Meat banquet

Zikrayat is a family favourite for whenever we are craving or recommending middle eastern food. Highly recommend all kebabs and the chicken rice. Will always keep coming back and next time, will ensure i get pictures!

Fabulous food and friendly waiting staff. They were very busy the night(Sat) we went. Bit of a wait but this did not effect the quality of our platter for 2, it was authentic and delicious! Do book! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great place to go for dinner as a group or a couple. We were walks in on a Saturday night and got a table for 2 easily. The kind waiter Eli recommedned the banquet for 2 which was a great amount of food with delicious dips, fresh bread, and a serving of entrees and main dishes. Also, try their fresh lemonade, it was delicious.

I wanted to celebrate something today. I walked past Zikrayat and thought a new place to try. I was greeted and seated politely and without fuss. I thought I would try the Kofta, which was 3 lamb skewers on rice with tahini and salad. Delicious, well balanced and so tasty. The home made lemonade was delicious and I picked up a box of mix sweets at the counter. It came to $52, I was full and the sweets, should last (hopefully) at least a week. My birthday is coming up, next month, this is where I will be celebrating, with friends and family. Parking: Street parking and some paid parking blocks, not far from train station.

Overall, we were satisfied with the service and the food. The mixed grilled chicken was particularly delicious, but the meat was just average. We would recommend this place for a quick and tasty meal.

We were one of two tables dining at 6.30pm on a Friday evening. We ordered the trio of dips which came with just 2 pieces of bread, which was inadequate given the amount of dips provided. The waitress then mixed up our main orders with the other table. When reminded of our order, they proceeded to remove our dishes from the other table, who may or may not have already dug in to our dishes, and placed them infront of us without an apology. The food was served lukewarm and while the chicken and lamb were tender, they both really lacked flavour. The rice was fluffy but also flavourless. The venue was nicely decorated but for the prices charged, this was a disappointing experience.

It was our first time in Zikrayat yesterday. What a beautiful restaurant to have dinner in! It is very hard for me to find the authentic taste of lebanese food like a home food and I was really fascinated ... wow wow how delicious it is, everything is super nice.. Not only the food, yesterday it was very nice saturday night, family environment and friendly .... Mainly I want to thank the owner and everyone for the professional job and the service, they are so welcoming and friendly. Gorgeous restaurant with authentic middle eastern design and authentic Lebanese food. The service and atmosphere were amazing and the food was superb. Would definitely recommend.

We went to this restaurant expecting great authentic food but were quite disappointed. Westernised Lebanese food is the best description. Pricing- the value for money just isn t there. The portion sizes are very small for the cost. Chicken shawarma - biggest disappointment! It was just cut up strips of chicken pan fried with some capsicum and onion and the most sparest of seasoning. If your not going to make it the authentic way over charcoal please don t bother to make it at all. The staff were polite and service was good but everything else didn t stack up at all.

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating a friends birthday at this Lebanese restaurant, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. A delicious taste of a true Lebanese cuisine. The chef cook at this restaurant really knows how to balance a perfect mix between Australian taste, Lebanese flavour and authentic spice. Cannot rave enough about the delicious food at this place! We had the meat banquet ($55 per person) and every single dish was divine. From the crunchy pickled vegetables to the chargrilled lamb sausage and the still warm puffy homemade flatbread, everything was perfectly seasoned and subtly complex in flavour. Best date night yet

I absolutely loved this restaurant. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, especially Elei, who was able to make adjustments to suit my dietary requirements. All of the food was freshly made to order, was so full of flavour and were generous servings as well. The home made lebanese lemonade is just incredible-with a hint of rose water, it truly is a unique and beautiful beverage. The venue is modern, clean and large enough for events. With such delicious and authentic lebanese food, plus exceptional service, why wouldnt you come here? Definitely will come again.

Disappointing experience on Saturday night. The only lamb main course dishes that were available were the minced lamb on the a la carte. The lamb chops and shaved lamb dishes including kebabs although offered on a la carte menu were apparently kept for the banquet and unavailable to us...... misleading.

Worse customer service, too pricey for bonquet. Food service was so slow. No high chair for kids. Waited two hours for banquet and went there to celebrate a birthday. Took a cake but the service was so slow after two hours had to leave without the cake.

The worst dining service ever in a restaurant of this calibre. A restaurant in the heart of Malvern you would think the service would be outstanding given the fact the clientele is affluent. No high chair for the kids. The banquet was over priced for the amount of food it had. Not good at all. Dont go here for a special birthday or something special. Avoid at all costs.

