King of Donair in Lower Sackville

Website says closes at 12am. Called en route at 11:39 for a simple cheese pizza. Was told they were closed.

I have NEVER been charged for using debt before. EVER! what do they do it here. Im from here and was so looking forward to an authentic donar, but charging for debt, I will go somewhere else from now on! Food : 5/5

Havent been here in 2 years. I was craving a donair, so I ordered one.....well Let me say it was beyond dry and burnt. Will never be back!!!!!

I remember when this place was Really good. That s what brought me back, Came in and the walls were dirty, the door was sticky (on my hand) and the donairs I ordered were bland and the meat just tasted like salt. The person making my donairs spent more time on the phone than even making the donairs I had ordered and they weren t very warm at all. The cheese wasn t even melted on the inside of the donair. I won t be back.

This was not a King of anything. The donairs were cold and we were told it s because the sauce is cold. It was very disappointing.

Ive been a fan of KOD for as long as I can remember; but Im tired of being disappointed by the donairs at KOD Sackville. Today I requested a little extra sauce on my donair, just to be sure. Weve all experienced a donair with not enough sauce, and everyone knows its not a donair without the sauce. I personally want to mop it up when I get to the end! What I got was so dry I choked on the dust.. Two stars only because the meat still tasted good. Owners need to understand that the sauce is what makes a donair!

Stopped in for a donair after work and even thou it wasnt busy the Donair meat was dry and over cooked and undersized for what i normally get. This is now second time for this sub par effort.

Sackville Dr. Location. Pizza was completely sub par. I paid for extra cheese. It was as if they went out of their way to put as little cheese as possible on the pizza. I cant imagine what the pizza would have been like if I hadnt paid for extra cheese. Another example of an HRM pizza place that just doesnt care about repeat customers. I am from Ontario and was in Nova Scotia visiting family. I had the donair plate. It was fantastic. The sauce was awesome.

Donair was light on the meat, and expensive compared to others for the serving size.

I ordered from Doordash. 1 Large donair with no Veggies and a add on of cheese with a root beer. The donair came with no cheese and veggies put on it. Even though I paid extra for the cheese. And I never got my drink!

Ordered a large donair pizza. Crust was good but next to nothing for toppings. Very disappointed as they used to be good but they ve really cut back on the toppings. Won t be back

We did a mini donair contest/crawl for somebodys birthday and we included this place. They were definitely not the best out of the 4 we did. (alexandras, pizzadelic, mezza and k.o.d.) Their service was unfriendly, they put the least amount of veggies and had less meat than everybody except mezza, and it was cold. Their sauce was better than 2 of them though. Basically the contestants (of just a fun birthday) said out of the 4 they came 3rd. They are not the king of donairs at all. At least not this location.

DO NOT EAT HERE!! We were traveling to Nova Scotia for the first time and were recommended to try a donair. This was the WORST decision we have ever made in our lives, my spouse and I BOTH got sick within 24 hours, from vomit and diarrheas for 5 days after. Not only is the donair is absolutely disgusting, whoever thought that garlic should be sweet with spicy meat? There was zero veggies and we have never felt so horrible in our lives. My spouse ended up losing weight from their sickness while I can only eat bland food. Worst experience. Service was slow, no A/C inside the establishment, and we will NEVER return. DO NOT EAT THE NOVA SCOTIA DONAIR!! You will regret it.

Friday, Aug 18 got 16 Donair Pizza delivered by Skip. Menu says 2 medium Donair sauce, got None! So disappointing. Donair pizza has to have Donair sauce! Ordered extra cheese on my pizza as well as my cheese fingers, thank goodness I did, very little cheese on both :(

Ok. So I have never given l type of rating before, but honestly the worst pizza Ive ever had. You would think KOD (Sackville)would make a great donair pizza. Nope. Crust was dried out as was the donair meat. Tomatoes almost non existent as was the cheese. It was almost as if it was made days ago. I ate one piece and the rest went in the garbage. Sorry but please do better. $32.00 is a lot to pay for an inedible pizza.

