Terrible breakfast. Theb skillet was floating in grease. The eggs were overcooked. The toast was buttered cold and the butter never melted. The sausage suck. After $50 for two breakfasts I will not be back. Maybe stick to Shwarmas. The other two people with us said theirs were terrible as well. This cook does not know how to cook breakfast.

Owner was very friendly, he offered us a sample of the soup and took the time to explain all the dishes to us! Delicious homemade food at great prices. New favorite for sharwma place in Sackville. Will definitely be back again and again. EDIT: I did go back again and the owner remembered me and recommended a kebab and pastry to try. It was equally as delicious. This place should be rated higher, it seems a mob of angry people all left this place 1 star reviews a few weeks ago. 4 years later. Still absolutely delicious.

Food was ok. Service was friendly but forgetful. Offered coffee top up....2x and she never came back with it. Took our order....then cam back a little while later asking if we were ready to order. I would totally understand if the place was packed but there were 6 people in the restaurant. Not one of my favs

So very disappointed by this visit. The staff were vapid and couldnt answer a single basic question about the menu. Then the server brought over an smaller than expected portion of a poorly presented *cold* meal. We ate it. Then she overcharged me by 10$ on a 32$ bill (I watched her do the math by hand right in front of me and I had to ask for my 10$ back. I am not returning.

The food tastes authentic and amazing. There was enough food for breakfast and then some! I got the Syrian breakfast, my partner got the traditional eggs and rye! We loved both our meals and the Syrian flavours are just to DIE FOR. Highlights are the falafel and the garlic sauce oh my gosh y to the es. My partner is vegetarian and Roys has so many options. We will 100% be making this our place to go for breakfast whenever in Sackville. Also Megan, you made my day. Best server.

My mom and I have gone here twice once for breakfast and once for dinner. I am not disappointed Our server was wonderful and funny. She recognized us even though it s only been our second time in there and the food was fantastic. The last time I was in, I got steak and eggs, but I can t eat eggs and they gave me a substitute which was lovely. And I had the top steak shawarma for dinner and it was delicious. I d recommend going and trying this place!

We order through uber. I had a chicken Schwarma, my son had a chicken queasdilla. My husband had steak and eggs. My sons meal and my meal were so salty we couldnt even eat it. The fries were even gross and Im not a picky person We threw it out after two bites. My husband did say he liked the steak and eggs.

Another delicious meal from Chef Roy. My husband and I had the Chicken Souvlaki Plate. As usual, it was to die for! The chicken was so juicy and tender, the tabouli, as always was so fresh. The humus was so creamy and delicious. We can always count on Roy to serve tasty meals. Plus, his prices are fantastic.

The food was subpar, flavorless, kafta lamb kabob had beef in it and lacked any seasonings of kafta, Shwarma was over salted, and dry. Lentils and rice was dry and tasteless, and the chicken shawarma poutine used shred cheese and watery gravy

Great food and very quick service

Went for the first time ,had fish and chips on good Friday. Fish was under done..a bit wet and batter all soft. Fries were not great with some seasoning on them. But coleslaw was good. Customer service was good and a nice clean looking place when I walked in. Overall the poor food gave us a bad first impression and doubt we will go back.

First time there and it was amazing! The host is the sweetest and the food is delicious. The Cheesy Chicken Shawarma is to die for. Never had one before and I loved it so much. The Hummus was amazing too, so tangy and full of flavour. Not expensive at all either!! Very good affordable prices and they are worth it for a good meal Will definitely be coming back again!

We went for brunch and both of us had the breakfast special. Our first visit. Everything was great. Would recommend. We will return again to try other items from the menu.

I tried this place out and was slightly disappointed. The home fries were all mushy inside. The tea was not hot, but I loved the option of multigrain toast and getting hollandaisesauce on the srambled eggs. Back to Little Freemans for me, I think.

First visit - very impressed. Great menu - my husband had the daily special (meatloaf) which was good. I had the domain plate which was really excellent - super tender domain meat and perfect sauces. My 6 year old son loved the shawarma. We bought an extra donair plate to go, it was so good. Food was good and hot which is always nice to see. When a restaurant opens up not even 500 feet from your apartment complex, folks tend to take notice and talk. More often than not, its not just to try. Places come and go and the talking starts to fade over a couple of months outside of take-out orders. Roys restaurant is the real deal. My wife and I have been there for their delicious fish and chips and Ive taken friends here for the kickass breakfast to start the morning before we hang out on more than one occasion. If youre close to Lower Sackville, youd be out of your mind to let this slip past your radar!

