50 Bellevue Terrace, Malvern WR14 4PZ, United Kingdom
Georgian country house hotel offering traditional rooms, casual dining and free breakfast.
A lovely weekend with family for a 60th birthday and 35th wedding anniversary party. |The room (5) was beautiful. Great view of the Abbey, lots of space, comfy bed.|The resteraunt is fabulous and breakfast freshly cooked to order.|The staff were friendly and helpful changing a light bulb that had blown and rescuing me with a pin before the party.|Well positioned for easy walk to town or the hills.
Recent last minute night away here. The hotel is actually ok, other than the pillow were like blocks of concrete but each to their own preference. ||We had an incident at the hotel whereby I inadvertently broke a pane of glass, a fact I never hid from or denied. The incident occurred as the hotel failed to put any signs on the window in question to say it was out of order and was actually sealed shut. Therefore when I put additional force onto the window frame, a small window pane broke. ||My partner and I left early the next morning prior to breakfast as she was starting to have a Asthma attack and needed to get home as she forgot her inhaler. That afternoon I received a message from the hotel which I replied to instantly. That message was demanding a payment of £150. What it didn't ask was how the incident happened or indeed if anyone was injured in the incident. ||Following a second demanding message, I sent a direct email to the hotel to acknowledge the incident and advising that I did reply to their original message but the message bounced back. Whilst I acknowledged the incident and put my hand up to the incident, I also asked why they never bothered to ask how the incident occurred and furthermore if anyone had been injured. Their reply was of the impression that they didn't care about customer wellbeing and just carried on demanding £150. I questioned about them having some liability as the window was sealed shut as confirmed in an email from Mr Bains yet there were no signs in the room or on the window to advise of this. With Mr Bains clearly not interested in anything other than his £150, he failed to comment regarding this. At all times I never denied the incident and it would of been easy for me to walk away pleading ignorance to the incident as they clearly didn't know what had happened, but I didn't and Mr Bains really couldn't be bothered with facts. ||I asked for a copy of the repair invoice to allow me to consider payment, this was received and in actual fact was for £118 not £150. I questioned again why the hotel didn't tell its guests the windows were sealed and stated the obvious of they had of done, the incident wouldn't of happened. This fell on deaf ears and Mr Bains then became more threatening when I offered to pay 50% of the cost. I must add that had Mr Bains shown empathy or discussed the matter in a grown up manner I would of happily paid the £150 as it was my doing. ||Mr Bains eventually agreed that I could pay the actual cost of £118 but at this same time he deployed bullying tactics by giving me timelines to pay the invoice and when questioned further used further bullying tactics by threatening solicitors and increasing the costs he was looking to claim for. Mr Bains has absolutely no idea of customer service and believes that even though I had previously agreed to pay/contribute he felt it necessary to try and intimidate me further with these threats. ||Whilst I have settled the repair costs in full, I just felt that you need to be aware that the manager/owner of this hotel doesn't give a damn about customers, their safety or wellbeing. I just hope there is never a serious incident there as he wont care and will simply be after your money.
Excellent location, but otherwise very disappointing. The hotel's beautiful period exterior conceals an unexpectedly depressing, out-dated and cheaply 'modernised' interior. The room's furnishings were basic and tired. The bed was reasonable, but the duvet and pillows were awful. Any investment in this hotel appears to be focused on its restaurants , which are clearly promoted as separate entities for non-residents. I did not dine, so no comment on food. Service at breakfast was almost non-existent. The tables were bare and unlaid. I had to ask for everything. The hot breakfast food was OK but the self-service selection was minimal and basic. This hotel was far from what I expected, and I regretted having pre-booked and paid for a second night. What a shame for such an inviting exterior, and great location in a nice town.
We were in Malvern to go to the theatre and needed somewhere to stay for the night so we booked a superior room at the Mount Pleasant Hotel. Parking was easy at 16:00 in the afternoon but later on at 18:00 the car park was full so I would make sure you arrive early. |The hotel itself is an old Georgian building on multiple levels which was charming. |Check in was quick but welcoming and we were allocated room 1 which turned out to be a very large bedroom with fantastic views - in the morning we watched the mist rise over the valley beyond the abbey, lovely. |The large bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very clean (the carpet looked new). |The walk in shower was a reasonable size with plentiful hot water, however some of the repair work and sealant was pretty shoddy but for one night it didn't matter.|Breakfast in the morning was great - really good quality bacon and eggs cooked to order and served by a lovely waiter. |We'll probably stay again on our next theatre trip and will definitely ask for room 1 again.
The hotel was excellent. We booked a delux room with a view and what a view we had of the abbey and hills. Room was spacious. Restaurants were pleasant and food great. Breakfast was hearty and service pleasant. Only issue was noise constantly from the traffic and 1 night of entertainment in the suite below.
The hotel itself is well positioned however the room we had was not what we expected. Room 16, was what seemed like staff quarters. There was a small kitchenette with only a sink and kettle, then steps up to the bed which was a small double. Views were of brick walls and the shower was mouldy. The room was eclectic with nice wallpaper but cheap furniture. This was the mid range room, should have probably paid for the more expensive room. The bar opening hours are advertised until 12pm. We were asked for last orders at 11.10pm and then asked to leave at 11.30pm, disappointing. Breakfast was nice.
