Ate here alone lately, maybe a week or two ago. It wasn't my first time eating here but it had been a while so I decided to try it again. You have to enter the back of the building, and the menu is outside as well as inside so if you are not satisfied with the prices you don't have to awkwardly leave the restaurant, perfect for the social anxious. not that it would be much of a problem, the prices are great for what you are getting!! upon entering I was greeted by a sweet old lady and she was very accommodating when I asked to to be seated further away because where she wanted to make me sit it was too cramped. she served me a glass of ice water and even put the jug right next to me! the wait was long maybe 15 to 30 mins for the meal with no Wifi but its definitely worth it! The portions are great and the food oh so delicious!! so delicious it made me like the (surprise!) mushrooms in my stir fry when I usually hate mushrooms.🍄🟫 it was chicken that melts in your mouth, delicious veggies that imbibed with the sweet and sour sauce, served with a side of vermicelli and a weird crunchy fried rice thing i forgot the name. The guy was a bit cold but he wasn't straight up rude, maybe he was just shy like me.🤷🏻♀️ Anyways upon paying he didn't try to sneakily slip an overcharge of a few extra dollars like some other family owned restaurants tried in the past with me like that pizza place one time. I calculated everything in front of the menu at the entrance and it was exactly what he charged me, very convenient and right. I gave them 5$ tips on my 20$ meal plus 1,30$ on the Buddha for good luck🪙🍀. anyways this review is getting long but all that said I would DEFINATELY recommend!!👌🥰💜
That place has been awesome for a while. Great food. Great staff. A repeat anytime
Great food, slow and average service as well as amazing prices for the food provided Be patient and it's worth the wait
Really bad service. I don't mind waiting but I do ming getting ignored. Especially when there was only another 2 tables with people : they ignored us and made us wait a long time when we wanted to get seated, then again when we wanted to order, and again when we wanted to pay. Food is so so
Do not bother going here. The service is beyond bad. We waited over 45mkns just for soup. Then an other 35mins for the main dish. Also food was terrible. Too many uncooked frozen vegetables. If I could give no stars I would. Also goodluck with parking.
The food was like nothing I’ve ever had before. The flavours are so good!! I tried 3 different dishes over a week and it was all delicious. I couldn’t get over how good their soup broth/flavour is. Price is also very reasonable.
Don't let the exterior fool you. This place is one of the best Vietnamese places to eat around Montreal. The grilled beef was melt in your mouth delicious, the grilled chicken was succulent and the Rouleau imperial was fit for a king. Prices are very decent and the soup was delicious too. Definitely going back here soon to try more items on the menu. Very happy customer!!
Chez lien offers a quick and delicious meal with good service and a bring your own wine option. They serve a variety of meats and their spring rolls and imperial rolls are mouth watering. Their peanut butter sauce is also great especially with the chicken and vermicelli noodles. I would reccomend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a last minute semi casual date night or just to curb that Chinese food craving. Quality food. Affordable price and good service.
The employees are very welcoming and kind. The food is excellent and there is a calm atmosphere. Thanks to the whole team first time summer and I will be back for sure!
The food is delicious for the price its worth it. For the people who complain about the service, dont forget that the owners are two fairly old people, its somewhat normal that the service is sometimes long. Especially since they both seem to be alone. But the wait is worth it.
I adore One of my favorite restaurants
One of the worst restaurant experiences in a long time. The food was excellent but the rest... The floor was so dirty and sticky it looked like it hadnt been washed in years. It was cold throughout dinner, one person in our group ate with his coat on his shoulders because it was so chilly. When it was time to serve, they came to fill half the table and the other half we all stayed with our empty plates. I had to carry my plate myself to ask for the dessert menu. They did not come to ask if everything was correct with the orders. They didnt come to ask us if we wanted dessert either. The service time was acceptable considering there were 14 of us and it was busy. Restaurant and people ordering take-out. The owners (I imagine) were the only ones employed for it. Service. There was clearly a lack of staff. Also they didnt speak French to me.. A chance there. Food was good but miserable, I will never eat there again. For takeaway I guess its ok.
This unpretentious Vietnamese restaurant serves inspired and delicious cuisine. The chef owner has been there a long time. The atmosphere is dull, but its up to you to party there. The food is excellent. You bring your wine and its time to have fun!
The wait is very long and illogical in terms of management. The meat is overcooked and the rolls are tough. The taste is bland.
