We were a party of 8 (incl. 3 children and a dog). Pre- ordered given time of year (December), but food was lovely and hot. Had a section to ourselves which was great (in the conservatory). Staff were super friendly and helpful throughout. Great craft beer selection too. Good location close to park for the kids after. Still came back for hot drinks with ample room and seating outside.

Visiting the area and this pub was closest to our accommodation. Very busy early on Friday evening which made for a lovely and bustlely atmosphere. If busy, you do need to have reserved a table for food. Really good selection of real ales to choose from and drinks were reasonably priced. Bar staff were attentive and ensured no-one waited to be served for very long at all. I've booked in for Sunday lunch already.

We had a very wonderful lunch at this lovely pub hidden away from the hustle and bustle in Malvern. The trio of sausages and mash was on the specials board and very special indeed - the sausages were of the very best quality and the portion was very generous. The local ale, This, was very welcome on a sunny day also. I would’ve loved to stay for longer - a fantastic find!

Stopped off in Malvern to charge the car and found this pub just down the road. Ordered come drinks (great local Robinsons cider) and would have liked food but theyd just stopped serving lunch so I had so walk to Waitrose down the road and sneak sandwiches in to eat! Lovely pub but needs to serve food a bit longer!!

Excellent Sunday Lunch backed up with friendly staff and chilled, cosy atmosphere. Found this gem on Google after meeting friends for a dog walk on Malvern Hill. Luckily we booked a table as it was busy inside and outside from beginning to end. It s a very dog friendly pub but equally if the 4 legged fur ball isn t your thing, it s also good for a family gathering or date night! We all tucked into the roast, my only criticism was I like my beef rare and it was more like medium well but we were at the 3:00 sitting so the juicy bits already eaten. We shared a lemon basil tiramisu which was phenomenal and generous portion! We will definitely return when our calves allow us to move again!

We visited yesterday with no booking, and unsurprisingly were unable to book a table. However, the staff went out of their way to contact us later on in the evening so we would ensure our booking for today! Incredibly happy with the food, atmosphere and service. Everyone was extremely friendly and the food was delicious and came to us quickly. We will be visiting here again!

Excellent ales... Some of the best in the Midlands. So 5 stars for beer. But my reason for the low rating is their ridiculous dining restrictions. I went in the pub at 6.30pm on a Saturday night after a hard day on the hills. There were abundant tables free. But incredibly, they said you cannot eat at any table outside of the dining room... An area which I never saw or frequented. I then asked if we could have a table in the dining area (wherever that was) but was told sorry we are fully booked tonight. This is at 6.30pm! So after a swift couple of pints we left. The barman kindly suggested that if we wanted to eat, there was a Chinese takeaway nearby... Yes, exactly what we wanted after travelling from Birmingham for the day. So in conclusion, this is a great pub that pretends to be a restaurant and falls woefully short. Make up your minds and start serving food at the tables!

Five of us came here after a walk. As a vegan I had a great meal, enjoying Old Mout cider, the vegan chilli con carne meal, and lemon and mango sorbets. My family enjoyed a range of meals and amongst them they decided the pie was particularly impressive, though all enjoyed their meals and the portion sizes seemed just perfect. The staff were very helpful and friendly and attentive. The toilets were decent. The restaurant area was separate to the bar which made the atmosphere for our meal a lot calmer but it was good to see how popular the bar was!

Excellent CamRA award-winning pub with a great selection of real ales. Very friendly atmosphere and log fires in winter. It could do with a lick of paint here and there, and some of the furniture is not the most comfortable. Its the best drinking pub in Malvern by far, and very good for food too in the Nags Tail restaurant. Theres a quiet garden at the back, and a very nice popular outdoor area at the front.

Great selection of inexpensive, interesting beer and larger. The slow cooked beef and ale pie was superb as were the potatoes, vegetables and copious lashings of gravy accompanying it. Top notch service. The staff were courteous, polite and very helpful. The atmosphere was positively eclectic with people from all walks of life enjoying its enchantment. Lots of seating inside and out. A meal and a pint will give you change from £20. I had a few pints hence the £20 - £30 rating to follow.

