This is definitely one of the better spots in Magog. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere had a classy vibe. I ordered the salmon tartare and onion soup, both of which were fantastic. My friends had the clams and salmon fillet, and they thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. Our waitress was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the evening. I highly recommend this restaurant whether you're meeting up with family, hanging out with friends, or even on a date, it's a great choice.
Great restaurant and careful attention given to the customer experience by their wonderful staff, food presentation and overall glorious tastes. Our server, Frederic (sp?), was awesome and very attentive. We showed up on a busy Saturday evening sans reservation and they still went out of their way to find us a table for 4. When I come back to Magog, “I’ll be back!” for sure!

Amazing anniversary dinner! We both had the table d'hôte!!! Wonderful soup, oysters, tartares and yummy desserts. Husband and I really enjoyed our night and drinks. Service was a bit slow, but we didn't mind!

Great food, even better service! From the starters to dessert, the food was the best I tried in Magog. Very close in quality to what you would find in a great Montreal restaurant. In terms of service, I have never experienced the quality that Stéphanie provided. She mastered the table to the point WE wanted to make a good impression on her as guests. Nothing escaped her. She was more than a waitress, she was like the personal assistant to a Prime Minister. You need to experience this at least once in your lifetime.
Very nice service and the food was good. The soup of the day was very good. The salade for the steak was small, but I like a big salade. 😋 the terrace was nice, the place clean including the bathroom.
This is a place that offers fine dining at an affordable price. With a $22 three course prix fixe, you can't go wrong. They had salmon poached in walnut oil which was delicious and one of the most unique things I've eaten.

Very nice discovery last night, excellent service from Pascale. The crispy goat cheese was excellent as well as the oysters. The Icelandic cod with salsify was spectacular, the seafood rice also delicious. The crème brûlée as well as the chocolate mousse are divinely good!!!!! Thanks see you soon

As soon as we arrived, the warm and welcoming atmosphere immediately put us at ease. The staff was courteous and attentive, ready to answer our questions about the menu. The dishes were a real treat for the taste buds! The wine list offered a nice selection, and our choices accompanied our dishes perfectly. The portions were generous, and the value for money was excellent. In short, this restaurant is a must for all lovers of Italian cuisine. I highly recommend booking a table and experiencing their delicacies. One more star for the experience!

Well-orchestrated and efficient team service Delicious fish, beautiful presentation, however bland, everything was white: salsifi (unfortunately not cooked hard enough) and white mushrooms saved by 3 leaves of Brussels sprouts This dish probably does not meet the caloric needs of a main dish as well and for my part I was saved by the baguette and the well-seasoned butter So I without hesitation asked for dessert, in this case: a lemon tart which made up for it!!! I saw dishes of Black Pudding passing by which will surely be my first choice on my next visit Enjoy your food
Disappointing. I understand that they could not offer us a table to our liking but I deplore the haughty tone of the manager and the fact that they falsely indicated that we had not honored our reservation. Deplorable.

Birthday dinner with my wife and it was a superb evening. Filet mignon was exceptional and so was the service. Completely reasonable prices for the quality, atmosphere and outstanding service.

Jai pris le tartare de saumon, mon conjoint le filet mignon. Sa viande fondait dans la bouche et mon tartare était wow!!! La qualité de la nourriture vaut amplement le prix.

Good quality/price ratio. The employees are very pleasant. The sound level is good. There is a beautiful terrace for the warm season. The menu will please most people. And what about the succulent black pudding. I think this is my best ever. We will definitely return now that the work is completed in downtown Magog.

