However, the experience was soured by the staffs attitude, they were rude and distasteful, making myself and my family feel rather uncomfortable. It is a shame because the food was 10/10.
Fantastic Golden Sour coctail
Cool place, good food and lovely staff. Unfortunately I got food poisoning from the scallops. I couldn t take my flight I had to book an extra hotel for 2 nights and I missed some appointments. Not what you are expecting from places like this.
Absolute perfection. Staff are amazing as is the food. We always go to Seven Dials and enjoy the buzzy atmosphere
We went there for the Sunday Roast and although Im not a meat fan, it is possible to order a la carte. I had the grilled monkfish and it was excellent! My companion had the classic Sunday Roast and enjoyed it! Fast service, typical and rustic decor. Very generous portions.
From the moment you enter it is very enjoyable. One the best steak restaurant in London. The best quality steak and cooked to perfection. It has a good wine list but if preferred some good beers and cocktails. Waiters are friendly and very helpful which makes the whole occasion a great experience. Don t forget if booking for a Monday you can ask about taking your own wine and pay only £5 a great way to really enjoy yourselves. December 22, Its always a good test of a restaurant, l continue to visit Hawksmoor and again a superb time, great food, friendly staff and super service.
3rd time here, and its just so so good. Love the steak, cooked to perfection! Bone marrow was divine. Both the fries and chips were tasty! The oysters were also so good! The only downside, if any, was the lightning. Otherwise, 10s across the board!
Cocktails were great. The cuts were not up to expectations sadly. This is the second time I visit Hawksmoor but both occasions the meat was overcooked and dry. Spaces were packed and no hanger for jackets.
Generally considered our favourite Hawksmoor, weve been here so many times weve lost count. Try the Chateaubriand medium rare, one of the best texture and flavoursome steaks in London, and weve tried many.
Its OK. But we were kept waiting 30 mins for a table despite having booked, then another 40 minutes for the food. Rump steak was overcooked. The acoustics are awful due to the brick ceilings, so dont expect easy conversations across a busy table
Excellent steak.
Went to Hawksmoor recently, and honestly, it was such a letdown. The cuts weren t what we expected, and everything was seriously overcooked. For how EXPENSIVE it was, it just didn t live up to the hype. Do not bother.
Ive tried many steaks in London, from cheap Flat Iron to Steak Company, but this was the most delicious steak. As for the price, if you want to taste this high-quality meat in this high-end atmosphere, you have to pay twice as much in Gangnam or Itaewon in Korea. I tried the rib eye sirloin sirloin (medium) and it was very delicious. The wine is Malbec by the glass.
Fantastic moly and Ryan. Unforgettable, best cocktails ever!!! Thanks
Great food, great atmosphere. The cocktails were also great.
I visited this place because my favourite Korean celebrity was here a few years ago. Genuinely good food and equally great service. The steak was just , the lobster was decent (not as incredible as everything else, to be honest) and the sticky toffee pudding & the chocolate waffle were fantastic. Pricey, surely, but justifiably so given what they offer. Will definitely visit again when Im back in London.
Called to make a reservation and was given a tentative hold for a corporate event with 3 weeks notice. Was told I d be contacted to confirm within 48 hours. We went through the menu options. Not only did they not call me back in over a week but when I called to check in there was no available times. Do not recommend.
Amazing food, amazing service! This is my favourite Hawksmoor, great setting
The woman at the reception is very rude and never smiles, she is very bad and I dont know how she was put in this job, she is the worst person I have ever seen in London.
Chateaubriand was fabulous. Service was good until it wasnt when we were moved to the noisy bar after 1.5hrs to free space for the next diners.
Everything from starts to finish was excellent definitely will be returning
Came to have a lunch with friends, Nuria and Fran were our waiters they were exceptional! Great knowledge about the menu and wines and amazing service. Will definitely be back!
Best steak I have had and brilliant service. Been there twice so far....
A fantastic high quality Sunday roast with impeccable service. I was informed they do 600 lunches and 300 meals in the evening (quite easy to believe when you see how popular it is!) so it is impressive how much of a well oiled machine the service and quality is
Brothers birthday, fantastic choice. Sunday roast was immense and a sausage and mash side....? BEHAVE YOURSELF. Lovely staff too 10 / 10
Beautiful fillet steak
Good steak, good sides, would recommend
Couldn t have been better.
Service is nothing short of excellent. Food ranges from good to wonderful. However, not the best châteaubriand Ive ever had. Very tough and a bit fatty, which is the antithesis of what it should be. We were also charged for a drink that we did not order. Didnt notice until after we had paid, so check your bill.
Roast lunch was the best I have eaten anywhere. Dinning area a little crowded and loud, service 5stars and cocktails to die for Kid-friendliness: Made to feel very welcome and smaller plate of roast no problem
Excellent rump steak!!!