Nice food good service

We were looking for somewhere in Malvern that offered vegan options. I am vegan however my friend is not. Searching google we both happened upon Zikrayat Lebanese. What a great find! We ordered the vegetarian banquet which easily could be made vegan and it far exceeded our expectations. The food and the presentation were beautiful. We were really after time to catch up and the fact that the food, service and atmosphere was perfect was a plus. I will be back for sure. Of course for the non vegans there is plenty to choose from too. If you are in the neighborhood definitely give it a try you will not be disappointed. We will be back for sure!

This is not very authentic lebanese cuisine. The decor is beautiful and it seems to always have a table full when we walk past but theres no value for money in terms of the meals. Nice service and good atmosphere but the food just didnt do its job.

This was an easy pick as we almost bought a place on the street opposite. Located in the heart of Malvern, Zikrayat specialises in hearty and authentic Lebanese food. The menu is full of delicious choices like dips and pita bread, mezze platters, tabouli salad and lamb cutlets. There also cabbage rolls and being one of my favourite snacks, I always order them when spotted, and sure enough these didn t disappoint. Zikrayat signature dish, the chicken pilaf with minced lamb, was also a memorable dish, cooked with a tasty combination of two meats, nuts, herbs and spices. Definitely one to add to our growing list of local favourites!

There is no mention of there only being a banquet menu on the weekends. The meat although tender was without flavour. Chicken was dry. Meat cigars were oversized and under seasoned. Falafel centre was a bit undercooked. Portion size of the dips was very small. The bread and Fatoush were good. Being of Middle Eastern descent, this was a disappointing dining experience.

This place was amazing. The food was insanely good and the owner is such a kind man who had no issues with dietary requirements at all (1 gluten free and 1 vego). Vegetarian food was so yum - the cauliflower was to die for, and I dont usually like falafel much but I couldnt get enough of these ones. We had the banquet and I would highly recommend it. Fluffy warm pita, silky smooth hummus, creamy labneh, smokey babaganoush, fried cauliflower to die for, succulent skewers, the bamieh (okra stew) was delicious and intensely savoury and I was delighted it came in the veg selection as I probably wouldnt have picked it off the menu myself. The coffee, wine and baklava were all excellent as well. We were VERY full. Great experience start to finish and I look forward to going back again!

We had the most amazing meal. Dips with fluffy bread and tabouli, halomi cheese and lamb sausages for entrees. Chicken and lamb skewers for main and baklava of course to finish. The team serving us were just lovely as well. Will definitely tell everyone about this gem.

I have tried few other Lebanese restaurants. But none had the freshness and the quality of the ingredients than what youre getting here at Zikrayat. Breads were freshly made from the oven, dips were really good but not too heavy, meats are succulent, juicy and tender. And lastly, the baklava is probably the best baklava Ive ever tasted, not too sweet and oily like some of the baklava youd find at HSP restaurants. I would also like to highlight Sam and Sams staff for their excellent service. Definitely coming back

Went here for dinner on 2 July 2022. Had the banquet which was a fair price, but also the service and food quality was absolutely superb. Another major bonus is that they allow BYO - wine. You definitely need to give this restaurant a try. I know I ll be returning and spreading the word to my friends.

Best Lebanese restaurant ever! I ve been 3 times and staff are always friendly and give great customer service, they are very hospitable. Food is always delicious and even when they re super busy, the quality is still top notch. Very impressed with these guys and highly recommend. Hi. I never write reviews but on viewing so many 5 star ones l had to disagree. Why? We attended the restaurant on Saturday night. A little noisy but had atmosphere. We ordered a simple entree for 4. Basic but ok. Then a meat platter for 2 and vegetarian platter for 2. As big travellers and regular restauranteurs these meals were very very disappointing. We expected the meat platter to have significant meat especially for the price. But there were only 2 shasliks, few nibbles and padded the plate filled with chips! Same with vegetarian.. Very minimal. Very disappointing.. Definitely our last visit. Never again. Felt ripped off which is my biggest pet hate.

We ordered through Uber eats, Lamb Shawarma was very chewy, dry & cheap cut of meat. Side salad was 3/4 full in container. No tahini sauce as per menu. Very disappointing.

Unreal traditional Lebanese, flavours are on point and decor is very well thought out. Staff are often hard to understand and come across as rude - orders always delayed.