Overcooked flank steak coming with fried potatoes as a very disappointing accompaniment for this dish. We should have offered other choices. Salad as a very poor starter. A salad with vegetables would have been preferable. Too expensive for the price paid.
First disappointment, it was impossible to get a table outside without a reservation. Very unpleasant, especially since several tables were available. Second disappointment, the flank steak special. A simple piece of flank steak with fries and without any vegetables or salad. Lets say that the plate was very ordinary. It was good but nothing more. The service was perfect, fast and efficient. I wont go back there.
Couldnt have been a worse problem solver. This was our first visit to this restaurant. We went for a special mussels and fries evening. My partner had no broth in her dish of mussels (dry and tasteless) so we asked for some. Three employees came to the table to tell us that we had to wait before receiving this famous broth. 15 to 20 minutes later, I finished my dish of mussels, my partners dry and cold mussels are still on her plate and we bring her some broth. We suggest offering other mussels, but the waiting time may be the same as for the broth. He offers us not to pay for our meal and we leave, but my partner has not eaten. There are a whole range of solutions in such a situation; offer a choice of meals that are served within a reasonable time frame so as not to let dissatisfied customers leave.

Excellent French restaurant. Our server was exceptional. The veal cheek, duck parmentier and soup of the day were particularly delicious. Its a bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. This is not often the case for restaurants of this type, in my opinion. 5/5.

I had a great experience. My first experience wasnt great as I had bad service but this time I was put into Fredericks (Fred) section and this made a big difference. You could not find a more hospitable or accommodating server than Fred. He made the whole dining experience pleasant. When my group gets together and we mention Pinocchio, the first thing they say is Remember our waiter Fred and how amazing he was?. All future servers at this restaurant and their sister restaurant (Alessa) should be trained by him. The food (Risotto) was really good and dessert (chocolate mousse) were outstanding. Great place to dine and spend an evening in Magog.

My father and I visited Magog for a day, and decided to go to Pinocchio for a meal. We ended up ordering of the Table dhaute and I regret nothing. Our server Julien was great. Knowledgeable, amicable and measured. He never came off to much or to little and he was a joy to chat with tableside. The food was also great. Especially the Lemon Tart. People have good days and bad days and as such I do my best to account for all the factors when I review a place. In this case though there is nothing bad to say. I left having had the dining experience that many restaurants in Ottawa have yet to provide despite their higher price-points. Merci Julien! Le service était superbe. Food is very good and service was great until I complained about paying tip on taxes. I was told that its the handheld paying machine that does that. This tax tipping ruined the dining experience for me. Im not going back.
Nice place for a romantic outing, excellent service, but the kitchen lacked love (blood sausage much overcooked and too big, and marrow bone bread very difficult to cut). But all in all, a great outing!

First visit. Very nice experience. The server was very kind and very professional. The starters are very well presented and delicious. The dishes: mussels and fries very good without oumf, on the other hand. The fries excellent. The dish of the day: very well done pork tenderloin. The sauce a little stiff. Desserts, little variety but OK. Wine by the glass too expensive.

Unfortunately, experience far below our expectations. Gravlax starter which was most likely smoked salmon (smoky taste and identical texture). Bavette which was a monstrous piece of nerve with a little meat (burnt in places). Excellent dessert (chocolate crisp and coffee). I allow myself an opinion of this kind because they present themselves as a place of haute cuisine (with prices accordingly) and we therefore expect an experience at this level. Complete experience ranging from wine, lobster bisque, lobster main course and excised dessert. Luckily the food was 100% as the service remains to be considered. For the price we pay, the waitress could have made more effort depending on the presence! Over all very happy

We came here mainly for the atmosphere, the decor was magnificent, especially outside! The waitress was nice but it took us an hour to get our main course and almost 45 minutes for the starter which was long for a restaurant like this. But we were pleasantly surprised by the food which was very good, I especially liked the mussels! So I recommend this restaurant!

