Walwyn Rd, Malvern WR13 6QG, United Kingdom
Tudor Revival property offering stylish rooms, plus a bar, a restaurant & gardens.
Lovely hotel in a quiet setting. We had a suite room and it was spacious, beautifully decorated with a relaxing hot bath! The staff were all super friendly and welcoming. We had a drink in the bar but didn't eat there, the hotel arranged a taxi for us into Malvern which was helpful. The cooked breakfast the next morning was adapted to be vegan and was very filling, oat milk was out on the breakfast buffet which was fab, we had to ask for vegan butter but they did have it which was great. We'd happily stay again.
Had a great 2 night stay at this super dog friendly hotel. They really do love dogs here and nothing is too much trouble. Lovely staff, great food and even a sausage for the dog at breakfast. ||The room was lovely, warm, very clean and spacious and met all requirements when you are travelling with your furry friend. Best couple of nights sleep I've had in ages.||Great walks can be accessed just over the railway bridge close by.||Will definitely be back.
Absolutely perfect. We all - including Poppy spaniel- felt welcomed. Very dog friendly with A super garden for her to play in . This was our first visit to a hotel with her . Restaurants were excellent too. We'll be back.
Just back from a lovely 3 night break at this hotel. From start to finish we felt really looked after. They catered well for my big clumsy boxer Bruce. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. We ate there all weekend and the food was top notch. A huge Sunday lunch was the highlight. Very spacious, clean and comfortable room. The hotel is a stones throw from the train station and over the bridge some lovely walks in the hills. Shame the weather was so bad as we’d have liked to do a bit more walking. Can’t fault the location or hotel. I’d definitely come back. Great job everyone !
Excellent hotel close to the Malvern Hills. The food is excellent. There was live music when we visited. The Hotel welcomes well-mannered dogs. Enjoy your stay. Five stars.
Had my friends baby shower here yesterday and it was fabulous, they couldn't do enough for us from the moment we walked in and decorated the room. The most helpful, polite staff and the afternoon tea was so good, selection of lovely sandwiches and amazing cakes. We also had our own room which we weren't charged extra for. The hotel is decorated beautifully and the toilets are immaculate.
We stopped and had afternoon tea here our way back from a holiday in Devon. We arrived an hour early but were seated straightaway. |Staff were friendly and the food was good. The room was nicely laid out - tables not too close so you couldn’t hear others conversations. We couldn’t manage it all and took a goody bag away with us.|We paid using a voucher which was good value.
Excellent dog friendly hotel lovely staff & spacious room. Perfect location with train station a few metres from hotel. Good cafe & small supermarket close by. Good food, excellent service when 20 of us had Sunday lunch! Very attentive staff in bar.
Open mic night was great, friendly staff
Great hotel. Lovely stay
Hosted a party here, service and food was great, rooms after were fairly priced and the staff were very accommodating
OK
Amazing Afternoon Tea and great service from super staff that could not do enough for us! Highly recommended!
A beautiful country hotel with large grounds, great for a drink in the sun whilst the kids run around.
Food and drinks: Lovely food and service. Service
Really cosy nice attentive staff
I great hotel, rooms are a bit dated but clean.
My wife and I booked a superior room for three nights. When we arrived at the hotel reception the night manager was dealing with a very irate and dissatisfied customer... After 10 mins hanging around we were shown to our room. The room was very tired and work out. The mattress was awful and the water pressure to the sink was terrible as was the Ill fitting toilet seat. Mould everywhere and paint peeling off to name a few. After one night of uncomfortable sleep we were shown another room which was almost as depressing as the first but this time when I stood in the bath my head nearly rubbed the mould stricken ceiling. It was so awful we left after two nights and didnt bother with a refund request because I wouldnt stay here ever again... The staff however were professional and lovely expect the awful bloke we met on the first night who definitely needs some training..... Location was also good as was parking but for £100 a night Id much rather sleep in my car than in the hotel....
AMZING staff food and atmosphere
Attended a wedding here last weekend and wow, service, accommodation and facilities are amazing
Delicious food - plenty of choice! Walkability: Right next to Colwall train Station Food and drinks: 100% recommend their club sandwiches!
Lovely dog- friendly at the foot of Malvern Hills. Rooms were clean & well appointed. Food was delicious with a good selection. Service during our stay was very friendly & attentive.
Dirty kettle very hot no air-conditioning
Went for lunch for our wedding anniversary. Lovely meal. Very helpful staff.
Situated in the beautiful Malvern hills the hotel is picture perfect. Great service from polite and friendly staff. Only visited for afternoon tea but would gladly recommend.
Comfy, friendly bar serving tasty meals during the day. Very near the train station. A life-saver when my train was delayed 2 hours because of a lightning strike.
Had an excellent lunch here with family - great service, and the food was delicious - the chefs and staff are clearly working very hard here and we had a great meal!
We had a lovely stay. They were very kind to Prince and he had lots of treats on his arrival :) Lovely choice of coffee & teas in the room, with fresh water, which was greatly appreciated. Breakfast exceeded expectations, croissants were delicious, very fresh and the breakfast was very generous I couldnt finish it all :)! Lovely staff, allowed me to keep the room for one hour longer as I needed to pop to an appointment, I was very grateful for that. Great location!
