MediTerra Kitchen in Lower Sackville

I ve been twice now and between the food, service, restaurant, and all around eating experience are immaculate. Great spot for a delicious and affordable meal.

If I could give this place a smaller review then I would I placed a good sized order left a very generous tip only to get home and they neglected to main the main food. When called at 8:27 they refused to make the food because they re closing in 40 minutes and to go somewhere else. I wouldn t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Worst service ever

(*Edited)Used to be my favourite place. The bad part is now if you do take out they NEVER give utensils. Like if I am at work or in a park am I supposed to eat with hands? Speechless . Why I even need to ask for this, it is basic if I take out and same thing with uber orders, like I order and end up not able to eat because no utensils. Terrible! Based on your reply definitely never ordering from you guys again nor coming again and will recommend other not to also

Stopped in for take out, the server was very warm and friendly (didnt catch her name). I ordered a mix meat platter, tabouli salad, spicy walnut dip and calamari. The lamb chops in the platter were a little dry and overcooked but the lamb kabobs were perfection. The tabouli salad was okay. Everything else was good. All in all I would try again!

Second time eating there. This time with family celebrating my 85th birthday. There were shrimp skewers, lamb and chicken skewers. All 7 of us agreed that meal and service was outstanding. AND The Price is Right. we will be back

Great inclusive and accessible space. All gender washrooms, mobility aide accessible, and kid friendly. Kid-friendliness: Small activity cart with stuff to occupy kids. Childrens menu, extra diapers and wipes in bathroom. Wheelchair accessibility: No step up, bathrooms are accessible with grab bars and room to turn chairs around, open floor plan with ample space between tables.

Another great find in Halifax. Great flavor and taste. Great sized portions. Highly recommend. We will be back

MediTerra Kitchen is an absolute treasure on Cobequid Rd in Lower Sackville. Great food, lovely mediterranean vibe in the restaurant and prompt, efficient and friendly service with a smile. It s worth the trip and I d go back for a date or reservations for a group. I can t wait to try the patio this summer. PS: Easy access by bus AND onsite parking. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian and vegan options! (Try the lentil fingers) Kid-friendliness: The had a cart just inside the door with everything you need to distract a child!

We loved the simplicity of the space beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable and inviting. The service was great and professional. The food was absolutely delicious and so healthy! We loved our experience and will definitely return perhaps to enjoy their patio outside.

Best Moussaka Ive ever had.

The freshness and flavour of the food was amazing. Lovely atmosphere and friendly service. A kids menu for dine in was a great option for our family.

It s been a while since I ordered food from here. But I remember it being a lot better. I m not sure what happened but this meal was not worth the 50 dollars I just spent. I felt like the hummus was day old and left over very very solid. I also felt the portion was a lot smaller than last time I ordered. Meat seemed dried out. All and all pretty disappointed with this meal.

Food was amazing as always! Service was exceptional, she is always so helpful with food choices and preferences. I came with my sister as she is a pastry chef and she loved everything too. The owner, she had given me a Mediterranean cookbook which was very delightful since I wasn t expecting that. I love cooking authentic food and surely miss it back home so it was very very heartfelt. Thank you so much, I will be back again.

A most warming, hospitable dining experience which brought my partner feeling he was in his parents home in Turkey. Traditional menu items and authentically made, we visited twice for dine in on our 5-day visit in Halifax. A must! We will visit again when we return. Vegetarian options: Lots of options Dietary restrictions: Was very accommodating to our needs of which we had vegan and gluten. When we came for the second time , the owner ensured our meals matched our dietary and served them herself and explained the meal.

Awesome food. Ive tried almost everything on the menu. My personal favorite is the lamb burger but I have yet to have anything that is lower than 8/10. The staff is superb, very friendly and efficient.

Delicious and authentic food and wonderful Turkish hospitality! The chicken kõfte were well-seasoned and the rice had a slight hint of butter without being greasy. The menu clearly marks all the dishes that are Gluten-free. When I said I was Celiac and didnt want the pita, I was offered gluten-free bread! The small grocery store has a good selection of Turkish goods. I highly recommend the sheep cheese and the Tahin&Pekmez. Looking forward to the grocery store theyll open on the Bedford Hwy later this month!

