Relaxed Tapas Bar for relaxed people. Come and join the laid back atmosphere of Bar Limón. Come drink, eat, chat, laugh drink and eat some more. A place to while away an hour or two and just enjoy, unwind and breathe. For people who don’t take life too seriously and embrace the Mediterranean vibes. We have art, music a beautiful garden and most of all a warm welcome.
Great tapas in centre of Malvern. One of the best tapas I've been to. Dog friendly too.
Lovely restaurant. Was very grateful for you to squeeze us in on Friday evening. We will definitely be coming back next time we're in Malvern. Have already been recommending here to others!
Loved it. Don’t know why it’s taken us so long to go there. Food was beautifully cooked, absolutely delicious plus good varied vegetarian dishes. Pre/theatre menu is value too. Atmosphere; we loved the music, decor and artwork supporting local artists on display. Great to see an independent restaurant so busy. We shall we returning many more times for sure.
First time visiting on a busy Thursday evening. We had an issue with seating when we arrived as there was no way we could have fitted into the seats they wanted us to due to the guitarist and other diners so it was disappointing we were then seated basically in the corridor. Despite this, we ordered a variety of tapas dishes and we enjoyed them all. The service was great and seemed to be a good atmosphere. We would eat here again when we are next in the area.
Such a good place, all the staff are friendly and swift. A huge amount of Gluten free, vegetarian, vegan options.y family (which includes a picky one) loved everything. Please open a branch in Fleet, Hampshire.
A lovely authentic tapas bar with wonderful 1920s theming. The food was great tapas with a wonderful selection. Empanadas are a must have. We had a wonderful evening. Staff were always helpful and polite. Can’t wait to visit again.
Delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere! We tried a range of things, all of which were great. When we visited there were a few dishes they couldn't offer that day, but the menu was so full of great options this didn't hold us back. I'd definitely recommend sharing so you can try as many different things as possible!
My partner and I booked a table for a pre-theatre visit to Malvern. We were greeted warmly on arrival and sat at a table. We were asked if we were going to the theatre, just so the staff could keep an eye on the time. Wonderful service with very pleasant staff. The restaurant itself is clean and well-organized. The starter arrived quickly which were very tasty tortilla chips, with probably the best guacamole I have ever tasted. Many tapas plates followed which were all lovely. All served piping hot and all done just in time to walk across the road to see our film. Perfect. Thanks to all at Bar Limon.
Great Tapas and wonderful service Dietary restrictions: Great for Gluten Free Food : 5/5 |
Fabulous cuisine, thanks to chef Madame Patterson-Tamayo.
Another wonderful evening at our favourite restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by Jazz and Lucy the owner, who never fail to make us comfortable and relaxed. As well as the usual excellent tapas offerings, this time there was a festive menu which we also chose from. The fried aubergines with cranberry sauce and the pigs blankets were succulent and mouth-watering, thanks to the excellent chef Lee. Thank you all for ensuring that we enjoyed every minute of our experience.
Brilliant. Great service. Amazing food. Highly recommend.
Disappointing visit to Bar Limon. Have been many times and have always been happy with the food and service. Food portions have got smaller, but prices have gone up. Halloumi dish was just 2 thin slices of halloumi with one tomato cut in half placed on top. It used to be around 4 good slices of Halloumi served with sliced tomatoes and basil. No basil on the dish last night, and the spinach dishes had been removed from the menu. The charge for the Halloumi dish was £7.00. Had to wait ages for one Halloumi dish and for a bowl of frites that had to be chased twice with the waiting staff. Did feed back to¡ the waiting staff at the time but didnt get an explanation for the smaller portions sizes and the higher prices. It was such a shame and so disappointing as it was a great place to eat. Dietary restrictions: Not any gluten free options Kid-friendliness: Children are welcomed.
Cant fault what we had to eat and there was a real vibe about the place; our party of four all had a lovely evening. However, we all felt the portion sizes were small for what was charged. Personally I was still hungry even after sharing 12 dishes plus the bread option. Would I go again, yes because what we had was lovely just not very fullsome.
First visit for me, celebrating my special birthday!!! Brilliant service, wonderful food and a great time had by all!!! Will definitely be coming back ...
Way too much parsley on everything. Not sure why? Never had food in Spain with this much parsley. I actually think if I eat parsley again I will spontaneously combust.
Fabulous food, really friendly service and great atmosphere. Only minor add-on, service can be a little slow when its really busy - it is however, worth the wait
What a diamond of a place! Absolutely love the food, wine and latte. We will definitely be back
To find out what a SANGRIA-LA tastes like cost me £9 a glass; a bit high, but then I dont know, maybe this is the usual price?
Dishes we had tasted similar, most over seasoned with paprika, great if you wanted goulash. Service was friendly but not attentive.Sardines were good.
Really poor service/staff.
Delicious, authentic Spanish food! Served with charm. We were lucky to live in Spain for years, this food won t disappoint Recommended dishes Tapas
Absolutely fabulous! Owner was particularly welcoming. The artichoke ponchos were scrumptious and would highly recommend the cod croquettes
Back yet again, and enjoyed it very much. Superb! Lovely authentic food, great service, terrific atmosphere, and very good value. Just wish you opened more lunch times.
Great meal with good vegetarian options
Visited last Saturday, everything was absolutely perfect. The food was incredible, our waitress was so lovely and accommodating. We will definitely be coming back!
Amazing service. Really conscientious and friendly waiters. Only a four star as we really enjoyed our tapas but felt there could have been slightly more served for the price. The atmosphere was really nice. Would definitely come here again. Really central location, too
Happened upon here when the place we were going to was closed. Even though we hadnt booked, and it was heaving, they seated us....even moving us to a more comfortable booth as the server could see I was in pain with my back. Small plate tapas choice was just enough, good drinks and super lovely atmosphere. Food came out fast, hot and delicious. Had a chat with the owner in my rubbish Spanish (which he was very patient with!) And left feeling like a regular! Price was so reasonable too! Muy bien
Paella heaven. Traditional Sunday fayre here. Yum.