An excellent stay at this lovely hotel within walking distance of all amenities. The checking in process including car registration for car parking was very efficient. Our room was well furnished, with a comfortable bed and a bath !!|We had lunch in the restaurant which was lovely, served by a very helpful young lady. After a very comfortable nights sleep, we enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast. Highly recommended, excellent value for money
Stayed at this hotel before and found it comfortable and friendly. However this time there was a massive problem with parking as a baby shower had been booked. The room allocated was small with a double bed. Unfortunately my husband being over 6ft failed to have a restful sleep as bed too small. The room was hot and condensation a problem. The evening meal was tasty but come 9pm felt compelled to leave the restaurant/ bar as the staff set up for breakfast on all of the tables even though the bar is open to midnight. Breakfast was tasty but had to wait to order food. Shame this hotel is in a brilliant position and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Had a brill time lovely hotel in a beautiful location
Food and drinks: Drinks reasonably priced Food was very good Service : 4/5
After an ordeal with hotels.com (not Mount Pleasant Hotels fault) we finally got to our room. It was lovely. Squeaky floors yes but tbh this just added to age and style of the property. Reception lady was no end of help too and we enjoyed our stay. Attached to the property is an Asian fusion style restaurant which was ok in my opinion but I think there is likely some other better options out there.
from arrival to departure all staff we came in contact with were very polite . the receptionist helped take our luggage to our room. the waiting staff were helpful. checked any allergies.the chiefs were fantastic. the food was of the highest standard. the cleaners did a marvalous job. the room was very big, spacious with lovely views. the car parking was only for hotel visitors. the whole experience was so pleasant. would recommend this hotel to anyone. it is right in the centre of great malvern
Very friendly staff
A very comfortable stay with a very nice dinner in the restaurant. The parking and situation for Malvern shops and theatre are very convenient. Walkability: Everything in Malvern is just a few minutes by foot. Malvern is on a steep hill so some people with mobility issues may struggle but for everyone else it is ideally placed. Food and drinks: The Mulberry Tree restaurant is excellent.
The hotel has an excellent location but seriously disappoints. Beautiful period building with a depressing and cheaply furnished interior. Room was well-heated, but gloomy and very basic. Duvet and pillows very poor. Nasty cheap carpets throughout the room and whole hotel. Reception not manned after 8pm. Atmosphere was soulless, dismal and depressing. Everything appears done on the cheap, (except, maybe, its restaurant, which appears to be promoted for non-residents). I did not dine, so cannot comment on the restaurant food. Service at breakfast was almost non existent. Tables not laid. Very limited cold selection. Hot breakfast food was OK. Sadly, I regretted having booked and paid for a second night at this hotel. What a shame for such a nice town and iconic location.
My room was a bit tired (and smelly ) with a damaged carpet but it was clean and comfortable. The location is gorgeous, the staff were lovely and the dinner and breakfast were good.
A wonderful place to stay, especially if you want to explore the hills. Clean and comfortable with an excellent breakfast to start the day well. Rooms
MOST UNPLEASANT HOTEL!! We were in Room 9, at the back as we asked for quiet, but no views, because of frosted glass. Room was depressing & like a 1980s bedsit; dirty carpet, massive stain across ceiling, chair with broken leg, thin & worn towels. Worst was the price; due to Malvern Show, DYNAMIC PRICING = £225! A joke, as it is not even a 2* Much better hotels nearby. Avoid!
Good sized room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast and very pleasant staff.
Reasonable price, good food and friendly staff but the room a little tired and in need of attention. Te bathroom and shower were excellent and the bed comfortable, however the carpets old and the dim lighting set to hide the fact.
Really helpful and friendly staff. Rooms comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast very tasty. And it is a gorgeous location.
The staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful. Pleasant room, restaurant perfect
Really beautiful from the outside and fantastic location in central Malvern but rooms are more on the dormitory side than luxury hotel. Not to the quality I would expect for the price. Service was mixed - breakfast service was excellent, bar service was very poor.
The central location of this hotel was perfect for us. All the staff were delightful, very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and had a very nice shower room but it looked out over the kitchen, no view at all. The paintwork was very tires and in need of an update. The breakfasts were goo and we enjoyed eating in The Lantern. Rooms: See full review Nearby activities: Great walking in the Malver Hills Safety: Cant comment on this one Walkability: Easy walking distance of the shops etc. Food and drinks: Expensive lager, good food in The Lantern. Noteworthy details: Small car park
We had a very nice holiday. Rooms: Big and spacious Rooms : 5/5 |
Aaamaaaazing Get room nr 2 and the view is to dye for Staff isnsooo friendly clean position of the hotel.is waw Sooo happy 3 days in Malvern Rooms : 5/5 |
This hotel just always delivers. Great food, great rooms and a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Everyone is chatty, which we love about this place more than ever! Ben took very good care of us, as we returned to have a meal, to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. We celebrated our wedding here with friends and family in 2019 and we cannot recommend them highly enough, if youre looking to do the same. Absolutely fabulous - or we wouldnt return each year to celebrate!
Beautiful historic place and well cared for
We stay here whenever we are in Malvern. Premium rooms with the view over the lovely Priory are delightful and well worth the extra if you are spoiling yourself. Staff are so friendly and helpful. A well stocked bar, delicious food breakfast and dinner. Easy parking. Can thoroughly recommend
Highly recommend, great location, check in was quick,,polite friendly staff, room was good quality, nice and quiet. Breakfast was good quality and I would definitely stay here again Rooms
Great location. Lovely terraces for an afternoon drink. First come first served car park worked well for us. Very handy. Food served all day. My wife had the indian style fish and chips which was ok and I had the Penang beef for lunch. Penang beef was very tasty but the beef a bit chewy. Rice was extra so a bit pricier than expected. Room and bed was clean and airy. Breakfast was well done and plenty of it. Some of the decor and carpets were a bit tired but would not put us off. Would use again for the money.
The room we were given originally wasnt great..dark and musty. We notified reception and they investigated and allocated us a new, much brighter and spotless room with an amazing view straight away. Staff are fantastic and so was the breakfast. Will definitely be back.
This hotel was great. Friendly staff. Large rooms. Comfy bed and decent shower. It was hot in the room though. No aircon and the window only opened like a letterbox. The view from my room was amazing.
