Nice restaurant, warm atmosphere and attentive wait staff. Food was ...meh. sorry Appy was good (cod cake in seafood bisque but the Fettuccini was spaghetti pasta (a dente so that was good) and was not made with butter so was 'hollow' and watery...and at $29 not very good....apparently (from manager reply) their chef uses a bechemel to make their cabenara...not a usual recipe...or good one. Did have a good local cider though 🤓
We stopped for coffee, after dinner drinks and dessert. The desserts were amazing and they have an extensive after dinner drink menu. The service was excellent. We’ll be going back for dinner soon.
We drove into Magog for the day from Montreal and we decided to give this place a try. Great service from the start. Warm and welcoming. We had the salmon and bavette. The food was anwesome and the restaurant itself was really cozy. Prices were a bit steep but I totally get it as I am a General Manager/Head bartender at a Pub in Montreal and our overhead has gone up exponentially. Overall a great experience and we will definitely come back. Very happy we stopped in. 🤘
I recently stopped by this café, and all we had was coffee, but let me tell you, it was amazing! The atmosphere was cozy, the coffee was fantastic, and the staff were really friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and in need of a caffeine fix!
We had a very nice experience having dinner at this restaurant during Christmas break. Everything was delicious, but their beef tartare was to die for!
On a Friday night we visit this nice restaurant for the first time. Using the open table application was very easy. We took our places and we first choose our wine based on the advice of the very nice waitress. We took calamari as a appetizer. We looked at each other with the first bite. The calamari well cooked and the small siding sauce was amazing. Enjoying the food, the wine and the chef was close by in this open concept kitchen to see him prepare our next dish. The personal was very quick and professional to make sure everything was joyful for us. The main dish was a real delight to see but even tasted again amazing. We thanked the chef for his amazing cooking and we will come back any time we will be into the town. Great food and friendly professional staff. Thank you so much
Very cute place and quiet in the afternoon. My brother and father got the soup and fish and chips. They only had one vegetarian option but it was risotto so I enjoyed it. The service was nice and fast enough. The portion sizes were on the small side but my party was full by the end so it didn't matter! The food is rich and flavourful, it's a good place if you're looking for a fancy lunch with a nice glass of wine.
Great restaurant we tried for lunch; it has a terasse at back overlooking the water and pleasant jazz music. The service was excellent and so was the food. The burger was quite tasty!
A great discovery, an extraordinary atmosphere and tasty cuisine, go there without hesitation!
For us, it s the place in Magog. Everything is always perfect, a cozy atmosphere that takes us elsewhere. This is our place!!! We recommend without hesitation
When it was time to pay, several banknotes slipped out of my hands without me realizing it. I was called back and put aside the amount in question. Impeccable honesty. I have always eaten very well at Taverne 1855 (and even better at the Plaisir Gourmand de Hatley before). The quality of food by chef Garand and his assistants is always excellent and the service from Jinny and his team is always impeccable. No hesitation in recommending these experienced catering professionals. NO HESITATION.
Good service lacks delicacy and calm when serving the table and places the empty assistants in the bin Wheelchair accessibility: Very small not wide therefore restricted for chair
Cozy, beautiful restaurant with ambience and friendly service. Our meal was fantastic: Tartar de Saumon Classic / Crevettes Bang Bang / Tataki de Thon (on a warm wooden board!).
Risotto was fantastic
The quality of the dishes met our expectations and the risotto was exceptional. Despite a busy Sunday evening, the service was courteous and efficient. By far the best restaurant in Magog!
Good food lacking a little more on the plates for the price... But very good. The service was cold and long yet the restaurant is not big... I know Im in the profession myself... We waited 20 minutes for our bill and another 25 minutes to pay it. The glasses were dusty... A little disappointed in the quality/price ratio.
My wife and I came with our 6 month old baby to eat on a Saturday evening and we had a great evening. Both the food, generously good and the very courteous service, made us have a pleasant time. I recommend 100% and we will definitely go back. Kid-friendliness: I came with a stroller and they did everything to welcome us on the terrace.
really great food, a great discovery, smiling people who are keen to offer warm service. Well done to the whole team!
Thank you for a more than successful birthday dinner
During our stay in Magog, we went out for a late dinner with my husband. It was already cool, but we ate on the back patio. There was a patio heater. It was very nice! The food was super good, and the ambiance and service were also excellent. The salad had pickled elements, which was sour and went perfectly with the fried cheese. I was surprised by the cold soup too. The lamb was tender and served with vegetables. The potatoes were like a sort of mille-feuille. It was very good too. Great experience overall!