Absolutely amazing staff..location is brilliant for many walks
For dogs, this hotel is wonderful. They take such good care of your four-legged friend that its worth the trip. They have a paw wash for the muddy walks, free biscuits, a sausage at breakfast and bowls of water. We were put at the top of the hotel, in the eves and it was a challenge being 1.87m and not banging your head. The shower was like going in a closet, being severely head restricted. Other than that, its highly recommended. Walkability: The area has lots of walks from strenuous to less impactful. Many of these are through the countryside, which is lovely in good weather and a definite need for wellies in the rain. Food and drinks: The restaurant is open from lunchtime through to 9pm. Decent options and a fair price.
Lovely dog friendly pub.
Hotel wasn t the luxury standard the website implied. We had a dog friendly room so don t expect immaculate but it was very tired. Many cracks, shower positioned awkwardly, very uncomfortable beds, no hanging space other than wardrobe that didn t stay shut, blinds that let light in etc.. for a superior room this felt, I m afraid to say, inferior. Bar/restaurant ok but no draft beer on arrival due to pumps issue. Breakfast was fairly good. Staff all very friendly and nice but didn t make up for it for me.
What a wonderful hotel, so dog friendly. Best hotel I ve been to for dogs by %1000 Rooms: Beautiful rooms with a nice big bath to chill out after a day walking or work
What an incredible gem in the Malvern countryside down with partner and our hairy daughter (the dog!) for work. We were welcomed with open arms into luxury. Rooms are beautiful, staff couldnt do more to help and the surroundings are breathtaking **HIGHLY RECOMMEND** Rooms: Clean, comfy, large, spacious and beautifully decorated. Food and drinks: Tasty food and well presented.
We stayed at Colwall as it was a good location to explore the Malvern Hills and it prides itself of being very dog friendly. Only the dog bed was probably more comfortable of the one we had. I cannot believe this hotel could deny their customers of the most essential thing there s to be from a hotel a comfortable mattress to sleep on . You could literally feel and count every spring in the mattress. The room in itself was very modest and in need of touch in places. The linens weren t fresh either as I lay my head down the pillow smelled musty and dirty. We booked for two nights and needless to say we cancelled the second one and got ourselves an air bnb which was exceeding our expectations. Shocking!! Would not recommend, or even dream of returning.
Great location, great welcome, great staff. Will be back soon!! Cheers!!
First time taking our dog away with us due to worry s of it being too stressful but needn t have worry about anything because this place was so perfect and relaxed.
Rooms
Absolutely loved it. Beautiful place with an amazing staff and food.
We dropped in for afternoon tea, hoping to take a short walk afterwards. The hotel bar was quite busy but we were shown to an adjacent dining room which was very pleasantly decorated, if a little dark and devoid of a view. Afternoon tea was pleasant with an array of finger sandwiches, cakes and a scone each. All nicely presented. Scones were slightly too crusty but the overall offering was very nice and the bar was certainly popular. We couldnt find the path from the gardens so drove to another venue for our walk as its a beautiful area.
We booked this Hotel to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary, Our room number 2 was quite charming clean and tidy. The bathroom is nice and after youve been walking through the Malvern Hills its great to have a good soak .Breakfast which was included in the price was really nice with various drinks and foods from the self serve table and to order. Our main meals were very much enjoyed with good portions. Staff were very proffessional cheerful and friendly. Over all very happy with everything and hope to go again .There is a local conveniance store not far and a Pharmacy opposite the Hotel. Many thanks .
Lovely place staff are very friendly and helpful food is great and so are rooms will be back
Nice place, good character. The room was decorated nicely though needed some care and attention. Side panel coming away from the bath. The pillows however were not fresh at all. I asked for them to be replaced due to the fairly strong used smell. It appeared to me they just sprayed them with Fabreze. Not great. Breakfast was nice. Rooms: In need of some care and attention. Bed pillows not clean. Walkability: Lovely walks around the area.
I had afternoon tea here, with 2 friends, one of whom has a food allergy. The hotel was very adaptable with respect to the allergy and the tea was tasty
If you have a dog, you will love this place
Very nice place to stay within walking distance to Malvern hills. Food was amazing and service was 10 out of 10 Food and drinks: Amazing food and great friendly staff
Helpful and welcoming staff, characterful rooms, excellent evening meal and breakfast, and great walks from the doorstep! Really good value on the winter break deal with afternoon tea included. Rooms: Our room was large and characterful. There were a couple of areas that could have done with some minor maintenance but on the whole it was very good Walkability: Very short walk from station, but didnt notice any train noise from in the hotel. Walks into the Malvern hills directly from the hotel Food and drinks: Excellent afternoon tea, evening meal and breakfast
We had afternoon tea which was delicious. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Lovely experience. The environment was clean but a bit tired.
Not a great experience at all unfortunately. Awful customer service and average food.
