Restaurant/ bar à vin
Very cute restaurant with some really good dishes and some small misses which prevented it from being a full on 5 star experience (I would consider this a 4.5 rating): Friendly service and the meal started off on an amazing note. We were served a delicious amuse bouche which consisted of a truffle crema with some pureed potatoes as well as complimentary focaccia bread which in itself was very good as well. For our starter we had the calamari which was seasoned perfectly and just a touch overcooked. Loved the smoke almonds which elevated and complimented the dish nicely and the tomato chutney was a great pairing. For the mains, highly recommend the steak. It was perfectly cooked to a medium rare and the sides almost stole the show - the polenta was truly divine and could be a starter on their own while the carrots and bok choy also added to the dish. The compound butter was another element that took the dish further and was consumed wholly. This dish was perfectly executed and alone garners the restaurant a 5 star rating. Compliments to the chef! The seafood tomato rice, while not bad by any means, was lacking a bit in execution relative to the first main (and we are huge seafood people). There was a bit of "grain" or "sediment" (I imagine from the mussels) that made its way into the rice so akin to having a bit of sand in the rice...feels like something got missed in the prep stage perhaps. With that being said, the seafood itself was quite good and prepared well (clams, mussels, catfish, calamari and catfish). The lobster bisque flavor profile took a back seat and was missing. We finished off with their dessert in the form of molten chocolate cake which was accompanied with what I believe to be homemade ice cream. We found the cake to be overly sweet and lacking that rich chocolate flavour compared to better variations we've had but our kiddo loved it and demolished the whole thing. In the end, despite some small quibbles, it's such a charming restaurant with a lot of soul and well deserving of its ratings especially when you consider the accessible price point for the quality of food they are serving. We look forward to coming back and exploring the rest of the menu.
An unexpected gem! The menu offerings were all so tempting. The table le house is a great value.
The mushrooms were divine, not sure what was in the foam sauce but it was exquisite. Octopus carpaccio and molten chocolate cake to round it out. Make a date to go here, you will not regret it!!
This is a good restaurant in Magog. The only downsides were that the restaurant's temperature was very warm and not the most comfortable. The atmosphere was great and the food was pretty good. My seafood pasta didn't have the best flavor, but that may be personal preference.
A must try restaurant when in Magog! The food was amazing and the staff was even more spectacular. Super friendly and helpful. They helped us order 4 amazing dishes; sardines, octopus, pasta w/ shrimp and lions mane mushroom. All where to die for! So next time you’re visiting Magog, make sure you make reservations early!
Our group of six friends was impressed with this restaurant. We chose to be seated on the terrace which was nicely heated on this cool day. We would have loved to order the table d’hôte (three courses for $51) because the menu offers tempting selections for each course. But having overindulged the day before, we could only manage a main and coffee, with drinks. After our drinks arrived, we were treated to a complimentary amuse bouche – a mousse of carrots over a macédoine of carrots and halibut, served with house-made focaccia. It was out of this world – an explosion of flavour and textures – foamy mousse with chunks of sweet carrots and halibut. The focaccia was the perfect counterpoint, soft, chewy and slightly salty. The mains were delicious – some of us had the fresh tagliatelle with lobster and lobster bisque with lardons. I had expected the pasta to be served in a soupy bisque. It was not but was nonetheless loaded with chunks of lobster, lardons and sautéed kale. It tasted very lobster-y. Others had the Gaspé halibut in a coulis of asparagus with sautéed asparagus and basil. They said it was yummy – the halibut was cooked perfectly and the coulis was a bright fresh green purée with plentiful chunks of sautéed asparagus. The service is very professional, friendly and attentive. The wine list is extensive and well-curated. The dirty martinis are excellent! We all loved our meal at au comptoir MarCel and will return next time we are in Magog.
The waiters were very young, but what they lacked in experience, they made up for by their kndness. The service was very friendly. The food was made with quality ingredients and it was alright. The accras were good, but the seafood pasta lacked seasoning. It's not dramatic, but we all added salt to our plates. It's a place I would try again when I visit Magog
Excellent service & food. Highly recommend. Mocktail was fresh & delicious. All courses were complex, well balanced & perfect portions. Will return.