Refused to deliver a $400 order on a Saturday night with a $100 tip. Lol guess the new management doesnt like to make money .. smh

Next to no sauce on the donairs. My wife had the works.... 3 pieces of onion and 4 pieces of tomato!!! I have never been able to pick up the pita without getting sauce on my hands at any other donair shop........ this night, I didnt even need to wash my hands afterwards. I was completely disappointed. And if I could have weighed them..... I dont think 2 regulars weighed as much as 1 regular anywhere else!!!

Had the Big M donair .It was fantastic.

The King has the best Donair in town, hands up. Grab an extra bottle of Donair sauce and really slop it on there for the full experience. Add Chris Brothers pepperoni to mix it up, but if its your first time go with the Kings original vision with onions and tomatoes.

Ordered a large donair maybe got a medium. Barely any cheese on it and it was extra salty. Not to mention waited 2 hours to get it on SkipTheDishes. I had high hopes for this place. Very disappointed

For Friday night my Donaire should not be sober black and I cant even eat it let alone they dont even give you enough sauce to cover half of the Donair I ordered this for doordash and they contacted the store this is my fourth time attempting to go to the Sackville King of Donair I will never waste my time money for energy on this place again it is completely black Donaire for a Friday night you think it would be fresh and ready to go I have never had Joan are so blessed in my life you are not the King of Donair at all

This popped up on my feed and I realized that I forgot to leave my review. Back in April it was my best friends birthday, and I gave him a choice of where he wanted to go for food. He chose KOD in Lower Sackville as he enjoys the KOD donair sub, so this is where we went. Honestly the food was okay, but the way he was treated there was totally unacceptable and the reason I will never purchase food from there again, so this is the reason behind my rating of 1 star because of their demeanor and how they treated my friend. We both drove there in our own cars and I parked towards the opposite side of the parking lot because I always park away from other vehicles. My friend parked in front of KOD. There were no signs posted at that time (not sure now since I have never been back) stating this parking spot was for staff or delivery which should mean it is an available spot to park. After we ate we were going to go for a coffee down the street at Tims so I drove away to meet him there. I sat and waited for quite some time. Maybe 10-15 minutes or longer waiting for him. When he finally arrived he told me that one of the staff members pulled up behind him and blocked him in. He asked if they could move so he could get out and from my understanding the staff became confrontational saying how he wasnt supposed to be parked there which turned into an argument. To be fair, I was not present for this, but he had no reason to lie to me and the fact that there was no signage posted I still cant understand why it was an issue. At any rate if this is how they treat their paying customers, I certainly will not be going there again.

Bought my first donair at KOD Dartmouth around 1984! Bought my last item from KOD Sackville yesterday! NEVER AGAIN! Food was good, thus the 2 stars. Danny in the other hand is a horrible horrible customer service person so with the abundance of other restaurants around, I will now choose one of them! One day they will reAlize it is about the overall experience, not just the taste. But for me it is too late! Buh-bye!!

I ordered 2 medium 3 topping pizzas from the sackville location. Not only did it cost $39! But when I got home each pizza had only 2 toppings ( both pizzas were missing green peppers). Not only am I disappointed with the price but the missing toppings.

Had a donair tonight from the Lower Sackville store and it was the worst! First off it was cold. The meat was dry and looked like it was probably left over from last night. The sauce was sub-standard and was not as sweet as it should have been. I hadnt gotten a donair from them in about 30 years and always remembered that they used to be untouchable by any of their competitors. That is no longer the case. You only get my money once. To the reviewers bragging this place up, you should take a drive up to Haddads in Middle Sackville and see what a real donair tastes like. Colossal FAIL!!!!

The food was cold upon picking it up the order was wrong and the staff were rude on the phone when we inquired about the mistake and hung up on us. The staff seemed more concerned over how their recently acquired tips were to be divided up than serving the costumers

The food was good years ago but now its just cardboard crust. Not much sauce,barley any toppings and rude employees. The waiting area looks dirty and I imagine the back is no different.Never go there again. Jessies Pizza is 10 times better and friendly staff.

Have ordered from here twice and will never order again. First time they got the order wrong and forgot a part of it. I gave them another chance, and they got the order wrong again by adding on ingredients we didnt order - the quality of the pizza was, honestly, very gross. A frozen pizza from the store is much better (and way less overpriced) then here.