Food and drinks: My wife and I were provided with an excellent afternoon tea.Fresh homemade scones, sandwiches and cakes. As much tea as you can drink. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Service
We booked an afternoon tea using a gift voucher from my fiance for my birthday. The service was fast and friendly. The food was very tasty and plentiful. Staff were very attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. A wonderful dining experience, would love to return in the future to maybe sample the Sunday roast which other dining were enjoying.
Meant to post a review of this dog friendly hotel after we stayed, with our dog, from 30-Dec-22 to 02-Jan-23 (via PetsPyjamas) but felt unable to do so as we had nothing to compare it with until our latest New Year break near Stratford upon Avon. The Colwall hotel is very dog friendly and is extremely welcoming almost as though you are friends of the family. We were allowed to dine or relax with our dogs in every part of the hotel and the rooms were all internally located. Meals in the hotel were very tasty and there was plenty of choice. All of the visiting dogs were fussed over by the staff and dog treats and water was freely available. Nothing was too much trouble and we will definitely return in the future. The hotel is located very near to a railway station which can either go to Worcester or Hereford. The nearest town, Malvern, is quaint but hilly and there are plenty of dog walking areas in the locale.
I often pop in here for a drink after a long walk on the Malvern Hills. This is a great place to relax and wind down.
I was there for a Club Cristmas party and we had pre ordered our food from a choice of 3 for each course. My choice for the main course was a mistake and the dish I had chosen was far too salty and I didnt enjoy it. The decor in the hotel is a bit over the top! Rooms
OK did feel like an outsider. Expensive drinks
Very nice traditional style hotel, you will not be disappointed.
Hotel for Dogs with Service Without a shadow of a doubt, this was an ideal place to stay with our legged friend and we weren t alone .. Secondly, it is important to give credit where it is due, to all the amazing people giving their best to create an amazing experience and an attentive service.
Valentines Day treat for us. Venue us nicely situated, and looks cosy although the dining room was a bit cold. The staff were friendly and welcoming, so we had high hope for a good evening. The menu sounded good and mostly looked okay, but in reality some elements were disappointing. The sharer was on separate plates, so more of an amuse bouche than a sharer which confused people. The belly pork starter was nice, and quite flavoursome. The strawberry sorbet was good, nice texture and taste. The main beef course was tasty but not very warm even though the potato side dish was boiling, I asked for a steak knife as meat was quite firm and my partners meat was a bit sinewy, so buts has to be left. The chocolate mousse and ice cream sounded like it would be a nice light finish, but the mousse was very dense and had lumps of bownie/chocolate in so was in fact rather heavy going, although the salted caramel icecream tasted really yummy. Unfortunately rather then serving the mousse in a glass with icecream on the side, both were served as blobs on a plate alongside each other and didnt look very nice! Our coffee was good and you could choose what type you wanted, it came with a couple of homemade chocolates which were good, and two mini lemon tarts which were in fact pastry case with a completely liquid, mildly lemony cream which ran out as soon as you tried to bite it. Overall we thought the place was nice, staff very pleasant and food was okay for the price, but not as good as anticipated which was a shame.
This hotel was perfect for us and it is what it is. Very dog friendly with a separate eating area so you can have the dog with you when you dine. The rooms are clean, the shower wasnt powerful but did get you washed eventually. All being sed I would definitely stay here again
Fabulous stay at this classy but friendly hotel. Food was very good a decent range of drinks especially local gin cider and ale. Very comfortable and with some rooms and areas dog friendly. What made it outstanding was the service, from the bar staff, reception, food servers and cleaners all so genuinely friendly helpful and professional. Great to explore this stunning area with a bus from the front door and an hourly train from 50 yards away. An amazing stay.
Wonderful place, excellent cakes and cappuccinos, super dog friendly with dog wash facilities excellent would definitely recommend highly.
Can t really comment on the bedrooms, but the location and style of the hotel is wonderful. However, the service fell a little short with how rude some of the staff were. We didn t feel very welcome and one member of staff in particular was unpleasant, so we decided to have one drink and leave
Visited this boutique hotel for a cream tea which was lovely having been to Picton Gardens nearby first. The scones were warm and there was a generous portion of cream provided along with pot of jam, butter and a large pot of tea. Lovely decor in the bar and very comfortable seats. The village is very pretty although not much else there. Worth a visit if you are driving around that area which is AONB.
Lovely welcoming hotel - especially enthusiastic about dogs! (Dog biscuits on the counter, dog beds and bowls, dog wash Station for muddy paws!) The staff were all very helpful and friendly, the rooms were clean and smart and the food was nice - sort of posh pub grub (but with vegan options too.) They were also relatively relaxed about muddy boots and had plenty of walking maps etc available. Thanks for an enjoyable break in the beautiful Malverns!