Great service, the owner is really great. Everything was super good! THANKS
Excellent food! Very good service! The music is a little loud though!
We enjoyed our discovery of the braised lamb shank, beautiful presentation, very tender, succulent and good coffee, for my part the flank steak was succulent and cooked as desired, well done to the whole team and see you next time even at 1:15 p.m. of road thats your trip Brigitte and Michel, Saint Lambert
It was delicious! Well done gazpacho!!
This is just my opinion for what it is worth. Big disappointment despite the rating seen on the internet. We took a chance. A first and the last for us. $140 for large medium . Not bad, just ordinary. My criticisms: poorly balanced sangria, amaretto sour too sweet. The bang bang shrimp starter was the best part for us. The fish and chips and flank steak left us disappointed. Im sorry I dont have a better word. The most positive point was the friendliness of the staff which must be highlighted. (Returns to the answer: I did not call you a liar for the prices, I think that they are simply not representative. That being said, perhaps others will appreciate it more than us.)
Beautiful evening on the terrace, roof was excellent and choice of music was excellent
Best Shrimp Risotto I had
Not very generous plates despite the price, good risotto, ordinary fish + chips. Ambient music too loud. Finally almost $175 for 1 risotto $38, 2 fish + chips at $29 each and three drinks. REALLY, its not worth it. There are plenty of other good restaurants on the main one. Treat yourself elsewhere.
Very good place to eat and the service is very good. Small terrace at the back which gives a small view of the lake but also of the backyard (parking)... Try the fish and chips and the pudding chômeur! A real delight!
In summary, the art of giving as little as possible for as much as possible..the cheapest plate is $30 and the rest is $40 per plate..the food is passable without more..2 tiny plates a small pitcher $125 plus $15 of tips..the impression of having made me happy
Very good restaurant, delicious meal of squid and snails. Exceptional service, great kindness, beautiful evening
Great service and atmosphere! I recommend the tuna tataki which is delicious!
The dishes were ordinary, too much sauce. Service ok. Average price quality.
One of the best restaurants in Magog
The food was excellent but the main course arrived much too quickly, the aperitif was not finished, we felt in a hurry to eat.
I took my wife here for a Valentines date. The service was pleasant and the food was spectacular. The atmosphere was cozy, too. Our favorite was the gnocchi course, delicious sauce! We would gladly eat at Taverne 1855 again
The restaurant seems to be very popular. But our verdict: You can only barely read the menu with glasses and the low brightness at the bar. The linguine carbonara was drowned in the tasteless sauce (sorry, but Italian carbonara are without onions), the quality of the meat (also drowned in sauce) didnt do justice to the price. This could certainly be done better.
Exceptional atmosphere and service, absolutely delectable tuna and salmon tataki! Dont hesitate.
The service is not up to par, we were rushed. Deficient wine choice and too focused on a Canadian offering. Impossible to taste the wine before ordering. Too bad because the food served is good. Very ordinary experience for the price of a dinner in a good Montreal restaurant. UPDATE Following the restaurateurs response, I must express the extent of my disappointment at seeing the content of private conversations on Open Table revealed here, in public. Comments are intended to improve the tables and are not personal criticisms. The fact of insulting the consumer by insinuating here that I am comparing a regional Bistro to a restaurant like Toqué is ridiculous. I simply explained that it is possible to pay very very expensive and find that the cost is worth the price (eg: Toqué) and to pay much much less (Taverne 1855) and find it too expensive if the overall experience is not there. I am disappointed by this reaction. The expected attitude is an empathetic reaction, not endless justification every time a customer didnt enjoy their experience.
Delicious food. Wide selection of drink options. Bilingual service. I will highly recommend the Black Angus flank.
I have been to that restaurant many times and it is always delicious! The owner is very friendly as well! I like to bring friends there and everybody is always beyond satisfied!! Can t wait to ga back!
Simply WOWWWW
One of the best experiences in Magog! Very tasty and great service
Definitely overpriced. We looked at the menu online thinking it was overpriced not knowing it was from a year ago just to arrive there and see approximately a 10-15% increase. The onion soup was under par but okay. The hanger steak with vegetables was very good. The service was good. All in all, you can definitely find better options in Magog but you could do worse than 1855.