Honestly the worst restaurant Ive been to. Disgusting behaviour. I would never return here even if it was free. All it takes is one member of staff to ruin your night and experience. I had the table booked for a long time to meet friends. I must admit we were excited and on the loud side but not acting ridiculous or smashing glasses or being stupid. We were told twice to be quiet for laughing loudly and the last straw was a female member of staff with glasses and brown hair telling us shed call the police among other things. We still acted accordingly I said we d pay up to that point but we are leaving. Honestly i have never been kicked out of a restaurant in my life and its such a shame staff cant see the big picture. We went next door to Temper and were treated like kings. What a shame i wish i had this girls name. She should not be in hospitality. Obviously the world we live in today. If i was rude id be the first to admit it but genuinely gutted by how we were treated. Disgusting.
Our first time here - excellent service and tasty food. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend or return. Staff were attentive and helpful without being overbearing.
Two overcooked steaks very disappointing. we were served by at least five people staff were constantly trying to top up our drinks as soon as we had a sip incredibly annoying for a steak restaurant the meat wasnt the star of the show disappointing and very over priced had better cuts of meat at Miller and carter wont be returning.
Went here for a family birthday recently. Aside from the desserts (excellent) and the monkfish the whole experience was very disappointing. At £45 for a rib-eye steak i was persuaded to order, i did not expect it to be tough, cold and oversalted (all three steaks we ordered were poorly seasoned) . The service was amateurish, the place overcrowded. I have no wish to return.
I went for lunch and instead of getting the set, I just ordered steak and two sides. The steak is tender, the Caesar salad is neat, and the mushroom sauce with garlic is amazing. For the sauce, I used cornpepper, but you dont have to order it. Craft beer was also good!!
Steak, steak and more steak, cooked to perfection!
Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free chips and fries Food
Good ribeye, great portion of side. Tasty and delicious. Love the win selection and service. Food : 5/5
Lovely food; great service, They did mix up the preferences of the steaks but it was a large table, overall great time Food
This was a fun spot with super friendly waiters, great steak and immaculate old fashioned s
I was disappointed by the grilled bone marrow, taste was too plain. I like oily taste but it had just it, nothing else. The beef steak and the dessert were not bad but nothing was special. It s very loud in the restaurant. Food : 2/5
Very tasty
Service was great, visually the atmosphere was very nice, but it was extremely loud.
Disappointed with the quality of the steak. Poor disorganised service
If there was an option to give more stars Margaux and Elly deserve much, much more. The cocktails are out of this world, food is delicious, the staff is amazing. I highly recommend to visit it.
Went for lunch on a weekday with my friend. The food overall was tasty. Bit disappointed by being told that our mains are ready by the waiter when we were just half way done with the starters. Felt that we didn t really have a choice cause obviously the mains (rump steak and hake) are ready to be served and they won t taste as good if they just sit and wait under the heat lamp. The table was kinda crowded by starters and mains because of that. I was under the impression that the waiters will communicate with the customers and kitchen (like judging by how quick or slow the customers eat/ ask the customers if they are ready for mains in 10-15mins for example) so that there s a comfortable break between the end of the starters and the start of the mains. There were about 10 customers in total during my meal so I felt this could have been avoided. If the restaurant is really busy and lots of orders at the kitchen need to be fired then fair enough. Hopefully the service will get better.
Came here for the sticky toffee pudding!!! SOOOOOO unbelievably worth it. We were very lucky to get a table for two as a walk-in at 9pm on a Saturday, definitely make a reservation! This is a great spot for drinks and dessert after dinner. The sour cherry negroni was excellent as well.
Great location, which is easy to reach with public transport. We came without a reservation and were welcomed warmly and seated at a nice table in the middle of the main room. We went for the 600g Châteaubriand for two with peppercorn sauce and fries on the side, as well as a red wine recommended by our server. The chefs met our requested doneness perfectly, and we were satisfied with our food and wine. The atmosphere was a bit noisy, and the tables were slightly cramped, but the tables themselves were generously sized. I liked the general design of the restaurant. Ultimately, we were happy with the experience, but we couldnt stop wondering why you would cut a steak for two guests into 5 slices. We would visit this or another Hawksmoor restaurant again. Thank you for the service.
Fantastic Steak, service and sauces! Oh and the creamed spinach.
Really nice interior and atmosphere with even nicer and attentive service (thanks again to our host Adam). The food was excellent. Our best dining experience during our stay in London. Food
Amazing service and attention
Top notch food here, attention to detail on everything. We had hake, chicken and various steaks and all were delicious. It s a noisy, vibrant place.
Outstanding preparation of beef dishes, attentive but not annoying service, great vibe. Also, if server recommends a new cocktail - try it! We had a fabulous dinner for our last night in London. Highly recommend!
The best Sunday roast in London Will come back again. Food
Service was great! Food was ok, expensive for an average steak.
Had such a great evening for a friends birthday yesterday. We had two waiters, Eleanor and Colin, who elevated the whole evening for us. Eleanor knew the menu back to front which made choosing steaks and sides super easy. Our glasses of wine were never empty. She was often checking in on us and filling our glasses and really lifted the whole dining experience. Colin was witty and friendly, and made us laugh while serving our food which again took customer service the that next level. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the oysters were fresh and tasty. Cocktails were great as was the wine. Overall the whole experience exceeded expectations and am eager to visit again.