Grocery store also has an awesome assortment of specialty regional goods that are hard to find anywhere else. Atmosphere is so cute! Go! One of the best Mediterranean food I have ever had! The lamb and chicken skewers are juicy and tender, and the fries are cooked just right, and the sauce that goes with the fries is much tastier than just regular tomato sauce. The European atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice as well, very relaxing

We had a fantastic meal here! I wish I took more pictures. We called about an hour ahead of time on a Thursday and they were able to accommodate our party of 9. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The little details like the olives and crackers before the meal and tea at the end along with everything else made my family s experience at this restaurant the best we ve had while visiting Halifax. Really liked their grocery section as well.

Wow. Absolutely outstanding food but they leave little to no room for easy requests. I ve had appetizers, wraps and salads, all so good. Quality ingredients, great flavours. Edit: this was my favourite restaurant for a couple of months, they get a little too rude/short about seemingly simple requests so I won t be back. I will very much miss their food!

My friend and I were looking for place for dinner last night and decided to try MediTerra Kitchen. We weren t disappointed with any aspect of our visit and highly recommend to anyone looking for freshly prepared meal and great service. Give MediTera Kitchen a try! They also have a small grocery selection for you to pick up some of your favourite ingredients to try and replicate your delicious Mediterranean foods.

We thought we would try something new tonight and support a local restaurant. We decided to give MediTerra Kitchen a try and we were not dissapointed. In fact we left stuffed after enjoying their delicious food that was very reasonably priced. For excellent quality food, and hospitality we paid just over $60 after tax and a 15% tip. We were also given free grilled pita with feta and olives while we waited and served Turkish tea after we ate which was a nice touch. On a separate note of customer satisfaction, my 11 year old daughter who is very picky about what she eats absolutely loved their french fries and thought they were the best she has ever had and raved about them. The only opportunity for improvement that I noticed while I was there was that they only had one waitress/hostess working on the front end. Please dont get me wrong here, I want to be clear that our service was still good and I dont blame them for starting up with minimal staffing to keep costs down as they are no doubt trying to feel out how business is going to be since the passport restrictions were lifted. Our waitress did a good job juggling the tables, orders, take out orders and Door Dash etc; I just think things would have been less stressful on the young girl working if they would of had at least one more person helping out in cash, but this is just a suggestion. I would also like to note that this business did not ask for for the passport to dine in which I was pleased to see and will continue to support this business. Overall, this was our first time eating here and we really enjoyed the food and hospitality. Given the circumstances and timing of the pass being lifted I understand like any business they will need time to feel out how things are going to go so I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and give them a 5 star rating which I feel was more than earned by the quality, value and service. Thank you for having us as guests tonight and we will be back! //Update - Our Second Visit// Tonight we decided to go back to try some new items on the menu. First off I would like to acknowledge the level of service we received was second to none. In addition, I was was really impressed that the owner actually addressed me and my family by name and took the time to acknowledge my review, and advised that they have now hired an additional server which I was quite surprised at but really impressed with. I will note that all customers were well looked after. This restaurant is the type of restaurant local people need to support. The quality of food is great, and it is very easy to see that they are striving to do their very best for their customers and not taking them for granted which is very rare in todays day and age. I apologize for not getting better pictures, as it slipped my mind to take pictures before we started to eat. It just looked too good and we were hungry, so these pictures do not reflect the true quality of the food we received. I ordered the kafta plate with the spinach pie to start. My wife had the artichoke salad and fried calimari. My daughter had the kids chicken burger with fries. After dinner my daughter had icecream with strawberry sauce and I had heaven on a plate, otherwise known as Profiterole which was amazing! We all left full and more than satisfied with our food and service! A huge thank you to the owner and staff for an amazing meal. We will be back! If I could give you another 5 star rating I would but Google only allows me to give you one rating. We will be back! //Update// We have now dined in here at least 5 times and I can easily give this restaurant 5 stars across the board. I tried their moussaka for the first time and it was amazing to say the least. This is now our go to restaurant in Lower Sackville. If you want great quality food with great service and at a reasonable price this is a winner hands down! Vegetarian options: There are several options and if you ask for something specific, I am sure they would accommodate. Parking: It is a plaza so there is a fair amount of parking. Kid-friendliness: They have small games to help keep children occupied. Wheelchair accessibility: Located on the ground level so easily accessible by wheel chair.

I ve eaten here multiple times and the food is always amazing and the service is excellent. The food is fresh and healthy and tastes wonderful. It s fast become my family s favorite.