Excellent dining experience in a casual setting. Thoughtful, well-prepared menu leans towards comfort food. Well-chosen, reasonable wine list and attentive, friendly service elevate the experience even further.
One of the best restaurants in Estrie! Exquisite tuna tataki and tasty polpette! I recommend !
The food and service was great, but the atmosphere left much to be desired. The outside terrace overlooks mostly parking lot, and the local businesses were constantly throwing their garbage out in their dumpsters while we ate. Id recommend eating inside.
We had made a reservation, but it was not necessary, the restaurant was practically empty when we arrived. The waitress still guided us to a table at the back of the restaurant next to the restroom. We had to ask for a better table. The calamari was limp and not at all crispy. The flank steak was served under a mountain of fries and a small salad on the side. On the menu it was advertised as 6 ounces but was actually only 4 ounces. I mentioned this to the waitress and she said the steaks were weighed in advance and were all 6 ounces. Towards the end of the meal, she offers me a dessert to make up for it. I chose the crème brûlée which was served cold and the fudge on top. In short, it is a very expensive restaurant for very ordinary cuisine and no atmosphere. The service was okay. I dont recommend.
A must for epicureans and bon vivants! Exquisite food, intoxicating music, attentive staff, cellar to discover; everything to please! Highly recommended!
A Thursday summer evening . Not many customers there! My lover ate 2 starters and I ate the tuna tataki! It melted in your mouth! We recommend!
Excellent food, taste was incredible, beautiful atmosphere, service was very good, but you have to be patient as very popular place to be on a Saturday night. BTW this is not a negative point, just an observation, but the experience as a whole is well worth the wait. I recommend this place to anyone in Magog who want a exceptional meal worth the price.
Super good restaurant menu quite limited but well varied and excellent :)
My partner and I had a superb evening at Taverne 1855. Impeccable service from the beautiful Béatrice, and what can we say about the tuna tataki. The best Ive eaten, no joke!! We recommend without hesitation.
Hearty and tasty dishes. Efficient service.
A simple dinner, a Wednesday evening, a memorable experience, a first, and not the last, a meeting with the friendly owner, remarkable dishes, we will return for sure!
Beautiful place with good cuisine worthy of bistromie. It s a shame that a poor little Tonnerre wine for 10 euros is here for $84 a bottle
A little lack of vegetarian choice, without meat. I ate starters. Really excellent mushroom soup Parking: Municipal parking
Fantastic food
We were disappointed by our experience at Taverne 1855. We ordered a Calmar starter. The dish we were served consisted of half a salad (which was excellent) but the squid was very oily and the sauce lacked flavor. Then the risotto was not cooked despite the excellent taste. The flank steak (which was not tender) was served on a very small board which made it difficult to cut. The lamb was tasteless and the gratin was not good. In short, a disappointing experience for the very high prices. Addition: Whether the waiter came to ask multiple times or not, there were problems with every dish so it doesnt justify the high price if you arent able to deliver the goods. Also, your response to my comment and that of others shows that customer service is not your cup of tea as well.
Seriously....the BEST tuna tataki in the world!! Im really impressed my boyfriend loved his shrimp risotto.. .... which melted in your mouth
Personally, and this is my opinion, but more than $35 including tax and tip for an ordinary fish & chip bin is not worth the trip.
Best restaurant ever!
Cozy! Attentive staff! Delicious food!
5 star dining experience! We loved the decor, the atmosphere and the excellent music. Fast and very warm service. The surprise dish on the menu, the guinea fowl, was divinely good!!!
It totally ticks! We come back...often!
Super service
Good food, good service, wine a little overpriced. Great atmosphere!
Excellent ! Really delicious crab cake starter! Delicious salmon tartare, good service despite heavy traffic. The wine is really too expensive and the fish and chips really too salty, we will come back and try the other dishes.
The quality of the dishes makes the experience so tasty and enjoyable! The menu is smaller, but with plenty of variety. We want to take everything! Well have to come back to it! The rear view of the river is perfect in the evening! Not too much sun. Pleasant time with friends!
good food.. excellent flank steak and bang bang shrimp as a starter good and nice size however, the semi-cooked dessert is a mini semi-cooked, and normally, the pleasure of eating this dish is to see the inside of the cake flowing on the plate when you insert the fork... impossible for this one as it is served in a ramekin with ice cream on it, so you cant see it... and the price of the wine is a little exaggerated, we only had one glass rather than a bottle (comparing with other restaurants of the same type and quality of the wine offered) its sure that we are in Magog but still... It was very good!