Keep returning so that says it all
A very popular tapas restaurant, especially for Malvern Theatres goers. So plan in time. Food is excellent. I would add a bread basket to ones tapas order, just to mop up the delicious sauces.
I recently had a chance to return to this delightful Tapas Bar. I was not disappointed. The same welcoming, friendly staff. Good quality food with fresh ingredients. Wonderful atmosphere and decor. It now has the added bonus of Al Fresco dining, together with a cocktail bar in the pretty courtyard garden. I am looking forward to my next visit. Thank you Bar Limon for a memorable evening. Patricia
Cheap food. Spanish cuisine. Absolutely lovely.
Wonderful afternoon my little family and I we had at Bar Limón. The young girl that served us she was absolutely a star! All staff very friendly including the bartender. I will definitely come back as all in general it made me feel I was back home. Much love to the staff if you guys read this. Barbara
Gorgeous place, really lovely interesting food. Nachos were very flavourful, different, homemade, fresh. Associated dips really fresh and zingy. Chilli good but I could have done with more beans and no couscous! Good vegetarian and vegan options, and a variety of alcohol-free drinks on the menu. Vegetarian options: Fresh ingredients, healthy.
Lovely Tapas restaurant.. highly recommend
Lovely, homely tapas bar, shame we dont live closer! But we will be back for sure
Absolutely this place. Such wonderful people, relaxed friendly atmosphere, and Im still eating huevos rancheros and patata bravas after 2 years! If you havent tried the cocktails then make sure you do! Dietary restrictions: Very safe for Coeliacs
Great place to eat quick and helpful service
Great food, great service, nice atmosphere. Genuine Spanish tapas
Poor slow service even though it wasnt busy, basic menu, and dont serve seafood as the chef is allergic. If you are a seafood lover dont bother.
The food was fine but a bit unusual. Xmas meal divided into tapas plates, hmm not sure on that one, but staff were attentive and atmosphere jolly!
Good food at very reasonable prices, friendly and attentive service plus an excellent atmosphere made for a very pleasant evening indeed. I shall certainly be back again! Bar Limon is just what Malvern needed and is a great addition to the range of cafés and restaurants on offer, bringing a welcome taste of the Mediterranean.
Watery food, asked 3 times for tap water that never came. Had to ask for cutlery. One drink in an hour that we were there. Food was tasty but came out at different times so had to eat what was there rather than altogether. Ok for a snack but not for dinner. Service was none existence, felt like too many people for the amount of staff severing
Overall was a bit disappointing food wasnt great, service was very slow waited over 30mins to get drinks ordered. Then another 20mins to come and when did come was wrong. Most the food was nice but potato bravas wasnt great potatoes werent crispy. Definitely need more staff or a better system.
Lovely staff, pet friendly and familly atmosphere. Definetelly going back.
Very friendly staff. Great food. Best of spanish cusine. One of my favourite places for familly dinner
What a great little restaurant! Popped in on a hop and a catch, we will DEFINITELY come back if in the area. Great service, delicious food, and good value for money. Definitely recommend!
Fantastic restaurant with a great atmosphere - the best in Malvern. A wonderful team including Richard and Chloe who ran the bar extremely well. Superb food and an excellent wine list. We had a fabulous time and will definitely be coming back.
Really brilliant food, service and atmosphere! A massive thank you to Lucy and her fabulous team, including Richard and Chloe, for making my party so special and my guests so welcome - we cant wait to come back and do it all again!
Bar Limon is the perfect pre-theater dining place. Just minutes walk from Malvern theater and cinema, the Spanish Tapas is superb. Home cooked, tasty, great buzz. Its has real holiday vibe. We love it and take all our friends. Average food bill £15 to £20 includes puds and coffee
We stayed in Malvern and walked past earlier in the day and decided that s where we wanted to eat and it didn t disappoint, the food was absolutely delicious and the staff were amazing! It was my husband s birthday and they were so lovely. We hope to come back very soon
Had the best Tapas I ve had for a good while here last night The atmosphere of Bar Limon is lively, with genuine staff who obviously love their job. Authentic, beautifully decorated Spanish vibe food and drinks both were divine. Will be returning to this lovely restaurant
Bar Limon is an absolute pleasure. Authentic, warm and inviting tapas bar. Loved the decor. Absolutely delicious food and buzzing atmosphere. The team are welcoming - my friend and I forgot our glasses - so we asked the waitress to select for us. Everything was gorgeous. Really well worth a trip to Malvern to experience this gem. Planning a return trip. Thank you.
Incredible food, incredible atmosphere and incredible service! Loved it, will definitely go again!
Me and my partner went for tapas and wine on Friday evening and I can honestly say it was the best tapas I have ever had Every dish was so tasty and fresh and the staff were wonderful! I can t wait to go back again!
Lovely food, took my mother to Malvern Theatre and we came to Bar Limon pre-theatre. Really friendly and relaxed environment would definitely recommend!
Just moved to Malvern. Made totally welcome and had the best Tapas, been three times now and consistent as well. Amazing food, great service and special nights also. Cant ask for more.
Beautiful restaurant with friendly staff. Service is relaxed the tapas are amazing. Very good value with a lovely ambience. I have enjoyed every dish lve ordered - the honeyed artichokes are incredible. Im glad to have such an amazing venue within walking distance.
Ive been in a few times since Bar Limon came to Malvern and I absolutely LOVE it! The food is always fresh and flavoursome and the atmosphere is great. The nachos are especially good, different to others Ive had elsewhere, so crispy! I also love the Mediterranean style of eating where you can dip in and out of dishes and not have everything crowding the table at once. Keep doing what youre doing!