Only had dinner here after visiting the Malvern Three Counties Show. It was a lovely restaurant with great hospitality on the edge of a quaint village nestled high in the Malvern Hills. Food was good with an ample vegetarian selection and a good selection of drinks and snacks. Theres a car park where you have to register your number plate when you enter. Great views over Malvern and the countryside. There is a hiking trail next to the hotel carpark. I didnt get a chance to walk the trail Walkability: Lots of trails that go up and down the Malvern Hills Food and drinks: Good selection of drinks and food including vegetarian food
what a stunningly beautiful venue, where attention to detail is excellent. Enormous thanks of gratitude to James for looking after us for our event. Kindest regards, Admin xx
A lovely place to stay during our long walk to John o Groats Staff were very friendly and food was great Would definitely stay again if we were in the area Rooms : 5/5
The hotel is based in great location with spectacular views. Although the rooms could do with some tlc, a breakfast makes up for the price. Food is delicious and great service.
Great hotel on a beautifull location. Service is good and friendly. Rooms are nice and clean. Good restaurant. Would recommend this hotel!
An example how a hotel and restaurant should be run. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent food (both dinner and breakfast), great location. Just a shame that we hadnt planned for a longer stay.
Loved my stay here. Family suite with bathroom. Really good location, not far from the train station, close to Malvern Hills, theatre and restaurants, cafes, shops etc. One big downfall was not being allowed any takeaways or anything from outside and a £50 fee, if caught. This wasnt made clear to me before booking. They do have two on-site restaurants with plenty of options though and breakfast included. Great views from outside the restaurant window and outside the hotel. Highly recommended if youre staying in Malvern.
This is a lovely hotel in Great Malvern, with comfortable rooms, great views and a terrific restaurant. We really enjoyed our stay and slept very well. Food and drinks: We ate in the Mulberry Tree restaurant at the hotel and the food was fantastic. There were lots of gluten and lactose-free alternatives.
We thought the hotel location was excellent as was the quality of the rooms and general decor, however there is always a but and this is quite a big but. The breakfast continental buffet was quite adequate but the cooked breakfast was a let down in that the bacon on each of the three days was overcooked and had probably been left under an infra red lamp and had dried hard. The mushrooms had been cooked to death and were literally black on the plate. The sausages had also been left under the infra red lamp and the skin was very rubbery. I did raise this with the lady on reception when we left on Sunday and maybe we should have raised it earlier. The only other minor issue was the absence of a refuse bin around the buffet table for empty cereal packets. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Rooms: See above.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. In particular in getting us a parking space; however we would note that it is quite a small car park which needs to accommodate both restaurant and hotel guests. The window in our room looked right onto the restaurant terrace, which was ok because we were not in the room during busy mealtimes but can imagine it would be quite noisy and there would be less privacy in the room if one were on a longer trip. The room itself was clean and we had no issues with it. The hotel breakfast was good, we had the cooked breakfast which was good quality and served quickly, service was very friendly. Nearby activities: Good location in Great Malvern for exploring the town.
My friend and I regularly lunch hear we noticed yesterday they changed the menu as we normally choose goats cheese with beetroot placed on a ciabatta it was changed to cheese and beetroot so we ordered that but when we received it it was a very small amount of grated cheese and just beetroot juice not one slice of beetroot im disappointed that I didnt complain at the time hence the review a
There seemed to be a leak in the ceiling of room 5 I think from the room in bathroom above which also caused a strange smell in the room i think.
The rooms are small with very small bathroom. Nice and clean, good facilities (tea, coffee etc) but a bit smelly in the bathroom and the fan did not work. Walkability: Routes to the Malvern hills can be accessed directly from the hotel making an excellent place to stay when on a walking weekend/break.
Good to be back again
Great location, near wonderful church and historic sights. Great for walking in the hills. Good breakfast and evening meal. Noteworthy details: Great location, near wonderful church and historic sights. Great for walking in the hills. Good breakfast and evening meal.
A comfortable hotel in a lovely town with superb views.
Nice room overlooking the priory and lovely breakfast. Great location with walks straight up the hills from the hotel. Only slight downside was road noise but obviously this is unavoidable and not a big issue.
Always enjoy my stays at the Mount Pleasant
Very poor value for money ( we stayed when the RHS Malvern Show was on) the price of a room had doubled to a scandalous £300 per room per night. The hotel is shabby underneath a veneer of modernisation and clearly basic maintenance has been overlooked. In our room ( which did have wonderful views over Malvern)the wooden furniture was sun damaged and peeling , the carpet was dirty but the bed was comfortable . The bathroom was badly fitted out, appalling grouting, cheap units. Thin cheap towels, plastic waste bin. The stair carpet up to the rooms was dirty and torn in places. Breakfast service was slow and the choice of breakfast buffet very poor for the price we had paid. On the plus side we did have an excellent dinner in the restaurant and the staff were pleasant. This hotel needs to reflect its price structure in line with what it is actually offering or needs more investment and new management. Rooms: Lovely views. Good bed but all other furniture shabby. Small and poorly appointed bathroom - even the floor grouting was substandard and dirty. Food and drinks: Breakfast was unremarkable and well below standard of the price we had paid. Dinner at the restaurant however was good.
Reasonable value, delux room was spacious with a good view over the priory. Breakfast was excellent with good choices available.
This hotel is a real gem. Very helpful staff, nice rooms, great location
Couldn t be happier very friendly and helpful ordering a taxi too meet friends a free upgrade and lovely breakfast. Will stay again Rooms: Plenty of room for a couple Nearby activities: Very close to town and hill walks Walkability: Very close to shops pubs and restaurants
Lovely hotel situated at the foot of the malvern hills with views to the front over the Priory, town and countryside beyond. Hotel was clean, comfortable and the service and room were great. We ate at the Mulberry restaurant onsite and the food and service was excellent. Breakfast the next morning was also excellent. Book with confidence. Nearby activities: you are based at the foot of the malvern hills, its a walkers paradise so long as you like steep uphill walks. The views from the top were magnificent. Food and drinks: both the food at the Mulberry restaurant and breakfast were excellent.