Rooms: Our room had a lovely veiw but there were 2 flights of stairs to reach it. They offered to carry cases up to our room but not good if you have problems with stairs. We were fine. They had advised no lift. Rooms
Excellent hotel highly recommended Food and drinks: Food and breakfast were great Rooms : 5/5 |
Exceptional stay with our dog and able to take dog into the doggy friendly dining area at mealtimes too which is a massive bonus. So close to quiet railway station with beautiful walks beyond. Try it
We had our wedding at Colwall Park Hotel in March and I cannot recommend them enough. Nothing was too much hassle for the friendly staff. The food was lovely and the bridal suite was beautiful. As the staff had already set up the dining room the evening before, I was able to set up my decorations the evening before which meant the actual wedding day was stress free. I truly would recommend you get in touch with them asap if you re thinking about having your wedding there!
When we arrived it wasnt clear how to access the carpark. We entered the building and had to wait quite a while to be served and check in (could do with a bell at busy times). We were shown to our room (room 5)after asking if we had booked a table at the restaraunt for the evening. (I rang twice prior to arriving to make sure they had us down and was told yes. They didnt). But that wasnt a problem as luckily they werent that busy. Our room had been recently decorated to a nice standard however it was very small and contained a very small double bed, one could argue it was a 3/4 size. The hotel is situated on a main (busy) road, and the windows are substandard double glazed. (Summer must be a nightmare!) because it was loud even with the windows closed. We relaxed for a few hours prior to our evening meal. We arrived for our meal and the room where we were shown lacked character, very basic. We chose our food. I ordered the goats cheese to start, husband ordered the soup. I ordered the sirloin steak for main, husband ordered the burger. His fries were like rocks, his burger was burnt. By the time they came to ask us if everything was OK and we voiced our concerns I had nearly finished my food. They gave my husband a new top to his burger bun and asked if he would like more fries. This would have had to have been cooked fresh. We replied no. (They still charged us for our drinks!! Courtesy would have been to have let us have them as an inconvenience. The drinks are ridiculously over priced, medium glass of red wine , pint of cider £14!! We were shattered in the morning, didnt get much sleep! Due to the very loud and busy road. And made this known to the girl at reception. Breakfast unfortunately was in the same room as evening meal, lacked character. Seated reasonably quickly, poor selection of cold food. I ordered eggs benedict, yolks of eggs were firm! Must have been half a tablespoon of hollaindaise. Checked out paid what we owed for the drinks. Then a short time after leaving I was contacted by the hotel to say I owed money on the room. (The money I had paid on leaving!! To the woman who was ringing me) You couldnt make it up really. Sort it out and offer a better service. I dont mind you contacting me if you would like to offer me a refund. This was a surprise for my husbands birthday. I was embarrassed and disappointed.
Nice food, good service, great place.
Sadly I can t comment as we were a party of ten who were turned away for coffee and cake on a Sunday. However I feel it s understandable as it was Sunday lunchtime and they were fully booked for lunch, so it must be good!!
Great staff. Warm atmosphere.
Afternoon Tea at Colwall Park. Using a voucher gifted to us for afternoon tea. Sandwiches and cakes were fine as was the glass of Prosecco on arrival. Constructively I would say that the dowdy room used for afternoon tea didnt show the hotel off in a particularly good light. It certainly needed an upgrade, and didnt make you want to rush back to the hotel. Staff were excellent and attentive.
We booked a private event, a birthday party for our 9yo, at the Colwall Park Hotel and the venue and staff were next level awesome. - From the booking process - where the event manager was SO very responsive and helpful - to the setup - where the on-site liaison was SO accommodating and warm - to the event itself - where the event hostess went above and beyond (over and over and over) and the food was completely on point for the audience every single step was ridiculously well-executed and professional. I cannot recommend this venue highly enough. I tried to hire an external event planner to help me work through the details, but it turned out she was kooky and it also turned out that Colwall Park Hotel was so helpful that I didnt really even need her. Which was a blessing because the external event planner was REEEEEAAAL kooky. Unlike Karen, the event manager. Who was a calm balm. We received a lot of compliments for the event. Would absolutely recommend to others. Editing 2023-05 to add: we held another, more informal and intimate event here for Cinco de Mayo (a minor Mexican holiday) and the hotel exceeded expectations again. This place is a treasure.
An excellent place to stay with your dog. The food was of a very high standard.
Excellent staff, friendly, polite and helpful. We stayed 2 nights and our room was comy and clean, but the decor throughout needed a bit of TLC. Food was local, fresh and cooked perfectly.
Hotel tired, needs updating asap. Food was good, staff friendly , service could be on the slow side.
Nice food and location but the interior needs a revamp shame really.
Great food and drink, lovely location.
Great tasting menu.
Just had a fabulous two nights stay at Colwall Park Hotel, the area is beautiful, it was a wonderful surprise that the hills are so close to walk to. Our room was very comfortable, hotel staff were welcoming (especially to our lovely golden retriever) and helpful. Breakfasts, drinks in the garden, evening meal all perfect. The village of Colwall was peaceful and the history of the orchards and fruit farming in the area fascinating. Hoping we can head back to Malvern next year for another stay there. Nearby activities: Station nearby, walks to the Malvern Hills Noteworthy details: Very welcoming to dogs
Pros: * Nice and quiet location. * Free and easy parking. * Nice full breakfast. * A bar. * Free Wi-Fi. Cons: * No air conditioning. Although, the windows do open wide, and it was fine in early June. * Mattress is very bouncy. Felt like a bit trampoline. * The classic problem where one pillow is too thin and two is too tall. * Quite thin walls. * Wi-Fi is very slow (~1 Mbps download) and insecure (TKIP). Other: * We didnt use the shower.