Cute little restaurant by the water in Magog with great food and lovely staff. The plates are presented beautifully and the portions are a good quantity, not too large and not too small. The ingredients used can be unusual paired together but taste delicious. View of the open kitchen and a nice large bathroom with a large counter for diaper changing. We were glad we chose this restaurant. It was worth it. We took the table d hote menu and the chef s choice dessert platter. They offered an amuse bouche of homemade focaccia and a potato mousse with confit onions. I had the calamari with toasted almonds, and tomato chutney. My friend had a butternut squash soup with a runny egg, cream, sunflower seeds and tiny croutons. For the main dish I had herb and sunflower seed crusted trout which had a nice crispy skin. My friend had the mushroom risotto which had different mushrooms with each bite. The dessert platter was delightful. The chef, Marco, brought it out to us himself. It had churros with dolce de leche sauce, chocolate molten lava cake, some type of Chantilly cream puff pastry, a Portuguese egg tart and homemade meringues with raspberries, blackberries and candied walnuts. We finished off with herbal tea with verbena and lemongrass which unfortunately is no longer being produced. Service was at a nice relaxing pace, giving us time to digest in between and not feel rushed or left waiting. Fun fact: the name of the restaurant is the combination of Marco and Celine! Vegetarian options: Mushroom risotto Kid-friendliness: We saw kids dining and a diaper changing pad in the large bathroom. Wheelchair accessibility: You need to go down some steps. I didn t notice a wheelchair ramp.
We took advantage of the 6-course tasting. We enjoyed every bite and the service was impeccable! We definitely recommend the experience to our loved ones!
Wonderful food and great service!
It was the first time in this beautiful place and definitely not the last. The tasting menu is divine and the wine pairing is sublime. The best pudding Ive ever had the pleasure of eating! A delight.
It was a first for us and we really liked it - probably in the summer to enjoy the terrace!
The 6-course tasting menu is a great discovery! An excellent restaurant in Magog, I highly recommend it. The service is great and the people are friendly.
Very good restaurant, a first for us. Tasting menu with wine pairing. Excellent mastery of cooking and processes The only personal comment regarding the lack of taste of certain dishes would be a point to review. Amazing Dessert Tasting Dish!
My favorite restaurant in Magog. Delicious, you can go there with your eyes closed, you cant go wrong! Parking: Possibility of parking in the car park across the street. Free from December 1 to January 7
The only disappointing dish: the nata. The dough was too thick and not flaky. In fact, it didnt look like a nata. But the churros are divine!
Always excellent and very welcoming
Everything is always perfect! My favorite restaurant
I tried the halibut and shrimp pasta. Its just ok, nothing more. Tiny portion of fish and lack of accompaniments on the plate and lack of sauce on the tagliatelle. If food was like excellent service it would be wow! Wheelchair accessibility: Yes to enter the restaurant, but the space inside is quite cramped.
Delicious. Pleasant. User-friendly. Varied menu offering fresh and expertly prepared products. Attentive service. Best restaurant in the region.
Great spot for lunch with a Portuguese flair.
Refined and impeccable cuisine. Tasty, original and very well presented dishes. Very courteous and professional service. Good pace for service. We will come back.
Very good but too expensive for some dishes.
Just wow, our second time and still really very very good, meal and service. Both times we had the tasting menu, so good!
Very nice surprise in Magog (better known by those in the know, because it was recommended to us by the concierge of our hostel). Small and intimate, open kitchen where you can admire the work of the chef and his team. Impressive choice of starters and main dishes on the menu and above all, EVERYTHING was delicious: the fried squid, the oysters au gratin, the lions mane and other mushrooms, the cod acras. The cooking of the flank steak as a main course was impeccable and exquisitely tender. Also superlative desserts, a superb end to a wonderful evening. We will definitely come back.
Superb evening! Great service too. The menu is short but diverse. We will come back!!
More positive than negative. The negative: the cooking of my flank steak was really medium-rare. On the other hand, in terms of tenderness I had to fight even with the steak knife. This ox undoubtedly experienced a lot of stress before being slaughtered. However, my wifes halibut was divine.
Best food Ive had in a long time. Impeccable service and atmosphere
Everything EXELENT.. THE kitchen, the welcome, especially STÉPHANIE.. really someone, very professional and very nice.. His colleague doesnt deserve it either. (The Lyonnaise) Thank you for your welcome.. The French of BORDEAUX
appetizers are to die for
Excellent taste surprise!! More classic flank steak although delicious but put in the mouth sophisticated and creative with corn sprout foam with smoked bacon... sauteed mushrooms cooked with wmour to accompany the lions mane and mussels and fries..... a chef and a hostess Stéphanie in gold... XX
Terrible
First experience at the MarCel counter. From starter to dessert, a pure delight, the service is also exceptional. A place to return for our next getaway to the Eastern Townships.