Great addition to Malvern nightlife. Had lovely food in friendly surroundings. Accidentally put an extra £20 when paying without realising, but the staff pointed it out straight away which is highly commendable.
Really tasty fresh food. Great gluten free selection. Fast and friendly service
Very reasonably priced. Great service. The food was very good. Faultless! Vegetarian options: Spoilt for choice. Food : 5/5 |
Finally made it to Bar Limon after too long. On a Wednesday night, it was busy, the staff friendly and the service good. They are comfortable tapas one or two at a time and not as a meal. The restaurant has a nice feel without too many tables, which provides the space for events etc. We had two types of croquettes and potato bravas which were good as were the dips. The coupe of meat tapas we had were fair. Overall very fair value and a good experience, we definitely return
Quite pricey for the small potion sizes and one dish was quite cold. Tasty meals, cod was particularly good.
Already posted.
Nice enough place to grab a bite. The menu is a little limited but what is on there is fine. A little expensive for what you get. The staff were friendly enough. The food was good and they offer alcohol as well, including cocktails. It was an okay experience even if the place lacked atmosphere. I visited on a Saturday for late lunch. The menu has some context behind the dishes which was interesting to read.
So glad we found this place on a girl s afternoon out! Friendly and accommodating staff. Lovely little garden area to enjoy the sunshine and a drink. We shared several tapas dishes, all of which were incredible. Such amazing tasty flavours and great variety of both food and drink. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again.
We booked out the entire venue and hosted our evening wedding reception here and it was amazing!! Lucy planned everything for us and it all went really well, food was great as always and the staff were brilliant. Lucy also had a Tapasoke (karaoke) set up for us (shout out to Eduardo the DJ!), which all the guests loved. Would definitely recommend Bar Limon for parties and events!!
Lovely tapas, been here a number of times never disappoints
Delicious food and friendly helpful staff . Great atmosphere and it all made for a relaxing evening with great food and drink
Absolutely love Bar Limon! An amazing addition to Great Malvern The staff are friendly, the cocktails are amazing and the food is superb What I really love is that there is no pressure to leave after you ve eaten. Most restaurants are such a quick experience of eat and go. Whereas here, you can graze on the yummy dishes, enjoy your mojito and feel the buzz of the restaurant with friends. Love it!!
We had a wonderful private party in Bar Limon, to celebrate our big birthdays. It was an amazing atmosphere, brilliant food, service, welcome drinks and would definitely recommend it. Everyone had the best time. Thankyou Lucy for organising, Beki for front of house. Loved it. Dietary restrictions: The chef was happy to do food for the few individuals with strict requirements
Wonderful Tapas restaurant. I recently had the pleasure of dining there with my wife and her friend and it was a truly fantastic experience. The food at Bar Limon was absolutely delicious. The tapas dishes were creative, flavourful and cooked to perfection. I particularly enjoyed the homemade nachos and guacamole. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients and the presentation was impeccable. I was very impressed with the wide variety of vegan options available and the wife tells me that their cocktails were also very tasty. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food on offer, making it great value for money. The portion sizes were also very generous, ensuring that we all left feeling satisfied and content. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to ensure that we had a great evening. Out Waiters were attentive, knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was warm, cozy and inviting, which only added to the overall experience. Overall, I would highly recommend Bar Limon to anyone looking for a fantastic tapas restaurant in Great Malvern, or surrounding area. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly and attentive. Its the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing evening with friends and family. I cant wait to return. Vegetarian options: Loads of Vegie, Vegan and Gluten Free option on the menu. Kid-friendliness: Menus offered to make appropriate changes for children, removing spicy food from various options.
Mid week tapas and red wine, pleasant atmosphere and enjoyed the food. Nice buzz in the place and the staff hit the right level. Enjoyed it.
OMG love this place, great tapas, great service, great food. We will be back.....gotta book thou!
Great food, including vegetarian, good selection of drinks and most importantly great staff. We had a really good experience tonight, would recommend to anyone.
Awesome find on our family day out to Malvern. Quality food and excellent service. Highly recommended that you visit.
Really pleasant outside space, delicious food and cool drinks, sat in the sunshine . Who needs to go abroad
Great place for families
Lovely food, fabulous sangria, great service . Rain tried to stop play, but that didn t deter us, we will be back!
I think it was just a bad day to go but they were out of everything and we had to keep going to the bar to order. The food was nice but not worth the price really. The staff were very friendly but for the price of the restaurant I would expect full table service or at least a list of what they are out of before we try to order.
Fancied tapas for dinner after a late afternoon tea, so we could grab some small portions. The staff were very winning and the food was largely excellent. Presently surprised to find decent tapas in Malvern! Would definitely recommend. Kid-friendliness: They had high chairs available if required
Nice venue for a summer lunch or dinner. Service was perfectly adequate but ultimately let down by a poor attempt at tapas. Pan con tomate and patatas bravas should be impossible to mess up but sadly this was the case. Salad was drowned in quite sharp dressing, salad contents did not appear fresh. Jamon croquetas were 1% jamon and 99% croqueta. Would avoid in future.
I took my other half out for a birthday meal this afternoon, we very much enjoyed it! We had a mixture of dishes, and enjoyed every one of them. All very tasty and fresh, and the restaraunt had a great atmosphere As we left, a phone was forgotten, and they remembered that we said we were going to the bar next door for a drink. They came in to gove it back, which was very welcome! We would happily return, and will recommend it.
We had a very enjoyable evening at Bar Limon! The food is delicious (definitely order the cod) and its such a warm and friendly place. We went on a Thursday night when they had a live guitarist which was so nice and gave everything the right vibes. Would definitely be back when Im next in Malvern :)
Came in after a quick dash up the hills for an 8pm dinner. The setting is gorgeous and the garden is lovely (and was empty on a summer evening!) The food was ok if not a little unbalanced - decent pan con tomate and patatas bravas, but the ham croquetas (a classic!) were a real let down - Stodgy, over fried, and almost inedible. Close to being an excellent addition to the high street!