The Staff are great, so helpful and friendly. The room originally put on the second floor, after requesting a ground floor on the booking. There are no ground floor rooms we were moved to first floor. There are no lifts the stairs look great but for someone with mobility issues there is no proper hand rails. With my stick to help not the easiest. The Shower produced a trickle just useless. The room decor (6) is very dark with a small window overlooking the roof of another part of the building. The breakfast was OK but nothing special. Overall Ive had a better experience in Premier Inns for less moneyl
Just popped in for a beer mid ride
Great stop for lunch, tasty pizza, good service, for those who loves animals, go for friendly ice-cream for your lovely dog everyone who stop by, seems to love it! Nearby activities: Stop by the church St Jhon, 2 min drive on left hand side, park in parking and walk around, taste their great country teas and home made cakes, very tasty
We had a fantastic 1 night stay here with travelzoo voucher. Evening meal was delicious and breakfast the same top quality ingredients. Would like to give a big shout out to Jude when we arrived he immediately asked if he could take our suitcase upstairs for us to the 1st floor room 4 without even being asked by the lovely girl on reception. Also he was fantastic in the dining room this young guy has people skills and very polite .... his mother should be proud. Room was a good size and nicely decorated bathroom very dated but adequate for our needs. Could do with a bath mat and a grab handle to step into the bath as very slippy. Overall a very nice stay great staff and a nice welcome. Would recommend this hotel.
Centre of village next to train station and shops. Places to sit inside and outside. Great food.
We had our wedding reception here, the venue and staff were amazing, very attentive and kept the day flowing wonderfully. Everything was dealt with for us and we had a great day because of it. Shout out to Karen for organising it all and the staff on the day. We are currently back again for our 1 year anniversary and the food is as good we remembered, its all our guests at the wedding talk about.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. No complaints. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Excellent settings friendly staff, nothing too much trouble
Lovely bar for a relaxing drink, not cheap, but a nice atmosphere.
A nice 2 nights away. Nice friendly staff especially the brother and sister who work there. The Mudslide cocktails were delicious thank you. The breakfast was filling and the evening meal was great.
Went for Sunday lunch very food good service good would go again
Hotel was fantastic, In a great location. Are friends dog was well looked after and became quite a celebrity. The staff could not do enough for us and the food was excellent. Another mention for the brother and sister duo who couldnt be more helpful and the chef on Friday night was a credit to the hotel.. Thanks and will defo come back. Nearby activities: Lovely local village with lots and lots of pubs on the river Food and drinks: Went to The plough and farrow fantastic dog friendly pub for Sunday lunch.
the breakfast service was really great and accommodating, they were able to make alterations for me to meet my diet requirements:))
Beautiful surroundings in the heart of Malvern. Comfortable rooms. Staff are so friendly and helpful and a great breakfast. Thankyou
Rooms were nice but old. Charming hotel. Good amenities. Superb breakfast (sauce on eggs benedict slightly too abundant and heavy, but nothing a bit of lemon cant fix)
Spent a super couple of days at the Colwall Park hotel. Its in a great location for exploring the Malvern area, with walks starting just a few yards away. When you check in, youre given sheets with different walks you can do of different lengths and durations. Dont know exactly how old the building is, but its got a nice traditional feel to it, which personally I love. Our room was comfortable and a good size. The hotel has nice grounds where you can sit and relax. Food was excellent, both breakfast and especially dinner which we ate in the bar. My wife loved her sea-bream, and my chicken burger was just amazing - so much better than any other chicken burger Ive had before, with actual pieces of chicken in a delicious thick tasty sauce. There were always local people in the bar in the evenings, which shows how well-liked the place is. And the main thing for us was that all the staff were just so friendly and helpful, from the reception, to the staff serving at breakfast, and the bar staff. We would definitely go straight back to the Colwall Park if we were in the area again. Nearby activities: Just nearby is the Picton Garden & Old Court Nurseries, which contains the National Collection of Michaelmas Daisies. It really is lovely there, so peaceful and brimming with colour from all the plants and flowers. Its free for RHS members, and otherwise just £5.
Room was reasonably good, breakfast and service were perfect. Definitely a recommended place to stay. Unfortunately we didnt get the chance to have an evening meal there. Perhaps next visit. Rooms
Had Sunday lunch, me and the wife and older sister. It was all a bit shabbier than expected. Tatty car park, awkward entrance for oldies and the bar was well used. Shown to our table by a very pleasant member of staff, she spoke clearly, welcomed us and smiled alot. The restaurant was a bit dark and gloomy, totally dominated by a full wall of aerial view of Colwall. The lunch was tasty and fresh, spoiled only by almost raw veg, the carrots especially and we had to ask for steak knives to cut the beef. Rating from all of us, out of 10 was around 6.5. Would we go again? Probably not.