For Arrow de mariscos, I wish the rice was a little more al dente. I think if you try making paella using Saffron, it will be even more delicious.
An extraordinary evening! We tried and shared the octopus carpaccio, the Asian salad and the squid as starters, everything was delicious! For the main meal, very delicate and perfectly cooked fish, the lions mane and mushroom mixture dish NOT TO BE MISSED and the shrimp pasta. With a French Chardonnais recommended by Céline, very very good! We will absolutely come back to try the whole menu especially the seafood rice!!
The dishes were delicious and the atmosphere pleasant. The server was attentive and listened to our requests but was almost alone in responding to too many customers, which caused long response times.
A well-kept secret at the bottom of a small alley in Magog, the name of the restaurant does not announce the color of this place. The food was excellent, nice varied menu and very reasonable price for the quality. Professional service. We will come back to this.
Excellent restaurant I will definitely return! The menu is well thought out, not many options which for me is a plus! the dishes are varied and very good!
Unfortunately, we had a bad experience. The cheese and cold cuts board was overpriced and poor quality. The chicken was undercooked.
Wonderful !!!! We will definitely go back :) we had the discovery menu with wine pairing and it was excellent!
The best restaurant in Magog and the surrounding area. A real chef! Everything is delicious and incredibly fresh. And the really attentive and excellent service! Thank you also for the special attention to our plant guests Vegetarian options: Some dishes are vegetarian. Dietary restrictions: Just mention it! Parking: It s very rare that there isn t a place on the main street or on Les Pins
Superb discovery. Inspiring menu. The privately imported wines were very good. Great attentive service
Great food and service, has become my favorite restaurant!
The staff is welcoming and very attentive. The menu is varied and everything was delicious. The surprise entry is a pleasure! The flank steak cooked to perfection and the polenta is tender and tasty! Cod and shrimp accras a great discovery! And dessert...! We just dont want to share it! Im going back with pleasure!
A fabulous meal that you ll want to linger over. Super attentive and thoughtful staff. And you can tell how much thought and attention goes into each dish. Will absolutely come back next time we are in Magog.
Fabulous, inventive food and wonderful, warm service. A real highlight of our trip to Magog.
We recently dined at Au Comptoir MarCel, and overall, it was a decent experience. The restaurant offers a unique fusion of French Canadian cuisine with Portuguese influences, which resulted in some flavorful and interesting dishes. The combination of these two culinary traditions created a menu that was both diverse and tasty. However, the service, while friendly and welcoming, could have been more efficient. When the restaurant got busy, the service noticeably slowed down, which detracted from the overall experience. It wasnt a major issue, but it did make the meal feel a bit more drawn out than I would have liked. In summary, Au Comptoir MarCel delivers good food with a distinctive blend of flavors, but the service might lag during peak times. Its worth a visit for those curious about this unique culinary fusion, but be prepared for a potentially slower pace if the restaurant is full.
Super good and really nice place. We feel like were on vacation.
Attentive service, beautiful atmosphere and tasty food at a reasonable price. A great discovery!
Excellent flank steak, cooked to perfection. Tasty, well-seasoned dishes. Impeccable service :)
This was our second experience in this beautiful little restaurant which offers products of exceptional quality. A very nice evening. Beautiful atmosphere and a very special note to our waitress Stéphanie who is really passionate and who knows the menu perfectly. It makes the difference and makes the experience even more pleasant. We will definitely come back!
Very slow service We waited 45 minutes for main dishes Useless music We were next to a table of 10 people, very very loud. For $600 for 4 people too expensive for an unpleasant experience Last visit to your restaurant Vegetarian options: Nile Kid-friendliness: No
Exceptional fish!
For a better atmosphere, I would opt for the interior instead of the terrace. For the rest, 5 stars
The table dhôte was very appreciated by my guest. I was disappointed by the few vegetarian options (only one dish). And I found the atmosphere noisy due to the proximity of the tables. My expectations were high (due to a recommendation), and perhaps that influenced my experience. .
