Something Italian is one of the best Italian restaurants in Melbourne. The menu and food is excellent, very tasty and the servings are huge. Service was very quick and the staff are always friendly. Highly recommend for your next birthday, anniversary, celebration, date night or just a good night out. My date was very impressed!
Along with an extensive regular menu, the specials board is pretty good, too. Everyone at our table enjoyed their fare.
We were a group of 5. We all loved our meals and the share bruschetta pizza delicious. Love the BYO option as well. Great food and service. We will be back
Had a wonderful dinner with friends last night. Delicious food with warm & friendly service & great atmosphere. We had the calamari, rib eye steak, barramundi & amatriciana pasta followed by sticky date pudding & crepes with berries for dessert. Every dish was amazing. Our first visit, we’ll definitely be back!
Had a wonderful Fathers Day dinner here. Pasta and calamari was excellent and the chocolate soufflé was amazing. Service and atmosphere was spot on. Thank you for a great night out.
Celebrated our anniversary last week with dinner here. My duck in pomegranate sauce was delicious. My husband had veal, not quite as good, but tasty. The waiter was attentive and helpful. Highly recommend chocolate souffle for dessert, Berry crepes with vanilla icecream also yummy. Try this restaurant for yourself, it's a winner.
Great tasting Italian food with friendly service, highly recommend a visit We the Whitebait to start with that we so tasty, then enjoyed a Supreme Pizza between us Look forward to going back to try some other menu options
We had takeaway a few times which was quite good but eating in is just weird... we have been a few times lately to eat in and each time we have entered into an eerily quiet restaurant with no music and just incredible silence, followed by a lacklustre greeting, which is fine but just odd. The food is so so, but much better than the desserts which are a no... the coffee was pretty good though. If you want atmosphere and just a sense of occasion, this is not the place.

Highly tecommend Crab linguine. The whole fish dishes are decent too. But rest of the stuffs in the menu are not Italian (more fusion) and average.

Unfortunately U forgot the cheese with my gnocchi was very strong Blue cheese. Luckily my partner ate it and gave me his fish which was delicious. Food

First time here on the basis of a recommendation and it lived up to all its praises. Wonderful food, calm and pleasant ambience so we all could have a good conversation and the service from both ladies was excellent. Will definitely be back again, worth the trip from the Northern suburbs !

Ordered through uber eats and recurved a cold pizza an hour later. I guess they forgot to send it out once it was cooked. Not a very good service.
I was served completely wrong order and the staff was very unprofessional to handle the situation and told me that that s what I ordered. Just avoid this restaurant there are few good Italian restaurants on Glenferrie road

Nice, cozy ITALIAN restaurant in glenferrie road. Food very nice and reasonably priced for the area, staff were a delight willing to have a conversation but also willing to let you be at times. Loved all of it!

I have been going here for years (since around 2010). The food has always been lovely and the staff have always been wonderful. They put extra effort into their service and their love of the restaurant has always been obvious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal (pizza, pasta or otherwise) and a smooth night out
Specials were minestrone and crab and chili linguine, Great balance of clean flavors. Ill definitely be back as I had food envy as each dish came out of the kitchen.

Its ok. I dont think Id drive out of my way to eat there. Not exactly a lot of ambeince. Lit brighter than the sun with very plain decor. Food is good though.

Great food with top class service.
Wanted a great Italian meal, got very ordinary food. The Pasta Carbonara was really just OK. At least it was hot and the pasta was cooked well. It was a bit dry and under seasoned - I could have cooked it the same if not better (and Im no chef). The Dessert - well.... we ordered the Chocolate Souffle... waited a good 40 minutes between courses - despite ordering dessert with mains.... I think we got the Chocolate Souffles sad cousin, the eggy no taste souffle. The service was very good, and I wanted the food to be good as well.... sigh!
Friendly place, good for locals. The lamb chops are good and the gelato is pretty good to finish.

Something? Practically Nothing Italian
My wife and I eat at Something Italian about once a fortnight and it is always excellent especially all the veal dishes and the steak! The salads and vegetables are always fresh. And it has a BYO option so we dont have to pay $50 for an average bottle of wine.
I love this restaurant and we go there often. My favourite is Veal Zingara. Amazing!! The staff are friendly and the food is always delicious and authentic. Not just bland pasta and pizza like some other restaurants.
I was a walk in on a Wed night at 6pm and asked if I could get a quick meal and the staff member (bald guy) said really? In a tone that indicated I was an inconvenience. At this stage there were only 2 tables of diners and he told me I could sit down the back if I were quick. I ordered the Veal Fungi and it was possibly the worst veal dish I had tasted. It was under seasoned and tasted watery. The whole dish had no flavour and didnt have any Italian traits whatsoever. Ill never go back. Over priced food from chefs that clearly cant cook Italian food.
