Their poutine is amazing. The prices are great and affordable and yes you need to have cash on hand (ATM machine available to grab cash if needed). There are always cars parked at the restaurant and the customer service is wonderful. Very fast service as well. It is my new go to place when I want hotdogs and fries/poutine.

It is amazing,they provide you with a lot of cheese curds and gravy. The chicken tasted great as well. I spoke with the shift manager because I was curious to know why don't they accept even interac. She said this is a small local business in town since long time now. She herself has been here for 25 years. Accepting cards takes a cut which has significant impact on their cash flow as they're not a big franchise like McDonald's which is ironically right nextdoor. The portion size is amazing and the small poutine I ordered was great and I was full after eating it . I'm going to try the chicken burger next. $12 for the petite (small) poutine - and it’s massive ! The most cheese I’ve ever had on a poutine , I couldn’t believe it. Squeaky, real quality curds. The sauce is on the tangy side and I liked that. The staff are not friendly but that adds to the flavour lol this is a must try for a classic poutine !
We specially made this pilgrimage to this gem of poutine. It is not a secret that the best cooking has to start with the right treatment of the basic ingredient. Alfa used fresh potato and made all the right steps to turn it into the best country style French fries in house. With that, adding on a good supply chains on cheese, gravy , smoke meat and hot dogs to create its menu. Alfa is not like other restaurants, it provides its customers with a generous portion together with a low price. Even more interesting, Alfa is sticking its business on cash bases transaction to help keep the price low. Customers will not have to face the question on tips as electronic transactions are not available. This is actually a good tourist experience for those who are willing to get out of Montreal in quest of the best Quebec poutine. We enjoyed the best poutine we ever had in Quebec, and we will be back next time to bring in visiting friends.
The special submarine was really packed with meats and nicely topped compared to other places. The portions were really generous for the price you pay. The regular and Italian poutines were delicious and packed with squeaky cheese. It was worth the trip as we do not live in the area. We will definitely be back.
We enjoy leaving the city to quest for the best. Especially poutine and burgers. Sometimes it's just better the farther you go. To this end, we visited the renowned casse-croûte The excellent classic poutine there definitely lives up to the hype. Everything was as it should be: the wonderful gravy, cheese curds, and perfect fries. We also indulged in their incredible chicken burger and the essential Michigan hot dog.
A decent place if you want to satisfy a craving or just enjoy a good old poutine. The portion are very generous. Only hic is the cheese that was a bit too chewy. The service is quite fast, so even if there’s a line things usually move very fast.

The best poutine on the South Shore, or even the entire metropolitan region! Quality rhymes with quantity: the regular poutine satisfies the biggest appetites (very generous portion!), the sauce is good and the cheese: quantity as well as quality, you wont run out of cheese at the end guaranteed! And what s more, the staff is always super friendly! This is not a well-kept secret: there are lots of people at meal times, but the team is efficient and fast, even with a line stretching outside, it always moves really quickly. You will have understood: I highly recommend it!
Two months ago and the hot dogs were hard and the bun didnt steam and I went back this week and threw out the poutine because it had a red substance... and we also threw out the hot dogs. -dog they were still hard and not cooked... Too bad for a restaurant that was previously so good and impeccable... they lost loyal customers because of the quality of the food. I clearly do not recommend this restaurant unfortunately.

I think the police should come to this place from time to time, during peak hours, to see the circus that takes place there, especially around supper time, This place is dangerous! especially on weekends. Vehicles that park anywhere, even on the road where you are supposed to be driving or stopping at a red light, its not possible! The customers of this place are ready to do anything to have this micro hot dog sandwich! twice when the lights turn green and I turn to the right to enter Chambly, a car on the other side of the road cuts into the continuous line out of nowhere without even making a little eye contact or me notify of his intention to cut, really crazy quickly! All that to land in the alpha hot dog parking lot

Amazing poutine! Huge lineups but very fast moving. 7 or 8 people in line ahead of us and we still ordered and got our food within 5 minutes. Would go again! Parking: About a dozen spots to park, but the plaza beside it has plenty of spaces.

The best poutine around is there! I drive 45 minutes to get there and I regret nothing every time! The poutine format is filled to the rim. Crispy fries and fresh cheese and their BBQ sauce is excellent. My boyfriend loves their 1/2-1/2 poutine (BBQ and Italian sauce) I recommend! :)

Im from Quebec, I was passing through Longueuil for a night and I had already heard about the good poutine. Let me tell you that I am not disappointed I had asked for spaghetti sauce but it was saved ordinary but no problem it was still very good and the cheese I always take the extra cheese poutine and I swear to you that this time I will got my moneys worth I really recommend it and my Mochigan hot dog was very good too Parking: Grant parking the super its next door

Poutine is very good if you like it sweet... there is too much cheese but you are able to remove some. The rest is according to canteen standards. The only big problem is cash only with an old ATM in the corner like in the bs places who want to make extra money on your bill in addition to encouraging you to put the change in the tip jar in addition to being able to playing with the numbers at tax time... they say its to speed up payments but everyone does paypass now so its just as fast if not faster... whatever... its 2024 anyway!

I tried their poutine, which they are known for. But i thought it was just okay. Yes it has a lot of squeaky cheese, which is great. But their sauce is light and flavourless. The fries were too mushy. The price is 12$ with tax.
The place had been praised so much for being one of the best poutine restaurants on the South Shore. A bit disappointed. A place with 90s decor doesnt take any service cards. A little expensive for what we got (a fountain liquor for a little over $4) and the poutine was good but not my type, lets say. Good amount of cheese, but it is not very tasty and the sauce is very salty. In short, I dont really understand why the buzz around this place

What can I say other than I simply love this place!!! The staff is always smiling, the food is always number 1 and the poutine is just the best ever because their sauce is extraordinary!!! This is to say: it is even good reheated and yet I usually hate it to die lol so my advice is to buy a big one to bring home and 1 to 2 dishes of sauce and the next day you have a portion of poutine that you will sprinkle sauce generously and put in the microwave for 5 minutes. Your cheese will be melted a little but youll see its almost better than when it comes fresh from the restaurant! Parking: Little space technically but that of the maxi is available Wheelchair accessibility: Narrow passage but possibility of moving the tables.

My first experience with my son and friends at Alfa Hot-Dog and we really loved it. A truly succulent poutine with a generous portion of cheese curds, it was worth the 45 minute drive. Bring your own money if you dont want to pay the independent counter fees, thats the only downside.

La légende de Longueuil ne déçoit pas. Un restaurant comme dans le temps avec une recette classique. Restaurant à lancienne avec les commandes dites au micro, le vinaigre aux tables et les napperons du bon vieux temps quon ne voit plus beaucoup. Bonne sauce légère, frites croustillante et fromage qui se tient dune squicksquickicité très appréciable.

I had very high expectations for the poutine, but I was unfortunately disappointed. Decent fries and sauce, nothing more. Positive point: cheese in large quantities, fresh and quite good. The smallest size is still big for one person. A smaller format would be appropriate, in my opinion. Good price. Cash only.