My partner and l had a fantastic meal and evening at Zikrayat. I have been visiting Lebanese restaurants for over 40 years. Dips can be dips but the dips were delicious as well as the home made bread. We had moussaka which included chickpeas and literally one of the best that l have tasted. We also had delicious lamb, tabbouleh and there is a serviceable drinks list. I am not big on entertainment in restaurants however the dancing and dancers were terrific and hugely entertaining. Towards the end of the evening the family and friends played live middle eastern music and singing at the back of the restaurant. It was a beautiful occasion. We were served by Waseem and he and his colleagues gave lovely warm service to every table. Zikrayat is now on our list of go to places in Melbourne. Warm regards lan

Good food, Rami is a nice and entertaining guy. Prices to portions, paid about 100 for three people with three mains and the dips and salad, we were stuffed and there were enough leftovers to make a lunch. I dont see what other people are complaining about for the sizes, seems pretty normal for Melbourne to me.

The restaurant is easy to find, staff are welcoming and try to meet your every need which is nice. However, the main priority is the taste of food. The food well presented, however did not taste traditionally Lebanese. It was bland, no flavours, just plain. I believe the chef can work on his flavour palate and the dishes would be great. Thanks

This place is incredible, from the second we walked into the resteraunt Rami made us feel at home. The food is traditional food that is absolutely amazing. Rami loves a good chat and a laugh. My family & I went here for dinner last night and I just had to write a review because we enjoyed it so so much! The food was absolutely delicious & of a super high standard with an authentic, home-cooked feel. I cannot begin to describe how good the Lebanese Biriyani was....Im going back for that, for sure. The host, Rami, was such a legend, making us feel special & entertaining us. It was good value too! We will definitely all be back sometime soon. Thank you for the nice surprise Rami & Zikrayat!

Today had been my very first time trying Lebanese food. Decided to try this place out due to the high reviews.After today I can confidently say that the food here is so fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was very cosy. Customer service was top notch. The owner was very humble,entertaining and generous which made the dining experience a lot better. Surely felt welcomed here. I highly recommend this place.

Really good food.. must try the 4 dips with bread. Cant stop ordering more bread,, its so warm and comforting. Their house made lemonade is pretty good too and pairs really well with the shawarma and kababs. Very nice and quite place to visit on weekdays.

First and foremost, their full menu is not available online. Second, its not mentioned anywhere that they serve only banquet on Saturdays even while booking, their booking partner doesnt mention it. Overall the food was delicious and served in reasonable time; but as a food critic, I should review them honestly for other factors too. I have lived in Middle East for many years; hence, had authentic Palestinian, Syrian, Lebanese, Saudi, Kuwaiti, Jordanian, and Qatari cuisines many times. We also cook Arabian cuisine at home. Banquets are always good for those who do not know about the cuisine and may get confused in selecting appropriate food items. We were fasting when we reached there and really hungry; therefore, couldnt leave the place upon knowing that Saturdays are only banquet days. Anyway, looked at the banquet menu and many things were mentioned like hummus, labneh and baba ganoush dips, cheese smosas, meat cigars, fatoush, pilaf, mansaf, various types of skewers but it wasnt mentioned that main item will be chefs choice. One banquet is for $55 per person. We ordered 3. Anyway, we got 3 dips, 3 meat cigars, 1 bowl of fatoush, 3 falafel, 3 cheese smosas and lebenese bread. Their bread was no doubt fresh and hot. Though it wasnt Lebenese but Syrian pita bread. I like Syrian pita breads. Pilaf was served as main dish. I havent seen that kinda Arabian qabza or pilaf anywhere. It looked like a chinese fried rice because there were peas, carrots, and corns in the rice that you will never find in any authentic Arabian cuisine. Chicken pieces were also spreaded on the rice which was again uncommon. No chunk of lamb meat in there which was very disappointing for us. Now, those rice were no doubt scrumptious. We asked about skewers and host said that today I am serving pilaf only in the banquet but as I mentioned earlier it isnt mentioned in the menu that chef will surprise you with his choice. Conclusion: service was good, food was tasty, banquet with one main dish without meat is bit expensive. I will give 3 star because I felt, menu is intentionally not available online and banquet menu is designed to confuse the customers. Advice: If you dont like banquet menu, dont visit them on Saturdays.

Cusomer service was great welcomibg and friendly staff, they are good for a laugh aswell. Food was so full of flavour never had anything so good. For an average person like myself its abit expensive but woupd not stop me from going back for the flavour and experience another time. Highly recommend

Absolutely amazing food, if you are looking for some comfort food and Dont want to spend too much...this is the place to go for. A must try is their Babaganush and bread...Sambousek in Entree Chicken Pilaf Rice in mains. Cant wait to be back again for the Baklava.