Unfortunately we had a bad experience in this restaurant. I was with my wife, my daughter and my teenager. We wanted to order à la carte dishes but the hostess recommended the chefs menu which would be more complete but also less expensive. When we received the bill we were a little shocked since it cost double what we expected. She offered me and my teenager a beef plate to share, me and my teenager, we had a veal chop but so bitterly like that of a dinosaur, it was so giant and the meat wasnt even half cooked. Ditto for my partner who also ordered tuna. very poorly cooked. We asked to cook them again but they were still served too raw, it was unmanageable for us. When we arrived at the hotel, my daughter, who had lost her legs, vomited. Ditto for my wife too, I wanted to but I held back. Advice, choose your dishes yourself, do not rely on the chefs menu and the advice of the waiters or at least ask the price once the choice is made to get an idea, if you have a budget in mind otherwise enjoy yourself and especially if you love raw meat. Other than that the staff is polite and professional. The ambiance is good and the location is perfect.

It was our anniversary dinner and we made proper reservation for July 31, 2023 at 7 pm. Upon arrival we asked for a different table than was offered to us and even the others tables were available the answer was no. Service was very slow but the most disappointing fact was that my husband ordered 60$ +steak, he asked for medium rare but it came with blood over the middle etc. There was no effort to make the situation better, we were charged for the whole menu minus 50% discount on the steak since my husband took two bites. Such a disappointment on our special night. We were so looking forward to taste French food but the outcome was not satisfactory. Frequent travellers from Ontario

Everything was delicious from appetizers to deserts. I loved the duck and the mango gelato, I recommend it. The ambiance was bold and classy. We waited a little longer that we wanted for the food but that was the only thing.

Waitress was quite nice and with great attitude... but it was not very welcoming experience at arrival in the door (looking-down-at-you behavior) which set an unpleasant tone for the rest of the evening, almost if they were doing me a favor by giving us the table... I also just received a cancellation of my reservation, two hours after... and once we were back at home. I was a bit confused by that.
Great experience on the heated outdoor terrace. The duck parmentier was absolutely DELICIOUS. Same thing for fresh oysters. Salmon tartare was excellent too. The waitress Amélie was knowledgeable about the menu and was confident with her suggestions and wine advice. More or less easy parking in the surrounding area but the price is reasonable. The only negative point of the outdoor terrace is the quantity of sometimes noisy cars and motorbikes nearby.
5 stars for food, service and atmosphere. We had the salmon filet and steak frites. Both were excellent. Our waiter was very nice ( and cute) . We sat outside on the lovely patio but the inside is beautiful as well.
Couple s dinner on the terrace on September 2. Wow wow wow, beautiful atmosphere, the welcome and the staff are impeccable, the menu is varied and everything was delicious from starters to desserts (soup, beet carpaccio, rissoto, filet mignon and crème brûlée, all accompanied by a beer microbrewery and a good Chablis). Bravo to the chef for the presentation of the dishes and a big thank you to Julien for the exceptional service.
The Pinocchio restaurant is ideally located in Magog. However, although the staff was courteous, our experience was marred by an excessive wait of 1 hour 45 minutes, forcing us to leave before tasting their dishes, due to a planned show. If you have plans for the evening, including a show, consider allowing plenty of time or consider another option.

My husband and I dined here for our anniversary dinner and we were pretty disappointed. There s nothing special about the food, it s all very basic - not bad per se but definitely not worth the price. The selection wine by the glass was pretty poor, cheap wines mostly. Oysters were delicious but I can t really credit the restaurant or chef for that. My salmon tartare was well portioned but completely doused in highly salty sauces, it tasted like a mix of teriyaki and soy and it felt like they were trying to cover up old fish. My husband s steak was good, but also doused in a very sweet sauce. Service was ok, dessert was super sugary and lacking sophistication. Everything was lacking sophistication. There are better dining experiences to be had in Magog for similar prices, I ll not be visiting Pinocchio again.