Excellent service and food
Cleanliness of the place which leaves something to be desired, I ordered a general tao...never seen that in my life a general tao with large mushrooms and I dont like mushrooms and the breading of the chicken was very soft, while s its supposed to be crispy and taste like old fried food...I went back immediately for a refund, a won tong soup a general tao $28 he gave me back $20 being super aggressive and threatening to call the police ..could never and I recommend it to anyone.ha yes and I called to order, I waited 30 minutes before going there and then I had to wait another 30 minutes and there was no one in the restaurant...really unpleasant experience and the boss is very rude and aggressive, to avoid, it was the 2nd and last time and we see that they are messy when entering the restaurant, tables and chairs stacked all crooked, it looks dirty...
My first time I have been in Lonqueuil for over 40 years I was skeptical at the entrance but when we started to eat the magic happened well done good experience I will recommend it
When the meal is served hot its crazy! Its like playing Russian roulette. Sometimes its nice and fast and sometimes its unpleasant and very slow, but its worth it. I like to live dangerously haha.
Super good... Generous, tasty soup... What can we say about the very delicious chicken and beef.. Review Upgrade July 2024 The Master of Lions of grills... The exquisite sauce on the chicken and beef... Havent found a better place yet... Generous portions and the best fried bananas... Would be ideal with two scoops but hey were stretching it pleasure while saving on the ball
Very good combo Wheelchair accessibility: No there is a staircase of a few steps
Very good place. Always perfect. Parking: Small but go across the street to Place Longueuil
Excellent food, well done!
Good food and very good service
40 minutes late for take out. 1 hour in total. 0 to serve.
Love it dont believe the hype its realy good !
This is a great Vietnamese bring your own wine concept. The dishes are very affordable. The food served is plentiful and excellent. The portions are accessible. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff are smiling. The owner is on site and offers great service too. Vegetarian options: Several soup choices Dietary restrictions: Food for diabetics Parking: Large parking lot
The food is good, the service is good. The waiting time is really long. But if you have good company, then it is a good opportunity to spend time with your loved ones.
It was good but it was cold
Rolls and beef phô is very tasty. Bring your own wine .
I liked my experience. The food was very good and so were the prices.
Good and cheap
I discovered this restaurant a month ago and its always good every time I go there. I had just had surgery, I was in the sixth basement and no joke their lemongrass soup put me in a good mood. Its like the best soup Ive ever had in my life and I usually dont like soups that much. We tried the general tao chicken, peanut chicken, a combo with shrimp and chicken skewers and their seafood nest specialty and it s 10/10 every time. We always took takeaway
Impeccable food but the service leaves something to be desired.
Excellent service! I had the New Years special. It was delicious.
Excellent food, very good portions. Very reasonable price, service ok nothing more. Lots of people, not a place to have frank discussions, ok service without problems
Great restaurant
Delicious cozy atmosphere and above all very clean. To do again
Really good food but the furnishings are sloppy, not very beautiful, the atmosphere lacks music, I recommend it because it is the best Vietnamese restaurant on the south shore and in Montreal, the lady eats so well,
Worst place Ive ever been to. I know people are just working hard but it was horrible..
Excellent food. 11/10 On the other hand Cold service..... No smile. Sir, we can see that he is tired. Damage. Because he has just lost 2 customers.
Truly, one of the best grilled dishes Ive eaten in a long time. Extra soup, Combo C grills just Wow! I will definitely come back! Smiling at the service is not there but I think there is fatigue on the part of the owner and his wife who has a very bent back. I still managed to have a smile!!! Be kind and compassionate. It will do them good!
Best Vietnamese soup I have tasted in my life (homemade soup)! The imperial rolls were excellent too! I will go back very soon to try other dishes! Thank you Chez Lien for this wonderful dining experience. Plus it s really very affordable. Excellent and fast service, my husband and I arrived half an hour before closing and they really didnt make us feel like we were coming late. I would have given more than 5 stars if it were possible :)
Nice place for Asian dinner, they do their best to keep the Vietnamese authenticity but hey, its a clientele from Longueuil, Happy with my dinner
We went on a Saturday evening (this evening), 4 adults, 2 children. The dishes were lukewarm and arrived after almost 2 hours of waiting. The soups were excellent, the reason for the 2 stars. Little service, water and the plates piled up during the meal. After almost 3 hours we never had any service following our main meal, including coffee and dessert. My father asked for extra sauce for his General Tao and was told the kitchen was full! We will not return there unfortunately. People around us after 2 a.m. didnt even have their main courses and left.
