Worcester Rd, Newland, Malvern WR13 5AY, United Kingdom
Great place to meet fellow friends with camper vans. Great atmosphere. and friendly staff. Stopped overnight in safe area behind the Inn so could have a drink or two.
We came for lunch with elderly relatives. Staff were very accommodating and food was delicious, especially the homemade ice cream. It's not fine dining, but very good homemade food, with generous portions. My husband was delighted that the old-fashioned proper puddings come with real English custard.
I've known this pub since I was a kid, which is 40+ years. I've visited twice in the last month or so for Sunday lunch and both times it has been impeccalble wrt to the food. Friendly, accomodating staff. Will be back.
Had an excellent lunch here yesterday. Special of the day. It was a classic British dish cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Why can't all pubs serve food like this? I will visit again soon.
Just had Sunday lunch here. Quite easily the best meal I have eaten at a pub/restaurant in a long time. The food was good value and excellent and the service was immaculate. All the young servers/waiters were charming and extremely polite and very good at their job, obviously well trained. Highly recommended!
Sunday lunch birthday celebration for 24 people was greatly enjoyed.Staff were so helpful and flexible through booking process and on the day.The beef was cooked beautifully and everyone enjoyed the other roast meal choices. A memorable birthday so thank you and well done!
Nice kooky pub. Dog friendly. Nice food (although couldn't eat my curry as it was too hot) and good selection of drinks. Wouldn't want to be the cleaner here with all the Toby jugs hanging from the ceiling 🤣
Two nights in level field motorhome stop over. No nonsense old style Bar nice Dining room good outside beer Garden food served all spaces. Reasonable changing menus to above average. very helpfully Staff casually dressed. bus every hour to Great Malvern till 18.00 hrs check! 50 minutes walk on busy roads. Dogs very welcome. No toilet when pub shut. We will revisit when passing.
Amazing place in a wonderful part of the country. Food is amazing and prices are very reasonable. Brilliant atmosphere
Excellent quality food and service.
Lovely food, friendly helpful staff in a beautiful part of the country. Will definitely use again if were in the area.
Great food and friendly staff also very good service
Food and drinks: First time we have been to the Swan Inn, met a friend for lunch. I had roast Pork Belly and my wife Lamb Faggots, both absolutely delicious, of particular note was the dish of 6/7 varieties of vegetables - all perfectly cooked. Puddings excellent with proper thick creamy custard. Prices very reasonable - now we have discovered the Swan Inn will certainly be back!
Lovely quaint pub, very polite staff , very accommodating, very welcoming, and even gave me a glass to add to my collection thankyou,
Stopped for lunch on way to Seedfarmhouse. Best onion bargees Ive ever tasted. Friends salmon also very good. Would recommend
Great place, fish fingers baguette is fantastic.
Very good food and staff are excellent and coffee was superb see you soon
Excellent local pub, extremely friendly staff
The garden room is light and welcoming
Great place, staff where friendly and helpful, will definitely vist here again the food was really good as well, set to some nice views.
Food and drinks: Good pub Sunday lunch Service
A nice place to eat with friendly service. Good for families although they could provide some colouring for the children!
Lovely pub, good beers and service. Purity the best!
A lovely location but very limited choice of food on a Sunday as its roast dinner or nothing much else to choose from On a hot Sunday a roast isnt always appropriate Service
The inn has lots of character I very much liked the bar/lounge , we thats 13 of us sat in the conservatory to have Sunday lunch . I was disappointed with my meal as was pretty much all our group . We selected between us the lamb dish beef and pork.sadly our knives struggled to cut through everything on the plate ha and I can only think aswell they had ran out of vegetables.
Drink was fine ,food a bit hit and miss? Curry was bland,as was the chilli con carne, didnt venture any pudding the outdoor seats was good ,bar area small but if arrived early would have a seat dogs welcome, price is average for drink and food.
Very traditional old English pub with a good selection of beers wines and spirits, good car parking and decent sized outside seating.I cannot comment on the food as I didnt eat there but friends have told me that the food is very good.
Excellent venue. Great Pub grub and good menu choices. Good range of beers. Lovely location and a warm welcome.
We booked in advance and was told before coming that they had no highchair. No problem, they were happy for us to bring our own. However, they didnt mention that they have no baby change facilities. To be fair, I didnt ask and did assume they would have one as Ive not been to a pub/reasturant that doesnt. Had we known we wouldnt have booked. Food was ok and the service was friendly enough. I just wonder if bringing young children is discouraged for the atmosphere?