For the price I find the plates empty. When you take the biggest plate on the menu, you want your moneys worth and I would have eaten a Big Mac afterward if McDonalds would have been open nearby. It was good, except the cooking didnt follow as requested. At $250 for 2 its not cheap and very cheap as a plate even if its super fine cuisine. Ordinary and more for flash than eating well. Very good table service. Its not 3-4 pieces of vegetable that will put them in trouble.
We were a group of 4 ppl. The service was nice and we had fun with the team. My appetizer was an amazing foie gras, with a superb presentation. All were jealous of it. The dinner should have stop there it would have been a success. The rest of the plate were really simple. The bavette had no presentation just a steak in the middle of the plate and a side of lettuce. Cant call it a salad an there was nothing other than the lettuce. Meat was overcooked for me and my friend. Useless to complain an return as we would eat with our wifes. Price was high for what we had. If the food had been better on presentation and doneness price would have been ok.

I had entered preferences for the choice of table during my reservation request and the team hit the mark. The food was excellent although the gravlax starter was small to share. Otherwise the service a little long, but understandable considering the general lack of staff everywhere...but impeccable service from Stephanie, who served us with professionalism and she is really interested in her customers. She definitely loves her job, there s no doubt about it.
This is not an unpretentious restaurant, on the contrary. The prices are rather high but in exchange you get a very nice place, a nice atmosphere, excellent service and i-m-p-é-c-a-b-l-e food. Oysters on ice, mussels cooked just right (and not overcooked), tasty tartare and creamy risotto. To try!
Second visit to Pinochio on May 27, 22 and the last!!!! Poor service. Best served at a Mikes restaurant. I can understand the lack of staff but there were only 4 tables in our section. The terrace was empty. We were given a table with a view of the kitchen even though we had a reservation. Prices have exploded since last summer. At this price, give it to your customers. Flank steak served only with vegetables (if an addition of $7 for a potato). Our dishes were brought to us, no offer to add pepper, no feedback on our satisfaction. We had to pour our own wine because no one was taking care of us. We were running after our waitress, it was the helpers who brought our dishes. The waitress gave us the excuse that she was back from Europe and was still feeling the effects of the lag. For us, it was our wedding anniversary. We live in Terrebonne, we wont get back together next week. I think we were the victims of this waitress who wanted to keep all the tables and the tips because her colleague only had 3 tables and took care of her customers perfectly while we were left there.. If you are tired, dear employee back from Europe, rest at home! Youre going to empty the Pinochio because when we go to such a $$$ restaurant its because we want to spoil ourselves and we expect to eat well and be well served.. To finish, our Coffee was cold, we didnt say it...because we had had enough and couldnt wait to leave.

Its a want and I cant. Very good service and variety of dishes. However, the prices are excessive for what they put on your plate. Furthermore, the execution of each dish is not perfect, for that price I expected perfection and it was not like that. We ordered risottos and the rice is very hard and tasted a lot like wine. The salmon dish was delicious, but like the Angus fillet, the prices were exorbitant for the amount they give you. To pay those prices with dishes that were not perfect, I prefer to go to the trattoria and eat a pizza for three times less than the price.
Very good service, clean and nice place, very good food. On the other hand, the plates are tiny and the prices incredibly high. After a $200 bill (2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 glasses of wine), we were still very hungry. Ideally we increase the portions or lower the prices a little . We are used to more gourmet restaurants that offer smaller portions, but there is a limit!

We were there thursday so it wasnt too busy. The food was amazing, the shrimp risotto is perhaps the best risotto Ive ever had! The tenderloin and cod were equally excellent! Our server was attentive and a lot if fun.

They are ready to do anything to get the tips even if their sharing tips give them more of a taste for working as a team to get you a bigger tip the food was execrable even cold but the starters are delicious squid just a little too chewy

The terrace is overloaded with tables and difficult to navigate. The service was pleasant and professional. The entrances are really small. The soup tasted like garlic butter and not its main ingredient. The salmon tartare was bland. The blood sausage dish lacked texture. The risotto dish was disappointing, unrelated and bland.

Food was yummy and cooked to perfection. Services after superb; professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We changed(postponed) our reservation due to traffic congestion in Montreal and it was handled well.