A bit pricey, great food and cozy!
Very good but you have to book otherwise you will have to wait
Mmmm tuna tataki! Stupid!
The food is simply delicious, The tuna tataki is very well presented, served quickly, the portions and flavors are very well balanced. We see the research in this main dish and it is successful. The team was very professional and I congratulated the kitchen team. Thank you, you will see us again!
Great restaurant, from the atmosphere to the food to the staff, everything was perfect. A place we will return to and which we recommend without hesitation
Bad in 2018...second chance after 4 years he charges me the bread without telling me when I order it...to avoid
The tuna is fabulous!
Truly delicious!!! Relaxed atmosphere with good little blues! I really loved it!! THANKS !
Still excellent!
Place to discover Cozy atmosphere Most personalized service Quality product Thank you both for these beautiful moments
We had another excellent dinner this evening at 1855. Excellent service and also excellent advice from Jenny for wine pairings. To do again. We brought Mothers Day forward a little but we didnt want to take the risk of going back to red and not celebrating this moment.
The meal was good but nothing more, a little too salty as was the bill. Given the mostly positive reviews from other customers, we will come back another day to try again but we were not convinced by our first visit! Good luck to the team in these difficult times.
Its excellent! Very well served, lovely atmosphere!
Ordinary food and slightly overpriced
The dishes are good but the portions are small for the asking price
Interesting dishes but also the bill
There were 4 of us last night (June 19). Its a shame that the culinary experience was spoiled by tasteless service from the staff. We had the impression of disturbing you. Very little warm welcome. We didnt expect Thats it. Very unfortunate because the dishes were exceptional.
A beautiful place with a beautiful atmosphere and delicious food! The service was friendly and fast. An impeccable experience!!!
I ate a fish & chip it was very good unfortunately when the young waitress at the bar took my plate and the piece of fish fell off my plate and the waitress took the piece of fish with her fingers and she there Rémi on my plate. Its not strong especially its time. I made the remark to him but I dont feel any more. Other than that I had good service. Happy season!
A MUST!
First experience, the waitress overtakes events.. She comes after we have waited 20 minutes, she asks us if we want to order cocktails we say yes and that we also want to order starters she tells us that she does not she doesnt have time to prepare cocktails for a nearby table... Its already starting very badly, a lack of enthusiasm and professionalism, she seems tired even in her tone of voice, no joy. Subsequently, the buss boys, a young and dedicated team, truly rigorous and courteous, bring us starters and constantly fill our glasses of water. We finish our starters and our main courses arrive straight away, we wanted to order wine but the waitress is still not there, I imagine she must be making cocktails at the bar..... The majority of our dishes are accompanied by fries. The oil has long been time to change it, the taste was really disturbing, we just told the waitress and we also had to order our bottle of wine for dinner when our dish had already arrived.. I think so by the way that she was the only one who took orders so I understand her fatigue the owner should be understanding with her and hire more staff the pandemic is not a reason it has already been several weeks that the restaurants have been open to the public. It was the construction weeks Magog is always very busy the owner should have known that.
Very good service and food
I recommend this restaurant to everyone!
Overpriced, poor service. I m not paying 30$ a plate to have my food brought out in under 5 minutes. At least try to make it seem like its freshly made, toss it in tje nuker for all i care.
We enjoyed each of our visits this summer to 1855 Magog! Good food and service!
Hidden gem
Small friendly place. The food is good.
We went this evening and we really liked the service and what can we say about the exceptionally succulent meal
Great experience!!!!. The quality of the food and the service is excellent. Never disappointed when we go there. I highly recommend
Everything is very good. Very kind staff
Succulent risotto but disappointing dessert!
Red tuna tataki Excellent !
One of the best restaurants I have eaten at in my life
This restaurant is tops. Every meal weve had there has been delicious. Looking forward to trying more offerings. All the staff has been friendly, courteous and professional. Will be going back soon...very relaxing.
Small place , excellent food , small menu have the Tuna !
Disappointing. The service was mechanical, in no way personalized, almost stupid. In my opinion, displaying two different prices and charging the highest to the customer while mentioning the Codiv tax is simply not done. On the other hand, the food was excellent; but value for money, a little expensive.