Excellent atmosphere, food, and value

We were a party of 4, 2 couples of senior status, arrived at the MediTerra shortly after 6 pm Friday evening. Greeted upon entering and taken to our table. Table was very nicely set and area immaculately clean. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was busy. Water was brought to our table and then dinner drinks were offered, my wife and I opted for a glass of wine, NS wines and an Italian. Our dinner orders were taken and we had a perfect time to chat, over the little treat, and the appetizers we had ordered - they were delicious. In perfect timing our main courses arrived perfectly presented. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinners, the food was perfect, vegetables and meat (lamb and chicken) A little after dinner unique serving of tea and biscuit was an added touch The service throughout was excellent. This restaurant is a jewel. We live in the Middle Sackville area and although it s been awhile since we have been to MidiTerra, ( Covid etc) We had enjoyed our few visits before and will again. Thank You TM

Stopped for lunch this week. Nice spot and delicious food. And the added bonus of the selection of middle eastern specialty items is a nice touch. Recommend. If you like a strong cup of coffee, do pop in and try the Turkish coffee - smooth and delicious. Kid-friendliness: A few games and books are available to keep little ones entertained.

Well I got so excited I was going to eat mediteranean food but let me tell you!!!! nothing we ordered tasted the way it should, very small portions, very greassyyyy!! charged for extra bread!!! The only good thing we really had was the tea at the end and we ended up paying 70$ for 2 pple!!! Very disappointed

Today I visited this place and was delighted. The food was so delicious Especially the chicken kofta wrap with fries is a masterpiece :). If you want to try something very tasty and new, I recommend it!!! It was especially nice to receive Turkish tea with cookies as a compliment from the restaurant. It was amazing! .

Wow! Their food was way more tasty than I expected! Love it! I got seafood mix platter and feta rolls, and my bf got the chicken skewer. and again, we both love our food! There s shrimp, calamari and salmon in the seafood platter, the salmon was super tender, and shrimp was well cooked! My bf loves his food too! And we really enjoy this supper. Definitely will go visit the restaurant sometimes!

Had a mixed skewer platter and a mixed vegetarian platter. Everything was very fresh and tasty. Loved the chili sauce; it was like a homemade salsa. Chicken was perfectly done. Good value for all the food we tried. The server even brought us each a cup of tea as we were finishing up.

I was there with a friend yesterday. The waiter was beyond kind, helpful and although he was busy, he was very attentive. The food was delicious, flavourful and great portion size. The restaurant itself was clean and bright. I want to mention 2 more things this waiter did that will have me returning to Medi Terra again and again. #1 a gentleman forgot his glasses at the barber shop next door - our waiter walked over to retrieve them for this man. #2 it was snowing and as we were leaving our waiter shoveled a path right to our car doors. He was simply amazing as was the food. Bravo

My husband and I went to MediTerra Kitchen for dinner this evening for the first time. Definitely not the last! The food was fresh and well-plated. Complimentary pita with feta and olives was brought to keep us busy. Nice touch! The walnut dip appetizer we shared was really enough for 4, but was so tasty we ate it all anyway. I ordered the lovely fresh artichoke salad with lamb skewer and Jim had the mixed meat platter. The lamb was perfectly seasoned, juicy and tender. Jim s meat was accompanied by a great selection of vegetables. They have an excellent choice of beers, including some Old Biddy s from the brewery next door. Good selection of wines as well, and even some gin and vodka sodas. There is something for everyone on the list of regular beverages too. We were served a glass of tea and a chocolate after our meal, on the house! The service throughout was excellent. I can t wait to tell our friends and family about this little gem, which is only 5 or 6 minutes from our place, and we are looking forward to our next visit.

First time we visited this place and fell in love. Not only the ambience that gives cozy Mediterranean feeling but also the service was very efficient, quick and with smiling face. We also met the owner and his wife/chef who were very nice generous kind couple. The service was dot prompt while food was yummy delicious. All three dishes were tasty. We highly recommend to visit this place and sure we will go again.

My wife and I visited this restaurant with another couple last evening. What a delight. The food dishes we ordered were delicious, very fresh and prepared with care. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is spotless, very welcoming, no blaring music to deal with. Very condusive to having conversation during the meal.

Driven by this restaurant many times and decided to go give it a try. It was warm out so we decided to eat outside, not such a great idea, Ill mention this later. First of all, the staff were pleasant, service was quick, dish size was decent and the food was good. So our recommendation would be to really enjoy it dont eat outside, the traffic noise, cars driving very close the dining area heading to businesses located behind the restaurant and there are garbage bins about 50m away which wed get a whiff of every so often. Minor issue, just eat inside cause everything else was great. Enjoy.

