Gastropub serving British food with down-to-earth guest rooms.
we had lovely food and lovely service, would definitely come again
Ordered from the two for £15 menu. Good food, decent portions and great real ale is a winning combo for me
Booked for Sunday roast whilst staying in the area for the weekend. Staff and service was lovely, but pub was practically empty and no atmosphere. After morning walking, all desperate for a good old traditional roast. Quite disappointing despite first appearances. Only small amount of meat, which was tasteless and beef wafer thin but tough. Roast potatoes were overcooked with no soft insides and barely any vegetables, just an artful slice of parsnip, carrot and small sprig of broccoli.
Good value rooms and comfortable beds. Really nice view out from the pub as well.
Really welcoming bar staff, offering iced water as we came in midway through a walk to add to the excellent beer.
I stayed at the Railway Inn with my friend this weekend. The rooms were well appointed and the pub itself had a great feel and friendly locals. We were lucky enough to spend some time talking to the landlady and bar staff who were all really friendly. Additionally the view from the place is outstanding. Thanks for a great stay. We'll be back next year should we attend the same event,
Just spent the one night there as visited the Malvern show, great location just a 5 minute drive from the show ground. Stayed in Room 1 which was very spacious on 2 levels tea coffee available etc. Nice bathroom with large walk in shower etc . You could moan a pick of paint and bathroom door needed so.e attention but on the whole a lovely room and all staff very pleasant on arrival and throughout our stay. Topped off with a nice couple of pints and a meal.
Stayed one night with dinner. The welcome was good. The meal was lovely pub grub, no frills, and quickly served. The beers were excellent. The room was clean and adequate for what we needed. A great stay.
Lovely Malvern Pub, great steak will visit again
Food and drinks: We had a wonderful evening meal at the Railway Inn. There were 8 of us. Some had pasta bolognese, a couple ordered lasagna, two had the meat pie and one had the gammon ( ham steak). Everyone agreed the food was excellent. The service was very good. We knew the food was prepared fresh and it was definitely worth the wait. Our best meal out in Malvern!
Really dog friendly and lovely service. A few real ales and lagers, reasonably priced pub food.
Bit of a disappointing end to the day. They do not serve food until five oclock
Perfect
My daughter and I had a lovely meal here, on our first day in the Malverns. The food and service was wonderful. Food and drinks: Steak and Ale pie with mash and veg
Just finished eating some food and drinks. Awesome staff most friendly staff you can ever find. Calm and peaceful atmosphere. Would recommend everyone to visit this place.
Clean, tidy, good view. Evening meal, good. Rooms
Service is great. Best chips in Malvern. Pours a great pint of Guinness. Lovely staff and great dart board Food and drinks: Fantastic
Wouldnt have it any other way.
Super pub
Nice quiet pub by day with friendly staff and decent food. Pool table and darts were nice too.
Brilliant pub. If you are looking for a nice pint, and game of pool or darts, then this is the place for you.
Excellent local, good beer and very reasonably priced pub food menu!
Went to the railway for a friends 99th birthday party. The attention given to the birthday boy and the kindness shown were second to none. Alison (landlady) also cooked Tom a Xmas dinner and delivered it to him on the 25th and sat with him for a while. We went to say thankyou a few days later and were promptly invited to sit down and Tom was encouraged to sing for the crowd. Pubs like this are a rarity and should be treasured, as should the staff who make it such a fantastic experience
Good pub with friendly staff
It was a dissapointing Sunday 30th birthday lunch on 12th Feb 23. We were very impressed with the young man who single handed had to serve at the bar take meals and drink orders and serve the food. This however led to long delays. The meals came out in batchs of 4 or 5 with long delays in between and as such the people with the first batch had finished eating before the last meal was served. My Pork roast consisted of just two, one millimeter thin slices of pork... Really small potion. The vegetarian pie had pastry that simply couldnt be cut at all, and what looked just one unidentified veg as the filling. Overall very dissapointing. We did point out the issues at the time and simply got a verbal apology. Over £200 poorly spent.
Efficient friendly service.