Nice setting, good service and good food
Very good service An excellent meal The tasting menu is an excellent choice to discover Thank you to all the team for your good work
Another beautiful evening with friends with exquisite food and wine and Marco in the kitchen and the most attentive staff.
Disappointing value for money and very ordinary dishes.
Very nice experience! Excellent service, delicious food
Excellent service. The food and staff are amazing.
Delicious, tasty, beautiful atmosphere, excellent service. Everything was good and sought after. A must in Magog. I will go back without hesitation.
We had a great time
Excellent food and service!
I loved my experience. Very good food, especially the starters, and the staff are particularly pleasant and attentive.
A great discovery!
Absolutely fantastic meal - one of the best Ive had. Wonderful wild oysters, amazing tagliatelle con vongole - cant fault it!
Great Restaurant - amazing food and excellent service. Atmosphere was intimate and nice. will definitely return!
Very nice culinary discovery. Everything was perfect, reasonable portions, exquisite flavors and well balanced, nothing extravagant or superfluous, we enjoyed it. The service staff were pleasant, warm and efficient. We will return and I have already recommended it to friends.
Incredible service. Excellent food. Pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend!
Very nice place, the food was wonderful.
Great location, particularly the covered terrace. Attentive, knowledgeable staff. Food overrated. Steak overcooked, seafood precooked and dry. Food : 3/5
The halibut was one of the most beautiful and delicious dishes I have ever been served Our server was very pleasant Food
Nice selection of wines. Very courteous service. Very pleasant terrace! Dinner with a view of the river.
Magnificent discovery overflowing with flavors, each more succulent than the last. Squid, mussels, vitello tonnello, halibut, rice, pasta and Paris Brest, just divinely delicious! Mention for the more than perfect service and for the talent of the chef and his brigade! We happily recommend it and will definitely return. Thank you for the memorable dinner!
What a great experience! A professional service like no other!
Best experience ever Parking: Stationnement de lautre côté de la rue Food : 5/5 |
Very hot in veranda during hot summer days. Specialized in portuguese cooking. Food was delicious. Service was great. We highly recommend the place.
The service was great, the food was some of the best we ve had in a while. The prices are reasonable. We had the fresh oysters, sardines, the seafood rice and the halibut. The desserts are also delicious. Great atmosphere. We ve tried multiple restaurants throughout our stay and this was the #1 for us.
Superb Portuguese-inspired restaurant. Exceptional food, quality and well prepared. A must when you are in Magog.
We had a very nice evening. The discovery menu was tasty and Julie, our waitress, offered us flawless service. Well done to the team. We will return with great pleasure.
The only air conditioning unit in operation was not sufficient to ensure comfort in the interior part of the restaurant. There were 2 other devices on the bar wall that didnt appear to be working. We wondered why; they would have been very useful. Parking: Easy parking
The best salted cod ever eaten.
Very well executed Portuguese cuisine, fast and incredible quality. Ive had the best fried squid here. Everything is fresh and impeccable, the service courteous, without complexes. I had dinner here, but I will come back for dinner!!!
I love this restaurant, the oysters are always excellent and the service is very courteous. Downside I find that it is very hot both inside and on the terrace.
The flank steak was ordinary. The dishes lack accompaniments for the price. On the other hand, the Gaspesie halibut was very good.
tres bel experience -service excellent
Very good restaurant, great atmosphere
The food was amazing and our waitress Stephanie was so nice. We will definitely be back! Vegetarian options: The mushroom dish was one of the best dishes I ve ever had!
Very nice flavors. On the other hand, seafood rice lacked seafood a few shrimp, a lot of mussels. We were looking for cod and a few squid. for the price its not worth it
Wow, what a great culinary discovery! The food, service and atmosphere were perfect!
Everything we ate was fabulous. The focaccia was the best I ve tasted. The halibut was cooked to perfection with a subtle but wonderful sauce to accompany it. The wine list was a perfect compliment to the menu. I only wish there d been a little more food. Bravo!
We had a great time there with friends during our stay in your region. Everything was perfect! THANKS
A good foodie s resto .Dishes found to be creative and tasty. Friendly and efficient service. Food
Very very pleasant experience! Stéphanie, our waitress, gave us an unparalleled welcome and service. She knew every last detail of her menu and wine list, guiding us through a magnificent dining experience. Delicious! In addition, the whole team was very cheerful and helpful, which contributed to a very nice atmosphere.