Chateaubriand was way too dry and tough to chew. We ordered medium, but it came out more like well done. Same goes for ribeye The staffs were great, but the steaks were a definite no Food
I recently celebrated my birthday at Hawksmoor Seven Dials with my boyfriend, and overall, it was a fantastic experience! The service was outstanding attentive, friendly, and thoughtful. The staff really went the extra mile to make our evening special. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The ambience was nice, though it was a bit louder than we expected, making conversation a little tricky at times. However, it didn t take away from the lovely time we had. We ll definitely be back for another great night.
A steamed steak restaurant that brings out the flavor of each part of beef well. They also recommend food considering the customers tastes and are very friendly. I understand that reservations are required because it is a popular restaurant, but I was lucky enough to walk in and get in without waiting. And its not a big drawback, but its a bit noisy because there are a lot of people around.
Incredible food and service. The waiter recommended a really great wine and even added a little candle to the birthday dessert. Will definitely be back!
Original tasty stake... Just enjoy it .. After four (4) years , we are , again , back to the wonderful taste and amazing tastes in this our lovely restaurant! The food , personel and the atmosphere here in the restaurant is amazing ... Michael 2023 is a lovely person to help you with the menu ! This Year Vlad also was a beautiful person and help us with the great menu... We will come also the next year !!
Great evening, top notch ribeye steak with bone marrow, scallops were lovely too. Great red wine. The waiter was spot on, really attentive and really having a good time. Happy days. It s a very expensive meal but sometimes you ve got to treat yourselves.
The waiters were knowledgeable and were able to advice on the different cuts available. The ambience of the restaurant helps to unwind after a busy day.
If I could give 10 stars I would, excellent welcome, excellent service, sublime food. Highly recommended, top notch
Sorry not for me sat us in a corner with hardly any light and not much room. Waiter was nearly sat on our table while taking next tables order. waiter talked us out of everything we asked for.had better in London for far less than we paid.in short we won t be going back.
An underwhelming £300+ Sunday lunch for two; it s fine to charge top prices if you can provide an experience to match. Our booked 2pm table wasn t ready. (Fine, it happens ) so we were told to head to the bar and wait. Bartender not interested in serving anyone, but we eventually managed to interrupt his housekeeping. Do you want water? he asked. Erm, yes, I suppose. He got us two waters then walked off. We managed to get his attention a second time to order two martinis. By 2.15pm we hadn t heard from anyone so we ordered a second round. Almost immediately, a manager appeared and said our table was ready so we cancelled the second round of drinks, to the bartender s visible annoyance. Upsetting customers before theyve even sat down is quite the achivement. The lovely, pleasant waiter explained the delay had been due to the restaurant rearranging the seating plan overnight, and subsequent confusion among staff. There s a whole section of the menu dedicated to oysters, and we ordered some to start, plus a bottle of red wine. Waiter returned to say the kitchen didn t have any oysters, so we had to choose a different starter. Also, it didn t have any of the wine we ordered, so we had to choose another wine, too. We chose a second, then the waiter returned to say they didnt have any of that either, so we ordered again on the waiter s recommendation - a £77 bottle of valpolicella that retails for £25-£30. As we were finishing our main, we were asked to move to another table in the bar area as our originally-allotted two-hour time slot had run out (ignoring the delay to getting seated). We finished our wine in the bar. On getting the bill, we discovered we d been charged £5 extra for roast potatoes (the waiter asked if everything was ok with our meal and if we wanted anything else, and we d asked if we could have a couple more roast potatoes ) as well as the drinks while waiting for the table. We got in touch with feedback about waiting almost 20 minutes for our reserved table; in response, Hawksmoor offered us a free drink on a future meal but said we had only been seated 13 minutes late. Besides being a petty response, it was incorrect as I clearly remember waiting until 2.15pm before even discussing whether to order a second drink, so it couldn t have been any earlier than 2.17pm. If the energy and attention to detail spent on charging customers or mistakenly quibbling over the length of their inconvenience could instead be spent on ordering in supplies or generally getting their stuff together, the experience would better reflect the price.
A busy Wednesday night and the only table available was in the bar. Sat at a table at the bottom of the stairs so everyone walking by and crafty! Food took along time to be served, and hour, and it really wasnt worth the wait. Nothing really unique about it. Was disappointed and wont be visiting again anytime soon
Very good meat, but the price is overrated, not quiet at all, impossible to agree
The server I had was amazing he was full of life and so bubbly. I think his name was Paul, he made my night more enjoyable credit to him, he needs a promo 10/10
Came for drinks Friday. Nice atmosphere and helpful staff. Shout out to the chap with head tattoos - very welcoming and accommodating.