Tasty tapas and live music from Corys Angels. Whats not to love? Vegetarian options: Lots of options for veggies! Food : 5/5 |
Enjoyed tapas meal with friends in lively but not noisy restaurant. Good choice of dishes at reasonable prices.
Amazing tapas
Food was amazing! One of the best tapas bars ive visited in a long time, every dish was quality, the service was great definitely recommend
Me and my mum were visiting Malvern and thought this place looked really nice from the outside. Unfortunately, the food was absolutely shocking. The worst place we have ever eaten. Firstly, the cod was not available, so instead my mum ordered lamb tagine and myself the meatballs in tomato sauce and a bread basket. The food came out as soon as we sat down after ordering at the bar (literally 2 minutes), before the drinks, meaning it was obviously not cooked from fresh. The lamb tagine was inedible, the meatballs were luke warm in a very watery sauce, and the bread basket that was pictured with an assortment of bread was just baguette slices. We basically paid £38 for two cokes and some bread. Would not recommend unfortunately and i m not one to usually complain. Update: We returned for our refund which we were grateful for and the owner was completely unpleasant and rude and made us feel bad despite her offering the refund (we never actually asked for it). I am not a mean person and I have the right to review an awful experience. The rest of the staff were really nice though.
Visited here recently and must say we were very disappointed. The food was very limited in choice and what we did have was bland and very expensive. The sevice was poor and we felt rushed. The staff were friendly enough but seemed inexperienced. The waitress dropped a fork on my husbands shirt which left food on him and she did not even offer to help clean it off. Will definitely not go back.
Cant recommend this restaurant enough. The staff are attentive, friendly and extremely helpful, they just couldnt do enough. The food and setting is really authentic. There is a good selection of food choices, all of which is well cooked and displayed. All this added to a good atmosphere really does make you feel that there is a little bit of Spain in Malvern (oh and the Barbie Cocktail was amazing )
Wonderful meal in the garden
Great karaoke
Ive been in for dinner a few times in the last year or so and the service is always great, and the food excellent.
Excellent little tapas bar and very reasonably priced the food was top drawer defo be going back again ,
Love this place!
Wonderful staff, you feel welcome from the beginning even with a dog. The food was very delicious and it was amazing how fast it was prepared. Lovely atmosphere and nice drinks. Definitely will come back again visiting Malvern Hills.
Saturday evening. Food is very good, service friendly, quite busy but still some empty tables. However we: - ordered 6 dishes, only 5 came - were not asked about a second round of drinks - sat looking at empty dishes for the best part of half an hour - abandoned hope of dessert before struggling to get and pay the bill. Mixed results.
We took a party of 14 to Bar Limon for a birthday celebration last Saturday evening. From the first enquiry to paying the bill at the end of the evening, Lucy and the team were amazing. The food was great and the service was outstanding. I would wholeheartedly recommend Bar Limon for its food and atmosphere but would advise booking ahead as the restaurant was busy all evening. Already planning a return visit!
Pre theatre visit on a Thursday night. Lovely vibe with guitarist and drummer at 7pm. The chorizo and cider was the standout dish. Recommended.
Can t recommend highly enough. Long lunch with friends on a Saturday. Super service and the food was delicious, the chorizo in cider is tapas genius.
Packed in like Sardines very tight for space. Waiting staff inattentive never once asked was food okay. Really amateur had to pass dishes over as waiting staff couldnt get round our table had to ask and try attract attention for everything from drinks to ordering food. They were busy. However, they seemed to have plenty of time to chat with each other. Waiting staff can add to experience, sadly, not this one. We thought it was very overpriced. Tapas salad was tasteless cous cousin was dreadful. Dishes quite watery, especially chicken and mushrooms. Best bit was sauces and bread to start. Churos claggy Really disappointing We love supporting local independent places we will not be returning any time soon.
We walked in on what was obviously going to be a busy night and were accommodated, which we were grateful for. Service was pleasant and efficient but we were disappointed with the food, which was generally lacking in the vibrant fresh flavours we associate with good tapas. All rather bland, tepid and watery unfortunately, and needlessly so because the base ingredients are good quality.
Have been meaning to try out Bar Limon for a while so popped in with a friend last night. The service was excellent, friendly and the food was served promptly and in a way not to overwhelm our table! I would say that the food may be a tad overpriced for the size of the portions. However, I imagine most places have needed to up their prices in order to survive the current climate, so was happy to support a local independent restaurant. The atmosphere was really relaxed, with some great, appropriate music choices. Despite it being a quiet Wednesday evening, the friendly staff kindly allowed my friend and I to carry on chatting until we realised we were the only ones left! I had a lovely evening, and would certainly pop by again
Dietary restrictions: Good for Gluten free Food
Lovely food and service was quick and attentive
Great service, friendly atmosphere, lovely food - will definitely come back!
A great lovely Spanish place. Warm and relax atmosphere, Offering very good Tapas. Great value for money. Some lovely drinks. The mojito and Caipirinha are one of the best around! Great evening and sometimes live music!
Im sorry to leave a bad review but two of us came in (unbooked) on Saturday and Im afraid it was probably one of the worst dining experiences in my life. Place was at best 2/3 full so we expected a slight wait. We ordered 4 dishes. One came after about 15 minutes, the second two half an hour later and the fourth didnt come until we asked for it. The young staff were very apologetic but it was just a mess as far as customer service goes. Food was ok but we were fed up by then and left. I reallly really wanted this place to be great but 1* at best Im afraid.
Boisterous and fun atmosphere; very unique locally, reasonable, tasty food at an affordable cost.
