La Récré Restaurant in Longueuil

The first time I went there, the Poutine was delicious and the portions were very generous! In addition, the owner made sure that people were welcomed, there were people there and it was fun! Oh and the prices were good too! The last time I was there, the prices had increased. In addition, the portion was reduced and the quality of the fries was lower. No one greeted us, it was like arriving at an American fast food counter, not a Quebec one. The restaurant was also practically deserted... Not at all lively... Anyway, I dont know what happened, but it doesnt feel like the same place at all.

A first visit to this restaurant We went there on the recommendation of an acquaintance and I must confirm that it is really excellent. A poutine that is served with a large quantity of cheese... good fries and a very good sauce. The burgers are also excellent I recommend this family restaurant without any hesitation

I love the family atmosphere that reigns at Récré! And what about poutine! Among the best I have eaten. Abundant and temperate cheese, tasty and crispy fries and the sauce has a very interesting little secret. It is also very thick to wrap the cheese and fries without getting them wet. Thats not always easy to do. The service is really good and friendly and the people in the kitchen are really smiling and chat to us as if weve known each other for several years! I went for the first time this evening having a taste for poutine. I DID NOT KNOW WHAT awaited ME...BE ADVISED... Seeing another customer only order spaghetti sauce, which seemed excellent to me, I decided to have an Italian poutine and let myself be tempted by the desserts. Everything is homemade!!! Know that not only is their cuisine homemade but you are welcomed as if you were arriving in their house! Its better than making it yourself...and what about the desserts...OMG! Spread the word but not too much...I want me to have a piece of the pie left

Change of ownership. Since then, there has been no lunch. I went there mainly for that. I will go elsewhere from now on, like Le Coq du Quartier which also recently changed hands.

Their poutines are in the top 5 in Quebec! And I agree! Its the best Ive tasted! All good things come to an end because Saturday July 27, 2024. I went to this restaurant and met the people who took care of the place and I found it strange that they were sitting among the customers! ? Well, I found out that they sold the restaurant and the new owners were there to serve us lunch for the last time because they wont be doing lunch! But I can already tell you some opinions, the atmosphere lacks SMILES! And me and my wife waited 35 minutes to receive our lunch for me it was 2 sunny-side up eggs, sausages with roast potatoes I had specified without fruit or tomatoes well I received the fruit and one of my egg yolks was exhausted. My wife asked for a cheese omelette, She received scrambled eggs no cheese. On top of that, my wife has never received another coffee like they do in all the restaurants... In any case very disappointed with this change of owner and the whole team (cook, waiter, waitress etc.) Its day and night.

I had pretty high expectations for their poutine after receiving many recommendations. The gigantic quantity of cheese (too much for me but to each their own) was there but the sauce and fries left me wanting more. The price is more than reasonable for the quantity of portions. Nothing to say for the service or the atmosphere for this type of establishment.

Personnellement, je trouvais la sauce un peu trop salée à mon goût, mais il y en avait en quantité suffisante. Je préfère les frites un peu plus petite. Je recommande quand même d aller l essayer. Le personnel est très courtois. Je leur souhaite du succès.

On the other hand, for an order error because an employee misunderstood that my partner wanted a regular Italian poutine and not a regular poutine, we were treated to a scene from the cook, she was extremely angry and she made everyone extremely uncomfortable! Very disappointed I asked for 2 well-cooked yellow eggs received cold, 2 pieces of bacon I had the brunch plate with unbuttered bread plus I witnessed a fairly mediocre atmosphere between the Cook and the waitress and even saw the Cook respond stupidly to the waitress and several people made a comment so Im going for lunch not to hear arguments and comments between the Cook and the waitress and to eat a good lunch like before in a family atmosphere

I discovered this restaurant through poutine addicts on Facebook yesterday, I went today, you cant find a better quantity/price ratio, its to die for, and not only is the poutine made up of 50% cheese, but whats more, the submarines are the best Ive eaten in my life, the spagetti is also excellent, because yes, I ate 1/3 of my poutine there, but I had a take out of spag and a 14 submarines for the home to try, its downright incredible, a place run by a very nice family, you feel at home there, I highly and highly recommend it! Excellent homemade desserts to finish! 7 out of 5 stars