Thank you for these beautiful wine discoveries! WoW!
Always fantastic. My nephew s first time and he declared best food he s ever had!
Very good service and exquisite menu.
Excellent
Amazing restaurant! A real jewel of Magog! Wonderful and delicious food, a wave of joy in every bite! The staff were also extremely helpful and attentive.
Impeccable meal. We had the 6-course tasting menu with food pairings And wine, it was simply delicious. The service is impeccable, efficient, not too much waiting, just enough. We highly recommend this place. We will definitely go back!
Tasty and sophisticated dishes. Interesting dining experience and the service was well executed. The only downside is that my girlfriend and I were still hungry after the 6 course tasting ($150 for 2 people). I would call the portions sample. I would have preferred to pay a little more for the 6 courses, but to have portions that matched my appetite. Despite this, I am still happy with my experience.
Delicious food 10/10 more than perfect service 10/10 in a warm atmosphere 9/1
The meal was fine and delicious, the only downside was that I found the dish a little too salty. My revenge EM affogato was perfect. Very good wine too!
Very nice restaurant, sit out on the terrace or inside, both are lovely, and the staff are really excellent, and super knowledgeable about the wine. The food was also different, interesting and delicious, although not huge portions, so have an appetizer! Overall a wonderful dining experience.
Everything was perfect for our anniversary dinner. The food, the service with Stéphanie and the atmosphere. A well-hidden favorite on the main street. Don t hesitate, book now!
This restaurant was recommended to me for a while, I was delighted! Impeccable service and succulent tasting menu. Scallop carpaccio and citrus variation.
Excellent restaurant finally a table that stands out from the traditional tartare or burger plus the service was impeccable thanks to Stéphanie and the whole team I recommend it 150% if you want something different impeccable food and choice of wine by the glass or at the box Thank you Parking: Public parking in Magog
It was excellent!!!
1st great discovery experience and certainly the start of a series of future visits to your home!
Great refined food and menu, beautiful staff, kind employees. The fish dish was great and the scallop carpaccio. Didn t try the grilled sardines but they looked amazing Dietary restrictions: Dairy free
Simply delicious!! We will come back
Very nice evening, thank you
Undoubtedly one of the best meals of a lifetime. If you live in NYC and travel around the world eating, you will easily find yourself making a special trip to this restaurant; there is nothing else like it. Everything about this the experience, the considerate chef (who came out of the kitchen to personally serve my three year old), the staff and location make it a spectacular experience. The food will likely blow your mind.
Vegetarian options: Il y en a plusieurs Food
We had one of the best meals weve had in a long time. Beautiful presentations and delicious. Waitstaff were attentive and genuinely friendly. Would definitely go to MarCel again.
Excellent experience for Mothers Day, with colleagues and friends, exquisite taste and a divine meal. Well done and long life!
Everything was PERFECT!!! Atmosphere, food, wine and above all the service.
We opted for the tasting menu with the wine pairing and had an excellent meal that was very reasonably priced for the high quality of the food. The staff were also very friendly.
Excellent experience all around! The food was fantastic, the service - exceptional, and the wine selection - very unique! We will be back again!
Perfect food and ambiance! The service was particularly long at the start of the meal. Almost 35 minutes before a waitress came to take our initial order! Parking: Okay
This restaurant was a favorite. The dish tasted was famous, fresh, summery and I have excellent taste memories. The service was discreet and friendly. The location, a little set back from the street, offers us a covered terrace facing a stream. Unfortunately our table overlooked a waste container. It takes away a bit of the magic. However, I would go back to try other dishes.
Great food and great service. This is probably the most sophisticated cooking available in Magog restaurants right now. The space is also very pleasant for a Saturday evening dinner.
Tasting menu with food and wine pairing, simply sublime!
nothing more to say
Dishes were of a high standard and the atmosphere on the deck was relaxed with good music playing in the background.
For my taste in the best restaurants in Magog if not the best. Everything is prepared and presented with care and all the staff are cheerful and attentive! I highly recommend it!
Excellent restaurant, both for the food and for the service!
Wow what a great experience
Excellent, always. Fresh Portuguese-style cuisine with complex and well-balanced tastes. A place to discover and adopt.
Excellent cuisine. Perfect portions... The terrace was too hot, but the room inside was air conditioned. We will definitely come back!!