Live nearby and my friend and I go there after shopping for coffee. Lovely caraffe of coffee with a sweet treat to boost
We had a Sunday dinner at 18:00 the starter was good the complimentary olives and bread dips good, the service excellent but the roast beef main course was disappointing dry roast potatoes which were under a hot lamp to long, vegetables not fresh looking and the cheep cut of beef ,rare I liked mine cooked the Yorkshire ok, If this is the best pub in Worcestershire I dread to think how bad the worst is
Food and drinks: see comments above Service
Lovely pub and restaurant, atmosphere was good and so was the food
Best pub, great food
Visited with friends at lunchtime today. I ordered a granary sandwich.....white sandwich arrived, when I asked was told no granary bread. My friend ordered the tuna steak salad which came 10 mins after every one else had their meals. Food was good, but let down by the above.
I stayed here with my campervan. If you eat in the Inn then you can stay overnight free on a pitch. They have plenty of pitches out the back of the Inn. Normally no need to check if they have space. Bus route to Worcester or Malvern nearby. Great food and drink, very friendly and welcoming staff. Food and drinks: Dragons Blood Pie with mash is excellent.
Spent a good evening in The Swan Inn with a wonderful meal, good beer and lovely staff. Thank you for letting us stay in our campervan in your rear car park.
Nice little country pub. Good variety of drinks. Didnt try the food but it looked popular with other customers.
Great beers and meals Friendly service Service
Lovely, friendly pub with a great selection of ales and ciders. The food is fantastic. Room out back for campervans overnight, just ask at the bar and buy some food and drink.
Had an excellent Sunday Lunch here. The nut roast was very tasty with more than enough accompanying vegetables.
Visiting the Malverns for the weekend we called in here for a great evening meal, served by friendly and helpful staff, in comfortable surroundings, all at a reasonable cost. Plus a good selection of real ales and a monster log burner on a chilly night! Highly recommended!
Excellent lunch and friendly service.
Great staff very attentive. Food was brilliant definitely would trying them out. Service : 5/5
Brilliant lunch and fantastic service. Very dog friendly.
A really interesting pub dripping in history. There is a spectacular bench in the bar which must be worth a fortune
Great pub. Good beer.
Nice country pub. Dogs are welcome. Seating outside for summer. Decent size car park. Quick service
Popped in for lunch. Lovely traditional pub with character. Plenty of room, not too busy. Good draught beer (Tribute). Food last order is 2pm. Generous portions. I had the fishfinger baguette - comes with chips and coleslaw. The wife had omelette and salad. Highly recommend.
Large choice on menu ,quick efficient friendly service, welcoming pub.
A proper pub, worth a visit if passing, will be going again.
Beautiful pub, friendly staff and really good food
The dog there gave a warm welcome and the bartender was very friendly
Friendly staff which makes up for the food. Was looking forward to eating here, but a great disappointment, mushroom pate was nothing but watery mush overpowered by so much garlic that it was burning my mouth, the Gammon steak and chips was much better, but can you really get that wrong. Wont be going back.
Lovely meal here with family. Warm and cosy corner table on a cold rainy night. Friendly and efficient service and food portions were generous, fairly priced and well cooked and presented. Good menu choices with imaginative vegetarian choices. Look forward to my next visit.
No roaring fire, very disappointed
Been a few times and food was good, last visit food was poor and very expensive. We were very dissapointed. Bur will give it another go as I like to think it was just a bad day.
We go to the Swan quite regularly. It feels very friendly with great food & service. Something on the menu to suit most people. It could now do with some updating. Decor a little tired but would definitely recommend it.
Great pub, excellent selection of beer, and fabulous food.
Meals were excellent value for money, l couldnt finish mine, so no sweet for me! Choice was excellent, very tasty. Very friendly staff, ty
A most excellent place to drink & eat, with a good selection of beers, friendly helpful staff, and a beer garden with a view of the beautiful Malvern Hills. Recommended.
Excellent customer service and friendly staff. Catered well and provided an excellent afternoon dinner drinks and coffee. Recommended and made the weekend complete.
Free camping. Fantastic food, great staff. Excellent night. Thanks.
Small, cosy bar area, and spacious conservatory which will accommodate large parties. Excellent food and drink. Friendly staff.
Fantastic portion size Very popular! Friendly hostesses
Had a lovely family gathering for Mothers day. Great food, great service, great ambience. We had a table in the bar and were not rushed. So good, going back today.
Excellent situation very friendly staff, also dog friendly which is perfect.