This review I was torn to write as this place was my place to go for donair in Sackville, but after ordering some this weekend I was very dissatisfied with the change of their donair sauce it tastes cheap and ruined the experience that I have always enjoyed at KOD. I will unfortunately no longer come here unless the sauce returns. This review is for donair and not pizza as I havent had one in a while from here.

When we went into store 4 months ago amazing service they were great to myself and my daughter fast great pizza. We would normally order pizza from there for delivery and once a week or so it was our go-to place fast reliable good food great service. About 2 weeks ago my son ordered a pizza. It was on speakerphone I heard it all . My son doesnt normally order but he did everything he was supposed to do said what he was supposed to say and the pizza never showed up an hour and a half later I called just to get an ETA cuz that wasnt normal delivery time and you know start to wonder something happened to her order. Not sure if I spoke to an owner or a manager and older man though who took my call was extremely rude when I was very polite and just was wondering if there is an issue with our order just cuz we hadnt received it yet and I was just wondering he snapped at me told me that they thought it was for pickup because my son didnt give the address I explained I heard that he gave the address but regardless its not pick up you know we still wanted to have our pizza delivered if that was okay he said hell be there in 5 minutes so rude to me told me that he absolutely did not give the address and kind of shrug me off and hung up. When the driver showed up I asked him you know if there was issues like I heard the call my son gave the address but either way the person on the phone was very rude like I was not rude I wasnt upset I was just trying to find out what under a pizza he was so rude and disrespectful and snapped at me like as if it was his order that got messed up like as if it cost him money. The driver kind of uncomfortable with the question I could tell just was like I think hes having a bad day who knows I think he was being kind and polite. The delivery service usually fast they can deliver guys great I tipped him. Bottom line I will never order from there again they sent me the pizza that was in the warmer for an hour and a half it was very dry and it tasted like a week old really hard it was gross I think the kids ate some but the rest of it either went to the dog or the garbage. Had he not been such a jerk or if his approach were better then they would not have lost a lifetime customer. Worst customer service that night. Infact so bad I will never order there or even eat their food ever again.

Theyve really gone downhill they charge you $0.40 to use the Interac machine on the size of the donaires are very small and the tomatoes are usually not that good

So I was just talking to a gentleman at the store who said that they do not deliver to Bedford although I had a delivery come to Bedford two nights ago. So I m not sure if he s just making up his own rules because he doesn t want to, an extra five minutes out of his way or not. But unfortunately it ll be my last order that I ever place with this company. He was quite rude on the phone and Dismissed me and couldn t wait to get me off the phone. I hope that the company knows what kind of employees they have working for them, and take their customers input seriously because there are a lot of other restaurants that I can be ordering from from now on

Ordered a Donair with cheese no tomatoes. Donair showed up with no sauce. Called to advise guy answers say yes it does. This is my 10,000 or so Donair and you are arguing about if I have sauce. Never again.

Cheap pizza if thats what youre after but Id only give it a 5/10. If you want cheese on every piece this isnt the place to go. Staff wasnt very friendly on multiple occasions and they charge you extra if you dont pay in cash...its 2020....stop nickle and diming customers to make an extra buck on the already sub par pizza. Also, be sure to train the staff on how to properly round to the nearest nickle rather than always rounding up.

The BEST donairs in Halifax area. Always hit the spot and are an authentic donair. Even my Dutch fiance loved it and he had never heard of a donair.

Im lactose intolerant, the staff are very nice and always accommodating me. I always bring my own cheese, wish they would get lactose cheese, there are a lot of lactose people, i think it would be beneficial for them.

Owners demolished a registered heritage building. The Reid house was close to 300 years old and was apart of Nova Scotias history. Nanco Development could not get legally approved to tear down but destroyed it anyway. I will not support such disrespect

We enjoy their menu , i find most of the staff friendly , helpful and pleasant to deal with , i have found that You can find a place that has great food but if the staff arent friendly or pleasant i personally wont continue to give them my business. Its important that the customer feel welcome , not like the business could careless if they get Your business or not . I would hope im not the only one that feels this way.