Superb, very warm atmosphere. Good staff The food is delicious in every way. I recommend the experience!
Good food and service.
The food was amazing. We had the Argentinian shrimp risotto and the bavette. Prob the best risotto I had and the steak was cooked as we wanted (medium). Ambiance was great too (partitions up)!
Excellent food and blues music (not live). Nice ambiance and service. The only negative is that they pour their beers short consistently.
Really disappointing...
Such a cozy place. We could hear each other talking. Nice welcome. Fast service due to the fact that there are limited places inside. Starter, meal, dessert, cocktails: a delight. Thanks for everything
Superb beautiful little Bistro with its Blues music and its warm decor. The dishes are excellent and the food is of very good quality. Ive been there a few times now and each time all the dishes are just as delicious! We leave LONGUEUIL to go to dinner in this magnificent Bistro and what can we say about the owners, always so welcoming and charming. For a lovely dinner with your partner or friends, you will want to return again and again! P.S It is preferable to book at in advance, its super popular...
Warm spot to eat or have a beer!
European brasserie style restaurant. Benches, wooden tables, blackboard menu, animated table, with its open kitchen... Beautiful evening, refined pairings, very well prepared. No need for more. We will come back for sure. THANKS.
Excellent as always,
I visited the restaurant yesterday afternoon. It was my 2nd visit so we can understand that the 1st visit went well. This time, it was very disappointing, not by the food but rather by the attitude towards a particular situation. I received my entry with a white hair that sat prominently on my plan. I removed the hair and pushed back my dish because my appetite was gone. Without making a scene. The waitress seeing my dish asked me what was wrong, explaining the situation to her and especially showing her the white hair which was placed clearly on the charcoal table and I said I dont want another starter, thank you. She took the dish, without apology. The cooks who were right in front of my eyes since they were sitting on the bench in front of the kitchens did not flinch and mentioned nothing. One of the chefs with salt-and-pepper, greasy hair and a cap continued to serve the dishes with a certain nonchalance. It can happen but ignoring it is worse. She offered 10% on the total amount of the food and not on the total bill including the drink, for $4.50. A poorly offered $4.50 especially because my return to this establishment is unlikely. Sad. Take care of your customers, dear owners.
Original cuisine, friendly service, beautiful decor and a chef with great talent
We really wanted to eat there, but seeing the two cooks chatting, laughing and skipping the food (very close to their mouths) WITHOUT A MASK made us get out of there!! No respect for COVID safety measures! No consideration for the health of their customers!
Cookers are not putting masks. Also they were talking together and laughing while they are cooking and all that with no MASK !! The Covid-19 is not over yet and we all have to respect the health and security measures in the restaurants!
Best place to come and eat when we are in Magog! The food is amazing :)
What a great discovery. Very nice menu. The lamb shank was excellent and the salmon was on point. The 1855 beer is excellent, a nice beer to drink on the terrace while watching the boats go by. We will go back!!
Everything was very good, the semi-cooked is absolutely divine!
On the check mark
Best flank steak EVER!!!!! I would do Repentigny-Magog and back to eat it again! Everything is good!
A little expensive for what it is: 30 dollars for a decent salmon tartare but the portion is small: I was still hungry when I left. Average service: We waited 15 minutes to be able to pay despite several requests, the waitress putting her friends first... The place and the decor are nice.
Very good meal, very good atmosphere. I recommend! Especially with a good chef like Éric. A beautiful menu with good meals to try. Regional duck poutine with everything local. It is pure happiness and delight. I love local and traditional more than anything. Well done!
Good but a bit expensive
I really liked everything! We shared the duck poutine, what a delight! then I stop at the duck, once again very good! And the young waitress, their owners daughter, very nice. Very happy to have discovered this place
Excellent restaurant Delicious and very nice
Its very good, not exceptional but good value for money. There was no atmosphere when I went there. The restaurant was full but we couldnt hear music but everyones conversations. It improved a little later on the music side but at the beginning there was no intimacy or atmosphere.
The service was generous and friendly. Secondly, I dont eat meat or animal products and when I dined here it was no problem for them to improvise and cook a delicious meal for me.
So far the best steak I have eaten in Magog! The atmosphere will charm you, its a real warm tavern that you dont want to leave before the last bite of their delicious dessert. A 5 star for you! We will go back!!!!
pleasant atmosphere. Generous starter and main meal portion. Tasty. Delicious. Tasty. THANKS
The service was rude, the food looks nice but taste like fast food.