Everything was impeccable! Thank you for the welcome!
Superb experience at Comptoir MarCel. We went there at lunchtime and had the table dhôte for $35. The dishes were tasty and fresh, the terrace overlooking the river was magnificent, the service was impeccable. I highly recommend!
Very nice hosts very good service and a place to return with the rest of the family
This is what modern French food should taste like! The service was outstanding, as expected. Wish you had a 10 star option. We live in NY but Au Compton is a reason to return to Magog! MERCI!
Fantastic! Magnifique! My wife and I celebrated our anniversary with a delicious dinner here. We chose the Tasting Menu and the 4 wine pairings. The food was amazing, delicious, and beautifully presented. The wines were wonderful and paired perfectly with the food. The service was cheerful, friendly, and welcoming. Highly recommend!
It tastes like heaven and the service is always perfect. We will go back!
Extraordinary!
A third time for me at this restaurant and I really like the Mediterranean side of the menu, the excellent service and the atmosphere.
Favorite in Magog, incomparable!
A very welcome first, we will definitely come back!
Tasty, well-presented dishes and warm service. The wine selection is really interesting too. Its the best restaurant we have tried so far in Magog!
The quality/price ratio is extremely rare, and the covered terrace gives a warm, bright and relaxed atmosphere (even when its cold outside)! I went there for the first time with my family for dinner, and I will be back. I recommend the flank steak. Dietary restrictions: They were very attentive to my fathers allergies and made sure to recommend dishes that were 100% safe.
To recommend and repeat. THANKS!
We chose this restaurant because of the good reviews. It far exceeded our expectations. We had the 6 course-6 wine tasting menu. All the dishes are very elaborate, magnificent to look at and succulent. Our waitress, Stéphanie, was also the sommelier, brimming with knowledge and generous with it. Excellent meal, memorable experience Parking: Almost opposite the restaurant
Very nice place, very good food!
Great evening with the tasting menu! Wine pairing worth it! An intimate restaurant where you can hear each other talk. The terrace in summer must also be worth the detour. We are picky about restaurants but this one caters to our every whim! WOW
What an amazing restaurant experience! The service (merci, Stephanie!), the food, the atmosphere were just perfect. A magical team of people work together in perfect harmony to create delicious, original dishes representing many flavours. We will definitely come back again! Please dont change what you are doing!
We love everything about Au Comptoir MarCel. The seafood is magnificent, and every staff member is happy to discuss the selection of plates and wines.
Service was excellent, Waitress really knows what wines to recommend. Both my spouse and I took calamari and tagliatelle lobster pasta and the calamari was unique but slightly overcooked and the pasta did not have anything lobster bisque about it and Lobster bisque is one of my fave dishes. All that being said the dish was still ok, but was expecting a little better. I would still recommend the restaurant if your budget is around 100$ per person.
simply excellent
The tasting menu was absolutely delicious. A sought-after cuisine with its influences including Portuguese. A charming waiter, attentive to his service and our comments. Excellent wine pairings. A place to recommend! Vegetarian options: Always a vegetarian dish at each stage of the meal Kid-friendliness: Middays
We were served by the manager. She was very involved. The cook made us some special dishes. Everything was delicious. Probably the best restaurant around
We had an absolutely wonderful time! Stylish, warm, thoughtful, lovely, delicious! Kid-friendliness: We have young but fairly well mannered children, and making sure that there was some food on the table as soon as possible including extra bread for them, and treating us all with respect for having a nice dinner out as a family went a long way toward the evening being delightful and successful.
The food was really delicious, although it could have been a little hotter. The service was impeccable! Thanks for everything.
What a great discovery, passing through the eastern cantons and Magog in particular, coming from Bordeaux I can say that the dishes are worthy of a French gastro!! Served generously and tasty. As for the service, nothing to complain about, a smile on your face accompanied by tasty explanations...the price for the 3 dishes is more reasonable, dont hesitate for a second, you will not be disappointed..thank you
Excellent service and tasting menu! We will definitely return!
A lovely evening overall. We are used to multi-course tastings with pairings, unfortunately this one did not meet our expectations. The food was good and varied, but the visuals lacked refinement and some dishes lacked sophistication. We would have liked to find sauces with the dishes (for example beef). Additionally, some pairings didnt work at all, like blood sausage with orange wine. The service was also rushed at times. We were brought the next dish even though we had not finished the previous dish. However, everyone was very courteous, smiling and warm. We probably wont go back, but were glad we got to experience it. I think the Wednesday special is to be preferred, otherwise it becomes expensive for the result.