Good portions for the price. Lots of fresh vegetables. Relaxed atmosphere and bring your own wine.
Its a family restaurant. There is always a waiter with a smile.
So amazing the best Vietnamese food in Longueuil
Food quality was good. The correct quantities for a normal appetite. We had a soup starter and a main course, I would eat it again! As for the service, we perhaps didnt have a good day, but it wasnt warm, lets say very very transactional. On the other hand, we had called before and our table was indeed reserved, we were still well served. Were still good for the price. Parking: It s really behind Petro Canada
My first time there and I seriously hope that they try harder for their table service because being completely forgotten by the waiter 1 hour of waiting to take our order and more is a long time
The food was very good. Our group may have been a cause of stress though. But we will definitely go back
good cheap and bring your own wine
I like it a little intimate and family at the same time cool
Everything was delicious! Sweet and sour chicken, chicken with peanut sauce, pineapple chicken and imperial rolls.
Surprisingly sophisticated, variety selection but delicious picturesque ambiance!!
Awsome restaurant
Great place, nice atmosphere, good food and good price, I highly recommend
We are used to Lien sur Sherbrooke in Montreal. As the tunnel is closed we decided to try this branch. This will be the only time. The soup and rolls seem to be made from leftover plates, foods that shouldnt be in the dishes end up there. General Tao didnt taste what he should. The imperial rolls were not edible and we took several extra. Obviously they only have the name in common, because the quality of service and food is in no way comparable.
2 hour wait for the service and Reservation at 5:30 a.m. and the first service at 7:30 a.m. First visit and last.
Excellent
Beautiful quiet place good value for money.
My general tao was served to me with outdated, if not downright rotten, pineapples. Ive been going there for almost 15 years and its now over.
We would order takeout more often if the containers were recyclable. The amount of waste generated is enormous for two people. I have nothing against paying a little more to protect our environment. Looking forward to seeing an improvement on this side :)
Excellent meal and service
I went to this restaurant tonight I found a piece of metal in my plate and the general tao chicken was not chicken but only crunchy fried food Very disappointed I dont recommend it to anyone
Warm, the soups are delicious
I must admit that the service is not always welcoming but I m a Regular customer. Bring your own wine and the price is very good . The food is always tasty and delicious.
I really dont understand the negative reviews about this restaurant. I go there about twice a month and each time I find the food tasty, the portions generous and the prices very reasonable!
The service is extremely slow but the food is good.
Food was really good and tasty. You can also bring your own wine or whatever you d like to drink!
Excellent quiet experience, low prices and very good food :)
I called to place my order in advance, I was told it will be ready in 15 minutes. Finally, I waited 40 minutes in the restaurant before getting my order!! And the gentleman kept telling other customers who called that it would be ready in 15 minutes... ridiculous.
Very good
I adore ! Very good, good quality and without breaking the bank!
Generous portions service a little slow but its good very good food and clean toilets we had a good time
Excellent taste
The size and price of the dishes are really a strong point of this restaurant. The soup broth is excellent.
Excellent cuisine!
The food is excellent, quick delivery service, slightly outdated decor
Alright
Disappointed especially as I am a regular at Chez Lien Plus in St-Hubert which offers remarkable quality. The vegetable soup is ordinary, the peanut sauce served with the spring roll which contains too much lettuce is much too diluted. Meal D, too, tastes good. I hadnt been here for 5-6 years, it was better then. I dont recommend it, sorry.
I ordered a combo D. Very good food! Good service. On the other hand, the seats are very uncomfortable.
Excellent food
Lovely place, very affordable and the food was delicious
Very good Asian restaurant! Generous and tasty portions. The only small point is the decor, which is a bit average, but its still clean.
Super good meal, reasonable price. Good service.
Foods great but for takeout the guy always says 15 minutes and you arrive and wait 15 minutes doesnt make sense they dont prepare it for you arriving defeats the point of take out
Good food and good service
Come early if you want your order before closing time. grocery time capsule upon ordering and dig it up when your meal shows up. Byob, expect an accrued value for your vintage by the time you eat. Great food, great prices but like grocery shopping, not the kind of thing you wanna do when your hungry.