Delicious food and excellent service, lovely pub, highly recommend Food and drinks: Beautifully presented, hot and very tasty Service : 5/5 |
Probably the best roast dinner I have had since I lived in Sussex. Not only good portion sizes but all the trimmings as well. We were there after celebrating my birthday the previous night and we were hungry. Staff were first rate and there was a nice atmosphere apart from one lady who had a very loud facetime call. However, did not last too long and felt no need to leave the place or move as I have had to recently in another eatery in Worcester. The food was prepared with attention to detail and presentation was excellent. We arrived with no booking and were seated within a few minutes. I also noted great outside seating and bar area. Overall, a great experience. One funny thing though, my mate ordered roast chicken but got beef but due to the quality of the roast beef it became a happy accident. Lol. 25.06.23.Revisit. Still five star. You know when you have been somewhere great you are worried to return and not find what you remember. However, on the way back from Upton stopped in. A great welcome and I had the roast beef again. A complete delight succulent beef and again a beautiful array of vegetables all cooked superbly well. Topped off by lashings of rich thick gravy who could want for more. In addition, I discovered something, as it was so humid I sat in the undercover seating area just outside the restaurant where you get a lovely breeze. As a famous person once said, Ill be back lol
Nice place a bit far out for us food not great but ok
My daughter and I stayed here after having a weekend over the hills. We were able to bring our puppy, Sammy, who was welcomed to the Inn & able to stay in our room with us. The rooms are nice & big, ours had a little table outside for us to sit at & watch the sun go down. The room has a settee, table, T.V. & kettle with tea/coffee & sugar. There was an extra pillow in the wardrobe & blankets to use if needed as well as towels. They do also supply some hand sanitiser, but we opted to not use it as it smelled like plain water & we just used our own. We ate a vegetarian naan pizza, which was delicious & there was enough to share between the two of us.
Expensive food, and missed pudding from order. Had to send 2 pints back that tasted of batterie acid. Then to top it off the fire alarm went off at 23:30 till about 03:00 ,with no assistance from the pub. Stay from hell Rooms : 1/5 |
Lovely no-nonsense hotel if youre looking for a base to explore Malvern from. Very comfy beds, spacious rooms with a lovely view. Food in the pub is a little overpriced but you expect this in such a beautiful area!
Expensive food , had to wait a long time, then when it did arrive 3 out of 5 of us had to complain, the food was very poor considering it wasnt cheap , they replaced the one meal with another and that was just as bad as the lst, they did deduct one of the meals off the bill . We paid the bill ,as we were leaving the barmaid shouted bye bye and dont come back *
Five of us dined. Two were totally dissatisfied and asked for a meal replacement or change of meal. They wete homemade Lasagne, which was disgusting and my wife had fish and chips and the fish was still raw in places and on replacement the batter was still uncooked on the inside. Whilst reporting this, i pointed out the waitress that my medium rare steak was ble, almost raw, but i could eat my steak like that so i wasnt complaining. We paid the requested bill in full and as we left the waitress rudely called out Thank you.. dont come back! ... so they were substandard in every department. The Butty Bach beer was good.
Great pint - good pool table
I had a lovely Sunday Roast, choice of Beef, Chicken or Lamb friendly staff.
very comfortable room, complete with 2 comfy chairs in the seating area. very comfy bed and the room was a good size with good layout. Good toiletries, with plenty of toilet paper for a change. Great location for the 3 counties showground. Very friendly and helpful staff, and good pub grub. Perfect for our one night stay for the Malvern Show.
Just had a drink
A most enjoyable stay. Food was good. Room was nice and comfy. Consider getting the en suite room. Offering constructive criticism, the shower curtains could be longer so water doesn t splash on the floor. Location was great for us cause it was close to our friends. But it isn t in town fyi. Ledbury down the road was a great place to visit and walk around.
Had a lovely evening there. The food was lovely. The staff was great and dog friendly. Will definitely go back. Service
Absolutely beautiful place stunning views friendly staff wow