Impeccable service and decor, perfect cod cooking, excellent presentation and cleanliness. For points to improve the salad as a starter was too simple for a restaurant of this price we expect more color and flavor. Delicious dessert. The waiter seemed to me to be a gem for the company, because we could see that he was making an effort to make the evening pleasant for the customers. Total bill $255 for 2, each with a glass of wine.

Amazing place with a beautiful ambiance. Everything was really delicious, from the scallop carpaccio to the duck breast. Nothing to envy of the great restaurants of Montreal, frankly. We were served by Julien, top service. Very good value for the price paid. We highly recommend.
My partner and I go to several restaurants and our references in excellence in terms of value for money are the Marlow and the Angeluc which are, moreover, bring your own wine. The place is very beautiful and contemporary. The welcome was gracious. I would have liked our waitress to explain the menu a little more to us because our choices might have been different. For starters, my partner had the salmon gravlax, which he considered to be one of the best eaten but considered its portion a little small. I took the U10 scallop carpacio starter (and Im careful to remove the s, because in fact, its a scallop cut finely and put in bloom on the plate.) It was very good but at $19, it was more of an appetizer than a starter. My partner had the mushroom risotto, good, without being exceptional, composed mainly of button mushrooms. For my part, I took the black pudding, of which I anticipated the pear compote component which would bring a sweet touch to nuance the taste of the black pudding. The flavors were present but the pear compote was so small that we could not actually appreciate its addition. It is used for aesthetic purposes on the plate. Ultimately, in comparison to other experiences, our consideration was that the prices were high in relation to the dining experience. We had our desserts elsewhere...

WoW what service from Michel and his partner on Friday lunchtime! All is well. Salmon tartare, goats cheese starter also very popular. Wine list that will please everyone... we will come back and above all recommend it.
I am a regular at this restaurant, I frequent it every 2 weeks or so, but unfortunately on a Saturday in June, a wonderful welcome, by a great lady who has been working there for a long time, let us sit down and then We were then asked to leave, even though we live in the area. This is the first time in 8 years of living in the eastern cantons that it has happened to me that I got kicked out of a restaurant that I used to frequent. A pleasant evening that I did not forget accompanied by unpleasant service that I absolutely do not recommend. I feel obliged to leave one star unfortunately... .

Great atmosphere. Very courteous employees. Exquisite food and received in a reasonable time. Only downside: make sure you sit away from the kitchens because its very noisy. The employees when handling the plates seem oblivious/unconcerned about the noise they are making to the point that my partner and I had to interrupt our conversations a few times.

Unfortunately this was my first and last visit. We were in a corner of the restaurant where it was difficult to move because we were stuck between posts. The waiter only came twice, forgot things we asked him and it was very long between each service. Bland fish meal that lacked taste and very expensive.
The place and the staff are very warm, and a special mention to our server Clément for his service!!! The food is downright exquisite!! To start again!!

Disappointing, No benches available and given my back pain it was very unpleasant, despite the fact that we had booked the day before according to the management it hadnt been long enough to give me one. I had to return my mussels, they were not cooked enough, they were still sticky and half were unopened. The fish of the day, lack of taste and small plate. On the other hand, Renauds service was impeccable. Given the price and quality of the food we will not return there.

I give 4* because I dont understand anchovies mixing in a beef tartare? It just tasted like fish instead of beef and I hate the taste of fish. .. My boyfriends pork fillet was really overcooked. Otherwise the starters were excellent and very good service from Clement. We loved the atmosphere and a magnificent terrace. Next time Ill try the flank steak.

I posted a bad review in 2020 about our 2019 New Years experience and I am happy to say Pinocchio is back to five stars! I am all about the food and the excellent food has returned. The service here has always been excellent. We had the oysters which were very fresh and served ice cold with their brine intact. We also had the rack of lamb which was served medium rare and done perfectly. The vegetables and sauces were all excellent. Dessert which was the bread pudding was excellent and the coffee fresh and hot. As always the service was excellent. I am happy that they made adjustments in the kitchen to get this place back on track!
