May Garden Chinese Restaurant Sackville in Lower Sackville

Not a fancy place but good food and good service. They give you large servings too!

I love the food here but every single time we get a takeout order there is something wrong with it. Tonight were sitting at home eating our 6 egg rolls we ordered without any plum sauce because they forgot to include plum sauce. Definitely triple check your order before you leave. Ask them to unpack it and re-pack it in front of you.

Prices have gotten outrageous here last time for me ill drive elsewhere to save 20 bucks 16.10 plus tax for an egg roll and chicken fried rice and 6 chicken balls 9 something plus tax at another place I understand food cost but I think its just a little out of wack

Just moved back to the area. Best Chinese food before we left and still is! Service was ok.

Spare ribs were all fat couldnt eat them. No utensils as requested makes it difficult to eat a take out order. Pop warm. 4 small chicken balls, etc. Usually a good combo plate terrible tonight.

Spare ribs Dry, Tough,chewy. Not mouth watering for sure. Beef in other dish also very tough. Extremely SALT. I think they dropped the shaker in it. Not satisfied at all. Previously had some good meals there. Must have changed cooks or something. Time to take a brake from this location.

We picked up our Chinese meal last night. It was the best...always plenty of food...and everything hot and fresh. This is our 3rd time going back and we will go again. Thanks for the awesome meal!!

I love Chinese food, the food was great at this restaurant, great portions. However, even though the place was not very busy the waitress never came around to anybody at the tables to ask patrons about how is everything? or if the patrons wanted more water or whatever beverage they were drinking. I was served water once and that was when I sat down. However I can say that the waitress did ask a older male patron whom was sitting in a corner reading a novel if he wanted more coffee? he must have been a regular as she called him by his first name but she never asked any other patrons. I did Not tip her, because I feel that if a waitress/waiter went out of their way to ask patrons how their food was, or offered drinks or even at least make patrons feel welcomed then they deserve a tip, and well I base my judgement and whether or not I will tip or even come back to the Restaurant or not, is on over all service. Food can be good but service can be poor, well I would prefer both

Just ordered $100 worth of food from these guys. Man, what happened to this place? Will never order again. Food was gross. Threw most of it away. My food looked like it was yesterday s thrown away garbage. Very dissappointed.

There was a mistake in my order tonight but they kindly corrected the order. They double checked the order next time plus it had a sweet message and delievered it asap. Appreciate the extra spring roll too.

Asked for carrots in my beef and broccoli and they refused to do it. I won t order there anymore

I was on a quick lunch break. I ordered a lunch special. It arrived fairly quickly, but everything was still cold. My server offered to have it reheated, but I didnt have the time to wait. I havent eaten here in years. The restaurant was over-hyped then, and it still is.

Sad because growing up here, this was the BEST place for Chinese food. Now, the rice and noodles are bland, the stir fried veggies are barely cooked and flavorless, and the ginger beef / lemon chicken / chicken balls are breaded but drowning in a dish of sauce, so they are SO soggy and inedible. They also charge extra for fortune cookies now :( Will not be going back

Ordered a large amount of food for a small gathering. Surprised to see that when we got home we were given very small portions, especially of rice. We payed $10 for this portion and it was tiny - could only feed one person. I thought they forgot the rest of the food so when we called up the man said we should ve asked about the portions before. Chinese restaurants usually give you large portions of mediocre food but not May Garden in Sackville (small portions of subpar food). Way overpriced for what we got, and terrible service.

This was $100 worth of food and most definitely not worth it. Beware of sizing for the rice when you order. Bad service.

We are never disappointed when we dine at May Garden! I prefer authentic cuisine while my husband prefers Canadian-style Chinese cuisine. The staff is always friendly, the cooks eager to meet special requests and the restaurant is always clean and well-appointed.

Ordered take out and it was less than average. Very odd flavors in the food and the chicken was dry, dumplings were an odd texture. I would never order from this restaurant again. Yuck

Will never ever ever ever order again. Absolutely garbage food. The nastiest sweet n sour chicken balls ever. Pathetic because this place USED to be gem. 15 years ago. Last order I tossed after eating maybe 15%. Of it max.

The most incompetent and disorganized staff. Placed an order at 1130 am for pick up at 530 pm Christmas Eve. Arrived at 520 pm and waited for 40 minutes while staff walked around looking for the order saying I remember taking the order but I can t find it . After waiting for 40 minutes I left and went to my car and called and asked to speak to the manager and was told the manager was too busy. Worst service ever. I will spread the word.

I have to say . If you like Chinese food .well you have to eat here. The food is amazing and soooo good. We have taken friends there and they all love the food and keep going back. Erica and Amanda are amazing and make your visit very pleasant. The food is very fast coming out to the tables. Again never had a bad meal there.

Best Chinese food in Sackville!

The service is good and the food is really tasty.