We loved the fresh food, choice (gluten free great) the friendly service, decor and atmosphere. Also good value. Ive been at lunchtime and evening and both good. Would definitely recommend
Bar Limon provided an excellent St Patricks day menu which was both tasty and satisfying. I loved the Zelensky cocktail mixed in honour of Ukraine. This was my third visit and the atmosphere and ambience in this bar was warm and welcoming as usual. The host and staff made the evening one to savour. Cant wait to visit again.
Went for dinner and then 2 1/2 hours later went back for dessert. Great food, AMAZING staff and the best MOJITA in Malvern especially with the Cuban rum. The specials board is superbly priced. Only criticism was the churros were over done (we took them as a takeout). Other wise would of asked for replacement.
Nice Authentic Tapas bar. Chorizo in cider was beautiful. Croqeutas were great too. Very good value, nice decor and music. Relaxing feel to the place and prices were not bad at all! I would disregard the entitled Tories that have reviewed this place expecting a private server and silver platter despite not making a booking..
Lovely tapas, good value, nice staff, good coffee and dog friendly.
We visited on Saturday and loved it. The food was amazing. The staff were really friendly and very welcoming. We will certainly go again when we are in Malvern. I would recommend this great little place to everyone.
Very disappointed, ordered the lamb skewers along with other tapas. Waitress brought some kind of meat and chickpea stew. I explained that we didnt order it and she replied, oh I forgot to tell you theyve changed whats on the menu, they this instead of the skewers, its nice we were taken aback, but then explained to another waitress and she dealt well with the problem, and took it off our bill. That aside, the tapas were very poor, patatas bravas soaked in not spicy sauce, nothing brave about them. The croquetas were dry, tasteless and overcooked/nearly burnt/rock hard., Pan con tomat was wierd. Seems they use the same tomato sauce for everything. The choice of tapas too, was quite limited. Wont be going again.
Incredible service and atmosphere. Really relaxed, great cocktails and drinks. Our waitress (tall lady with glasses) was really lovely. The food is as good as being in Spain. The meatballs and the ham croquettes were our favourites. Loved this gem in Malvern.
Great atmosphere, lovely Staff and decor, very average food.
Really enjoyed our visit. Squeezed us in at the bar at last minute despite being really busy, which was very kind. Great cocktails and food, and friendly staff. Set us up for a v enjoyable evening at the theatre. Will come again.
Great selection of tapas, and very friendly and welcoming staff make for a brilliant atmosphere.
We had booked a week before with specific guidance on this being a special 10th anniversary and asked for a window seat. The booking was accepted 2 days later. We arrived 5 mins before schedule and given the most unromantic seat in front of the front door. We will not be returning again as this was the weekend of the Malvern RHS Spring festival and ruined our anniversary weekend! VERY LET DOWN AND AS RETURNING LOCAL CUSTOMERS WILL NOT GO BACK AGAIN! Would gave given no stars given the option! DISGRACEFUL EVEN WHEN WE ASKED FOR A SEAT AT THE BACK FOR PRIVACY WHICH WAS NOT OCCUPIED THIS REQUEST WAS DECLINED BY THE JUNIOR TEAM. I am shocked although perhaps not surprised by the owners trite and sarcastic comments. I actually have high blood pressure and your poor reaction to the the review evidences your lack of concern for your customers. You should think before making fun of your customers. I hope you never have such a medical condition . As for returning it will as they say be a cold day in hell.
Shame about this place where you can tell the owner is passionate about spanish culture. Need staff shaking up, strong management and the food is below standards
This place is rustic, authentic, and home cooked food with a family atmosphere. Its is unpretentious and fun. If you want to chill out, chat, eat, drink you will love it. If you want lots of fuss and attention and a formal restaurant service with order and predictability it wont be for you. #justsaying
Superb food, atmosphere and service from the guys at Bar Limon. Couldnt have been made to feel more welcome.
First time visiting the area and Bar Limon. Had a fantastic evening, made to feel so welcome from the very first moment and there is a great atmosphere. Superb food which was delicious with lots of choice, and great value. The sangria was excellent. We would definitely recommend. Fantastic restaurant well worth a visit
When you arrive it s not clear where you have to go to speak to staff and get seated, there s no coordination of front of house. We were ignored by who appeared to be the manager which was disappointing. Once seated it took us 45 mins to get served (we had to fight for their attention), after this the longer wait ensued; thinking that the bread and dips we ordered might come a bit before the rest. Food gradually started to appear at the table, however, the person delivering it wasn t sure what the food was, when questioned she did some jazz hands and said tapas . The food was very substandard, all the sauces were very watery and didn t taste of much, which was very disappointing. Overall this was a very disappointing visit, we had been looking forward to going for ages. Unless they get a change of chef we won t be going back. We tried to tip the waitress, however we were told that tips are shared amongst all staff (which is a shame because the waitress staff were trying hard). Terribly disappointing visit and as recompense for our meal .we were offered a shot
Unreal.
Amazing place! Beautiful locations. Drinks and good incredible and the staff were just awesome. Will totally return!
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available
Amazing food, quick service. What more can you ask for!
Absolutely loved the food, proper fresh likes it s homemade in the kitchen the same day Will definitely be coming back again to try more dishes Vegetarian options: Loved all the veggie options
Lovely brunch.
Love this restaurant brilliant food good ambiance and lovely staff, cant fault it.
Excellent evening. Attentive staff, the manager served us. They were all hard workers, so good service. Great food, good selection. Good atmosphere on a Saturday night.
We have just had a fantastic meal at this tapas bar. From start to finish we could not fault the service or the food. Finished off with good coffee and chirros. We will be back
Fantastic food great staff and service
Had a thoroughly enjoyable meal here last night. A very warm welcome when we entered, very polite and attentive staff and some of the best tapas Ive tasted. All for a very reasonable price. Can recommend the Golden Mojito, this was beautiful. Will definitely be returning when next in the area.
Would not recommend. Food wasnt brilliant, hot food was only warm, they missed out one of our dishes
Great meal and atmosphere will definitely return.