Total disappointment, salty food, amateurish presentation, extremely poor service given by the owner herself, no smile, no return to the table, no attention, doomed to failure in my opinion if changes are not made. Luckily, this restaurant is located in a tourist town, which will allow it to remain in service and to get back on track to push the menu and especially the service to the level of the asking price and expectations.
The best restaurant in the neighborhood, Ive been here several times and its always delicious. The atmosphere is great, even better than a Joël Robuchon restaurant
I loved it , awesome care for the costumer by the chef !
I recommend without hesitation, delicious and very good service!!
It was extremely hard to get here due to construction work on the street. The food is excellent. Great flavors, my entrée was a very well cooked calamari with a mesculan salade with an flavorful vinaigrette. The Jarret dagneau was so tender with good veggies and an excellent sauce. Great job guys! Félicitations
Oufff very disappointed... the disappointing service, our waitress did not answer our questions and even left our table leaving us without an answer... little advice do not take a burger the meatball is smaller than at McDonalds in the mc value menu, but 5x more expensive....
Great value for money. Very good service
An absolutely delicious restaurant. The food is incredible, the flavors are original, the service is fantastic, a great time we had. One of the best restaurants in Magog
Good service, excellent food. The trip is worth it, even with the construction in the city center!
Divine!.... We love this restaurant and the owners!.... The atmosphere is good, some of the best food ever eaten.... Beautiful large table in the back for a small group....
Very nice place, the tartare is delicious
We were very disappointed with our meal unfortunately. The salmon tartare, in particular, was squashed to the bottom of the plate, buried in mixed greens, tasteless. The lamb shank wasnt bad, but in the height of harvest season, we would have hoped for better than French shallots and raw kale as a vegetable stir-fry. Everything could have been done in any bistro, but we expected a lot from a restaurant of this reputation.
Very mixed experience... Certain irritants make me give it 3* and no more. The tomato and melon gazpacho is delicious and my partner really liked its velouté. For the main meal, my partner had the lamb shank and it was cooked to perfection. I had the shrimp risotto. When I received it I started looking for the shrimp. I called the waitress over and told her that some shrimp was missing. She asked me if the risotto tasted like bisque. Uhhh, I dont know, it seems to me that its up to her to take charge...especially since when I got the right order, the color of the risotto was completely different. She should have known. So I tried the vegetarian risotto which was very good, but it would have missed the dried tomatoes. So I had an incomplete dish from one and the wrong order from the other. The waitress was inexperienced, she didnt apologize, she seemed confused herself. Then for dessert, I ordered the soft chocolate cake. Disappointment. Its a Bundt type cake and there are limits to how soft this type of cake can be. I was expecting a standard super soft cake. The chocolate ganche was OK. Hard to miss anyways. The worst part was the caramel/sugar cream sauce that came with it. Phew, she was burned for sure. The bitter taste in your mouth you ho lala. I told the waitress, who was still confused. I even asked him if we hadnt put local beer in the sauce to make it more local, hence the bitterness. No sorry maam you didnt like it. Lack of experience from the dining room staff. Disappointment with the portion of risotto, served in the same as the soup plate, so for the price ishhh The veggie risotto was better cooked than the shrimp risotto. Disappointment of the chocolate cake at $7. Edit August 16, 2019 in response to the owner: I understand that you are suggesting that I call you to discuss this, but what do you want me to say? All my points are in my original review. As for asking the manager or the owner...uh no not in this case and like 95% of the population, we are not going to bring the manager when we have spoken to the waiter. We dont make a scene. It is up to your staff to appear ( flaguer in good Quebecois) and to refer to you. Example: we go to Keg and the steak ordered is well cooked instead of rare, well we told the waitress, who left with the plate, the manager came to apologize and offer a little extra and the good steak came back. End of story, happy customers. I think the restaurant overall is interesting and the menu is promising, beautiful decor but still a couple of things to refine. Its normal to have high expectations as a customer when you present yourself the way you do. You may also be affected by the labor shortage.
Not only is it beautiful for the eyes but its also very good for the tummy! I loved it
I had the soup, lamb shank and crème brûlée for dessert and nothing to say, everything was good!
Failed fish n chips classic: the frying was soft and the fish cold
Truly delicious! Very good service. Linguini carbonara and shrimp risotto... a must. Excellent wine advice.