Great staff and well placed stopover. Rooms: Family room large and smashing 6ft bed very comfortable. We are starting to struggle with showers in baths (elderly)...mat would assist Rooms : 4/5 |
One side of the bed was completely collapsed. No where to sit inside the rooms. Included breakfast is good. Rooms
Lovely hotel in a great location with friendly staff.
Very clean and comfortable room. Surprisingly and pleasingly quiet despite there being a Wedding Party on the night we arrived. Great location and lovely breakfast
Walkability: Very close to town centre. Food and drinks: Excellent breakfast Rooms : 5/5 |
Rooms: Very very clean indeed Rooms
Ideally situated for visiting the town centre, theatre or walking the Malvern Hills. Pleasant decor, clean and neat. The multi-national staff are friendly and efficient. Excellent restaurant with wide ranging menu offering some refined dining as well as popular food. Good choices of food for breakfast. Standard double room was slightly on the small side but very comfortable. Rooms: Bedroom was comfortable and nicely furnished but a tad cramped around the bed. Restaurant offered seating at windows, main hall and also had intimate areas for romantics. Decorated with local photographs and huge gilt mirrors in hallway and stairs.
Room was cold and only a tiny window. Very claustrophobic. However the room was very clean Food and drinks: Sunday dinner was good with a very large portion. Unfortunately dessert was tepid and the crumble cold
Lovely hotel in the centre of Malvern, with a car park!!! We stayed for one night, and really enjoyed our room with its view across Malvern and its surrounds. Staff were really helpful, so big thumbs up from us. Rooms: Room was good size, with good shower!! View from the room was lovely. Walkability: Hotel is located on the main road through Malvern, so has great access to the town and local walks.
Our room this stay was very spacious, bathroom was massive, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately we didnt sleep well, can only put it down to the bed, which was a shame as its put us off returning. The location is excellent, good amount of parking spaces.
A great hotel in a lovely location. I will definitely come back next time I need a hotel in the area. Food and drinks: Fantastic breakfast that set me up well for the day.
Had an amazing stay at Mount Pleasant, visited for new years. The hotel room (10) was a great size, beautifully furnished and decorated with a stunning bathroom with large bath and huge shower. The receptionist, bar staff and waiters were all exceptional. I travel a lot and it is rare that I find a hotel as great as this that I will share with friends and recommend. Breakfast includes continental and a hot breakfast, worth the money!
Very nice place staff was warm and welcoming bed was really comfy breakfast was outa this world would recommend to anyone plus may I add great price aswell Food and drinks: Great food and lovely ales
Lunch time get together with the girls after Christmas. Fantastic service and top notch food .Thank you.
A very nice, warm and cosy hotel with excellent food! Haddock and chips, or should I say, whale and a bucket of chips, were very tasty and filling. Id return just for that. As for the hotel, it was pleasant and welcoming, I was even shown to my room, which was nice. The hotel is ideally located at the foot of the hills and has breathtaking views. There are a limited number of car parking spaces, but very accessible on foot. There are plenty of shops nearby, including a convenience store next door, which is handy. Throughout the hotel there were pictures of Malverns history and links with industry and aviation, which was a nice touch and interesting. The room I was in was a little on the tight side, particularly the bathroom suite. However, the bed was very comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. All in all, I was here for work purposes, but would definitely return for pleasure, a place to unwind and enjoy the stunning hillside views. It was very pleasant indeed. Big thumbs up.
Stayed For 1 Night Great Hotel Lovely Clean Room Staff Helpful Ample Parking And I Was In Big Van great breakfast with good choice and great service value definitely recommend
Pleasant place, staff nice. Didnt have food, so cant comment on that
Excellent experience holding our business event here. Beautiful surroundings. Nothing was too much trouble. Dinner in the restaurant was good. Chairs in the meeting room could do with being a little more comfortable but would definitely recommend.
We had informed the hotel of my wife s allergy to all dairy products. The response from the her and waiting staff was very understanding and professional in responding very well to the situation.
We went for dinner in the restaurant only Food and drinks: Duck confit was a bit dry and hard to get off the bone. Bit over priced. Service : 5/5 |
Fantastic hotel, centrally located with fantastic view. Spacious rooms, enormous bathroom and food was absolutely amazing!
Nice well-kept hotel. Good location. The breakfast couldnt be more varied.
We had a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. We had the Valentines Special dinner which was lovely. The staff were all very polite and helpful. Excellent value for money. I highly recommend Mount Pleasant
This was a last minute booking after an emergency visit to Malvern. We were allocated a huge suite at the back of the hotel. No traffic noise and a wonderful view up to the hills when we woke up. Extremely comfortable. No unnecessary frills. Everything we needed. The restaurant manager at breakfast was extremely hospitable and the breakfast was excellent.
Nice room with everything youneed for your stay. The size is okay for a couple but at the smaller end of the size scale. Really clean and bright with a view to the car park and the park rpute to the Malvern hills. The shower/toilet was small but well designed with a nice shower cubicle. Breakfast was very nice with a number of options.
Went to the restaurant The Mulberry Bush. First rate Sunday lunch, impeccable service in very nice surroundings. Would recommend without hesitation.
We booked the cheapest room as it was just a flying visit. The bed was great Only one side lamp No full length mirror Two sockets didn t work and we were not told . Otherwise all good
Firstly the room, large and spacious (no 4 deluxe)offers marvellous views however you need to offset that with the horrendous traffic noise from the exceptionally busy main road. The hotel seems to be going through a major revamp especially in the bathrooms. Our room presumably will be on the list as the bathroom looked somewhat tired with a very ancient clogged up shower head. Opted to eat out every night as the restaurant menu offered very little in the way of exciting choices. Why are we inundated with burgers nowadays? For real ale connoisseurs the only choice in the bar was a flowery summer ale (it was winter!) that precluded staying there for a drink. Breakfasts were excellent served by polite and courteous staff. If you compromise the view and opt for a rear room you will sleep better.