Great place to visit Malvern Hills
Good location, good staff, good food , charming rooms and theres even a dog wellie wash outside. Definitely going back.
Top class restaurant
Perfect location. Rooms a little jaded. Very soft bed
Great stay, excellent breakfast and evening meal. Room was large and comfortable.
Village pub not country hotel. Room needed tlc. Curtains hanging off, paper coming away and
A few days away to recharge batteries Rooms: Nicely decorated with mostly dark greys . sadly window mostly frosted so no view and room dark Rooms : 4/5 |
Lovely afternoon tea!! Exactly what was needed after a walk around malvern hills.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The staff are welcoming, friendly and thoughtful. The place is sparkling clean and the food is really good. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Great location for exploring the Malverns and surrounding area. Decent sized rooms and plenty of car spaces in car park. Good choice of cooked breakfasts along with buffet.
The room was adequate and food reasonable
Surprisingly cosy pub - I havent stayed in the rooms. Often a log burner fired up, pleasant decor. Great chips!
I booked a stay at the dog-friendly Colwall Park through PetsPyjamas. The hotel was also super nice & the staff were lovely and treated Luigi (my dog) like a king. The price was very reasonable considering I was bringing a dog and the room was lovely, with treats, a bed and bowl for Luigi. Our dinner was delicious and the hotel is perfectly located for walks through the Malvern Hills.
Loved it here. A real country hotel with a charming feel. Food was lovely.
Wanderful Christmas lunch on Christmas Day. The restaurant was decorated beautifully, the food was amazing and the staff were brilliant. Thankyou all for your hard work. My nephew Kevin Turner booked our treat.
Fantastic dog friendly hotel, staff friendly and really helpful. Such a lovely place to visit, will definitely visit again. Service, food, staff, all fantastic, highly recommend.
Lovely warm and friendly place, a perfect spot to recover from glorious hill stomp.
Had a very good meal use the park hotel regularly
Back in 2019 I had been told about one of their competitions (To WIN a wedding package) which I won. I was completely shocked! Due to Covid we had to postpone the wedding 2 times prior to this. But I have to say Karen was lovely and calming when we had to change the date. On 30th October 2021 we finally got married and what can I say it was amazing! The staff were absolutely amazing, whatever we needed they did! Even everyone on the wedding day said about the food it was lovely 3 course meal! We can t thank you all enough for a beautiful day. If anyone is looking to get married I d definitely recommend.
Great place to eat! Excellent chef
Just popped in for Morning coffee, friendly staff.
Very good service staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was excellent.
Very good
First time at a dog friendly hotel and theyve set the bar really high. Lovely location, perfect for walking. Good food. Comfy bed. Very pretty design throughout. Super friendly staff.
Great food and drink, friendly and welcoming service, highly recommend.
Super friendly staff, comfortable room. Dog friendly, if not positively effusive over them. We look forward to staying again.
Anyone would say going away with a 2 month old and a crazy puppy would be a mad idea but we have had the best few days away. All the staff have been really welcoming and no request (however odd) has been too much for them. They have been really helpful with suggestions of where to go and what to do throughout our stay. Weve never been anywhere quite as dog friendly as here, he has been well and truly spoilt with sausages for breakfast. We cant wait to come back.
Was not staying at hotel, went for a Friday evening meal after a lovely day in and around the Malvern Hills. The out aspect of property was attractive and the bar nice and lively. The meal was a let down, the time from ordering to meal placed in front of us was nearly a hour, no follow up during that time for drinks and eventually had to remind them still waiting for food. The quality of food was ok, but maybe due to having to rush it because they forgot. Hopefully might be better for someone else when not busy. Hope this helps
Always excellent food and really lovely staff. Harvey is a star.
All in all we enjoyed our visit to Colwall Park hotel. All the staff were welcoming and very attentive to our needs. The whole place was clean and tidy and the room had everything we needed, including top ups to our tea and coffee, whenever requested, clean towels and toiletries. The hotel itself was very well placed with access to lots of different walking routes, amd chocolate box towns, which was our main reason for visiting the beautiful Malvern Hills region. The rooms were as described and the grounds offered a convenient place to go to relax in between walks. The food was good, albeit to a slightly limited menu, and the range of drinks was there at peices expected of a venue like this. I would point out a couple of things as real constructive feedback. The rooms were very warm during the night and we opened the window to allow a little fresh air. Our room was road side and there was a little early morning traffic that did wake us. Perhaps a little more opportunity to control the temperature within the room would be useful. The shower was also disappointing as the pressure simply wasnt there. After a lovely long day walking, I do like a shower but had to revert to the bath because of this. It would be worth investigating this in case improvements can be made Would we visit here again, of course, and I would not hestitate to recomend this hotel. We had a pleasant experience and feel the hotel everything it promised I hope you find our review useful
Lovely staff, great food & flavours. Also a fab wine list. Would definitely recommend!
Wonderful hotel, helpful & friendly staff & the food is amazing.
A lovely find. Beautiful building. Great Sunday carvery. Friendly and polite staff.