I really had high hopes to try Roy s, I had only heard great things from family and friends who had been, but our experience was not a great one. Our visit started off on a bad note when one of the servers borderline yelled at me as she was walking behind me as I slightly adjusted in my seat to make sure my jacket was not a tripping hazard. Yes she was behind me, but there was adequate space to move between my seat and the nearest table, but, I chose to move my spot at the table to avoid being scolded again. We did unfortunately have issues with some of the food not being fully cooked (runny egg whites in two dishes), which Roy apologized for and promptly remade the dishes without hesitation, so kudos for that. As our server, who was lovely, asked the rest of us how our meal was while our friends meals were being remade, she was apparently too loud for the other server working as she promptly, and loudly shushed her from across the dining room. Overall we found the food lacklustre, and had the service experience been different we may have considered coming back and trying items not on the brunch menu, but seeing the attitude of the older of the two servers, all 5 of us left without feeling the need to go back. People have bad days, I can appreciate that, but to take it out on customers and coworkers is not appreciated. I can only hope others can continue to leave the 5 star reviews, but sadly there are 5 families who won t be returning

Okay, so the food tasted old and gross. I was bummed because theres not a lot of gluten-free options around here. I thought it was weird when the food showed up super fast because they clearly took 2 day old food and just popped it into he microwave. You know how your rice gets after being in the fridge a few days? I called to ask if that was normal, because I wanted to give them another chance and they were quite upset with me. My Mom and I went to Roys for the first time today and opted for the breakfast. So many options, including fried bologna! Might sound strange that this option made me happy, but, it tells me someone took the time to research maritime food and fried bologna is classic and Ive not seen this offered anywhere else. I still went for bacon, lol, but fried bologna next time. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the service was exceptional, the prices were great and we cant wait to go back! Im not a fan of spice as Im a spice wimp, but my boyfriend loves it, so we have the perfect place that will offer the best of both worlds. Too many choices to list here, but there is something for everyone. I highly recommend Roys for a great night out for family, couples or friends. You will not be disappointed!! This was an amazing experience! I remember going to Shawarma king in Sackville but then after it closed and moved, my family couldn t find a good affordable replacement. Now with Roy s restaurant we can enjoy delicious foods and desserts in HRM with an enjoyable atmosphere with kind and friendly staff! Recommended to people with all different food tastes and needs. Kid-friendliness: They include friendly meals to kids ages up to 12!

Ordered 2 meals which were 13$ each, with a couple of extra add ons for 2$ each, and im pretty sure I was over charged.15+15 plus tax does not equal 43$

The best shawarma in the Halifax area

From the first time I entered the doors at the Shawarma King, I was destined to return. The staff was friendly helpful and the selection of food prepared fresh was all I needed to know. Since I follow a pescartian diet, there were more than enough items on the menu to choose from. The lentil soup to the pickled turnip has tons of flavor. The food was prepared while I watched. Best shawarma that Ive had. Ive tried a number of items on the menu and they are all exquisite. The soups are exceptional, the wraps and burgers are divine. They have food for almost every dietary restriction. My only negative comment is that they dont have either coffee or tea to go with the meals, particularly for dine in.

Delicious food

I had a chicken shawarma plate and added 3 falafel, all I can say is wow. This was delicious and worth every penny! The chicken is perfectly seasoned, the hummus is so smooth and creamy, loved the salad! These have to be my favorite falafel Ive had yet! Thank you for being kind to my daughter as well! :) (I would have added a picture but I ate most of it before I thought to!! It was much more visually appealing when I picked it up! Haha)

I ordered delivery from here today and when my order arrived, there had been some confusion and due to Celiac disease, I was unable to eat my food. Although I had placed through Skip the dishes, I called the restaurant and to see if anything could be done. They were absolutely incredible. Without hesitation, they listened and immediately hand delivered me replacement meals free of charge. Not to mention, the food is incredible. I feel very safe knowing the care they put into their food and their customers. We have definitely found our new spot for breakfast and middle eastern cuisine! Been looking for proper middle eastern food for years and Ive found it. The garlic fries are so good. The garlic sauce is rich fluffy and vegan. Food was really fresh. Went for the falafel and chicken shawarma. Was offered a sample of the soup while we waited. Everything was 5 star. This place is a hidden gem. Just wanted to add the pizza is actual thin crust crispy pizza like pizza is supposed to be. Amazing.

My wife and I went to The Shawarma King today in Lower Sackville. First let me say the owner Roy treated us as if we have known him for years. A genuinely kind person. We both had a chicken shawarma which was absolutely delicious. Roy also let us try his new lentil soup which was a 10/10. I highly recommend the shawarma king. Delicious, affordable, very friendly!

I am very difficult with food and I have to say that this restaurants offer very high quality meal. Take a break from pizza, burger and donair, offer yourself real healthy food.

Been searching for good shawarma here at home since I left Ottawa. This is on par with some of the best shawarma I ve ever had. Wrap and plate were excellent. Falafel was also delicious. We ll definitely be back!

Best vegan takeout in town. Homemade, fresh, and fairly priced with plenty of options. I recommend the falafel poutine and vegan combo with the fatayer, tabouli, hummus and curry rice!

Had the falafel wrap with the Syrian falafel. I got his garlic sauce and the hummus on it, along with all the veg. It is the best falafel Ive ever had! Also, the man working was very polite and friendly. Love this, and I will be back!

Real deal shawarma. Disclaimer: I have only ever had the chicken shawarma platter (but I have had about 10 of them) prior to this review. Everything is fresh and bursting with flavour. One platter usually ends up being two meals for me so its a good serving size. The service is fast, friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.