I only stayed one night . Room was spacious and bed comfortable ... Breakfast was very nice and welcome . My only observation is that parking can be limited ...
Thank you! It was a very nice staying. Comfortable room with heating on, good bathroom utilities with shower gel/shampoo and soap available. Clean bedding and towels. Breakfast is included in the price of the room
Noteworthy details: We met another couple for dinner and were delighted to be greeted by a super guy who we knew back in his Ask days. He is excellent, attentive and kind, a real asset to the hotel restaurant. The food was average, very small fish and chips, I had seabass which wasnt seasoned and the skin quite flabby. The bean cassoulet wasnt seasoned and was tasteless and bland. The desserts were delicious. It wasnt very warm in the restaurant either.
Just had Sunday Dinner. Absolutely perfect
We very much enjoyed our overnight stay. We were surprised when the booking T&Cs implied £19:50 to park outside your booking times, but were pleased to find it only applied to the room being available early. Listed building so no lift.
Just a perfect hotel for visiting the theatres in Malvern. Nearby activities: Theatres, walks, shops Walkability: Located at the foot of the hills and also on the doorstep of the town.
Just a lovely hotel in a lovely location
Rooms: Room was nice but mattress needed replacing, very saggy Food and drinks: Full English was not good, sausage not really edible and bacon tough, felt like it had been sat under a lamp for a long time Noteworthy details: Other than issues with breakfast and mattress it was a great place
Fantastic stay at the Mount Pleasant 2nd to 5th April. View from bedroom across Malvern Abbey and the hills beyond were incredible. Lovely comfy large double bed. Breakfast outstanding and nice evening meal in pleasant restaurant. Loved our time in Malvern due to the position of the Mount Pleasant and its brilliant staff.
Disappointed there was no lift, we were on the top floor and stairs were a struggle. Rooms: Our room overlooked the car park which meant we had to keep the curtains closed which ade the room dark. Food and drinks: Breakfast was very good , bar prices were expensive, a lot more cheaper in the nearby bars.
Rooms: Spacious and comfortable. Rooms
Excellent stay - very nice room. Staff were all very helpful and professional. Food was great, both at breakfast and dinner. Would certainly recommend. Perhaps they only slight negative is that the car park can get overfull when all the rooms are occupied. Rooms: All one could wish for - nice large rooms, spotlessly clean, serviced between nights. Food and drinks: Very nice. Eating in style. Also, nice choice of beers, including a not-too-expensive guest ale.
Rooms: Small room and tiny bathroom, with very simple and cheap furniture and decorations. Found paper waste on the floor when checking in. Food and drinks: Good service, but breakfast was very basic and bland tasting.
Excellent stay in upgraded room, friendly efficient service. Lovely breakfast. My husband forgot his phone charger and this was looked after by the staff and collected a week later by us. So helpful!
Very good food, attentive staff, all good.
Really nice minute steak sandwich! Didnt use the hotel as walking distance from a lady friends apartment.... Food and drinks: Excellent quality at reasonable prices.
Very good location. Small, very noisy room. Far too expensive. View into the backyard. Very unfriedly staff. Room 19, not acceptable at all. Still well above 100£ per night.
Excellent service, excellent quality food. Really enjoyed the lovely relaxed atmosphere. We had afternoon tea but may return sometime for Sunday lunch
rooms were too small - room 17 was mouldy Rooms: rooms too small. room 17 smelt mouldy. excessive price when compared with, say, rooms 1 & 2 Rooms : 1/5 |
This is the second time we have stopped at Mount Pleasant. The location is great to walk in the Malvern Hills. The restaurant food is very good and cooked to order. I just wish that the car parking had more space as it is very small and sometimes you are unable to park on site meaning you have to park on the road.
This is a pleasant hotel, with a really central and convenient location. On the whole, the staff were friendly and efficient. The supervisor on breakfast service on our second morning was less so, and telling people to sit where you like and not explaining to people how the tea/coffee/continental breakfast worked was not helpful. We ate in the restaurant on the Friday evening and it was lovely. Could do with the staff paying a bit of attention to the outside area - dirty glasses left out overnight doesnt create a brilliant impression. On the whole, would recommend.
Great place to stay. Looking forward to coming back again Nearby activities: Concert Rooms : 5/5 |
Beautiful place and food was fantastic!
Rooms: Very clean and comfortable Food and drinks: Excellent breakfast and friendly professional service. Rooms : 4/5 |
The location is wonderful for access into the hills and the restaurant had lovely food
Very friendly and welcoming. Excellent food. We did have a bit of a problem with the room we were allocated (the hotel was full), but we were moved to a lovely room the next day. Location convenient for both the town and the hills.
A 1night stay to attend Elgar Festival concert in the Priory. A smallish double room overlooking side carpark. Did not dine at hotel and a small cooked breakfast taken. Second time stay at this hotel and very pleased for what I required. Rooms: A bright, clean and seemingly quite newly decorated double with modern well fitted ensuite & shower. Noteworthy details: Situated in the town, with parking, beside A449, and just a couple of minutes walk (hilly) from Malvern Priory and shops.