I shared an afternoon tea with my friend here today including a glass of prosecco. We arrived 20 minutes late as there were local road closures which the satnav couldnt understand !! Unfortunately we had to negotiate some difficult hair pin turns up the hills where there were numerous vehicles parked to avoid a car parking charge of £2. Such a beautiful part of the country visited by inconsiderate motorists. Our afternoon tea was lovely, warm home made scones and small pieces of a variety of cakes. Id have preferred the ham bun to have been without the horse raddish though. The smoked salmon and cream cheese was lovely. Unlimited tea available too. To be truthful I didnt take much notice of the building as we were so.late arriving but inside was delightful, tables set with white cotton table cloths and napkins and attractive crockery. Recommended
Lovely venue, very attentive staff, lovely afternoon tea
Had a lovely afternoon tea, relaxed atmosphere and excellent service from all staff.
Super friendly service. Great rooms. Perfect location close to train station and beautiful nature. Very good food and drinks in both the pub and restaurant.
What a beautiful location and the most amazing staff, I have stayed in a few places around the world and also in the UK, mostly chain brands but this level of attention was the best I have ever experienced, will definitely return, thankyou so much team Colwall.
Our daughter had her small wedding reception at the Colwall and I can t recommend them enough, nothing was too much trouble, great to be dog friendly as well. Thank you so much, we will return !
Had a fantastic stay here
Well run hotel, staff friendly and helpful. I booked a single room which was quite small but clean and comfortable enough. The evening meal in the restaurant was good. Beer was great!
Great place to stay if you have a dog with you. Hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable, but shower pressure was one of the lowest Ive ever experienced, to the point where I would suggest bringing a spare shower head. Breakfast was a little sparse. Full English didnt come with much meat at all and looked a bit sorry-looking. I would definitely come back if these issues were looked into, as the rest of the experience was very good!
Fabulous afternoon tea Great service Highly recommend Service : 5/5
Lovely clean bar area. Beautiful garden out the back, very quiet and lots of area of seating. Friendly and welcoming staff. Dogs allowed. Great place for a pint in the sun
Very poor food
Excellent food and service3
Great location for food and drinks, on a fine summer day walk. Great walks nearby, go down to the train station and over the bridge and follow the green arrows to the hills.
Popped in for a full English breakfast, very nice
Room was OK, quite average, and seemed to have been renovated on a budget. Bathroom was very old fashioned, with cracked tiles on the floor. Breakfast was nice except the coffee. Really disgusting which was a shame. Staff friendly and helpful though, and nice location for walking. Rooms : 3/5
Great base for The Malvern Hills area. Very nice hotel and restaurant. Friendly staff.
Had a really good few nights here we booked in for two nights with me my partner and our dog we ve never felt so welcome in any hotel we have stayed in , the staff have been spot on all the way through nothing less than amazing , room we had was very spacious and felt like home , very close to local train station and the breakfast/food is amazing will definitely be returning thankyou for a nice stay.
Garden still lovely with special gin & tonic bar outside even Blackbeard the pirate been from London
Lovely place to stay.staff brilliant.
If youre there for the walking its great, in the heat of the last few days it can be a bit dull. The rooms are definitely 3 star, the room we had at the top of the hotel (atic conversion) was full of long sloping angles and caught our head a few times. The food is first class and the team work hard to give you a great time. Out and about in Ledbury was good, a small market town with lots of places to eat, parking was easy. Malvern on the other hand, less inviting limited on a Sunday afternoon.
Beautiful area, the staff were brilliant, we had the large superior room which was well equipped slight critism was the bath panel had two ugly cracks and needs replacing, the food was amazing and I would definitely go back again
We ate on a Sunday at half six - a really difficult time to find anywhere serving food in the Malvern Hills. We ate outside in a quiet garden, lovely food well presented by friendly staff.
The Colwall Park was a lovely classic English country House hotel, tastefully updated. It stands on the main road, despite the web pictures looking like its in its own grounds, but has free parking at the back. Our reception was friendly, efficient and welcoming and we were offered help with our bags. Our room (3) was lovely, spacious, clean and comfortable. Our only real issue was that, despite the website displaying the blue disabled symbol, the hotel has no ground floor rooms, nor a lift and no apparent disabled access/equipped rooms. In this day and age...not acceptable. Luckily my husband can still just manage a flight of stairs and the hotel kindly served all our meals in our room to save him repeating the climb more than necessary. The food was excellent, especially the breakfasts. If I had to pick out minor issues with the room Id include only one chair in a double room, no information about the hotel facilities etc, no hooks in the bathroom and no shelf near/over the washbasin (my glasses fell in the sink twice) and no bath mat (although one might have been available had we asked). But seriously, none of these spoiled our stay but fixing any of them would be easy and instantly effective. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to, fit and able, family members. Thanks for a lovely time.
Lovely place for lunch.