Tasty and reasonably priced
Nice portion on plate
The restaurant is modern and clean. My dishes; The wonton soup and the curry chicken amazed me with the quality of the food and the portions were good. The service was average, fast but polite.
Not the best .but not horrible
Very good meal for the price
Delicious!
A must-have
Their Tonkinese soup is disgusting.
Take advantage of it, the take out is open
Pleasantly surprised! Soup, salad, roll, beef, chicken... All really excellent condition. My new favorite restaurant!
Still delicious even as take out
Dont be fooled by the exterior decor. The food is really excellent. Tasty dinner, very large roll and quite a bit of meat (tasty!) on the plate.
Its always good
Excellent!!!!
I love this restaurant! Always good and fresh! I recommend it to you! Prices are affordable and portions generous
Its good
Not very good, endless wait but decent food.
This is one restaurant to avoid. There is a long wait that is incrible, you sit at the table and they see you are frustrated and still they ignore you. The food was not worth the long wait. Avoid at all cost.
Good restaurant with some healthy food options. Great value !
Speed on the other hand not a big smile I had the impression of disturbing
Good food slow service dont be in a rush
Best Viet on the South Shore! I adore!!
From the outside it doesnt look like much, but inside its beautiful, clean and were comfortable as a couple or in a group. The service was good and the food excellent in addition to the low prices for the quality of the food. I recommend it to everyone.
Very good service. Very good meal. Excellent for the price it costs.
All Longeuil residents are nostalgic for Lien Longueuil. This is the best of all the Links and the scenery has never changed. A classic.
Great service. Good portions, a varied meal menu. All this at a low price. Dont be fooled by exterior appearances
Change the menu...chicken with peanuts is no longer part of the combo...nice atmosphere. calm
Poor service. I didnt like the egg roll as a starter and they dont serve fried ice cream even though they have it on the menu.
Very tasty the dishes are tender
SUPER GOOD!!!! You really dont need to pay attention to the outside of the place. The interior of the place is super well appointed and the food is all good Nice place for a date too
Really enjoyed it. It was very good! Were going back.
Best value for money in the area. The restaurant has done a 180 degree for the better, really better since the new owners and renovations
Great food, good price and love the funky retro decor
Nothing exceptional about the meal, average service.
Perfect for takeout.
Good food, good ambiance
Correct nothing more
The food is good but too much waiting, so long that we left without having our main course
Excellent food - Vietnamese cuisine. Introduction to this culture and food. Much appreciated by all three plus one members of the family.
There are not enough servers But otherwise its very good!
Good food, good price, good service :)
We discovered CHEZ LIEN at the corner of St. Laurent and Joliette in Longueuil....We love this place.!!! Combo F..so good!!
Might not be authentic Vietnamese food but its pretty good still
Price is very reasonable and food is always delicious. Dont go there if youre in a rush as the service for food not the fastest. If youre looking for good food and reasonable cost this is a great place to go.
Very very long service, there were 6 of us in total in the restaurant
A 4 star for a Vietnamese restaurant of this type. Good and tender food (grilled chicken, beef and shrimp), good vermicelli, very good soup broth, good fried roll and good fried pineapple. Good, fast service (there werent many customers) On the other hand, I didnt like the spring roll and neither did its sauce.
Very good restaurant at a low price, bring your own wine
Very good, but slow service
Clothes dont make a monk. From the outside it doesnt look like what awaits us inside. A good atmosphere and an excellent meal.
why is cauliflower with so many black spots on it? It does not seems like fresh.
Excellent customer service! Good prices, very good food!
Same owner for over 15 years, a real Vietnamese. The dishes are tasty and tasty. Courteous service sometimes a little slow but very relaxed atmosphere, I have never been disappointed.
Great dinner. But WTH you need to bring you own wine. I wish I knew this before I went.
Typical Asian restaurant, good value for money.
Very good now. Bravo for the changes to the menu and the kitchen
If the young man at reception could put down his cell phone that would be a big plus..
The plates are generous and delicious! The taste is very good and different from the other Chez Lien that I have tried! Hmmm
Still excellent after several years without coming... I enjoyed myself
Still so good!
Very good and good portion. Grilled tofu with peanuts. Yammmmm
Yummm and renovate everything
Had the general two and didnt enjoy it at all. Too sweet and too much batter ( 5 times more batter then chicken) however very nice dish presentation. Too bad the taste didnt match the presentation
Superbly good food and quick, friendly service
Service a little long but good food at a more than affordable price.