This Hotel has no ground floor accommodation and no porter to help with luggage up the many stairs. Not suitable for disabled people or people with walking difficulties. Rooms: Very nice rooms but no fridge for medicine or milk Walkability: Not for the disabled person. Too many uneven walking surfaces Food and drinks: Food was excellent
The room was far a way about expection, nice service, good place to be in Malvern Nearby activities: You can visit abbaye and museum
The staff where very friendly and more than eager to help regardless of the ask. The room was a bit dated, but clean. Location was perfect
The room was advertised as luxury and charged at that rate. We have alot of experience with travelling and room 3 definitely is not as advertised/described. Lovely staff though, but some people may complain about misrepresentation? Rooms: Not as advertised. Too expensive for what it was. Nearby activities: Lovely location. Great for walking and museums Food and drinks: The crispy houlumi dish was not pleasant but the breakfasts were great. Staff very efficient and friendy Noteworthy details: Shower in room 3 is very poor. Small and doesnt retain water temperature. Towels definitely not luxury
Excellent all round - thank you!
Most hotels nowadays special in the restaurant when youre waiting for your meal or sitting in the lounge have a fairly good magician to entertain you found a really good one at a met in a place in Doncaster his name was John Turner and he made my visit in his hotel very nice seemed a little bit dead atmosphere in your hotel
I have been coming to this Hotel for many years. I always love the experience and am never disappointed. The breakfast is superb and the restaurant is a real treat. It is located right next to the 99 steps that lead you to the Malvern Hills.
We had our business planning weekend here, and it was exemplary in its service and facilities. The meeting room was just what you need, accommodation rocked and the food was of amazing quality. Would highly recommend this venue Food and drinks: High quality food and a great selection on the drinks
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. All staff most friendly. My only challenge was the distance of my room from reception, but when realise I should have mentioned my age when I booked so I could have had a closer room.
Two elderly couples staying for four nights. Rooms very basic, one couple had bedroom over kitchen and could hear plates rattling until late evening. There was no lounge for residents to relax in, we had to sit at a table in the bar/restaurant in uncomfortable chairs. Walkability: Necessary to climb stairs to go between reception, bedrooms and restaurant.
Rooms: Lovely room bed very comfy Walkability: A little stroll and you are in town Rooms : 5/5 |
Lovely hotel in Central location
I booked a discounted room with a good understanding about the room. It was as advertised and good value for money. I was uncomfortably warm with limited opportunity to cool the room. Rooms: The main rooms look comfortable. The room I selected was discounted and fair value and ok for one night Nearby activities: Central to Great Malvern and its attractions Safety: Fine Walkability: Direct access onto the hills Food and drinks: Excellent breakfast Noteworthy details: Very friendly staff and excellent service
Our room was very very small and the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and the mattress clearly needed replacing. For £300 for two nights this felt like very poor value. Breakfast was tasty and there were good portion sizes.
Friendly helpful staff. Good location close to the centre of town. Rooms: Nicely decorated rooms, comfy bed, large bath / shower room. Rooms : 5/5 |
Rooms: Our daughter s room was lovely and our room was OK although it opened on to an outside corridor overlooking the kitchens(?). The window also overlooked this outside path so we felt we had to keep the curtains closed all the time. Quite noisy with a bit of door banging at night. Food and drinks: Breakfast was excellent
Be careful when entering your car reg as I got a 60.00 parking fine today.
We booked the Morgan room for a golden wedding anniversary dinner and it was pretty well perfect. Excellent service, good food, great view - well worth the expense of having our own space to relax. Thanks very much for making it a memorable occasion.
Friendly staff, nice location.
gOOD LOCATION TO GO FOR WALK Walkability: THE HOTEL IS RIGHT AT THE BOTTON OF 99 STEPS TO MALVERN HILLS Rooms : 5/5 |
Great views for a drink
I spent a lot of time deciding which hotel to stay in and we were very pleased to have chosen the Mount Pleasant. Our standard room was spacious, modern and stylish, the breakfast and dinner delicious and all the staff were excellent. The location was perfect- we could walk around the town , and also up on to the hills and on a rainy day we took the train to Worcester, where there was plenty to do and see.Thank you
Highly recommend this hotel. Location is excellent, right in the middle of Malvern and next to the hills. Room was fantastic, very large with massive bathroom, all newly refurbished with modern cons. Breakfast, fresh and tasty, served in the lovely and airy restaurant. And all at a very reasonable price. Thank you!
Rooms: The room, which I understand was an upgrade, was fairly large and the bed fairly comfy. However furniture is inexpensive, worn and jaded. Windows were both frosted so it felt claustrophobic. Curtains were not lined. Tea and coffee facilities were basic. Nothing about the room felt luxurious. We felt that the cost of the room did not reflect the accommodation. Staff were friendly and did show us another room but that wasnt an improvement. Breakfast was lovely, well cooked and good portion. Parking was limited so we had to park some way up the road.
Great outdoor bar
I like this hotel! My second visit confirmed my first impressions - really helpful staff; clean rooms and everything you need for a comfortable stay. The house ethos seems to be accommodate the customer and this seemingly permeates the whole culture. I particularly appreciate the house cleaning / domestic staff who are friendly and accommodating. Breakfasts are sizeable and good quality. No negative aspects at all - it s a good place!
Excellent location for the town, friendly staff, very good breakfast with plenty of choice, lovely and spacious room Nearby activities: Plenty of walks, all different levels
View from outside
Excellent location and service, great parking very good! Just s bit cold in the room. Food and drinks: Good breakfast with a good view
Disappointing Sunday lunch but wonderful staff.
Nice hotel, welcoming staff, really good food, cozy bar. A hotel in beautiful surroundings by The Hills
We stayed for a few nights in this comfortable and pleasant hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful (as were everyone we met in Malvern). The breakfasts were very good, with everything cooked fresh and the dining area was very attractive, with views looking across the town. Our standard room was a good size and had all the basics for a comfortable stay although it did have a couple of quirky items. The hotel is in a great position for exploring the Malvern Hills, along with the many other areas enjoyed by hikers. The hotel is a listed building, set into the side of the hill, resulting in the rooms being on various levels, up and down different steps and many sets of stairs. Overall a good place to stay to explore this beautiful part of the UK.