Ok, a bit chaotic, but good vibe.
Hi , l have read all the reviews for Bar Limon and generally the clients appear very happy with the overall package. I have a feeling that certain people take pleasure in giving very poor unwarranted reviews. Whilst we are not regular customers I have always found the food served to be really good value for money , the service can sometimes be slow but we dont go in for speed eating.
Fantastic food and drinks - very friendly faces
Fabulous restaurant
What a nice place to find on a Sunday evening in Great Malvern. We both ate vegetarian (my partner is one) and there was plenty to keep us satisfied. Prices are good, and I especially appreciated the comment on the menu about the chef having a shellfish allergy so theres none of them on the menu. Worth visiting! Vegetarian options: Oh, Google the menu
Some food was served fridge cold as opposed to room temperature. When eating Tapas in Spain, it is never fridge cold.
I had my 60th birthday party here and it was fabulous. We had enough people to have the whole bar and Lucy and her team were extremely helpful and flexible. On the evening the service was great and the food and drink were praised by my friends. There was a really lovely atmosphere - everyone including the staff were dancing!. I would definitely recommend Bar Limon for an event like this.
Lovely tapas bar, really nice selection of different styles, great service and a lovely atmosphere
A large part catered for effortlessly - thanks!
Love this place! Super tasty Tapas with enough vegan options to fill your tummy.
What an amazing little place. We were away for the weekend and this topped our weekend off! The food was out of this world. We had albondigas, cheesy garlic bread, lamb tagine, potatas bravas, and halloumi. We could have chosen everything on the menu to be honest! We cant wait to come back! Thank you
Just a fabulous time...superb tapas and staff thank you so much...First visit and cant wait to come again!
Excellent new Spanish tapas bar / restaurant. The food is delicious, decor gorgeous and a super atmosphere. It deserves to be a great success after all the obvious hard work and attention to detail.
Wow. Just wow.
An excellent place to enjoy good music and an incredible atmosphere. The staff is wonderful and they even assisted us in Spanish. It is a privilege for us to have this place in Great Malvern. Totally recommended.
Great food, friendly environment, lovely garden!! I would strongly recommend it.
Lovely interior and staff were kind but our food took 50 minutes to arrive and then one dish at a time which I can understand may be preferred by some but we were under the impression we would receive everything at once and pick at each. The empanadas on the menu; each dish is only one empanada for £4, we had the 2 for £7 offer and have the spicy chicken which was lovely but then had the mozzarella one and it was frozen in the middle we told the waitress who was apologetic but when it came to paying it was still on the bill and nothing was said. Some food was nice but overall not worth the money and disappointed with the frozen empanada.
Great place, great food, great decor with some art displayed as well.Very friendly staff and we even have been offered a drink as a compensation for a slight delay ..wich in fact wasnt even noticable! 5 stars with no doubt!!
Newly opened, lovely spot, especially the courtyard garden, sunny spot, relaxed in a lovely part of the world. Freshly cooked Spanish tapas, decent wine, relaxed atmosphere. Recommended!
My boyfriend declared the chorizo akin to juicy porky bubble gum (BTW this is Mike Reynolds girlfriend writing this review)
Average tapas, average service (asked twice what we had chosen before we could see the menu) and the desserts were not good: melted sorbet and undercooked crema catalona. Wont go back in a hurry!
Excellent food and service. Went out of their way to accommodate us as a walk in even though the kitchen had just closed. Favourites were the Chorizo and pane con tomate. Also dog friendly.
Lovely atmosphere. Great food. A wonderful addition to Malvern.
The food at Bar Limon was gorgeous, really tasty, fresh, hot as it comes when its ready not all at the same time, which is typically Spanish and exactly how it should be. Lucy and her team are so welcoming, friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and typically Spanish. The meatballs were a favourite with my 3 Yr old and the sauce was perfect for dipping bread into. All of our dishes were tasty and delicious. The prices were excellent, there was a large number of us and I couldnt believe how reasonable it was. If you want a friendly, welcoming Spanish tapas restaurant with a menu that has a personal touch then this is the place for you! It was lovely how Lucy had written about each dish on the menu explaining why it was there and why its a favourite, it made me want to try everything. We will have to come back soon!
Delicious food, happy to return for more.
Great atmosphere, friendly service, very chilled vibe. loved it.
Good food but must book well in advance to enjoy the environment
Had a fantastic afternoon at Bar Limon in Malvern with family in a wonderfully friendly atmosphere generated by the staff. Our table sampled a huge variety dishes starting with Pan con Tomate which was moorish. The chorizo in cider and meatballs were winners. Only shame was after scoffing everything I had nothing left for pudding, something I will rectify for my next visit. Strongly recommend this place!
Lovely to have a taste of Spain after missing several holidays! Tapas were tasty and a good size, flavours as good, some better than we get in Spain. Lovely to have a choice of Estrella beers Including gluten free and alcohol free. Menu was labelled well with plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options. Staff were lovely and kept checking if we needed anything. A lovely night out, look forward to returning. Good value too.
So disappointed. Chaotic reservation system, chaotic service, stodgy unappetising food. Wouldnt go back
A wonderful gem in the heart of Malvern. So good to see something so brilliantly different in town!! Exceptional staff and atmosphere and a marvellous menu packed with authentic Spanish delights....just like we had in Barcelona. Chef special chicken dish was lush!! Beautiful garden, dog friendly (bowls of water around) and authentic Spanish beers and wines. Highly recommended for a great night out!!!
Went with a large group so was given a buffet type meal where they just brought out a bunch of small dishes. Not worth £20 per person, were not able to select what dishes we wanted
Really nice,a shame our orders were messed up,but staff are amazing.