Great service, very attentive and nice. Despite not having a reservation we got a seat at one of the high tables. Sunday roast was nice, entire atmosphere was great!
Its ridiculous lol (Its not steak, its chicken, Jonna Tam + its very short) This is what I got after waiting for 30 minutes..? When I asked why it was to blame, I was told that it was like this. Is that correct?
We had a lovely experience at Hawksmoor Seven Dials! One of our group had an issue with their main and while this was resolved, she was offered a starter while waiting and was also given all fresh sides when her main came back. Our waitress, Floriana was incredibly attentive, kind and helpful - and made sure we were very full before leaving! Thank you Floriana and the Hawksmoor team.
Excellent steaks. Service was good.
Always love whichever Hawksmoor I have been so far.
Always amazing.
Excellent drinks, food, and service.
Good
Food was amazing very filling and also did not take a long time for the food to be served, and also Alberto was an amazing host and he gave us a lots of recommendations for the stakes and sides, I was very impressed with his service and advice he gave too which gave a welcoming environment
Beautiful place to dine! The service was exceptional. The food was great overall, but the steak was average. Nonetheless we would go back as it was a great experience!
Walked in for lunch on a busy weekday, seated promptly and took care of my luggage. Had a really delicious meal with great service. Not my first time at this location or Hawksmoor in general and as always another excellent experience.
I ve been to the hawksmoor in Canary Wharf which was excellent, so i expected similar food and service here. My steak was overdone, and I ordered 2 rib eyes but I m pretty sure I got 2 rump steaks instead (there was no fat cap or eye, and the steak was much tougher than a rib eye. It definitely wasn t a rib eye). The waiters don t wear a specific uniform, leading to us wonder why random diners were talking to us before realising that they were staff. It lacked the flame cooked taste that hawksmoor Canary Wharf did so well. Overall really disappointed.
delicious
Came for the roast! Stayed for the pudding best sticky toffee pudding in town! Food : 5/5
Really cool place always wanted to come here, cocktails very small the food well Yorkshire pudding was cold, couldn t cut the potatoes also warm meat was ok abit hard. Stuffing and veggies were lovely the sticky toffee pudding was FABULOUS, I would come again but would send the food back next time if it was lukewarm/cold.
A steak restaurant with a casual yet pleasant atmosphere. The Sunday roast had a good composition and grilled meat, and there was a diverse lineup of beers.
I recently visited this restaurant to celebrate my partners birthday, and unfortunately, the service left us disappointed. We had requested a dessert with a candle, something we saw all the other tables receiving, but our table was completely overlooked. It seemed like our waiter was more focused on other tables and forgot about us entirely, which put a damper on the celebration. The food was okay, but nothing special, especially considering the poor service. Honestly, I would have preferred dining at the Boughrough location, where weve had much better experiences. This visit just didn t live up to our expectations.
Delicious meal and friendly staff.
Had a brilliant time here, service was great, food was outstanding and they could make a decent old fashioned. Would definitely recommend to others
I went to Covent Garden and stopped by for lunch as it was lunch time. This is a place where you can eat beefsteak casually. The atmosphere is just casual and a bit hectic. The music is loud and distracting.
Great atmosphere, super cosy, reasonably priced and some of the best sticky toffee pudding I ve had!
Ate here Saturday afternoon. This is my 5th Hawksmoor visit but first to this branch Had the prime rib to share, mac and cheese, tun worth mash, beef dripping chips and Seasonal greens. All was fantastic as always. Ended on peanut butter short bread which is always a favourite
Fantastic Sunday roast! The beef was so flavorful!
just celebrated our 5 year anniversary and had a perfect night. Eri, our server, was super kind, accommodating and had a beautiful aura! the food was fantastic with perfectly cooked scallops, mid rare ribeye and sirloin, and even the drinks were absolutely delicious. the venue is loud but that is to be expected. i highly recommend eating here
I m from the U.S., so I m used to American steakhouses First of all, the smallest cut of bone-in was 900 grams (31 ounces), which seems ridiculous to me. And at GBP 12.50/100g. Steaks do not come with any sides (in America, you get a starch and a veggie), and the only cooked veggie side you could order is cabbage or spinach. I m quite frustrated that there were no options along the lines of broccoli, asparagus or green beans! This place came vehemently recommended by a local and, frankly, I m deflated. Steak was only so-so, not worth the snuff paid for it, especially when all you get is a steak with no accoutrements. Restaurant was pretty cool though. Maybe pop in for a drink, but I would suggest finding a better steak elsewhere.
Enjoyed very much my visit to Hawksmoor seven dials.. everyone work in this magical place from the lady manager to the front desk lady are beautiful people.. waiters are out of this world too .. well done guys.. food top notch
I visited for a Sunday roast on the last Sunday of January. I made a reservation just in case, but the restaurant was already full of people. I think making a reservation would be a good idea to avoid wasting time waiting :) All the servers working are friendly. The restaurant was very large and there were many customers, so I was able to feel the exciting energy unique to London. Luca, who took my order, said that it was his first time eating in London, so he even started talking to me about how many days it would be there. The food was delicious too! The amount seemed small before I ate it, but when I ate it, it was really a lot and I was full...! The meat is delicious and the fluffy potatoes are delicious too!!