Really lovely country pub. Warm welcome, friendly staff and locals. Deliciously tasty food! Many thanks.
Great pint of Tribute and Robinsons cider, and a very good beef baguette for a spur of moment lunch in the sunshine. Sadly staff under bit too much pressure with unexpected numbers. Well be back soon.
Lovely pub with good selection of seating both inside and in the gardens. Nice beer, great food and dog friendly throughout. Would recommend.
A lovely afternoon spent in the dining room
Lovely pub, beautiful setting
Really beautiful pub
Very dated and uncomfortable
Very friendly and attentive staff, food reasonably priced and a lot of choices. Would certainly recommend the faggots.
Only had time for a quick drink but lovely pub and friendly bar staff. Would definitely go back :)
Stopped for lunch, the beef and caramelised onion hot baguette was very tasty.
Great food, super staff and a lovely atmospheric situation. Food and drinks: As noted above, food (and drink) were excellent on our recent visit. Location : 4/5
food was delicious, staff were really nice as well, thoroughly enjoyed.biggest car park
Lovely friendly, warm atmosphere pub with delicious home cooked food. Polite and friendly staff. Very popular pub.
Stopped here on the way back from a walk round the hills. Lovely spot. Nice garden and great restaurant. Ate in the garden room. Food was exceptional for pub fayre. Special mention for the Stilton and broccoli soup best Ive ever had which Includes cruise ship dishes. Friendly staff well kept beer. Toilets were spotless also. Cant fault it. Well worth a visit
Excellent staff proving me tonic and ice , no gin as I was driving. After considerable debate I decided that I would explore the fish and chips lunch. What a treat, the fish , cod , was superb and the batter again could have been eaten as a starter.
Really good quality food, with a large restraunt part, with a decent size beer garden and parking available. Waiters very friendly and efficient too. Reasonably priced for the quality.
Popped in for something to eat really nice. Great food and pleasant staff good real ales aswell
Had the chicken curry and have to say it was one of the nicest curries Ive had in ages, I would highly reccomend.
We stayed over night in our motorhome, they have parking out the back. We had a fantastic meal at The Swan Inn well recommended.
Visited Thursday lunch time had the ploughmans and was delish. Very busy and service very quick. Dog friendly too.
Lovely pub with great food and excellent service. We were also able to park and stay overnight in our campervan on a small field behind the pub.
Top banana! Arrived a little after last orders on a Saturday night, was fitted in, and soon after, I had one of the best vegan burgers and fries Ive ever tasted. Thanks for fitting me in and keep up the great service. Food and drinks: Plenty of vegan and veg options
The food was excellent The service was absolutely dire Really need someone front of house with a background in food service. Waited absolutely ages for food. Not one single courtesy visit. Feel sorry for the chef doing an excellent job only to be ruined by poor staff. Friendly enough but would struggle to get any stars in Macdonalds
Lovely atmosphere and great food! Food and drinks: Generous portion sizes and delicious food Service : 5/5 |
Nice pint of Guinness friendly staff. Close to our camp site.
Nice food , good beer!
Great find, lovely, friend dog loving pub.
Stayed as a free camper stop, so decided to eat as well. The choices we had were exceptional. Stuffed Mediterranean Chicken with chorizo mash. Perfect balance of flavours, my wife had Sea Bass with cajun roast vegetables. A lovely desert to follow. Dont know how you make it pay. Thanks for a great meal. Service
The Dragons Blood Pie is excellent.
Excellent food served by attentive and enthusiastic waitress. Thanks very much.
Had Sunday lunch with our son and daughter in law. Recently moved from Cumbria....home. truly brilliant lunch. Love the atmosphere. Staff very helpful and amiable. Only a short walk from our house. Walkability: Not from our new home Food and drinks: Excellent Sunday lunch
Let us start with a positive, the food was really nice. Now the negative, how can your staff not know what beers you have on tap, leaving the customers to take them themselves to the bar to ask for a pen and paper so they can organise their own drinks order. Will not be taking any business customers or family there again. Seriously poor service!! The dining area is also very tired and unkept.
Family Sunday lunch Food and drinks: Went for a Sunday roast.. disappointing.. one slice of pork, slice of stuffing, 2 small roast potatoes and poor selection of vegetables. Sweet was nice but small. Poor value for money. Service good and friendly.
Beautiful pub, really friendly atmosphere, staff courteous and very attentive. I cant rate the food highly enough, absolutely amazing quality, plenty of selection including homemade specials and the desserts are to die for.