Heard such good things, thought Id book for a double birthday celebration. Booked online 4 days prior to the date, had an email saying pending! Called twice, nobody answered. Sent a message on Facebook to them& 4 hours later they replied to say they cant keep up with the bookings! Offered a time and even though I replied they didnt even look at the message. Thank fully I booked somewhere else that obviously has better customer care to start with
So, first of all, I want to say how fab it is to have something new in Malvern and wish Bar Limon all the success in the world. We had a very friendly greeting from the front of house staff and the waiting staff were exemplary. If Im being critical (and I think thats the point of a review), I would say its disappointing to be able to book a table for 9pm, but not to have full service- I.e chef wants to go home at 10.15 so we cant order dessert other than ice cream at 10pm even though website says its open till 11pm. Some of the food was quite bland (meatballs in particular) and even though we were told we could order more if we wanted, the menus were whipped away by 9.30pm. Also, first 3 tapas dishes came out around 15 mins before the rest so we couldnt mix and match as we wanted. However, the serving staff were an absolute redeeming feature and a credit to the restaurant. We appreciate its a new business finding its feet and hope that by offering our honest opinion it will help moving forward. We will try again, but will maybe book an earlier table. Very reasonably priced and the Estrella was lovely! X
Absolutely perfect. Delicious food, wonderful staff and exactly the sort of bubbly, friendly, vibrant atmosphere one would expect from a traditional tapas bar. Heart, soul and passion has gone into this gem of a place, and you can really feel it. Even the menu has a cute personality, with little stories from the owner about which travels and countries have inspired the flavours.
Very poor reaction on inspection. Uneasy reaction to apparently difficult client. Disappointing customer service.
Great ambience, nicely decorated, friendly staff, generous portions, excellent food and good choice for vegetarians
Lovely atmosphere , exquisite nachos with accompanying salsa & guacamole & a superb tortilla. Friendly & attentive staff. Cant wait to return& sample more of the menu !
Good quality tapas
Very authentic tapas with good portions and plenty of choice. Excellent service.
I booked a table on the 6th of October for my partners birthday, I was really excited as we both like Tapas and on entering the ambience was nice, the decor the owner has obviously put a lot of work into that, The sad thing about the whole experience, one was the food,The food came out and some of it was cold in the centre, the potato with a tomato sauce, was microwave and also cold ,Kebabs were inedible and also cold in the centre, No guacamole, The waitresses looked particularly scruffy and one of them was eating behind the bar which I found most unprofessional, the whole experience was awful, I did speak to the waitress about the eating behind the bar, the food but nobody came and had a word of us, I think a few improvements are needed especially with front of house, the chef in the kitchen could do with putting hats on ,Chef with the long hair should have it tied back, I m sorry that my feedback is probably not what was expected, but my experience was not what I was expecting, I wish you well in your future there s a lot of hard work has gone into the building, and a few changes, will make a difference Regards Annie
I ve been twice. Absolutely superb with a great team.
Great food, ordered pretty much everything off the Tapas menu. The Lamb skewers were . Lovely atmosphere and very friendly and accommodating staff. Can t wait for our next visit.
I was at work the other day and a colleague said, have you tried Bar Limon. I said yes, and waited for her comment. She said we were very disappointed with the food, then I said, so was I and my wife and four friends. We agreed that we found a lot of the food tepid and bland. I ve eaten tapas in Seville, Cordoba and Malaga and its been outstanding. Even fabulous tapas bars in Shrewsbury and Hay on Wye. I ve eaten far better tapas at Gallery 36 up the road. The night my wife, I and four friends went it was rammed. We had to ask other diners to let us get past to our table. The decor was very nice and the staff were great, but I couldnt hear my wife and she was sat next to me. There was a dog barking incessantly and music playing. I was so glad to get out into the cool Malvern air. I do wish the owners and staff all the very best as a resident of Malvern, but I am afraid I wont be going back.
Awsome, authentic, great tasting food, lovely atmosphere. great staff!! Dog friendly, superb beer garden!
Went here a few days ago with my partner and I can say that this restaurant truly amazing. We both loved everything from the food, drinks, staff, music and ambiance. We even got extra food to take away with us as it was so delicious. Thank you so much for the great experience and we will definitely be back! I really recommend this place to anyone as it such a great place to have food. All the best for this place
Visited for the first time last night and really loved the decor, bright and inviting. We ordered 5 Tapas dishes and found the food tasty, freshly made on the premises. The mayonnaise was very good, the fish stew tasty and the fresh bread was divine. Only critism, we were seated by the main door which was a bit draughty.
I never write a poor review, but I am so disappointed. We popped in for a quick drink at 17:30. The restaurant only had two tables of customers and outside was empty. We asked if it was ok to bring in dogs we were told that was fine, they re welcome in the bar and outside. We came in with four adults and two dogs and the same lady said we weren t allowed to stay / have a table as they expected to get lots of bookings later that evening and they didn t want to accept walk ins just in case. We said that we were only staying for a couple of drinks so would be an hour at most. They had an empty bar and were expecting phone bookings, but they wouldn t accept four people for an hour. Clearly a reaction to us and our large very well behaved dogs - very disappointing and poor customer service. Why turn people away for potential phone bookings if you had customers ready to spend money and enjoy the bar? Wouldn t go back!!
My husband and I made the regrettable decision to visit Bar Limon restaurant this evening. We decided to eat early, soon after 5pm, and were the only diners, but there were approximately five or six young staff members present who were engaged in fooling around and generally causing a disturbance, which was an unpleasant distraction. After we had ordered our drinks and food, (the latter came so spaced out, that my dishes were finished long before his arrived) I observed the woman standing in the kitchen archway. Facing us the whole time, she was eating almost non-stop, popping food into her mouth with her bare hands. Eventually, she placed some items in the microwave or toaster oven to her right, removed them, and delivered them to us! I told her I had seen her eating while handling our food, and she claimed to have washed her hands, which could not have happened, as she never moved from her location. There seems to be no staff supervision and certainly no evidence of any training:; the food was of poor quality - my frittata was served cold and was not the light quiche-like dish it should have been, but heavy and, though claimed to be spinach based, tasted almost entirely of potatoes, the empanadas were warm in places but cold in the middle, which suggests they were microwaved poorly. This rates as probably our worst dining experience ever.