We went last week, I hesitated to give this review but Im still overwhelmed by the mediocre experience, so here it is... We take 2 baby poutine and pogo trios.... after say 10 minutes of waiting, I realize that the fries are still not in the oil... once in, they must have been there for another 10 minutes at least ... then we see that the girl only takes out 1 pogo.. my boyfriend says to her: excuse me, I had 2 pogos in my order. She responds in a funny tone: Well, I hadn t seen him, sir!! ... so even more waiting.... Then she puts 1 pogo in the microwave to put it in the oil for 1-2 minutes... if the 1st pogo was in the oil for 10 min clearly that if not wasnt going to be ready in 2!! As everyone expects poutines, they make like 8 at the same time in different formats... in mine Zero sauce and the useless mountain of cheese with a slightly safe taste.... for the famous 2nd pogo, just enough thawed to chew and spit out... it gives the impression that they do not know their dosage of recipes, cooking time and heat of oil and hob and the waiting time of customers... Kitchen odds and ends and a really weird atmosphere... I understand that its a local family business but clearly it requires updates to the equipment, the staff, the operation in general etc... its a completely failed experience and money in the trash... too bad because we love encouraging this kind of canteen.

I went there for the famous poutine, it is good and very generous in cheese, the sauce is different with a little spicy side for fun. Canteen that looks like nothing from the outside. Old school atmosphere and very friendly inside. Friendly, courteous and chatty staff. VERY generous portions. Lots of cheese in poutine (see photos) I had a regular one with a side of onion rings, and I barely took half of my plate. I was able to bring back the rest. Worst experience in a fast food restaurant... first time we went to this restaurant we had heard very good comments but unfortunately we will not return there again... Context me and my girlfriend ordered take out it took about 30 minutes before receiving our things seeing that customers served after us were being given their things before us I asked if they had received our order by showing our invoice... the lady said no and she will do it right now so we are still waiting... during this waiting time we noticed several unhygienic things coming from the employees including the cashier who received the money in person going to check if another customers soup was hot enough in the microwave to do this she dips her finger directly in the soup second thing another use in the kitchen which wipes the nose and forehead with her hands without gloves and takes cabbage directly with her hands and squeezes it to remove the juice to put it in another customers hot dog... my girlfriend and I were discussing it together that we would never come back to this place and what seemed to us to be the owner heard us talking about it and told us to leave insulting us and yelling at me to shut my mouth all this in front of the other customers. He told me we have clean hands here and that despite everything we have seen so I really dont advise you to go!

I was very disappointed with my visit to this small neighborhood restaurant. I went there for poutine. I chose to kill two birds with one stone by having a baby poutine and a Michigan hot dog to taste the spaghetti sauce. For the poutine, the portion was good for a baby. Decent sauce, brown sauce style, with a ton of cheese. Way too much in my opinion, because I was reaching for my fries at first and once I finished the fries, I had enough cheese in my bowl to make a second one. The spaghetti sauce has a smoky taste which I dont like. We ate there and waited 45 minutes for a mini pizza and my meal. Our place at the counter, overlooking the kitchen was not a great experience. The atmosphere was heavy between the 3 employees who were trying to serve the people who were alternating between orders to take out and meals on site. Steep and rude comments were heard which made our experience unpleasant. The cook really isnt always nice to the older man and woman who do their best to serve everyone. Because of all this, I will unfortunately never go back. The food was not wow and the ambiance unpleasant. Many people passed by during my presence and noticed my points mentioned above.

Being poutine lovers, me and my boyfriend stopped at this popular restaurant for their excellent poutine. Arriving there, we waited 45 minutes for 2 trios, a regular poutine with bacon + a regular poutine + 2 hot dogs. We were in a bit of a hurry but we told ourselves it was worth it. The trios then arrived, we started eating and we were very disappointed; Everything was bland, both the hot dogs and the poutines. The bacon was VERY bad, it must not have been fresh. I gave 2 stars for the waitress who gave us excellent service, she was very nice.

We came from St-Hyacinthe to try their famous poutine. We arrived 4 minutes before closing and despite that, it was the warmest welcome weve had in a restaurant and it was by far the best poutine and the one with the most cheese weve eaten! The Quantity/Price ratio is just as incredible! Its a must!