Thank you very much for making the evening very special Chefs did very good job food was amazing Waiting staff was always there when we need Food : 5/5
Excellent restaurant in this cute zone of London. Great atmosphere where enjoying a fantastic steak or burger. Shaky Pete cocktail is tasted.
olive. Chateaubriand Steak. Ordered sides (mushroom, tomato salad, mashed potatoes). I visited a steak restaurant because it was said to be a good steak restaurant. First of all, the atmosphere was upscale but very noisy. I ordered medium rare, but it was overcooked. Angry! :( The food came out slowly and I was hungry so it was overcooked, but I just ate it.
My cousin recommended this steakhouse so I was obliged to check it out while visiting her home city! Overall, it was quite good but had some misfires along the way. Most importantly, the steak was excellent. I had the 300g filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection and complemented well with a side of creamy béarnaise sauce. The thrice cooked chips were good but the classic English catsup was underwhelming, just too watery for my particular American tastes. My wife is veggie and she usually fares well in San Francisco steakhouses because the sides are as compelling as the cuts of steak but it was not the case here. The creamed spinach was sadly mediocre, like what youd find at a family-style buffet restaurant or something heated up out of a can. The Mac n Cheese was a bit better, albeit with a little helping of salt and pepper. Both our salads were disappointing, Id pass on the traditional tomato salad and classic Caeser; they tasted like they were made by a someone following a recipe book for the first time and definitely absent of any locavore mindset. My cocktail selection was superb, I had the Manhattan for two (for one) and both the presentation and quality were wonderful. The drink was served premixed in a chilled glass flask with old fashioned glasses, rock cubes, a slither of orange peel, and maraschino cherries on the side so you can pour your own from the staple elements. I loved the experience and the flavor of the classic cocktail itself. Service was quite good, our server was polished and attentive in his approach. My wifes second drink took a long time but otherwise, everything was on point. Overall, quite good but definitely some room for improvement around the edges. And the edges do matter, its what separates the good from the consistently great. 9/4/14
My third visit and food is as good as usual, helpful and friendly staff and made to feel welcome.
Best stake I have ever tried. Literally an amazing experience. Recommend it to everyone
One of the friendliest, happiest and most well attended meals Ive had in this part of town for many years. We were eating early, pre-theatre, and chose the set menu which was so generously proportioned we couldnt manage pudding. Food perfect - especially the steak frites with both meat and chips to actually die for. We were served by a few different waiters, all charismatic, charming and attentive. Vlad, who welcomed us, was so lovely we wanted to take him home. This team really knows what theyre doing.
Very large restaurant. Reservation is recommended. The only thing I didn t like was too noisy during my visit.
Steak a little bit overcooked and I feel like the noise level at this location is a bit high (particularly compared to CW). Nonetheless, overall very solid place, as usual.
The food is of a very high standard and the meat (as youd expect) is cooked perfectly to your requirement. Good menu, not huge but more than enough to give you choices. I personally prefer this as it means what is on the menu is done fresh. Everything I ordered was very nice and the bone marrow gravy was crazy good. Even better than the bone marrow gravy is the service. The service is exactly what perfect service should be. They are available and attentive but not over bearing. Ester (manager) and Anna (sommelier) made us feel like superstars. I cannot get any more excited about this if I tried (and I have). If youre in the area and you like steak you have to go see Ester & Anna. Enjoy
Beautiful restaurant with superb staff. Food was delicious, drinks were heavenly. Would recommend
Place is unbelievable! Everything we had we loved and the staff is super accommodating and knowledgeable! Can t wait to visit again
The food you have to eat when you come to London is Sunday roast, so I made a reservation by email and visited around 12pm on Sunday. The meat was moderately tender and very delicious. The meat and sauce are delicious. But I think the bread would be better if it had strawberry jam or something on it. The atmosphere is good and the man in charge of us is very active. I felt it was very kind. Should I call him kind or delicate? When I finish drinking water, they keep pouring it. Later on, I felt a bit sorry so I didn t drink any water^^; Anyway, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is nice. If you are in London on a Sunday, it would be a good idea to visit~
DISGUSTED. 0/5 specifically for service and atmosphere. Didnt even get to try the food as we were completely ignored by bar and waiting staff after repeated attempts to call to their attention. Just not really the level of service i expected from such an established brand or establishment, but there you go. Strong Avoid. Especially POC.
Easily the best service I had in london - staff could not have been more knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The summer lunch special is Booking system is easy. Great vibe / atmosphere and respite from the hustle of the street.