+ amazing atmosphere + Artichokes, whitebate, Chicken (ninis?), Bread tomato, Potatas Bravas, Churros and you ll need a bread bowl for all the sauce dipping. + Good drinks selection. Lemon beer is great. - chorizo (hard and too rich by themselves), mushrooms (like any watery mushroom you get in a cheap cafe), lamb (overdone and hard)
Amazing place just like being in Spain with both the ambiance and the food, fantastic. Will definitely be going again.
Brilliant authentic tapas bar, great food and great atmosphere. Have visited on numerous occasions and always leave with a smile on my face. Wonderful relaxed atmosphere, really attentive team and delicious reasonably priced food and drinks. There s a gallery too and a range of special nights with DJs, flamenco dancing and Spanish guitar music. This place is putting the Great into Great Malvern. Thank you Bar Limon - a fantastic independent, community-minded restaurant that has all the right ingredients and deserves to succeed. Any chance you could open in Cheltenham too?
A great new tapas bar right in the middle of Malvern. Clean and tidy and really nice atmosphere with lovely staff, highly recommended!
A lively informal place for an evening out.
Unprofessional, unwelcoming and uncompromising We booked a table for nine people at Bar Limon at 7:00 on Saturday, 6th November. Because it was an important family event we booked it well in advance and received a confirmation email from them on the 4th October. On Saturday lunchtime we telephoned to make absolutely sure the table was booked. There was some confusion about our booking but after a few minutes the staff member confirmed our name, the number of guests and the time of the booking. On Saturday evening we arrived and gave our name. The staff member who greeted us said that we were: Three minutes early . In the restaurant there was only one table capable of seating nine people and it already had five people on it. There were a number of two-seater, four-seater and six-seater tables which were free. The staff member said that the our table was currently occupied but the five people would be leaving within a few minutes . We were asked to sit at separate tables whilst we waited for our table to become free. We expressed our concern that despite two confirmations we were being split up and asked to wait to sit together to enjoy our evening. We suggested the staff might like to join a couple of the other tables together on a temporary basis. This they did after some considerable discussion but placed us in the thoroughfare right in the middle of the restaurant and next to the door. We sat and waited. After about five minutes the staff brought out food to the people on our table. It was very clear from this that theses guests were not about to leave. On the contrary, in reality they had only just begun to eat. We immediately asked to speak to a senior member of staff. A lady who appeared to be one of the owners came to see us. We expressed our view that we had been lied to over the availability of our table. The lady considered our assertion for a moment and then responded in the most surprising way. She said: It s a bit haphazard in here, I don t think this place will suit you and I don t think we want to serve you We again made it clear that we had booked an important family gathering over a month ago, reconfirmed on the day but were now being, in effect, told to go elsewhere. The lady walked away without responding and we were left to consider our position. After a short discussion we decided to leave. The staff made no apology and, if anything, made it clear they were glad that we were going. We walked up the hill and into Prezzo where we were made to feel very welcome and were served a splendid meal. In conclusion I would say that in more than 65 years of visiting restaurants I have never been treated so badly. Some members of staff were staggeringly unprofessional, remarkably arrogant and extremely rude. Some of our family members had travelled from Derbyshire and Yorkshire to be with us that evening, their view of Malvern has been tainted by their disappointing experience. This is not the sort of restaurant that is wanted in Malvern. As a town which relies heavily on tourism we need to remember that the customer pays the wages and also spreads the word. I have seen the response from Bar Limon claiming that we were drunk. Not only is this untrue, it is, I believe, potentially libellous in this public forum. In the absence of evidence to prove such an accusation I intend to take advice from the appropriate source and revert in due course. I se that Bar Limon have now changed their accusation to appeared drunk I have a screen shot of the original post which I shall retain.
Good food, great service. Nice atmosphere.
I am writing in response to the 1 Star review by Mr Booth. I was one of the five customers sat on your table and was eating out for my 30th birthday. The restaurant staff appeared to try lots of solutions to make your large booking comfortable while being treated very badly. The staff also handled it very well when a member of your group came over to us with the clear intention of ruining our night. Fortunately as the food was delicious, the ambiance was excellent and the staff brought everyone free drinks (not just our table, the entire restaurant) to apologise for the awkwardness caused by your party, we had a lovely evening regardless. The service was a little on the slow side overall but it is nice not to feel rushed when youre out for dinner. Thanks to the Bar Limon staff for a great birthday meal, we will be back!
Terrific atmosphere, good service and every dish was superb!
I adore tapas, but this experience was sadly really really disappointing.
Just amazing. I couldnt dream of an owner more dog friendly. Food was delicious, too
We were delighted to see this new bar open in Great Malvern and looked forward to sampling the Spanish-style tapas. Cruising into the uncrowded joint very early on a chilly Friday evening, we were surprised to be asked if we had booked a table. This was followed by a little head scratching by the staff member as she referred to her booking sheet. She then gave us a run through of what tables were booked at what times. After confirming that we were on a flying visit and wouldnt be staying more than 30 minutes, we were granted a couple of seats and ordered a sharing plate of cheese and meats with crusty bread. Although a fairly easy and straightforward dish, it arrived long after our drinks - while the 6-strong front-of-house team attended to (still) just a handful of visitors. Alas no flourish drizzle or garnish with the dish - just the cold meat, cheese slices and plain olives with slightly warm bread. The bill arrived at the second time of asking, and we decided not to tip. Our conclusion is that Bar Limon is a bar that wants to be a restaurant. Edit - have reduced my 2 star rating to 1 star upon reflection of the owners patronising response. Hope this isnt a difficult concept to grasp.