Update 28/02/2024: Just wanted to mention the amazing welcome I had from staff last time I visited, they were genuinely just so welcoming, chatty and I felt like Id stepped into somebodys home. They very kindly allowed me to order food despite being close to kitchen closing, and the food was just excellent as always. Visiting The Nags Head is like visiting a second home, it means a lot!! Love the food, the beer, the people and the vibes. ---- Ive always loved visiting The Nags for drinks when Ive been in Malvern, it has some great evening vibes and service has been consistently excellent, despite how busy it can often get - This is one popular spot! I keep forgetting there is a dining area so decided to give it a go on my last visit and the service was just as exceptional, very good value for money and food was great, not to mention how timely it was served. Highly recommend booking ahead if dining as they did say they were fully booked but fortunately they were kindly able to squeeze us in! It can get crammed inside when busy but theres plenty of heated outdoor seating too. Craft beer usually available on tap as well as plenty of cask ales, always been a small selection of craft in the fridges too. Im constantly looking forward to my next visit to Malvern knowing Ill end up here.

What an excellent pub! Very busy with groups of drinkers. Its obviously a meeting place in tbe nicest sense. But we went for food. We both ordered the steak pie in the fear that as always it would have the pastry plonked on tbe top (not a tue pie), but no it WAS a proper pie with lovely short crust pastry all round! Perfect! And whats more we asked for mash rather than chips, which although not on the menu they gladly served. The waitress as very friendly and attentive also. Atmosphere - the fact that it was called the dining room says alot! Very nicely furnished with a homely feel. Recomended for anyone, and is close to walks at the top wooded end of town. Parking easy. Go there!

Beer range and quality cannot be faulted so as a visitor to the area with a couple of hours to spare, I didnt waste time looking elsewhere. There maybe better alehouses in town, but I doubt it.

We enjoyed an excellent meal at The Nags Head at very reasonable cost. Although the pub was busy, the restaurant section was not overcrowded but was very comfortable. The service was friendly, helpful, and efficient. We look forward to a return visit Vegetarian options: Most options would not be suitable for vegetarians. However, choices are available Dietary restrictions: We were asked about dietary requirements

Id pre-booked table to entertain guests and we got there slightly ahead of our allotted time but although there was a sign talking about precautions (and a QR code to scan) there wasnt any directions where to go, so we strolled into the bar. The premises insists on masks (and all staff are masked up) but once seated, they can be removed - pop them back on to wander around when inside the building. We were shown our table which featured a specials board, and a drinks order was taken whilst we waited (theres a good range of beers, so we decided to spend the evening sampling most of them). My colleagues elected for the Herefordshire Beef, Mushroom & Ale Pie (standard menu), along with Belly Pork (off the specials board) and both came sitting atop a pile of creamed mash, surrounded by gravy. The belly pork has crispy skin - some good crackling - but required removing the layer of fat between that and the meat (well, its belly pork - youd expect that). The pie was rich and dense in meat, there was no scrimping on the filling here. Both dishes were accompanied by a small tureen of boiled veg - a nice mix of carrots, peas, cauliflower and broccoli - to round it off and made for a filling meal. I opted for the swordfish steak, which say atop a pile of tomato and onion risotto. I found the fish slightly overdone as the flesh was hard, but wasnt a problem to eat - and the risotto was nicely flavoured with herb oil and sweet tomatoes, although I could have done with less risotto and some veg to the side (other than rocket on top). Service was very engaging and although the dining area seemed quite popular, we didnt feel pressured to move, sitting there for a few more drinks. Eventually we shifted outside to continue working our way through the list of ales to free up the table - service here was a bit hit and miss as bar staff waited on tables to take orders but had no way of communicating it back to the bar so there were long delays whilst waiters walked around collecting orders, taking these to the bar to get fulfilled and eventually bringing trays laden with several orders out... there really needs to be some quicker ordering system, and each round had to be settled there and then rather than roll up a tab as we had when indoors. Nonetheless, was a great night out and Id definitely return - theres quite a few meals that took my fancy.

I am more than happy to share my thoughts on the Nags Head. I recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming establishment after a Malvern Hills walk with my walking group B123 Walks. The food and service were both exceptional. We were greeted with warm smiles and prompt service. The menu had a fantastic variety of options, and every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection. The staff were attentive and accommodating, making sure our experience was nothing short of amazing. The Nags Head truly knows how to take care of their customers, especially after a long and tiring walk. I highly recommend this pub to anyone looking for great food, service, and atmosphere.

Fantastic proper pub feel with over 9 ales on tap plus 4 ciders and lagers. Delightful place. Roaring fire and really busy. Really affordable beer too. We ate Sunday roast too and it was delicious, the meat a little tough but all in all the meal was great. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

Yesterday the Manager was very happy to allow our 3 ladies in Santa fancy dress to visit his pub to ask for donations for our free music festival. Upon arriving the staff turned extremely aggressive and man-handled the ladies from the premises. A change of mind or extremely rude and abusive employees? You decide.