A beautiful evening accompanied by delicious food and lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately we did not receive the celebration plate as previously agreed however this did not impact our experience much as we were very pleased with everything else. We ll be sure to return :) Food
My husband and I ate here for dinner one night while visiting London on our honeymoon. Our experience was absolutely brilliant ! Hubby had the ribeye and I had the sea bream. The sides of creamed spinach, mushrooms and sweet potato were mouthwatering ! The service was exceptional and the atmosphere brought a cozy yet sophisticated feel to it. Its definitely pricey but 100% worth it. We would absolutely return! 6 years later, this place is still amazing! Jude was an outstanding waiter. Highly, highly recommend for an exceptional night out.
Unfortunately was let down by Hawksmoor we celebrated dinner for our anniversary the steak was over cooked and the overall quality you expect from here was disappointing.
The atmosphere was really nice, but I was disappointed to hear that everything I ordered was sold out... First of all, the meat was delicious, of course, but it was a shame that I couldnt personally see what I was eating because it was so dark, perhaps because of the atmosphere or because of the place...
Ok, so the prices are pretty wild, even for London, but they re clearly displayed, so don t go if you don t like! HOWEVER, the steak was the best we ve ever eaten and the fries (I know it s just chips, but I love chips!!) were also the best I ve had, cooked in beef dripping, but still sooooo crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Bit disappointed not to have a draught beer and serving lager in a can just felt like the only low class of the whole experience. Finally and just as importantly, the service was top notch. Our server was very knowledgeable, friendly, engaging, but also very professional. Deserves every last one of the 5 stars.
The place is loud, very loud. You have to shout to make an order or to speak to the person next to you. Should have requested a table near the bar, its was much quieter there. Food looked very nice, but was extremely disappointed when I cut the median rare fillet I ordered and found out it was butchered, well done with a very slight pink in the middle. Having already waited for nearly 1 hour four our food, I decided not to return it and ate anyway. Also, the sides, was told they would be enough for 1 person and a half. Maybe its me, but McDonalds small serving of fries had about the same amount of fries I was served. Very disappointed of what should have been a good experience of fine dining. The other people in the group also felt the atmosphere was lacking, and the food was just OK, but not worth the price tag.
5 Stars I recently celebrated my birthday at this wonderful restaurant, and the experience was fantastic. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel very special. The food was out of this world. We had roasted scallops, lobster, monkfish, and T-bone steak. Each dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The scallops were perfectly cooked, the lobster was tender, the monkfish was amazing, and the T-bone steak was top-notch. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely, providing a great setting for a special occasion. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and a nice ambiance made it a memorable evening. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Its a gem and I cant wait to go back.
Chateaubriand & Rib Eye Steak . I must say that the steak is superb. Everything is seasoned with balance and the fries have the right level of crispiness. The staffs are super friendly, they are willing to do everything to make patrons feel comfortable and very attentive to our table. Food
I visited on June 27th. The reason I am writing down the date is because it was my first trip with a friend in 10 years and I visited on his birthday. I let him know in advance that it was his birthday, but he probably thought I lied because of my poor English. There was a birthday event at another table, but we did not receive event service. I was disappointed. Still, I was given a seat in a good location, received good service, and left with a good meal. We had a T-bone and it was a decent portion for two women. Its a bit overcooked, so even if you cant eat medium rare like me, I recommend medium rare.
Always a great place to grab a steak! Has a ribeye on the bone and it did not disappoint
Extreme small portions, far too expensive, left the restaurant with empty stomach @130£ each person (280 total)
Steaks and main dishes are perfect though, the cocktail did not reach my expectations. I had 1 cocktail and 1 non-alcoholic, both were not well shaken.
Fantastic sticky toffee pudding! Quite possibly the best we have ever had. Staff were very helpful and friendly - and very accommodating even when we asked to just order drinks and the sticky toffee pudding. Great service, great food, would highly recommend.
The staff is so friendly and the food is delicious!!!! here The pudding was also crazy! Absolutely recommend
Honestly, this was one of the nicest diner out Ive had in a while. From the atmosphere to food, but service topped up like golden dust. Hard working staff, that even if busy makes time to explain everything. Sérgio and Prom, delivered all the energy and knowledge to us (Two guest with multiple different dietary and they new it by heart each element) Absolutely great, the whole team!!
We had a lovely meal and great service on the 5th July 2024. It was at the Hawksmoor Seven Dials Covent Garden. The food was fab and the service was excellent and very attentative . Would definitely recommend this restaurant. Will go again
Very nice steakhouse in soho. The staff was friendly and respectful of privacy as well, always striking the good balance. The meats were delicious and cooked to our different tastes. It is a good address for a slightly upper market celebration meal. Food
Great Sunday roast, would recommend the nicer cuts rather than the standard rump. The stuffing side was so good we ordered another.
I visited this restaurant for lunch on June 1, 2024, at noon. This was my second visit. As usual, the staff were friendly and provided great service and a pleasant atmosphere. The food was nice; we ordered the three-course and two-course Express menus. The chocolate tart for dessert was delicious! However, we were overcharged by £25, which detracted from the experience. I contacted their customer service and was promised a refund via bank transfer. After two weeks of waiting, I followed up on June 19 but received no further response. Its now been another four weeks, and the refund still hasnt been issued.