Big sized portion we all had to get a take out container to bring the food home. I had to share a meal with a friend and we went splits on it and it was the perfect amount. Lots of options and a good size dining area. They also have a public washroom.

Never ate there until we moved to Lower Sackville and wow were we ever surprised at how good their good is. The quality and value you get is really outstanding. Love their chicken balls and fried rice and their shrimp is also delicious. Its so worth the time to check out. Almost forgot but their egg rolls are so tasty.

First visit to the new location and its a nice open, bright place. Fast service and friendly staff. The food was very fresh with portions from the combo platters being enough to take home for a small lunch. The only zonk for me is the price. Like everything else today prices are just too high. And unfortunately that means fewer visits during the year. Would I go again knowing the prices are high? Absolutely.

This was my go-to spot for Chinese food since I was a child. We got take out tonight, for the first time in almost a year, and it was not good at all. The rice was flavorless, the chicken balls were mushy and the eggrolls were a weird texture. First time I have ever been truly disappointed with their food.

The service was excellent, the food not so much. The meat eggrolls were beyond disgusting. They had a strong taste of pastey flour and not edible. This was my 3rd time back there since opening in their new location. We will not be back. They used to be the best around for many years. So sad.

Chicken in the chicken chow mein & chicken fried rice was spoiled. Absolutely disgusting.

Ordered online. Got DoorDash to deliver it. The sauce leaked out everywhere. Bag was tore soaked but that wasn t the worst of it. I ordered a chicken chow mein and got pieces of shrimp in the rice. I did not order that because I hate fish. Could not eat it. Just threw it out and went somewhere else. Very expensive supper. I wish they would reimburse my credit card but I can t see that happening. Will think twice before ordering from there again.

The service is always friendly and the food is always delicious. They also serve what I consider to be the best egg rolls in the province.

I had an overall great experience here, I ordered the beef and broccoli dish and it was excellent. I also ordered one of the normal egg rolls and their special egg roll. The normal was expected, it was tasty and enjoyable. The special one however has way too much going on in it. It has 2-3 different meats and shrimp in it, along with beansprouts etc. Just too busy of a dish. The staff were friendly and I will be going back again.

Typically this restaurant is a very solid choice. You always get more than enough food at a very fair price. Any night this place is timely and very high quality, however on Christmas Eve our order, and many others were well beyond an hour and a half late despite being placed hours in advance. So just keep in mind holidays are particularly busy, however any other days a very safe choice.

This was honestly the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Me and my girlfriend literally just through out most of our food. The rice was tasteless and dry, the chicken balls werent even fully cook, and the spare ribs were chewy and lacking meat big time. Would never recommend or eat there again. Cant wait for foolsins to open back up.

Honestly the worst Chinese food I have ever had... food was extremely over-cooked to the point it was hurting my teeth to bite into the meat and it was also very flavorless. Not only was the food hard and flavorless but I was also charged for 2 egg rolls that I never received. I only went here because my favourite place is currently closed and was beyond disappointed, will not be returning!

Worst chinese food Ive ever had. Dinner for the family cost $60 and everything tasted the same, like salt water, corn starch, and old broccoli. Everything was watery and flavorless, with the exception of the egg rolls which were soggy and filled with an awful meat paste. Ive lived in major cities in 6 provinces, and this is by far the worst chinese food Ive ever ordered. I work for a garbage company and the smell was so bad in my kitchen after 15 minutes that even I was feeling sick from it. 80% of the order went straight into the green bin before it even cooled down.

Food was barely edible and had to throw out 2 of 4 chicken balls because the meat inside was hard as a rock and super dark in color. Wont be going back anytime soon. They didnt even give me soy sauce in the bag!!

Ordered a noodle dish ( even looked it up to make sure it was noodles) what got delivered was just a bowl of bean sprouts and half my order was missing. Very disappointing

Wow has this place gone downhill. Or maybe they had a bad night. I used to eat here all the time when they were located on Beaver Bank Rd and always remember it being so good. We were in the area this evening so decided to try out the new location. Service was polite but they forgot to bring a few things to the table (salt, pepper and soy sauce). We had to ask for utensils because they forgot those too. When the food came, it looked so good but I was surprised to find that looks were deceiving. The Chicken Almond Soo Guy had no almonds and the chicken was very chewy and hard to bite through. Same for the egg rolls. They definitely tasted and felt like they were pre-cooked and just re-heated. Just awful. The rice was ok but it too seemed a little cold. I dont know if I want to go back.

It was our first time ordering from there and hopefully the last one. No idea how they have over 4 star review average. Won ton soup - very little meat in the won tons, lots of wonton dough. It almost felt like I was eatING lasagne pasta sheets dipped in very salty broth with soggy Napa cabbage. General Guy Chicken - it was awfully sweet, it was terrible. It landed in the compost bin, we could not eat it. Who adds so much sugar to this dish? Veggie fried rice was okay. Anyways, over $40 order was a big blow, waste of money.