Food and drinks: We ate here twice as a family while holidaying in the Malvern hills area. Very friendly pub, with lots of space to eat outside on a lovely summers evening like we did. Its also dog friendly which was perfect for our two dachunds The food was lovely, with nice size portions.
Dragon Blood Pie excellent
Great lunch here today. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Very reasonably priced food and decent amount. Negative : my friends salad with the goat cheese tart was a bit uninspiring, tart excellent. Positive : bread and butter pudding was spectacular.
Lovely old fashioned pub. Had a very good roast dinner in the bar. Very dog friendly - staff made a fuss of my dog, even bringing him a treat. And the music was a great choice, and not too loud, so you could talk. Really enjoyed it.
Nice place and nice beer cheers
We like it here very much. The Devils Blood Pie is incredible, pastry so fine and meat galore, it is a treat. (Look after that chef) We stay over at the rear of the pub in our motorhome and yes, it is free, but a little timp wouldnt go amiss!
Pub on the side of the road, you have to go past it to find the parking lots. A flat grassy field to accommodate campers and motorhomes. Lots of space, a very warm welcome. Ideal parking for one night.
Great food and selection of local ciders. The staff are great and attentive. The outside of the resturant could do with a clean up, but inside it is very nice and authentic.
Nice pint and decent food
Had dinner on two evenings, the standard of food is excellent. Lovely garden areas to enjoy the warm weather and Local beers and ciders. I didnt stay overnight.
Extremely friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and delicious food.
A great find.
What a wonderful bunch at The Swan! Met my parents for Sunday lunch. Food was fantastic! Lovely staff. Highly recommended. Thank you
Really lovely food, quick service. We shall be back
Had a lovely local pint of IPA in their beer garden. Delightful experience. Noteworthy details: The garden is beautiful
Always brilliant since 2009 and still is. Great food and great beer/cider.
Small but nice little pub. We were a bit late for food so had a drink service was good although it was not busy. The pub had mugs from all era hanging on the ceilings which made for interesting talking point. Overall cosy place.
Didnt stay but had a lovely dinner there. The food was tasty and the service was nice.
Nice place do a good pint of Robinsons
Food and drinks: We booked a table for four for an evening meal. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We had theatre tickets booked so had to be served promptly. The staff were fabulous. Quick service but not rushed. Would highly recommend and would definitely return when visiting the area in the future. Service
Food was amazing. Really good choice and excellent quality.
Stopped here randomly after a day mountain biking on the Malvern Hills. Great old fashioned British pub, friendly staff, very tasty and well priced food. Going back to take my parents soon. Recommended.
Just there for a meal only. Sadly it was very disappointing and I would not recommend based on our experience. Food and drinks: The pub is very traditional and the furnishings are a little tired. We chose it because it was dog friendly and had reasonable/good reviews. But sadly the food we both ordered - the special (braised beef with mushrooms and brandy gravy and bubble and squeak) -was not good at all. The dish was a good sized portion with a generous plate of veg each but sadly the beef was not as described - it was supposed to be slow braised but was quite tough and not falling apart as expected. No taste of brandy at all, quite peppery and too much salt in the gravy . But the worst part was the fat - which had not rendered down - and so had to try to cut the meat off the fat. Very offputting and was left with c40% fat on my plate at the end. The bubble and squeak was quite underwhelming and tasteless . Very disappointing- I mentioned this but the waitress just said she d tell the chef and came back with the card machine for payment. We are not local so won t be returning but based on this meal, I would not recommend at all.
Excellent food service and ambience . We will be visiting again
In the carpark with campervan had a real good meal
First time visit to this pub. Reasonable Sunday lunch plenty of veg. Good service varied menu. All pudding home made and ice cream selection incredible. Plenty of parking dog friendly
Proper old pub with dogs, wood fires and friendly owners and locals.
Nice pub, very quiet on my visit. Beer [Tribute ) was good . Rooms
Excellent venue, friendly staff and great food.
Really delicious food during lunch and great service!
Best Steak Pie

Friendly service, great atmosphere and beer choice, lovely building, large carpark.

Great lunch in a beautiful location. Highly recommended.
We had a fabulous dinner at The Swa n, there were four of us, each chose different meals all superb. The staff of the bar and the dining room were welcoming, friendly and very engaging. Thank you for a lovely experience t5experience.
Relaxed atmosphere & the steak was great
A little hidden gem. This has a very peculiar interior but is nice and cosy. Food is yet again absolutely delicious and the staff were very helpful. I had the fish cake to start and the Dragon blood pie. Will be returning here again soon.