Perfectly cooked ribeye. Perfect everything. A better atmosphere than at Goodmans Food : 5/5
Experienced appealing and rude behaviour by a staff member there! Tantamount to racism and discriminatory behaviour!!! Upsetting experience
I have been eating at Hawksmoor for a number of years and Seven Dials has always been my favourite. This dinner was disappointing:- - Food took about 40 minutes to arrive, no forewarning about this or update as we waited - Tables packed so closely together that each time the waiter came to assist the table next to us, we had his behind almost knocking our drinks over. Very unsettling and interrupted us numerous times - All of the side dishes are now absolutely TINY, certainly not large enough to accompany a full size steak, we almost had to ration them - We said no thank you to dessert but were going to ask for more drinks. Before we could do that someone had appeared with a bill and the card machine. A very abrupt, conveyor belt, end to dinner Hawksmoor used to be a great choice for a solid meal but next time I ll be going elsewhere.
Amazing cocktails Paul took good care of us
Food, drinks and staff are amazing. We left a phone behind and the staff, particularly Catherine went above any beyond to return it to us. Made our night.
Appetizer: beef bone marrow, scallops Main course: Rib eye, Chateauriebeau steak Delicious, highly recommended!
We came for a Sunday roast as a party of four, they only have one option for roast on the menu which is beef but it s easy to see why as they have perfected it, we also ordered some sides of cauliflower cheese and stuffing which were great! The staff were really helpful and accommodating the whole time. I would definitely recommend for a Sunday.
What a lovely restaurant the food is Absolutely amazing I went for the lunch menu that reasonably priced went for Flat iron steak, Café de Paris ... £23.00 beef dripping fries, steakhouse salad & Tunworth Royale patty melt ... £16.00 gherkin ketchup, mushrooms & shoestring onions but I think it s only for a limited time. Also I would like to add the staff are very friendly and helpful would definitely be returning to try other items on the menu
Reservations recommended. I went for the Sunday roast. You can choose the degree of grilling. The meat, especially the Yorkshire pudding, was big, fluffy and delicious. They also added some gravy. Even though its called a Sunday roast, it has a more sophisticated atmosphere than the one served in pubs. If you want something other than beef, or if you want something like parsnip as a side, going to a pub might be a better option for a typical Sunday roast. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was so delicious that I finished it easily.
Food was exceptional, specially the bone-marrow dish it s a must, portion of the food was great for sharing. Ambiance was nice and quiet. Food
Tough and sinewy, though my friend and I ordered different doneness. The steaks were hard to cut and my medium rare was more medium well. The sinewy couldnt even be cut at all. Too high of heat and too fast. Could taste the burnt pieces outside and the sear was too deep into the steak. They took off the steaks from the bill but when they took away the plates they also took the sides which we paid for... we were still hungry so we needed to go elsewhere for food.
Went here Monday 27/05. We ve reserved a booking at 12:00. Staff at the reception was really friendly at went straight to showing us our table. Not just the staff from the reception who was approachable and friendly but all their staff were friendly, knowledgeable and it made our lunch pleasant and comfortable. After sorting out everything, we had a quick talk with Taki explaining the restaurant and that they have a published book for their recipes in the restaurant. I took the opportunity to ask how to cook the garlic mushroom(side) I had ordered. I didn t find it in the book but Carolina kindly sent it to us via e-mail and I m really thankful for that. Paul was kind enough to be in our service. We ordered drinks first, and then ordered starters and mains since we were starving. For the drinks, I ordered the non-alcoholic one, which was the Shirley Temple. ( I loved it, especially with the cherries on top) I had to ask Paul if I could top up the cherries after I finished the first batch. For starters, we ordered Hawksmoor Smoked Salmon and Bone Marrow with Onions. I was not able to taste the salmon though. But one thing I can say about the Bone Marrow was it was tasty and has a very unique combination. It was so full, and the onions compliment the bone marrow. It has a bit of sweetness (from the onion) and saltiness which is the perfect balance. I was already full from my starters. Had to adjust my stomach so it can fit more food. For the Main, we ordered the T-bone medium rare 650g. When it was served I was so excited. They have explained each side of the T-bone. Sirloin and fillet. It was cooked beautifully and you can definitely appreciate the pinkness and tenderness of the meat. I preferred the sirloin part since it has a bit of fat compared to the fillet but it was really melting in the mouth and you can t really resist having more from it. You don t need a sauce from it as well. Good for sharing as well (2person). For the sides, we ordered Beef dipping fries and garlic mushrooms. The fries were cooked well and it was crispy with their intended taste. For the Garlic Mushroom, I can say never miss ordering this side. It was delectable. It has some buttery salt taste, with other unique combination of ingredients in it. I was really loving it and if I wasn t full enough, I would have ordered a second batch of the Garlic Mushroom. For dessert, we ordered their Sticky Toffee Pudding. I have been always a fan of sticky toffee puddings. It s always my first choice of dessert when eating out. The sauce was sweet, balanced with the pudding and topped with cream. Loved it all the way. The ambience and the vibe of the interior were elegant. The bar was separated from the dining area. It was a comfortable experience with no pressure. Because every staff was really capable and approachable.