Beautiful views from the hotel. Food was all lovely. Visited as a wedding guest. Cocktails were also superb, recommend the espresso martini
Had a 2 night stay as we had an appointment in Birmingham and this was a better area to stay. Perfect location and stunning views. Breakfast was amazing and the staff very welcoming.
One night stay choosing this hotel as it s known to me but never stayed in before! Would I stay again, most definitely. The room was spotless, spacious and quiet. The bathroom was very modern clean and brightly lit. Breakfast was in with the price which was well worth the money. The restaurant was clean with a friendly atmosphere. The food was very well presented and a lot of it! The staff from reception to Callum our waiter were friendly and professional. Our friends joined us for breakfast and Ben the restaurant manager made them most welcome . Highly recommended and will definitely stay again. A very popular hotel in the heart of Malvern Rooms: Great room for just one night stay, maybe if I was staying longer I d do a more scenic room Food and drinks: Excellent food and service, all served by friendly staff
Great place to stay - room was clean, bed comfortable, customer service good and breakfast very good. Good location and free parking.
My wife and I stayed in the hotel recently so that we could enjoy a matinee performance at Malvern Theatre and then relax afterwards without having to drive home. The room was ok, but most impressive was our evening meal and the breakfast the following morning. Not only was the food really good, but the front of house staff were exemplary. So attentive, polite and professional, it really was such a pleasure to see. They are an asset to the hotel and set the standard in how all hospitality staff should be. Thank you for such a great stay, we will definitely return when we book our next show.
Spent a wonderful night celebrating my sister in laws special birthday. Myself, husband, two brothers and wives cant Thank all the staff enough for the fabulous food, beautiful surroundings and excellent service from the staff which made it all perfect. Cant wait for another special occasion to return to you. Many, many Thanks. Rooms: Rooms lovely, spacious and comfortable.
The receptionist took us to the room, very polite and friendly. Came down to the bar and restaurant, was greeted with a hello there can I help you. Had a fantastic meal at night, service was excellent and the food was fantastic. Great night sleep well recommend the hotel.
A great location in Malvern. It is in the middle of the town and right next to the Malvern Hills Rooms: Spacious, tastefully furnished and the most comfy bed. My only criticism is that the room was hot -not unpleasantly so but hotter than I am used to. Food and drinks: A great full English breakfast served by friendly staff.
This was our fourth stay at Mount Pleasant as we always visit Malvern for the Christmas festival weekend. We have had a fabulous weekend as we always do, its a wonderful hotel with a homely feel. All the staff are polite, professional and always ensure everything is perfect for guests. Its a wonderful hotel in a wonderful part of the country. We will be back next year.
Visited the Mulberry Tree for 2 lunches in a row.....the two people looking after the bar and restaurant were a young lad and young girl...both excellent and very warm. The young lady was on her 2nd shift there and was doing very well. Will come back again most definitely
A Good central hotel. Room clean and well presented. Staff really friendly. A comfy and relaxed nights sleep. Breakfast was superb Rooms: Mine was basic but very clean and a comfy bed. Room was in a small court yard, no view. Bathroom was a good size, very clean and shower was great. Nearby activities: Plenty of walking but i stayed so i had easy access to the Jaguar land rover experience. Safety: felt really safe in the hotel and town and the local area. Walkability: practically right on the high street, easy to get to but be mindful if older or have difficulty with mobility as it is a hilly area. Food and drinks: Did not eat at hotel apart from a great breakfast. Hotel menu even includes recommendations for local places to eat.
We enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent. We arrived at just after 2pm after a long journey and went to reception where we were told our room would not be ready until 3pm. We asked if we could leave the car there and go for a walk until that time and were told we would have to park in a public car park until we had checked in. We thought this was unreasonable as it was less than an hour and not worth moving the car. The receptionist relented and allowed us to register our car. No effort was made to see if the room was in fact ready. The only other suggestion we would make is that it would be nice to have a lounge or at least a couple of sofas to relax with a drink after the meal.
We booked this as a birthday treat. We have been before and enjoyed our stays in the past. It did not disappoint this time, there had been a few changes for the better, the hotel was lovely, the food delicous, the staff very helpful and pleasent to deal with. Will definately stay here again.
Lovely hotel, friendly staff and great breakfast. Dinner at the Mulberry restaurant was delicious and the location is absolutely perfect.
Very good atmosphere exceptional service great tasty food the best English breakfast great choice for dinner you can thalk to the chef at any time
Excellent hotel
Ok kind of place
I loved the place . Nice staff specially maclive Because of him i rate rate 5/5 Service
I stayed for one night and found the hotel to be no more than average. The room was clean and reasonably equipped but maintenance was required. The floorboards creaked throughout, the shower tray ponded. The checkin was somewhat arduous and signed directions could be better. Traditional sash windows don t offer great sound proofing from the road noise and the hourly chime of the local town clock interrupted sleep pattern. Relatively good food though. Accommodating staff in restaurant/bar.
Great location, clean room and top notch breakfast.
I have regularly booked clients into the Mount Pleasant Hotel to stay and always found them fully supportive for customers and totally efficient to deal with - 5 stars awarded without question!!
Only moderately satisfied. The restaurant was disappointing; I would advise eating elsewhere in the town. The room was just about satisfactory - the towels, eg, were old and small and the bath was too small. Overall, the hotel does not live up to its picturesque frontage.
Treated my elderly mother to lunch on her birthday. Couldnt fault the food or service. Everyone so helpful and the bill was under £20!
Have stayed here many times, staff are always helpful, friendly and welcoming, they do a lovely breakfast and their poached eggs are the best ever!
Went for a meal in The Mulberry Tree. Excellent food and service. Not our first time and certainly not our last Thoroughly recommend Service : 5/5 |
Superb hotel in the centre of Malvern. All the staff were fantastic but Ashlea and Ben catered for our every need! I would thoroughly recommend a stay here. The bar is well stocked and the food amazing!