What treats! In my humble opinion, this restaurant is one of the best in the region: refined cuisine full of flavors, beautifully presented plates, distinctive decor... A favorite!!! It would be better to book.
Beautiful place, beautiful terrace, beef tartare a little too vinegary, Jinnys sugar tart excellent
Last Wednesday evening I went to dinner, very nice atmosphere and a very good dinner and well recommended
We are a family of 5 who visited your establishment this Wednesday August 14 around 7pm. We were seated in the front, in the corner, facing the windows. We sat for 25 long minutes without anyone coming to see us. Despite our calls to the waitress to at least order drinks. The waitress ignored us the whole time and we left when we saw that she was taking orders from other customers who arrived 25 minutes after us. We couldnt taste the food.
Very nice dinner. Something for everyone, including a fine vegetarian choice. Presentation, flavors, service were all very good.
Quality and variety of dishes. Friendly service.
Another 2019 favorite, a truly magnificent place
Magnificent moment. Good service and food...wow. So delicious.
The steak was melt in your mouth perfect, with friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. The best food in Magog
Quite mediocre experience... salmon tartare with the texture of poorly thawed fish that has been bathed in water. Made at home we wouldnt have eaten it... Correct vegetarian risotto. Prices difficult to understand for the quality.
Lovely space, great lunch at reasonable prices.
Pleasant setting but very disappointing in the end. The choice is difficult because the map is non-existent. You need good eyesight to read the slates on the walls. The dishes are basic. The mayonnaise shrimp are fried in fritters which is disappointing for a French restaurant. Its also a shame to have sauce everywhere (meat + fries) and you have to love beets (theyre everywhere...) As for the service, it is not up to par... We ordered an escalope and it was a flank steak that arrived. Instead of apologizing and offering to change the dish, the waitress assured that she had of course a flank steak. Finally, she came back to ask us for explanations when she did not get the expected tip. Mind-blowing!!! We almost get yelled at
The pretty high prices asked in this restaurant mean that clients can and should have pretty high expectations. We did have pretty high expectations, but unfortunately the quality of the food and service just didnt quite meet them. My wife ordered lamb, which was very tender, but lacking on the rich taste of lamb. I ordered a steak medium-pink (medium-rosé) , which seemed to baffle the waitress who asked in return medium-bloody (medium-saignant) ? I replied that I didnt want it bloody or raw, just.. Pink (rosé). She ended up taking the order as medium-bloody anyway, and I ended up with a $30 steak that was a lot more raw than I like, that was quite rubbery and somewhat tasteless. Also, with a good 15+ minutes of waiting just for a piece of pie (with my normally patient kid starting to lose his patience), paired with a waitress that wasnt too friendly nor attentive to the clients needs, I cant say that the service was as good as it should have been. The 2 stars are actually for the sides served with the meat, which were very good. One star off for the tasteless meat (Im sorry to say that I ate my steak more out of spite then joy) and another star off for the so-so service. In short, at this price we expected a treat and came out of there quite disappointed, so the value for the price explains the 3rd star off. Once again, Im sorry for this low rating, but I just cant justify anything higher at this price range.
Perfect atmosphere and flavors
Oh well... nice terrace
Its a very good restaurant!
Everything was amazing!! The calamari was delicious!!
Small and cozy restaurant. It was over crowded. Late service. Few staff to attend to all guests. Kitchen also too small to process multiple orders. Tried sword fish and taste wise it was good but the quantity was less than expected.
Surprising!!
Slow service. Appetizers were great, the main course was disproportionate across our table. Fruit flies fell in my beer. Overall not a good evening at this location.
Price too high for average quality
The food and service were great!
Very few choices on the menu which is only displayed on the wall. Entrance far too expensive. Very salty dish.
3rd time visited....first time (3 months ago) very good & very impressed; 2nd time, not quite as good & the fabulous detailed descriptions of the meals did not correspond with the actual meal :-( 3rd visit, both of us were very disappointed with the food for the price tag: 3 large shrimp in risotto for $28 & a small piece of bavette with BBQ sauce for $28 ! Unfortunately, wont go back again.... its gone downhill from our first visit to our last 4th time visited.....tried them again, food was much better, actually good, but we could have been served by a robot. Server was totally impersonal, no warmth, not welcoming.....basically a robot, taking down the order & delivering the food.
Good breakfast
Cozy place!
Tasty food.....organic compton vegetables......succulent and delicious