Great service!! Atmosphere #1 Beautiful and good food
What Happiness. Extraordinary experience: the service with Stéphanie, the sublime food (blood sausage, cold meats, flank steak, pork cheek, chocolate fondant) Cleanliness of the place, impeccable wine and water glasses. We went early before a show and it wasnt too busy or noisy. But at 7:00 p.m. they were refusing customers. Probably the best restaurant in Magog and surrounding areas. We highly recommend Au Comptoir MarCel.
Superb little restaurant! Very well located, very nice decoration. The dishes are full of flavor and the portions are perfect. The menu is unlike any other restaurant. A big plus for the service, thank you a thousand times! We recommend 100%!
Very friendly, welcome, service, the chef takes the time to come and chat. Generous and high quality food. No music that would prevent exchanges, it s rare and very appreciated. Unfortunately for us (we are demanding...), it lacks that little extra of a memorable dish that would make us want to come back.
We had a warm welcome with great energy, which set the tone for the rest of the atmosphere. We had the table d hôte from starter to dessert, everything was delicious. Thank you for this good meal.
Excellent cuisine worthy of gourmet restaurants both in the richness of its products and in the presentation. Sophisticated cuisine and beautiful blends of flavors. The tasting menu is incredible. Stéphanie, passionate about wine, will amuse your taste buds with great discoveries and will make you taste original wines like the pear wine from Domaine des Salamandres which goes very well with desserts. The service is as good as its cuisine and all in a very beautiful setting. In summer the terrace overlooks the river! One of the best restaurants in Magog. The quality/price ratio is excellent.
Our favorite restaurant by far. Great food and everyone is very nice. We love it!
A very nice discovery! To repeat. THANKS
Nice restaurant located in the heart of Magog. The dishes are well executed and well presented. Excellent service.
What a wonderful discovery this little restaurant is in downtown Magog!! A guaranteed favorite for all lovers of seafood, pasta and tasty desserts! Best mussels, best Paris Brest, best ravioli, best gnocchi, best Zarzuela!! The warm atmosphere, impeccable service and friendly staff make us feel like part of the family. A special thank you to Stéphanie and Guillaume for their exceptional welcome! To discover and adopt!
Warm welcome, excellent service as was the meal.
The food is always creative with a French influence. What stands out even beyond the food (which is great) is the exceptional service.
Of great wealth. Simply perfect!
Being able to watch what happens in the kitchen is really interesting. The dish was salty for my taste (cod)(I barely salt...) we will definitely go back!
Thank you for your welcome and the delicious meals that always exceeded our expectations! Thank you Anna Maria
Great experience! We loved each of our dishes, and just as much the recipes
Limited but well-balanced menu with interesting choices. Impeccable service. I recommend.
Great evening and delicious food
Great discovery in Magog! Everything was perfect: welcome, service, explanations of ingredients and wine pairing, cuisine, dishes served!!! Warm and pleasant atmosphere. We recommend without hesitation.
Second visit to Comptoir MarCel and still just as good. Exquisite 6-course tasting menu from start to finish. Perfect service, dishes served by Marco, co-owner, who makes the experience even more personalized.
Great discovery!!!! To try again on the terrace this summer with pleasure!
Absolutely lovely meal, the food was delicious and presentation beautiful. Delicious beverages, cozy atmosphere, and friendly, warm staff. Because of the compact space it was a bit noisy, but other than that, a 5-star experience for us. Tres bien!
A restaurant with delicious dishes, presented with class and originality. The best of Magog. The team is very professional, kind and always smiling. Stéphanie, the one who took care of our table...Adorable!! Chic on our plate...Thanks to the chef and the whole team!
This place was wow! The food is magnificent. The chef is superb and the serving staff are excellent. I highly recommend this place. This place is a hidden gem. The presenation is also 10 out of 10. All of the accessories to the dishes melt in your mouth.
Excellent place, warm and impeccable service, excellent food
Wow, what a beautiful evening! A treat for the taste buds, this tasting menu... Impeccable warm service, a passionate and exciting chef, fresh quality products, beautiful generous plates as beautiful as they are delicious. In short, a must-see address in Magog!
Famous, in every way!