Really cool steakhouse bridging old school and modern cocktail room vibes. Super friendly staff and fantastic food. Not sure what they put in it but truly the best creamed spinach Ive ever had! Take note though - Sunday roast is only available before 5pm on Sundays!
Lovely place, polite and helpful staff. I had a Sunday roast which was delicious.
Amazing food. Ordered the 400g Rib Eye which was cooked medium rare. Cooked to perfection bone marrow on top was to die for. Yum. They even gave me a completely dessert for my Birthday. Can t wait to come again for another celebration.
The place in central london for quality steak. Great sides, drinks, dessert. Service is top notch also.
Always delicious steaks, super friendly and attentive staff, great atmosphere! Highly recommended.
We had dinner there on our 1st wedding anniversary. Before eating, we had a drink at the bar. A lot of things about the food were explained to us at the table (after the waiter realized that we were from Germany, he explained everything to us in German), and there was also very good advice on drinks. The food and drinks were excellent, even if not the cheapest (but we knew that beforehand :D). Dessert wouldnt be necessary because of the feeling of satiety, but we wanted to try it out (it was more than worth it). Overall we were very satisfied, the only criticism would be the noise in the location.
What a great setting for a restaurant, centre of Covent Garden s, food was great, enjoyed the Prime Rib and Grilled Bone Marrow with a nice bottle of Red.
I have been here before and I will go back in the future. Awesome restaurant even though the service was a bit better before the COVID. Probably it is harder now to find people with good hospitality experience, but overall it keeps getting 5 star for me. I suggest going together with more people so you can order different cuts of beef and share together.
Rather disappointing meal- steak was overcook, a bit burnt on the outside and not juicy on the inside. Peppercorn sauce didn t go very well with the steak, would prefer salt and pepper. Not worth the price (chateaubriand). Waitress kept coming to rush us to order even though we told them that we were waiting for friends or people clearly just sat down, too pushy.
I visited Hawksmoor Seven Dials for lunch yesterday with my family. A couple of us had the Sunday roast which, at £28, seems like great value and somewhat offsets the rather more expensive (but delicious) Chateaubriand which others of us shared. As expected, the food was excellent. The portions of the Sunday roast were generous including possibly the largest Yorkshire puddings that any of us have ever seen! The Chateaubriand was cooked to perfection - so succulent and juicy. If I was being picky, Id say that the roast beef was rather touch and chewy. We also treated ourselves to pudding. My son had sticky toffee pudding which was divine - the best he or I have ever tasted. My daughter had the sticky toffee ice cream sundae which was equally good. The service was a little mixed. Our original waiter was good and the maître-d was extremely helpful, easily and happily accommodating our request to move tables as the main hall was a little loud for my partner. Our waiter after that was not so great - inattentive, not overly friendly and kept us waiting for long periods at various points of the meal. That was a little disappointing when so much else of the food, service and atmosphere was really well thought through and executed.
I recently dined at this restaurant and had an amazing experience. The salad was fresh and flavorful, the cod was cooked to perfection, and the chips were crispy and delicious. The combination of these dishes made for a truly satisfying meal. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a tasty and fulfilling dining experience.
I was given a gift card by my students parents. I was a little worried about sitting by myself but the staff made my experience such a memorable one
I had Sunday roast and sticky toffee pudding. The staff was very friendly and the food came out quickly and was warm and delicious haha.
100% the best British food experience. On top of this, the service is impeccable and Luca is so attentive and friendly. 5 stars well deserved.
Absolutely fabulous. Amazing food. Fantastic staff. Well worth a visit. Food : 5/5 |
Meat was ok - we shared a 1kg prime rib which was cooked right (medium rare) but it lacked flavour and also was quite though in places. The sides of mac&cheese, chips and Caesar were good. The problem was the service. Confusing from the beginning we had 4 people asking the same thing. We were asked twice about beverages, 3 times about starters. Someone told us about the meats, promised to come caco with info, never came back, had to ask two other people the same thing.. well you get the gist. Also, we only ordered meat and sides, no starters and it took around 45 mins to arrive at the table. After asking the waiter, saying that we ve been waiting 45 mins, he came back to say it was actually 39 minutes and it was almost ready. Wow. Just wow. Overall it was too expensive for what I received.
Best experience so far, such a wonderful service from Pietro, Florianna, Francisco and Rosanna who have made everything spot on for my 27th birthday! Definitely recommend Food
Just had dinner here. Paul was amazing. The woman who took our bill less so. My son was 18. No cake just liquor! And the server taking the money no smile or even thanks! She needs a new job!
Came here as a party of 9 for my birthday and everything was impeccable. We tried so many cocktails and dishes on the menu and every single one was perfect!