Happen to discover this gem of a place and wow so impressed with the food. Ive ordered from there several times and the food quality is outstanding. If youre a seafood lover order their sea bream if its available. Its a white fish that we discovered in Greece and before here we couldnt get it in any restaurant. Its quite buttery and def a must try. Their chicken is outstanding as well and comes with rice, pita, sauce and fresh roasted veggies. Its worth the drive if you dont live in the Bedford or Sackville area.

Wow,we had small appetizer tray,a small wrap,and that was over $30! The food was okay but the prices and the amount you get are something to think about.$5 for a pepsi? I dont think this restaurant will be there long.Mezza down the road are a better bet.On the reply the owner says that the pop including pepsi is $3.Well my friend whoever is running your cash is jacking up your prices.

I had the falafel wrap with fries and 2 sauces. Before my lunch, I was given pita slices with olives & feta cheese. And then after I finished meal, was given a nip glass of tea.

I cannot overstate just how much I love this place. Its staffed by wonderful people that make wonderful food with plenty of options to accommodate dietary restrictions. Most of their menu can be made gluten-free and not once have I gotten sick from cross-contamination here.

I have come her a couple times with my wife and infant daughter and they have great food great service and they are very family friendly with proper change tables and even offering free diapers and wipes i would rate it higher if i could and cant recomend it enough. Good food. Have some mixed feelings. Dined one evening, and waited probably an hour and a half for our food....is priority given to Skip the Dishes and takeaway.? Were starving when it arrived. Yummy though. Better experiences at lunch. However, the patio chairs are probably the MOST UNCOMFORTABLE chairs ever encountered, pinch your back. Definitely won t be bringing the husbands. Last time at lunch, it was again yummy, but the waitress spent a lot of time on her phone; hard to notify her when our table was needing something. A customer shouldn t have a view of the server perched on a stool fervently viewing her phone. In a nutshell, good food but some concerns about service and comfort.

I now know what my wife meant when she said, the food here is the best I have had in my whole life. Having been to many restaurants in the Mediterranean countries, I love the fact the authenticity has been brought here to my home town Sackville. I will most certainly be back, with friends because its too good to not share!!! Parking: I love the fact this restaurant has a Turkish grocery store wall right in the dining experience. I ve been to this restaurant many times over the last year, but tonight I ve dined here with a family member who works in the restaurant industry. She praised the food, the service and the atmosphere. This place is lovely.

We visited during sandwich week, and were pleasantly surprised and impressed! The decor is wonderful, the staff very friendly, and the food was exceptional. We ate the best fries we ve ever had! We will certainly be returning! We ve been back many times and continue to be impressed with the friendly, efficient staff. A beautiful family owned and operated facility.

Last night our party of 14 has a most enjoyable dinner party at MediTerra. Everyone raved about their delicious meals. The service was excellent; our large group was no problem for the kitchen or wait staff. Highly recommended this Lr Sackville gem!

This place has been mentioned often recently by neighbours who love it, and we tried it (almost by accident) in the middle of a shopping trip in the area. We were nearby and one of our group recognized the name so off we went! The restaurant wasnt very busy but it was a cold Tuesday night so I wouldnt assume it is always so empty... If it is, then most of Lower Sackville and Bedford are missing out on a gem! The aesthetic of the restaurant is cozy meets IKEA, and menus are plastic pub menus so I wasnt sure what to expect. The menu is bigger than you would expect from a Mediterranean restaurant and there is a lunch menu as well. We quickly picked, and our server took our orders. While we waited for our food, our server delivered a sharing plate of pita, feta and olives to our table along with our drinks, which was a lovely touch. After we finished our amuse bouche, the mains arrived. I had the moussaka platter and it was perfect - béchamel was thick but not at all overpowering. Instead it had soaked into the eggplant and potatoes, and it made for a wonderful textural bite. My two companions both had the mixed skewer platter and it came beautifully plated. Meat was tender and the sauces were fresh and well spiced. One got the beet salad and not only did it look gorgeous, but they said it was delicious too. After dinner, another lovely touch arrived - tiny thin-waisted cups of tea and a small plate of biscuits were delivered to each diner. This is a Turkish tradition to have tea with dessert, a sign of hospitality and it was especially lovely to have them in a traditional Turkish teacup (like a small glass carafe with no handle.) It was a lovely end to an excellent meal. The restaurant also features shelves of Mediterranean foods, and I will definitely be popping in to get a few things for stockings and host gifts. Already planning my return!