Sorry to say but not enough food for a banquet. They promote that they have a variety of great wines but when I asked for a wine list I was refused and told to choose either red or white. None of the traditional Lebanese kofte and kibbeh were included in the banquet which we were hoping to have and no meat other than one chicken wing per person. Overall not worth the $500 we spent there. The host was entertaining as was the belly dancer which is the reason they even got one star. Definitely not a restaurant for people who know their food. I don t like to leave bad reviews but hopefully this will be taken on board as constructive criticism.

Don t ever order take away from this place. I ordered $160 worth of food. Didn t get my yoghurt dressing with my lamb mansaf and did not get any bread with the two dips I ordered. Rang back over 25 times and no answer on a Saturday night obviously weren t interested in taking anymore bookings or take away orders. Unbelievable. I so appalled with the situation. Make sure you check your order before you leave with it.

Amazing food and service

Since the end of Almazette, I thought Id never find lebanese food that good. I still havent. I found Zikrayat to be 10 times better. That fried cauliflower is to die for. Great meals. Im so happy I found a new Lebanese restaurant.

I would highly recommend this restaurant, I have been only twice ,My first time visit was my Birthday, I loved the service, the food was Fresh v good portion. It was Brillaint.we booked a table of 7 on my Birthday, it was Saturday night, was v busy but again regardless of being busy they had the best customer service ever I have to been to melbournes resturant. I would definately recommend to my family n friends for future.

Takeaway Feedback - I feel bad giving this a 2 Star rating. We were looking to explore a Lebanese Cuisine and decided to go for Zikrayat based on the reviews. I guess, most of the positive reviews are for Dine-In. My Takeaway didnt live up to the expectations. I ordered items simply based on the picture and the short descriptions on the takeaway menu. Items I received certainly didnt look same as in the pictures. 1. Too Pricey - $26 for Shish Kebab - 3 lamb skewers on a small bed of bland rice (menu showed yellow rice, I got dark/brownish with no greens as was in the picture. (Note: my pic shows only 2 skewers, but there were 3) 2. Same for Shish tawook - $22 for 3 chicken skewers on a small bed of rice - Takeaway menu pic shows lemon wedges that I didnt get and came with same bland rice. Chicken pieces were Dry. 3. No major issues with Lamb Shawarma, Baba Ghanouj and pack of 8 falafels - just pricey. 4. The food I received had some novelty, but failed to highlight Lebanese Cuisine. Total cost: $114 ( My family could have had a good buffet lunch at China Bar Burwood for a similar price) I would like to suggest the owner to consider reducing the takeaway price or at least increase the quantity. I am positive, the sit-in experience will be much better.

We had a nice and tasty dinner yesterday there. Freindly staff. The manager looked after us after we explained that we have food allergy so he made sure our food is free of any allergen we mentioned. We ll come again.

Nice place to try delicious middle eastern foods but not on Saturday evening!! Staff are very friendly too. They said they have belly dancer on Saturday nights when we booked a table but they didn t have a belly dancer!!! They tried to convince us that belly dancer was there on last Saturdays but I don t believe so since only a few tables were occupied by customers and it was obvious not many people go there during weekend. They charge you $55 without drink for a food package included small portion of different foods; that s more than enough for you to feel you are full but all in all it worth $30ish; not $55. I still recommend you try this restaurant but on other nights to save your money.

Fantastic food, we had the selection of dips, vegetarian kibbeh and moussaka, so yummy. The staff were really polite. I also saw them doing extra cleaning of tables, so place was very clean. Will definitely be back and recommend.

Great food service and hospitality. The banquet was excellent and great value. The belly dancer was an unexpected bonus! We are new to the area and Zikrayat will be a regular dining spot. Takeaway is great too.

Went to Zikrayat over the weekend, and it was great - yummy food and super friendy owner Rami, who went out of his way to serve last minute delicuous kanafeh for us. Delicious and authentic.

Rami is the host of all hosts. When you walk into this place it doesnt feel like a restaurant, you feel as though youre walking into his home. He is very attentive with all customers needs and goes above and beyond to make sure theyre met. Pre celebration for my 30th and I must say its just all round amazing to be there. The food is so lovely, taste of heaven if you ask me. During these unprecedented times, you get a meal worth paying for. The flavours make you feel youve gone over seas and the presentation is sublime. I would highly recommend you try and dont forget to try the lamb Thank you again Rami, you know well be back.