We didn t stay here but we did have dinner twice, both times were equally as good with great food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Cooking homemade food goes a long way and it really does show. Give this a try I m sure you won t be disappointed.

Excellent Sunday roast and good service. Only thing that was missing was the Yorkshire pudding!! Service : 5/5
Location of the restaurant is value for money. However the food taste is very average. Nice hangout place with friends .
Lovely staff very helpful great atmosphere
Very welcoming and dog friendly, food great, freshly cooked and very tasty. Menu was for starters and mains, including a vegetarian option, a light bite menu was not seen. Local ales served, (sampled and approved), along with the usual range of alternative alcoholic beverages. Good outdoor seating area both open and covered. Small car park, very clean toilet (gents, a good benchmark). Can happily recommend stopping off here.
Warm genuine welcome. Beer well served. Great views if you get the right table

Very friendly. Lovely coffee :)
A good selection of vegetarian meals. Delicious vegan coconut curry. They also serve traditional favourites like fish and chips and lasagna. Lovely puddings - three different cheesecakes. The staff were lovely.
Nice place and very friendly.
The pub has been refurbished with decor that is fitting for the name Railway. The food is delicious. I have had the garlic mushroom tagliatelle from the specials board and the vegetarian bean roast dinner. I cant wait to try the rest of the menu!

Had lunch in The Railway Inn today, the food was amazing, and great portions, spotlessly clean, and friendly staff, it was a real pleasure to eat here, we will definately be going back, prices are great as well. Highly recommend it.
Beautiful location for an inn. When I arrived on Friday evening I was pleasantly surprised with the size and comfort of the room. Nice size with a big comfortable bed, fully functioning bathroom shower and 2 heaters on either side of the room that work wonderfully, especially in the cold days we ve been having recently. The staff were very friendly and helpful to us and always made sure we were taken care of. The food at the Inn was great! Perfectly cooked steak and the cooks cheesecake is honestly the best I have ever tasted in my entire life, Home made and velvety smooth! Overall if you re ever in the Malvern area and are looking for somewhere small and comfortable to stay please PLEASE give this place a look, the money we paid was well worth the stay! Oh and not to mention they have good WIFI!
I ate here on Friday night, a great burger, clearly hand made and cooked to medium, great chips and onion rings. Butty Bach on draught and a perfect pint. Good COVID procedures in place and very clean facilities.
Great place in a fantastic location.
Excellent service and great food!!
Nice clean comfortable room couldnt wish for more at the price. Exceptionally welcoming and helpful staff and a great meal in the evening.
Great place, amazing food and a great pint. I will be sure to head back over soon.
A warm welcome. Great food. A lovely little pub.
Quiz here every Wednesday.
We contacted the Railway inn before we went for a meal to advise them we were vegan. The barmaid was so helpful both on the phone and when we visited. She knew which wines were vegan and talked us through the menu. Everyone was really friendly and our dog enjoyed all the attention she got. Lovely to be made so welcome.
Very good service and friendly atmosphere
Great beer, lively pub, lovely staff
Food very good, gd service. Toilets could do with an up date.we will return.
Actually a surprisingly good pub with good priced drinks, free pool and darts and a nice looking restaurant
Really super place, lovely views and great food
Very pleasant dining experience at The Railway Inn on Sunday Afternoon 31/3/19 . Was extremely impressed with the service from the staff as they were very polite & helpful & could not do enough for us . The out look was just beautiful & the other diners were very courteous & well behaved . I wish that the pubs & restaraunts were this nice in my area ( North Warwickshire) but they are mostly complete dives infested with chavs & other scutters, making dining out not a very pleasant experience.
Nice friendly staff
Closed down, dont
The staff here are exceptionally friendly. They let us charge our electric car over night.
Great service. Good beer x
Easy to get to.
Handy for Malvern theatre.
Popped in for a post-walk pint, was met with a friendly welcome and a nice pint. My missus had a glass of the malbec and that was very nice indeed.

Good food!
Small menu but the food is cooked to a high standard and really tasty. The staff are very friendly, attentive and helpful. Nice choice of well kept beers and ciders. The room we stayed in was a little tired but it was clean and tidy with a lovely view. The current owners are slowly updating everything and havent been there very long, Ill definitely be returning to see how things progress. I would absolutely recommend this pub.
Good selection of well cooked and well presented food, friendly staff and good beer Nice pub
We had two nights here and I think you would be lucky to find anywhere else in the area better for the prices. Lovely place to stay, the food is well presented and delicious. Aimee and Stefan are incredibly nice, hard working people and we hope that the Railway inn is a great success in the future.