Absolutely great food, really good value for money & presentation of food was excellent.
Very friendly staff, excellent food not the usual pub grub the Swan has taken it up a notch. Free motorhome parking in the back field. Fantastic we will be back.
Great vegan options
Very friendly staff, great beers and I had a lovely fish and chips.... More like a whale!! Coffee had a snip of Tiffin with it which was a great touch as I could not have managed a pudding!
We had a couple of beers inside as, although the outdoor seating was pleasant, thank goodness for the cool interior on one of the hottest days of the year. We also had dinner and the food was very good. Great location just outside Malvern.
Good atmosphere. Good beer
Fantastic place to eat great food and staff very friendly
Lovely little pub, meals looked amazing, but was suppose to have a meal but due to my mom having a fall didnt get round to it.
Excellent little find , dropped in on long journey home , staff very welcoming and food excellent, We will be going back.
Stayed for two nights in our Campervan in the field behind the Pub. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and we enjoyed a superb meal in the restaurant. A smashing stay, well be back.
Nice pub great atmosphere
Lovely place, excellent food and friendly service
Nice place lovely surroundings extensive menu
Last time I was in this great friendly pub was 50years ago and nothing changed love it!
Excellent food, highly recommended.
Traditional English pub with a fantastic beer selection and great food. Well worth a visit.
Great pub with an ever changing selection of real ales. A proper pub.
Very nice food and very good customer service very nice waiter steak was amazing
Superb meal , 3 courses and lovely staff , thoroughly enjoying evening , cant recommend them highly enough 5* .
This little pub is a gem. We camp near by once or twice a year and the food is fantastic as are the staff who work here. Nothing is too much trouble for them, a right friendly bunch. The ale is fantastic and we just love to visit here when we camping, its a must for anyone who likes good food and ale.
Brilliant to take your dogs to.
Nice and friendly
Good food & country location
Food good, staff friendly. My only complaint was that I asked about a childs menu for my 11 year old grandson. I was told that on a Sunday there is no child menus but they could do a smaller portion. I said great and we would both like the pork then. When the bill arrived I was charged full price. Kids being kids that meant over £13 just for the 3 roaster,1 Yorkshire pud and 2 slices of pork. I asked why and they say that I did not make it clear I wanted a childs portion. He was given a small scoop of ice cream to make up for it. Definitely not dining there again. But if they want my custom for beer I would take advantage of the free overnight parking for a few pints.
Good meal friendly atmosphere
They must have a good chef there. Friendly. Good service
Stopped off for Sunday lunch, fab food really friendly service.
Nice pub but the food was very low standard. Service whilst polite was somewhat patchy. Probably a nice place to go for a beer in the garden.
Lovely country pub just outside Malvern. Friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our time there.
On a recent visit to Malvern to try out my camping setup at a site just down the road, I phoned the Swan Inn at approximately 3.00 pm on Sunday to ask if I needed to book for an EVENING meal? Id travelled approximately 90 miles so was looking forward to a nice relaxing meal. The reply was no, just turn up. Weve plenty of tables. Great, or I thought. So when I arrived at about 5.00 pm and asked If I should sit anywhere for something to eat, I was more than a little disappointed to hear that the kitchen was now closed! So apparently the evening ends at 4.45pm?
Great atmosphere. Great food.
Excellent food but confused service. Got some orders wrong but quickly corrected them.
Mediocre food and very slow service
Nice family lunch. Tables and chairs are getting a little bit creaky
Traditional Pub Full Of Charm And Character
Always a pleasant experience for food and hospitality.
Great meal, pleasant staff! Highly recommended!
Love it. Nice edge of town pub. Lovely team, had lunch today and several vegan options and a vgn friendly ale (Purity). Waitress for our lunch was super lovely
Friendly atmosphere
Lovely bar area food below standard for price
Had a meal yesterday, food was delicious, staff were really nice as well, thoroughly enjoyed.
Actually I wouldnt give it 1 star,, if you like your soup with a burger bun this is the place for you,,,, the young staff were very friendly though
Lovely pub with great beer and really good food. The vegetarian options were much better than the usual choices you see. Lots of parking. Will be revisiting again!
Love this place and great for vegans. Im not but friends are so we can all enjoy
Superb food
Friendly staff good food little bit a shame that half the wines were not available and too pricey
None a little star. Poor.
Drinks and a festive dinner with a group of friends. A very enjoyable evening. Log fire in the bar and loads of character.