What can I say. This little hole in the wall is an absolute hidden gem. Will 110% be back. Everything seemed reasonably priced. Your plate came with a wide variety of sides and the food was packed full of flavour all while being nice and light on your stomach. Youll leave full but wont feel gross. Cant believe I havent tried this place sooner. If you were ever thinking about popping in here and havent yet than youve been missing out. This may have my current vote for best restaurant in Sackville!

Beautiful hideaway. Unexpected joy in a strip mall. Lovely food and excellent prices. Local craft beer from a nearby brewer. Totally satisfied with how they handled my allergy, and went the extra mile!

Got the veggie moussaka. I dont know what secret sauce you put in your rice but it was very good. Loved that I got the moussaka, rice, a little fresh veggies salad, a couple roasted veggies, and a couple sauces. I did takeout but inside was cute when I picked up.

Amazing food omg! Very clean, owners were super friendly, sold local beer and promoted other local services. A real touch of home made food. Very personalized, the Bathroom has clean, had pampers.... Everything was perfect!

Best experience there tonight - made us feel like family and went above and beyond in every way. We ve traveled all over the world and lived in many cities, and this food is legit. Can t wait to return. Many thanks.

I went for lunch, and their lunch menu was perfect! I had the most deliciously spiced chicken burger with two dips, both of which I loved. The servers were friendly and helpful. Love a little snack of pita before the main meal too. Thanks MediTerra!

Multiple takeout orders later, this is a true favourite in our household. Lamb kofta, chicken skewers... and we tried the Lentil fingers and oh my god. We always need to get two orders theyre so good! Keep up the phenomenal work!

I ordered the falafel platter. I was very disappointed in the meal overall, most of all the rice! White basmati rice is not mediterranean! A pilaff or some sort of spiced rice is traditionally what I would have expected. Everything needed more overall seasoning. The falafel was good however, which is why the rating is 2 stars and not one. Far to expensive for a meal that was mostly white rice. I ve had better Mediterranean at the mall.

Had take away today from skip and was thoroughly disappointed with the food. Flavour was 3 out of 10, food was a weak 2 comparable to chewing on an eraser. For that reason I will rate them a one star. Hate doing it but was really disappointed in the food quality.

My husband and I loved our meals. I ordered the chicken skewers and it was the best chicken I ve ever had. I can t wait to try more of their food. We re so pleased to see this business come to sackville.

Popped in for lunch. I wish I took pics! I had the chicken Kofta wrap with fries and shared the spicy walnut dip with a friend. The dip was more a spread, tasty. They gave us a little plate of feta and olives too. Kofta was freshly made and flavourful. Fries were light and crispy. They also gave us little spot of tea. Service was great. Restaurant is bright and clean. Nice ambiance. We enjoyed it!

The food here is awesome! Quality ingredients assembled in to spectacular dishes. The flavours keep you eating well after youre content. We dined casually through many dishes and were so pleased with the whole experience. Eat here. Take to go. No matter you will not regret your choice.

My husband and I ate here today for the first time but not the last. My husband said this place is now our go to place to eat in Lower Sackville. I agreed. The food and service are very good with vegan and gluten free options. As I am gluten intolerant I really appreciate that. Most things are grilled and it appears they make their own pita bread but I may be wrong. I was given an equivalent for the pita bread for the nibbles that arrived at the table while we waited for our meal to be cooked. There was a complementary cup of some sort of tea which came at the end of our meal which was very nice.

We had a wonderful dinner today at Mediterra Kitchen. The staff were extraordinarily helpful in helping us to choose what to order; chicken and lamb skewers were very well seasoned and tender. I would recommend eating here to anyone looking for a lovely evening out.

Best New restaurant in lower Sackville. Menu is full of amazing food. Ive enjoyed a number of different dishes and havent been disappointed yet. Cant wait to go back and try something new. The staff is awesome. Clean environment well spaced out for covid. Highly recommended.

My birthday dinner couldnt be any better!

Decided to stop in and try this newer place out, very glad I did. The establishment itself is really well done inside and well kept. But the food is even more impressive. Everything was cooked to perfection, with fresh ingredients and tasted like many trips back in the future. Highly recommend checking them out if youre a fan of authentic Mediterranean food.