A very enjoyable stay in a beautiful, quirky building in an exceptional setting. The staff were very helpful when the mattress was too soft for my wife and immediately arranged a new room. Excellent breakfast and friendly helpful stall. Will aim to return.
The location of Mt Pleasant Hotel was excellent, easy to find with ample parking. Next to a charming little park with an interesting history plus a backdrop of the Malvern Hills with easy access from the hotel for those interested in walking which was perfect for us. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful - A female receptionist readily offered information about walking and visiting various sites and printed maps for us, the waiting staff in the dining room were extremely polite and attentive. The breakfast and evening meal menus offered a wide selection of food and any guests with allergies were catered for as far as possible. The areas for improvement were minor - better toilet paper, soap, teabags and instant coffee and perhaps wall art to improve the atmosphere in the bedrooms - all of which shouldn t be insurmountable for such a lovely hotel.
The staff were very friendly and polite and work hard. The room we stayed in (11) was very stuffy and hot and even with a fan on for the whole of Saturday evening still made it uncomfortable. The toilet smelt of Dampness and when we investigated it was due to Fan not running on after light was switched off and there was no window in fact we sprayed deodorant to try to hide the smell.
Lovely location and very friendly welcoming staff! This is a great choice for somewhere to stay in town and they do a great breakfast!
We had a very nice stay. Room was comfortable and the food very nice.
Where to start. Great room with a fantastic view. Excellent breakfast in the bar. The staff couldnt have been kinder or more professional. Will definitely return.
Excellent service from start to finish. We had breakfast on both mornings and the food was superb. Attentive staff who were also kind enough to find space for us to have a quick drink in The Mulberry Tree on Saturday evening despite the restaurant being fully booked for the evening service. Will definitely be back.
Had food here, was very nice, service was very friendly, gave my daughter some crayons so she could colour the kids menu :)
Perfect from start to finish! Top class service from all the staff. We will return
Attended my sons wedding at the Abbey Hotel . The staff an food was amazing .Highly recommend . Thank you for all your hard work giving us the best day to remember .
Some minor issues, but very clean and helpful.
Stayed in the family room. The restaurant and breakfast were lovely. But the room we were in was a little tired and worn and didn t look as nice as the pictures. Could do with a refurb seemed to be very basic. Although Superking bed was nice!
Brill hotel, friendly staff, lovely location, great food and bar, great weekend
Loved staying at this 19 bedroom hotel, slept really well in a room of our choice at the back of the hotel. We had breakfast here and there was plenty of fruit as well as low sugar cereals in addition to the usual breakfasts that you get in hotels. Hardly any oil on our cooked breakfasts too which we appreciated and everything is marked up as gluten/lactose free which was brilliant (Ive been predominantly dairy free for over 20 years). Mount Pleasant is really up to speed on dietary requirements and the fact that many people like to eat healthily so well done . Stunning views of the flower troughs on the railings across the road from the hotel and of The Priory Abbey and the streets of Great Malvern Town itself from the front bedroom windows. The hotels Mulberry Tree Restaurant facing the front has the same views too. Brilliant service throughout the hotel .
Really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable bed, clean and pleasant room, good food, helpful staff (particularly the restaurant waiters, who were great) and great location for enjoying the town, hills, and theatre. Rooms
Very comfortable, friendly staff, excellent location, excellent food
Went there a meal. Location is wonderful. Food was good value by todays standards.
It was a nice hotel with a very good bar especially. The room was nice although the shower wasnt great but the room was comfy and there was a great view. There were 2 disappointments, firstly the car park isnt big enough for the guests, so we had to leave our car in a very awkward place and keep looking out for when someone had moved so we could get a space, that was frustrating. The 2nd was that breakfast wasnt served until 7.30am, which is very late for a hotel. Our business meeting started at 7.45am so we were unable to have the breakfast that we had paid for. As a frequent traveller I can safely say that most places start breakfast at 6-6.30am. Other than that it was a nice hotel, i would stay again.
Traditional country town centre hotel, spacious clean rooms, great services and location.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly caring staff, wonderful food and drink. Food and drinks: Excellent coffee, good selection of gluten free on the menu, huge portions! Hotel highlights Luxury, Great view, Quiet, Great value
Lovely afternoon tea. Friendly efficient staff.
Whilst we had a lovely large room with beautiful views it was very cold. The heating was totally inadequate for the size of the room and the lovely and very comfortable 6 bed had a duvet that was far too small. Although we used the extra (very worn) blanket as well we were still very cold. The only way to describe this room (supposedly deluxe) is very tired! The bedding and standard lamp need replacing and some of the furniture is in a very poor state. There was also a lot of road noise, so all in all we did not have a good nights sleep.Such a shame as the position of the hotel is excellent and the breakfast was delicious. We also had an evening meal in the restaurant and that too was very good indeed, with excellent service.
We had the perfect weekend away. Staff, Hotel and location faultless
Lovely Georgian hotel opposite the Abbey. Walkability: Everything is within easy walking distance. Rooms : 4/5 |
Excellent stay xx
Front of house services (restaurant and the bar services) were good....but the room we were given was subject to noise from the kitchen below and the air-conditioning unit to the shop next door which woke us several times during each night. The response from the lady on reception was beyond belief. We approached her on the morning of 28/11/22 and she reminded us that we had booked into the budget rooms and as such condoned a bad nights sleep. My advice is DO NOT STOP IN ROOMS 17,18 AND 19. You would be better sleeping in a tent on the car park. I would have given it 1 star but my wife reminded me how good the bar and restaurant staff were.
Comfortable accomodation. Great breakfasts! Very pleasant staff and when we had a problem totally unrelated to the hotel, they went out of their way to help. Highly recommended.
Food is great