Colwall Park Hotel are a wonderful credit to the hospitality industry. We chose them as our wedding venue in September 2022 based on being dog friendly. And they genuinely are. Nothing was any trouble. Beautiful location with the Malvern Hills only a hop skip and jump away. Special mention goes to Karen for managing the wedding ceremony preparations. Kind, professional and such a great help. Even special mention goes to another member of staff, Liv Fletcher. Not only the receptionist, but helps all around the hotel and volunteered to take photographs of the wedding which she did with such warmth, care and understated professionalism, you didnt know she was taking photos. Such a massive help throughout the day included serving food and drinks, she was an unexpected, outstanding contribution to our special day. Thank you Liv and Colwall Park for exceptional customer service, genuine care, natural warmth and kindness and especially being true to dog friendliness. Richard, Sarah and Phyllis.
The hotel and its staff were great. The rooms were also excellent, especially given the age of the building. The only complaint was on the menu descriptions. If it states filter coffee on the breakfast menu you shouldnt be given instant. The dessert menu was relatively expensive for what you got and the food wasnt what was expected from its description. Overall though a very pleasant stay.
Nice hotel rooms clean. Good service .plus dog freindly food was good
My human parents took the three of us to this lovely hotel. The room was spacious and we were given lots of treats plus bed and bowl each. We enjoyed sitting in the garden eating Doggy Ice Cream. Staff were so helpful and changed our room so my humans had less stairs to carry us up. The aroma in the restaurant was wonderful and the humans said it was delicious. The pieces they gave us were yummy. We hope they take us back
A lovely hotel. Staff in the bar & restaurant were friendly & helpful. Food was fantastic, cant praise the chef/chefs enough for our evening meal & breakfast. Well presented & tasted amazing, thank you. Atmosphere in the pub & where we ate was fab. Would certainly recommend & hopefully will be back on our next trip to Cornwall or to visit family.
Had a lucky draw in the Malvern hills challenge and wow an afternoon tea for two and a very nice experience it was too.
Highly recommended. We had a wonderful stay with our dogs. Staff were friendly, food was excellent, it is in a great atmosphere, good location for walking or catching the train, and we slept well too! We are likely to return.
Liked our Sunday lunch there..but could have done with some more Roast potatoes as we only got two..
I cant rate this place highly enough..staff are wonderful, cant do enough for you and your dogs..the food 10/10 absolutely delicious..well done chef sooo dog friendly Food and drinks: Amazing food mmmmm
We held a 70th Birthday Party at the Park Hotel Colwall. for 100+ guests. The help and attention we received was first class from start to finish . Very welcoming and totally supportive . Would definitely use this venue again. The hotel Manager was on top of the arrangemnts and certainly gave a professional service. Well done and Tyou to all the staff.
Lovely stay Fantastic breakfast such a wide choice and beautiful presentation. Room facilities were limited. No coffee machine as many places do now. The towel rail is on a timer which was a bit inconvenient. But otherwise everything was really good. Rooms : 4/5
Great dog friendly hotel, separate dining room for clients with dogs which was very comfortable. Dog beds and bowls provided with home-baked dog treats (sadly, our dog couldnt partake as he has to have a special diet). Ideal for walking the Malvern Hills. Good garden for dogs on leads to explore.
The hotel is completely dog friendly even for two large greyhounds who cant climb stairs... most of all the staff are lovely, definitely will be coming back. Thank you!
We stayed for 3 nights with our 2 dogs and was made very welcome. The room was large and very clean. Beds were comfortable. Food was excellent especially the choice at breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming especially with us having dogs. Walks from the hotel were lovely. Will definitely visit again. Thanks to everyone who made our stay very good.
Food and drinks: Lovely afternoon tea and prosecco. Noteworthy details: Very dog friendly and friendly staff. Service : 5/5 |
I stayed here as part of a work team meeting and Christmas party. The food was superb, the room was comfortable, spotless and warm. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. It was a treat seeing guests bring their dogs into the bar. Would recommend!
Friendly helpful staff. Food delicious. Cant fault it. We will be back Walkability: Lovely walks from your door. Malvern hills short car journey Great for dogs Rooms : 5/5 | Service
Dinner service was excellent but breakfast service was very slow.bed is uncomfortable and items were missing or broken in room.abit outdated
Hotel a little dated and bedrooms a little dark but you couldn t ask for a friendlier place to stay , nothing too much trouble , staff excellent
Rooms were lovely. Issue with booking when arrived but staff quickly sorted it. Showers were not very good at all. Breakfast left alot to be desired. Staff were really nice
Parts need updating and the food is ,for the most part, typical standard English hotel . On the other hand, its location and staff are very good and it has a nice ambience. Enjoyed my stay.
Fantastic staff - large and airy with a nice bar and great location.
Wonderful food, great service. 20 of us in the function room were catered for perfectly. Well done staff!
The food was good and staff friendly. Not suitable for my friend who is disabled. No disable toilet.
Excellent service
Very much enjoyed our afternoon tea in a warm relaxed ambiance. The service was very good with friendly staff.
Wonderful staff
I was one of 14 walkers that had lunch at the hotel . very welcoming . The staff were great.
Really good night
Took our son for breakfast with Santa and he loved it! Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and a tasty breakfast roll. We look forward to returning.
